Abstract:
In the development of natural tourism areas in the Sirah Kencong Tourism Area, the regional government of Blitar Regency, East Java Province has made various efforts and efforts. However, this effort still has some obstacles in its implementation. This study aims to develop a sustainable nature tourism development model based on collaborative management. Abstract:
Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. San Antonio is one of the Texas’ top tourist cities and a major tourism destination nationally. The city has a rich and unique historic urban landscape characterized by its river with its famous “Riverwalk,” historic neighborhoods, and major landmarks such as San Antonio Franciscan Missions which are on the U.S. “tentative list” as possible UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Local government has completed a multiyear project to restore and enhance 13 miles of the San Antonio River both north and south of downtown. It is expected that the river improvement project will reinforce the connection to the San Antonio Missions and encourage visitors to circulate along the river beyond the downtown area. Master of Architecture students of The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) explored the sustainable tourism alternatives in the Mission Historic District in the spring semesters of 2012 and 2013. The Advanced Design Studio (ARC 6136) focused on research-based exploration and application of advanced design theory relative to alternative tourism. This course discussed the relationships between the design of architecture, tourist city, and the alternative practices of tourism. Students investigated the tourism potentials in the District such as sustainable tourism, rural tourism, recreational tourism, cultural heritage tourism, and culinary tourism, and develop master plans for the selected sites. Students were expected to plan, program, and design the proposed tourism activities and tourist spaces on both urban and building scales. This paper focuses specifically on culinary tourism, cultural heritage tourism, and rural tourism, and discusses how to enhance the attractiveness of the destination for visitors and residents; expand the tourism activities offered; and provide maximum efficiency in the economical, historical, social, and cultural dimensions of tourism through sustainable development practices and proposed design projects.

Abstract:
Sustainable development of tourism in the regions of the Russian Federation is a priority task of the state. The development of the tourism sector is of great socio-economic importance and involves efforts aimed at the tourist and recreational development of territories and increasing the share of the non-resource sector in the economy. For the development of domestic and inbound tourism, Russia has all the necessary resources and unique opportunities to meet the vital needs of the country's population in tourism and recreation. Sustainable tourism development is directly related to strategic planning, involving the development and systematic implementation of concepts, strategies, programs, roadmaps, and master plans for the development of territories. Most documents of strategic planning of the tourism sector include a cluster approach, which contributes to the sustainable development of tourism and is an effective tool for integrated management of territories and increasing the regions’ competitiveness. The management of territories aimed at the sustainable development of tourism should be systematically linked to the existing set of programs for the regions’ socio-economic development. The article presents an analysis of the documents of strategic planning of the tourism sector at the federal and regional levels, which revealed the achievements and shortcomings of their implementation. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the federal target program ‘Development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation (2011–2018)’ and its effectiveness, the regions’ activities in the development and implementation of a system of strategic planning documents, and the effectiveness of management of the sustainable tourism development.

Abstract:
An image on tourism industry products gives potential traveller an important sense of emotional security. They can establish harmonious relationship between themselves and the outside world. National image is a long term investment and should be considered every time a decision is made at high or low levels of management. Marketers of the tourism product should not underestimate the value of a national image and its effect upon tourist behaviour. The steady growth in the world tourism market has earmarked its importance globally. Inevitably such tourism activities have an impact on wider economies, in both the developed and the developing world. Realizing the fact and importance of tourism, there is growing awareness worldwide. However, there is still relatively little appreciation of the specific operating characteristics of tourism firms, and especially of tourism entrepreneurship within developing countries. The development of national tourism policies, long-term tourism master plans, and tourism marketing strategies clearly highlights the significance that governments all over the world are attached and giving utmost priority to the industry. It is equally important to understand that the reliance on international tourism as a strategy for economic development might be precarious for the country. This is justified by the fact that it is so often associated with a dependency upon external sources of growth. This type of situation will be observed by those countries, which will be having their internal political conflicts, or in other socio-political tribulations. Therefore, such external sources at that time tend to be fickle in nature. Tourism being very sensitive and psycho graphic industry, choices of tourist destinations is susceptible to large fluctuations, particularly because of economic conditions in the tourist’s country of origin or the political situation in the holiday destination. Likewise, there also exist significant socio-economic and geographical dimensions of tourism dependency. The growth of the tourist industry and its potential for stimulating economic development through service sectors has contrived an important point in much of the literature on tourism. South Asian Sub-regional countries are considering tourism as an important industry for their livelihood. Different concepts and different philosophies on tourism are gaining wider recognition in this sub-region. That is why, research and studies going on widely into these areas. However, regardless of considerable dispute on the subject there is still little conformity as to tourism’s role in economic development where the governments will be having many more other socio-economic obligations. In such countries, the overall picture of tourism’s role is found to be somewhat blurred with some challenges, not only by the different assessments of economic development, but also by its socio-cultural and environmental implications as well. The Gaze: Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Vol.6 2014 pp.70-97

Abstract:
Tourism is like a two edge sword which has both positive and negative consequences. Such a drift of tourism is found applicable in all destinations big or small, old or new. Nevertheless, the development intervention of new destinations with the sustainable tourism maxim from the very beginning can be much rewarding than a mass tourism induced mature destinations. Ghodaghodi Lake Area (GLA), a new tourist destination in Ghodaghodi Municipality (GM) of Kailali, extending to 2,726 hector of wetland with its designation as a Ramasar site, constitutes immense potential for prosperity through the sustainable tourism operation and management from its existing tourism offerings like lake viewing hiking, trekking, bird watching, and religious tourism activities. In this context, this paper aims to shed light on how a new destination like GLA is embedded with a number of challenges for sustainable tourism issues and what can be its remedy from sustainable tourism perspective. Developed through mix methods (qualitative and quantitative) of research, this paper has embedded its findings with the four progressive theoretical models (advocacy, cautionary, adaptability, and knowledge based platforms) as sustainable tourism. The poorly equipped infrastructures, lack of planned development activities, meager institutional capacity, and inadequate marketing have been pointed out as the drawback. This paper recommends that the formulation of a holistic plan of actions in the form of tourism master plan consisting of a self sustaining revenue model and its sincere application is the bottom-line to address sustainable tourism appliance challenges.

Abstract:
Ecotourism gives priority to ecological resource integrity, environmental conservation, community development and economic development by maintaining low-impact and non-consumptive use of local resources. There are different forms of ecotourism developed worldwide as community based ecotourism, ecosystem ecotourism, cultural ecotourism, nature based ecosystem, protected area ecotourism and rural ecotourism. It focuses on meeting three concurrent goals of biodiversity conservation, poverty reduction and business viability using sustainable principles and practices. In sustainable ecotourism, local government officials, local communities, NGOs, private sector and management committee had a great role for tourism development and maintaining healthy cooperation and coordination. Ecotourism had more beneficial impacts compared to adverse impacts on the environment, society and culture. It emphasizes the protection of natural resources, biological diversity and sustainability of resource. It increases mobility of people, social stability and harmony; strengthen traditional culture, hospitality and folkway; and decreases political conflicts. Economic benefits from ecotourism include direct employment in hotels, lodges, tourist restaurants, and tourist chauff euring. It is an integral part of the master development strategy of a developing nation. In Nepal, ecotourism helps to enhance forest cover, flora, fauna, greenery, alternative energy sources, natural resource, biodiversity and other environmental benefits. It had helped in controlling antisocial activities, conserving religious and cultural heritage, maintaining peace and prosperity and increase in cooperation of people with religious beliefs and religious tolerance. It had a great role in poverty alleviation, rural development, agricultural transformation, community enrichment and social empowerment of women in Nepal. In the early stage of ecotourism development, it is difficult to have adequate private agencies and local people involved in delivering lodging, fooding, tour management and tourism activities during peak visitation season. There is need of training on nature guiding, cooking, sustainable use of tourism resources, proper handling of tourism demands, expertise in park management and finance management.THE GAZEJOURNAL OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITYVol. 8 No.1 Year 2017, page: 1-19

Abstract:
The stipulation of the Palopo City Regional Tourism Development Master Plan 2021 – 2025 makes the Palopo City tourism sector quite optimistic after the beginning of the pandemic. Until 2030, Palopo City targets 250,000 domestic tourists and 1800 foreign tourists. The tourism potential of Palopo City, especially in urban areas is quite promising with the construction of a culinary center and souvenirs, public space activities, and the development of culinary businesses. These potentials must be supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure, including accessibility. Meanwhile, public transportation in Palopo City is considered inadequate and not integrated with each other. The concept of Palopo City Tourism offers the integration of tourism activities in the urban areas of the city of Palopo by providing integrated tourism transportation modes, equipped with supporting infrastructure such as bus stops. However, the implementation of the concept will be constrained by funding problems given the limited regional finances and the demand to prioritize sectors that are more strategic than tourism. This paper will see how the implementation of the PPP scheme in the tourism sector, especially in the transportation aspect, namely in the concept of Palopo City Tourism, both in development, operation and potential benefits. From the results of the analysis of movement patterns and the location of tourist objects, 3 optimal routes were chosen that could accommodate the movement of tourists, namely the southern route, western route and northern route. From the results of the analysis of infrastructure needs, it is necessary to develop infrastructure in the form of shelters and pedestrian paths and their accessories at tourist attraction points and several commercial areas. In addition, several PPP financing schemes are also proposed which are considered suitable for the City Tour Palopo concept, including Concessions and Affermage/Lease schemes, such as Service Contracts and Management Contracts, Design-Build-Finance-Operate/Maintain (DBFO, DBFM or DBFO). /M), Build-Own-Lease-Transfer (BOLT).

Abstract:
Promoting Buddhism through Modern Sports: The Case Study of Fo Guang Shan in TaiwanIn the past, traditional Buddhism in China focused on chanting and meditation that detached itself from the society. However, after generations of strenuous efforts to promote ‘Humanistic Buddhism’, several Masters have been encouraging religion to engage more in daily lives. One of the proponents was Master Hsin Yun, who was born and raised in mainland China and subsequently moved to Taiwan along with the ‘Monk Rescue Team’. It was in Taiwan that Master Hsin Yun founded Fo Guang Shan, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites on the island. At the beginning, he started the place from scratch, setting up basketball courts for the followers to take part in basketball games. Upholding the notion that Buddhism needs to engage the public, Master, therefore, has a unique way of combing religion with modern sports in an attempt to let more people get in touch with religion. Accordingly, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, and other sports were promoted and sponsored under the auspices of Fo Guang Shan, which certainly topples public stereotypes around sedentary Buddhism. In the end, Master hopes that, in the future, sports can unite healthy Fo Guang followers worldwide and bring honor to Taiwan.

Abstract:
without eliminating the concept of conventional tourism as a whole. The concept of halal which refers to the provisions of Islamic law makes the provisions apply universally, especially in traveling as well as in terms of consuming a product and service. Although currently Banten Province is still outside the Top Ten Indonesian Halal Tourism, the potential of Banten Province is very large considering that Banten is one of the buffer areas between the islands of Java and Sumatra in the paradigm of the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI) 2011-2025, and become the largest transit point for foreign tourists in Indonesia through Soekarno Hatta International Airport. Optimization of Halal Tourism Management is one of the main instruments that can be carried out by Banten Province in order to be able to capture various economic potentials in the Tourism Sector. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Descriptive studies analyze the productivity of articles, books, and other formats by looking at authorship patterns such as the gender of the author, the type of work the author does, the level of collaboration, and the productivity of the author. Halal tourism management and conventional tourism still have the same problem in terms of accessibility, communication, environment and service. Looking at the diversity of existing tourism components, Banten is able to offer the potential of religious tourism destinations and halal food optimally. In terms of halal tourism services, some adjustments are still needed considering the need for several sharia certifications in the implementation of hospitality, transportation, and labor services. Regional income can be maximized if the problem of accessibility, communication, environment and service can be minimized by tourism policy holders. The high potential of Muslim tourists from various foreign countries who transit in Banten must be able to be captured properly by the government so that Banten is able to become the Top Ten Halal Destinations in Indonesia.

In connection with the launch of the "Strategy of development of tourism in the Russian Federation until 2020", approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on May 31, 2014 №941-p, opportunities for coordination of tourism activities of municipalities have increased significantly. The complex of effective mechanisms is presented in the Strategy and Action Plan for its implementation, and they have opened up great opportunities for municipalities to develop the potential for domestic tourism. The primary purposes of the current step for the coordination of tourism activities in municipalities are to assist in the promotion of tourist resources of small cities, towns, and villages, programming event-tourism activities taking place in towns of Russia, participation in festivals of Russian towns, development of measures to support efforts to promote tourism services in small cities of Russia, including through public-private partnerships. This corresponds to the documents of Federal Target Program "Development of domestic and inbound tourism in the Russian Federation (2011—2018 years) " in terms of solving the problem of the development of tourist and recreational complex of the Russian Federation. The article is based on materials of the research carried out with the direct participation of the author, the main result of which is the development of the program content of the subject "Management of tourism in at state and municipal levels " in the programme of master training 43.04.02 "Tourism ". The article deals with the organizational support of the process of coordination of tourism activities at the state and municipal levels, aimed at obtaining a specific socio-economic result of the introduction of innovative technologies. The results obtained directly by the author are based on a fairly extensive empirical basis, which consists of the legal documents developed in the regions and municipalities for tourist activities coordination, as well as the programs and subprograms of tourism development in regions and municipalities. Technology developed to improve the efficiency of tourism activities in municipalities take into account the requirements of government agencies, businesses and social forces aimed at the development of tourism in the Russian Federation, and they are conducive to the processes of self-identification and promotion of domestic tourism. Tourism in Russia today is more than an economic phenomenon; it is, above all, an opportunity to carry out educational activities by means of tourism, to educate the historical memory of the population.

Abstract:
The indications of halal values in the local regulation need to be looked at further on the overall coverage of halal aspects included dress ethics that need to be applied to support halal tourism with local identity and global competitiveness. The Aceh government which has special autonomy under the leadership of the mayor of Sabang, has issued special regulations to support the implementation of ‘good’ and 'halal' tourism. This regulation is stated in Qanun Number 9 of 2019 concerning the Master Plan for Tourism Development of Sabang City for 2019-2027. The stipulation of these regulations clearly indicates the spirit of halal, including the ethics of dress which is a local identity in the management of marine tourism in the city of Sabang which can be seen in many poins of mentioned qanun. Normative research by looking at the scope of government regulations that is presented qualitatively shows the need for the scope of rules or derivative rules from the side of non-muslim tourists in terms of the obligation to comply with local halal norms and ethics, such as etiquette for beachfront dress and supervision. This is because the embodiment of halal tourism in products, governance, facilities, and supervision must support social, ethical, customary and local communities. The preference for halal tourism that has been declared by the government must not prioritize the quantity of tourism but prioritize the quality of halal, wisdom and social culture of the local community.

Abstract:
Madu Retno Village is the first transmigration village in the Batulicin area which was formed in 1980. Initially, village management was under the guidance of the Transmigration Department with a duration of 1 year. The village is growing but not maximal in its stages. Judging from its potential, Madu Retno Village has a strong Hindu socio-cultural character. In its development, the existing potential has not been mapped thoroughly so that there is no complete planning and development scheme, it does not yet have the direction of goals contained in the development scheme, the thematic growth direction, and indicators to improve adequate infrastructure. The overall urgency can be realized through the preparation of a village master plan which will be prepared with the residents so that they will find and appreciate the expectations of the residents. The concept of an independent village is a top priority in the preparation of this village master plan, then the concept of a cultural tourism village becomes the next development effort so that Madu Retno Village will develop tourism and community culture independently.

Abstract:
Eco-tourism is a growing part of the tourism industry. However, there are no agreed-upon criteria of what constitutes eco-tourism, so the industry is currently self-identified, with eco-lodges simply declaring themselves so. Here we present the first systematic comparison of eco-tourism versus conventional (or mass) tourism, using as our study area a set of 37 resorts along the southern Red Sea coast of Egypt, all constructed on similarly oriented parcels between the sea and the Red Sea Mountain Range. We compared resorts based on their water, energy, and waste management (all virtually equivalent), and based on mappable environmental parameters such as swimming pool surface area, distance from mangrove patches, conflict with flood plains, extent of lawn area, and means of access to deep water. We found that the self-identified eco-tourism establishments were not significantly different from the conventional tourism resorts in terms of their stress on environmental resources. We recommend that future eco-tourism operations be modified in two key ways. First, on the planning level, by modifying the regional master plan created by the central government tourism authorities. Second, on the site design level, by introducing significant improvements to the design approval processes for the developments to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
