Nursing Programme, Malmö University: Health and Society: Department of Nursing, 2006.Clinical supervision has developed within nursing and is defined as a supportive forum where the opportunity is given to reflect upon experiences, thoughts and feelings in different caring situations. During nursing education clinical supervision is introduced in order to give the students an opportunity to develop an ethically correct behaviour in their profession and to combine theory and practice. At Health and Society, Malmö University, there are clinical supervision groups with only male participants, in this study denominated homogeneous groups. The aim of the study was to map out the male students’ experiences and expectations of participating in a homogeneous clinical supervision group and how they experienced that their participation affected their professional identity. The study is qualitative and semi structured interviews were carried out with six men who had participated in a homogeneous group. Content analysis was used to analyse the findings. The following categories emerged; the significance of structure, atmosphere, topic of discussion, personality and the composition of the group. The expectations among the participants have been high as well as low and the participation has had small effect on their professional identity. The received results indicate that plenty of factors have been conclusive for how the group has functioned. It emerged that, apart from gender, the participants’ personalities were of great importance for the functioning of the group. Full textThe mandate is a tormented contract. Fixed in a broad definition and shot through an uncontrolled diversification, it is currently hard to determine what a mandate is. The family context is symptomatic of this identity crisis. The mandate is a tool which is particularly used by the members of the family, as it is suitable for organizing the family relationships, as well as for anticipating events, such as vulnerability or death, that may create some difficulties. As a contract, it is not excessively burdensome to implement, and it deals easily with the particular features of the context. If it is normally the result of the will of two persons, the principal and the agent, nevertheless, the family context revealed that the mandate could be imposed by a family member or an external authority, such as the law or the judge. The mandate is thus directly corrupted in its essential characteristics : its source (the will) or its effects (the representation). Those original phenomena test the mandate and prompt to rethink the notion. The particularities of the family context give it a very specific ring. Therefore, it is an appealing idea to create a singled out family mandate, in order to divest from an elusive legal definition, and to shape the notion using its various applications. However, such an approach would be damaging the contract, feeding the hyperspecialization to which it is subjected. That is why another course must be taken : the mandate must be redefined. Once given a clear and precise definition, the mandate will be able to fulfill itself in many areas, without suffering any distorsion. Rebuilt on solid criteria, allowing to sort out good classifications from usurpations, the mandate will be liberated from its current fungibility and from the numerous confusions which are now detrimental to its correct understanding

Detta examensarbete bygger på en fallstudie av en manlig pedagog i förskolan. En aktuell fråga i dagens debatt är bristen på män i förskolan, vilket medför att en närmare granskning av manliga pedagoger kontra kvinnliga pedagoger är befogad. Frågan är på vilket sätt manliga pedagogers tänkande och beteende skiljer sig från kvinnliga pedagogers motsvarande? Syftet med den här undersökningen är att med hjälp av videoinspelning i detalj analysera en manlig pedagogs arbete tillsammans med barnen på en förskola. Speciellt söker jag vilka uppgifter en manlig pedagog väljer att utföra tillsammans med barnen, hur han väljer att utföra dem och vilket språk han använder. Den empiriska basen är observationer (videofilm) av en manlig pedagogs arbete under två dagar. Observationerna kompletterades även med en intervju för att genom den få en bredare bild och ett sammanhang utifrån respondentens perspektiv.
Undersökningen visar i sammanfattning att den manlige pedagogen skiljer sig i ganska hög grad från sina kvinnliga pedagoger och deras arbetssätt. När han valde aktiviteter själv prioriterade han att busa med barnen och själv leka barn. Han deltog i leken som en jämlik, medan den kvinnliga pedagogen behöll sin pedagogroll även i leken. Språkmässigt använder han sig av färre ord och även av en mer direkt kommunikation. Han ser sig själv som ett komplement i den kvinnodominerade pedagoggruppen. Genom att vara ett komplement ser han till att bidra med, enligt honom, typiskt manliga saker och aktiviteter.

Abstract
This written examination is built upon a case study of a male teacher in preschool. One question that is a burning issue right now is the lack of men in preschool, which implies that a closer study of male versus female teachers is justified. The question is in which way the male teachers behave differently from the female teachers? The purpose with this study is to, with the help of a video recording, analyze a male teacher’s work with children in detail. I am especially interested in which kind of tasks he chooses to do with the children, how he chooses to carry them out and what type of language he uses. The empiric contains mainly of an observation (a video recording) of a male teacher during two days of his work. The observations were supplemented with an interview in order to get a wider picture and to put it into context.
The study shows in context that the male teacher differs in a lot of ways compared to his female co workers. When he chooses the tasks himself he prioritizes to fuss with the children and to play himself. He participated in the games as an equal, while the female teacher never stopped being a teacher. When it comes to his language, he uses fewer words and also a more direct communication. He regards himself as a complement in the group that is dominated by females. By doing so, he makes sure that he contributes with, according to him, typical male activities and tasks.

Empiri: Här presenteras en mer koncist och förkortad version av vad som kom upp under våra intervjuer.
Analys: I den här delen analyseras den framtagna empirin mot den teori som vi fått fram för att se om det stämmer överens med verkligheten.
Slutsats: Avslutningsvis sammanfattar vi resultaten i en kritisk diskussion. I den här studien fann vi att likheterna var större än skillnaderna mellan kvinnlig och manlig planering och delegering. Det handlar mer om egenskaperna än själva könet.

Full textIn modern times, mandate is subject to professionalization and diversification. It is now at the heart of business: bankers, businessmen, entrepreneur, ... use it to boost their business. The mandate presents itself as a contract primarily for the benefit of the principal.However, the study of the relationship between the mandate and liability shows that the importance of the benefit derived by that character is overshadowed by the danger would be for an individual, the management of its affairs by others. Specifically, the positive law and doctrine tend to severely assess the responsibility of the agent, both in respect of principal in respect of third parties. There is therefore a gap between the legal approach and the practical reality of mandate between profit and risk. If the first alternative is justified, the second is more problematic. Indeed, under the altruistic specific mandate, one might ask to what extent the client that takes advantage of the economic activity of the agent can be held liable for any damages suffered not the third party

Full textOur study intends to add up the number of knowbeige on the commission that a public and legal individual gives to a private individual in order to appoint a representative for the judical operations. Our thoughts on the subject permit to consider that this ability proceeding is an extra contributio9n to the comprehension of private individuels intervention on the administrative ground. This enabling process is builte on clear bases : the private individuals act "on behalf and for" the legal and public individual. But these thoughts underline the limits of positive rights : the proxy is considered as a technique of qualifcation which permis to submit a judicial relation often complicated to administrative rights. It is deprived by itself of every kind of intrinsic value apart from the use made of it in each case. Yet, we think that a special mention should be given to the commission as an entirely judicial notion and having determined effects. Two attitudes can contribute to reach this objective : first, one should consider the judicial representation as the basis of the administrative commission. Second, the positive rigths, especially the administrative judge, should have a positive behaviour as far as the identification and the interpretation of the commission are concerned

Syftet med denna uppsats är att ge blivande nyföretagare i allmänhet och blivande kvinnliga nyföretagare i synnerhet en inblick i vad som skiljer nyföretagare i Sverige av olika kön
Metod
För att skapa en förståelse kring hur det kvinnliga och manliga nyföretagandet skiljer sig i Sverige har vi valt att använda oss av en kvalitativ metod. Vi har valt den deduktiva ansatsen och började undersökningen med att samla in relevant teori om vårt problemområde. Därefter följde sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer med entreprenörer i Kalmar och närområdet.
Slutsatser
Denna studie är en kvalitativ studie vilket gör att vi inte kan dra några generella slutsatser om könsfördelningen inom nyföretagandet i Sverige. Däremot kan vi ge en inblick samt en ökad förståelse kring varför könsfördelningen ser ut som den gör. Vi har identifierat vissa skillnader mellan kvinnlig och manliga entreprenörer, både när det gäller karaktäristiska drag och drivkrafter men även hur de upplever nyföretagares situation i samhället. De slutsatser och tendenser som vi har kommit fram till presenterar vi i det avslutande kapitlet Slutsatser.

Full textVi vill med denna rapport belysa vilka faktorer som avgör om en händelse får stor genomslagskraft i media och i samhällsdebatten. Grunden är det mord som drabbade en trebarnsmamma i Piteå och som fick männen i Piteå att organisera sig i en gemensam protest mot kvinnovåldet i samhället. Vi har sedan jämfört detta med andra kända händelser som också har fått stort utrymme i media och samhällsdebatten för att se om det går att utkristallisera några gemensamma nämnare med Piteåuppropet. För att få en annan aspekt på frågan så har vi även gjort litteraturstudier för att hitta teorier som kan förklara varför Piteåuppropet blev så stort och spriddes över hela landet.

The latter is recorded through a movement of contractualisation of the right of people and of the family prevailing individual will. The mandate of future protection is an innovation in French law that debunks traditional ideas. Nowadays, the measure of protection can be negotiated by the parts that instaure their own law. The person is associated to her own protection. Even if it is an institution often debated from a protective point of view as well as on the technique used to make it (the contract), this very measure is in a constant evolution since it was created and the slow but progressive use of it is becoming more important through the years. Full textThe purpose of the study was to examine if preferred stereotypical leadership and gender could predict women’s employability to leading positions. The survey, which was selfconstructed containing a scenario module was conducted on co-workers (N=97) in the Vaxjo area. The result showed that the female candidate in the scenario was preferred as leader prior to the male candidate. However, there were no gender differences between the male and female participants’ preferred stereotypical leadership. The findings did not support the hypotheses.

Full textIn the first part of this thesis, we have searched for the essence of mandate through three concepts; gratuity, representation and power. The second part is concerned with the modern forms of mandate and with defining their specificities. We have come to the conclusion that although gratuity was undoubtebly of the essence of mandate in 1804, it is not the case today. As for representation, it does not appear to be part of the essence of mandate either, but rather a modality of a deed. Mandate can be defined as the granting of a power by contract. Its object is the execution of deeds. This definition seems too restrictive to include all the modern forms of mandate, which explains the many derogation the traditionnal body of law has suffered. One could very well wonder if these modern forms of mandate are not in fact varieties of "contrat d'entreprise"

The first part is devoted to the study of the drawing up of such a contract and its relationship with legal or contractual cases. In the second part we are investigating the rules of its structure, conditions and results. Tribunals insist that the third party who has drawn up a contract with the represented person must have a lawful knowledge of the powers of the said person. The jurisprudence is reasonably enforceable. The third party can be compelled to fulfill the contract and therefore has leave to appeal

Full textThe study examines leaders from six different media companies in Sweden, and compares them based on their experiences and opinions regarding leadership, gender and organizational culture. The study aims to contribute knowledge about discourses regarding male and female leadership on a strategic level, within the media industry. The selected companies will be discussed and analyzed based on the following questions: “Do leaders within the media industry feel that women need to adapt their leadership?” and “Do the companies image of gender affect the leaders performance of their leadership functions?”.In order to answer the study's questions, different methods have been selected, in order to succeed in extracting relevant material. Initially, a literature study was conducted to be able to map previous research within the subject. Subsequently, six qualitative interviews were conducted at each of the various media companies, with three women and three men. Finally, a content analysis of the transcripts was made. The analysis was carried out with the aim to facilitate the continued work of the study, as well as to more easily locate connections between the respondents' answers. With the help of the content analysis, three central themes were crystallized, which are also mentioned above; leadership, gender and organizational culture.Based on the study's results and discussion chapters, the selected companies appear to strive after having a sustainable and equal organizational culture. Causes that result in the Glass roof's continued maintenance appear to be numerous. Proposedly, an implementation of Blanchard's (2001) model regarding situational leadership could be a recommendation, in order to counteract the emergence of outdated structures that contribute to the Glass roof's continued emergence. Through such an implementation, a more equal distribution of the demands placed on men and women within working life possibly could be achieved.

Full textThe purpose of this study is to clarify the conflict between freedom of religion and children’s rights concerning male non-medical circumcision, by analysing the proposition of the law SFS (2001:499) regarding male circumcision. A perspective of sociology of law will be used to study the law from a moral and norm scientific view and not a strictly juridical approach. The ethical debate that exist regarding male circumcision will be analysed from six published scholar articles to find moral argument and see in which way they are similar to the propositions argument and which moral consideration that exist within the proposition. To be able to do this an argument analysis will be used to identify arguments in both the ethical debate and the proposition. The final result in this study is that the argumentation in the proposition is in an angle that only consider the argument which the ethical debate would call pro circumcision. The norm throughout the proposition is that parents are seen to have an authority and a right to decide over their children which is not questioned and it is the parents’ freedom of religion that is seen more valuable than the children’s.

And yet, after ten centuries of contact (including four centuries of colonization), and despite a balance of power that has rarely been to their advantage, these peoples are still not "Russian". So, how did they manage to avoid being Russianized, Sovietized and industrialized ? The reification of this indigenous cultures (which is still advanced as an explanation by many sources) only accounts for part of the story. Rather than continue to oppose the Russians and the "natives", it would seem to us to be more constructive (and closer to real life, as experience in the field) to envisage the study of these peoples in terms of "interactions". In a thematic and chronological, ethno-historical perspective which relies both on the use of indigenous sources (oral and written literature) and on Soviet archives (consulted since the end of the Soviet era), we aim to show the Nenets, Khanty and Mansi peoples have been able to manage the clash of civilizations in order to retain their own identity

Full textVi har undersökt hur tio kvinnor som yrkesarbetar ser på fenomen som feminism, kvinnligt/manligt och jämställdhet. Dessa teman speglas sedan mot kvinnornas erfarenhet av arbetsliv och privatliv. Kvinnorna är alla sammanboende, har barn och är mellan 30-40 år gamla. Vi har gjort en förstudie i form av en gruppintervju samt genomfört semistrukturerade intervjuer med de tio kvinnorna, efter vissa justeringar av den ursprungliga intervjuguiden. Vår teoribildning utgår bland annat från Bourdieus tankar om manlig dominans samt en hel del andra teorier, varav flera feministiska sådana.
Våra respondenters uppfattning om feminism är i huvudsak negativ, trots att de egentligen inte hade någon klar uppfattning om vad feminism egentligen innebär. Däremot uttryckte de många feministiska tankar. Kvinnlighet förknippas framför allt med omvårdnad och utseende/stil. Manligt är handling, ordnad ekonomi och kraftfullhet.
Våra respondenters spontana uppfattning är att de lever jämställda liv, men vid en djupare eftertanke upplever de orättvisor; framför allt gällande karriärmöjligheter och lönebildning i arbetslivet. Att de även har det ojämställt inom privatlivet verkar inte beaktas i samma omfattning.

Full textO desmame é uma das etapas mais complexas na produção suinícola e com mais influência nos resultados finais, sendo relevante confrontar as diferentes opções de maneio nesta fase e o seu impacto no desempenho produtivo dos suínos. Durante o período de seis meses acompanhou-se numa exploração o desmame de 13 grupos de leitões com idade próxima de quatro semanas e o desmame de um grupo com idade próxima das três semanas, totalizando 5874 leitões. Observaram-se ainda alguns desmames parciais que ocorreram em simultâneo. Os leitões foram reagrupados por tamanhos e a sua adaptação ao pós-desmame foi analisada recorrendo à observação visual de diferentes parâmetros: tamanho, aspeto, vivacidade, apetência, estado hígido e comportamentos associados ao stress. Os leitões maiores e mais velhos demonstraram mais comportamentos agressivos mas uma melhor evolução no pós-desmame e uma maior facilidade de adaptação. Os leitões mais jovens exibiram mais comportamentos associados ao stress, mais problemas sanitários indicadores de uma menor capacidade imunitária, menor ingestão de alimento e, em geral, maior dificuldade de adaptação ao pós-desmame. O recurso a desmames faseados proporcionou resultados que ficaram aquém das vantagens descritas na literatura. Foi possível concluir que, mesmo perante condições confortáveis de pós-desmame, há vantagem no desmame às quatro semanas em relação ao desmame às três semanas, com reflexos evidentes no crescimento dos leitões.
ABSTRACT - Weaning is one of the most complex moments in pig production, having the highest impact on the final production results, becoming relevant to evaluate the different weaning options and its impact on pig’s performance. During a six months period on a pig farm, the weaning of 13 groups of piglets at near four weeks of age and one other group around three weeks was followed, on the total of 5874 piglets. Some partial weanings that occurred simultaneously were also observed. The piglets were regrouped by sizes and their postweaning adaptation was assessed through visual observation of size, appearance, vigor, appetite, health status and behaviors associated with stress. The biggest and oldest piglets showed a more aggressive behavior, but also a better postweaning performance and an easier adaptation to the new environment. The smallest and youngest piglets exhibited more behaviors associated with stress, more health problems indicating a less immune maturity, lower intake and, in general, a more difficult adaptation to postweaning. Results of partial weanings were below those described in the literature. It was possible to conclude that, even with confortable postweaning conditions, the four weeks old weaning showed better results than the three weeks old weaning, with clear reflexes on the piglets growth.
