Abstract:
Abstract Locus control regions (LCRs) are operationally defined by their ability to enhance the expression of linked genes to physiological levels in a tissue-specific and copy number–dependent manner at ectopic chromatin sites. Although their composition and locations relative to their cognate genes are different, LCRs have been described in a broad spectrum of mammalian gene systems, suggesting that they play an important role in the control of eukaryotic gene expression. The discovery of the LCR in the β-globin locus and the characterization of LCRs in other loci reinforces the concept that developmental and cell lineage–specific regulation of gene expression relies not on gene-proximal elements such as promoters, enhancers, and silencers exclusively, but also on long-range interactions of variouscis regulatory elements and dynamic chromatin alterations.

Abstract:
The youth are treated as a psychological age, during which the transition to independence, a period of self-determination, the acquisition of psychological, ideological and civic maturity occurs, outlook, moral consciousness and self-consciousness are formed. This article highlights features of the development of the locus of control at a young age. The concept of locus of control and its types is disclosed. Also described are the factors that influence the formation of the activity of behavioural activity and attitudes of subjects in adolescence, namely - its formation depends on both internal (subjective) and external (objective) factors. However, the perception of the world through one type of locus is crucial: internal (internal) or by the external (external) locus of control. The relevance of the study is due to the needs of both theoretical and practical needs. First of all, the need to follow how the locus of control directs the young man's actions in the direction necessary for his development. Central to the development of psychological tumours is the emergence of phenomena of consciousness during adolescence and adolescence, which dramatically changes the behaviour of the young man towards himself and the world, as he becomes able to make choices independently, based on personal principles and values and be responsible for the choice made. It is also conditioned by the importance of the process of self-determination of personality, which is the most important goal during the adolescence. In this regard, it is clear that the question of the locus of control, like the search for oneself, is receiving attention in psychology. Thus, the term locus of control allows us to trace the significant moments of manifestations of activity in the behavioural activity and relationships of subjects. What is the reason for the change in emotional and behavioural responses is due to the lack of people with a predominant external or internal locus of control.

Abstract:
Driving is an activity that contains a high risk such as loss, damage, loss, accidents and even death, so the drivers requires full attention with very high concentration. One of the causes of accidents experienced by some drivers is the result of several internal factors from the driver, one of the factors is boredom proneness. To be able to control all factors while driving, of course, good control skills are needed for the driver. One of the constructs that is able to explain this is the locus of control. In terms of driving on the road, drivers must also pay attention to personal safety by paying attention to vehicle speed. This research was conducted to determine the effect of locus control on boredom prone, boredom prone to speed, and control locus on speed. Data for research were obtained through online questionnaires. This research will be the method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). From the research results, it was found that the boredom proneness greatly affects a person's choice of speed. Meanwhile, the locus of control is a factor that slightly affects a person's speed selection. In addition, the locus of control is sufficient to affect a person's boredom proneness nature ABSTRAKMengemudi merupakan kegiatan yang mengandung resiko tinggi seperti kerugian, kerusakan, kehilangan, kecelakaan bahkan kematian, dengan demikian pengemudi membutuhkan perhatian penuh dengan konsentrasi sangat tinggi.

Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effects of professionalism, competence, and role conflict on the tax auditors’ performance. This study also needs to investigate the moderating role of locus of control. The sample consists of 139 tax auditors at the Riau Directorate General Taxes Office-Indonesia. Data analysis techniques include multiple regression and moderated regression analysis. The results show that professionalism, competence, and role conflict affect the tax auditors’ performance. A tax auditor who is professional, has competence, and does not feel there is conflict in carrying out his/her role, will have better performance. Besides, this study also found out that locus of control moderates the effects of professionalism, competence, and role conflict on the tax auditors’ performance. Internal locus of control will further enhance the tax auditors’ performance with high professionalism, satisfactory competence, and reduce low performance resulting from role conflict. Internal locus of control will improve the performance, which decreases due to the occurrence of role conflict with the tax auditors.

Abstract:
We investigated the relationships between general and specific measures of locus of control with severity of bulimic behavior. Two groups of participants who did and did not fulfil the criteria for bulimia completed measures of symptomatic behavior, internal and external locus of control, health locus of control, and weight locus of control. Results of a comparison revealed no significant differences between the groups. Generalized locus of control was a predictor of frequency of binges but not severity of weight-control strategies or weight fluctuation. The practical implications of and possible reasons for the results are discussed.

Abstract:
A smoking-specific locus of control scale was developed by modifying a drinking-related locus of control scale. The new scale, Rotter's I-E scale, and a smoking questionnaire were administered to 70 subjects. Estimates of reliability indicated that the new scale had reasonably high internal consistency. Scores differed as a function of subjects' reports of their addiction to cigarettes but not as a function of their current smoking status. 15 addicted individuals scored more externally on the new scale than did 24 nonaddicted individuals. There were no differences for scores on the Rotter I-E scale as a function of reported addiction or smoking status. The new scale appears to be a more sensitive measure of locus of control than Rotter's scale. The two locus of control scales were not significantly correlated, indicating their independence. Individuals apparently maintain a distinct locus of control for smoking rather than having a general expectation for control.

Abstract:
This study represents a replication and extension of the work focusing on the relationship between spouses' locus of control expectancies and their level of marital complaints. In the present study, spouses' locus of control orientations were examined with reference to their own and their partners' marital complaints. It was predicted that internality would be positively correlated with one's own marital satisfaction and the satisfaction experienced by one's partner. In addition, it was expected that personality complementarity of a particular type, an external wife/internal husband configuration, would be associated with more complaints. The most consistent result of the study suggests the tendency for wives to have more complaints when paired with a relatively external husband. In addition, the analysis did not support the presence of a personality match or mismatch effect on marital complaints. Noting some of the inconsistencies in the limited data amassed on the role of locus of control in the domain of intimate interpersonal relationships, additional research is indicated before further conclusions are advanced.

Finally, as many as 36 students participated in filling this instrument. In this study, researchers used the Rotters Internal-External Locus of Control (IE Scale) inventory consisting of 29 items, of which there were 6 filler items, so that the total number of items that could be processed was 23 items, while to see learning achievement using the Grade Point Average (GPA) that researchers get from the Academic Information System (SIAKAD). Research findings show that locus of control has a strong negative relationship with student learning achievement. We advise students to have an internal locus of control while continuing to believe in God; The counselor is expected to be able to arrange an intervention program for students who have an external locus of control and have low learning achievement.

Abstract:
ABSTRAK Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini pengaruh dikepemimpinan transformasionall and locuus of coontrol pada PT. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. Kata Kunci : Kepemimpinan Transformasional, Locus Of Control, Efektivitas Kerja. ABSTRACT The problem in this research is the influence of transformational leadership and locuus of control at PT. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. The reason for this research is to find out the impact of groundbreaking and locus of control initiatives on the adequacy of work at PT. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. This study aims to determine the effect of groundbreaking administration and locus of control on the adequacy of work at PT. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. The technique used in this study is a quantitative strategy with the number of tests being tested as many as 55 representatives. Information checking strategies used in this exploration are direct checks, correlation coefficients, certainty coefficients, t-test and f-test using the SPSS 22 for windows program. From the results of the t-test research, it shows that there is no groundbreaking authority (X1) with an immaterial value of 0.04 < 0.05, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is recognized. So it is very possible to reason that there is a big impact of breakthrough initiatives on work continuity. While the locus of control variable on representative execution insight (X2) with a very large value of 0.00 < 0.05, it means that Ho is removed and Ha is recognized, so it can be assumed that to some extent the locus of control affects job continuity. The results of the F test conversation as a whole got a large value of 0.00 < 0.05, meaning that Ho was rejected and Ha was recognized. So it is very possible to reason that there is a critical impact between breakthrough initiatives and locus of control on the continuity of work at PT. Tunas Auto Graha Palembang. Keywords: Transformational Leadership, Locus Of Control, Work Effectiveness.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical evidence about whether locus of control, professional commitment, time budget pressure, client importance, turnover intention, and personality type (type A) has an influence on dysfunctional audit behavior moderated by religious control on the influence of locus of control and professional commitment on dysfunctional audit behavior. The population in this study are auditors who work in public accounting firms in Indonesia. The sample selection technique is purposive sampling. Based on the sample selection criteria, the number of samples collected were 86 auditors. Those data are analyzed using multiple linear regressions analysis. The result of this study shows that locus of control has a positive effect on dysfunctional audit behavior. It means that the higher the locus of control, the higher the probability of dysfunctional audit behavior. Auditors tend to perform dysfunctional audit behavior when they face pressure in doing their job. The pressure can come from time, superiors, supervisors, or audit managers which are external factors. Professional commitment, time budget pressure, client importance, turnover intention, locus of control moderated by religious control, and professional commitment moderated by religious control do not effect dysfunctional audit behavior. This study also showed that religious control does not moderate the relationship between locus of control and professional commitment with dysfunctional audit behavior.

Abstract:
Two studies were conducted to determine whether sadists (dominants), masochists (submissives) and versatiles (those who state that they enjoy both the sadistic and masochistic roles) possess similar or different attitudes toward control, as measured by Rotter's Internal vs External Locus of Control Inventory and Burger and Cooper's Desirability of Control inventory. Sadomasochists, as a group, scored within the internal locus of control category. There were no differences among the three subgroups. The second study indicated all three groups possess a high desire for control. Planned comparisons among the three groups showed sadists had a higher desire for control than versatiles, while versatiles showed a higher desire for control than masochists. The data are interpreted as support for observational and descriptive studies which have identified (at least) three distinct subgroups of sadomasochists.

Abstract:
Study participants were 120 diabetic men on insulin who completed Rotter's Locus of Control Scale. Control of diabetes was measured with a score derived from five-point weighted scales for hemoglobin A1, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride, and cholesterol. Baseline and six-month locus of control scores were correlated with metabolic control at six and 12 months. Results showed that an internal locus was associated with poorer control of the disease at six and 12 months, with correlations stronger at six months than at 12 months, when control was slightly worse. It may be that externally controlled individuals are more receptive to medical instructions and comply more readily than internal pa tients who take charge of their lives through self-controlling behaviors. A more thorough understanding of internally oriented diabetic patients is necessary to design educational programs that would guide these self-regulated persons toward better control of their illness.

Abstract:

Abstract:
To investigate the influence that situation-specific expertise might have on locus of control, 387 student/athletes completed Rotter's locus of control and the Dahlhauser Sports Locus of Control inventory. Analysis supported the hypothesis that subjects' expertise within a situation-specific environment will yield a locus of control score significantly more internalized than scores on the more general Rotter instrument. The authors conclude that personal expertise must be taken into account in research dealing with the construct of control. Further, research tailored more specifically to the situation is needed.

Abstract:
Background: Adherence to diabetes control is important to determine an individual’s ability to maintain treatment focus of Diabetes Mellitus . The Locus of Control thereby assesses the behavior of an individual to diabetes control. Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the pathways of diabetes control beliefs based on the variable locus of control in the integration of locus of control theory and the theory of planning behavior on diabetes mellitus control behavior. Methods: This study was carried out as an explanatory research with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique was consecutive. The sample size was determined using multivariate numerical analytic one-time predictive concept framework and 143 respondents at 8 locations were recruited by a random lottery method. Demographic data analysis of respondents was done using statistical software, namely IBM Statistics SPSS using a Chi-square statistical test. The proposed hypothesis was tested by the bivariate analysis of variance to assess the effect of causal variables. Results: The results of this study indicate that locus of control affects diabetic control beliefs (ρ = 0.05; α = 0.06; b = 0.16; b2 = 0.03; F = 3.91) in the diabetes mellitus control behavior. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest a need to consistently provide positive information and support as a locus of control to guard a strong intention to control diabetes mellitus.

Abstract:
BackgroundPrevious studies have examined the role of individuals’ personal characteristics in diabetes management and used the locus of control theory to assess adherence to a diabetes management regimen. These studies have emphasized that having internal locus of control may be a protective factor in diabetes management.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to determine the predictor effect of locus of control on self-care activities and A1c level.MethodThe study is descriptive and relational. Researchers used a Diabetes Self-Care Activities Scale and a Locus of Control Scale to collect data. The study sample consisted of 129 individuals with type 2 diabetes.ResultsThe average score of locus of control of individuals with diabetes was 10.26, and the frequency of self-care activities in the past week was 2.9 days. A weak but statistically significant negative relation was found between the locus of control level and self-care activities of individuals with diabetes, which had no effect on A1c. It was determined that locus of control predicts 19% of self-care activities.ConclusionAccording to the study results, having internal locus of control had positive effects on self-care activities. Training and planning activities to improve internal locus of control can improve diabetes management.

Abstract:
Abstract One remarkable genetic feature of the class I MHC genes is their unparalleled degree of genetic polymorphism and diversity. The polymorphism is reflected by the fact that multiple loci encode class I molecules, and for each locus there are multiple alleles. In the course of investigating the regulation of HLA-A and HLA-B mRNA in human colorectal carcinoma cell lines, we have noticed a noncoordinate expression of the HLA mRNA in some of these cell lines. This observation prompted us to make use of these cell lines to study the locus-specific transcriptional regulation of HLA genes. Bandshift and footprint assays revealed at least three distinct and independent DNA-binding factors that bind to the core regulatory element of the HLA-A and HLB-B gene locus. A "novel" DNA-binding factor recognizing the CCAAT motif seems to be important for locus-specific expression of HLA-A mRNA, whereas a different factor which binds to a Sp1-like sequence is crucial for normal HLA-B mRNA expression. In certain colorectal cancer cell lines, underrepresentation of these locus-specific DNA-binding proteins correlates with the locus-specific down-regulation of HLA mRNA. This observation is further supported by experiments which demonstrated that the locus-specific suppression of exogenously introduced TK-chloramphenicol acetyltransferase DNA constructs, containing the "putative" HLA locus-specific DNA core regulatory sequence, is regulated in a locus-specific manner when introduced into these HLA-A- and HLA-B-deficient human colorectal cell lines.
