Maria Cristina de Melo Marin, nasceu em São Paulo (capital) e cursou a graduação em Ciências Sociais na PUC (Rio de Janeiro) e o Mestrado em Antropologia Social no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social do Museu Nacional da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Durante seu vínculo ao PPGAS desenvolveu pesquisas em emprego urbano e trabalho por conta propria, alimentação e qualidade de vida. Vinculou-se ao Departamento de Sociologia e Antropologia do Centro de Humanidades da então Universidade Federal de Campina Grande – Campus II – atualmente UFCG. Desenvolveu pesquisas na área de Agricultura Familiar, Movimentos Sociais Rurais e Urbanos e Gênero e lecionou disciplinas de antropologia na graduação e pós-graduação. Orientou trabalhos de conclusão de curso e mestrado em sociologia rural, com ênfase no desenvolvimento de pesquisas qualitativas. Participou da vida institucional do antigo Campus II da UFPB (que deu origem em 2002 a criação da UFCG), ocupando os cargos de Coordenadora de Curso de Ciências Sociais, Vice-Diretora e Diretora do Centro de Humanidades.

Abstract:

Im Aufsatz führt die Verfasserin die Analyse eines Fragments aus dem Evangelium nach Philippus 59, 23-33, bekannt als Mariä Empfängnis (nach H.M. Schenke und W. Myszor) durch. Sie stellt fest, dass der gnostische Autor viele gegenwärtig berührten Themen aus dem Bereich der Mariologie ergriffen hat (Ignatius von Antiochien, Justin der Märtyrer, Irenäus von Lyon, Klemens von Alexandrien, die Autoren von Apokryphen). Es sind: Mariä Empfängnis durch den Heiligen Geist, Jungfräulichkeit der heiligen Maria und Maria als die neue Eva. Die Verfasserin stellt fest, dass der Gnostiker in erster Frage die Gegenstellung zur bekannten Überlieferung des Evangeliums (Mt 1, 18-26; Lk 1, 26-38) und zu den Aussagen der frühchristlichen Schriftsteller, sog. „Hebräer” genommen hat, indem er argumentiert, dass ein irdisches Weib von einem Weib nicht empfangen sein kann. In zwei anderen Fragen nähert er sich zur orthodoxen Stellung, als er die volle Jungfräulichkeit der Gottesmutter Maria anerkannt (davon zeugt der Ausdruck „Maria ist die Jungfrau, die von keiner Kraft befleckt wurde” und betrachtet sie als die neue Eva – die Mutter des befreiten Menschengeschlechts (im Lichte der Aussage 72, 16-21).

Abstract:

On July 26, 1895, Pierre Curie and Maria Sklodowska were married. On June 23, 1903, Maria presented her doctoral dissertation “Investigation of radioactive substances” at the Sorbonne, which described the results of hard work in previous years, including the isolation of new elements - polonium and radium. In the same 1903, Marie and Pierre Curie were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics “in recognition of the exceptional services they rendered to science through the joint research of radiation phenomena discovered by Professor Henri Becquerel”. She became the first female - laureate and remained the only one until 1935, when her daughter Irene was awarded the Nobel Prize. In 1911, Marie Curie received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry “for outstanding achievements in the development of chemistry: the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this remarkable element”. Marie Curie became the first and to date the only woman in the world -twice the Nobel Prize winner. After many years, the proposal of Marie and Pierre Curie on the use of radium in medicine has been implemented at the present time. Studied and proved its effectiveness in the treatment of bone metastases of prostate cancer. The merits of these scientists before the whole world can hardly be overestimated. Humanity gratefully keeps a good memory for great discoveries for the benefit of people.

W erze patrystycznej chętnie pochylano się nad etymologią imion biblijnych, ponieważ Ojcowie Kościoła byli przekonani, że imiona używane w Biblii zawierają ukryte znaczenie, jak utrzymywał św. Augustyn w De doctrina christiana 2, 38, 56-57 (por. PL 34, 61-62). Na Wschodzie etymologią imion zajmował się obszernie Orygenes, na Zachodzie zaś św. Hieronim ze Strydonu. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia wybrane patrystyczne interpretacje na temat imienia Maria, opierając się głównie na przekazie Hieronima (por. Liber de nominibus hebraicis, PL 23, 771-858), który jako pierwszy spośród Ojców Kościoła zachodniego zajął się wyprowadzaniem etymologii nazw własnych. Etymologie zaproponowane przez Strydończyka (Maria = illuminatrix/illuminata/illuminant me isti, smyrna maris, stella maris, amarum mare, domina) konfrontujemy z dzisiejszym stanem wiedzy o językach semickich i zestawiamy je z greckimi Onomastica sacra. W podpunkcie ostatnim zaś analizujemy wybrane pohieronimowe interpretacje tegoż imienia (Ambroży z Mediolanu, Eucheriusz z Lyonu, Izydor z Sewilli).

ABSTRACTIn contrast to what its title suggests, Niccolò Jommelli's Cajo Mario (Rome, 1746) has little to do with the consul Caius Marius (157–86 BC). Instead, the opera transposes the myth of Iphigenia in Aulis to the Roman Republic, having Marius, his daughter, her lover and her villainous suitor assume the roles of Agamemnon, Iphigenia, Achilles and Ajax respectively. Thus configured, Jommelli's opera held the stage until 1772, enjoying fifteen revivals with most of the original music intact – a record in the composer's oeuvre. This essay seeks to clarify the reasons for that remarkable success. By juxtaposing Jommelli's score and Gaetano Roccaforte's libretto with a set of six paintings by the contemporary artist Antonio Joli (c1700–1777), it aims to show how Cajo Mario shares compositional strategies with a connoisseur's genre in the fine arts: the capriccio. In keeping with Joli's capricci, which all deploy the same structural motif, Cajo Mario incorporates a narrative structure through which the ‘parallel universe’ of related works imposes itself on the opera's setting and action, making spectators wonder – as a character does in the course of the opera – whether they are gazing at an event from republican Rome or reliving a legend from ancient Greece.

Abstract:

Artykuł jest literaturoznawczym spojrzeniem na prawie zupełnie nieznaną sylwetkę Marii Szetkiewiczówny, żony Henryka Sienkiewicza, i jej korespondencję z matką Wandą Szetkiewiczową. Listy córki do matki ukazują oczytaną, ambitną i pragnącą różnorodnej nauki młodą niewiastę. Ponadto Maria okazuje się kobietą nowoczesną, samodzielną i niezależną, co w XIX w. należało do rzadkości. Pokazują też matkę jako kobietę spokojną, zrównoważoną, kochającą i decyzyjną. Dominującym tematem korespondencji obu pań jest zdrowie, a właściwie jego brak. Celem artykułu jest zatem literaturoznawcza analiza i interpretacja tej korespondencji – Maria jawi się w niej jako kobieta wewnętrznie silna, stanowcza, a przy tym wrażliwa, delikatna i cierpiąca.

Istota pedagogiki Marii Montessori sprowadza się do stwierdzenia, że każde dziecko jest inne, powinno rozwijać się według swoich możliwości, kompetencji i umiejętności – indywidualnych planów rozwojowych tak, aby ich właściwa realizacja umożliwiała mu naukę samodzielną i efektywniejszą. Dziecko wychowane w duchu pedagogiki Marii Montessori będzie w przyszłości osobą samodzielną, odpowiedzialną za siebie i świat, pracowitą. Rozwój każdego dziecka dokonuje się według indywidualnego „planu rozwoju”. Dlatego nie można z góry stworzyć systemu wychowawczego i dydaktycznego bez uwzględnienia indywidualnych cech dziecka. Wychowaniu muzycznemu Maria Montessori poświęciła wiele uwagi. Ważne jest łączenie muzyki z ruchem, który jest ważnym czynnikiem rozwoju dziecka.

Maria Jarosz korzystając z danych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego dokonała unikalnych i wnikliwych analiz zjawiska samobójstw. Abstract:

I Haderslev findes to varianter af et religiøst billede fra slutningen af 1700-tallet af Jomfru Maria og Jesusbarnet. De befinder sig henholdsvis i den katolske Sankt Marie Kirke og i Museum Sønderjylland. Det kan påvises, at billedet stammer fra et andagtsbillede fra 1642 i den tyske valfartsby Kevelaer. I analysen og fortolkningen af billedet inddrages derfor elementer af den katolsketeologi om Jomfru Maria. Kevelaerbilledet må være blevet indført til Haderslev, men før det blev genudgivet her, har det undergået visse forandringer for ikke at komme i konflikt med den lutherske teologi. Der sammenlignes med eksempler på kirkelige tekster og kirkekunst, som har været igennem den samme procedure.

Rodzina jest pierwszym środowiskiem wychowawczym. Rodzice i najbliższa rodzina mają największy wpływ na wychowanie i edukację młodego pokolenia. Jednak wychowanie nie kończy się na wychowaniu rodzinnym, a jest to dopiero początek samodzielnej drogi we wspólnocie. W artykule zostało ukazane rodzinne środowisko wychowawcze w rodzinie Kunowskich. Kanwą tej analizy były wspomnienia Marii Kunowskiej-Porębnej – jedynej córki prof. Stefana Kunowskiego pedagoga Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego. Maria była wychowywana przez rodziców, ale także przez środowisko rodzinne: dziadkowie, stryjek, ciocie, tzw. „przyszywana ciocia”, to jednak największy wpływ w jej wychowaniu odegrali rodzice. Najlepsze relacje miała z matką. Mimo trudnych relacji Marii z ojcem, istniała miedzy nimi więź emocjonalna. Zawdzięczała mu wiele, choć w wielu kwestiach się z nim nie zgadzała, co prowadziło do nieporozumień.

A professora Maria Cândida Moraes estuda há mais de 20 anos a educação brasileira e mundial. Trabalhou nos programas de Pós-graduação em Educação nas universidades Católica de Brasília e PUC de São Paulo. Foi professora visitante na OEA em Washington, nos Estados Unidos e Universidade de Barcelona, na Espanha. Em 2019, recebeu o prêmio Ricardo Marin, da Associação de Criatividade da Espanha, por suas contribuições nesta área. Nesse mesmo ano, a professora Maria Cândida participou do II Congresso Internacional de Políticas Públicas, promovido pelo Mestrado em Gestão de PolíticasPúblicas da Univali. Após a sua conferência, concedeu uma entrevista ao jornalista e professor da Univali, Carlos Golembiewski. Ela está preocupada com a qualidade da educação brasileira e com o que está por vir.

Sandra Laugier was present, preserved the transcription, and proposed that we publish the text here. It was translated into English by Marie Kerguelen Feldblyum LeBlevennec and lightly edited by Jacques Bouveresse, Juliet Floyd, and Sandra Laugier. Themes covered in the interview include the question of Wittgenstein’s importance in contemporary philosophy, Putnam’s development with respect to realism, especially in philosophy of mathematics, and the differences and motivations for realism in mathematics, physics, and ethics. Abstract French is a heavily postdetermining iambic language. This also implies that, in contrast to German, the subject-predicate sequence is dominant even though this is not a relationship of determination in the strict sense of the term. Despite the predominant iambic intonation pattern, postposition of rhematic subjects is only possible under certain conditions in modern French. This contrasts with Italian or Spanish in cases like Domani viene Maria/Mañana llega María. A French equivalent Demain vient Marie instead of Marie vient demain or also Demain Marie vient is no longer common today for reasons to be discussed. The central question to be answered is “By which means does French resolve the conflict of linearisation arising from the tension between the dominant rising intonation pattern and the ‘phobia’ of subject inversion even when the subject is rhematic?” A comparative analysis of translations is a viable method for discovering how French marks rhematic subjects when simple postposition is not a possible strategy. This approach shows how constructions with the subject in postposition, for instance in Italian, are rendered in their French translation.

O livro “Language Endangerment and Endangered Languages” é o quinto número da série INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES OF LATIN AMERICA (ILLA), que edita a Universidade de Leiden. Michael Morrow was an acute reader of medieval literature, and one who knew that every medieval text is a potential source of information for the modern performer and musicologist. A striking example is provided by the 453 chapters of a fifteenth-century anthology now in the library of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. This imposing book appears to be one of the largest collections of Marian miracle-stories in the world. Assembled in the year 1409, perhaps in East Anglia, it contains forty-nine chapters about Marian devotions, liturgies, plainsongs and prayers, among them several texts that were set by English composers: Salve regina (there are ten chapters devoted to this chant alone), Alma redemptoris mater, Gaude flore virginali, Sancta Maria non est tibi similis, Salve sancta parens, Gaude Maria virgo, Ave maris Stella and Gaude virgo mater Christi.

Abstract:

L'étude statistique des langues, surtout celle du lexique, a une longue tradition et compte un nombre important d'ouvrages. Tout récemment, un groupe de linguistes de l'lnstitut de Linguistique de l'Université de Bucarest nous a donné un ouvrage consacré à cette discipline mais, d'après les mots mêmes de ses auteurs, conçu comme devant être différent de tous les précédents. Son but est de donner un lexique des langues romanes, défini comme représentatif (pour cette notion voir p. 578), basé sur des critères identiques po ur tous les idiomes examinés (pp. 11-12) et strictement synchroniques (p. 12). Il s'agit d'une sélection d'un certain nombre de mots considérés représentatifs, et de critères destinés à réduire le plus possible le moment subjectif (p. 578). Les idiomes examinés sont le roumain, l'italien, le sarde, les dialectes rhéto-romans (appelés de ce terme dans tout l'ouvrage), le français, l'occitan, le catalán, l'espagnol et le portugais. Les unités lexicales sélectionnées vont de 2300 à 2600 (p. 15). Tout en étant bien entendu conscients des limites de la méthode statistique (p. 13), les auteurs déclarent en toute honnêteté préférer le risque de présenter une oeuvre peut-être imparfaite plutôt que renoncer au travail (p. 16).
