Broughton, L. M. "The geochemistry of Westmin Resources Ltd." Thesis, University of British Columbia, 1991. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/29918.

Full text
Abstract:
Westmin Resources Ltd. operate a 3000 tpd copper-lead-zinc mine 93 km by highway south-southwest of Campbell River in Strathcona Provincial Park. The mine began operations in 1966. Tailings were initially discharged directly to the bottom of Buttle Lake; a practice which continued until an on-land tailings disposal facility was commissioned in June 1984. Testwork has indicated significant acid production potential in the sulphide tailings. Tailings are now deposited by the "subaerial" method; a procedure designed to produce an unsaturated, high density tailings mass with low horizontal and very low vertical permeability. This is a relatively new technique in Western Canada and the Myra Falls facility provided an ideal opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of subaerial deposition to limit acid generation and contaminant migration. A number of surveys have been conducted by Environment Canada and Knight and Piesold Ltd. to evaluate the geochemical and geotechnical characteristics of the tailings mass over the deposition history. This report describes a detailed study conducted by Environment Canada and L.M. Broughton in 1989, with reference to the previous study (Broughton and Ferguson, 1989) to evaluate changes over time. The field sampling component of this study included surface solids sampling of fresh and older tailings, deposited over a seven month time period. Surface water samples were collected. Depth profiles through the newer and old tailings layers in the tailings impoundment and an emergency storage pond were established of the geotechnical and geochemical characteristics through solid sampling over depth, pore water sampling, and laboratory testing including paste analyses, shake flask extraction tests. Sulphide oxidation was occurring at the surface and over depth in the tailings. Contaminant fronts over the vertical profile of the tailings mass were identified, and the rate of infiltration estimated. Elevated zinc, acidity, sulphate and conductivity levels were detected at depth in the impoundment. The infiltration of alkaline tailings water from freshly placed tailings neutralized low pH fronts and precipitated metals constrained by pH (Cu and Fe) near the interface of fresh and older tailings. Oxygen and carbon dioxide profiles were developed to determine oxidation rates, oxygen consumption and the ingress of oxygen to the depth in the tailings. Geotechnical characteristics of the tailings mass within the layers sampled were similar to measurements at a conventional saturated tailings impoundment. The placement of a fresh tailings layer did not appear to significantly change the rate of oxidation or contaminant migration through the tailings. Layers of fine silt with high moisture content limited the vertical diffusion of oxygen into the tailings, and the rate of oxidation. Due to operational constraints, there were long periods between tailings deposition which allowed drying and cracking of the subaerial tailings mass, and development of surface oxidation and low pH fronts which have penetrated to depth in the tailings. Vertical cracking of the tailings allowed the ingress of the oxygen to more permeable underlying sand layers promoting oxidation at depth in the tailings. Relatively simple field and laboratory techniques were developed and applied to evaluate the characteristics and performance of the subaerial tailings mass. Such evaluations should be conducted to determine the nature of the tailings during operation, and for design of alternative closure schemes, but must be carefully designed to recover the essential data within a reasonable time frame and scope of laboratory and field work. The results of investigations of the geochemical nature of the Myra Falls tailings impoundment indicate that acid generation, metal leaching, and contaminant migration are established in the subaerial tailings mass. Closure and reclamation strategies must address limiting the rate and extent of acid generation, and address containment of the contaminated drainage water within the impoundment. All acidic drainage from the Westmin site is collected and treated in a lime neutralization circuit and series of settling ponds, and is sampled and analyzed prior to discharge.

Abstract:
CAVALTECH is an equestrian automation company, owned by the student, which aims to automate the horseshoeing process. Horseshoeing is the art of attaching material to a horses hoof in order to protect it from wear and tear that it would not be subjected to in the wild. Horseshoeing is very expensive, hard-work and inconsistent. This project is about developing technology to assist in improving the horseshoeing process. The report summarises the planning processes involved in the project, reports the results and then makes comparisons between the two. The project is testament to the need for adaptive planning when undertaking novel projects as well as the need to be efficient and effective with the time available.

No entanto, existem riscos potenciais significativos.
The Residential Housing Market in China has more than 30 years of development history. Vanke, as the largest residential developer in China, shows the epitome of development of all Chinese real estate companies in the economic downturn and the changing world pattern, which is also the reason why I choose it for Master Final Work equity research. This report adopts the research report format recommended by the CFA Institute. It analyzes finance and management of Vanke in the past four years and forecasts the operations for the next five years. Generally, Vanke's operational development is stable. Persisting in high asset turnover strategy, it has about 20% ROE on the period analyzed. Besides developing the real estate market, during the last years, Vanke entered in new segments of the real estate market such as real estate services and rental housing. April 24, 2019 is the current date valuation and 2020YE is the target time for price forecast. The valuation uses DCF as the main method, and Relative valuation as auxiliary method. As a result, the target price is RMB 43.97. Compared with current price, presents an upside potential of 48.54%. However, there are significant potential risks. The GDP growth rate deceleration and population are two macroeconomic risks which have long-term and profound impacts. Also, real estate tax legislation and further real estate restrictions are the two most substantial political risks. Finally, the recommendation for Vanke is BUY with medium risk.

Abstract:
The following work consists of an Equity Research of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. for the year ending 2020F, the assumptions adopted for the forecast of the next five years (2020F-2024F) were based on the historical performance of the past four years (2016-2019). This work was written in accordance with the recommendations of the CFA Institute. I choose to evaluate Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. on the back of the magnitude and global presences of the brand through its products and services across several industries and sectors where it operates. In addition, my personal empathy with the brand that I have always use since my youth have also motivated and helped me taking this decision. This work was written contemplating public information available until November 3rd, 2020, hence, any information or event after this date has not been considered. The main method used for the valuation was the Discounted Cash Flow method, in which the result set the price target of €8361; 68 624. Relative methods were also used, which reinforced the BUY recommendation. Despite the current situation of global pandemic where some degree of uncertainty regarding the end of the pandemic and its effects, the starting of the 5G utilization in several countries will boost the stock value. Nonetheless, considering the current global pandemic and the target pricing, we issue a BUY recommendation with medium risk.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The business of telecommunication companies is growing rapidly worldwide. The number of customers and services offered to them are increasing accordingly. One of the challenges of this fast growing field is to provide world-class technical support for the internal information systems used by customer facing staff. Business requirements for these business critical information systems are strict and encompass data integrity, availability, performance and security. Revenue from support systems is difficult to measure and hence the financial focus on cost savings, productivity and efficiency. The current information system, used by Telkom S.A. for service activation and assurance of al non-voice services, was analysed and proposals made for all identified problem areas. Although the solutions are specific to this particular system, the concepts remain the same for any large-scale distributed information system.

This thesis examines representations of environmental activism in contemporary literature. In general terms, this thesis understands activism to be a mode of politics that seeks to transform society, counter to forces of oppression and crisis. Precisely as a transformative or counter-hegemonic mode of politics, the actions, public perceptions, and representations (literary or otherwise) of activism and social movements mark out an extreme – though rarely understood – horizon of political agency and possibility. The thesis uses and adapts Fredric Jameson’s theory of the political unconscious to explore, via literary representation, the prospects, constraints, and capacities which exist in contemporary forms of environmental activism. It begins by considering novelistic representations of climate change that display a tension between ‘fast-violent’ and gradual or historically-embedded forms of environmental change. The thesis then moves on to consider novelistic fiction that displays evidence of the intertwining of environmental crises and neoliberal governmentalities. A later chapter turns to a more specific site of resistance – food production – examining novelistic fiction that not only thematises the emergence of particular forms of resistance, but also aesthetically and formally registers agroecological theory and practice. The final chapter moves away from fictive writing and investigates the ways in which literary non-fiction presents a new kind of critical problem regarding the accuracy of its representations of activism; namely, the tensions which emerge between realist and speculative registers. To date, there has been a relative lack of attention paid to representations of activism in environmental literary and cultural criticism. A critical study of the cultural representation of environmental social movements will, I argue, yield valuable insights into how environmental problems are articulated and the forms of activism in use today, along with the contradictions, tensions – and even unintended harmonies – between environmentalism and mainstream political and economic trends.

Hosel, Katarina. "Effects of a Modified 30 Hz Intermittent Theta-Burst Stimulation (iTBS) Protocol on Corticospinal Excitability In Healthy Adults." Thesis, Université d'Ottawa / University of Ottawa, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10393/42675.

Full text
Abstract:
Theta-burst stimulation (TBS) is a form of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) developed to induce neuroplasticity. TBS usually consists of 50 Hz bursts at 5 Hz intervals. When applied intermittently, it can lead to facilitation of motor evoked potentials (MEPs), although these effects can be variable between individuals. Here, we aimed to determine whether a version of intermittent TBS (iTBS) consisting of 30 Hz bursts at 6 Hz intervals would produce less variable modulation. Nineteen healthy adults underwent single-pulse TMS to assess corticomotor excitability at baseline as reflected in MEP amplitude. 30 Hz iTBS was then administered and MEP amplitude was reassessed at 5-, 20- and 45-mins after the iTBS protocol. Compared to baseline, MEPs were significantly facilitated up to 45-min post-iTBS and most participants exhibited the expected facilitation. These observations suggest that 30 Hz/6 Hz iTBS may provide a sound alternative to induce consistent neuromodulatory effects over the commonly used 50 Hz/5 Hz protocol.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
In today’s competitive market, a well-integrated business model can play an important role for a competitive advantage. One tool to create business models is the business model canvas. This method is used by many big organizations, and among these users is Communication Ltd. They are currently working on changing their focus from product to service. This change requires some big changes in the company´s business models, revenue streams and in their value proposition. The goal of this thesis is to analyse new possible revenue streams and also investigate if these could be of use for Communication Ltd. To reach this goal this thesis uses a theoretical base along with empirical data such as interviews, secondary data and a study of revenue streams in external markets. The conclusion reached in this thesis is that going from a product focus to a service focus requires structural changes in revenue streams, but also a clear communication of the value an organization is offering their customers. Furthermore for an organization to meet future customer needs, new types of revenue streams must be implemented. One solution to this could be for an organization to offer different types of memberships where different values are bundled together deepening on what the customers’ demands.

Abstract:
Thesis (MBA)--Stellenbosch University, 2011.
This exercise aimed at developing a sustainable supply chain strategy that was adopted by Exxaro Resources (Pty) Ltd. The focus of the approach was to assess the status of Exxaro’s supply chain sustainability compared to that of competitors operating in South Africa and the supply chain dimensions applicable to Exxaro’s scope (i.e. green inventory management, green warehouse/storage management, sustainable procurement or sourcing, sustainable supplier management and sustainable transport/business travelling). The strategy framework used includes a review of supply chain sustainability relating to Exxaro and the requirements thereof, depicting gaps, recommended actions or initiatives to close the gaps, an implementation approach and a schedule. The strategy sets out to distinguish Exxaro in supply chain sustainable development through the setting of guidelines, reporting standards and commitments to economic, labour, human rights as well as social and environmental well-being. The approach envisages collaborating with suppliers and Exxaro’s sustainable development department to continuously improve and embed positive sustainability practices within Exxaro’s supply chain processes. This research report highlights the progress already made with high-level sustainable supply chain management implementation by selected Exxaro competitors, relevant schools of thought and theories with the emphasis on bringing a link to opportunities for Exxaro to progress into supply chain sustainability. The relationship between supply chain practices, environmental performance, social and economic impacts was studied. The mining sector, with its history of negative impacts on societies and the environment, is continuously challenged by the increasing emphasis to demonstrate ethical, social and environmental performance and accountability throughout its business practices. The use of Exxaro as a practical case study limits the extent to which the recommended strategy can be generalised to any mining environment or company. Findings mentioned may be subject to further research by augmenting the scope to include mines operating outside of South Africa or additional mining entities and theories. The approach of the research included empirical studies in the form of in-depth interviews and questionnaire surveys on various internal stakeholders. Some information was obtained from the annual reports of Exxaro and a selected number of South African mining companies that are mining similar products to Exxaro. The data was analysed using statistical methods for social sciences with both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.

Hurst, Katrina M. "Modulation of Synaptic Plasticity: Endocannabinoids and Novel G-protein Coupled Receptors Expression and Translational Effects in Interneurons." BYU ScholarsArchive, 2017. https://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/etd/6940.

Full text
Abstract:
Learning and memory are important processes that occur in the brain. The brain is comprised of neurons that make connections with each other known as synapses. Synaptic plasticity is widely believed to be the physiologic mechanism by which learning and memory occur. Synapses can either be strengthened through a process known as long-term potentiation (LTP) or weakened through long-term depression (LTD). The area of the brain that is most studied for its role in learning and memory is the hippocampus, which has been shown to be involved in memory consolidation. The detection of endocannabinoids and their receptors has opened a whole new field of study in regards to synaptic plasticity. Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) are among the commonly studied endocannabinoid receptors found in the central nervous system. In the brain, these receptors' natural ligands, anandamide and 2-arachidonylglycerol (2-AG), are found in abundance. Yet not all forms of observed plasticity are accounted for by just these two receptors, so studies into other G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) continues. One GPCR, GPR55 is found in many regions of the brain, as well as lysophosphatidylinositol (LPI), its specific ligand. Here we have researched the role of GPR55 in modulating synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. Using quantitative reverse transcription PCR and immunohistochemistry, we have found GPR55 to be expressed in the hippocampus with highest expression in pyramidal cells, the main excitatory neurons in the hippocampus. Using field and whole cell electrophysiology, we have investigated its effects on synaptic plasticity, discovering that activation of GPR55 by LPI significantly enhances LTP. In memory behavioral assays there are no significant differences between GPR55 KO mice and wild type littermates, indicating that it may not be involved in endogenous memory processes. However, our electrophysiology data makes GPR55 a potential target for treating memory disorders such as dementia. We have also investigated GPR18 and GPR119 for their potential roles in synaptic plasticity. First, we confirmed their expression in the hippocampus and then investigated the effects of their agonists on plasticity. Another receptor, TRPV1 has been studied to alter plasticity. However, the study of how protein translation and RNA transcription involvement in TRPV1 plasticity in mammals has not been investigated. While translation and transcription are known to be important in many forms of LTP, it is unknown whether these processes are important for TRPV1-induced LTD. We are investigating their necessity via whole cell patching and using translation and transcription inhibitors Anisomycin and Actinomycin D, both previously used in slice electrophysiology.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This document investigates the development of an e-commerce strategy for Trentyre (Pty) Ltd. After a brief overview of the history and technological foundation for the Internet, three methods of e-commerce strategy development are discussed. These three methods deal with the traditional model of strategy development, the Four Stage model as well as the ICDT model, as proposed by Angehm. The principles of the models discussed are then applied in the development of an ecommerce strategy for Trentyre (Pty) Ltd. As one of the recommendations, the development of a "Tyre Valet Service" is discussed in detail. A viability analysis of this business model is undertaken where financial aspects regarding proposed cash flow and income are analysed. The impact of business to business e-commerce on the Trentyre (Pty) Ltd business model is also discussed.

Abstract:
Recycling and remanufacturing returned goods are economically beneficial for companies since the cost of obtaining used parts is lower in many cases and selling price is close to that of a new product. This leads to decreased costs and thereby increased profits for the company. In addition, there are also great environmental benefits by keeping the structural integrity of a part; the energy used for disassembly and refurbishing is much lower than the energy required for raw material extraction and machining. Encompassing the returned goods makes the supply chain to closed loop supply chain, which is different from the traditional supply chain due to reverse logistics. A reverse flow of material is however usually more complex than a forward flow of parts and components from suppliers. This means that inventory management becomes critical and needs to be viewed from a new perspective. The purpose of the report is to study FAW Co., Ltd’s inventory situation in reverse logistics. The report analysed the inventory management in the company, specifically focusing on one product as the instance Motor Engine LFTS-2000since it is in the maturity stage of product life cycle. Two scenarios were designed to consider how different parameters affect inventory levels in reverse logistics. The report analysed how different parameters affect the inventory levels and minimum cost. With the increasing returned goods are processed, inventory levels and minimum cost will decrease correspondingly.

Jackson, Zoe. "The institutionalisation of environmental management at Hewlett-Packard Ltd." Thesis, Brunel University, 2000. http://bura.brunel.ac.uk/handle/2438/7280.

Abstract:
This portfolio presents the results of a project that examined the development of environmental management in a large multi-national corporation over a four year period. The aim of the project was to "institutionalise" environmental management, in other words to ensure that environmental management was considered part of normal business practice and not a well intentioned afterthought. This was achieved through an in-depth case study using action research methods to facilitate and record organisational change simultaneously. The research demonstrated that previous accounts of environmental management in industry have failed to provide an adequate analysis of the changes required to institutionalise environmental management. This is shown to be partly attributable to the dominance of the quantitative, outsider-based research methods. The research makes three principal contributions to knowledge: Identifying and describing four different levels of change required for the institutionalisation of environmental management in a comprehensive study Identifying factors affecting the institutionalisation of environmental management in an industrial setting Demonstrating the usefulness and validity of insider-based methodologies for environmental management research. In this Portfolio it is argued that the institutionalisation of environmental management requires change at multiple levels and that the observation and further clarification of these levels can be achieved through insider-based research methods. At a practictioner level, it is recommended that industrial managers reconsider their strategies for achieving the institutionalisation of environmental management. In particular, company-wide employee awareness programmes and/or policy driven management systems only go part way towards achieving an institutionalised approach. An approach,in line with existing organisational roles, culture and objectives is recommended. Further, as environmental management becomes considered as part of normal business practice, it is recommended that researchers identify the boundaries between environmental and other management research to reflect industrial practice.

Abstract:
Thesis (MBA) --University of Limpopo, 2017
Middle management at Shoprite faced challenges and their role is diverse and they lack strategies to cope with challenges within the organisation.Middle managers, in trying to balance the needs of senior and junior managers, often feel like ‘piggy-inthe- middle’, with potential for conflict and tension (McConville, 2006; Floyd and Wooldridge, 1992). A lack of leadership from senior management may compromise middle managers’ ability to take a professional approach to managing their area. Middle managers in Shoprite say that they want to be more professional Burgess, (2011)but are being inhibited by the lack of support and awareness from senior managers, with a negative impact on their motivation and their job satisfaction. In addition lack of middle manager’s involvement in decision making and strategy formulation. Middle managers become reluctant to change due to lack of communication on strategy alteration. This study intends to investigate the challenges faced by middle management at Shoprite Holdings Limited in Limpopo Province. The findings of the study show that the roles are challenging and varied, strategy implementation is a major challenge and support for middle managers is generally insufficient. Middle managers require support in induction into the middle management role and ongoing mentoring and appraisal. The little studies have been conducted about the challenges faced by middle management from different perspectives and organisations. Finally, further research into the challenges faced by middle management at Shoprite Holdings Ltd is required as it could either endorse or challenge the findings of this study and might also inform Top management about the Challenges faced by middle management and prompt an evaluation of the existing role, challenges and needs. Crookshanks, Paul Howard Wilfred. "Inventory management at Finning Ltd." Thesis, 1995. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/3592.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis deals with two separate but related projects completed by the author, with the assistance of those acknowledged later, for Finning Ltd. The goals of these projects were to improve customer service and minimize distribution costs in Finning's Caterpillar parts distribution activities by creating more effective and efficient methods of inventory control and demand forecasting. The first project, a parts inventory & distribution model, consists of two components; a simulation and an analytical model which work together to determine target inventory levels for each part at each Finning branch. The thesis deals specifically with a sub-component of the simulation - a transportation subroutine which minimizes the time required to transport a part to a branch which stocks out of the part from a branch where it is available. The algorithm developed for the subroutine resembles a classic Shortest Path algorithm, with some important modifications. The most important of these is that the transportation algorithm is entirely dependant on time; it seeks to minimize total elapsed time rather than total travel time. To account for this difference, the problem was approached through the use of a time-oriented graph rather than a physical graph. With this approach in mind, the graph was constructed and an algorithm developed which ensures that the optimal transportation route is selected. The purpose of the second project was to improve the accuracy of demand forecasts for Caterpillar parts at the various Finning branches. Finning's forecasting requirements indicated the need for an automatic time series forecasting package. It was determined that AUTOBOX 3.0, a statistical software package which automatically generates time series forecasts using the ARIMA method, could potentially meet Finning's needs in this area. An evaluation of AUTOBOX's forecasting techniques was undertaken, with emphasis on several specific options: Remodelling; Robust Autocorrelation; Holt-Winters Identification; Outlier Detection; and Convert Pulse-to-Step. Following the evaluation of these options, recommendations are made regarding the appropriate use of AUTOBOX by Finning, including a caution against relying blindly on forecasts made by any automatic procedure, without considering the peculiarities of particular datasets. At date of writing, these two projects have received varying levels of attention from Finning's Operations Research team. The primary commitment of Finning is to the development of the simulation and the implementation of its recommendations. Finning estimates its savings through use of the simulation to date at several hundred thousand dollars. It is estimated that this saving will increase to more than one million dollars when all planned changes are implemented. The demand forecasting evaluation, in contrast, remains to be used at some future date. The completion of these projects required that specific quantitative data be provided to the author by Finning with respect to its customer demand and operations. Due to the confidentiality of this information, specific quantitative data is not included in this thesis.

Abstract The Market Target market: SAR Macau is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China on the western side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China. As part of the Great China region, Macau is one of the most densely populated region in the world that has approximately has 500,000 people(based on IMF data) in an area of 32.9 square kilometres. After a long downturn and heavy restriction of financial access for gambling activities and money laundry among Chinese communist party officials and leaders of China’s national corporations’, Macau’s economy returned to growth starting in 2017. Beer, liquors, spirits and in particular Scotch and Cognac category boost growth in an overall demand despite 4 years downturn. Alcohol beverage category in Macau segmented and based on inbound and outbound consumption. Tourists are the main drivers for an alcoholic beverages consumption. Strong interest among visitors of Macau in on-trade and off-trade consumption are led by young male and female that are in particular visiting or passing through the territory daily and also by heavy gamblers that gained to have an access to Macau. Significant growth of tourists seen on long weekends and national holidays in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Macau remains second most important port of entry to China after SAR Hong Kong, therefore big multinationals are paying high attention to this market, but due to the low taxation & high-risk of trading goods into China, investments into Macau stays limited that led smaller distribution business having a chance to occupy and grow this market. Economy: The economy still heavily dependent on gambling revenues.Chinese government is urging Macau to diversify its industry to bring in more revenue from mainstream tourism and other sources. Demographic: Population in Macau is growing slowly and ageing rapidly. The territory’s Portuguese heritage is an evident in the strength of mix between traditional Portuguese and Macanese culture that had massive influence on a high demand for Portuguese products. Brandwerk Limited Brandwerk Ltd. has started as an independent distribution business in Hong Kong in 2006 and over the 10+ years became a valuable partner for many family owned breweries & distilleries from Europe, America and Australia in markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. The key differences between Brandwerk and other dominant players in the market are reliability, constant innovations, cost- and value-orientation, transperancy and the most important delivery of the results. Macau remained for us a main territory of distribution that was outsourced to the sub-distributor and now we are ready to allocate finances and grow our presence in there. The intention is to begin with core distribution portfolio of Brandwerk and add-on products that will show a rapid growth. The Finances The business start up costs are mainly funded by retained earnings that was accumulated in other markets and independent director’s investments. Financial projections are very conservative, over estimating costs and assumptions of the worst-case scenario with regards to revenue forecasts. Five-year financial projections reflects healthy growth year-on-year. Using a weighted average assuming a 1:1 sales mix for each variety, the break-even point has been estimated at 27516 units which translates to $4,318,708 MOP in annual sales. At current projections it will be achievable starting from Year 3 onwards.

Ramchunder, R. "Strategic management at FBSDL (Pty) Ltd." Thesis, 2003. http://hdl.handle.net/10413/3859.

Full text
Abstract:
The research at hand seeks to provide an answer to the following business problem: How should FBSDL (Pty) Ltd define, develop and maintain an effective Strategic Management System to ensure the long-term survival and sustainable growth of the company? After setting out the background of the company and the motivation for the research, a model for strategic management is developed including five main elements. These are the strategic Intent, Position, Choices, Implementation and Performance. This theoretical model is then converted into a questionnaire that is used as a tool for collecting information about the company relating to the various aspects of strategic management. Information is obtained via the analysis of company data, interviewing of relevant personnel and passive observation of company practices. The company data is evaluated against the theory together with an assessment of how well suited the status quo is to emerging internal and external conditions. Finally, recommendations are made for the enhancement of the strategic management of the company - satisfying the ultimate objective of the study.
