The urban growth in Santa Maria, presents an expansion of irregular land occupation, a fact that provides social inequality and conflicts in the urban land occupation, as well as excluding factors. This study aims to present a general portrait of the process of occupation in the Fazenda Santa Marta, in Santa Maria, including its 7 (seven) settlements which are: Loteamento Alto da Boa Vista, Loteamento Marista, Loteamento Sete de Dezembro, Loteamento Dez de Outubro, Loteamento Dezoito de Setembro, Loteamento Pôr do Sol, and Loteamento Núcleo Central. Therefore, the temporal analysis for this study starts with the 1991 occupation, rescuing its history process, as well as the evidence indicating that a certain amount of poverty is associated to the lack of infrastructure. This way, there is a focus on the analysis of the social spatial aspects of the evolving process, on the historic process and on the understanding of social movements, as well as to highlight nowadays the context of the settlements. The methodology used had a theoretical basis limited by the studied area and a cartographic base. With this bibliographic research, it was possible to identify the current structure of Bairro Nova Santa Marta, and also how the process of irregular occupation is understood within it. In this process, predominates the expansion of the areas and an increase of poverty and need for basic services, because the population of the settlements is growing considerably, and the poverty does not manifest only in the lack of basic social services, but in the absence of sociability and environmental resources that can could help the residents. Finally, all the progress of men studied here shows the characteristic urban lifestyle and everyday life, of contemporary life.O crescimento urbano, da cidade de Santa Maria, apresenta um quadro de expansão de áreas ocupadas de forma irregular, fato que tende a determinar desigualdades e conflitos na ocupação do solo urbano, bem como fatores de exclusão. Este estudo tem por finalidade expor um panorama geral do processo evolutivo da área ocupada na Fazenda Santa Marta, no município de Santa Maria abrangendo seus 7 (sete) loteamentos sendo eles: Loteamento Alto da Boa Vista, Loteamento Marista, Loteamento Sete de Dezembro, Loteamento Dez de Outubro, Loteamento Dezoito de Setembro, Loteamento Pôr do Sol, Loteamento Núcleo Central. Desse modo, o recorte temporal para este trabalho inicia com a ocupação em 1991, resgatando seu processo histórico, bem como a evidência de que há índices de pobreza associados a falta de infraestrutura. Assim, privilegiou-se analisar os aspectos socioespaciais do processo de evolução, conhecer o processo histórico e compreender aspectos dos movimentos sociais, bem como salientar o contexto atual dos loteamentos. A metodologia constituída pela fundamentação teórica delimitada pela área estudada, bem como a base cartográfica. Por meio dessa pesquisa, de caráter bibliográfico, foi possível, identificar como se apresenta atualmente a estrutura do Bairro Nova Santa Marta, bem como é entendido nele o processo de ocupação irregular. Nesse processo, há predomínio na expansão das áreas, aumento da pobreza e carência dos serviços básicos, visto que a população nos loteamentos aumenta consideravelmente. As condições precárias do bairro não se manifestam somente pela falta dos serviços básicos e sociais, mas também na falta de recursos de sociabilidade, e ambientais que venha atender os moradores ali residentes. Finalmente, todos os avanços do homem estudados neste trabalho denotam formas da vida e do cotidiano urbano, característicos da problemática urbana.

Esta pesquisa é uma tentativa de descoberta do verdadeiro sentido e intenção de
Lucas no texto em que fala sobre Marta e Maria (Lc 10.38-42) e a relação destas
com Jesus. Busco analisar a situação da mulher na sociedade patriarcal, sua
atuação voltada aos cuidados da família e do lar e, ao mesmo tempo, a ousadia de
mulheres que seguiram Jesus desde a Galileia até Jerusalém: como elas o serviam,
o escutavam, arriscavam suas vidas e deram assistência até o momento de sua
ressurreição, espalhando a notícia do ressuscitado. É possível perceber que, em
todos os tempos, as mulheres lutaram por uma vida digna e aos poucos foram
conquistando seu espaço e percebendo a necessidade de uma reconciliação do
humano em sua totalidade, feminino/masculino, reconhecendo os valores femininos
que foram esquecidos nas sociedades androcêntricas. Nos mais diferentes
contextos, muitas mulheres começaram a participar ativamente nos diversos
movimentos, sindicatos e comunidades de base, exercendo uma forte liderança,
organizando grupos de reflexões bíblicas e descobrindo que um outro mundo é
possível.This research is an attempt to detect the true meaning and intention of Luke in the text that talks about Mary and Martha (Luke 10.38-42) and their connection with Jesus. I seek to analyze the situation of women in patriarchal society, their performance as they take care of the family and home and, at the same time, the audacity of the women who followed Jesus from Galilee to Jerusalem: how they served him, how they listened to him, how they risked their lives for him and assisted him up to the moment of his resurrection, spreading the news about the risen Lord. It is possible to perceive that, at all times, women have struggled for a decent life and gradually conquered their space and noticed that the human being, as a whole, needs reconciliation, female/male, recognizing the feminine values which were forgotten in androcentric societies. In various different contexts, many women began to participate actively in diverse movements, trade unions, grassroots communities, exercising a strong leadership, organizing biblical reflections and discovering that another world is possible.

Previous issue date: 2012-06-13The goal of this dissertation is to research the various notions of diakonia practiced by women in some passages of the Synoptic Gospels and in the book of Acts of the Apostles. The service, or the diakonia, of Jesus, was not directed only to the weak, the sick and the poor. In his earthly life, Jesus demonstrated in various ways as he understood and preached love and help to the next not figuratively, but in the most literal and real sense. It is in this sense that the diakonia must be understood as a collective notion for many types of activites, services and actions, and this must has a specific purpose of restoring, release and promote equality. Within the context of diakonia practiced by Jesus women were not excluded, and this research seeks to demonstrate that there is reciprocity in the practice of diakonia, of Jesus for women and women for Jesus. Through qualitative analysis we pretend by feminist hermeneutics prove two hypothesis: 1) that women mentioned in Lc 8,1-3, 10,38-42 served Jesus (diakonoun autó) and this service is not restricted to the domestic service. 2) At 9,36-43 has example of diakonia and not charitable practice In the case of conceptualization of diakonia some patterns concepts played an important role in the initial study of the word, in this way, some basic information will be useful to help us in the study of the meaning of diakonia practiced by women.
Essa dissertação tem como objetivo pesquisar as várias noções de diakonia praticada por mulheres em algumas passagens dos Evangelhos Sinóticos e no livro dos Atos dos Apóstolos. O serviço, ou a diakonia, de Jesus, não se dirigiu apenas aos fracos, doentes e pobres. Em sua vida terrena, Jesus demonstrou de várias formas como ele entendeu e pregou o amor e o auxílio ao próximo não em sentido figurativo, mas no sentido mais literal e real. É nesse sentido que a diakonia deve ser compreendida como uma noção coletiva para muitos tipos de atividades, serviços e ações e que possuem o fim específico de restaurar, libertar e promover igualdade. Dentro do contexto da diakonia praticada por Jesus as mulheres não foram excluídas e no decorrer da pesquisa procura-se demonstrar que houve reciprocidade na prática da diakonia, de Jesus para as mulheres e destas para Jesus. Por meio da análise qualitativa busca-se através da hermenêutica feminista comprovar duas hipóteses: 1) de que as mulheres mencionadas em Lc 8,1-3, 10,38- 42 serviram a Jesus (diakonoun autó) e este serviço não é restringido ao serviço doméstico. 2) que em At 9,36-43 tem-se exemplo da prática da diakonia e não exercício da caridade. No caso da conceituação da diakonia alguns conceitos padrões desempenharam um papel importante no estudo inicial de palavra, desta forma, algumas informações básicas serão úteis para nos ajudar no estudo do significado da diakonia praticada por mulheres.

Previous issue date: 2013-09-27The dissertation wich the reader has in its hands concerns my master dissertation about the contemplation in the Cloud of Unknowing. The Cloud of Unknowing belongs to the late medieval period (XIV century), and was probably written by a cartusian monk, as a method of teaching a young man, probably around twenty-four years old, about the contemplative life. In his writing, the author compares the contemplative life to two important biblical figures. First he compares it to Mary, that having received Jesus in her house, listens to him patiently, unlike Martha, her sister, that goes about preparing his supper. Next the author compares contemplative life, to Moses, wich with a lot of effort, climbs to the top of the mountain and sees a great cloud. Mary´s passage reports to the gospel according to Luque chapter 10, verse 38-42. Moses passage belongs to the book of Exodus, chapter 24. Mary is compared to her sister Martha. The first one represents the contemplative life, while the second one represents an active life. Moses is compared to Aaron, the last one representing a person wich with little effort and by divine grace contemplates the lord, while the first one is only capable of the same with a lot of effort. We approach the degrees of ascension to the contemplative life: the purgative path; the progressive and the contemplative one. The first degree refers to the active life while the second one refers to the active and contemplative lifes. In its turn the third level relates only to the contemplative life. The active life, being the path lived according the works of mercy and charity, as well as contemplation. O trabalho que o leitor tem em mãos, trata da minha dissertação de mestrado acerca do tema da contemplação na Nuvem do Não-Saber. A Nuvem do Não-Saber é uma obra que data do medievo tardio (séc. XIV), tendo sido escrita provavelmente por um monge cartuxo, como modo de ensinar a um jovem em torno de vinte e quatro anos, acerca da vida contemplativa. Na obra, o autor compara a vida contemplativa a duas importantes personagens bíblicas: em primeiro lugar, compara-a a Maria, que tendo recebido Jesus em sua casa, senta-se a fim de, paciente e atenciosamente, ouvi-lo, diferentemente de Marta (sua irmã), que se apressa em preparar-lhe a refeição. Em segundo lugar, mas tão importante quanto, compara a vida contemplativa a Moisés que, com muito esforço, sobe ao cume do monte e vê ali, uma grande nuvem. A passagem de Maria reporta-se ao Evangelho de S. Lucas, no capitulo 10, versos 38- 42, já a passagem de Moisés reporta-se ao livro do Êxodo, no capítulo 24. Maria é contraposta a sua irmã Marta. Esta, representando a vida ativa, e aquela, a vida contemplativa. Já Moisés é contraposto a Aarão. Este, representando a pessoa que, sem muitos esforços e por divina graça, chega à perfeita contemplação assim que o quer, e aquele, só o consegue depois de muitos esforços. Abordamos então, os três graus de ascensão à vida contemplativa: a via purgativa, a via progressiva e a via contemplativa ou apofática. O primeiro grau, respectivo à vida ativa, e o terceiro grau, respectivo à vida contemplativa, sendo o segundo grau, intermediário (partícipe) tanto da vida ativa quanto da vida contemplativa. A vida ativa, sendo a vida vivida segundo as obras corporais de misericórdia e caridade e a vida contemplativa, sendo a busca do espírito em unir-se a Deus, por meio do silêncio, da solidão e do desejo amoroso

The construction industry has been criticised as being inefficient and fragmented. In response to the continuous dissatisfaction of many client organisations, recent decades have seen the emergence of a spectrum of contracts that embrace different degrees of collaboration promoting the development of integrated approaches to contracts and relationships. In parallel, two other independent significant developments arose to challenge the silo mentality within the industry; Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Lean management. This research explored the integration of these three initiatives with the purpose of incentivising clients to step into a new era of collaboration in construction supported by digital lean processes and advanced technologies.

Introduzione. Il Delirium è una sindrome neuropsichiatrica frequente nei pazienti oncologici. La Memorial Delirium Assessment Scale (MDAS) è uno strumento validato per diagnosi, severità e fenomenologia del delirium. Scopo dello studio: confrontar prevalenza all’ingresso, incidenza durante il ricovero e fenomenologia del delirium, in pazienti affetti da malattia oncologica avanzata in due diversi setting: Hospice e reparto di Oncologia.
Metodi. Abbiamo condotto uno studio osservazionale prospettico in pazienti ricoverati nell’Hospice Bentivoglio della Fondazione Hospice MT Chiantore Seràgnoli Onlus (Bentivoglio, Bologna, Italy) (FHS) e presi in carico dalla Equipe di Cure Palliative del reparto di Oncologia della Clinica Università di Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) (CUN). L’MDAS è stato somministrato all’ingresso e una volta alla settimana. Sono state eseguite analisi di frequenza, Test Chi-quadrato Pearson, Test esatto di Fisher, Test Anova e Test Wilcoxon.
Resultati. Sono stati arruolati 227 pazienti (176 in FSH, 51 in CUN). La prevalenza di delirium all’ingresso è stata di 46/176 (26%) pazienti in FHS e 11/51 (22%) in CUN (p<0.585). L’incidenza durante il ricovero è stata di 31/176 (18%) pazienti in FHS e di 4/51 (8%) in CUN (p<0.208). Alla dimissione/decesso, il delirium è stato irreversibile in 65/176 (37%) pazienti in FHS e in 3/51 (6%) in CUN (p<0.001).
In 32 pazienti è stato possibile confrontare l’MDAS all’episodio di delirium con il successivo. Nei 22 pazienti con delirium reversibile tutti gli item dell’MDAS sono migliorati (riduzione del livello di intensità); nei 10 pazienti con delirium irreversibile, il livello di intensità è rimasto lo stesso in tutti gli item.
Conclusione. La prevalenza del delirium all’ingresso e l’incidenza durante il ricovero sono stati simili nei due setting, l’evoluzione diversa: in FSH alla dimissione/decesso ci sono stati un numero maggiore di delirium irreversibili. Con precoce diagnosi e trattamento il delirium può migliorare quando reversibile, può non peggiorare quando irreversibile.Background. Delirium is a neuropsychiatric syndrome more frequent in advanced cancer patients. The Memorial Delirium Assessment Scale (MDAS) is a validated tool used for diagnosis, severity and measuring phenomenology of delirium. The aim of this study is to compare the prevalence at admission, incidence during hospitalization and phenomenology of delirium in advanced cancer patients in two different settings: a hospice and an oncology ward. Methods. We conducted a prospective observational study of patients admitted at Hospice Bentivoglio of the Hospice MT Chiantore Seràgnoli Onlus Foundation (Bentivoglio, Bologna, Italy) (FHS) and attended by the Palliative Care Supportive Team at the Oncology Ward of the University Clinic of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) (CUN). MDAS was administered at initial hospitalization and repeated every week. Frequency analysis, Chi-squared Pearson Test, Fisher test, Anova Test and Wilcoxon test were analyzed. Results. 227 were enrolled (176 in FHS, 51 in CUN). Delirium prevalence was 26% (46/176) FHS, 22% (11/51) CUN (p<0.585). Delirium incidence was diagnosed in 18% (31/176) of patients in FHS, in 8% (4/51) at CUN (p<0.208). At the time of discharge/death, irreversible delirium was present in 37% (65/176) of patients at FHS, in 6% (3/51) at CUN (p<0.001). In a subset of 32 patients, MDAS was compared at the time of diagnosis of delirium and one week later. In 22 patients with reversible delirium, all MDAS items showed a reduction in the level of intensity of delirium, but in 10 patients with irreversible delirium, the level of all items reminded at the same intensity. Conclusion. Delirium prevalence at admission and incidence during hospitalization was similar in both settings, but the evolution was different: in FSH at discharge/death, there was a higher prevalence of irreversible delirium. Signs of delirium can improve in reversible delirium and not worsen in irreversible delirium by early diagnosis and proper treatment.

The present research work is based on the systemic perspective, which understands the environment as a group of interconnected elements exchanging energy and material. Thus, the study area is a sector of the sub-basin drained by an tributary on the right margin of the Cadena stream. Its population s historical, social, economical and cultural aspects were considered and it was perceived a relationship of dependence among those aspects, as well as between them and the site s physical aspects: vegetal covering, climate, hydrography, geology and geomorphology, which compose a diagnosis of the physical medium and the human occupation. In this sense, the objective of the study is the physical and human characterization of the area, aiming at identifying the factor of anthropical and physical origin that interfere in the quality of life of the local community and in the dynamics of the model. It is concluded the anthropical action over the
surface has increased the medium s degrading process, where in the area of application of the experiment incisive erosion exists in continuous and progressive evolution, thus making it clear the need of a study with a systemic approach and an integrated work among the important components of this society (population, community leaders and public authority).O presente trabalho de pesquisa está baseado na perspectiva sistêmica, entendendo o ambiente como um conjunto de elementos interligados, efetuando troca de matéria e energia. Assim, a área de estudo é um setor da sub-bacia drenado por um afluente da margem direita do arroio Cadena, onde foram considerados os aspectos históricos, sociais, econômicos e culturais da população, percebendo-se uma relação de dependência entre estes aspectos, bem como possuindo inter-relações importantes com os aspectos físicos: cobertura vegetal, clima, hidrografia, geologia e geomorfologia e que compõe um diagnóstico do meio físico e da ocupação humana. Desta forma o objetivo do estudo é a caracterização física e humana da área, visando a identificação dos fatores de origem antrópica e física que interferem na qualidade de vida da comunidade e na dinâmica do modelado. Conclui-se que a ação antrópica sobre a superfície acentuou o processo degradante do meio, onde na área de aplicação do experimento existe voçorocamento em continua e progressiva evolução, deixando clara a necessidade de um estudo com abordagem sistêmica e um trabalho integrado entre os componentes importantes desta sociedade (população, coordenadores comunitários e poder público).

New media initiatives in Brazil's capital, Rio de Janeiro, are attempting to change mainstream ideas about favelas (poor districts) and their inhabitants. This thesis focuses on two of these initiatives that are being run by non-government organisations, Viva Favela and Imagens do Povo.
This study takes an ethnographic and discursive approach to investigating and comparing two categories of professional photographers to determine how their working practices contribute to empowering the people living in Brazil's favelas. While mainstream photojournalists mainly cover human rights abuses in the favelas, community photographers challenge stereotypes by presenting images of the favelas' everyday life.

This project designed and developed a novel in vitro model of the haematopoietic stem cell niche. Components of the endosteal niche and the perivascular niche, essential in the bone marrow haematopoietic stem cell niche microenvironment, were integrated in a single platform using a multiphasic approach that combined melt electrospun written scaffolds with starPEG-heparin hydrogels. Haematopoietic stem cell response was analysed after 3D co-culture with the tissue engineering niches.

This work invites you to reflect and think Marian devotion today. With the goal of presenting the spirituality of the Pe. Chaminade, which rests in a marial Mystique, giving amarial Mystique, giving a better understanding of Marian devotion in times of secularization. In his time. Chaminade studied and deepened the role and mission of Mary in the mystery of Christ and the Church, in anticipation of the Ecumenical Council Vatican II. Proposes the devotion to Mary with prudence and caution, for him the devotion to Mary leads the faithful to a subsidiary relationship, which he called filial piety. He lived a deep experience of God, before the image of the Virgin of the pillar in Zaragoza, Spain, where he stayed for three years in exile, which was a time of troubles, challenges, but also a time of grace, a maturing in the faith. This experience led him to a new way of evangelizing to France, after the French Revolution, in the process of secularization. To reach the mystical elements of Marian made a general approach to the mystical concept of privileging the dimension of experience: the intimate union with God as content and goal of the experiment; their condition of immediate experience in mediating soul and trace which it leaves the presence of God and finally the love as the way and means of the association. Developed the concept of mystical, we treat the concept of Christian mysticism, where the central element is the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, Son of God become Son of Mary. The story of Fr. Chaminade and Marian spirituality, the finding of a Mystic Marial within the Marian spirituality. He presents Mary as the Virgin that embraces life, the mother who communicates the life and the Wife who lives an unconditional love, and may be called a Mystery icon, is carried in her womb the mystery of a God who became human, Jesus Christ. For the Pe. Chaminade devotion to Mary is to imitate her virtues to reach conformity with Christ, Maria is the Center, the whole devotion must lead the faithful to the center of the Christian faith, which is Jesus Christ. Concerned with the formation of the people, and as an educator in the faith and in Christian ways, proposing the method of virtues that can be a way: to self-knowledge, a path to love and a way to the service, that points to a human and integral growth of the person, with a community ethic of care, solidarity and compassion. To new times and new challenges new methods. New wine in new skins.
O presente trabalho convida a refletir e pensar a devo??o mariana hoje. Com o objetivo de apresentar a espiritualidade do Pe. Deux écrivaines méridionales, insulaires et de même génération, Marie Susini et Maria Giacobbe, ont écrit à l’étranger au sujet de leur île : la Corse et la Sardaigne. Chaque auteure s’est réapproprié, par sa plume et son imaginaire exacerbé par l’éloignement, l’Ithaque natale qu’elle a quittée. L’étude des conditions de la genèse de l’écriture, ainsi que l’analyse des formes et des thématiques des écrits liées au fait de “revisiter” constamment l’île, constituent les enjeux principaux de cette recherche. Si le comparatisme poussera plus loin ses investigations, par des confrontations avec les critères de Margherita Marras et des comparaisons avec des textes d’autres auteurs insulaires et non insulaires, le questionnement concernant le parcours identitaire des écrivaines toutefois demeure. Qu’est-ce qu’un écrivain insulaire ? Qu’est-ce que l’écriture de l’île ?Marie Susini and Maria Giacobbe, two female writers who were born in two islands of the Mediterranean - Corsica and Sardinia - and belonged to the same generation, have written about their native islands while they were abroad. Through her imagination exacerbated by the distance, each of them has recaptured her native Ithaca. The main object of this research is to study the genesis of their writing, the analysis of forms and themes connected to their constant interior “revisitation”. A comparative approach will further examine the text through the critical standards of Margherita Marras, and comparisons with the texts of other authors, whether they are insular or not. What is basically at stake is the question of identity: what is an insular writer? What does writing about an island consist in?

In 2007, the economic crisis erupted in Greece, resulting in strict austerity measures and an ardent neoliberal trajectory. Concurrently, a filmmaking group began to produce ‘weird’ films, gaining momentum as a film movement. This thesis takes another approach to understanding the cinematic activity of this group. It casts aside the prevalent frameworks of economic crisis and national cinema. Instead, the thesis’s lenses of the counterpublic and transnational reveal that the new generation of filmmakers revise art cinema conventions and their position as creators – in the state and in the world – to meaningfully intervene in the Greek economic crisis.

Acrylamide (AA) is an undesirable food toxic compound, classified as 'probably carcinogenic to humans' by the International Agency for Research on Cancer due to its toxic effects, including neurotoxicity, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive toxicity. AA is mainly formed during the heat treatment of foods (> 120 °C) by the Maillard reaction, an essential reaction that also allows the desired levels of shelf-life and sensory properties of various food products to be achieved. Over the years, authorities and regulations have become more restrictive regarding the maximum levels of AA permitted in foods and beverages. The latest Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2158 contains reference levels and measures to reduce AA in several food groups that contribute to the highest dietary intake, making necessary the study of promising AA mitigation strategies.
The aim of this PhD research project was to identify, characterise and optimise some AA mitigation strategies in the most at-risk widely consumed foods such as potato, coffee and bakery products. Some AA control strategies were selected and investigated for each food category, also considering the main quality characteristics of the final products.
The comprehensive results obtained during the three years of research activity have allowed a deeper knowledge of the traditional and innovative AA mitigation strategies, which can be extremely useful for both the food industry and international authorities. The most promising strategies studied in terms of reduction of AA while maintaining the main quality characteristics of the examined foods were: the application of pulsed electric fields and yeast immersion as pre-treatments of chips for frying; the selection of high roasting degrees for coffee products; the selection of static baking conditions for biscuits; the optimisation of alternative biscuit’ formulations by both the use of chickpea legume flour and of flour from bean with intact cotyledon cell walls.

The essay is an exploration of how the character Mary Magdalene is portrayed in a selection of four bible films, so called hagiopics. The purpose of this essay is to compare the films with each other and to study if the portraying of her distinguishes in a comparison. Is there variations of her character in the four films and if that´s the case, how has it been expressed. The films in this study extend over a period of almost 80 years (1927-2004). Do the films differ in a historical comparison by how they portrait her? This is a film analytic, qualitative, comparing study in the science of religion. The results show that the portraying of Mary Magdalene differs in some ways in a comparison but the overall picture of her remains the same. She is portrayed either as a prostitute or a former prostitute who asks Jesus for forgiveness and finds salvation. The results shows that the way she has been portrayed in the popular culture have given her a roll that doesn´t exist in the Gospels. It seems as if it has become normative to portray her in a one dimensional way in the popular culture. The results show that the picture of her as a former prostitute in hagiopics seems to have become consolidated.

Resumo: Desde Lukács a utilização de personagens históricos vem sendo apontada como uma das características do Romance Histórico. Teorias recentes como as desenvolvidas por Seymour Menton e Linda Hutcheon reafirmam essa característica postulada por Lukács. Machado de Assis há muito deixou de ser, apenas, o autor de célebres contos e romances. Contemporaneamente, o escritor Machado de Assis surge na ficção histórica brasileira contemporânea como Joaquim Maria, personagem ficcional. A intertextualidade com a biografia machadiana está presente em todas as obras que usam o recurso de ficcionalizá-lo, não é somente coincidência onomástica. De acordo com os critérios ado ados: as obras serem lançadas ou reeditadas a partir de 2000 e apresentarem Machado de Assis como personagem, foram selecionadas quatro obras que compõem o corpus da pesquisa: Um amante muito amado: Machado de Assis, de Maria Eli Queiroz, Por onde andará Machado de Assis?, de Ayrton Marcondes, Machado e Juca, de Luiz Antonio Aguiar e A Filha do Escritor, de Gustavo Bernardo. Esses romances podem ser considerados novos romances históricos nos termos de Menton ou metaficções historiográficas de acordo com Hutcheon? A ficção histórica brasileira contemporânea apresenta uma verve paródica? A paródia funciona como uma forma de homenagem? De que forma podemos justificar o crescente número de obras que ficcionalizam a figura do escritor Machado de Assis?

from Italian immigrants. This relation and the characteristics of the popular devotion is what motivated this paper. Its main purpose is to collect data which will allow us to build a religious and cultural itinerary, involving pilgrimage places and devotion to Mother Mary in the central region of RS state, Brazil. O objetivo principal consistiu em reunir subsídios que permitam construir um guia turístico cultural-religioso, envolvendo locais de peregrinação e devoção à Virgem Maria na região central do Rio Grande do Sul/BR. Como recorte geográfico, estabeleceu-se como foco de estudo a região compreendida no espaço geográfico e culturalmente delimitado pelos municípios de Santa Maria e Silveira Martins, pelos motivos já apresentados e porque neles foram selecionados os Santuários e festas que compõem o guia turístico proposto: Catedral Diocesana, Basílica de Nossa Senhora Medianeira, Santuário de Schoenstatt, Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Dores, em Santa Maria; Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Saúde e Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Pompéia, em Silveira Martins. Metodologicamente, usou-se a pesquisa de caráter exploratório, a partir da técnica de investigação bibliográfica, da observação e apreciação qualitativa das informações coletadas. As categorias conceituais discutidas versaram sobre Patrimônio Cultural, Turismo e Identidade Religiosa Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Peregrinação e Romarias. As constatações principais dizem respeito à caracterização da identidade religiosa da região como resultado da propagação do catolicismo popular, caracterizado por uma dimensão devocional, principalmente, e voltado para o culto mariano, expresso atualmente em festas religiosas populares com procissões, romarias, promessas e ex-votos, expressões estas consideradas aqui como herança dos povoadores portugueses, indígenas missioneiros, negros, açorianos e imigrantes italianos.

This essay examines how family-related violence was depicted in art in Sweden during the 70s, 80s and 90s. A major shift in the views of violence within the family and in relationships occurs during this period, which becomes evident through a change in laws but is also visible in an ongoing social debate. Basing my research on a number of works by female artists, depicting violence, I have analysed ways of interpreting and understanding the violence in these images, in relation to the changed views on family, gender roles and violence. The female perspective on violence is often the same as the perspective of the violated, and I have chosen to study female artists, thus assuming that a changed attitude is most clearly reflected in this group.The artists included in the study are Marie-Louise Ekman, Marja Ruta, Kristina Abelli Elander, Maria Lindberg, Maria Friberg and Monica Larsen Dennis, Helene Billgren, Tuija Lindström, Charlotte Gyllenhammar, Anna-Maria Ekstrand and Annika von Hausswolff.The works are grouped into four categories based on a model created by Gregory H. Stanton, which he developed in the survey of genocide. His model depicts ten stages in which violence slowly increases. My division is in four stages and is named structural violence, embodied acts of violence or abuse, crime victims or traces of crime, and consequences of violence. Seen over the period covered by the study, one can observe an increase in the number of images with violent content. The depictions change from being political messages to becoming more provocative and questioning power structures. This is a development which is happening simultaneously with the breakthrough of postmodern art.The artists have in several works been influenced by or relate to images of violence shown in news media and popular culture, a genre that grows during the 1980s home video epoch. But the art not only interacts with other visual media, it also wants to involve the viewer by exploring and questioning values and hierarchies in society.The girl as a symbol of an innocent victim is represented in several of the works, and the girls are given a much greater freedom of action in the artworks than in reality. A concealed aggression is made visible and in several of the works the girls act violators.Depiction of violence has not been treated as a theme or categorized as a separate genre in the arts. To the extent that I have found analyses of works containing violence in the arts, there has been a hesitative attitude and the images have been perceived as simple in a communicative or interpretive aspect. In my study, I come to another conclusion, Seeing that the processing of violence in the artistic works creates a counter-image to stereotypical and simplified images in media and and so helps us to see the normative values, power imbalances, behaviours and expectations that are often the basis for acts of violence.

L’opera di Hannah Arendt arriva al cuore della questione tanto annosa quanto complessa del Male qualche anno in seguito all’evento del Totalitarismo e dell’Olocausto.
Senza mai negare completamente la forte eredità kantiana delle sue riflessioni, Arendt individua innanzitutto la contingenza che fa del male non più qualcosa di eccezionale o radicale, ma una parte permanente e “normale” della condizione umana. Il male, affermerà l'autrice (Arendt, 1963), è spesso frutto di un’azione impensata: è l’assenza del pensiero, del pensiero critico, infatti, a generare il male. Ma c’è un “in più” che accompagna il suo interesse per il male e che compone e completa, se vogliamo, la “mappa” del suo pensiero.
Questo ulteriore elemento del pensiero arendtiano è ciò che ci consente di definire l’autrice una “pensatrice spaziale”, in particolare non appena rivolgiamo lo sguardo alle opere in cui dedica la sua attenzione alle specificità dei luoghi dove il male esercita il suo potere. Il male non è mai isolato, giunge ad ipotizzare Arendt, ma progredisce e trova sostegno nella vulnerabilità degli ambienti – pubblici e privati – dell’esperienza umana (Arendt, 1958).
Ecco, dunque, dove collochiamo la riflessione che interroga l’educazione e, in questo caso specifico, gli ambienti e i contesti educativi coinvolti nella definizione di percorsi esistenziali emancipativi, affinché questi ultimi non coincidano “necessariamente” con l’esistente e con la preoccupante escalation di violenza che coinvolge i diversi piani del vivere sociale.
Da questo punto di vista, l’“eredità pedagogica” arendtiana è ciò che consente il rinnovo di una sfida educativa tanto attuale quanto fragile e precaria: l’azione orientata alla tutela degli ambienti dove abbiamo – dovremmo avere – occasione di rinvigorire quel pensiero che smaschera e, se può, "resiste" alla banalità del male.The thesis focuses on Hannah Arendt’s thought and the implications that some key concepts - such as violence, evil, action and “vita active” - have for the “educational event” and, more generally, for the pedagogical reflection. The principal theoretical questions are thus focused on the diffusion of violence in the human and educative experience and, specifically, on the complex relation between evil and educational contexts. A final part of the dissertation analyzes and reinterprets some Arendt' s proposals about the role of the education (and of the school) in order to safeguard an educational context as an inclusive, plural and democratic space.

Tutkin pro gradu -työssäni ihmissuhdediskursseja mediapersoona Maria Veitolan Trendi-lehteen kirjoittamissa kolumneissa. Keskeisimmät tutkimusongelmani ovat, mitä ihmissuhteet merkitsevät Veitolalle ja millä tavoilla hän merkityksellistää itseään suhteessa muihin. Selvitän myös Veitolan kirjoituksissa esiintyvien verbien perusteella, näkyykö elämäntilanteen muutos hänen kielenkäytössään. Aineistoni koostuu vuosina 2009 ja 2012 kirjoitetuista kolumneista, joista vanhemmat Veitola on kirjoittanut ennen kuin tuli raskaaksi ja uudemmat raskaana ollessaan.
Työni teoreettinen tausta pohjautuu diskurssintutkimukseen. Sen avulla pystytään tutkimaan kieltä yhteiskunnallisen vaikuttamisen välineenä ja kielenkäyttöä sosiaalisena toimintana. Diskurssi tarkoittaa työssäni puhetapaa eli sitä, miten Veitola kuvaa ihmissuhteitaan ja mitä ne sen perusteella hänelle merkitsevät. Lisäksi olen laskenut hänen kolumneistaan muun muassa puheakti-, aistihavainto- ja liikeverbit selvittääkseni, voiko niitä tarkastelemalla todentaa muutosta kirjoittajan kielenkäytössä elämäntilanteen muuttumisen myötä.
Aineiston perusteella olen luokitellut Veitolan ihmissuhteet tiettyjen diskurssien eli puhetapojen ilmentäjiksi. Esille nousee kuusi päädiskurssia, joita ovat kirjoittaja neuvonantajana, epävarmuusdiskurssi, vuorovaikutusdiskurssi, kirjoittaja feministisenä maailmanparantajana, ulkonäködiskurssi ja ajanviettodiskurssi. Päädiskurssit muodostuvat sillä periaatteella, miten Veitola merkityksellistää itseään suhteessa muihin ihmisiin. Hänen kolumneissaan muita ihmisiä edustavat ystävät, perheenjäsenet, sukulaiset ja seurustelukumppanit sekä näiden ulkopuolelle jäävät henkilöt, joista käytän nimitystä tuntemattomat. Tulokset osoittavat, että ennen raskautta vuonna 2009 Maria Veitolan ihmissuhteissa keskeisiä diskursseja olivat ajanvietto, ulkonäkökeskeisyys ja keskustelukumppanit, mutta raskauden aikana vuonna 2012 hän keskittyi enemmän itseensä ja perheeseensä.
Tutkimukseni yhtenä hypoteesina oli se, että Maria Veitola käyttää kirjoituksissaan värikästä ja rikasta kieltä, sillä hänen julkisuuskuvansakin on hyvin räväkkä. Hypoteesini piti paikkansa, sillä Veitolan kolumneissa esiintyi paljon metaforia ja tavanomaisesta poikkeavia ilmauksia (virttynyt villalapanen, öljysika, naapurin muidu, örkkimörkki). Toinen hypoteesini oli, että Veitolan kielenkäytössä on tapahtunut muutoksia elämäntilanteen muutoksen myötä, ja tämäkin piti paikkansa. Ennen raskautta ilmestyneissä kolumneissa kommunikaatiota ja vuorovaikutusta muiden ihmisten kanssa kuvailevia puheaktiverbejä oli selvästi enemmän (91 kpl) kuin raskauden aikana kirjoitetuissa kolumneissa (33 kpl). Aistihavainto-, eli kuulo-, näkö- ja tuntoaisteihin liittyvät verbit puolestaan lisääntyivät raskauden myötä 23:sta 41:een. Liikeverbien osalta merkittäviä muutoksia ei tapahtunut. Tutkimukseni perusteella kirjoittajan roolin muuttumista voi siis tarkastella hänen käyttämiensä verbien kautta. Veitola on raskauden aikana muuttunut aktiivisesta toimijasta sivustaseuraajaksi ja ympäristönsä havainnoijaksi, ja hänen sosiaalinen elämänsä on rajoittuneempaa kuin ennen raskautta.

Viva Maria: dez anos, é um estudo que se propôs, a partir de uma abordagem sócio-histórica, a problematizar a trajetória dos dez anos, de 1992 a 2002, da Casa de Apoio Viva Maria e a caracterizar, do ponto de vista sociodemográfico e epidemiológico, as mulheres abrigadas nessa casa, nesse período. A Casa de Apoio Viva Maria é uma Unidade especializada da Secretaria Municipal da Saúde de Porto Alegre. É uma casa-abrigo para mulheres e seus filhos menores em situação de violência, inaugurada em setembro de 1992. Para a descrição dessa trajetória utilizou-se a memória dos sujeitos sociais, trabalhadoras e usuárias que vivenciaram o cotidiano da casa-abrigo, desde a sua implantação até 2002. As informações obtidas através das trabalhadoras e usuárias, agregaram-se às da pesquisa documental nos arquivos formais e informais da Casa de Apoio Viva Maria. Essas fontes evidenciam, através do perfil a precária inserção socioeconômica das usuárias e a importância da casa-abrigo como um espaço, no qual as mulheres, em situação de violência doméstica, encontram refúgio seguro, apoio psicológico, jurídico, social e novas perspectivas de vida. O estudo mostra a necessidade de constituição de serviços como este, como uma política pública de saúde, atuando como retaguarda dentro de uma rede de atendimento às mulheres em situação de violência doméstica, em um sistema de referência e contra-referência
