Abstract:
Metals and Metals-alloys play a significant role in the everyday life of researchers and also in industrial applications to develop a new framework product. New development of tool and techniques help researchers to do their work smoothly. Multi-purpose machines mainly help researchers to do framework design and research as per need and it will save both cost and time. In this paper, the main aim is to develop a machine-stand that performs machine operations in a single column (either side of the column). The operations are cutting, grinding, and drilling. The purpose of the machine is to support researchers in their research work, with high precision to drill without any (human error) vibrations and to cut the work-samples without edges loses. The machine is designed for portable purposes, that can be used in laboratory, field, workshop, and workplace, etc. to do operations of cutting and drilling in various places. The same machine is used for multi-operation, instead of using separate fixed flame machines such as cutting, grinding, and drilling machines. The machine operates through power sources with liquid coolant lubricant and the operations performed simultaneously or individually

Abstract:
The cogging machine is a new design of a machine with permanent magnets, which combines the advantages of a machine with transverse flux (TFM), eliminating its disadvantages. The biggest advantage of TFM machines is their high torque density, which varies with the design parameters. The developed machine retains these advantages while simplifying the construction of the stator core, which is the biggest disadvantage of TFM machines. This article presents the results of an analysis of the power density of the developed cogging machine as a function of a number of pole pairs and the basic design parameters. Analyses were carried out on the basis of the derived analytical equations, which make the generated torque depend on the construction parameters. Thanks to the derived dependencies, one can easily examine the effects of modifying the machine structure. The results presented in the article prove that the developed design of the cogging machine is competitive in relation to machines with permanent magnets existing on the market.

Abstract:
The production of sago starch in Papua is around 200 thousand tons per year, even though the potential is 4.75 tons of dry starch per year. The large potential for sago starch production cannot be realized optimally due to the low production capacity. The production capacity is doubtful because the sago processing process is still carried out traditionally. The problems encountered can be solved by applying machining technology to the sago production process. The application of technology in the form of production machines will improve the quality of sago starch and production capacity. The production capacity of sago starch can be increased through the application of technology in the production process. Especially the sago pith grating machine technology and sago starch extraction machine technology, because these two processes consume the most time when using traditional methods. The working principle of the sago starch extraction machine that has been made is that the rotation generated by the driving motor is channeled through the pulley transmission and the V-belt drives the gearbox, the rotation of the gearbox output shaft through the pulley transmission and the V-belt drives the stirring shaft. The production capacity of the sago extraction machine is planned to be 80 kg/hour. The design of the sago extraction machine uses wheels to facilitate the mobilization of the machine to the sago plantation area.

India is an agricultural nation with the majority of its population residing in rural areas. The rural landscape is predominantly occupied by agricultural activities, including crop production and poultry farming by using of chaff cutter machines. The conventional cutter machines are unsafe design resulted in severe injuries and needed more workforces. Taking into consideration the limitations of the current conventional cutter machine, this project has been undertaken to develop and manufacture a chaff cutter machine, aiming to mitigate the potential for serious injuries and enhance operational efficiency. First of all, the work of design of the chaff cutter machine will be developed and analyzed. The new chaff cutter machine will be tried out for cutting various types of animal feed like dry straw, grass, corn straw, wheat stalk, etc. We'll also check how cost-effective the new machines are compared to the old-style ones and newer models. This paper talks about how we made and tested a chaff cutter machine in India. We'll also look at how much it costs to use the new chaff cutting machine compared to the old ones.

Abstract:
This paper describes a method for layout design of a Cellular Manufacturing System (CMS) that would allow simultaneously, the grouping of machines unique to a part family into cells and those shared by several cells to be located together in functional sections. Using an illustrative example, this integration of the flexibility of a functional layout, the reduced handling gained from cell formation and allowance of limited intercell flows among adjacent cells is described. Thereby, the traditional strategy of simultaneous formation of part families and distribution of machines into independent cells which creates machine distribution and unbalanced utilization problems is avoided. This is justified by an analysis of the complex interactions between the critical subproblems in cell formation—machine grouping, part family formation, distribution and utilization of shared machines, intracell layout, intercell (or shop) layout and material handling. This approach represents a new direction in cell formation where, by allowing the handling function to limit the extent of machine duplication between adjacent cells, a new graph theoretic structure for simultaneous machine grouping and layout design was developed and validated.

Abstract:
Numerical controlled high speed micromachining on desktop machines is known to induce inherently new types of errors and machining issues at micro scale. The sources of these errors are either not known, or difficult to be modeled. Some of these errors are due to the downscaling effect of machine elements to a small micro-machine. This paper attempts to explore key issues proper to micro machines that are different from standard scale NC machine tools. Experimental observations are shown to support the discussion. The knowledge gained from these phenomena is used to nurture the design methodologies of micro-scale machines, to plan a suitable tool path and hence to improve the micromachining quality. This will also ascertain the statement that direct downscaling of current machine tools is worthless.

Abstract:
Precision machines are necessary to manufacture parts and subassemblies that require tight tolerances. During the design of precision machines, like any design, it is critical that the best concept is chosen in the early stages of the design process because 80% of the final cost and quality of a product are designed in at this phase. In addition, changes and optimization late in the design process have limited impact on cost and quality. Typically, during the design of precision machines, engineers and skilled machinists develop several machine concepts and down select based on heuristics and past design experience rather than quantitative measures. This paper describes a computation tool, Precision Machine Design Assistant (PMDA), which automates basic machine error simulation and concept evaluation. The tool uses a combination of machine error motion modelling and constraint-based design methods. By combining these methods in a computational environment, multiple machine concepts may be rapidly modeled, analyzed, and compared. The goal of the program is to assist the designer in the selection of a superior concept for detail design. The PMDA methods and implementation are demonstrated in an example.

This study was aimed at finding appropriate levels of machine set up for small-sized rice milling machine in order to improve rice milling effectiveness. Small rice milling machines are used by farmers to reduce the reliance on commercial rice mill. However, they are found to produce greater quantities of broken rice grains than large-sized rice milling machine. This study investigated three factors of machine setup that would lead to smallest percentage of broken rice grains, i.e. size of hopper feed, gap adjuster, and outlet regulator. Each factor had three levels thus 3 x 3 factorial design was used to investigate the factors. It was found that all the three factors had significant impact on the number of broken grains. The optimum parameter settings that led to the smallest percentage of broken rice grains were as follows: size of hopper feed at 12 cm2, gap adjuster at 5 mm, and outlet regulator at 5 cm.

Abstract:
The demand for poultry products is seen increasing from year to year. This is a good thing for local chicken entrepreneurs. But the task of plucking chicken feathers is time-consuming and tiring. The production of machines to help simplify the process of removing chicken feathers is seen as a necessity for these small and medium industrial entrepreneurs. This is why we focus on producing chicken feather retractor machines (CFRM) that are capable of processing up to five chickens at once. This machine is portable and easy to move around and supported by four wheels that can be locked to ensure stability. This machine can perform effectively to remove feathers using friction concept between the chicken and the plucker fingers rubber which attached around the drum. The machine also environmentally friendly by filtering the feather from scattered everywhere and only allow water to come out. The result shows that this machine operates under the motor powered with 115.13 rpm with the rotating plate area is 0.166 m2 and drum volume of 0.158 m3. This machine managed to remove the feathers of up to five chickens within 30 seconds to 60 seconds

Abstract:
Product development is a combination of technological trends that play a role in creating innovative works. Conceptual design is the initial phase of developing innovative product configurations. The processing of coconut sap into traditional palm sugar has constraints; the production process takes 4 to 6 hours and has a moisture content above 3%. The research objective was to obtain a machine design to increase production volume and reduce the water content in palm sugar. The machine design process begins with conducting interviews with 20 palm sugar craftsmen with approximately 5 years of experience to obtain information on priority needs. The VOC (Voice Of Customer) method can be used to determine priority designs and specifications. The results of the VOC process are (1) machine components made of food-grade materials, (2) production machines that are easy to operate and easy to maintain, (3) production machines with operational costs and affordable prices among MSMEs. The design development process has two alternative machines made using the Solidworks software. The results of the assessment of 30 SMEs’ palm sugar selected alternative two machine designs with dimensions of 70 x 60 x 155 cm. The advantage of the second engine design alternative is that it has a temperature sensor to adjust the gas valve and a pan with an insulator so that it can maintain temperature stability. The design of the palm sugar machine still requires innovation and development to increase production and quality.

Abstract:
Abstract For precise job manufacturing, system should possess good dimensional accuracy and surface finish. In applications like drilling, punching, marking, boring, tapping work piece is positioned firstly and then cutting tool performs its action while motion axes are kept stationary. In traditional approach for such applications, manufacturer uses highly expensive CNC machine for programming job cycle and executing the same. Big scale manufacturer can afford such highly expensive machines but for small scale mechanical job manufacturing industry we have to think of low-cost solution that can deliver high class output. In this project we are trying to propose low-cost design which gives similar functionality as that of high-cost CNC machine. By applying this machine in industry, it can acquire the multi generation brief time. In order to perform some operation which requires continuous cutting over a pre-defined curve, CNC machines are used as the traditional machines in the industry. Installation of a CNC machine requires a high financial investment and a skilled labour to perform the different operations on the machine. Apart from that the maintenance cost of such machine are also high. In small scale industries where the operations are performed on small job pieces, the installation of such high-cost CNC machine is very difficult; hence this project work is taken up in which a low-cost CNC laser cutting machine is designed using the Arduino. This CNC laser cutting machine will be quite useful for small scale industries where the job size is not very large. Also, the machine does not require a highly skilled labour to perform operations.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a design methodology for self-maintenance machines. The self-maintenance machine is a machine that can maintain its functions for a while, even though faults happen. In order to achieve capabilities for diagnosing and repair planning, a model based approach that employs qualitative physics is proposed. Regarding repair execution, two types of repair strategies are proposed; viz., control type and functional redundancy type which is a strategy to add redundancy to a machine from a viewpoint of function. A prototype of the self-maintenance machine is developed. Because this machine uses the control type of repair strategy, it succeeded to maintain its functions as far as its structure does not change. A promising candidate for dealing with faults that involve structural changes is the functional redundancy type of repair.

Abstract:
A mop is a very simple tool, but it is very much needed in society, especially to help with household work. In this final project the author tries to make a thread roller to process the manufacture of mops. The basic material for making mops is 0.85 cotton yarn and the waste material is clothing waste. The design of a tool with results that can support the need for the manufacture of basic materials in the production of mops, which is expected to be useful for the textile industry, which can meet market needs and can be used as a home industry so that it can improve people's living standards. In the design of the Yarn Winding Machine above, it can be produced: the diameter of the driving pulley is 100 mm and the diameter of the pulli being driven is 100 mm. The ratio of the pulli on the drive shaft to the pulli being driven is 1: 1, the main shaft of 19 mm can deliver 144 watts of power. These machines have a transmission system driven by an electric motor HP/1400 rpm/1 phase by using a large pulley of 210 mm with a small pully diameter of 45 mm. Belts used with L = 813 mm with a total of 2 pieces can connect a power of 144 watts.

Abstract:
Welded structure is usually used in current nailing machines. When a nailing machine was used for a period of time, the base of the machine was deformed, so products produced with the machines become waste. The reason for these problems is that the design of window shape around the body column plate is unreasonable, so the plate often cracks. In addition, the hydraulic system in current nailing machines is unreasonable too, which makes production less efficient. Aiming the current problems of the nailing machine, finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to analysis and find the machine’s stress concentration areas. According to the analysis results, the shape and size of these areas are re-designed, which has the minimum area stress and deformation. The welded machine body is changed into a casted one, and the other modules are also re-build, all of which make the machine has longer service life. Through the process analysis, the hydraulic system is re-designed too, which improves the equipment productivity greatly.
