The current investigation is aimed at offering a methodological proposal to evaluate the 2.0 websites for group-interaction and social collective creation of the museums participating. These new logics of interaction, conversation and online communities constitution encorauge us to create these new museum contexts as discursive spaces and institutional practices that require a way of investigation that allows to know their process of creation and management. The biographical and narrative research with the life history as a methodological tool allows us to respond through the analysis of the experiences and speeches of the members of the participating museums. This is how the initial interviews become storytelling that culminate in a final polyphonic story. Consequently, the research process shows not only a "new way" of research and evaluating; but, that makes it possible to investigate “for”, “in” and “with” the museum, providing research participants a reflexive space to rethink and learn around their professional practice.

Thrift, Alan Albright. "Aerodynamic Force and Pressure Loss Measurements on Low Aspect Ratio Pin Fin Arrays." Thesis, Virginia Tech, 2007. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/31189.
Full textThis project culminates in the measurement of both pin fin force and array pressure drop as they related to changes in the array geometry. Specifically, the effects of Reynolds number, spanwise pin spacing, streamwise pin spacing, pin aspect ratio, and flow incidence angle. Direct two-component force measurement is achieved with a cantilever beam force sensor that uses highly sensitive piezoresistive strain gauges, relating the strain at the base of the beam to the applied force. With proper characterization, forces as small as one-tenth the weight of a paper clip are successfully measured. Additionally, array pressure drop measurements are achieved using static pressure taps.
Experiments were conducted over a range of Reynolds numbers between 7,500 and 35,000. Changes in the spanwise pin spacing were shown to substantially alter the pin fin drag and array pressure drop, while changes in the streamwise pin spacing were less influential. The experimental results also showed a dramatic reduction in the pin fin drag and array pressure drop for an inline flow incidence angle. Finally, changes in the pin aspect ratio were shown to have little effect on the array pressure drop.

Full textThe main reason of this investigation is to make the public more aware of what an urban movement or urban culture can grow and evolve over the pass of time. Freestyle is a movement that began in the eighties in Brooklyn, United States, since then it has been classified by several negative labels for the same fact that it started on the street, for example, violence, crime, etc. Over time, freestyle has grown and evolved in an incredible way. Before 2010, there was only one event per year, nowadays there are more than two events per month. This has been due to several factors, as well as the freestylers themselves, the freestyle community, live streaming, etc. So, the research question is: How has live streaming benefited The Urban Roosters' growth in the past 3 years? In this context, the research that I´ve been looking for has helped explore those benefits that have been granted over the years and the reasons as well. The research question is answered through the studies that have been carried out throughout this period. It has been investigated by reliable sources that have provided important data, so that the whole topic can be understood in more depth. Although it is true, there have been several important factors for the subject, those that have been most relevant and important over the years have been taken into account.

Full textAlteration of reproductive capacity is a common problem in our society; its prevalence is around 15%. Epidemiological studies in Europe show that couples seeking pregnancy achieve it between 80-85% in the first year. Therefore, there are millions of people around the world who are struggling with reproductive problems. These reproductive problems are due to multiple factors, occupying a prominent place the woman's age, it is not a pathology "per is" fate, but a consequence of the psychological and social evolution of women in recent years. In this way, seen as alterations of reproductive capacity, which we define as a physiological dysfunction most often, it is a biological fact with important psychological and social components. The increase in fertility disorders, joined with the spectacular advances that the reproductive medicine has experienced in the last decade, has resulted in a significant increase in the number of users. There are many couples and single women in our country today who benefit from fertility treatments. However, the emotional component of the problem and the process has received much less attention. This fact is due in part, to the professionals involved having biomedical training and based their attention on health care models with molecular insight into the pathology within a conceptual framework on health and disease of mentality clinicopathological, etipatogenica and pathophysiological, which revolves around the efficacy and safety of the process. This quest for maximum therapeutic performance has led in many occasions to minimize the emotional impact suffered by patients in these processes. This emotional distress has been widely studied by the mental health professionals, emerging the idea of vital crisis involving; vulnerability, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. It is in this emotional context, where patients must make some decisions which will not only have an impact in the short term, but will condition the rest of their lives. Two of the factors that contribute significantly to the inadequate decision-making process are: lack of detailed information and the perception of dissatisfaction with the treatment mainly at the stage of ovarian stimulation (OS) with subsequent anxiety generated at the prospect of having to repeat the cycle. These two factors can lead to aiming to get pregnancy at any price. In this thesis, we have tried to study the psychosocial impact for parents, on decisions made under an overall paradigm. Specifically of multiple births as a result of accepting the embryo transfer of two or more embryos and therefore resulting in multiple pregnancy in order to increase the number of implementation. Once these risks were found, an oriented instrument was developed to know the degree of satisfaction of the patients in the OS phase, in order to be able to intervene in the clinical variables to minimize its impact. The doctoral thesis we are presenting below consists of four studies which belong to the same line of research. The general objective of them all was to and focus on analyzing the psychosocial impacts for patients having more than one child birth as a result of the In Vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. Two of the four studies that make up this doctoral work, have been published in Fertility and Sterilty. This is the official magazine of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), with an impact factor of 4,175. One of them has been published in the Journal of Psychosomatic obstetrics, with an impact factor of 1,590. The fourth article has been published in the Revista Iberoamericana de Fertilidad of wide dissemination in the field of reproductive medicine in Spain with an impact factor of 0.10. Below are the specific objectives of studies and the method and procedure used in each of them. Finally, exposed and discussed the results, referring to the original articles included in the thesis, and proposed future lines of research.
