Abstract:
During parasitological surveys in Chittagong, Bangladesh two species of trichodinid ectoparasites belonging to the genera Tripartiella Lom, 1959 and Trichodina Ehrenberg, 1830 were collected from the gills of Rita rita (Hamilton, 1822) and Channa striata (Bloch, 1793) from January to December 2001. Tripartiella orthodens Basson and Van As, 1987 was recorded from the gills of R. rita in the Karnaphuli River systems, and Trichodina cobitis Lom, 1961 from C. striata in a household pond. Abstract:
Five trichodinid ectoparasites (Ciliophora: Peritrichida) were isolated from two freshwater fishes, Carassius auratus and Aristichthys nobilis collected from Chongqing, China. Trichodina subtilihamata sp. nov. is described from the gills of Carassius auratus and characterized by a slender hooked blade. The other four species of trichodinids are: Trichodina mutabilis Kazubski & Migala, 1968, Trichodina uniforma Van As & Basson, 1989, Trichodina nigra Lom, 1960 and Trichodina kazubski Van As & Basson, 1989. Comparative descriptions, with photomicrographs and morphometric data, are presented of these trichodinids to establish locality records. Descriptions presented here were obtained by examinations of specimens prepared using the dry silver nitrate impregation and the methyl green-pyronin staining. Comparisons with closely related species are provided for the new species.

Abstract:
Background Loa loa and Mansonella perstans–the causative agents of loiasis and mansonellosis—are vector-borne filarial parasites co-endemic in sub-Saharan Africa. Diagnosis of both infections is usually established by microscopic analysis of blood samples. It was recently established that the odds for detecting Plasmodium spp. is higher in capillary (CAP) blood than in venous (VEN) blood. In analogy to this finding this analysis evaluates potential differences in microfilaraemia of L. loa and M. perstans in samples of CAP and VEN blood. Methods Recruitment took place between 2015 and 2019 at the CERMEL in Lambaréné, Gabon and its surrounding villages. Persons of all ages presenting to diagnostic services of the research center around noon were invited to participate in the study. A thick smear of each 10 microliters of CAP and VEN blood was prepared and analysed by a minimum of two independent microscopists. Differences of log2-transformed CAP and VEN microfilaraemia were computed and expressed as percentages. Furthermore, odds ratios for paired data were computed to quantify the odds to detect microfilariae in CAP blood versus in VEN blood. Results A total of 713 participants were recruited among whom 52% were below 30 years of age, 27% between 30–59 years of age and 21% above 60 years of age. Male-female ratio was 0.84. Among 152 participants with microscopically-confirmed L. loa infection median (IQR) microfilaraemia was 3,650 (275–11,100) per milliliter blood in CAP blood and 2,775 (200–8,875) in VEN blood (p<0.0001), while among 102 participants with M. perstans this was 100 (0–200) and 100 (0–200), respectively (p = 0.44). Differences in linear models amount up to an average of +34.5% (95% CI: +11.0 to +63.0) higher L. loa microfilaria quantity in CAP blood versus VEN blood and for M. perstans it was on average higher by +24.8% (95% CI: +0.0 to +60.5). Concordantly, the odds for detection of microfilaraemia in CAP samples versus VEN samples was 1.24 (95% CI: 0.65–2.34) and 1.65 (95% CI: 1.0–2.68) for infections with L. loa and M. perstans, respectively. Conclusion This analysis indicates that average levels of microfilaraemia of L. loa are higher in CAP blood samples than in VEN blood samples. This might have implications for treatment algorithms of onchocerciasis and loiasis, in which exact quantification of L. loa microfilaraemia is of importance. Furthermore, the odds for detection of M. perstans microfilariae was higher in CAP than in VEN blood which may pre-dispose CAP blood for detection of M. perstans infection in large epidemiological studies when sampling of large blood quantities is not feasible. No solid evidence for a higher odds of L. loa microfilariae detection in CAP blood was revealed, which might be explained by generally high levels of L. loa microfilaraemia in CAP and VEN blood above the limit of detection of 100 microfilariae/ml. Yet, it cannot be excluded that the study was underpowered to detect a moderate difference.

Abstract:
An 80-kDa protein, prominently expressed in smooth muscle, was microsequenced and identified as LPP, the product of the lipoma-preferred partner gene (Petit MMR, Mols R, Schoenmakers EFPM, Mandahl N, and Van de Ven WJM. Genomics 36: 118–129, 1996). Using a specific anti-LPP antibody, we showed, in Western blots and with immunofluorescence microscopy, the selective expression of LPP in vascular and visceral smooth muscles (∼0.5–1 ng/μg total protein). In other mature (noncultured) tissues, including heart and skeletal muscle, the protein is present only in trace amounts and is closely correlated with the levels of the smooth muscle marker α-actin. In freshly isolated guinea pig bladder smooth muscle cells, immunofluorescence images showed LPP as linear arrays of punctate, longitudinally oriented staining superimposed with vinculin staining on the plasma membrane surface. A corresponding pattern of periodic labeling at the membrane in transverse sections of bladder smooth muscle suggested an association of LPP with peripheral dense bodies. In cultured rat aortic smooth muscle cells, LPP colocalized with vinculin at focal adhesions but not with p120 catenin or α-actinin. Overexpression of the protein increased EGF-stimulated migration of vascular smooth muscle cells in Transwell assays, suggesting the participation of LPP in cell motility. The Rho-kinase inhibitor Y-27632 dissociated focal adhesions and LPP staining at the cell periphery and enhanced the nuclear accumulation of LPP induced by leptomycin B, indicating that LPP has a potential for relocating to the nucleus through a shuttling mechanism that is sensitive to inhibition of Rho-kinase.

In this paper, we will consider the Laplace decomposition method (LDM) for finding series solutions of nonlinear oscillator differential equations. The equations are Laplace transformed and the nonlinear terms are represented by He’s polynomials. The solutions are compared with the numerical (fourth-order Runge-Kutta) solution and the solution obtained by the Adomian decomposition method. The suggested algorithm is more efficient and easier to handle as compared to the numerical method. The results illustrate that LDM is an appropriate method in solving the highly nonlinear equations.

Az utóbbi évek során több változáson esett át a szakszövegek írása és azok felhasználási módja: a legtöbb példát ma olyan országokban találjuk, ahol nem számít hivatalos nyelvnek a lingua franca angol, viszont a műszaki dokumentációt angol nyelven készítik; ezeket a dokumentumokat ugyanitt nem angol anyanyelvű szakemberek írják; a felhasználóknak szóló információkat viszont az adott ország hivatalos nyel- vén is közölni kell, mindez pedig hatalmas mennyiségű fordítási igényhez vezet. A megfelelő folyamatszabályozás szerves részét képezi a termékek és szolgáltatá- sok internacionalizációja és lokalizációja, és ebben a rendkívül fontos, globális folyamatban van kulcsszerepe a terminológiának.

Három évtizeddel ezelőtt azzal a céllal in­dult a LAM, hogy az orvostudomány és annak határterületeivel kapcsolatos tudományos információkról tájékoztasson. Már a kezdetektől fogva felvállalt egy különleges tématerületet is, amelyben a medicinát a művészet világával kapcsolja össze. Az or­vosszakmai közlemények palettáján ez ma is különlegesnek számít. A LAM eddigi történetének elemzését nemzetközileg elfogadott publikációs irányelvek, és az objektivitást biztosító, tudományos adatbázisok segítségével végeztük. Megvizsgáltuk a LAM gyakorlatát, hogy a hagyományos nyomtatott füzet és az elektronikus verzió tartalmának közzététele során miként felel meg a legfőbb szempontoknak, a jelen kor szakmai elvárásainak. Feltártuk a kiadvány jelenlétét a legnagyobb bibliográfiai és tudománymetriai adatbázisokban, áttekintettük helyét a ha­zai szakmai folyóiratok között. Az eredmények azt bizonyítják, hogy az elmúlt évek során a LAM annak ellenére szerzett nemzetközi ismertséget, hogy a ke­vesek által beszélt magyar nyelven megjelenő kiadvány. Köszönhető ez a külföldi társszerzőkkel, valamint a kizárólag kül­honi kutatók által írott cikkek LAM-ra való hivatkozásainak. A magyar bibliográfiai adat­bázisok érthető módon teljes terjedelmében tartalmazzák a folyóiratot, amelynek az élenjáró lapok között van az olvasottsága. A kiadvány nagy erénye a szerzők munkahelye szerinti megoszlás széles spektruma, mellyel szinte teljes egészében lefedik a hazai egészségügyi intézményi rendszert. A tartalom különlegességét eme­lik a művészeti tárgyú írások, amelyek az or­vosi szakközleményekhez hasonló feltártság esetén fokozott magyar és külföldi érdeklődésre tarthatnak számot.

"Behold, the Lamb of God... " Substitutionary sacrifice traditions in the Gospel of Joh. The issue of substitutionary sacrifice in John's Gospel is hotly debated. In this article it is argued that there are clear traces of this tradition in the Gospel, although it receives little emphasis. The hypothesis is argued that the author concentrates on the positive aspects of salvation. He does not deal with the question of Jesus' treatment of sin and gUilt as such. However, with the scattered remarks through the Gospel about substitution and sacrifice, a clear indication is given that Jesus also deals with sin (I :29). Due to the positive theological focus in the Gospel this theme is not further developed, but simply stated briefly. When the question about the treatment of sin comes into focus (i e 1 John), no hesitation is displayed in using "typical" sacrificial and substitutionary terminology.

Az új koronavírus-betegségről és ke­ze­lé­sé­ről több mint egy éve gyűlnek az adatok. A betegség kimenetele négyféle lehet: tünetmentes vagy enyhe lefolyású, hospitalizációt igénylő, súlyos vagy letális ki­me­netelű, és tartós, vagy utólagos manifesztációjú. Ez utóbbiakat nevezzük poszt-Co­vid-tünetegyüttesnek. Az akut Covid- és a poszt-Covid-tünetegyüttes részeként gyakori, de igen heterogén lokalizációjú fájdalomszindrómákat írtak le. Ezeket a fáj­da­lom típusa szerint célszerű osztályozni: nociceptiv/gyulladásos, perifériás neuropa­thiás vagy centrális. Tisztázni kell azt is, hogy a poszt-Coviddal megjelenő beteg milyen szakaszban van, azaz elhúzódó, long-, vagy poszt-Covid-szindrómával ál­lunk-e szemben. Az akut általános gyulladásos reakció mellett igen ritka a mozgás­szervrendszerben jelentkező valódi ízületi vagy izomgyulladásos jelenség. Akut és elhúzódó formákban viszont egyaránt jelen van a diffúz mozgásszervi fájdalom, a krónikus fáradtság, a generalizált szorongás és a depressziós hajlam. Ezek magyará­zata alapvetően neurológiai: parainfekciós „neuroinflammatio”, azaz neuropathiás és centrális mechanizmusok állnak a háttérben. Eszerint kell az analgetikumok neurofarmakológiai hatásmechanizmusainak is­me­retében a terápiás lehetőségek közül választani. Az időskorú, nagy iatrogén kockázatú betegeknél, több társbetegség fennállása mellett, per os kezelés helyett a transdermalis gyógyszerbevitel is alkalmazható.

In order to reduce the lead-time and cost, the technology of rapid prototyping (RP) has been widely used. However, RP techniques have disadvantageous characteristics according to their working principles: a low building speed caused by a thin-layer, stair-stepped surface of a part due to layer-by-layer stacking with a vertical edge, an additional post-processing and high cost for installation, operation and maintenance of the RP apparatus. The objective of this study is to propose a new RP process, progressive-type variable lamination manufacturing using expandable polystyrene foam (VLM-SP), to overcome the disadvantageous characteristics and to develop an apparatus for the implementation of the process. The proposed RP system employs several novel techniques such as a thick layer with the thickness less than 2 mm, a sloped surface with the first-order approximation between the top and bottom surfaces of each layer, a building sequence that performed stacking and bonding after cutting, the concept of a unit shape part (USP) and an automated synchronized four-axis hot-wire cutting system. In this paper, the characteristics of the proposed process and apparatus are discussed. The experiments are carried out to verify the bonding strength of the bonded area. Several three-dimensional shapes are fabricated on the prototype of the VLM-SP apparatus in order to investigate the applicability of the proposed process. In addition, in order to examine the efficiency of the VLM-SP process, the prototypes of VLM-SP are compared with those of commercial RP processes [LOM (laminated object manufacturing) and FDM (fused deposition modelling)] from the viewpoint of geometrical conformity, building time, building cost and dimensional accuracy. As a result of the comparison, it has been shown that the proposed process is an efficient rapid prototyping process.

De term ‘slachten’ is afgeleid van slaan, knock-out slaan. Bewusteloos slaan was een primitieve, nogal drastische vorm van bedwelming voor het slachten van vee. Dat werd steevast gevolgd door het eigenlijke doden met verbloeden door halssnede of doorsnijden van de grote bloedvaten bij het hart. De moderne varianten met schiettoestellen en metalen pennen of met elektrische bedwelming verschillen niet wezenlijk van het ‘slaan’ met de hamer. Gewezen wordt op het belang van deze methode als basis van het onderscheid met ritueel slachten in de joodse traditie en ook met het ‘nekken’ (doorsnijden van het ruggenmerg in de nek) zoals in grote delen van de wereld gebruikelijk bij rundvee, bij ons enkel bij kleinvee (kippen, konijnen, duiven). Bij een tweede belangrijke vorm van ritueel slachten, voor de productie van vlees toegelaten (halal) voor moslims, is niet de manier van slachten essentieel, wel een minstens rudimentair ritueel van offeren aan Allah. Bedwelmen kan ook voor halalvlees, mits het dier niet doodgeslagen wordt en goed uitbloedt. Dit wordt tot op heden echter slechts door een minderheid van islamgeleerden aanvaard. Een korte beschrijving wordt gegeven van de achtergrond van de voorschriften, die vermoedelijk te zoeken zijn in de oertijden van de veehouderij, toen het slachten van een dier bij herdersvolkeren nog iets zeer uitzonderlijk was, iets wat zelfs de plaats kon innemen van het mensenoffer aan God, zoals het bijbelverhaal van Abraham illustreert. In de christelijke traditie gebeurde dat door de offerdood van Jezus, zoon van God, het Lam Gods, dagelijks herhaald in het misoffer. Dat offer betekende een radicale breuk met de joodse voedselvoorschriften. Het verklaart niet enkel de afwezigheid van rituelen bij het slachten zoals bij ons gebruikelijk, maar ook het stilaan verdwijnen van op religie gebaseerde voedseltaboes na de eerste eeuwen van het christendom.

Characteristic curves of soil moisture, between water content and matrix suction, are the basis for solving the problems of water flow and solute movement in soils. The soil–water characteristics of five layers of depths, 0–12 cm, 12–24 cm, 24–36 cm, 36–48 cm, and 48–60 cm, were measured for a sandy loam soil from Daxing District of Beijing in the northern part of the North China Plain by a pressure membrane apparatus. Curves were fitted using the Van Genuchten model. The fit between measured data and modeled results was excellent. The soil-water characteristic curves showed the typical Sshape of the Van Genuchten model. Matrix suction decreased with an increase in soil moisture; at low suctions, soil moisture content changed to a greater extent with suction, but at high suction, changes in soil moisture content with changes in suction were small. Clay content was proportional to soil water storage capacity and was inversely related to the speed of dehydration.

A nonlocal pressure equation is derived from mean-field free energy theory for calculating liquid-vapor systems. The proposed equation is validated analytically by showing that it reduces to van der Waals’ square-gradient approximation under the assumption of slow density variations. The proposed nonlocal pressure is implemented in the mean-field free energy lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). The LBM is applied to simulate equilibrium liquid-vapor interface properties and interface dynamics of capillary waves and oscillating droplets in vapor. Computed results are validated with Maxwell constructions of liquid-vapor coexistence densities, theoretical relationship of variation of surface tension with temperature, theoretical planar interface density profiles, Laplace’s law of capillarity, dispersion relationship between frequency and wave number of capillary waves, and the relationship between radius and the oscillating frequency of droplets in vapor. It is shown that the nonlocal pressure formulation gives excellent agreement with theory.

A legújabb eredmények szerint várandósság esetén nő a kórházi kezelés, az invazív lélegeztetés, a ha­lál kockázata, fokozódik a koraszülés és csá­szár­metszés esélye. Úgy tűnik, hogy vertikális fertőzés csak az esetek kis százalékában jelentkezik. Magyarországon tudomásunk szerint eddig hét várandós nő vesztette életét a Covid-19 miatt. További szigorú vizsgálatokra van szükség a terhességi szövődmények pontosabb ismere­téhez.

A sensitivity analysis of the influence of the pseudopotential parameters and the grid resolution is presented. The effect of gravity force on interface densities, density profiles and liquid volume fraction is studied.Design/methodology/approachThe D2Q9 multiple-relaxation-time pseudopotential LBM for two-phase flow is proposed to simulate the phase separation. The analytical solution for density profiles in a one-dimensional problem is derived and used as a benchmark case to validate the numerical results.FindingsThe numerical results reproduce the analytical density profiles with great accuracy over a wide range of simulation conditions, including variations of the gravity and temperature fields. Particularly, the numerical simulations are able to represent the effect of gravity on the existence and position of the liquid–vapor boundary of an ideal pure substance in thermodynamic equilibrium. The sensitivity of the results to variations of the calibration parameters of the VdW pseudopotential was assessed.Research limitations/implicationsThe numerical simulations were performed assuming a VdW fluid in a 2-D cavity with one periodic direction for which analytical solutions for benchmarking purposes are possible to obtain.Originality/valueThe following fundamental question is addressed: Is the pseudopotential LBM capable of simulating accurately the liquid–vapor equilibrium under gravity forces and temperature gradients? Moreover, regarding that the pseudopotential model requires the calibration of several internal parameters to achieve thermodynamic consistency, the sensitivity of the results to variations of these parameters is assessed.

In this paper, we develop an algorithm to determine the decay parameter of such a specialized exponentially ergodic birth-death process, based on van Doorn's representation (1987) of eigenvalues of sign-symmetric tridiagonal matrices. The decay parameter is important since it is indicative of the speed of convergence to ergodicity. Some comparability results for the decay parameters are given, followed by the discussion for the decay parameter of a birth-death process governed by the parameters such that lim n→∞ λn = λ and lim n→∞ µn = μ. The algorithm is also shown to be a useful tool to determine the quasi-stationary distribution, i.e. the limiting distribution conditioned to stay in {1, 2, ···}, of such specialized birth-death processes.

A diabetes mellitus civilizációs betegség, ami a fejlett országokban a dolgozó korú lakosság körében a vakság kialakulásának vezető oka. Hazánkban a cukorbetegség prevalenciája 9,9%-ra tehető a felnőttkorúaknál, ami alapján 2015-ben 807 000 főre becsülték a cukorbetegek számát e korcsoportban. Csaknem minden ötödik cukorbetegnek van valamilyen cukorbetegség okozta szemészeti szövődménye Magyar­or­szágon, közülük 0,3% vak és 0,3% sú­lyos látássérült a nem megfelelően kezelt cukorbetegség és diabeteses retinopathia miatt. A diabeteses retinopathia prevalenciaalapú költségterhe 2018-ban 43,66 milliárd Ft volt Magyarországon. A két fő költségviselő az antiVEGF injekciók és a vitrectomia műtétek voltak; a költségek több mint négyötödéért ezen két tétel volt felelős. A cu­korbetegség és az elhízás elleni küzdelemben előtérbe kell helyeznünk a prevenciót, ezzel együtt az egészséges táplálkozást, a gyakori testmozgás és a fizikai aktivitás szük­ségességét. Cukorbetegeknél az évenként elvégzett szemészeti ellenőrzésekkel és a diabeteses retinopathia megfelelő időben való kezelésével a cukorbetegség szövődményeként kialakuló látásromlás és vakság megelőzhető.

A nemszteroid típusú gyulladáscsökkentők (NSAID) az orvoslásban a leggyakrabban alkalmazott szerek közé tartoznak. Ennek ellenére számos tanulmányban hangsúlyozták, hogy az NSAID-ok károsíthatják nemcsak a gastrointestinalis (GI), hanem a cardiovascularis (CV) rendszert is, növelhetik a vérnyomást, a coronariaesemények (angina, myocardiuminfarktus) és a stroke gyakoriságát, emellett vesekárosodást is okozhatnak. A National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) nem talált bizonyítékot arra, hogy az NSAID-ok alkalmazása fokozná a Covid-19 kockázatát, vagy rontana a Covid-19-ben szenvedő betegek állapotán. Az egyes hatóanyagok nemkívánatos hatásainak gyakorisága és súlyossága azonban jelentős eltéréseket mutat. Sokáig úgy tűnt, hogy az NSAID-ok fokozódó GI kockázata arányban van a COX-1/COX-2 szelektivitással, a cardiovascularis kockázat pedig a COX-2/COX-1 szelektivitással, az újabb adatok azonban ezt nem támasztják alá egyértelműen. A rendelkezésre álló irodalom alapján, a gast­ro­intestinalis és a cardiovascularis nem­kí­vá­natos eseményeket tekintve, az ace­clofenac mellékhatásprofilja az NSAID-ok között a legkedvezőbbnek tűnik.

Restricting to prime bases p we present two families of generating permutations. We describe their elements as polynomials over finite fields 𝔽p in an explicit way. We determine the best permutations in our first family and show that all permutations of the second family improve the distribution behavior of classical van der Corput sequences in the sense that $t\left({S_p^\sigma } \right) < t\left({S_p^{id} } \right)$ .

Abstract:
A study was carried out between January and July 2016 to investigate the sickpig trade network which is believed to have been operating in Northern Vietnam for decades. From early 2015, many warnings about the existence of this illegal network have been published in local newspapers, causing great concern among consumers and authorities. The aim of this study was to investigate the commodity chain to identify the trade network, evaluate the risk of disease dissemination, and propose preventive solutions. The results showed that the sick-pig commodity chain included farmers, middlemen, slaughterhouses and consumers in the three studied districts (Van Lam, Van Giang and My Hao, in Hung Yen Province). The qualitative risk assessment determined that middlemen and slaughterhouses were the main actors in this uncontrolled chain. Appropriate administrative regulations, regardless of the importance of these actors, would be crucial to limit negative effects of sick-pig products. Furthermore, proper intervention would remove threats to other farms and long-term effects on human health.

AbstractWe obtained simultaneous images of solar plage on 7 May 1991 with Goddard Space Flight Center’s Solar EUV Rocket Telescope and Spectrograph (SERTS), the Very Large Array (VLA), and the NASA/NSO spectromagnetograph at Kitt Peak. Using intensity ratios of Fe XVI to Fe XV emission lines, we find that the coronal plasma temperature is 2.5 ± 0.3 ×lO6 K throughout the region. The column emission measure ranges from 2.6 × 1027 to 1.3 × 1028 cm−5. The calculated structure and intensity of the 20 cm wavelength thermal bremsstrahlung emission from the hot plasma observed by SERTS is quite similar to the observed structure and intensity of the 20 cm microwave emission observed by the VLA. Using the revised coronal iron abundance of Meyer (1991, 1992), we find no evidence for either cool absorbing plasma or for contributions from thermal gyroemission. Combining the observed microwave polarization and the SERTS plasma parameters, we calculate a map of the coronal longitudinal magnetic field. The resulting values, ~ 30 – 60 Gauss, are comparable to extrapolated values of the potential field at heights of 5,000 and 10,000 km.

Sluice gate operation is necessary to keep the continuity the design discharge. The mis-operation of sluice gate occurs endanger stucture and destruct the bed irrigation channel. Investigation about sluice gate operation and bed configuration are needed to avoid the destruction of the structure bed irrigation channel. The changes in bed form result from interaction of the flow, fluid and bed material. The aim of this paper is to investigate the influence of different flow parameter, height of opening gate and types of bed material. Fourty five runs were executed at different discharge started from 1.0 l/s to 5.0 l/s with an increment of 0.5 where each discharge has five different opening gate to get all characteristics of bed configuration. The material used in the experiments were sandy loam. The experimental were conducted in an acrylic side flume with recirculating water at Applied Hydraulics Laboratory in Water Resources Engineering Faculty, Brawijaya University, Malang, Indonesia. The result of investigation showed that the bed configuration of sandy loam is ripple for most of the condition. At the same opening gate and various discharge the configuration is start by plane bed (no motion) and ripplee. Meanwhile, for the same discharge at the various opening gate occurs the ripple bed configuration. The various velocity that occur during the runing process cause the changing of bed configuration. For the greater discharge at the same opening gate occur the highest velocity. This condition cause the grain sediment material of the bed channel lift up and start to moving. This result is suitable with equation approaches from the van Rijn, Simon Richardson and Garde Albertson.

Az elmúlt 30 évben a tüdőrák komplex kezelésében óriási fejlődés történt. Ez a fejlődés főként az utóbbi évtizedhez köthető. A tüdőrák kezelésével kapcsolatos nihilizmus már a múlté, realitássá vált az is, hogy az előrehaladott stádiumú betegek is megfelelő kezeléssel gyógyíthatóvá válhatnak, illetve betegségük folyamatos aktív daganatellenes terápia mellett krónikussá szelídíthető. Az előrehaladott stádiumban lévők harminc évvel ezelőtt elérhető 6-8 hónapos várható túlélési mutatói manapság már jelentősen növekedtek, bizonyos esetekben akár az 5 évet is meghaladhatják. Ehhez szük­séges a megfelelő diagnosztikus háttér, amely lehetővé teszi a biomarkeralapú ke­zeléseket. Korai stádiumban alapvető a re­szekciós tüdőműtét, beillesztve a komplex terápiás lehetőségeket neoadjuváns és adjuváns formában, illetőleg az új műtéti technikák is hozzájárulnak a terápiás eredmények javulásához. Elmondható ugyanez a sugárterápia vonatkozásában is. A gyógyszeres terápiás lehetőségek tekintetében is a komplex terápiás stratégia érvényesül, melyben alapvető szerepet játszanak a citotoxikus kemoterápiás, célzott kezelési és immunterápiás modalitások. A tüdőrák kezelési stratégiájának felállításában döntő szerepe van a tüdőrák-specifikus onko­teamek működésének. A jövő útját az újabb és újabb célzott terápiás lehetőségek megjelenése, az immunterápiás indikációk bővülése jelezheti a precíziós medicina alkalmazásával. Nem szabad azonban elfeledkeznünk a primer és szekunder prevencióról sem, mely a dohányzás elleni hatékony küzdelmet, illetőleg most már az evidenciává vált rizikócsoportos alacsony dózisú mellkasi CT-szűrés alkalmazását jelenti.
