Full textRural tourism has been rapidly developing in recent years as tourists, whether internal or external, seek places of rest and escape from cities and daily stress. They find their holiday destination villages where they can enjoy rest, fresh air, good healthy food as well as an easily accessible sport: hiking. To ensure a good stay for tourists, we took on the issue of accommodations in guesthouses. This activity is recent but the work is still unplanned. The tourism ministry is aware of this problem. We were committed to studying this hosting activity in order to present solutions that can develop the work of guesthouses and subsequently the development of rural tourism. An inquiry was made with forty-four guesthouses spread over the Lebanese territory. We raised their problems and treated it with a thorough study of geographical, organizational and institutional proximity. The processing of the data collected by the interviews using the SPSS software allowed us to test both hypotheses. H1: the proximity can answer the problems of organization and performance of the houses of hostsH2: The touristification of local resources in rural villages contributes to the development of the guesthouse sector and subsequently territorial development. We conclude from our research that the two extremes of proximity constitute a handicap that can slow activity in guesthouses. In addition, independent guesthouses relatively work in an unsystematic way and subsequently the service produced does not meet the qualities requested by tourists. Finally, an intermediate situation of proximity will be able to improve the work in the guesthouses.Recommendations in terms of regional planning have been identified and which aim to ensure better working track for guesthouses. Keywords:Guesthouses, Proximity, Territorial development, Planning, Tourism

Full textThe main subject of this thesis concerns the development of rural tourism in Thailand in the light of French experience. The potential for knowledge transfer in the field of tourism management is analyzed between Thai tourist communities (internal transfer) as well as between Thai and French resorts (external transfer). It is seen that rural tourism management in Thailand is based on "team work" at local level following two main models of "centralized" and "decentralized" management. The examples of two Thai villages were taken as case studies: Plai Pong Pang in Samut Songkhram province of central Thailand, and Koh Yao Noi in Phang-Nga province in the south of the country. Main obstacles to internal transfers are postulated as resulting from differences in social conditions (history, culture, religion, lifestyle, etc. ) as well as from the influences of stakeholders such as the State and NGOs who contribute their own, different management styles. The complexity of external transfers is argued as being due to the contextual contrasts between the two countries in terms of rurality and tourism policies
