Abstract:
Nowadays, companies offer various logistics services to their customers. Diversity of these services is essential for business. The range of services that logistics companies cover depends on various factors; it can be solely transport, but can also be a complex service that includes organisation of raw materials delivery, warehousing, delivery of finished goods to customers and dealing with documents like invoices, waybills and others. The increasing popularity of logistics in services is noticeable. This is connected with global changes. This is a complex phenomenon that connects aspects and features of services and logistics. The three most important areas for logistics in services are: minimisation of waiting time, management of service potential and service delivery. The goal of this article is to reveal the difference between these two subjects and review the literature connected with them. The main conclusions are that logistics services can be seen as belonging to logistics in the services phenomenon. In every area of logistics in services, three phases can be distinguished: supply, production and sales. Germany has the leading position in Europe when it comes to the logistics services market. Dynamic changes in logistics have led to the development of a new classification of logistics enterprises. The European Commission is analysing changes in the sector in order to prepare new strategic objectives.

Abstract:
Due to the rapidly changing global markets and the impact of digitalization, businesses must continually seek new opportunities to enhance their competitiveness, including the logistics principles application. While logistics alone may not grant substantial competitive advantages, its strategic alignment with key competencies, continuous improvement, and the application of logistics engineering principles can significantly enhance an enterprise's competitive standing. The article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of logistic engineering and its potential to revolutionize enterprise competitiveness management. The primary hypothesis of this research postulates the conception of logistic governance as the creation of an institutional environment that imparts logistic principles and philosophy to all participants. In doing so, it ensures the selection and generation of superior logistic practices among those available in the market. Choosing these best practices and integrating them with dynamic capabilities promotes competitive growth within an enterprise. The selection of best practices is adjusted within the logistics governance framework, which is proposed to be considered a new theoretical concept. Providing additional hypotheses in connection with management's focus has aided in developing a high-level model for logistical engineering. This model highlights two critical processes: an operation process activated by an event timer and the subsequent logistical engineering process. The result of this sequence is the creation of institutional rules for the logistics system, thus establishing an overarching framework. This enhances the system's efficiency and adaptability amidst varied business situations. Keywords: logistics engineering, integrated supply chains, competitiveness management, logistics governance

Abstract:
The Republic of Slovenia has been and will become increasingly involved in in- ternational processes. This also demands continuous adjustments of the Slovenian Armed Forces. In line with NATO projections, future operations will become even more complex and multidimensional, and will therefore require the SlovenianArmed Forces to attain a higher level of interoperability also in logistics. In the future, the logistics of the Slovenian Armed Forces will strengthen its relations with economic and NATO logistics. Logistic efficiency is influenced by the regulation in terms of its development. The regulation must reflect special characteristics of the Slovenian Armed Forces and their logistics. Owing to the development of society, influence of the global international environment and other factors, operational requirements will be subject to rapid changes in the future. This will require quick response also in the drafting of the regulations applicable to the efficiency of the Slovenian Armed Forces’ logistics. Logistics in the Slovenian Armed Forces is governed by a number of different rules ranging from laws to edicts, upholding the legality of the forces. When drafting new regulations, all circumstances, which demand their adoption, need to be taken into account. Extra focus must be put on the procedure according to which they are drafted. The efficiency of the Slovenian Armed Forces’ logistics thus relies on the regulations, which are linked to the science of logistics and juri- sprudence. In this way, the importance of regulation will increase in the future, with the operations of the Slovenian Armed Forces' logistics becoming more complex and international.

A statistical analysis has been conducted on a sample of 30 Slovenian companies, the main purpose of which was to determine the impact of the level of education of logistics employees and the logistics knowledge of employees from other departments on the logistics processes of companies. It has been determined that the acquired level of education has a significant impact on the level of logistics costs in larger companies. The results of the survey have also proved that the quality of logistical processes is higher in companies where employees from other departments possess a wide range of logistical knowledge. The results obtained represent an important finding for the logistic profession in Slovenia and for the wider region, since logistics is an area that continues to be dominated by employees with a lower level education.

Abstract:
AbstractIn today’s buyer’s markets, logistical service quality is of great importance, particularly for high-priced products. For many buyers, the automobile is the epitome of a high-priced, individually customized product. Hence, customers expect a high delivery service quality. Distribution logistics provides the link between the manufacturer and the customer and is therefore responsible for providing these services. In automobile logistics, the distribution chain involves several stakeholders, such as manufacturers, transport, and technical services providers, as well as dealers. Seamless coordination between them is crucial. Digitalization is an inevitable means for gaining a high level of transparency among the stakeholders. In addition, it provides technologies for developing effective and tailor-made assistance and control systems that support processes along the distribution chain. In recent years, the BIBA—Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH has been active in automobile logistics research and has been involved in developing several assistant and control systems that range from relatively simple track and trace systems to highly complex compound control systems. In this paper, we present an overview of the developed systems and provide a vision, how recent and ongoing research improves automobile logistics and how to further potential can be leveraged.

Abstract:
International trade (IT) is recognised as one of the driving forces for business and the growth of countries’ economic. The amount of IT flows is contributed by the “logistics revolution”. According to the conceptual approach, the development of transportation modes, logistics infrastructure may facilitate in-ternational trade. However, it remains unclear whether logistic performance changes contribute to IT flows since the number of researches that examine the effect of logistic performance on IT is limited. So, this paper aims to determine whether the flows of IT are contingent on logistics performance. The research re-lies on panel data of 28 European Union (EU) Member States (MS) over 2007–2016. The results of our investigation confirmed that the changes of logistics performance positively related to IT flow of EU MS, but this impact differs across countries.

Abstract:
An important source of competitive advantage for logistic functions is to include the processes brought using the Industry 4.0 approach in their business models. The main problem is how to measure the logistics 4.0 levels of enterprises. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model for measuring the degree of logistics 4.0 (DoL_4.0) in SMEs. This measurement model is based on the usage scores of logistics 4.0 technologies used in businesses, usage scores in logistic activities, and the number of technologies used. Second, the relationship between DoL_4.0 and firm performance was examined. Our data were collected using the convenience sampling method in Gaziantep, Turkey. Because this research was an exploratory study, data were collected from 57 companies. In order to test the study topics, correlation analyses were conducted. The findings revealed robust correlations among the variables under investigation. The paper concludes with a discussion of the management and theoretical implications of the study’s findings.

Abstract:
Business networking strategies and especially co-operation in logistics is gaining momentum for individual companies in order to survive in competitive markets. As cross-company transport bundling is a powerful approach to optimize cost structures, this publication deals with the conceptual design and evaluation of cross-company logistics models. For this purpose, a simulation and evaluation model is presented that supports the development of new logistics concepts. Therefore models for the calculation of emissions, costs and logistics competitiveness, have to be created and combined to holistically validate and evaluate the new approach. This combination between the three different target values distinguishes the developed model from already published methods. Based on the sustainable, company-wide approach, potentials for optimization in the areas emissions, costs, and logistic competitiveness can be detected and by means of these analysis results, new sustainable and energy efficient logistics models can be designed.

Abstract:
Sustainable urban logistics encompasses a rational movement of goods via various modes of transport, as well as the management of warehouses, warehouse complexes, and delivery networks. Urban postal logistics is becoming gradually more important as the urban population and e-commerce are increasing. Efficient and sustainable delivery management in narrower city cores is important for the alleviation of traffic congestion, air pollution, and carbon emissions. In addition, it plays a crucial role in enabling fast and reliable delivery of goods to end users and companies. Some key challenges in urban logistics include limited room for warehousing and distribution, traffic congestion, pollution, noise, and gradually shorter expected delivery times. To tackle all these challenges, urban logistic solutions can include alternative transportation options, route and delivery optimization, as well as the application of smart technologies and data analysis. AR (augmented reality) has the potential to make postal-logistic operations more efficient, economical, and safer through the use of real-time data, visualization, and remote assistance. On the road to sustainability, the visualization of operations can be especially useful. This allows logistics managers to better understand the flow of goods and make timely decisions. Equally important is the education of personnel through simulations of technological processes or their parts, and remote assistance, which can engage users through an interactive experience and improve customer satisfaction through a 3D representation of goods in their environment.
