Abstract:
At first sight, Martin (1995) provides a promising reductionist account of the first-personal character of bodily ownership in spatial terms: it is sufficient to feel sensations as being located in a part of one’s body to experience this body part as one’s own. There is nothing over and above the location of the sensations. However, Martin’s view fails to account for the following two puzzles. First, one generally experiences no ownership towards tools although one can feel some sensations as being located in them. Secondly, one can experience a sense of disownership towards one’s own limbs despite still feeling sensations in them. What these puzzles reveal is that we should not confuse the feeling of bodily presence and the feeling of bodily ownership: one can be aware of the body as a bounded object in a larger space without being aware of it qua one’s own body

Reduction mammoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to decrease breast size. Breast parenchyma and skin are resected, and the nipple is repositioned to a more superior location on the smaller breast mound. The goals of the procedure are to alleviate a variety of physical and psychological complaints. Because women with a history of reduction surgery are commonly seen for screening mammography and other breast imaging studies, it is important to be aware of the normal post-operative appearance. This chapter, appearing in the section on intervention and surgical change, reviews the key imaging and clinical features, imaging protocols and pitfalls, differential diagnoses, and management recommendations for reduction mammoplasty. Topics discussed include clinical indications, surgical technique, and benign post-operative changes, including scars, oil cysts, fat necrosis, and calcifications.

Across the developed world, services for those with mental disorder in prison have been established but are seldom equivalent to those found in the community. Prisoners are largely the socio-economically deprived with high rates of mental disorder. They have often been victimized. Prisons are our new asylums. In the United States three times as many mentally ill people are in prison than in psychiatric hospital. It is essential that whatever our geographical location, we learn from other jurisdictions and other systems. Rates of imprisonment, organization of psychiatric services, and location of treatment of mentally disordered offenders all vary; and it is easy to fall into the trap of assuming that the system with which you are familiar is the right one. There are major differences across the world in terms of rates of imprisonment, place of treatment of acutely ill prisoners, and the structure of our mental health services in prisons. Those requiring hospital care should be transferred out of prison for this. Independence of health services from correctional services would promote the development of the former. One challenging issue for correctional psychiatry in some jurisdictions is capital punishment and psychiatrists ethically should have no role in executions and be aware of the ethical stance of the World Psychiatric Association. This chapter examines correctional psychiatry in an international context and explores similarities and differences in our practices, and the cultural, political, and economic background to these.

This text explores the economic history and economic potential of Indigenous peoples in Canada. It discusses which institutional arrangements hold them back economical and which institutions assist them going forward, and considers which norms do Indigenous communities hold that inform their priorities and economic behaviour. <> Chapters 1 and 2 introduce the Indigenous Peoples of Canada – First Nations, Métis and Inuit – and their current demographic and income statistics. Chapters 3-12 describe their cultures, economies and geopolitics up until the late twentieth century. Chapters 13 and 14 discuss how discrimination against minorities can be modeled and measured. Finally, Chapters 15+ describe present-day issues in the economic development of Indigenous communities. <> Note for Instructors: Instructors may wish to begin the term of study with presentations or readings on the peoples indigenous to the school’s location. As the course progresses, instructors can lead students to discover how the topics covered in the book apply to local communities past and present. Instructors can also make students aware of local opportunities for Indigenous – non-Indigenous interaction and cooperation. This text flows in chronological order until Chapter 12. Instructors should use their own discretion about whether and when they want to use Chapters 12-14. Chapter 15 picks up the historical thread. The use of talking circles and other discussion forums is recommended, as conversation is a traditional Indigenous teaching method, and the issues covered in this book are emotionally weighty.

Gangs are a fact of life in jails and prisons. The extent and impact of gang activity on a facility will depend upon the size and geographic location of the facility. Smaller jails and prisons, or facilities in rural areas, are more likely to be involved with local or regional groups, also known as street gangs, while large facilities in urban areas will be affected more by nationally known or connected gangs. One survey of Florida prisoners found that inmates who were suspected or confirmed gang members were 35% more likely to commit violent acts than non-members. In a study of 2,158 male inmates in the Arizona Department of Corrections, gang-affiliated inmates were more than twice as likely as nonaffiliated inmates to commit an assault during the first three years of confinement Since institutional management often involves restriction of privileges, placement on long-term segregation, or transfer to a control unit prison, advocacy groups and individual inmates have filed suit against these policies based on First and Eighth Amendment, religious freedom, and anti-discrimination claims. Gang validation procedures themselves have been challenged as arbitrary and inaccurate, leading to inappropriate segregation or restrictions on prisoners who have exhibited no institutional violence. Psychiatrists need to be aware of the dynamics of gang leadership, membership or involvement when working with any gang member, as that will affect their ability and interest in collaborative treatment. These issues and best practices for intervention will be presented in this chapter.

Abstract:
In Pécs due to the continuous development of the town throughout many centuries, there are only few sites where the remains of the Roman town can be excavated and even fewer remains come to light undisturbed. Some archaeological monuments have already been disappeared for good, others are situated under streets and houses unavailable for any archaeological research. In many cases it is not easy to follow what happened to the finds and remains. The mosaic floor that was found in 1841 during the building of a house at 6 Káptalan Street and a Roman burial chamber, observed during canalization in 1927 belong to this category. Some researchers still consider these as they were parts of the same early Christian building. Some authors made mistakes or misinterpreted the sources, because they relied on old, short and inaccurate descriptions of the finds. Either they were not aware of the sources or did not read them carefully. Therefore there are many different opinions in the publications often contradicting each other. Also, the lack of drawings and documentation added to the difficulties of later research, just like the inaccurate observations in some previous publications. In 2011 when we made the illustrations to Pécs Története (History of Pécs town), Volume I, it became evident, that the reconstruction of the mosaics, published in 1984, and the interpretation of the archaeological remains found in 1927 were inaccurate. These Roman remains did not come to light in the same time yet they are connected to each other in so many ways. We have started our research with the examination of both the written sources and the actual archaeological material. Later we have researched the different opinions of earlier publications and only after that were we in the position - with the help of few survived drawings and photos - to re-evaluate the remains and to make an attemp to reconstruct what they might have looked like in Roman times. Our recent research on the finds from 1841 and 1927 started in 2011, when we made a presentation about them for the archaeology PhD students of the University of Pécs for the first time. In accordance with the topic of the semester first we gave an account of our ongoing research regarding the actual size of the mosaics and the location and identification of Burial Chamber X that came to light in 1927. We have also presented the new, amended reconstruction of the mosaics and some of the corrections we have made. We have published our finished research about the building and the mosaics on the 10th of December 2013 at the Morsa Archaelogica Conference in Pécs. We hope that this article helps to answer the questions that emerged or were left unanswered so far about the mosaics and the archaeological remains found in 1927.

Abstract:
At the end of 2019 the world became aware of the existence of a new virus stemming from the Coronaviridae family and causing a specific disease – COVID-19. In less than three months, the virus and its consequences, developed from being a local public health problem in China to a daunting global problem we all had to face. On March 11, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic of COVID-19. On the international scale, even in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the response of the professionals and scientists has been rapid, although not always consistently efficient enough. Despite the selfless cooperation of scientists and practitioners worldwide, countries with developed economies, good public health and a strong scientific system have had the advantage in the fight against the disease over developing countries. Despite the fact that by these criteria BiH is not one of the most resilient countries, so far, its response to the pandemic has seemed to be satisfactory. The Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH) was one of the first institutions of the science system to respond to the pandemic. On the initiative and under the leadership of academician Mirsada Hukić, on March 22, 2020 the development of the project "Epidemic Location Intelligence System (ELIS)" and its Geoportal began on a voluntary basis, with the task of permanently monitoring the spread of COVID-19. Theoretical and professional parts of the project in the areas of medicine, public health and informatics were completed by April 2, 2020. Thanks to the support to the project by the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Šefik Džaferović, the expert system received additional hardware support and was filled in time with data from across the country. This enabled the system to become operational as early as on April 8, 2020. The results of all these efforts are visible in this publication. Initially, the ELIS project was important for the epidemiological and public health area. The abundance of collected data and obtained virus samples enabled the extension of the project idea to the sequencing of viruses found in BiH and their typology. The transition of research to the clinical aspects of COVID-19 is the next phase in the development of the ELIS project. ANUBiH has already started the work on examining the economic and pedagogical consequences of COVID-19 in order to look at this medical phenomenon in the broadest possible context. All the results of ANUBiH in response to the epidemic challenges of COVID-19 are achieved due to the synergistic action of numerous individuals and institutions in different fields of science and public health in cooperation with government. Therefore, I believe that the ELIS project has shown the way to go in solving the burning problems of our society which we will encounter in the future.
