Full textIl mio lavoro verte sui dibattiti sulla scientificità della teologia tra XIII e XIV secolo, a partire dall’originale dottrina del lumen medium del maestro secolare Enrico di Gand. La tesi è divisa in due parti, precedute da una breve Introduzione di carattere storico e storiografico sul problematico riconoscimento del carattere scientifico della teologia da Alessandro di Hales a Tommaso d’Aquino. Nella Parte Prima viene presa in esame la dottrina enrichiana del lumen medium, a partire dai suoi presupposti gnoseologici (la dottrina dell’illuminazione divina sul piano della conoscenza naturale, il desiderio naturale di conoscere le verità sovrannaturali e il valore dello studio) mettendo in luce, da un lato, la fondazione della teologia come scientia prima e, dall’altra, lo status speciale del teologo, sia attraverso la lettura degli articoli della Summa quaestionum ordinariarum che di alcune questioni quodlibetali. Nella Parte Seconda viene descritta la controversa fortuna del lumen speciale, tra XIII e XIV secolo, in ambiente domenicano (Giovanni Quidort di Parigi, Giacomo di Metz, Erveo di Nédellec, Durando di San Porziano), francescano (Giovanni Duns Scoto, Pietro Aureoli) e carmelitano (Gerardo di Bologna), con l’obiettivo di offrire un contributo parziale alla ricostruzione del sistema delle alleanze e delle opposizioni tra i maestri, almeno in riferimento alla dottrina enrichiana. UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI DI SALERNO DIPARTIMENTO DI LATINITA’ E MEDIOEVO DOTTORATO DI RICERCA IN FILOSOFIA, SCIENZE E CULTURA DELL’ETÀ TARDOANTICA, MEDIEVALE E UMANISTICA 2 Dal lavoro svolto, infatti, emerge che la figura di Enrico possa essere considerata come un punto di riferimento per gli autori del XIII e del XIV secolo, non solo in negativo ma anche in positivo, visto che la sua originale soluzione del problema della scientificità della teologia viene anche in un certo senso “salvata”, ad esempio da Scoto e Aureoli, e la costruzione enrichiana della scienza teologica elaborata nella Summa costituisce un vero e proprio modello nel caso di quella di Gerardo.
