Abstract:
Abstract Background: Robot nipple sparing mastectomy (RNSM) has emerged for breast cancer treatment and for risk reducing mastectomy in women who have high risk of pathogenic variants. Even though several studies have reported that RNSM is a feasible procedure, some argue that RNSM are only performed by several specialized surgeons and there is only limited data reporting about the oncologic outcome and patient reported outcome (PRO). Recently, the United States Food and Drug Administration and several surgeons have warned that robot breast surgery should be performed only by specialized surgeons and the benefits, risks, and alternatives of all available treatment options should be discussed with patients to make the most informed treatment decision. The Korea Robot-Endoscopy Minimal Access Breast Surgery Study Group (KoREa-BSG) has been established to evaluate, standardize, and developing education program this cutting-edge procedure. We designed a multicenter prospective cohort study of Mastectomy with Reconstruction including Robot Endoscopic Surgery (MARRES) to report surgical outcome, PRO, and oncologic outcome. Methods: The MARRES study is a multi-institution cohort study that prospectively collects data from patients undergoing mastectomy and reconstruction. Patients' inclusion criteria are as below; adult women over the age of 19, with breast cancer or high risk of breast cancer (patients with a BRCA1/2 mutation, TP53 mutation, and PALB2 mutation), who scheduled therapeutic or prophylactic mastectomy, and who want immediate reconstruction. Surgical outcomes, oncologic outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and PRO were collected. The primary endpoints were postoperative complication rates in postoperative 30 days and Clavien-Dindo grade of postoperative complications in postoperative 180 days. The secondary endpoints were recurrence free survival in postoperative 5 years, cancer incidence rate in postoperative 5 years for those who underwent risk reducing mastectomy, patient's satisfaction within preoperative 4 weeks and results within postoperative 6 months to 12 months, surgeon's satisfaction about the postoperative results in postoperative 6 months, and cost-effectiveness of the definitive surgery. Patient recruitment will be finished in April 2025 and the goal number of enrolled patients is 2,000. Discussion: This study will provide evidence of the surgical outcome, PRO, and oncologic outcome of RNSM and endoscopic NSM compared to conventional NSM. Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT04585074. Registered April 8, 2020. Making the Public with Things sería el contra-slogan.

Abstract:
Marble veneers are parietal or floor coverings that were recurrently used in the Roman world. Opus sectile pavements or marble slab coverings are two types of ornaments which offered an alternative to mosaics or painted decor, and which were used to conceal smaller dimension stones of lesser value, or concrete floors. The study of marble veneers is a research area that appeared in Italy in the 1990s and is still a matter of interest to the researchers. At the same time, the subject it still quite marginal in France, and there are few studies. Our study is mainly devoted to the marble lots that can be associated with the monumental complex of the forum, found during the recent excavations of La Merci (2011-2015), and the past excavations of the Basilica (1934-1936) and the sewer of the Dominicans (1921). The study has been extended in order to include all public and private buildings in the city, and takes into account various marble lots such as that of Corridor H od the house of the Peacock (about 4, 500 fragments). The study is based on five principal guidelines:• The identification of marbles and other stones (macroscopic identification)• The identification of the decors, their restitution and an attempt to replace into their context the marble veneers in every deposit• A reflection on trade, commercial exchanges and an estimation of the costs of these sets• The study of the marbles of Vaison-la-Romaine will lead us to a historical reflection which will examine questions related to the luxury and the prestige of the city• The question of the dismantling of various monuments and the study of the deposits as such

Kubasiewicz, Laura M. "Monitoring European pine martens (Martes martes) in Scottish forested landscapes." Thesis, University of Stirling, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/1893/21913.

Abstract:
Monitoring the distribution, abundance and demography of species is vital to ensure that conservation efforts are appropriate and effective. Monitoring enables evaluation of responses to natural or human disturbance, highlights the need for management interventions and enables these interventions to be assessed and refined. The methods used largely depend on the specific aim of monitoring and behaviour of the target species, as well as the time and spatial scale that monitoring is required to cover. The European pine marten (Martes martes) is one of few remaining mammalian predators native to the UK. Since persecution in the early 19th century resulted in their near extinction, pine martens have recovered part of their former range in Scotland. Their recent recovery and an overlap in territory with vulnerable prey species such as the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) make the collection of accurate baseline data and subsequent monitoring of population trends vital for conservation efforts. Faecal counts have traditionally been used to provide a relative measure of population density for pine marten. In most cases, absolute measures of population density require individual identification. Non-invasive genotyping can provide this information but the quality of DNA from these samples is often poor. Here, the process is refined for pine marten faeces (scats) and hair samples. DNA degradation increased significantly for scats exposed to rainfall, with the rate of DNA amplification success reduced by 38% over a 16 day period. Success rates for hair samples were higher when more hair follicles were included in the analysis. Population densities were estimated for three forests in Scotland using a robust combination of non-invasive genotyping of hair samples and spatially explicit capture recapture modelling. Population density estimates of 0.07 (95% CI 0.03 - 0.16) to 0.38 km-2 (95% CI 0.11 - 1.07) were obtained which are within the range of previous estimates for forests elsewhere in Scotland. The first attempt to quantify the relationship between traditional scat counts and home range size was then conducted; a significant negative correlation exists but only when population density is relatively low. Previous studies suggest that pine martens in Western Europe are less forest dependent than those in Eastern Europe. Results from this thesis support this, with populations at the highest density found at sites with intermediate forest cover. This tolerance of lower forest cover is also apparent in the diet. Despite a preference for Myodes voles in populations in Eastern Europe, those in Western Europe show a strong preference for Microtus voles as well as a higher level of frugivory. We assess the autumn diet of four populations in Scotland assess the effect of forest cover and sex on the diet. There was no evidence of differential consumption of Microtus voles or birds between the sexes. Our analysis shows that frugivory is influenced by forest fragmentation, with a 5-fold increase in the occurrence of fruit (from 2% to 10%) as forest cover increased from 4% to 47%. Diversionary feeding has been suggested as a management technique to reduce the depredation of capercaillie by pine martens. This thesis presents the first attempt to quantify the success and cost-efficacy of diversionary feeding for a range of problems (crop damage, threatened safety, livestock depredation) across 30 experimental trials. The strategy proved more effective when targeted towards food-limited populations, and when aiming to alleviate habitat damage or risks to human safety rather than depredation. A novel decision-making framework was developed to aid managers with the initial planning of the strategy and its subsequent implementation within an adaptive format. Further to this, the feasibility of using diversionary feeding with a view to reduce the depredation of capercaillie by pine martens was assessed. Questionnaire responses were collected from people who have provided food for pine martens throughout Scotland. A positive reaction to food was observed, with 58% of respondents reporting that initial visits occurred within one week of placement and 46% reporting that subsequent visits were received daily. These results suggest that diversionary feeding may be a viable option for pine marten management, although testing of its impact on capercaillie productivity would be required.

Quaresma, Dos Santos Luis. "Super inertial tides over irregular narrow shelves." Thesis, Brest, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012BRES0074/document.

Abstract:
Oceanic internal tides are ubiquitous dynamic features, densely observed near continental margins. Their sea-surface signature is frequently printed in remote sensing images, showing complex wave patterns over irregular shelves such as the West-Iberian margin. Their origin and spatial distribution is the subject of the present work, which explores the physics behind the generation and propagation of these baroclinic modes, over submarine canyon and promontory shelf features. It focuses on the study of the super-inertial tide solution by the use of numerical model simulations of realistic and idealized topography configurations, under homogeneous, two-layers and continuous stratified water columns. The ocean basins are flanked by shallow water continental margins that divert ocean tides from their natural course. Coastal tide waves are then reflected and/or trapped in several possible wave modes, function of the latitude, forcing frequency, topographic relief and water column stratification. Different shelf features, such as submarine canyons, valleys, promontories and bumps can shape continental margins to create abrupt along-shelf slopes that become effective internal tide generation sites

This manuscript presents the results of a numerical and experimental study on the internal tide and the interaction of the internal tide with a continental slope in a stratified fluid in the case of a super-critical slope. The numerical study is based on theMITgcm code, which solves the non-linear and not-hydrostatic Navier-Stokes equations by employing a technique of finite volume. The experiments are carried on the big tank’s rotating of Coriolis, LEGI by using the techniques PIV and CIV. We studied the propagation and the reflection of the internal tide in the presence of rotation and without rotation. Our outstanding results are the generation of internal waves beams at the frequency harmonic of the frequency of forcing, by interaction of the incident beams and reflected beams on the bottom of the tank, the occurrence of a parametric instability sub-harmonic in the incidental beam and the definition and the study of the width of the beam according to the parameters of forcing and of rotation

Abstract:
The pine marten (Martes martes) has been long considered a prototypical forest-specialist, but recent studies carried out in western Europe have pointed out that the species is more generalist in terms of habitat preferences than previously reported. In the western plain of the River Po residual woods mainly consist of small patches or riparian woods merged in intensively cultivated areas; nonetheless in this apparently unsuitable area the number of roadkill pine martens has increased exponentially since the beginning of the century. The expansion of the pine marten in agricultural lowlands provided an invaluable opportunity for investigating its ecological requirements and the environmental factors that shape this species’ range. To assess the actual level of pine marten penetration in lowland areas of north-western Italy, a non-invasive, faecal mDNA-based genetic method was applied at landscape scale, demonstrating that the pine marten has colonised the overall study area north of the River Po, which probably is acting as a barrier. Pine marten distribution suggests that expansion has mainly followed a north-to-south direction, following the course of major rivers as natural corridors of expansion. The unexpected high frequency of haplotypes of the central-northern European phylogroup supported the hypothesis of Alpine or trans-Alpine populations as sources of pine marten expansion. Based on presence-absence data, Species Distribution Models were applied to identify the main factors driving the colonisation by the pine marten of the western River Po plain and predict its potential south- and eastwards expansion. The distribution of residual wood patches and availability of suitable riparian corridors played a major role in shaping the potential expansion area of the pine marten in agricultural lowlands. This was high only for the western part of the River Po plain and, secondarily, for the pine wood patches bordering the Adriatic coast. The hypothesis that lowland woods may represent marginal habitats for the pine marten was not supported by the data collected about both its density and macronutrient balance. In the valley of the River Ticino, microsatellite analysis of faecal DNA allowed to point out one of the highest densities ever recorded in continental Europe. The high genetic relatedness of identified individuals suggested that the agricultural matrix may act as a barrier to the dispersal of juveniles. Genotyping allowed also to test for the effectiveness of a camera-trapping-based method (Random Encounter Model) for assessing pine marten density. The REM underestimated population size by ca. 40%. Dietary macronutrient ratios of pine marten differed from the target, as assessed by the meta-analysis of available diet data for Europe, to an almost negligible extent, confirming that plasticity in feeding behaviour plays a major role in pine marten expansion in agricultural areas. Genetic surveys confirmed that pine marten expansion is coinciding with a reduction in stone marten range or abundance. When syntopic, stone marten exclusion from woodland by the pine marten is a common output, although the mechanisms underlying the higher competitive ability of the latter are still unclear. By camera-trapping, we tested the hypothesis that spatial and temporal segregation may favour the coexistence of the pine marten with the other mesocarnivores to a wider extent than that of the stone marten. Results from two study areas suggested that pine marten higher competitive ability with respect to the stone marten could be the indirect consequence of its greater plasticity in activity patterns. As different guild compositions result into different interspecific relations among coexisting species, our findings need to be further tested across different communities and study areas.

The purpose of this research is the review of the Social Service history of São José dos Campos, during specifics histories marks. To review this history, it was established the following axis: history, professional basis and work, comparing these themes with contemporary authors, following the development process of the profession and its historic context. The developed historic marks are based on the decades of 1960 and 1970, decade of 1980; and the decade of 1990, respectively. We can conclude that the Social Service history on the city has, in certain periods, a particular profile, because it appeared in the 60´s, but in the past few years, with a bigger knowledge sharing between the professionals from different locations, search for professional grown and the insertion of the professionals in some organizations, the profession has been developed in national level. With the promulgation of LOAS (Lei Orgânica da Assistência Social), which purpose is the building and improvement of Social Assistance as a public politics, the cities, in order to get money from the federal government, must be aligned with this law. Through the involvement with the LOAS in the city scope, the Social Service work increases and also the insertion of the profession in the society. This history and its knowledge are necessary for the professional formation and it is important during the professional life, because it shows how the Social Service started and was organized in São José dos Campos

This paper proposes using the complementarity of text and writing an ethnographic photoethnographic do some reading about the displacement of the subjects in the urban towns of Uruguaiana (BRA) and Paso de los Libres (ARG), Deliverance (BRA) and Rivera (URU). When people move on space planning, move with them cultural and material goods, ways of thinking and seeing the world. These guys crossing the bridge or take the line with them all their references to the world allowing that culture can be seen as a make, which can be produced and reproduced. In these various shifts for a diversity of views on the border, so try to understand how individuals who live in or are just passing through it, move in this space, how they relate from territorial marks, discussing the concepts of anthropological place and no place proposed by Marc Augé (1994). To present and describe the seizures made from the resort to fieldwork as photoethnographic founding of this research methodology, and this study included in discussions of audiovisual anthropology.
