Studi ini diharapkan dapat menambah khazanah biografis tokoh-tokoh Muslim di awal-awal kemerdekaan Indonesia.<br /> <br /><strong>Kata Kunci</strong>: Abdurrahman Sjihab, Al Washliyah, Masjumi, Sumatera Timur<br /> <br /><strong>Abstract</strong>: <strong>Mandailing Ulama at the Beginning of the 20th Century: Abdurrahman Sjihab's Religious and Political Movement (1910-1955). </strong>This study aims to examine the religious and political movements of Abdurrahman Sjihab. This study utilizes written sources that are then analyzed by content analysis methods. Despite the important role played by Abdurrahman Sjihab as one of the leaders of the Islamic religion who fought at the local and national level as a freedom fighter for the Republic of Indonesia, there has not been a study that covers his biobiography. This study finds that Abdurrahman Sjihab contributed to the efforts to fight, defend and contribute to the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. In the socio-religious field, he and his colleagues founded Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah, which is engaged in education, preaching and social affairs, and this effort was relatively successful in preparing militant Muslim resources. In the social political field, he on behalf of Al Washliyah fostered relations and established coordination with Islamic leaders at the local and national levels in the context of fighting for and filling Indonesian independence, and for this reason he became a Masjumi politician, a member of the Central Indonesian National Committee (KNIP) and member of the Provisional People's Representative Council (DPRS). This study is expected to nurture the biographical treasures of Muslim figures in the early days of Indonesian independence.<br /><strong> </strong><br /><strong>Keywords</strong>: Abdurrahman Sjihab, Al Washliyah, Masjumi, East Sumatra

Abstract:
The objective of the research was to find out the reference to alternative rhetoric by digging up markobar as the value of local wisdom implemented in Mandailing ethnicity that uses markobar culture as a local wisdom in communicating in a formal forum. This research used communicative ethnography method. It was conducted at Kelurahan Pasar Maga, Lembah Sorik Merapi Sub-district, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The event or the Markobar activity as the object of the research was the Mandailing traditional wedding ceremonies. The research subjects were the informants who got involved in the interaction in the traditional communicative activity, Markobar. The data were gathered by conducting literature study, participants’ observation, and in-depth interviews. The gathered data were analyzed by using Milles and Hubberman model, consisted of Collecting Data; Data Display; Data reduction; Conclusion Drawing; and Evaluation. This model is referred to 8 (eight) components of Hymes; namely, SPEAKING rhetorical analysis. Empirical data found in the fieldwork would be connected in order to develop Markobar as a traditional local wisdom based-rhetorical model. The result of the research showed that in order to master Markobar, one had to understand Dalihan na Tolu and Tutur. In Markobar, rhetorical narration is deductive. This speech (Markobar) has to be presented with full of carefulness, especially in selecting the appropriate words and utterances. The speaking method in it is highly emphasized on the aspect of tenderness, either in intonation or in diction. As a genre, it is an art of speaking which is aimed to attract sympathy; its narration is intended to attract the attention of the listeners and to be successful in achieving its goal. The model developed is AHLI HORAS, an acronym of Akhlak (morals), Ilmu (science), Hormat (homage), and Rasional (rationality). Abstract:
ABSTRACT. The concept of space attachment is developed from place-attachment theory, which describes humans' attachment to their place of life-based on social and environmental attributes. The concept of space-attachment was first revealed based on an analysis of the development of a place-attachment theory based on bincar-bonom in one of the mountainous residential areas in Mandailing, namely Singengu. It is interesting to study whether other housing/settlement environments in the Mandailing area have the same characteristics as previous research findings. This study aims to verify previous research results and formulate the character of the mountainous housing environment based on space-attachment, especially in the context of adaptive and environmentally responsive. This study uses a rationalistic paradigm with a mixed-method between descriptive qualitative and case studies. The results showed the adaptive and responsive character of the housing environment based-on space-attachment in legibility aspects (ease of recognizing places), elements of diversity (variations and differences in places of activity), temporal aspects (temporal spaces), and setting of the place (according to environmental conditions/contours). These four characters emphasize the character of the housing environment based on space-attachment. The rural housing environment in Mandailing is tied to a place that focuses on 'physical place,' which is physical. Still, it is more tied to space focuses on 'non -physical space 'and intangible. Abstract:
Abstract The Indonesian state and local community have been conducting forest co-management as part of a new social forestry program initiative. This initiative is proposed to overcome environmental degradation as well as to enhance community well-being by increasing economic outcome of the forest. However, this program has the potential for conflict because of asymmetry between resources dedicated to approving social forestry permits versus capacity building, monitoring, and evaluating management outcomes. The social innovation approaches have been adopted as a potential solution to address complex social forestry program. This article aims to explore how social innovation and village governance in forest communities works. The research framework is designed by modifying the social innovation concept from the Theoretical, Empirical and Policy Foundations for Building Social Innovation in Europe (TEPSIE). Qualitative method is applied, by conducting in-depth interview and focus group discussion with forest policy experts, village authorities, and other stakeholders. Two neighbouring villages namely Sirnajaya and Tugu Utara in the Bogor District, West Java are visited. Sirnajaya represents village with strong government support by the Pilot Program for Incubation of Village Innovation in Local Economic Development (PIID-PEL), while Tugu Utara represents a strong society initiative in local development. The result reveals that social innovation has worked at different phases. However, good cooperation between formal and informal actors can have a better outcome on village development, compared to if each moves independently. The extension of social innovation and network of development can become an engine of village growth to the larger scope. The successful management for social forestry in Indonesia needs to be based on a hybrid governance model that needs to be “good” and “proper”. Therefore, the designs and practices for social forestry governance must be developed in more socially inclusive, reflected local social-economic, political, and cultural conditions.

Abstract:
This research intended to understand the factors affecting the acceptance of Bitcoin technology in Indonesia. It adopted the model of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), which took into account four influencing factors. Those were performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The factors of gender and age were assumed to moderate the relations between those four factors and use and behavioral intention. The empirical data for those factors were collected by questionnaires from 49 respondents. The statistical significance of the relationships was evaluated by multivariate regression analysis. The result is a model that matches the data with R2 = 0,678. It demonstrates a high level of fitness. The analysis suggests that the performance expectancy factor and the social influence factor greatly affect the behavioral intention to use Bitcoin with the values of t-statistic of 3,835 (p-value = 0,000) for the former factor and 1,948 (0,059) for the latter factor. However, the social influence factor has less profound effect on the behavioral intention.

<p>Democracy as a political and the government system has demonstrated its existence in the history of the world. This existence can be seen from the many countries that implement it, especially Indonesia. The democratic process becomes an interesting phenomenon because it cannot be separated from the dynamics of the community itself.</p><p>At present the community has entered the digital era, that the utilization of information and communication technology are massive. One phenomenon of concern is the widespread use of social media. The reality of the utilization of social media not only showed the trend of community interaction and communication but also the trend of political participation which correlates with the sustainability of democracy in Indonesia. At least, it has happened in the last decades, where political figures have been using social media as a channel to construct personal image. On the other hand, social media for civil society is as a new media (alternative media) in channeling aspirations, support, and even criticism to political and government figures.</p><p>Social media trends also cannot be separated from the figure of young people as massive users of these contemporary products. Even social media is a preference for young people to participate in upholding democratization in Indonesia. It can be seen from the posts or their responses to the socio-political conditions in this country through their account lines and the number of comments they wrote on the accounts of a number of political and government figures.</p><p><strong><em>Keywords: democracy, social media, youth. </em></strong></p>

Abstract:
This article seeks to explain how the implementation of moral education is presented at elementary level schools in the midst of community conditions that have changed from an agricultural community to an industrialized society. This study aims to understand how the cognition, affection, and psychomotor aspects of students in the implementation of religious moral values are presented in schools. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques taken were observation, interviews with students from elementary level schools in Cidenok Village, Sumberjaya District, Majalengka Regency. This study found that the moral values of religion presented in schools are still transfer of knowledge and religion in the cognitive aspects, only a small part is in the affective and psychomotor aspects. Second, the socio-economic conditions of the family are part of the background for moral value education which is not optimally absorbed into the affective and psychomotor aspects. Third, the condition of the social environment has a big role in shaping student orientation, where the moral values of religion do not become the control lines for students in carrying out social interactions in society. This study concludes that the implementation of religious moral values in education in schools has a clash with family awareness in supporting education, learning models that are still limited to transfer of knowledge, and the social environment of society.

Abstract:
Objective – The number of participants in the labor social security program in Indonesia managed by BPJamsostek, namely the Labor Social Security Administering Body, is still relatively low compared to the number of people working in Indonesia. Labor social security practitioners, or Account Representatives, are tasked with carrying out the process of acquiring new participants. The competence of practitioners needs to be further investigated to ensure their performance in increasing membership coverage. Methodology/Technique – This study involved 335 practitioners in BPJamsostek branch offices in major cities throughout Indonesia. The sampling method used was purposive random sampling and the analytical tool used was descriptive statistical methods to map the perceptions and opinions of practitioners regarding their competence. Findings & Novelty – It is found that the practitioners are bachelor’s degree graduates who have various educational backgrounds. This is very useful for making acquisitions of potential participants who also have diverse work professional backgrounds from both formal and informal sector workers. Career opportunities up to the highest level in the institution for practitioners are also wide enough to become Director, even as President Director. It was also found that the majority of respondents, 93.1%, stated that they were ready to face future jobs in the context of participation in social security programs for employment. However, this readiness must be supported by the competencies that must be possessed by them, because 94.0% of the respondents stated that the competency development process was important and 52.5% stated that the opportunity to obtain competency development programs was not evenly distributed among practitioners. Abstract:
Presentation of talk show host program has been known to be intelligent, smart, and is able to direct the conversation in the program well. The presentation is in line with the view of talk show programs packed seriously as a journalistic genre program with emphasis on the truth of the facts or information conveyed. However, in recent years there are different representations associated with the talk show host of the program. The representation shows that a talk show host is not such intelligent and smart, and is not able to direct the conversation in the program properly. The existence of this representation is consistent with the theory of social construction assuming that mass media play a major role in shaping the social reality in the society. As of this writing, the audience receives social reality as a representation. Like the previous presentation, as the television has broadcasted for a long time, people feel that the reality is normative and ideal conditions for them. Public realize that the social reality was only the reconstruction of the television when TV presents a representation of another social reality. Nevertheless, whatever the social reality that is deliberately made or reconstructed by the media, including television, in fact everything is a reality that is deliberately created just for the sake of the manager or owner of the television station.

Abstract:
This study aims to explore the reasons for the problems that trigger broader mass violence, both in the form of structural conditions in society as well as the factors that trigger crime and social dynamics that trigger mass violence. The main research method used is a qualitative approach to the type of research criminally. The results of the research show that at the end of this time the social integration ties that are owned by the community are not so strong that the provocateurs of violence in the community are able to ravage the solidarity that is intertwined within the community. The joints of democratic society which should function to normalize normal social-political interaction relations, in the end actually caused mass violence, such conditions create anomistic situations occur, members of society both individually and in groups are so easy to play their own way. Therefore, the legal institutions as a formal rule of the game and apply to everyone, are experiencing a crisis of authority. The fundamental reason why this happens is that there are often different legal decisions against each violator of the law. As a result, there is no certainty that the law is truly an objective norm that applies to all. People who have been relatively safe in the normalcy of their environment have turned into mutual suspicion. As a result of this, collective disappointment arises over legal institutions, so that losing motivation to obey the law people tend not to believe in the legal process, which results in acts of mass violence in the community.

Abstract:
The Indonesian government began using the term “new normal” in mid-May 2020, which prompted debate in the community and was reflected on social media. Therefore, the goal of this study was to use Twitter-based social media text analysis to depict the Indonesian public’s impression of new normal conditions during the COVID-19 epidemic. We performed a text analysis on Twitter using the phrases “new normal” and “kenormalaan baru” with a time period of 1-31 July 2020 and location restrictions in Indonesia. The words associated with “new normal” are then described in a word cloud map and sorted in a flipped bar chart. We also performed a network bi-gram network analysis to identify word correlations in order to identify sentiments from Twitter text. When compared to other words, the word “covid” has the highest frequency. Other words linked with health protocols, such as “cuci” (wash), “tangan” (hand), “jaga” (maintain), and “jarak” (distance), appeared 1,138, 1501, 3.343, and 2.131 times, respectively, according to unigram analysis. Bigram network analysis reveals discrete clusters of phrases such as “protokol kesehatan” (health protocol), “wash hands” (cuci tangan), “jaga jarak” (physical distance), and “wear mask” (pakai masker). The word connections “covid,” “pandemi” (pandemic), “lupa” (forget), “maskernya” (the mask), “lakukan” (do), “social”, “distancing”, “luar” (outside), “rumah” (home) also conveyed a remark about standard measures in the new normal period.

Abstract:
<p class="apa">Since 1998, regional governments in Indonesia have had greater autonomy due to the commencement of a reformation movement across Indonesia. Large portions of education management were delegated to the regional governments. Because of this, the education level varies strongly across Indonesia’ provinces. Referring to the data provided by the Indonesian Bureau of Statistics, it is found that Eastern Indonesia generally has a higher rate of uneducated than Western Indonesia. We review the current condition of Indonesian education in terms of regional disparity among eastern and western provinces and study the correlation between inequality in education and other related aspects, such as social and economic conditions. We find that inequality issues on socio-economic conditions are reflected in the education disparity between Eastern and Western Indonesia. By employing panel data with provinces as units of observations, we find that the difference in regional development among Indonesian provinces influences education issues. By evaluating the standard deviation of the statistic we were able to identify socio-economic factors that influence the regional education disparity.</p>

Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted various human economic activities. Restrictions on people's movements with Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) have resulted in sluggish production activities and capital outflows which have resulted in a weakening of the rupiah exchange rate. In addition to impacting the exchange rate, the Covid-19 pandemic also had an impact on declining sales in the automotive sector. This study aims to model the increase in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia as well as to identify differences in economic conditions before and after the pandemic and the enactment of the PSBB. The data source used from the website of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Bank Indonesia, and the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Based on the results of the analysis, the ARIMA (2,1,1) ARCH (1) model is the right model to be used to predict positive case data for Covid-19. In addition, paired sample t-test analysis shows that there are significant differences in economic conditions in Indonesia before and after the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of large-scale social restrictions.

Abstract:
The application of information and communication technologies in Indonesia continues to be developed as the government becomes more serious in improving services to its citizen. However, there are still some obstacles to using the service. The purpose of this paper to present a framework improving e-government services to its citizen. The paper opted for using a comprehensive review of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). This paper offers ideas to see intention to the community in using e-government, by using the modified UTAUT model where the main construct performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), facilitating conditions (FC) is an important factor. Moderators such as gender, age, experience and voluntariness of use were excluded and using attitude as a mediator. The findings showed that UTAUT’s construct such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions is an important factor appropriate for seeing intention to citizen in using e-government and 9 hypotheses offered in the model are believed to get new findings in the future and increase the development of the UTAUT model and be able to provide concept ideas that are made in seeing the intentions of e-government users.

Abstract:
The situation in urban areas that is experiencing the phenomenon of uncontrolled urbanization will result in many new problems such as increased deviance due to poverty, massive unemployment, an increase in slum areas, and so on. From this, urbanization can be seen as an indicator in determining the level of urban development both in the economic and social context. That way, it is possible to better see the form or understanding of urbanization and its impact on life in the city. Qualitative literature review is used by researchers as a type of research in this study. The data used is secondary data obtained indirectly from certain parties and media, meaning that there are certain parties who become intermediaries where they are the ones who obtained and recorded the data beforehand. Developmental life and developmental backwardness are “a series which are interrelated and cannot be separated from one another. Underdevelopment in rural areas arises because there is no balanced development carried out in urban areas. Distributed contributors to the failure of development in rural areas are the wrong views of influential actors in making views on rural conditions, both the physical and social conditions of the people. Urban bias is a concept that still influences development goals in rural areas and is considered relevant

Abstract:
It is argued that there are interconnected and dynamic factors that influence the sustainability of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in developing countries. Five sustainability factors are often mentioned by literature: financial, institutional, environmental, technical, and social (FIETS) factors. This article aims to understand the interaction of those five sustainability factors in the context of WASH services in Indonesia. A system approach, in the form of a “modified” causal loop diagram, was utilized to analyze this interaction. The strength of influence from one factor to others were obtained from small surveys of 16 WASH practitioners and experts from international and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs) based in Indonesia and national government institutions related to WASH. It was found that institutional factor is the “leverage” factor, i.e., the most influential and least dependent, in the WASH services system in Indonesia. It means that WASH institutional strengthening is necessary to sustain WASH services in Indonesia. Furthermore, the most important feedback loop is social–WASH services. This depicts the importance of the bi-directional effect of WASH services and the social conditions of the community, i.e., the more supportive the community is, the higher the likelihood of the sustainability of WASH services, and then positively influence back the social conditions of the community. Moreover, the relationship between factors varies across context or location. Finally, this paper shows that the sustainability of WASH services involves complex interactions of the sustainability factors and understanding these interactions is critical to sustaining the WASH services or program in rural Indonesia.

Abstract:
The relationship between evangelism and social care is a hot topic that is still being debated. Some argue that the Church should only work on evangelism, that is, on eternal salvation (spiritual matters), not on social issues. Others are of the view that working on social issues is a means for the purpose of evangelizing. By using a descriptive qualitative approach, this article is intended: firstly to show that the mission of the Church is an integrative-holistic mission covering the field of evangelism and social service. The two are united in Missio Dei. Second, in order to attract reflections for churches everywhere, it is necessary to reconstruct the paradigm and implementation of the Church's mission in the present. The results of the discussion conclude that the Church's mission should be integrative-holistic. This means that the Church does not separate (dualism) between evangelism and social care. The integrative-holistic mission is considered very relevant and needed as an answer to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into reality and at the same time can alleviate the problems or conditions of the society in which the Church is located.

Abstract:
The research investigated how Indonesia's generation Z used social media to practice their language. The way ideology was constructed in linguistic variations and underlying the language in the online context. The paper's goal was to comprehend sociolinguistic dynamics by looking at the scientific reasons for youth language use and to raise awareness about language and social conditions of generation Z. According to the Tranglossic framework as propounded by Sultana et al. (2015) for an in-depth understanding of contextual (physical location and participants), pretextual (historical trajectory texts), subtextual (ideologies mobilized by the text), intertextual (meanings that occur across texts), post textual interpretation of the data (the way texts are read, interpreted, resisted, and appropriated) and interview conducted to two accounts of Instagram users. As a result, generation Z was the creative speakers and critical thinker in social media because they built the ability of complex encoding. The complex encoding was related to their social attribution in detail of affiliation with a certain community, regional identity, national identity, a desire as the part of a world citizen, religion, popular culture, and education.

Abstract:
Poverty for women is a picture where women experience limitations, the inability to fulfill their basic needs properly. Pandemic conditions that cause changes in behavior to limit all social activities to prevent transmission. By using a reference study supported by secondary data, this research aims to describe, explain and analyze poverty among women during the pandemic, then produce ideas on how to solve the problem of poverty in women. The results of this reference study found that poverty that occurs in women is caused by restrictions on social activity behavior in the community, resulting in a decrease in income in the family which impacts on women's poverty. Women are a vulnerable group to survive the Covid-19 pandemic without the support of adequate facilities and skills in mastering information technology, so women find it difficult to build and produce a creative economy. Even though during the Covid-19 pandemic, creative economy players were able to survive the downturn in economic conditions. Women are more susceptible to being poor. Conscious efforts are needed in these women to get up and add skills in mastering technology in building a creative economy.

Abstract:
Social conditions strongly influence changes in household income because they play a critical role in improving the household welfare of coastal fishing communities. The purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of social conditions on the growth of fisherman's household income in Makassar City, Indonesia. Quantitative research method using survey instrument was addressed to 46 fishers' households by applying the purposive sampling technique. The analytical method used was multiple regression with the exponential function model. This study found that social factors such as the age of the head of the family and the number of working family members contributed to changes in the increase in household income because they had a significant positive effect. On the other hand, the number of dependent household members did not contribute anything because it had a negative effect on changes in the income level of fishers' households. Likewise, the wife's level of formal education did not affect the household income. Related to social factors as a determinant of improving the fishers' household economy, efforts to increase it can be made through on-fishing and off-fishing. On-fishing is carried out with the support of a gross tonnage boat. Household members do off-fishing in postharvest handling, handling, processing, and marketing marine products.JEL Classification D10; Q22; Z10

Abstract:
Educational and cultural development is strongly influenced by external conditions such as social, cultural, economic, technological, and political. So, there is a strong need to educate their effect. Some of the effects of external conditions on education and culture can be explained. a higher population puts Indonesia in an increasingly important position in the global arena. In Indonesia, this wonder happens in light of the fact that the procedure of statistic progress that created since a couple of years back was quickened by our accomplishment in diminishing fruitfulness rates, improving the nature of wellbeing and the achievement of improvement programs since the New Order time as of recently. Along these lines, Indonesia has a statistic reward which is a reward or opportunity (fateful opening) appreciated by a nation because of the huge extent of the beneficial populace (age extend 15-64 years) in the development of the populace it encounters. At that point a parameter called "reliance proportion", which is the proportion that shows the correlation among beneficial and non-gainful age gatherings. This proportion likewise shows what number of inefficient individuals whose lives must be borne by the gainful age gathering. The lower the dependency ratio of a country, the more the country is to get a demographic bonus as future development capital.
