Abstract:
Abstract. Poverty is a well-known and complex issue. Poverty has a bad impact on the poor. Thus, poverty is the duty of society, including the church. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between liturgy and poverty. The homeless liturgy is the phrase selected to describe liturgical practices in the face of poverty. This essay was conducted by socio-liturgical studies and field research. This essay suggests that the homeless liturgy is a manifestation of the church's preference for the poor, which speaks hope-lament, liberation, and promotes transformation.

Abstract:
Abstract: In the church, perfect liturgy is understood as worship’s condition without disruption or mistake. In reality, this perspective often makes some opportunity to discriminate some people from the worship. Research about liturgy, both from theologians, liturgy workers, and scripture text, indicates that the “real” perfect liturgy happens when people participate in daily life. This notion is same as the spirituality of Trinity. This spirituality explains that participation is the form of completeness or perfect God. Therefore, Trinitarian liturgy should show perfect liturgy as active participation from all people in their daily life so that can bring a goodness for others people. Key Words: worship, liturgy, perfect, Trinity, participation, church, daily life. Kata-kata Kunci: ibadah, liturgi, sempurna, Trinitas, partisipasi, gereja, kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract:
The present contribution seeks to address the following fundamental questions at the crossroads of liturgical theology and metaphysics: How is liturgy in the world? What is the fundamental mode of being of the phenomena, events, actions, and experiences commonly referred to as Christian liturgy? How can people be in the liturgy and the liturgy in them? Or is liturgy only something that is performed and not something human beings can become (part of)? How must the liturgy’s apparent ontological capacity for inclusion be understood? How is it that liturgies can include us and, reversely, that we can embody, disseminate and radiate liturgy? The proposal is to use the three interrelated concepts of penetration, permeation, and fermentation to disentangle the complexities involved in these questions and to do that by primarily relying on both a liturgical and a non-liturgical source. Hence the discussion is concretely centered around the intriguing work Qu’est-ce que la liturgie (1914) of Dom Maurice Festugière, an outstanding thinker and representative of the early Liturgical Movement, and a selection of material taken from the Ordo Missae (2008) which is currently in use in the Roman Catholic Church. On the basis of a careful conceptual analysis of these works, a case is made for embracing metaphysics in liturgical studies and theology instead of considering its import as something of the past.

Abstract:
Abstract: Liturgy is a procedure of worship agreed upon and carried out by the church with the aim of worship in the church running smoothly and structured. The significance of liturgy in Christianity manifests God's encounter with the people so that the role of the church in facilitating the liturgy of worship involves the people presenting the renewal of the life of today's generation. The renewal of the lives of the younger generation as concrete evidence is carried out in worship to celebrate and be grateful for the work of salvation that God has done. Ironically, some churches today do not carry out liturgy well. The church does not facilitate well the "encounter" of God with the people through the liturgy of worship. Traditional churches maintain rigid liturgies, which do not suit the tastes of today's generation. The church also prefers seniors to be involved in the ministry. This results in people not feeling God's presence when they worship. This is experienced by today's generation so that they do not experience life renewal. Thus, the researcher focuses on researching the significance of the liturgy in the involvement of the people to bring renewal to the lives of today's generation. This paper aims to find out the impact of the liturgy and the involvement of the people to bring renewal to the lives of today's generation. The writing method used is a qualitative method using a survey. The results show that liturgy and the involvement of the people play an important role in the renewal of the lives of today's generation.

Abstract:
The worship of the people of the Javanese Christian Church cannot be separated from the liturgy. The liturgy gives an introduction, views, and attitudes of the Christian faith to the Javanese Christian Church amid its existence. Throughout the history of the MPD liturgies, the I, II, III, and lectionary variations of the I and II liturgical models have been developed. The process of birth and development of the GKJ liturgy are important elements of research to find an explanation, why GKJ people still have a distance from the realities of life that exist in society. The results found in this study indicate that the GKJ liturgy that has been built has not been placed on the reality of the struggle and hopes of the people amid community and cultural life. The current GKJ's view of the liturgy has a similar meaning to the religious rituals of the people that shape the identity of the people, but there is no critical step capability to build up their worship with praxis so that it can be lived in and have an impact on the lives of the people and the community.

Abstract:
AbstractThe year of 2023 is a year full of challenges. The pandemic of Covid-19 is almost gone yet the Russian aggression against Ukraine just started its second year and this has been involving more countries and causing significant global setback. Ecological problem has been aggravated by series of recent natural calamities. And Indonesia itself has entered a political year. Amid this crisis, which sources of hoperemain? Are there liturgical celebrations that would generate hope and empowerment? This article will focus on a hope-generating liturgy. This paper uses Michelle Baker-Wright’s theory that develops the liturgy of hope as a public work. Through a literature study with a critical analysis method, the author explores the meaning of hope from Moltmann and Suharyo. This research will present a meaning of liturgy of hope, its theological dimensions, and the elements of liturgy of hope that must be considered. A Christian liturgy is itself a celebration of hope rooted in an Easter faith.

Abstract:
Abstract. The phenomenon of the Pentecostal liturgical movement has been shown to significantly change the face of Christianity globally. The most effective particularity for this movement is its liturgical style which is relevant and connected to contemporary culture. Pentecostal creative liturgy has proven to be a contributing factor in the development of this movement. However, along with the development and growth of the Pentecostal movement, implied a shift in focus from missionary goals to individual goals in the liturgy of worship. This is certainly a challenge for the Pentecostal Church in revitalizing its liturgy. This study used qualitative research methods by utilizing various data from literature studies. This paper aimed to construct the concept of proflexion which was initiated by Joas Adiprasetya in revitalizing the Pentecostal liturgy. The results showed that the concept of proflection is in line with the vitality of the Pentecostal liturgical movement at this time.Abstrak. Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis is a constructive work in theology. The aim is to show the centrality of liturgy for theological investigation, exposing how liturgical action at once shapes and gives rise to theological articulation and also manifests an implicit theology. The meaning is in the making, as it were, and this thesis seeks to show the descriptive nature of theology and liturgy as that which makes all theology possible. What is liturgy? Following the earliest usage of leitourgia in the ancient world, and especially as articulated by Saint Paul, Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, and Irenaeus, I show that the Church’s earliest articulation of liturgical action bears an implied ontology of participation, namely in the singular liturgical action of Christ. Liturgy is not, therefore, to be defined or understood as “the work of the people,” but rather as the “work of the One for the sake of the many,” in which all of creation participates. I argue that the human is to be understood as a liturgical animal who by virtue of her being(-)created is incorporated into the Liturgy God is. I also argue that liturgy names the inter-offering of the Persons of the Trinity, whereby each hypostasis exists as mutually constituting and constituted. The human’s participation in this liturgical action is a participation of the whole person, mediated by the materials and movements involved in the liturgical action—liturgy as the mediation of the divine economy. I also show how late medieval liturgical reforms issue a gradual and unwarranted relegation of the laity’s involvement in the liturgical action. Although inadvertent, this continual extraction of lay participation serves to secularize their role and extract them from the economy to which the liturgy is meant to assimilate. All of this is to expose how the liturgical action, which was vastly influential to the social imaginary of the medieval world, construes and conditions the human more and more along a secular line. Additionally, it is to recover the essential nature of liturgical action for social construction. Indeed, liturgical action as social construction—the embodying of the reciprocal and mutually constituting life of God in whose image the human is created and to whose Being, through Christ the Liturgy, the human has been assimilated, is being-assimilated, and will be assimilated.

This project is a Catholic church located in downtown Blacksburg, VA. Whereas many religious buildings seem to rely heavily on iconography in order to designate the building as sacred, this project explicitly seeks an architectural expression of the liturgy that exists independently, but not necessarily to the exclusion of, iconography. Also present in this investigation is the idea of distilling the architectural ideas from traditional elements of church design and applying them in a more modern context.

Henderson, Donna. "Liturgy| A common ground for ecumenism." Thesis, Regent University, 2013. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=1522759.

Full text
Abstract:

This work explores the ecumenical aspects of liturgy and how it can provide a common ground by which ecumenism can develop. Though different denominations may have varying characteristics to their liturgy the commonalities are striking. Liturgy can cross denominational and doctrinal boundaries. Whether a group adheres to transubstantiation or to representation, when the believer partakes in the bread and wine there is no question that it is Jesus Christ whom they remember. The Scriptures also cross denominational lines and does not depend upon one particular doctrinal viewpoint from which it must be read or heard. Baptism, whether by immersion or sprinkling, has been debated throughout the centuries yet is still a sacrament for most. Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of worship are equally as trans-denominational. Liturgy not only transcends denominations but links the contemporary church with the Church throughout the ages.

The lecture introduces the process of a unique construction –a church- conceived in exposed white concrete, with a very defined texture and with desire to become part of a contemporary line of sacred architecture. Transforming difficulty into opportunity became the projectÅLs motto, to cope with the crisis that started in 2008. This is the narration of the process of renunciations that where necessarily made for its construction, and how this scarcity gave way to the experimenting with concrete to produce some of the elements of the Liturgy, including the altar, which will become the synthesis of the project.

Abstract:
ON THE EARLIEST TOPOGRAPHY OF THE SEVEN SAINTS CULT (Summary) The current research traces and summarizes the information about the historical persons from the circle of the Seven Saints, paying special attention to the distinction between mention, enumeration and grouping. Various historical evidences are examined as focal memory points of a conjoint cult of the Seven Saints – some of them are literature sources – the Prologue life of St. John Vladimir (1690), the Berat liturgy for Seven Saints (c. 1720) and the Moschopol liturgy for Seven Saints (1742), other sources are artefacts – eight wall paintings, three icons, a carved medallion and three reliquaries. Based on the mentioned sources, the earliest topography of the Seven Saints cult is outlined, and the individual monuments are presented in their geographical, cultural-historical, and architectural context. There is an emphasis on the fact that the historical evidences of the early stage of the propagation of the Seven Saints cult derive from a relatively limited geographical area – the lands of the Berat diocese and its immediate surroundings. The images from Dratcha monastery (1735) and from the church “St. Prophet Elijah” in Siatista (1744) are rather exceptions. As a conclusion, it is noticed that the language of the entire described tradition, including both the three written monuments and the numerous images and artefacts, is Greek. This tradition cannot yet be recognized as a genuine Bulgarian national initiative of the revival type, but rather is a regional post-Byzantine cult that arose in the southwestern regions of the Ochrid Archdiocese in a multi-ethnic environment with a dominant cultural Hellenism. The artefacts preserved to present days, which are probably only a part of those actually created, testify to the inclusion of the Seven Saints in the sacral pantheon of the Ochrid Archdiocese, thereby raising its ecclesiastical authority and supporting its historical pretensions to canonical independence. The tendencies observed in the perspective of the cult development in the second half of the 19th century are the gradual transfer to the east and northeast to the lands of Macedonia, more compactly populated with Bulgarians, and the appearance of images bringing to the fore the creation of the Bulgarian alphabet.

Abstract:
In the paper, we present the theological views of the Metropolitan Jovan Zizioulas on chanting in the Liturgy and consider their signifi- cance for the area of Systematic Theology. By examining the relationship between chanting and the iconic nature of the Eucharist, Metropolitan Jovan points to the eschatological origin of Eucharistic chanting, and thus the chanting of the Church as the acceptance of God’s gift. Since the Word of God, hymns, and psalmody originate from the eschaton, church chanting represents an integral part of the event of the “com- munity of saints”, or the “brightness and brilliance of the eschaton” that the Eucharist brings to the liturgical assembly. The knowledge of the doxological spirit of church chanting is a result of one’s openness to ac- cepting God’s gift of salvation, rather than individual strain occurring within biological and religious emotions. As an element of Orthodox Tradition, chanting testifies to a faith that anticipates the resurrection of the body and perceives its church dogmas as arising from human free choice to participate in the way of the Triune God’s existence. With few words directly devoted to church chanting, Metropolitan Jovan Ziziou- las manages to illuminate Eucharistic chanting as a relevant theological topic. This, within contemporary theological thought, opens the pos- sibility for the first time to re-examine the notion of church chanting as a natural, universal, and therefore ontologically insignificant activ- ity of homo religiosus.

Abstract:
Taking into account the fact that the acolouthy of the Footwashing on Maundy Thursday had been formed in Jerusalem, probably during 5th Century, the existence of this rite in Typicon of Nicodemus, Archbishop of Serbia (1316- 1324), is an inspiring subject for liturgiological research. Although this acolouthy is well-known in Greek as Ὁ νιπτὴρ or τὸ νίμμα, we have approached to this topic by theological and teleturgical studying of its origin. The roots of this rite lie in the early centuries of Christianity, with various additions, deletions and variations of the specific acolouthy in use even nowadays in some of the centers of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The acolouthy of the Footwashing on Maundy Thursday has been shaped in 10th Century in two different modalities, one for the urban churches, and another one for the monastic churches at the Orthodox East. The rite from Typicon of Nicodemus (1319) belongs to the group of monastic acolouthies with direct impact of liturgical praxis of the Holy City of Jerusalem and Constantinopolitan monasteries. It implies that should be performed immediately after the Ambo prayer on Maundy Thursday’s Holy Liturgy in the pronaos of the monastic church. Such an acolouthy had retained some aspects of the earlier prayer for the sanctification of the water for the footwashing and also rubric for the anointing of all assembled in the church. The acolouthy of the Footwashing on Maundy Thursday in Typicon of Nicodemus is very important testimony about vivid and strong liturgical life of the Eastern Orthodox Serbs and Archbishopric of the Serbian and Maritime Lands in the 14th Century.

Abstract:
Fresco-composition, painted above the entrance of the katholikon of Žiča monastery, represents a unique scene within Serbian monumental painting from the beginning of the second decade of 14th century. This carefully thought-up picture illustrates a Christmas' Hymn which ascribes to the authorship of John of Damaskus. However, verses written on the arc, above the composition, are associated with poems of Anatoly of Constatinopole’s poetic content. Decora- tion of the entrance consists of clearly expressed theme of the portal, therefore it can be said that frescoes obviously indicate activities that could have been happening inside this space, to be precise in front of the temple’s entrance. It is important to analyze mention verses written on the arc, which belong to the poem that’s sung on the first day of the celebration of Christmas, when, it is believed, monarch himself attended. In the upper part of the composition, we can see The Mother of God on the throne with Child, surrounded by Angels, Shepherds and the Magi with their gifts. They are joined with a fragment of historic content, which additionally completes the complexity of the painting. In the lower part of the fresco-composition, there are visible two ceremonial proseccions moving towards each other. On the left side, beneath the Magi, we can see a group of cantors, monks, priesthood led by archbishop Sava III. On the right, beneath the Shephards, there is Court Retinue led by King Milutin. All participants of this saint cortege are painted wearing rich vestments with apparent attributes that define them. There are clear indications of taking over and transmitting Constantionopoli- tan models within the painting subject of gate entrance as the emphasized place as part of the ruling adventus. It is obvious that it is about iconography shaped by forceful influence of liturgy, theological literature of Incarnation, specifically the influence of hymnography in shaping different artistic models that had been growing in the Empire of Palaiologos and the land of king Milutin.

Abstract:
Spodoptera litura is an agricultural pest that attacks almost all types of herbaceous plants, especially vegetable commodities. Spodoptera litura causes serious damage during the immature or larval stage. The attack of Spodoptera litura larvae can cause significant losses to farmers. To deal with these pests, they still use chemicals that have a negative effect on the environment. Therefore, a good solution is required by utilizing biological agents to control agricultural insect pests. It is an alternative strategy that is more environmentally friendly than the use of chemical pesticides. Research on the use of biocontrol agents as biological control agents for insect pests is still being pursued, one of which is the use of entomopathogenic microorganisms. Biological control using entomopathogenic bacteria is an alternative strategy that is effective and environmentally friendly compared to the use of synthetic insecticides. This study aims to determine the mortality rate from the use of organic waste and bacteria against pathogenic pests Spodoptera litura and to determine the activity of pathogenic pests Spodoptera litura after treatment. This study begins with observations to determine the log phase of bacterial growth by culturing bacteria. The tested bacterial cultures were grown on nutrient broth media so that the bacteria were observed and counted using a hemocytometer method to determine the contact time. The next step was to make nutrient broth liquid media and sterilize using an autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Prepare organic waste of coconut water and 10% molasses to be contacted between the substrate and bacteria. Spodoptera litura was collected from Keputran Market Surabaya - Indonesia every day. Spodoptera litura was treated with biopesticide and mustard greens once at t = 0 hours and the activity and mortality rates were observed at 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours. The results showed that the best variable in % mortality was the consortium of bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus cereus, Pseudomonas fluorescens, and the bacterial community of Sidoarjo mud and a mixture of organic waste coconut water with a pathogenicity value of LT50 for 22 hours and mortality rate at 100%.
