Abstract:
Conservation employers have long valued the in-depth, highly technical training provided by graduate and undergraduate environmental science curricula. However, employers also highly value communication and critical-thinking skills beyond research science, especially the ability to make management decisions within sociopolitical, financial, and ecological contexts. I developed and implemented a budgeted management plan assignment in lower- and upper-level courses in biology and environmental studies programs at an undergraduate liberal arts college. Students must develop specific, assessable conservation objectives to manage a population within a budget that limits available money, time, and sociopolitical will. Students must conduct extensive scientific literature reviews, then decide which of 89 actions will be most cost-effective. Instructors and students responded positively to the assignment, particularly noting difficulty, realism, and interdisciplinarity as defining features, especially in comparison to more traditional field lab reports. The resulting writing assignment involves little class time and instructor supervision, can be customized for both advanced undergraduate and secondary education curricula, and involves high critical-thinking skills in all four cognitive dimensions of learning as described by Anderson and Krathwohl (2001).

Abstract:
In this study, the efficacy of a clinical teaching tool, objectively structured clinical teaching (OSCT) was assessed by comparing students’ performance in assessing standardised patients (SPs) and real patients (RPs). The final-year students were randomly divided into two arms and their performance in three different disciplines such as medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) and primary care medicine (PCM) was assessed with RPs in one arm and SPs/simulated patients in the other. The assessments were conducted in history-taking, clinical examination and management stations by the content experts under a structured rubric. Students’ scores in each arm were compared in the respective disciplines and overall. The perceptions of both students and SPs were recorded. The OSCT and rotational average scores of the participant students in SPs and RPs were compared. The students’ mean scores for their rotational exam and OSCT were 65.31 ± 5.56 and 61.14 ± 8.53, respectively. The performance at the management station in O&G was significantly higher compared with medicine and PCM. The overall performance at all other stations in the three disciplines was comparable, with no significant difference. The reliability and content validity of OSCT was established by calculating Cronbach’s alpha and testing content validity. The results indicated that OSCT is an innovative and effective teaching tool that can be used in clinical teaching in the early clinical years to lower the student load in hospitals in a cost-effective manner.

Abstract:
This study examines the perceptions of good classes among students and professors at a medium-sized university in a local province. 270 students and 64 professors participated in this study. The data collected from the surveys analyzed through keyword analysis using the R program were analyzed into seven categories; teaching methods, professor competence, emotion and motivation, student centeredness, class management, learning achievement, and subject matter. Comparative analyses were conducted to explore differences in perceptions between students’ definitions and recommendtion reasons for good classes, between two campuses based on students’ majors, and between students and professors. In students’ definitions of good classes, teaching methods and student centeredness emerged as the most highly ranked categories, and professor competencies were followed. On the medical-mechanical-natural science campus, student centeredness and teaching methods were equally highly ranked, while teaching methods was prioritized over professor competencies on the liberal arts-social science campus. Perception differences were also observed between the two campuses. Regarding students’ recommendation reasons for good classes, student centeredness was ranked most highly, indicating that students emphasized personal achievement experience in defining good classes. In contrast, professors prioritized teaching methods and then learning achievements, placing greater importance on the latter. Professors tended to assign less importance to professor competencies or class management compared to students. This study suggests that good classes must be regarded differently based on subject matters. Professors should place more emphasis on effective class management practices such as time management, guidance or feedback about projects, tests, and scores, interpersonal relationships with students, and open communication abilities. The findings suggest a need for teaching workshops to improve professors’ teaching competencies, aligning with good classes.

Abstract:
Driven by huge demand for talents in the market, economics major in colleges and universities need to take the initiative to reform the teaching of finance specialty in accordance with the demand for finance talents in the era of big data, cultivate versatile innovative competent talents, and output high-quality talents for social enterprises, satisfy enterprises’ needs of recruiting financial talents, and give full play to the social education value of university finance specialty. Financial management is the core of economic organization, and the management effectiveness affects the overall operational feasibility of the organization. In order to promote the high-quality development of the market economy, universities should devote greater effort to the teaching reform of financial management, enhance talent cultivation conversion efficiency, and give full play to the value of the financial specialty in colleges and universities. However, the existing course teaching can hardly achieve the expected goals due to insufficient monitoring of financial management teaching process, insufficient self-learning resources, and defective student learning support service, imperfect teacher's training, single assessment method, and small proportion of practical teaching, etc. In view of the current status, this paper innovatively introduced six sigma management theory to improve the online teaching of financial management courses. Firstly, the teaching process involving five stages of define-measure-analyze-improve-control was designed according to the course characteristics of financial management and at the same time, the financial management teaching model was improved by online and offline inquiry-based teaching method. In order to improve the application effectiveness of financial management online teaching resources, a precise teaching resource push system was established using Web data mining so as to achieve the goal of recommending different teaching resources to different students. It was proved by the teaching practice that the new teaching method proposed in this study can help students improve learning efficiency and enhance their problem-solving ability. Thus, this teaching model is worthy of application and promotion in courses of finance specialty.

Abstract:
Knowledge management is the term used to describe approaches that knowledge workers employ in fulfilling their assigned tasks. The use of technology eases the process of completing their work because it provides systematic methods of managing the process of applying knowledge. Therefore, the current study seeks to find answers on the use of YouTube regarding the type of content selected by the teachers when using the platform and the kind of activities that require them to use the channel for teaching and learning purposes. The study uses qualitative data inquiries to collect responses from 23 preschool teachers. Four themes are formulated as findings in the current study. They are “YouTube consolidates teaching and learning,” “use of YouTube for educational songs,” “use of YouTube to improvise teacher-made songs,” and “nonusage of YouTube.” It concludes that knowledge is transferred explicitly when preschool teachers use the platform as a resource for teaching and learning. The technology, that is, YouTube, has somewhat assisted them in teaching the preschoolers in their early literacy development by watching entertaining yet educational materials. The study implied that YouTube could be an educational resource that teachers can use in teaching young learners. Also, it suggested that it could be a source of information that teachers may use to find relevant materials for their classes.

The application of education management technology in China is in a period of rapid development. There are certain differences between China and western countries. In order to adapt to the intelligent trend of contemporary education management reform and improve the national macro education management level, there should be cross-cultural thinking on the differences in the development of educational management technology capabilities between China and the West. Based on the literature analysis of Chinese and Western education management technology and education management theory, and based on the research data of 8 domestic colleges and universities education management technology, we explored the development differences between China and the West in teaching evaluation, multimedia teaching, and teaching decision-making. The results showed that ideology, national conditions and technology are the main influencing factor of the differences in the development of educational management technology capabilities between China and the West. We need to create a cross-cultural education concept conflict, cross-cultural perspective to re-plan the teacher’s positioning, and fundamentally change the concept of teachers to accept Western education management models in China. The application proportion of education management technology should be allocated based on the actual teaching situation, to increase the teaching utilization rate of multimedia equipment, and reduce unnecessary multimedia teaching. Data-driven intelligent teaching decision-making technology should be developed to guide teaching behavior scientifically and efficiently. Finally, we should construct a modern management system in line with national conditions, as well as narrow the gap between Chinese and western educational management.

Abstract:
Risk assessment and the purpose it serves, risk management, are widely adopted by business, institutions, and governments, seeking to minimize future losses of all kinds. If the preservation goal of museums is stated as the delivery of the collection to some future point in time with as little loss in value as possible, then risk assessment and risk management provide the only rational means to reach this goal. Difficulties arise due to uncertainty and complexity. A three-week course on this method has been designed, and recently offered, by ICCROM (the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) and the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI), with the collaboration of leading experts from the Canadian Museum of Nature (CMN) and the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage (ICN). Demand for the knowledge was strong, as shown by the number and diversity of applicants worldwide. Great care and effort was taken with the design of the learning process and the supporting resources, in order to overcome the known, and profound, challenges of the subject. The result has been successful.
