Abstract:
Purpose Deeni Madaris of Pakistan and their libraries are playing an important role in educating the large fraction of society. They have always been engaged in the development of social and cultural values of the Pakistani society. This study aims to investigate the organization of information resources and their utilization at Deeni Madaris libraries in the central Punjab, Pakistan. Design/methodology/approach Quantitative research approach was adopted for this study. A questionnaire was developed on the bases of related literature and discussions with experts of librarianship as well as Islamic studies in Pakistan. The questionnaire was sent to 49 Deeni Madaris, of which five did not have libraries and four did not respond. Forty (81.6 per cent) Deeni Madaris responded and provided the relevant data about their libraries. The collected data were analyzed through SPSS 22. Mostly descriptive statistics were applied to calculate the frequencies, percentage, means and standard deviations. A two-tailed t-test was applied to check the impact of cataloguing and automation on the use of information resources. Findings It was found that majority of the respondents developed their own classification and cataloguing methods for the organization of information resources and did not have a proper retrieval system. Majority of the respondents were providing lending services to readers. Teachers and final-year students were the key users of the libraries. They mostly referred to books, theses and serials written in Urdu and Arabic language. The situation of library computerization was very weak; only 19 libraries had computers and 11 of them have partially automated the library activities. Library automation and catalogue put positive effects on the use of library resources. Originality/value The exploration of the literature showed that libraries of Madaris in Pakistan have always been a priority, but these libraries did not get a position in the library literature as they deserve. This study will fill this gap.

Abstract:
The book "Madarij al-Duruus al-'Arabiyah" compiled by KH Basori Alwi, Head of Pesantren Ilmu al-Qur'an (PIQ) Singosari Malang is one of the most popular textbooks in Indonesia, especially in the seventies to the nineties. Analysis of the book written by the archipelago is very necessary to know the characteristics of textbooks based on local wisdom. The results of this study: from the content aspect, the entire core component of the textbook content has been fulfilled by this book. There is a preface in each volume as a proof of validation of the contents of the book. All validators gave a positive appreciation of the publication of the book "Madarij al-Duruus al-'Arabiyah". The main purpose of this book is the mastery of reading skills (qiraah), talking (muhadatsah), and writing (insya '). Only skill to hear is not visible in the teaching materials. But, hearing skills have been represented in the Qur'an-Tajwid lesson. From the aspect of the foundation of the preparation of teaching materials, the book "Madarij al-Duruus al-'Arabiyah" meets 3 (three) principles of textbook development, namely: (1) socio-cultural; (2) psychological; (3) language-education. From the method aspect, this book uses an eclectic method that combines various strategies. However, the prioritized method is the method of reading (qiraah), the grammar method and the translation method (qawaid wa tarjamah). These three methods include traditional methods because they still rely on the role of teacher (teacher centris). According to the authors of this book, the position of the teacher remains important for beginner students studying Arabic. What's more, there is the phrase: “Methods are more important than teaching materials. However, professional teachers are far more important than teaching methods and materials”.

This research focuses on several aims, first whether Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through Role Play and Task Based Instruction best implemented in English learning process in STIE Madani Balikpapan.Second it aims to prove whether Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) can improve students’ English skill based on TOEFL score. Third, it aims to find out students’ perception about the implementation of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in English learning process in STIE Madani Balikpapan. It is a combination of quantitative and qualitative research in which survey, experiment, and interview are done related to the aims of the research. The sample is 37 students from two classes that took English Practice/TOEFL subject in academic year of 2019-2020. The result stated that Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is best implemented through role play and task based instruction.CLT helps students to better achieve their TOEFL score since there is an increase between the pretest and the post-test. Through the use of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach in class, students feel they have interest more in learning English, do not feel afraid in making mistake again because they know they are still learning, and it helps them better in communication. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is a better promising way of learning English since in which students are practicing English as if they are using it in real situation.Further suggestion is that to make use of this approach in classroom activities and encourages students to actively participate in each activities, whether in classroom or outside the classroom.

Seeing from the process of imperative constructions of the SL, it can obviously be stated that it is formed by syntactical process, whereas in TL it is formed by morphological process that is by attaching the marker. The result also shows that there are four types of translation procedure used in this study. All of them are oriented towards the target language. Those procedures are: borrowing, modulation, transposition, and literal translation.

Abstract:
At the beginning of the VII century in the political life of the Near and Middle East, fundamental changes have taken place. The Arabs conquered a colossal territory, which included the lands of Iran, North Africa, North-West India, the Asian provinces of Byzantium, most of the former Roman Empire. In the conquered cities of the caliphate, observatories, madaris, libraries were built. At the end of VII century, the first scientific center, an academy, the House of Wisdom, was founded in Baghdad, in which scholars who spoke different languages were assembled. Here the translation and commentary activity were very developed, the main works of ancient thought, such as the writings of Aristotle, Ptolemy were published in the 9th century in the Arabic-speaking world. For two centuries from 750 to 950 years, the works of ancient authors on philosophy, mathematics, medicine, alchemy, and astronomy were translated into Arabic, which indicates the high scientific potential of that time in the East. At the same time, in the XII century, Ibn Rushd composed 38 commentaries on the works of Aristotle, the “Republic” of Plato, the treatise “On the Mind” of Alexander of Aphrodisias, which subsequently had an important influence on the work of Nasir al-Din al-Tusi. Thus, this period in the history of Eastern scientific thought is marked by high intellectual potential. To this day, historians of medieval Arabic literature face a sufficient number of difficulties, since the vast majority of manuscripts remain inaccessible to them. The works of many renowned Arab authors of the middle Ages are more than 1000 years old, so it seems obvious that the manuscripts of the vast majority of authors have not survived to this day. The researchers of the history of Azerbaijan and neighboring countries in the middle Ages, with all the variety of available sources on which they rely, still attract little factual material related to the Arabic-language works of the historical and scientific genre. Undoubtedly, a comprehensive study of the entire complex of information of Nasir al-Din al-Tusi on the history of science in Azerbaijan is of great importance.

Abstract:
Abstract Kuntilanak is an icon of pop culture well known in several nations in Southeast Asia. While the female vampire is the subject of horror films and novels, people in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, claim that the city was founded by evicting Kuntilanak, who inhabited the confluence of the Kapuas and Landak rivers before the city was built. This article examines narratives on Kuntilanak, comparing it with other spirit perceptions found among Dayak in West Kalimantan. It suggests that the horror of that terrifying ghost is the price people had to pay for conceptualizing nature in accordance with Islamic Malay modernity. Referring to Critical Theory approaches, it is argued that the hostility and horror of Kuntilanak are expressions of a specific mode of enlightenment in the widest sense of the term, that is, an effort to conceptualize nature in order to rule over it. Nature thus emerges in opposition to the civilized, Muslim societies (masyarakat madani) of Malay coastal towns.

The method used is by using the Research and Development (R & D) method with a qualitative approach and the ADDIE model. The results of the study show that the nature of caring can be developed through learning strategies outlined through learning implementation plans (RPP). This is evidenced by the authors making observations, interviews and field notes and merging learning activities at SDIT Permata Madani by recording each incident, which in the end through design development of the nature of student care can increase awareness of the environment, teachers, peers, things and school in general.

Abstract:
AbstractThe issue of incorporation of Islamic provisions in the constitutional, legal, economic, socio-political order as well as policy structures of the Government of Pakistan emerged on the policy agenda in the last years of Pakistan movement and immediately after independence. This issue, commonly known as ‘Islamization’, however, remained a hotly debated topic. Undoubtedly, Islam, as a way of life and the embodiment of universal human values of social justice, tolerance, and equity was the most motivating and inspiring factor in the struggle for creation of Pakistan. It was believed that the enormity of the task of re-construction of Islamic thought notwithstanding, it would not be beyond the resources of Pakistan to convert itself into model Islamic welfare state, where all citizens, irrespective of their caste, colour, language or creed, would live in an atmosphere of tolerance and harmony. It was unfortunate that Pakistan, despite the lapse of 67 years, could not promote an enlightened and tolerant society. The policy debate in connection with the issue of Islamization should, therefore, be directed towards the promotion of a society which should be more tolerant, just, equitable and prosperous. It would, in turn, require the evolution of a balanced and uniform system of education, in which the existing religious stream of education i.e. ‘Madaris’ should also be integrated. The paper in hand aims at analyzing the dynamics of Islamization, as a policy perspective, with a view to identifying the direction of policy debate that should take place in the policy-making institutions about this issue. Keywords: Islamization, Mainstreaming, Tolerant-society, Weltanschauung, Justice, Equity.******************** AbstrakIsu perintah pemerbadanan peruntukan Islam di perlembagaan, perundangan, ekonomi, sosio-politik dan struktur polisi Kerajaan Pakistan muncul dalam agenda polisi pada tahun-tahun terakhir pergerakan Pakistan dan sejurus selepas kemerdekaan mereka.

Abstract:
In this introduction to the large, unwieldy, and complex topic of Islamic historiography, the author has limited himself to historical works written inArabic, primarily in the central Islamic lands, before 1500. This choice canbe justified in that the field’s formative works written early on in Iraq, Iran,Egypt, and Syria and all in Arabic, served as models for historians writinglater on in peripheral regions and in other languages. Nevertheless, it is a bowto convenience and necessity, given the vast amount of material involved. Asa result, the Arabic historiography of North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, andother peripheral regions are largely ignored, as are the Turkish histories of theOttoman Empire and the Persian histories of Iran, Central Asia, and India.Within these admitted and understandable limitations, the book provides anexcellent thematic overview, while, at the same time, introducing the readerto some of the Islamic world’s most fascinating histories and historians. This book is divided into three parts, including ten chapters and aconclusion. A glossary, five plates of manuscript folios, three maps, twochronologies of prominent historians, and suggestions for further readingcontribute to making this a useful and accessible text.In part 1, chapters 1-4, Robinson presents a tripartite typology of historicalworks: chronography, biography, and prosopography. These are idealtypes, which serve as broad categories within which to classify a huge bodyof texts. Chronography refers to annals, works organized into year-by-yearsections; biography refers to texts that treat the lives of famous or exemplaryindividuals; and prosopography refers primarily to biographical dictionaries, works in which biographical notices are devoted to large numbers of individualswho all belonged to a particular scholarly or professional group. Allof these types of historical works, Robinson writes, had emerged by theninth century and were consolidated by the early tenth century. The end ofthis formative period was characterized by large synthetic works, such asAbu Ja`far al-Tabari’s History of Messengers and Kings. In part because ofsuch works, many earlier historical monographs, including the works ofsuch historians as Abu Mikhnaf and al-Mada’ini, were abandoned by the traditionas unnecessary ...

Abstract:
The article analyzes anti-religious propaganda in the early 1920s in the Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on the example of the magazine Erdem ba Shazhan [Science and Religion]. An important component of the state policy in the antireligious struggle in the republic was the Regional Union of Atheists, created in Verkhneudinsk on December 2, 1926. The publication of Erdem ba Shazhan in the Mongolian script was aimed at covering the gap of specialized literature on anti-religious propaganda. While analyzing issues of the magazine stored in the Center of Oriental Manuscripts and Xylographs of the Institute for Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, research methods of historical science were used. The source study method has revealed the significance of the magazine as a source for studying atheistic propaganda and introducing a new socialist ideology in Buryat society. Erdem ba Shazhan was a methodological guide for a wide network of circles of the League of Militant Atheists. The magazine described the anti-religious events held in the republic, discredited false religious postulates, and propagandized the new Soviet style of life. For instance, the magazine published scientific disputes with lamas about the essence of religion. The analysis of the contents of Erdem ba Shazhan shows that educational issues were aimed at the broad promotion of the new life and eradication of religious remnants occupied more than a half of its volume. The magazine had no thematic sections, but it is possible to identify several main headings: propaganda and educational materials, popular scientific articles, short news, literary life. The “short news” part presented items on the activities of not only the Union of Atheists, but also of the first scientific organization—Buruchkom. The history of overcoming religiousness and inculcating the new ideology found reflection in the works of fiction the magazine published. Young writers, scientists, and educators (Kh. Namsaraev, Ts. Don, D. Madason) collaborated with Erdem ba Shazhan. The magazine also contained visual materials: photos, drawings, caricatures. It is worth noting the original design of the magazine cover made by Ts. Sampilov. Along with other publications in the Mongolian script, Erdem ba Shazhan promoted the development of atheistic education. The magazine illustrated the most diverse aspects of the life of the Buryat population with an emphasis on the scientific nature of events. Thus, the publication of the magazine Erdem ba Shazhan had a significant impact on the development of the atheistic movement in the republic, along with more accessible forms of printed propaganda in the form of posters and other visual means, such as cinema and theater. In general, this magazine compensated for the lack of specialized literature in the Buryat language, being the only methodological guide for a network of atheist cells in rural areas.

Abstract:
The challenge for rural communities to provide quality education for early childhood in Indonesia is difficult. National politics, policies, and economic and cultural conditions affect the Early Childhood Education system, and Indonesia is a large multicultural country, so, even the quality of education is difficult. This study aims to look at the quality of children's education in Pandalungan. Using qualitative methods with ethnographic design, data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that educational institutions for children in urban areas can be categorized quite high. However, for early childhood education services in Desa Sukorambi Pandalungan, the quality is quite poor. Research suggestions are the need for follow-up related to social, economic, cultural and environmental factors at the level of Pandalungan community awareness of early childhood education. Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between learning-style and task-based teaching andlearning and students’ academic achievement in standard-based tests in English. The data were collected from twopublic secondary schools in the emirate of Fujairah, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A sample of purposefullyselected 54 Grade 10 students from both schools was surveyed with a VAK questionnaire. SPSS was used tocompare the mean of the two standard-based tests. The results show that there is a relationship between a learningstyle-based, task-based learning (TBL) model and Madaras Al Ghad (Arabic translation for Schools of Future: MAG)learners’ achievement in standard-based language tests. The theoretical implications of the findings are discussedin this paper, together with recommendations pertaining to the significance of considering students’ learning stylesand task-based learning in the educational process. The significance of the present study rests on the fact that thelinks between learning-style and TBL model and students’ academic achievement have been examined for the firsttime in public secondary schools in the UAE and the Arabic context. The findings of this study will be of interest toeducators, policymakers as well as researchers.
