Abstract:
This paper develops a systems perspective on the interdependent relationships between management academics, management theory and management practice. The author re-examines issues raised by Ghoshal, not only about how the uncritical acceptance of an ideologically based gloomy vision of human nature has led to “bad management theories ... destroying good management practices”, but also how practice can impact the development of theory. The approach provides an opportunity to reinterpret and reveal the systemic nature of related feedback and learning processes labelled as the double hermeneutic by Giddens (1987) and as reciprocal determinism by Bandura (1978), to draw a parallel with the role of theory in the decision sciences. This paper provides a constructive illustration of the use of the systems representational tools of system dynamics to develop a systems perspective on these matters to identify the underpinning systemic structure that gives rise to Ghoshal’s views. Finally, the author identifies a means of addressing issues of concern to management theorists, analysts, and practitioners.

Abstract:
Abstract From the perspective of terror management theory (TMT), the awareness of death is problematic as it has the potential to increase anxiety. It would be hard to function when faced with this fear; thus, people defend themselves from heightened mortality awareness by adhering to their cultural beliefs (e.g., religion, nationalism), having positive self-views (i.e., self-esteem), and/or turning toward their relationships with close others. The purpose of the current volume is to introduce readers to the field of experimental existential psychology (broadly) and TMT (specifically). To do this, Section 1 will provide an introduction to the field, along with discussing methodological considerations when conducting terror management research. Section 2 was written to discuss some of the applied implications of TMT as it is relates to close relationships, religion, politics and law, positivity, and existential growth. Much work from a terror management tradition has been interested in how death concerns affect physical and psychological health. Because of this, Section 3 will introduce two variations of TMT (i.e., Terror Management Health Model [TMHM] & Anxiety-buffer Disruption Theory [ABDT]), with implications for individuals’ well-being. Finally, Section 4 will discuss alternative perspectives and controversies within the field. Throughout this volume, we provide a discussion on potential avenues of future study.

Abstract:
Purpose – This study presents a theory and model of humanity management with the research question of “Where should management head for new paradigms such as ESG, social value management, global environment, and digital innovation today?” Design/Methodology/Approach – This study was based on literature research. Existing related prior research was examined and used to formulate a theory on humanity management. The central concept discovered in previous research was “humanity” is concerned with humans in areas such as life, community, social responsibility, connection between people, empathy, sensibility, emotion, resilience, agility, good for business and profit, respect for humans and nature, ethics about nature and machinery, and interactions between technology and people. Findings – The result of this study is as follows. Humanity management model consists of three levels. The first is the ‘mission level’. Its core value is ‘life’. The second is the ‘management level’. At this level, ethical management, environmental management, and technological management are organically connected and integrated. The third is the ‘implementation level’. It consists of nine implementation strategies. Research Implications – This study is meaningful in that it attempted to theoretically establish humanity management as a new management paradigm. However, there is a limitation in that many variables were not considered in constructing the theory due to a lack of empirical studies as well as previous literature studies.

Abstract:
“A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination”When discussing management, we have to start with a historical perspective that enables us to understand its evolution as:1)     It clarifies our view of the present,2)     It allows us to explain the way things are,3)     It instils a sense of causation, and,4)     It underlines the importance of interpretation in social science. The history of management thought starts from a search for a universal theory that fits all purposes, all societies, all cultures and all fields. Yet we see no single theory is accepted today. Instead we have theories devised and developed at different times with applications to different aspects of the management role.In the East, there are theories that have roots to Ancient Egypt or China; while the participation of Arab and Islamic scholars was very limited, due to the fact that their civilization was targeted by others, especially the Crusaders or the Mongols, who destroyed their Cultures in their cradles (Baghdad or Damascus), when they invaded their homelands and killed their scholars.Consequently, their priorities were mixed up and they became retroactive instead of being proactive; except for three recent endeavours:1)                  Dr. Tariq Al-Sweidan in Kuwait, 2)                  Prof. Abdul Aziz Abu Nab’a, in Palestine, and3)                  Dr Abdul Muti M. Assaf in JordanAgain those theorists undermined the Ethical, Belief and Cultural/Behavioral straightness, but in some way tackled the surrounding environments that shape the organizational culture and the leaders as well.None of them could be categorized as to serve andface challenged for all the recent purposes.I presume, that my theory, The Comprehensive Islamic Management Theory (I) will fit. Let us try it.

Abstract:
Abstract:This article elaborates a normative Stakeholder Management Theory (SHMT) from a critical theory perspective. The paper argues that the normative theory elaborated by critical theorists such as Habermas exhibits important advantages over its rivals and that these advantages provide the basis for a theoretically more adequate version of SHMT. In the first section of the paper an account is given of normative theory from a critical theory perspective and its advantages over rival traditions. A key characteristic of the critical theory approach is expressed as a distinction between three different normative realms, viz., legitimacy, morality, and ethics. In the second section, the outlines of a theory of stakeholder management are provided. First, three basic tasks of a theoretically adequate treatment of the normative analysis of stakeholder management are identified. This is followed by a discussion of how a critical theory approach to SHMT is able to fulfill these three tasks.

Complexity theory is an interesting complement to classic scientific theories. Although this topic is at the center of interest of a large group of researchers, there are only a few publications on this subject that can be found in Polish literature. The aim of this article is to fill this gap partially. Basic assumptions of complexity theory have been discussed. Examples of its applications in social and economic sciences as well as numerous applications in other areas have been analyzed. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of practical application of elements of this theory in the management of complex business systems. The benefits resulting from the development of complexity theory were also shown

Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to confirm the inverse relationship between scheduled corrective maintenance (SCM) and corrective maintenance (CM) in health-care facility management. That is, the higher the SCM, the lower the demand for CM, and the lower the SCM, the higher the demand for CM. Furthermore, the study shows the importance of SCM as compared with CM in healthcare facilities. Design/methodology/approach This study investigated 28 services in facility engineering services for an exploratory study by using the open-ended approach of the grounded theory. Five years of data with a total of 20,480 SCM work orders and 84,837 CM work orders were extracted from the central management information system database. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program. Data were presented in the form of mathematical scores using descriptive statistics and correlation test to elaborate the variable characteristics and make conclusions. Findings This study provides empirical insights about the effectiveness of proactive maintenance in reducing breakdowns for systems or equipment in health-care facilities. Findings suggest that increasing SCM will reduce CM demands. Research limitations/implications The location approach, with restrictions to the comparison between CM and SCM, still allows for exploration, especially on the factors that can reduce the demand for correction. These factors include planned preventive maintenance, work flow process, level of competency of maintenance workers and health-care maintenance strategic planning. Practical implications Proactive maintenance is important in preventing dangerous occurrences in hospitals. Reducing breakdowns increases customer satisfaction. Therefore, this study shows implications to health-care maintenance organizations in the context of business strategic development. Originality/value Data are crucial in proving a hypothesis. This study confirms the evidence of facility management demand theory and highlights the inverse relationship between SCM and CM.

A Platform based on Complexity Theory will consist of domain specific framework, dynamics, and systems. PACS.i is a framework through modern combat missions can be conveniently managed. PACS stand for Planner, Analyst, Commander and Soldier. While Planner and Analyst define pre and post battle view, soldier models frog’s view of combat in execution and commander bird’s view of same. These roles should handle Population, Spatial, Temporal and Causal dynamics (with their sub-classes). Also four types of Systems - regular, complex, chaos-based and stochastic can realize these architectures with varied benefits and losses. This paper explores the relation between roles, dynamics, and systems. PACS.i framework is result of synergy between all three of these.

Quality management can be considered to have four main components: quality planning, quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement. Quality planning is the key factor since it set up quality level which is the company target. Or in the other words using the definition: level where customer expectations are met. In practice, quality planning is quite often ignored although it should be strategic decision, one of the most important taken by company. Actually, quality planning is out of Quality Department responsibility due to historical reason. Quality management is not the right name for them, more proper one should be Quality assurance. The right quality management means establishing quality level (not necessarily the highest one from technical point of view) with participating of Quality representative as a member of top management.

Two approaches to the evolution of Chinese scholarship are possible. The first – developing a theory of Chinese management – focuses on applying and refining theories developed elsewhere in a Chinese context. In this sense, the emergence of the Chinese economy represents an important natural experiment for the test and refinement of general management theories. The second – developing a Chinese theory of management – focuses on creating explanations for the existence of Chinese management phenomena that are uniquely Chinese. This approach rejects a research agenda created by Western scholars in favour of a research agenda created by Chinese scholars in order to understand Chinese phenomena. The implications of choosing either of these approaches for the future of Chinese management research and possible relationships between them are discussed.

Abstract:
While the literature on management theory has been growing in recent years, there are no publications regarding the evolution and mapping of this scientific field. This study dwells on the issues related to management theories in the context of today’s research by identifying the most important lines of research, researchers, and the concentration of research. To explore the trends in the development of management theory, this study used bibliometric analysis. The search in the Web of Science database provided 5,825 documents (including articles, books, reviews, etc.). Methods of trend analysis, clusterization, and comparative analysis were used. The results show that a new direction of responsible management research is being formed – the organization’s operations and objectives must be balanced, and their implementation must be responsible. This study enriches management literature by providing new ideas related to future research tendencies. Moreover, it fleshes out the direction for developing management theory and outlines the most-cited works and authors, the research concentration in different countries, and leading journals. For scholars and practitioners, such structured data are an important source of relevant information in published papers and allows for the definition of research guidelines.

Abstract:
This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of green human resource management by examining, analyzing, and synthesizing findings from 109 empirical studies conducted worldwide. These studies were pub lished between 2017 and July 2023. The findings of this study revealed that the examination of green human resource management predominantly revolves around two perspectives: business assessment and employee assessment. When viewed from a business perspective, research in green human resource management encompasses the following categories of factors: (i) Environmental impact; (ii) Business operations impact; and (iii) Corporate efficiency impact. On the other hand, when approached from the employee perspective, it focuses on factors such as: (i) Employee environmental behavior; (ii) Employee performance; (iii) Miscellaneous factors. Quantitative research methods were commonly employed in these studies, with a primary focus on surveying employees. The findings from this research play acrucial role in providing future researchers with a comprehensive overviewof the green human resource management field. Furthermore, we suggest potential avenues for future research in this area.

With the vulnerability, unpredictability, and ambiguity of the situation, schools all over the world have faced a variety of restrictions and unprecedented risks that caused some to cease operations and classes permanently or for an extended period of time. The concept of risk has become closely associated with every school process and structure so as to aid them in adapting to the current situation. This paper explores the concept of risk management and risks planning through the lens of school management and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle. Furthermore, the researchers link the permeation of the direct and indirect effects of risks in the school system by reflecting on the layers of the school’s bioecological nest as adapted from the Bioecological Theory of Urie Bronfenbrenner. Finally, this paper suggests a model for risk planning that can help school administrators and leaders in managing risks and aid future researchers in studying concepts related to risk management.

Abstract:
The links between theory and construction management (CM), and for that matter construction economics (CE), are not strong (see de Valence 2011). This may be one of the reasons why they have not gained complete acceptance as academic disciplines and are not seen as distinct branches of economics and management respectively. Another reason may be that products and production (the focus of management and economic theories respectively) are not the same as projects and project management in general, and construction projects and CM in particular.

Abstract:
The game theory (GT) is not only a part of mathematics, but also one of the most popular optimization techniques supporting decision making. Its achievements are currently used in many fields. However, this theory has a special place in economics and management. Operating on the market, companies make a number of decisions that resemble a game with moves made by players. It turns out that GT can also be successfully translated into management needs. The aim of the article is to answer the question about the possibilities of using game theory in management. A wide range of applications of this theory has been shown. Limitations related to its use in management were also indicated.
