Abstract:

Este trabalho consiste de uma tradução versificada de A Batalha de Maldon, poema anglo-saxão no metro tradicional, composto no século X-XI a respeito da batalha homônima entre dinamarqueses e anglo-saxões. Seu pressuposto fundamental é um estudo das abordagens de tradução aplicáveis à poesia germânica antiga para a produção de uma versão anotada em português, com a qual se procura reconstituir as características do poema antigo. Esta abordagem leva aos argumentos finais acerca desta possibilidade, em especial no que diz respeito à aliteração em português. This work consists in a verse translation from the Anglo-saxon of The Battle of Maldon, old English poem written between the 10th and 11th centuries about the battle between Danes and Saxons. The main goal is the study of different translation theories which are related to the old Germanic poetic tradition as a mean to provide a Portuguese language annotated version where the poem\'s traits are reconstructed. This procedure leads to the final argument, on the possibility of achieving alliteration in Portuguese.

Abstract:

In The Battle of Maldon, the valor of the English who fight is never in question. The infamy of the cowards who flee is evident. The way the poet views the Vikings, however, is slightly less obvious. The poet treats all characters who act within the contract of battle with a sort of biased equanimity—of course, the English are portrayed as more heroic and sympathetic, but the Vikings are referred to in a practical manner as seafarers or warriors. It is my contention that the Maldon poet treats the Vikings as natural parts of the battlefield, as if they had their own maxim pairing and were acting according to expectation. By defining how maxims function in the Old English corpus, illustrating the prevalence of Viking violence leading up to the battle, and presenting literary evidence of a Viking maxim in Maldon and The Battle of Brunanburh, I will define what I believe to be the integral parts of the "Viking maxim" and clarify how its presence in The Battle of Maldon informs the poem overall. The sampling area is part of the Golden Triangle region where significant gold-mining activities took place from the 1850s to the present day. [...] Locations were chosen to evaluate arsenic distribution in soils, surface waters and plants in different environments. Easy access to sampling locations allowed detailed scientific sampling, especially in the seasonality study. The different range of environments such as agricultural, state forest, mining, urban and rural provided an opportunity to compare the concentrations of arsenic and other elements in the study area. The study of the three selected areas combined provided further understanding of possible exposure and pathways through which arsenic can get into the food chain. "The objective of the study is to measure levels of heavy metals/metalloids in soils, water and plants in various environments, identify whether the heavy metals/metalloids are mobile and bioavailable and understand the importance of clays and oxide complexes in the fixation of metals." Abstract:

The research undertaken compares the impact of heritage planning and management at Maldon in Victoria, with Tumbarumba in New South Wales and to a lesser extent with a number of other municipalities. Maldon and Tumbarumba are former gold mining towns of similar size and age. Maldon has been subject to rigorous planning controls following its declaration as a 'Notable Town' by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) in the 1960s and was the forerunner for heritage planning in Australia, while Tumbarumba was later to be recognised for its heritage value and has less detailed planning controls. Maldon has been the centre of ongoing conflict for decades while Tumbarumba has been relatively free of conflict. Through research into existing documents, community consultation and use of questionnaires, this thesis sets out to look at how the conservation of heritage towns fits into the broader picture of conservation management, and examines the dynamics of conserving heritage towns. By undertaking a heritage study in the town of Tumbarumba, and looking closely at how heritage planning was implemented at Maldon, two dimensions of heritage management are examined. Firstly, the consistency in the planning process and the duration of events are compared, and secondly the extent of conflict is examined with contributing factors being isolated. Within the thesis, models are developed for analysing the conflict at Maldon, and for implementing heritage management in towns. The latter is through examining the accepted approaches to heritage management against the evidence of conflict, external control, community involvement and the presence of incentives. The thesis concludes that the dynamics of working with the community can be as important as the technical aspects of conservation.

Abstract:

This thesis is about networks in seventeenth-century England: the making and re-shaping of networks of people and texts, and the ways in which they evolved and transformed. It focuses on the manuscripts collected by Dr Thomas Plume (1630-1704), vicar of Greenwich and archdeacon of Rochester, who left them with a substantial body of books and pamphlets to the Library he endowed in Maldon. They take the form of notebooks and papers complied by a number of different clergymen, in particular Dr Robert Boreman (d.1675) and Dr Edward Hyde (1607-1659), in addition to Plume. The significance of the research lies in its reconstruction of the intellectual lives of the middle-status loyalist clergy through their handwritten texts. The research intervenes into debates about the nature and status of the manuscript form in an age of print and asks why these texts were left with the Library. The content and material form of these notebooks and papers evidence the reading and writing practices of the middle-status clergy, and the ways they were able to use their positions to influence and persuade on local and national levels. The main sections of the thesis encompass: a critical analysis of the manuscript collection; an examination of why the manuscripts were created and re-used; an appraisal of themes of identity, memorial, and legacy reflected within them; and the relationship between the handwritten items and printed books. This thesis argues that these seemingly-ephemeral texts were in fact the ‘heart’ of Plume’s library collection, representing a network of clergymen whose commitment to each other’s work extended as far as if they had been related by blood. Their working papers symbolised a memorial to their scholarship, saved for posterity under the shadow of destruction and loss during the Civil Wars.

Thesis (M.Arch.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Architecture, 2003. Includes bibliographical references (p. 56). The purpose of this thesis is to link water, history and culture through architectural and urban design by researching the potential for the rejuvenation of a neglected industrial site at the edge of a river. The Malden River in Massachusetts, one of the most polluted rivers in the Boston Harbor Watershed, was utilized by heavy industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the purposes of power generation, shipping and waste removal. As the advent of modern urban systems for drainage and transport replaced the river's traditional roles, the waterfront has fallen into disuse and has become a classic post-industrial landscape. It is abandoned and contaminated, surrounded by old industrial buildings and warehouses and is more commonly known as a "brownfield." In order to re-evaluate the relationship between water and contemporary urban culture, this thesis explores the creation of a metaphorical "source" for the river so as to establish a new and fundamental bond between the architecture and the site. The source is of critical importance due to symbolic issues of quality, origin, and renewal. The selected site, sandwiched between the towns of Medford and Everett, is chosen to celebrate and demarcate the origin of the river, and second to rejuvenate the water front and surrounding industrial landscape, which is overgrown and polluted. These intentions are accomplished using two scales of design intervention. At one scale(the urban scale), water filtration technologies such as slow sand filtration and landscape design are brought together to create a civic space that creates a symbolic "source" for the river and celebrates its renewal. At a smaller scale, architectural interventions include a series of programs that will help develop a community awareness of the delicate relationship between culture and water. This program includes: a water research center, research library, auditorium, gallery, studio, observation tower, teahouse, restaurant and café. Anche se pochi studenti affronteranno la sfida di sviluppare software al di sotto del sistema operativo, la comprensione dei suoi principi di funzionamento è essenziale. In sè, la teoria dietro ai sistemi operativi non è particolarmente complessa: concetti come scheduling, livelli di esecuzione e semafori sono intuitivamente comprensibili; tuttavia appropriarsi pienamente di queste nozioni soltanto tramite lo studio teorico è quasi impossibile: serve un esempio pratico per assimilare i dettagli. Sviluppare un sistema operativo come progetto accademico è però diversi ordini di grandezza più difficile che creare un software in ambiente di lavoro già esistente. La complessità aggiunta dell'hardware va spesso oltre a quello che ci si aspetta dagli studenti, il che rende difficile anche soltanto la ricerca di un'architettura su cui lavorare. Questo studio è fortemente ispirato da precedenti soluzioni a questo problema come uMPS, un emulatore per il processore MIPS. Lavorando su una virtualizzazione semplificata gli studenti si possono concentrare sui concetti chiave dello sviluppo di un SO. Anche se ispirato a un'architettura reale, uMPS rimane comunque un ambiente astratto, e nel corso del lavoro potrebbe sorgere una sensazione di distacco dalla realtà. In questo studio si sostiene che un progetto simile possa essere sviluppato su hardware reale senza che questo diventi troppo complicato. L'architettura scelta è ARMv8, più moderna e diffusa rispetto a MIPS, nella forma della board educativa Raspberry Pi. Il risultato del lavoro è duplice: da una parte è stato portato avanti uno studio dettagliato su come sviluppare un sistema operativo minimale sul Raspberry Pi, dall'altra è stato creato un layer di astrazione che si occupa di semplificare l'approccio alle periferiche, permettendo agli utenti di costruirci sopra un piccolo sistema operativo. Pur facendo riferimento a un dispositivo reale, la possibilità di lavorare su un emulatore rimane grazie al supporto di Qemu.

Abstract:

Abstract The purpose of this study was to clarify the notion of diaconal nursing, to produce a description of diaconal nursing and to outline a model of it. The study was accomplished in three stages in accordance with the hybrid model developed by Schwarz-Barcott and Kim (2000). At the theoretical stage, the literature was searched for information of diaconal nursing. For this purpose, a discretionary sample of references dealing with diaconal work and nursing was collected in 1998–1999. The material was analyzed with methods of inductive content analysis. At the empirical stage, the narrative approach was used to collect experiential data about diaconal nursing. The data were collected in the form of written essays complemented by oral interviews. The narrators were a group of 70 senior nursing students with the orientation towards diaconal care, 36 teachers of diaconal care, two consecrated deaconess nurses from five polytechnics on different locations in Finland and eight nurses without diaconal education and four patients from the Kanta-Häme and Pirkanmaa regions. One of the informants was testing the diaconal nursing practice, and she discussed that in her personal narrative. The data were collected in 1998–2003. The substance of the empirical data was analyzed with holistic methods of narrative content analysis. At the analytical stage, diaconal nursing was described as a synthesis of the theoretical and empirical stages, and a model was constructed based on that description. The results indicated that nurses with and without diaconal education used different terms to describe diaconal nursing. Based on the model developed here, diaconal work and nursing are combined into diaconal nursing via the cultural level of religion. Diaconal nursing is a profession carried out in nursing environments and parishes by nurses with diaconal education. Knowledge of both nursing science and theology is applied. In addition to nursing interventions, caritative and liturgic interventions are also used in diaconal nursing. The term 'professional service' is in diaconal nursing. The interactive relationship is a professional human relationship, where the person being cared for receives care and compassion without an obligation to "pay back". For the nursing professional, actions accordant with the Christian view of humanity may be a resource in everyday nursing. The recipient of care is not expected to have a religious or other conviction. Diaconal nursing can be learnt through education, and being a professing Christian is not enough to make a nurse a professional of diaconal nursing. The knowledge produced is the study can be utilized in diaconal nursing instruction and helps students to encounter people in nursing practice. The model also provides insight for the development of diaconal nursing curricula in polytechnics Tiivistelmä Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selkiyttää käsitystä diakonisesta hoitotyöstä ja tuottaa kuvaus diakonisesta hoitotyöstä sekä rakentaa siitä malli. Tutkimus muodostuu kolmesta vaiheesta Schwarz - Barcottin ja Kimin (2000) kuvaaman hybridisen mallin mukaisesti. Teoreettisessa vaiheessa tehtävänä oli etsiä kirjallisuudesta tietoa diakonisesta hoitotyöstä. Tätä varten kerättiin 1998–1999 harkinnanvaraisella otannalla aineisto diakoniaa ja hoitotyötä käsittelevästä kirjallisuudesta. Aineisto analysoitiin induktiivisella sisällönanalyysilla. Empiirisessä vaiheessa koottiin narratiivista lähestymistapaa soveltaen kokemuksellista tietoa diakonisesta hoitotyöstä. Aineisto koottiin kirjoitelmina ja sitä täydennettiin haastatteluin. Kertojina oli 70 diakoniapainotteisen sairaanhoitajakoulutuksen päättävää opiskelijaa, 36 diakonian opettajaa, kaksi diakonian virkaan vihittyä sairaanhoitajaa viiden eri paikkakunnan ammattikorkeakoulusta sekä 8 sairaanhoitajaa ja 4 potilasta Kanta-Hämeestä ja Pirkanmaalta. Yksi kertojista testasi diakonista hoitotyötä hoitokäytännössä, josta hän tuotti sisäisen tarinansa. Aineisto koottiin 1998–2003 välisenä aikana. Aineisto analysoitiin holistis-sisällöllisesti narratiivisen aineiston analyysin mukaisesti. Analyyttisessa vaiheessa kuvattiin diakonista hoitotyötä teoreettisen ja empiirisen vaiheen muodostamana synteesinä, jonka perusteella siitä rakennettiin malli. Tulokset osoittivat, että diakoniaan kouluttautuneet ja kouluttautumattomat sairaanhoitajat puhuvat eri käsittein diakonisesta hoitotyöstä. Kehitetyn mallin mukaan diakonia ja hoitotyö yhdistyvät diakoniseksi hoitotyöksi uskonnon kulttuurisen tason kautta. Diakoninen hoitotyö on professio, jota tekevät diakoniseen hoitotyöhön kouluttautuneet sairaanhoitajat hoitotyön toimintaympäristöissä ja seurakunnissa. Siinä sovelletaan hoitotieteen ja teologian tietoa. Diakonisessa hoitotyössä toteutetaan hoitotyön auttamismenetelmien lisäksi karitatiivisia ja liturgisia auttamismenetelmiä. Diakonisessa hoitotyössä puhutaan ammatillisesta palvelemisesta. Vuorovaikutussuhde on ammatillinen lähimmäissuhde, jossa hoidettava kokee saavansa lahjomatonta hoitamista ja rakkauden tunnetta. Hoitotyöntekijälle kristillisen ihmiskäsityksen mukainen toiminta voi olla voimavara hoitamisen arjessa. Hoidettavana olevalta ihmiseltä ei edellytetä uskonnollista tai muuta vakaumusta. Diakoninen hoitotyö voidaan oppia koulutuksessa ja pelkkä hoitajan kristillinen vakaumus ei anna valmiuksia tähän työhön. Tutkimuksessa tuotettua tietoa voidaan hyödyntää hoitotyön opetuksessa ja sen seurauksena käytännön hoitotyössä ihmisen kohtaamisissa. Lisäksi tuotettu malli lisää ymmärrystä kehittää diakonista hoitotyötä opiskelevan sairaanhoitajan opetussuunnitelmaa ammattikorkeakoulussa

Includes bibliographical references (pages 50-52). Stormwater runoff degrades urban streams through a variety of hydrologic and water quality changes. Green infrastructure is one alternative to traditional methods of stormwater management. This report evaluates the feasibility of four green infrastructure Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the Malden River watershed. The WERF BMP SELECT model was used to generate performance and cost data for bioretention systems, swales, permeable pavement, and constructed wetlands in a portion of the Malden River watershed. Due to space constraints, bioretention systems and swales were found to have limited applicability within the streets of the study site. Permeable pavement was 5 to 70 times more expensive than the other BMP alternatives. Wetlands were found to be the most cost-effective alternative. A 5.3 acre wetland would cost $3.9 million and provide 50% Total Phosphorus reduction, 57% Total Suspended Solids reduction, and 33% flow reduction. Includes bibliographical references (pages 47-49). The Malden River is located in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. The River has a long history of abuse and neglect stemming from urbanization and industrial activity along the River and in the surrounding areas. Community groups, however, are advocating restoration of the Malden River to a healthy and thriving ecosystem that also provides a viable outdoor recreational area for the local community. There is concern, however, that bacterial concentrations are at levels that can cause excess gastrointestinal illness to recreational users. As part of assessing this issue, I performed a recreational risk assessment based on microbial concentration data from water quality sampling performed by the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). A significant difference in the bacterial data from the two organizations, in which samples are taken approximately one mile from each other, was found. This indicated the possibility of significant bacterial variability in the River and, therefore, risk was calculated separately for each data set. The Wiedenmann (2007) dose response model was used to analyze risk; however, not all site-specific parameters were known. Overall risk, risk after significant rainfall, and seasonal risk were all analyzed. Using the Wiedenmann risk model, I determined that after 0.5 inches of rain in 72 hours, exposure associated with primary and secondary recreation causes the incremental risk to double. The overall and seasonal risk analysis showed that the risks associated with the MyRWA sampling location were consistently at least twice that of the MWRA location. by Margaret Jacques. M. Eng.

Cette etude est axee sur l'oeuvre majeure du poete gabriel aresti, maldan behera (descente), ecrite en 1959. L'auteur de la these tente, dans une premiere partie, d'en faire l'analyse morphosemantique en soulignant notamment l'insuffisance des interpretations anterieures et aussi plus particulierement, celle des traductions qui en ont ete faites. La deuxieme partie est consacree a la "lecture initiatique" de l'oeuvre. Une telle lecture permet de mettre en lumiere le mouvement des images et leurs constellations. Ainsi voit-on que le poeme devoile l'itineraire initiatique du heros joane itineraire qui suit le cheme universel de descente, mort et resurrection. L'etude de l'imaginaire de maldan behera permet de nous reveler celui-ci sous un jour nouveau et insolite en laissant apparaitre, a travers les deux structures temporelles (cyclique et messianique) qui sous tendent l'oeuvre, l'importance des mythes d'engagement et de la philosophie nihiliste de l'aresti de cette epoque This is based upon gabriel aresti's major poem: maldan behera (descent), written in 1959. In the first part of his interpretation the study's author tackles a morphosemantic anamisis of the text and underlines the weakness of former critical works on the same topic and in particular of former translations of aresti's text. The second part of his study is dedicated to the "lecture initiatique" of the poem. Such an interpretation tends to highlight the movement of image and image network. The poem focuses upon joane,s intiation to heroism. It is a journey with the universal themes of descent, death and resurrection as a major milestones. The study of the imaginary world in maldan behera makes it possible to discover this piece of litterature from an original insight. Such an angle of vision helps us to identify the double use of myths in the poem : firstly to support a political engagement and secondly to recognize the temporal structures of messianis and cyclical kind which are the poem's framework

Abstract A model of intensive care nursing of patients and their significant others compatible with a data system was developed and evaluated by using an action research approach in 1997-2001. The study was carried out in Oulu University Hospital's ICUs for emergency and postoperative care and internal medicine. At stage I of the study, the model of intensive care nursing was developed and pilot-tested by collecting questionnaire data from the nurses who participated in the action research group (N = 14), from the texts produced by small groups made out of the action research group and the whole group (N = 33), by audio-recording oral report sessions (N = 57) and by using the researcher's written notes. The data for pilot testing were collected on a form from nursing documents (N = 17) and on a questionnaire from nurses (N = 11). The research data were analysed with methods of inductive and deductive content analysis. At stage II, the model was made compatible with the ICU data system. At stage III, the validity of the model was evaluated by analysing patient data drawn from the emergency and postoperative ICU's data system (N = 1464) and patient records filed by the researcher (N = 30). The patients' needs for nursing and the quantitative needs for staff were compared between the model of intensive care nursing and the Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System (TISS) based on the patient data drawn from the data systems of the emergency (N = 253) and postoperative (N = 579) ICU. The data were analysed using statistical methods and methods of content analysis. The model of intensive care nursing includes nursing diagnoses of the changes in the patient's vital functions, the restrictions and experiences caused by the disease and its treatment and the significant others' distress, the nursing to meet the severity of the health problems, the nursing interventions and the outcomes of nursing as well as the nursing workload. Based on the validity assessment, the model differentiated between the nursing interventions needed by the patients in different admission types and with different severity scores (p < 0.001). The model also provided a good prediction of the patients' risk of death (ROC 0.86-0.91). Contrary to TISS, the model gave higher nursing workload scores and a greater need for staff for the patients who were more ill on admission, and whose hospital stay was longer and mortality higher. The model can be used as a starting-point in developing evidence-based middle-range theory, which will provide a basis for demonstrating the efficacy of nursing in patients' overall care Tiivistelmä Tutkimuksessa kehitetään ja arvioidaan tietojärjestelmään soveltuva potilaan ja hänen läheistensä hoitotyötä kuvaava tehohoitotyön malli toimintatutkimuksen lähestymistapaa noudattaen vuosina 1997-2001. Tutkimusyhteisöinä toimivat Oulun yliopistollisen sairaalan päivystysalueen, postoperatiivinen ja sisätautien teho-osastot. Tutkimuksen I-vaiheessa kehitettiin ja esitestattiin tehohoitotyön malli keräämällä tutkimusaineisto kyselylomakkeen avulla toimintatutkimusryhmään osallistuneilta hoitajilta (N = 14), toimintatutkimusryhmästä muodostettujen pienryhmien ja toimintatutkimusryhmän tuottamista kirjallisista aineistoista (N = 33), äänittämällä raporttitilanteita (N = 57) ja tutkijan kirjallisista muistiinpanoista. Esitestausaineisto kerättiin lomakkeella hoitotyön dokumenteista (N = 17) ja kyselylomakkeella hoitajilta (N = 11). Tutkimusaineistot analysoitiin induktiivisella ja deduktiivisella sisällönanalyysillä. II-vaiheessa yhteensovitettiin malli tehotietojärjestelmään. III-vaiheessa arvioitiin mallin luotettavuutta päivystysalueen ja postoperatiivisen osaston tietojärjestelmästä kerätyn potilasaineiston (N = 1464) ja tutkijan arkistoitujen potilasasiakirjojen (N = 30) analyysien avulla. Potilaiden hoitoisuutta ja hoitohenkilökunnan määrällistä tarvetta verrattiin tehohoitotyön mallin ja Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System-luokituksen (TISS) kesken tietojärjestelmästä kerätyn päivystysalueen (N = 253) ja postoperatiivisen (N = 579) teho-osaston potilasaineiston perusteella. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin tilastollisin menetelmin ja sisällönanalyysin avulla. Tehohoitotyön malli kuvaa potilaan elintoimintojen muutoksiin, sairauden ja sen hoidon tuomiin rajoituksiin ja kokemuksiin sekä läheisten hätään liittyviä hoitotyön diagnooseja, terveysongelmien vaikeusasteita vastaavaa hoitotyötä, hoitotyön toimintoja ja hoitotyön tuloksia sekä hoitoisuutta. Luotettavuustutkimuksen mukaan malli erotteli tulotyypiltään ja sairauden vaikeusasteiltaan erilaisten potilaiden hoitotyötä (p < 0.001). Mallin avulla voitiin kuvata hyvin potilaiden kuoleman riskiä (ROC 0.86-0.91). Malli antoi suuremmat hoitoisuuspisteet ja henkilökunnan määrällisen tarpeen päinvastoin kuin TISS potilaille, jotka olivat tulovaiheessa sairaampia ja joiden hoitoaika oli pitkä ja kuolleisuus suuri. Mallia voidaan käyttää lähtökohtana näyttöön perustuvan keskitason teorian kehittämiseen, jolla voidaan antaa perusteet osoittaa tehohoitotyön vaikuttavuutta potilaan kokonaishoidossa

Abstract The study had two phases. The aim of the first phase was to describe and explain the quality of counselling as assessed by patients and nursing staff. The aim of the second phase was to define the concept of counselling and to test its structure. The data of the first phase of the study was gathered by postal survey from patients (n = 844) and nursing staff (n = 916) in Oulu university hospital. In the analysis, basic and multiple variable methods and content analysis was used. The results yielded a theme for further study for the second phase of the study. During the second phase, the concept of counselling was defined by concept analysis. The structure of the concept of counselling was tested with the aid of confirmatory factor analysis using data of the first phase (n = 844) of the study as data. The results of the first and second phase of the study were combined into a hypothetical counselling quality model. The resources available for counselling were relatively good but the time was insufficient. Nursing staff's counselling knowledge and skills were relatively good. Patients regarded the attitudes of the nursing staff as partly negative. Of the different counselling methods, individual oral counselling was the only on which the staff had good command. One in three patients received no written counselling material. In addition, one in five patients considered that counselling was not patient-centred. Interactivity was well implemented. However, before coming to the hospital, patients did not receive sufficient counselling on matters related to their illness and its treatment. During their stay at hospital, counselling on social support was insufficient. Counselling had little or no impact on one in three patients. Counselling had the least effect on the receipt of information by relatives. As a whole, patients did however consider counselling as being good. Counselling was defined as an action linked to the context, i.e. the background, of the patient and the nursing staff that was based on interaction, active and goal-oriented. According to the hypothetical model developed, the quality of counselling meant that counselling is based on the professional responsibility of the nursing staff, action linked to the context, i.e. the background, of the patient and the nursing staff that is based on interaction, active and goal-oriented, implemented with appropriate resources, sufficient and has an impact. The results of the study can be used in counselling theory formulation, improvement of counselling quality and in basic and continuing nursing education Tiivistelmä Tutkimus oli kaksivaiheinen. Ensimmäisen vaiheen tarkoituksena oli kuvailla ja selittää ohjauksen laatua potilaiden ja hoitohenkilöstön arvioimana. Tutkimuksen toisen vaiheen tarkoituksena oli määritellä ohjaus-käsite ja testata käsitteen rakenne. Tutkimuksen ensimmäisen vaiheen aineisto kerättiin tätä tutkimusta varten kehitetyillä mittareilla postikyselynä Oulun yliopistollisen sairaalan potilailta (n = 844) ja hoitohenkilöstöltä (n = 916). Aineiston analyysissä käytettiin perus- ja monimuuttujamenetelmiä sekä sisällönanalyysiä. Tulokset tuottivat jatkotutkimusaiheen tutkimuksen toiseen vaiheeseen. Tutkimuksen ensimmäisen ja toisen vaiheen tulokset yhdistettiin ohjauksen laadun hypoteettiseksi malliksi. Ohjauksen resurssit olivat kohtalaiset, mutta ohjausaika oli riittämätöntä. Hoitohenkilöstön tiedot ja taidot ohjata olivat kohtalaisen hyvät. Potilaiden mielestä hoitohenkilöstön asenteet olivat osittain kielteisiä, vaikka hoitohenkilöstö piti niitä myönteisinä. Ohjausmenetelmistä hoitohenkilöstö hallitsi hyvin vain suullisen yksilöohjauksen. Kolmannes potilaista ei saanut kirjallista ohjausmateriaalia lainkaan. Lisäksi viidennes potilaista arvioi, ettei ohjaustoiminta ollut potilaslähtöistä. Ohjauksen suunnittelussa ja arvioinnissa ei aina otettu potilaan taustatekijöitä huomioon. Vuorovaikutus toteutui hyvin. Ohjaus oli kuitenkin osittain riittämätöntä varsinkin ennen sairaalaan tuloa sairauteen ja sen hoitoon liittyvien asioiden osalta sekä sairaala-aikana sosiaalisen tuen osalta. Potilaslähtöinen ohjaustoiminta, ohjauksen riittävyys ja kokonaislaatu selittivät ohjauksen vaikutuksia. Ohjauksella oli vähän tai ei lainkaan vaikutusta kolmannekseen potilaista. Vähiten ohjaus vaikutti omaisten tiedonsaantiin. Kokonaisuudessaan potilaat pitivät ohjauksen laatua hyvänä. Ohjaus määriteltiin potilaan ja hoitohenkilöstön kontekstiin eli taustatekijöihin sidoksissa olevaksi, vuorovaikutussuhteessa rakentuvaksi, aktiiviseksi ja tavoitteelliseksi toiminnaksi. Ohjauksen lähtökohtana on potilaan ja hoitohenkilöstön konteksti, jonka kohtaaminen edellyttää vuorovaikutukselta kaksisuuntaisuutta. Vuorovaikutus on keino, jolla ohjaussuhdetta rakennetaan. Onnistunut vuorovaikutteinen ohjaussuhde mahdollistaa potilaan ja hoitohenkilöstön välisen aktiivisen ja tavoitteellisen toiminnan. Kehitetyn hypoteettisen mallin mukaan ohjauksen laadulla tarkoitettiin sitä, että ohjaus on hoitohenkilöstön ammatilliseen vastuuseen perustuvaa, potilaan ja hoitohenkilöstön kontekstiin eli taustatekijöihin sidoksissa olevaa, vuorovaikutussuhteessa rakentuvaa, aktiivista ja tavoitteellista toimintaa, joka on asianmukaisin resurssein toteutettua, riittävää ja vaikuttavaa. Viime vuosina pelinkehityksessä on ilmennyt ongelmia, jotka ovat aiheuttaneet arvioitujen kustannusten ja aikataulujen ylittymistä. Tämän kandidaatintyön tavoitteena on selvittää, kuinka Stage-Gate -mallia hyödynnetään pelinkehityksessä ratkaisemaan nämä ongelmat. Työssä selvitetään myös, millaisia muutoksia Stage-Gate -malliin tulee tehdä, jotta sitä voidaan soveltaa pelinkehitykseen. Tutkimus suoritettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena, joka sisältää keskeisimmän teorian Stage-Gate -malliin, ketteriin menetelmiin, Agile-Stage-Gate -hybridimalliin sekä pelinkehitykseen ja sen haasteisiin liittyen. Stage-Gate on projektinhallinnan malli, joka jakaa tuotekehitysprojektin hyvin määriteltyihin vaiheisiin, joita erottavat tiukat läpäisyvaatimukset omaavat portit. Stage-Gate -mallilla keskitytään kehityksen suunnitteluun ja laadukkaaseen toteutukseen mahdollisimman vähillä muutoksilla. Ohjelmistokehityksessä hyödynnetään ketteriä menetelmiä, jotka pitävät muutoksia välttämättömyyksinä. Ketterässä ohjelmistokehityksessä tuote kehitetään iteratiivisesti viimeisimpiin vaatimuksiin nopeasti reagoiden. Stage-Gate -malli ja ketterät menetelmät eivät kuitenkaan ole toisiaan poissulkevia, sillä viime vuosikymmenen aikana on kehitetty molempien hyvät puolet yhdistäviä hybridimalleja. Pelinkehityksen suurimmat haasteet ovat projektin laajuuden arvioiminen, viime hetken muutoksiin reagoiminen sekä monialaisten tiimien johtaminen. Pelinkehitysprojekti tapahtuu hyvin määriteltyjen vaiheiden läpi, joten sen johtaminen Stage-Gate -mallia hyödyntämällä auttaa pitämään projektin suunnitellun budjetin ja aikataulun sisällä. Monialaisten tiimien aiheuttamiin kommunikaatio- ja teknisiin ongelmiin auttaa yhteisen vision ja aikataulun mukaan työskenteleminen. Kehityksen aikana tapahtuviin muutoksiin sekä hyvän pelattavuuden etsimiseen käytetään ketteriä menetelmiä. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen perusteella on selvää, että pelinkehitykseen ei riitä mikään aikaisempi menetelmä sellaisenaan. Pelinkehityksessä yhdistetään Stage-Gate -projektin tarkka rakenne ja huolellinen suunnittelu ketterien menetelmien iteratiiviseen kehitykseen. Uusi Agile-Stage-Gate on hyvä esimerkki tällaisesta hybridimallista, johon pelinkehittäjien kannattaa perehtyä suunnitellessaan tulevia projekteja In the recent years, game development has faced problems causing budget and schedule overruns. The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to discover how the Stage-Gate model is used in game development to solve these problems. This thesis also explores the modifications required for the Stage-Gate model to be suitable for game development. The research was conducted as a literature review containing the essential theories behind the Stage-Gate model, Agile methods, the Agile-Stage-Gate hybrid model as well as game development and its challenges. Stage-Gate is a project management model that divides a product development project into well-defined stages separated by gates with strict throughput requirements. The Stage-Gate model focuses on planning the development and quality of execution with minimal changes on the way. Software development uses Agile methods which considers changes as a necessity. In Agile software development, the development happens iteratively with fast reactions to the latest requirements. However, the Stage-Gate model and Agile methods are not mutually exclusive since hybrid models combining the merits of both have been developed in the last decade. The most significant challenges in game development are estimating the scale of the project, reacting to last-minute changes and managing multidisciplinary teams. A game development project goes through well-defined stages so managing it using the Stage-Gate model supports keeping the project within budget and schedule. Working for mutual vision and schedule helps solving communication and technical problems caused by multidisciplinary teams. Agile methods are used to manage changes during development and to find the right gameplay. Based on the literature review, any of the previous methods is not suitable for game development as such. Game development combines the strict project structure and thorough planning of the Stage-Gate model with the iterative development of Agile. The new Agile-Stage-Gate is a good example of such hybrid model in which game developers should keep an eye on while planning future projects

L’enseignement supérieur malien et notamment l’Université de Bamako est confrontée à d’énormes difficultés depuis plusieurs années. Qu’est ce qui explique ces difficultés et comment faire pour rendre plus efficace cet enseignement supérieur afin de rehausser les niveaux et le rendre compétitif sur le plan sous régional et international ? Cette question nous a conduit à nous intéresser à l’étude de son efficacité interne. Le présent travail est une contribution à la recherche de facteurs de ces difficultés et d’alternatives pour y remédier. Il tente de dégager des pistes de réflexion sur l’amélioration des conditions de travail de l’Université de Bamako.La Faculté des Lettres, Langues, Arts et Sciences humaines de l’Université de Bamako a été retenue comme terrain de la recherche. Après la recherche documentaire pour l’élaboration d’une revue de littérature, la préférence a été donnée en premier lieu à une analyse des résultats d’examens de deux promotions de la filière Sciences de l’éducation de 2001 à 2009. Dans l’analyse il a été question d’indicateurs tels que l’évolution des effectifs, les taux de réussite, d’abandon, d’exclusion, le genre et les caractéristiques extra universitaires des étudiants. Cette analyse qui a conclu à une faible efficacité interne de l’Université de Bamako a été suivie par d’autres investigations par entretiens, observations et questionnaires auprès d’un échantillon d’étudiants, d’enseignants et d’administrateurs de l’Université. Après une analyse des données recueillies lors de ces investigations, nous avons terminé par une discussion de l’ensemble des résultats The Malian higher education and notably the University of Bamako is confronted to enormous difficulties since several years. What explains these difficulties and how to make more efficient this higher education in order to heighten the levels and to make he competitive on the plan under regional and international? This question drove us to interest us to the survey of her internal efficiency. The present work is a contribution in search of factors of these difficulties and alternatives to remedy there. He tempts to clear tracks of reflection on the improvement of the conditions of work of the University of Bamako. The Faculty of the Letters, Languages, Arts and human sciences of the University of Bamako has been kept like land of research. After the documentary research for the development of a literature magazine, the preference has been given to an analysis of the exams results of two promotions of the path Sciences of the education of 2001 in the first place to 2009. In the analysis it was question of indicators as the evolution of the strengths, rate of success, abandonment, exclusion, kind, extra feature academic of the students. Bakgrund: I Sverige insjuknar varje år 1300 personer i en hjärntumör. Genom de subjektivasymtom som hjärntumören medför kan livet förändras. Biverkningar efter olika behandlingarkan även de medföra förändringar som påverkar hur det är att leva samt en persons livsvärld.För att förbättra livskvalitén behöver sjuksköterskan kunskap om de subjektiva symtomensom kan uppkomma vid insjuknandet med en malign hjärntumör. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva vuxna personers upplevelser av att leva med enmalign hjärntumör. Metod: Två stycken patografier analyserades med en kvalitativ design. Patografiernaanalyserades med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys utifrån hur Graneheim och Lundmanbeskriver. Studien hade en manifest ansats med latenta inslag. Resultat: I analysen framkom det fem kategorier, hjärntumören gav kroppslig påverkan,tappade kontrollen över sitt liv, förnekade hjärntumören, livet blev en kamp och stöd varbetydelsefullt. Det framkom att personerna med en malign hjärntumör upplevde attsjukdomen och behandlingarna gav påverkan som exempelvis trötthet. De upplevde ävenkänslor som rädsla, ångest, chock och kontrollförlust. Hjärntumören kunde även förnekas avpersonerna. Stöd från vänner och familj var något som kunde upplevas betydelsefullt.Slutsats: Den maligna hjärntumören gav en upplevelse av trötthet, talsvårigheter,kontrollförlust samt att relation till närstående påverkades. Detta påverkade i sin tur hur detvar att leva. Genom att uppmärksamma detta kan sjuksköterskan hjälpa personen att återfåhälsa och för att underlätta för en person med en malign hjärntumör, kan sjuksköterskanöppna upp för samtal och genom att beakta en persons unikhet ge information.

Elimistön sisäinen tasapaino on riippuvainen munuaisten toiminnasta, ja krooninen munuaistauti on väestöltään ikääntyvissä länsimaissa yleisimpiä sairastavuutta lisääviä ja kuolemaan johtavia sairauksia. Aikuisen munuaiskudos ei käytännössä uusiudu, ja taudin loppuvaiheessa munuaisensiirto on nykyisellään ainoa hoitokeino, jolla sen kaikki toiminnot voidaan korvata. Hoitokeinojen kehittämistä hidastaa osaltaan se, että munuainen on monimutkainen elin emmekä tunne tarkasti sen kehityksen ja toiminnan mekanismeja. 3D-tulostus on kehittyvä ala, jonka sovelluksilla on suuria tulevaisuuden mahdollisuuksia myös lääketieteessä. Tässä työssä tutkitaan lääketieteellisen 3D-tulostuksen ja erityisesti munuaisen 3D-biotulostuksen mahdollisuuksia teoriassa ja käytännössä. Työ taustoitetaan katsauksella munuaisen organogeneesiin ja työssä käytettäviin lääketieteellisiin kuvaus-, mallinnus- ja tulostusmenetelmiin. Lisäksi esitellään muista tutkimuksista yleistetty malli 3D-tulostusprosessin vaiheista. Työn konkreettisena vaatimuksena on luoda hiiren alkion munuaisen tomografiakuvista tulostettavat pintamallit ja rakentaa ne tarkoitukseen sopivilla 3D-tulostimilla. Lopulliset menetelmät on valittu visualisointia ajatellen ja teoriaa hyväksi käyttäen, huomioiden tutkimuksen tarpeet mutta mahdollisen tulostintekniikan puitteissa. Tulosteet mitataan ja niitä verrattaan lähteenä käytettyihin malleihin. Vertailun perusteella jotkut tuloste- ja mallimittaukset eroavat toisistaan selkeästi, ja mahdollisia syitä tähän arvioidaan. Tuloksia ja käytettyjä menetelmiä arvioidaan kriittisesti. Lopuksi pohditaan siirremunuaisen 3D-tulostuksen mahdollisuuksia muiden munuaistautiin parannusta etsivien tutkimussuuntien ohella. Kaikki lähestymistavat ovat riippuvaisia munuaisen molekyylitason mekanismien paremmasta tuntemuksesta. 3D-biotulostus on vasta alkuvaiheessaan.

L'ounanien, a debitage laminaire, sur le plateau du khnachich, peut deriver d'industries du tenere. Avec les debuts de l'aridification, les stations du pays rouge empietent sur les depots anterieurs. Au nord-ouest des iforas, se developpe une culture originale de "sites a enceinte", a dominante pastorale, outre le tilemsi, les populations se retirent sur les rives du nouveau delta interieur du niger. On retrouve a kobadi dans le sahel malien les derniers representants des cromagnoides africains, dates de 3 300 bp, dans un contexte paleolacustre similaire a celui de hassi et abiod.

No. of bitstreams: 0 A presente tese realiza uma leitura e tradução de alguns contos representativos da obra da escritora alemã contemporânea Gabriele Wohmann, sob um enfoque téorico-feminista. Na introdução, a autora e sua obra são apresentadas em linhas gerais, além de alguns aspectos da recepção das mesmas. Também os objetivos de cada capítulo da tese são explanados. O primeiro capítulo proporciona um embasamento teórico para a análise dos contos realizados na tese, delineando uma política feminista da leitura. A partir da discussão sobre a história das teorias feministas da leitura, seu diálogo com outras teorias da leitura vigentes, passando por uma contraposição de modelos de leitura essencialistas e antiessencialistas, conclui-se que as leituras são necessariamente subjetivas, adotando-se uma noção de sujeito da leitura como uma posição, histórica, geográfica, cultural e politicamente situada. O segundo capítulo enfoca a postura contraditória das personagens wohmannianas com relação ao feminismo, mostrando como, por um lado, elas enfrentam situações de preconceito e misoginia e, por outro lado, rejeitam qualquer identificação com o movimento feminista. O terceiro capítulo aborda o aspecto da violência simbólica que muitas personagens wohmanianas vivenciam em seu cotidiano, como conseqüência de seus conflitos de identidade e de sua auto-alienação. O quarto capítulo discute as relações nada amorosas de algumas personagens wohmannianas. Esta temática é um exemplo de como a autora trata assuntos comumente considerados de ordem estritamente privada, como dignos da arena pública, atribuindo a estas questões uma importante dimensão política. A conclusão faz uma releitura do mais conhecido clichê da crítica com relação à obra de Wohmann, o do olhar maldoso, desviando esse olhar das mazelas das personagens analisadas e re-direcionando-o para o contexto pequeno-burguês, patriarcal e misógino em que elas vivem. Assim, ratifica-se a atualidade desta obra no contexto de lutas pela emancipação feminina na Alemanha e, a partir da publicação da tradução dos contos em questão, possivelmente também no Brasil.

The portion of the Malden River in Malden, Massachusetts, has a long history of industrial activity and urbanization, which has degraded the water quality and ecosystem of the River. Following years of water quality testing, community groups are concerned about the River's current state of ecological health and its safety for recreational use. A first step to understanding the River's current state is to understand its hydrology and the effect of rainfall on stormwater discharge to the River. This thesis develops a site specific model to characterize runoff from rainfall as it flows across the watershed, through the drainage system, and into the River. The Storm Water Management Model (SWMM), developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), was used because it was deemed the most appropriate of the readily available models for this urban setting. This model characterizes the impervious nature of the land surface in the study site. Both the Curve Number and Green-Ampt infiltration methods were used for the runoff processes, with the Curve Number methods producing higher runoff values. For the hydraulic processes used to calculate flow in the drainage system, kinematic wave routing was used. The results showed substantial internal flooding within the drainage system. Since such flooding has not been observed, this is an indication that the hydraulics portion of this model requires further refinement in order to achieve fully accurate simulation. However, this model does achieve the goal of providing insight into the watershed's hydrology, and develops a foundation from which more robust analyses can done to model water quality and pollutant loadings, which may be used in support of remediation strategies for the Malden River. by Sara Greenberg. Malign hjärntumör är en vanlig sjukdom som ger olika former av symtom beroende på var tumören är lokaliserad och behandlingsformerna kan ge olika komplikationer. Det finns inga tydliga riktlinjer för hur omvårdnaden kring patienten med malign hjärntumör ska bedrivas. Syftet med denna studie var därför att sammanställa ett kunskapsunderlag angående omvårdnadsåtgärder för patienter med malign hjärntumör. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie i form av en granskning av vetenskapliga artiklar, vårdprogram, kandidat- och magisteruppsatser och böcker. Resultatet visade vem, hur, var, vad och när information ska ges till patienten. Det visade också vilka åtgärder sjuksköterskan ska beakta i samband med läkemedelshantering vid cytostatikabehandling, kortisonbehandling och epileptiskt anfall. Sjuksköterskan ska ha kunskap om hur observationer/övervakningar ska genomföras samt hur den speciella omvårdnaden bör genomföras vid strålbehandling, illamående, malnutrition, trötthet/depression och febertillstånd. Även kontaktsjuksköterskans roll i stöd och samordning behandlas. Kunskapsunderlaget visade vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder patienter med malign hjärntumör är i behov av. Implementeringen av kunskapsunderlaget medför en evidensbaserad grund för omvårdnadsarbetet och en ökad patientsäkerhet. Studien visar att det behövs mer omvårdnadsforskning inriktad på patienter med hjärntumör för att kunna ge en evidensbaserad omvårdnad till dessa patienter. Malign brain tumor is a common illness which gives different kinds of symptoms depending upon where the tumor is located. The treatment can give complications with many different symptoms. There are no clear guidelines how to practice nursing of the patient with a malign brain tumor. The aim of the study was therefore to compile knowledge about nursing interventions for patients with malign brain tumor. The study´s method was a review of literature of scientific articles, care programs, bachelor- and master´s thesis and books. Findings showed whom, how, where, what and when information should be given and how to manage the medication when patient was given chemotherapy, cortisone and epileptic seizures. Nurses must have knowledge of how observation/monitoring must be carried out. How nursing should be carried out at radiotherapy, nausea, malnutrition, fatigue/depression and at fever. One specific nurse is responsible for contacts and her role is to support and coordinate for the patient. The knowledge shows which nursing interventions the patient with a malign brain tumor needs. Implementation of the knowledge-based guidelines involves an evidence-based foundation for the nursing practice and an increased patient safety. More nursing research is needed in the future of patients with brain tumor.

Työ jakaantuu kolmeen osaan, joista ensimmäisessä tarkastelen yhteisöasumisen pohjoismaisen mallin ajankohtaisuutta väestörakenteiden muutosten, asumisen individualisoitumisen sekä kaupunkien vetovoiman kasvun aiheuttamien haasteiden kautta. Pohdin myös yhteisöasumisen potentiaalia näiden erilaisten haasteiden ratkaisuvaihtoehtona urbaanin kerrostaloasumisen näkökulmasta. Toisessa osassa tarkastelen esimerkkikohteiden kautta erilaisia yhteisöasumisen pohjoismaisen mallin peruspiirteitä tilasuunnittelun perspektiivistä. Pohdin myös erilaisia suunnittelukeinoja, joilla yhteisöllisyyden syntymistä ja ylläpitämistä voisi mahdollistaa. Bakgrund Icke-maligna prostataförändringar är ett utbrett samhällsproblem och en vanlig anledning till att människor söker sjukvård. Prostatit och benign prostatahyperplasi är två icke-maligna förändringar som kan te sig på olika sätt och kan orsaka lidande hos de drabbade, ofta genom ”lower urinary tract symptoms” och smärta som är vanliga symtom. Att lindra lidande är vårdens uppgift och en sjuksköterskas ansvar. Syfte Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att belysa hur det är att leva med en icke-malign prostataförändring. Metod Metoden som användes var icke-systematisk litteraturöversikt där 18 artiklar analyserades. Resultat Resultatet efter att ha analyserat de inkluderad studierna visade att icke-maligna prostataförändringar kan ha inverkan på samliv och relationer, ge upphov till känslor av skam, rädsla och oro, att det finns faktorer som kan vara mer eller mindre gynnsamma vid dessa tillstånd samt att det finns rum för förbättring vid mötet med sjukvården. Slutsats Resultatet i denna litteraturöversikt visar på att leva med icke-maligna prostataförändringar och symtomen de ger upphov till kan ha en tydlig inverkan på drabbade personers liv och livskvalitet i ett flertal aspekter Background Non-malignant prostatic conditions are a prevalent problem in society and a common reason as to why people seek medical care. Prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia are two examples of non-malignant conditions that can appear in different ways and that could cause the afflicted person suffering, oftentimes through symptoms like pain and lower urinary tract symptoms. Alleviating suffering is an undertaking of health-care professionals’ and a nurse’s responsibility. Aim The aim of this literature review was to illuminate what it is like to live with a non-malignant prostatic condition. Method Non-systematic literature review where 18 articles were analyzed. Results The results of the included and analyzed studies show that non-malignant prostatic conditions can influence intimate relationships, cause feelings of shame, fear and worry, that there are factors that can be more or less favourable in relation to these conditions and that there is room for improvement in the meeting with healthcare professionals. Conclusions The results in this non-systematic literature review show that living with non-malignant prostatic conditions, and the symptoms they cause, can have a significant influence on the affected persons’ lives and quality of life in several aspects.

Nous verrons que dès l’indépendance acquise en 1960, le Mali a entrepris de protéger juridiquement son environnement avec la Convention d’Alger de 1968 et la loi forestière de la même année. Le présent mémoire est divisé en deux parties, la première étant consacrée à la période pré démocratique, allant de 1960 à 1991, et la seconde couvrant la période démocratique, allant de 1991 à nos jours. Pendant la période pré démocratique, le Mali a adopté peu de textes juridiques dans le domaine de la lutte contre la désertification. Cette faille fut corrigée au cours de la seconde période. En ce sens, l’analyse effectuée permet de relever les failles dans les textes juridiques maliens en matière de lutte contre la désertification depuis l’indépendance du pays à nos jours et de proposer des recommandations en vue de parfaire le droit de la lutte contre la désertification. This study concerns the urban development of the former industrial district Sofielund, Malmö. The area is widely know for it’s mix of cultures, activity and grass root culture, which provides the city of Malmö with a large social and culture arena. Sofielund’s central location makes it highly attractive in a planning perspective and a group of property owners, along with the municipality of Malmö, have created a BID-constellation to further develop the district. The BID-association, Fastighetsägare Sofielund, is the areas most influential development actor today and it’s also the outsourcer of two planning documents, which intends to ensure sustainable development in the area. This thesis questions the everyday use of sustainable development and critically analyze the two planning documents discursively, as well as in relation to common planning ideals. The study examine what values and assumptions the reports are based on and how they correlate with the social and cultural values Fastighetsägare Sofielund, with Malmö stad, claim to strive for in the development of Sofielund.

Inom spelvärlden finns det många karaktärer med stereotypiska drag, som t.ex. har skurkar ofta spetsigare drag medan de goda har mjukare former. Dessa karaktärer är skapade för att vi snabbt ska kunna identifiera dem, då människor har en tendens att tolka andra utifrån de stereotypa drag som de finner hos personen. Denna studie undersöker om det är möjligt att skapa en viss typ av spelkaraktär utan att följa den stereotypiska mallen men ändå kunna förmedla vad för typ den är. För att ta reda på det har en litteraturstudie och analys av kända spelkaraktärer genomförts. Utifrån resultatet från dessa har framtagning av karaktären skett i två versioner, en stereotypiskt och en neutralt. Sedan utfördes en enkätundersökning för att ta reda på hur respondenterna uppfattade karaktären. Resultatet visade sig att det var svårt att skapa en viss typ av spelkaraktär utan att ge den stereotypiska drag, i alla fall när den porträtterades med ett neutralt ansiktsuttryck och kroppspråk.

Pro gradu -tutkielmassani tutkin metallinilmaisimen käytettävyyttä myöhäisrautakauden kohteita inventoitaessa. Metallinilmaisinharrastajat ovat viime vuosina Suomessa löytäneet useita myöhäiselle rautakaudelle ajoittuvia löytöjä, mistä syystä oli tarvetta tutkia, voisivatko arkeologit käyttää metallinilmaisinta inventoinnin apuna. Valittu tutkimusalue on Perämeren rannikkoalue, jota aikaisemmin pidettiin vähälöytöisenä ja myöhäisrautakauden osalta epäselvänä alueena, kunnes 2010-luvulla metallinilmaisinharrastajat löysivät alueelta useita myöhäisrautakautisia esineitä. Tutkimuksissa kyseiset löydöt ovat osoittaneet Perämeren alueella olleen kiinteää asutusta ja ihmistoimintaa. Kohteiden sijainti viittaa myöhäisrautakautisen arkeologisen aineiston sijoittuvan jokisuiden saariin ja myöhäisrautakautisille rantatasoille. Inventointia kohdennetaan ennustavan mallin avulla, jonka perustana ovat jokisuut sekä myöhäisrautakautiset rantatasot. Yksittäisinä tarkastettavina kohteita toimivat satunnaispisteet, jotka jaettiin neljään eri luokkaan. Satunnaispisteiden lähiympäristöä haravoitiin metallinilmaisimen avulla. Inventoinnissa käytiin läpi yhteensä 96 satunnaispistettä. Inventoinnin aikana löydettiin useita epämääräisiä kuoppakohteita, joille ei voida antaa tarkkaa ajoitusta. Myöhäiselle rautakaudelle ajoittuvaa arkeologista aineistoa ei löytynyt. Inventoinnin tulosten perusteella metallinilmaisin on huono työkalu myöhäisrautakauden inventoinnissa. Metallinilmaisininventointi on varsin hidasta, johtuen sen pienestä kattavuusalueesta ja moderneista signaaleista, joiden tarkistamiseen voi kulua paljon aikaa. Abstract:

Le droit malien des successions tire ses sources des nombreuses coutumes du pays, du droit musulman et du droit français applicable en Afrique occidentale française. Cette diversité des sources, eut pour conséquence la diversité des statuts. Ayant procédé à l'indépendance à l'unification des juridictions par l'organisation judiciaire issue de la loi 61-55 AN-RM du 15-5-1961, ainsi qu'à l'élaboration de la loi sur la parente, le gouvernement malien s'est donné pour tâche d'élaborer un projet de loi des successions ayant pour objectif l'unification des différentes règles applicables en la matière en vue de promouvoir les droits des descendants dont l'enfant naturel et du conjoint survivant. En outre, il se donne pour mission de mettre fin aux disparités de conditions qu'appliquent les droits traditionnels et de permettre l'héritage individuel afin de consolider l'unité nationale et de favoriser le développement économique et social du pays. Pour réaliser ces objectifs, la solution qu'il préconise est l'abrogation des droits traditionnels du nouveau droit successoral, qui sont accuses d'être divers, rétrogrades et constituant un obstacle au développement. En dépit de ces accusations, les droits traditionnels restent vivaces en milieu rural qui constitue 85% de la population du pays. Pour que le nouveau droit puisse remplir les objectifs qui lui sont assignés, il doit intégrer en son sein les droits traditionnels. Cette intégration peut se faire dans une première étape par une option en faveur du droit musulman à cause de sa large implantation, du fait que la plupart des coutumes sont soit teintées d'islam, soit entièrement islamisées, ainsi que son invocation par la majorité des maliens pour le règlement des successions. Cette option étant déterminée par la volonté individuelle, ne peut pas être contraire à la Early after independence, Mali's government, establishing heterogeneity of estate duties origins - Muslim law, French law applicable in French west African countries and practices - had engaged unification or harmonization of these laws through a reform project (Loi 61-55-AN-RM of 15-5-19961). In collaboration with Afry, the focus of this thesis is to facilitate the transition from an Industrial park into an Eco-park using industrial symbiosis strategy, in the industrial harbor of Malmö. To transition into a collaboration where physical exchanges of energy, waste, materials and other by-products between different facilities takes place. Some of the keys to an industrial symbiosis are proximity, government planning and self-organization. The aim of the thesis is to create a digital platform that can facilitate the connectivity between facilities and organizations and to inspire a social transition. Therefore, this thesis uses transition design as an approach, touching upon topics such as organizational collaboration, industrial symbiosis strategy and knowledge sharing. Whilst using Research through design for designing a technology that can inspire collective transition into a more sustainable future. Design methodology from Service design and Interaction design, such as user researching, customer journey mapping and prototyping, is used when designing for a somewhat unexplored area in Sweden.

Jordens resurser används flitigt av människan och bidrar bland annat till samhällsutvecklingar. Men användandet bidrar också till utsläpp av växthusgaser, global uppvärmning och vattenanvändning. För att minska det ekologiska fotavtrycket och resursanvändningen har städer och aktörer börjat utveckla industriell symbios som är ett samarbete där en restprodukt från ett företag blir en resurs till ett annat företag. Den här samhällsutveckling påvisar en samhällsövergång för att utveckla och sammanföra ekonomin, miljön och samhället. Studien undersöker om transition management som styrningsstrategi kan appliceras i etableringen av industriell symbios i Malmö hamnområde. För att svara på frågan behövdes en delfrågeställning som löd: Hur har processen av projektet, delad energi är dubbel energi, gått till i Malmö stad hamnområde? Delad energi är dubbel energi är ett projekt som utvecklat industriell symbios i Malmö stad. Projektet påbörjades 2015 och avslutades under 2019 där 12 aktörer varit delaktiga. Fyra intervjuer genomfördes med personer delaktiga i projektet på ett eller annat sätt. I analysen sammanställdes information från informanterna och på delad energi är dubbel energis hemsida, utifrån transition management-modellen. Vi delade upp analysen i fyra komponenter från modellen som är transition-arena, transition-agenda,transition-actionochtransition-adaption.Idethärarbetetbehandlarvi transition-processensomövergångentillcirkulärekonomigenomindustriellsymbios. Transition management-modellens syfte är att genom en transition gå från ett jämviktsläge till ett annat. The earth's resources contribute, among other things, to societal developments. But it also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, global warming and water use. To reduce the ecological footprint and resource use, cities and actors have begun to develop industrial symbiosis, which is a collaboration where a residual product from one company becomes a resource for another company. This societal development demonstrates a societal transition to develop and bring together economy, the environment and society. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether transition management as a management strategy could have been applicable in the establishment process of industrial symbiosis in the Malmö port area. The main question was whether it would have been possible for the City of Malmö to use the transition management model during the establishment process of industrial symbiosis in the port area. To answer that question, a sub-question was needed: How did the process of the project, delad energi är dubbel energi, tok place in the port area of Malmö? Delad energi är dubbel energi is the project that has developed industrial symbiosis in the city of Malmö, where we have, among other things, taken part in the project process. The project began in 2015 and ended in 2019 where 12 actors were involved at the beginning. To answer our questions, four interviews were conducted with people who have all been involved in the project in one way or another. The analysis compiled the information we received from the informants and what we found on shared energy is a dual energy website, based on the transition management model. We divided the analysis into four components from the model, which are transition arena, transition agenda, transition action and transition adaptation. In this work, we treat the transition process as the transition to a circular economy through industrial symbiosis. The purpose of the transition management model is to use the specified transition to go from one equilibrium position to another.

Abstract:

Syfte: Att belysa sjuksköterskors och patienters upplevelser av vården vid långvarig icke-malign smärta. Metod: Den föreliggande uppsatsen har gjorts som en litteraturstudie där tolv vetenskapliga artiklar har analyserats. Resultat: Sjuksköterskor upplevde smärtbedömningen som en utmaning och ansåg att när de inte trodde på patientens smärtbeskrivning, var det ett hinder för en bra bedömning. Patienterna upplevde att de ofta blev misstrodda av vårdpersonalen och betonade vikten av att bli trodd. Det var viktigt för patienterna att få en diagnos och att hänsyn togs till deras önskan om vad behandlingen skulle resultera i. Patienterna upplevde att deras mål och vårdpersonalens mål med behandlingen inte alltid stämde överens. Sjuksköterskorna upplevde att utbildningen inte förberedde dem för att ta hand om patienter med långvarig smärta och att kunskapen om icke-farmakologiska behandlingsmetoder var bristfällig. Behandling med opioider var en komplex fråga. Sjuksköterskorna kände sig ofta obekväma i att använda opioider, medan patienterna inte ville begränsa möjligheten till adekvat smärtlindring. Slutsats: Det finns ett behov av fördjupad kunskap hos sjuksköterskorna om vården vid långvarig smärta. Aim: To elucidate nurses and patients experiences of the care of chronic non-malignant pain. Method: This thesis was a literature review. Twelve articles have been analyzed. Results: Nurses experienced pain assessment as a challenge. Nurses felt that a barrier to pain assessment was when nurses did not believe in patients’ description of their pain. Patients experienced that they often were mistrusted by healthcare providers and emphasized the importance of believing in them. It was important for patients to receive diagnosis and that their desire regarding the results of the treatment was considered. Patients sometimes experienced a discrepancy between their own goals with the treatment and that of the healthcare providers. Nurses thought that their education did not prepare them properly in how to take care of patients with chronic pain and they had poor knowledge about non- pharmacological treatments. Treatments with opioids were a complex issue. Nurses often felt uncomfortable in using opioids, while patients wanted no restrictions in their strive for adequate pain relief. Conclusion: There is a need for deeper knowledge among nurses about how to care for patients with chronic non-malignant pain.

Yritysten kaikki taloudelliset päätökset kiteytyvät oman pääoman sijoittajien tuoton maksimoinnin ympärille. Jotta kaikki yrityksen tekemät päätökset edesauttavat tätä tavoitetta, on yrityksessä jatkuvasti tehtävä tutkimusta yrityksen taloudellisesta tilasta. Tämä onnistuu keräämällä aineistoa yrityksen sisäisistä ja ulkoisista tekijöistä, ja soveltamalla näitä tietoja sopiviin analyysimenetelmiin. Tutkimuksen avulla voidaan tehdä päätelmiä yrityksen nykyisestä taloudellisesta tilasta ja tulevaisuuden arvosta. Yksi analyysimenetelmä yrityksen tulevan menestyksen arvioimiseen on arvonmääritys. Yrityksen arvon määrittäminen on yksi mahdollisuus koota tietoja kokonaisuudeksi, jonka avulla yrityksen oman pääoman sijoittajien tuotto saadaan maksimoitua. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena on suorittaa arvonmääritysprosessi kokonaisuudessaan yksittäiselle listaamattomalle pk-yritykselle. Arvonmäärityksen vaiheisiin kuuluvat strateginen analyysi, tilinpäätösanalyysi, tulevan kehityksen arviointi, yrityksen riskisyyden määrittäminen ja yrityksen lopullinen arvon määrittäminen arvonmääritysmallien avulla. Käytettäviksi malleiksi on valittu vapaan kassavirran malli ja lisäarvomalli. Nämä kaksi mallia ovat usein käytettyjä arvonmääritysmalleja ja ne ovat listaamattomalle osakeyhtiölle soveltuvia malleja. Tutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää arvonmäärityksen vaiheet kohdeyrityksen tapauksessa, analysoida kahden valitun mallin soveltuvuutta listaamattoman osakeyhtiön arvon määrittämiseen ja pohtia arvonmääritysprosessin vaiheisiin liittyviä ongelmakohtia. Yrityksen taloudellista kehittymistä ja tulevan kehityksen arvioita on tarkasteltu strategisen analyysin ja tilinpäätösanalyysin avulla. Yrityksen riskisyyttä on arvioitu kokonaispääoman tuottovaatimuksen avulla. Lopullisen arvonmäärityksen tuloksena yrityksen arvoksi saadaan vapaan kassavirran mallin avulla 5,1 miljoonaa euroa ja lisäarvomallin avulla 8,2 miljoonaa euroa. Mallit siis tuottavat toisistaan poikkeavat arvot. Mallien keskinäisen eron arvioidaan johtuvan vapaan kassavirran mallin lisäarvomallia voimakkaammasta herkkyydestä kokonaispääoman tuottovaatimuksen ja kasvuennusteiden muutoksille. Herkkyys näille tekijöille johtuu ennen kaikkea siitä, että vapaan kassavirran mallin muodostama arvo muodostuu suurelta osin vasta tulevaisuudessa, kun lisäarvomallissa suurin osa yrityksen arvosta muodostuu yrityksen nykyisestä pääomasta. Vaikka lisäarvomallin on havaittu tuottavan kassavirtoihin tai osinkoihin perustuvia malleja luotettavampia tuloksia, ei tuloksia ei tule ottaa absoluuttisena totuutena. Loppujen lopuksi yrityksen arvo määräytyy tilanteen osapuolten yhteisymmärryksen tuloksena ja arvonmääritysmallien antamat tulokset antavat vain raamit yrityksen arvolle. Tulosten avulla kohdeyritys pystyy arvioimaan yrityksensä arvoa ja käyttämään tuloksia esimerkiksi yrityskauppatilanteessa. Pk-yritykselle käytettyjä arvonmääritysmenetelmiä voidaan käyttää muiden vastaavanlaisten yritysten arvon määrittämiseen. Kyseiset menetelmät tarjoavat myös lähtökohdat mikroyritysten arvonmääritykselle. Pienet yritykset kiinnostavat pääomasijoittajia ja ne ovat potentiaalisia yrityskaupan kohteita, minkä vuoksi arvonmäärityssovelluksia tulisi jalostaa mikroyrityksille sopiviksi. Tutkittavan yrityksen pyynnöstä tämä tutkimus on kirjoitettu siten, ettei yritykseen liittyviä nimiä tai henkilöitä mainita.

Tutkimuksen aihe ja tavoite: Tutkimuksen päämäärä on testata Vasileiou, Rowley ja Hartleyn (2012) sähkökirjakokoelmahallinnan mallin soveltuvuutta sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman evaluointiin. Mallin soveltuvuutta tarkastellaan soveltamalla sen osa-alueita Oulun yliopiston kirjaston sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman evaluointiin. Tutkimusmenetelmät ja -aineistot: Tutkimus on tapaustutkimus Oulun yliopiston kirjaston sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman hallinnasta ja tilasta. Tutkimuksessa on käytetty menetelmä- ja aineistotriangulaatiota. Kvalitatiivisista menetelmistä on käytetty sisällönanalyysia haastattelu-, dokumentti-, ja tilastoaineiston analysointiin. Kvantitatiivisista menetelmistä on käytetty tilastomenetelmää ja käyttötutkimusta kirjaston sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman luetteloaineiston ja saatavilla olevien jakelijoiden käyttötilastojen analysointiin. Keskeiset tutkimustulokset: Sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman tilastollinen tarkastelu osoitti, että kokoelma on painottunut englanninkielisiin, alle 15 vuotta vanhoihin, aine- ja syventäviin opintoihin kuuluviin nimekkeisiin sekä perinteisesti monografiapainotteisille aloille. Sähköisten kurssikirjojen käyttö kohdistuu humanistisiin ja kasvatustieteellisiin aloihin ja opintojen loppupäähän kuuluviin uudempiin englanninkielisiin nimekkeisiin. Tulokset tukevat aiempien tutkimusten tuloksia. Johtopäätökset, toimenpidesuositukset ja jatkotutkimusehdotukset: Tutkimuksen tulosten perusteella Vasileiou, Rowley ja Hartleyn (2012) sähkökirjakokoelmahallinnanmallia voidaan soveltaa evaluointiin. Mallin avulla voidaan saada kattava kuva kirjaston sähköisen kurssikirjakokoelman hallinnasta. Toimenpidesuositukseni koskevat sähköisten kurssikirjojen markkinoinnin lisäämistä ja ostojen kohdentamista tasaista käyttöä saaviin ja paljon opiskelijoita sisältäviin luonnontieteellisiin ja teknillisiin aloihin. Jatkotutkimukseksi ehdotan Oulun yliopiston kirjaston pidempiaikaista tai vertailevaa useiden yliopistokirjastojen sähköisten kokoelmien evaluointia.
