Abstract:
The paper sheds light on the most important documents of the Council of Europe, the European Union and UNESCO in the field of media literacy implementation. The representation of media education in Europe was achieved by a descriptive-analytical method and an analysis of the content of national curricula, as well as reports on media literacy. The goal of this desk research is to identify common features of the most successful implementation examples. The results of the research show that the most successful European models have been implemented in the educational systems of France, Great Britain, Finland and Slovenia. The implementation of media literacy in the curriculum is a process whose success depends on the continuum of media literacy in the education system, the professional qualifications of teachers for media education and methodological approaches to teaching.

Abstract:
Media literacy education is not as advanced in the US as in several other English-speaking areas such as Great Britain, Canada, and Australia. Despite decades of struggle since the 1970s by individuals and groups, media education is still only reaching a small percentage of Americans. While some major inroads have been made, such as getting elements of media literacy included in most of the 50 state's educational standards and the launching of two national media education organizations, most teachers and students in the United States still have never heard of media literacy. In this paper, we first set forth some models of media literacy, delineate key concepts of critical media literacy, and then examine some of the most active organizations in the United States and differences in their goals and pedagogy.

Eve Gregory's book fills a void in literacy education for bilingual students. This text provides solid theory, useful resources, and practical teaching suggestions for literacy development in a second language for young children. Describing the multilingual, multicultural complexity of early schooling in Great Britain, Gregory provides a strong rationale for her views of early literacy training, both formal and informal, for “emergent bilinguals”—children who are “the first generation in their family to receive formal schooling in the new country, who do not speak the language of the host country at home, and who are consequently at the early stages of second language learning” (p. 8).

Abstract:
A brief listing of five different types of mathematical literacy is provided. The definition used by the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is selected and some brief remarks are provided on this program. The performance of Australian students is examined which shows that at the beginning of the new century 2000, Australian educators were feeling comfortable and reasonably satisfied with student performance but by 2016there was great concern over a consistent decline. The reasons for this decline are briefly discussed with the focus on Australian governmental policies that followed the directions of reform in the United States and Great Britain, and what has been labelled GERM. Current policies have been tried and failed and it is time to look for alternatives. While it is not wise to just copy the programs and policies of another country rather than adapt them due to differences in culture, population diversity, and other factors, nevertheless countries such as Finland can offer alternative paths to be explored. In Australia’s case it would also seem to be unwise to adopt policies and programs of countries who perform worse than it.

Abstract:
The article analyses the state of technology education integration in economically developed foreign countries in accordance with today’s requirements. The world’s leading trends in the context of providing comprehensive, equitable, and quality technology education as one of the leading goals of sustainable development, approved by the United Nations, are considered. The structure of technology education in Germany and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is described; features of technology education integration in France are considered. The importance of technological literacy and technological competence for the development of modern education, in general, is substantiated. The experience of such economically developed countries as Germany, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, and others shows that professional training for work in various fields is carried out today with the help of various educational disciplines. The content of these disciplines is a synthesis of new knowledge about nature, technology, and human activity in all spheres of life. Different terms of technology education are considered as synonyms of one universal goal of labour training by the world scientific and pedagogical community. It is the formation of students’ technological literacy through the development of knowledge and understanding of technology, developing technical skills, and understanding the links between technology and society. The main purpose of primary pupils’ technology education in these countries is the formation of technological literacy and technological competence. A characteristic trend of the studied countries is that the previously existing labor training in school, based only on the study of materials, tools, and technological processes of materials processing, is considered insufficient and outdated. Thus, the educational process in economically developed countries means primarily students who study changes in technology, and knowledge in this area should be flexible and provide a wide range of applications. Specific emphasis in the curriculum is made on practical activities, which include the following methods: work with means of labour; design product research; excursions and observations; project development; practical assessment; and history of technology development.

Abstract The efforts around the world – CS4All in the U.S. or Computing At School in Great Britain – show that computing literacy is seen as important. One important part of computer science education deals with learning programming. So, object orientation should be in focus. But what is object orientation? Several different definitions are presented, and a definition of object orientation by its fundamental concepts is introduced. Furthermore, several educational “paradigms” are discussed. Additionally, a choice of object-oriented programming languages is presented. After all that theoretical background, some exemplary implementations of object orientation in national (German) and international curricula are shown. All in all, the article provides a broad overview of the topic of object-oriented programming in computer science education.

Abstract:
The author of the article considers and characterizes the main current trends in the development of school education in the UK. The author describes the necessary skills of the XXI century for students of secondary schools in Great Britain and the conditions of their formation. These are skills such as: joint problem solving, responsibility, critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, cooperation, decision making, IT skills, self-regulation, communication, flexibility and adaptability, respect, information and economic literacy, etc. The author also describes the so-called soft skills (flexible) and hard skills (hard). The article notes the role of the 21st century teacher, which today cannot be limited to knowledge transfer, but to focus, discuss and, of course, evaluate students' progress so that they know when more support is needed, as today's innovative schools design classes for knowledge. , not its transportation. It is argued that modern and relevant and key skills of the 21st century include: problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, decision making, IT skills, self-regulation, communication, respect, information and economic literacy, which in turn require appropriate teaching methods of the 21st century. The role of teachers can no longer be limited to knowledge transfer, but should be well-guided, discussed and, of course, evaluated by students' progress so that they know when more support is needed. Today, innovative schools design classrooms for the pursuit of knowledge, not its transportation.

Abstract:
The study was formulated within the context of an increasing recognition of ICT as curriculum priorities in primary schools of many European countries. The implementation of ICT-centered curriculum is a step towards realizing the goals of the new Law of Ukraine “On Education” (2017), National Strategy for the Development of Education in Ukraine until 2021, European strategic programme “Education and Training 2020”. Actuality of approaches to ICT implementation in present-day primary schools is caused by the substantial development of digital technologies and requirement of digital literacy for people’s work, social, and personal lives. The unique opportunity of primary education as a large sub-sector of any education system is to contribute to the renewal of societies through education of the young. The paper aims to study implementation of Computer science into national standard of primary education in Ukraine and the UK. In the recent years, many European countries have seen some changes of the content one of which relates to the area of computer science education that resulted in implementing an ambitious new curriculum in this subject. The author gives a comparative analysis of primary ICT within national standards in term of the Computer science development from the initial stage to present day situation. The comparative analysis specifies areas of similarities (aims, objectives, approaches to implementation, priorities of developing digital skills, teaching hours) and differences (programme topics, characterization of learning outcomes) in the study of ICT covering the subject content, expected learning results and general principles of ICT in education, as well as examples of ICT implementation. The paper is also focused at discussing the role of the ICT curriculum in modern-day primary classroom; advantages and disadvantages of ICT integration at primary stage. Much attention is paid to how it is integrated into daily learning modes to allow and encourage active learning. In primary education there are two main models of ICT implementation into curriculum, these are: ICT integrated across the curriculum; ICT (or Informatics, Computer Science and Computing) as a discrete subject within national standard.

One of the disturbing trends of our time is the decline in interest in reading all over the world, despite its obvious importance and irreplaceability. The reasons for this negative trend have not yet been fully investigated. The presented review gives a high assessment of V.P. Chudinova’s book “Development of ‘Nations of Readersʼ in Different Countries of the World: Studies, Strategies, Projects, Practices” (2022). The publication contains the analysis of the situation with the support of childrenʼs reading in different countries of the world, as well as characterizes international programs of this profile. V.P. Chudinovaʼs work is based on the reliable materials of large-scale studies, including comparative ones that greatly increases the objectivity of the book. Much attention is paid to the support of childrenʼs and family reading by major international organizations: UNESCO, IFLA and the International Literacy Association. In separate chapters, the author considers promotion of reader literacy in the advanced countries of the world — Japan, Singapore, China and Great Britain. Along with the previously published textbook “Library and Information Services for Children and Youth Abroad” (2012), the new book by V.P. Chudinova has made a big step in highlighting the problem of supporting childrenʼs reading at the level of international organizations and the most successful countries in this regard. The considered subject may be linked to the “Sustainable Development Goals” adopted in 2015 by the UN General Assembly as a plan for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.

Abstract:
Just before coming to the conference on the Relation between English and Foreign Languages in the Academy, I saw an exhibit at the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum in Santa Fe titled Who Stole the Teepee? Combining historic with contemporary objects, the exhibit probed not only the theft of tradition announced in its title but the possibility that “we” (Native Americans) or “our ancestors” had been more than willing to sell it. Such speculative reflection resonates with the way in which we who study East Asia have dealt with our relatively stable isolation: while complaining of language and literature colleagues' indifference, if not contempt, toward our endeavors, we have also prided ourselves on the difficulty of our languages and the ancientness of our civilizations, the source of an arcane body of knowledge requisite for even basic literacy. If all foreign language and literature scholars feel subordinate to the empire of English, East Asianists are not only beyond the pale but are often proud of it. Underlying this orientation is an important historical feature: even allowing for the mixed case of China, this region was not colonized by Great Britain. This has meant that it lacks a bourgeoisie that grew up speaking English. I shall return to colonial history below.

Abstract:
Modern Karen education began in the early 1800s when introduced by British and American missionaries at roughly the time the British colonial powers arrived from India. After independence from Great Britain in 1948, Burma faced revolt from ethnic groups including the Karen, in large part, over issues of language and cultural self-rule. This led to the forcible closing of Karen-language schools by the military junta beginning in the 1960s and the re-establishment of Karen schooling by the Karen National Union (KNU) in independent self-rule territories, often near the Thai border. In this context, beginning in the 1980s, Karen-medium language spread into the highlands of Burma and into Thai refugee camps where Karen had been living for nearly four decades. Karen medium education is an important element establishing what Benedict Anderson called the “imagined community”. With mass Karen literacy, a national consciousness emerged, particularly in areas where schools were sustained. This separate consciousness is at the heart of the Karen of Kawthoolei. The Karen Education and Culture Department (KECD) was established in 1947 by the KNU. Karen schools provide mother-tongue-based education. Much of the development of the Karen medium curricula was undertaken by the KECD, and it is significantly different from that of the Burmese government’s curriculum, particularly in terms of language medium, literature, and history. Karen schooling reflects the Karen political consciousness, which will be at the heart of any peace agreements negotiated in the still-ongoing Burmese Civil War.

Abstract:
In today’s conditions, when small and medium-sized businesses need significant financial investment support in Ukraine, it is P2P plaffers that can act as an effective credit tool that will represent an alternative to existing banks. Over the world, P2P and P2B ecosystems have already been created, standardized and are actively used to stimulate the economy. The purpose of the article is to study the foreign experience in the development of the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) crediting system to isolate and further take into account the possible potentially positive and negative effects of the promotion and distribution of P2P platforms in the financial market in Ukraine. P2P crediting is considered as one of the fastest growing forms of investment without the participation of credit institutions, but which is currently experiencing a legal vacuum due to the lack of special regulations that will establish the legal status, rights, obligations, responsibilities and guarantees of participants in mutual financing. The formation of peer-to-peer crediting in some countries, such as Great Britain, the USA, China, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Estonia, is analyzed. Based on the carried on analysis, it was determined that abroad the P2P crediting system is in the state of constant development. As a result of the study, it was determined that this type of crediting has good prospects for development in Ukraine. The main proposals for accelerating the paces of development of P2P crediting are highlighted as follows: creating a stable and balanced regulatory framework; continuation of work to improve the financial literacy of the population (in terms of awareness of P2P crediting); creation of incentives for cooperation of traditional financial institutions with crowdlanding platforms in order to increase the level of cooperation and interaction of financial market participants.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the specificity of artistic and visual techniques used by the British creators of animated films, using the example of the paintings "Shaun the Sheep" and "Van Gogh. Love, Vincent." The object of research is the artistic animation of Great Britain at the beginning of the XXI century. The article reveals the trends of British animation in recent years by analyzing the elements of the visual series of cartoons created using the expressive means of classical art. The works considered in the article demonstrate the author's approaches of modern British directors in relation to the artistic and figurative solution of cartoons related to various types of fine art, for example, sculpture in plasticine animation and oil painting. The aim is to identify and characterize the visual techniques in British cartoons of the early 21st century. The research methodology presents the greatest difficulty, since it has not been fully developed in relation to the characteristics of the artistic and visual specifics of animated films, but at the same time opens up opportunities for interdisciplinary analysis. The research uses an art historical analysis, in particular a structural study of the plot and compositional features of animation. The novelty of the research is due to the fact that in Russian science the stated problem remains practically unexplored. For the first time, the paintings "Shaun the Sheep" and "Van Gogh. With love, Vincent" are considered from the point of view of means of artistic expression and in terms of meaning formation. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that modern British animation proceeds by creating films in which visual arts are actively involved. This sets a high level of performance of paintings, because it requires the authors to have impeccable command of visual literacy, which allows them to achieve maximum expressiveness of images. It is likely that in the future, reliance on the artistic language of classical art and the manual labor of animators will continue to form as a specific feature of British animation.

Abstract:
Purpose. Development of a scientific and methodological approach for creating a phase depiction of a cybercrime victim by identifying significant personified characteristics. Methodology. In the process of research, methods of systematization, comparison, grouping, logical generalization, bibliometric analysis, regression analysis (the method of sigma-limited parameterization), and the algorithm of associative rules were used. Findings. According to the results of the research, it was established that the countries with the highest rates of cyber fraud in the field of financial services include Luxembourg (15%), France (14%), Great Britain (13%) and Denmark (11%) are among. In 2020, on average, every 10th resident of the European Union became a cyber victim when performing financial transactions. The results of an empirical analysis using the algorithm of associative rules showed that in 100% of the analyzed cases of cyber fraud in the field of financial services among European residents, stable patterns are found between the following parameters: a married woman who raises three children, a woman aged 5564 years old who raises three children, a married person who periodically experiences financial difficulties and raises three children, a person who lives in a rural area and raises three children, a person aged 6574, who has three children. In addition, the probability for a woman raising three children of becoming a victim of cyber fraud is 87.5%. In 71.4% of cybercrime cases in the field of financial services, a close causal relationship is traced with the following parameters: manual worker who was cyberattacked through a smartphone, a person who periodically experiences financial difficulties and a cyberattack occurred through a smartphone. Originality. The use of profiling technology allows evaluating and predicting the behavior of the financial services consumer in the conditions of the growing risk of cyber fraud based on the systematization and establishment of cause-and-effect relationships between the most informative personalized signs of them. Practical value. The development of a phase depiction of a probable victim of cybercrime in the financial system allows identifying the signs of a cyber threat in the early stages, and immediately reacting to it, thus neutralizing or minimizing the negative consequences. The results of the conducted research will have practical significance for the management of financial institutions and public organizations that specialize in training and raising the level of financial and digital literacy of citizens.

After the publication of "Castle Rackrent" (1800), Maria Edgeworth (1768-1849) became one of the most famous nineteenth-century women writers in Great Britain, and her oeuvre was quickly translated on the Continent. This article analyzes the French translation of Edgeworth’s Irish tale "The Absentee" (1812) within the framework of Descriptive Translation Studies (DTS). For that purpose, both the source and the target text will be contextualized following Itamar Even-Zohar’s ideas on the literary system which is understood as a network of relations between elements depending on each other. As will be shown, the text prepared for the French-speaking readers greatly departs from the original text published in Great Britain, a fact which should be considered by any research on Edgeworth’s reception in Europe.

Abstract:
Princess Elizabeth Bibesco (1897-1945) was the daughter of Sir Herbert Henry Asquith, Prime Minister of Great Britain between 1908 and 1916, and wife of Prince Antoine Bibesco (1878-1951). During the 1920s Bibesco published two novels The Fir and the Palm and There Is No Return which include her into the same spiritual family as the literary impressionists of the time. Critics did not pay too much attention to this novelist of the 1920s who holds, however, a singular place in the literary life of the time. This paper is a close reading of Bibesco’s novels from the 1920 which proves her indebtedness to modernism and literary impressionism.

Abstract:
The analysis of various aspects of the part of the extensive philosophical and literary heritage of the English Protestant preacher Reginald John Campbell (1867–1956), which is devoted to the events of the First World War and the participation of Great Britain in it, is represented. His works, on the one hand, serve as a living document of an era still incomplete at the time of their writing; on the other hand, they represent philosophical and theological reflections in this context. At the same time, they are quite significant insights into social processes that went far beyond questions of faith, and even an attempt to predict structural changes in public life after the end of the Great War. This multi-dimensionality creates a rather interesting ‘stereoscopic’ picture of events, perceived by an influential, original, highly educated religious figure, who at the time of the creation of the corpus of texts under consideration was already a mature and insightful person. The author of the article attempts to reveal the versatility of R. J. Campbell’s judgments, immersed in the context of the events of the era, which is of interest to researchers of Church history and public life in Great Britain during this period.

Aesthetic and editorial value of “Oficyna Poetów” — a magazine published in London between 1966 and 1980“Oficyna Poetów” was aliterary and cultural magazine published in London by Polish-born émigré couple, Krystyna and Czesław Bednarczyk. After World War II they settled in Great Britain, and almost immediately started private printing press. That periodical was one of their biggest projects. “Oficyna…” was one of few magazines published abroad devoted to Polish literature and art. During communism era it was aplace where Polish authors could publish not being afraid of repercussions or censorship. The magazine also integrated Polish intelligentsia around the world and was some kind of alternative for “Kultura” published in Paris. During the years the owners of “Oficyna Poetów iMalarzy” developed their skills and machine park of the press. Struggling from low budget and lack of support they still managed to maintain very high aesthetical level of their hand-made prints. The article is devoted to graphic and typographic form of the periodical. The Bednarczyks were editors, designers, typesetters and printers at the same time. They put great effort in selection of paper, print quality and acquired the most talented émigré illustrators to cooperate in “Oficyna…”. Aesthetic form of the magazine, as well as its cultural impact on Polish society in Great Britain can be sapid for researchers interested in emigration culture, literary magazines and niche printing movement in Great Britain.

Abstract:
Abstract: While Great War scholars have recently recovered colonial texts, they seldom use those texts to reassess the English Great War canon. Mulk Raj Anand's depiction of Indian experience in Across the Black Waters highlights the imperial dimensions of English texts from the Great War. The novel depicts Indian soldiers first as travelers through Europe before narrating their experiences of displacement in the horrors of the trenches. This shift calls attention to the English canon's depictions of soldiers' mobility, which similarly shift from travel in initial military mobilization to displacement in the violence of warfare. Across the Black Waters rewrites this characteristic shift to reveal its imperial significance, ultimately transforming the English Great War canon's typical disillusionment with Britain into a critique of empire. Anand's novel invites us to recenter the imperial position in Great War literature: all English narratives are narratives of empire, and Britain at war is always imperial.

The fact that the non-political Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) was a distinguished Austrian-Jewish writer in British exile merits discussion. Nevertheless, our discussion is not so much concerned with Zweigs stature as a creative genius. What interests us is rather his attitude toward British exile during the principal years of 1933 to 1942. In fact, Zweigs changing British refugee status, exile activities and, in particular, seismographic delineation of the Zeitgeist in Europe represent additional chapters of Jewish history as well as literary history.

Abstract:
The article traces the changes in the aesthetic conventions of Modern art in accordance with the dynamics of literary development in Great Britain. The study focuses on three key areas: the impact of “the ancients and moderns” quarrel on European philosophical and literary thought; the nuances of critical and literary discourse in Enlightenment-era Great Britain; and the reception of the Enlightenment aesthetic values and novelties in Victorian criticism, linking them to the emergence of twentieth-century modernism. The subject involves the evolution of Enlightenment aesthetics and poetics in Great Britain, particularly the departure from classical art and literature models, and the emergence of concepts like imagination, novelty, and the reader’s subjective experience of art. Seminal literary-critical essays of the eighteenth century, including works by Joseph Addison, Henry Home, Richard Hurd, and Leslie Stephen’s monograph ‘History of English Thought in the Eighteenth Century”, are analyzed. The paper also examines philosophical texts by Michel de Montaigne, Francis Bacon, René Descartes, and Marquis de Condorcet to understand the oscillatory nature of philosophical thought before and during the Age of Enlightenment. The study contextualizes “the ancients and moderns” debate on models for literary excellence and accentuates its role in shaping the discourse of aesthetics and artistic creativity. Contributions by Enlightenment figures such as Addison, Home, and Hurd are explored, emphasizing how they reshaped the discourse of aesthetics by redefining the nature of beauty, the sublime, and the principles of artistic criticism, thereby influencing the literary and artistic productions of their time and beyond. Particular attention is paid to the critical views of Stephen who wrote about the “fluctuating mode” of the literature of the second half of the eighteenth century, illustrating his peculiar subjectivism as an exponent of the Victorian worldview (Stephen saw Sterne’s novels as a serious moral threat), and simultaneously reflecting the normative aesthetic views of the second half of the nineteenth century. The paper also demonstrates how the antinomianism in aesthetic thinking, which challenged traditional norms and values as seen in “the ancients and moderns” quarrel, was further evolved in the works of Friedrich Schiller and Friedrich Schlegel, the latter articulating the antinomy of “classic versus romantic”. This tradition of antinomian thinking, coupled with the rejection of the idea of linear progression in cultural evolution, a call for a reassessment of values amidst a paradigm shift in culture and the breakdown of traditional ethic and aesthetic systems, finds a notable and unique expression in Friedrich Nietzsche’s works, that significantly influenced the transition from Modernity to Postmodernity. In summary, it is argued that the Modern Age was the time of the emergence of a new aesthetic sensibility, and its aesthetic pluralism and anti-classical literary ideas were pivotal in redefining concepts of progress, novelty, and human consciousness in art and literature. This laid the groundwork for modernist art and literature, characterized by a departure from tradition and a quest for new artistic expressions of human experience.

Abstract:
The First World War is called “Great” only among the British. This circumstance underlines its enduring importance for British spiritual, political and everyday culture. The conceptualization of historical events as an act of forming cultural memory, a form of presenting a significant past and its cultural heritage is considered in this article on the basis of the methodology of memory studies and heritage studies, its new direction — critical heritage studies. Within the framework of the latter, cultural heritage is interpreted as a process of permanent rethinking and redefinition of the cultural values of the past, which includes various social actors. The influential participants in this process are researchers: culturologists, historians, literary scholars, sociologists, who not only influence collective ideas about the events of the past, but also interpret their contemporary significance. Accordingly, from a huge number of works devoted to the Great War memorialization the authors of the article focus on those that consider the interaction of various forms of memory and their influence on the evolution of the collective memory of the British; they are created in the mainstream of the historical science of culture and distinguished by a pronounced historical and anthropological approach. The article identifies several conceptual approaches in the development of the problems of the cultural heritage and the memory of the war, analyzes the achievements in a comparative study of the image of war and its evolution in the cultural memory of the British, in studying the interaction of the official and popular, collective and individual forms of war memory, general and specific features of the British and foreign traditions of memory about the First World War. It also interprets the significance of the revisionist historiography in changing the notions of the Great War heritage.

Abstract:
Poles who stayed in Great Britain during and after World War II, as well as those who came to the United Kingdom in the following emigration waves, brought with them the baggage of their own culture, national heroes, and ethos. An important figure in this context was Cyprian Norwid who was a true European, a citizen of the world, and at the same time a great patriot, poet, prose writer, playwright, essayist, graphic artist, sculptor, painter, philosopher, and highly regarded as the last of the four most important Polish Romantic poets.Remembrances of him and references to his work are usually intended to raise the spirit of the Polish nation and raise foreign awareness about his work in other cultural societies. Norwid is present in various Polish emigre presses that are edited in the Great Brittan. Traces of work can be found in many publications: Dziennik Polski (The Polish Daily), Dziennik Polski and Dziennik Żołnierza (The Polish Daily and Soldier’s Daily), Pamiętnik Literacki (Literary Diary). Surprisingly, Norwid did not appear in the following post-accession periodicals aimed at the intelligentsia: Nowy Czas (The New Time) or Ekspresje (Expressions). Norwid was important to the authors of Merkuriusz (Mercurius) and Nowy Merkuriusz-Kontynenty (New Mercurius - Continents), and these authors were Adam Czerniawski, Bogdan Czaykowski, Marian Czuchnowski, Wojciech Gniatczyński, Mieczysław Paszkiewicz, Florian Śmieja, and Bolesław Taborski. Abstract:
Appropriate understanding and embracing of the literature in the 19th century in Britain, should be considered so crucial when it comes to writing of novel and the same as to that of theater. Although Radcliff & Mattacks (2009) point out the changes experienced in theatre during the Victorian era, this research further explains the role of human activities in influencing changes in literary forms. There are a number of factors that are seen to be taking place at this particular period, lack of some basic understanding hindered the whole concept of writing. This period was commonly referred as the Victorian era and novel writing were considered to be on the lead when it came to literary genre. Most of the novels at this particular period were published in three volumes, several developments are clearly observed by introduction of other styles such as the satire writing. The women are now given equal opportunities and their work is being acknowledged without any challenges. On the other hand, the 19th century makes a great impact on the theatre; this can be illustrated by the number of developments that were involved. This stage was identified as the revolving stage and these changes were observed as from the 1896. This paper presents the major activities that took place in the 19th century in Britain that took place in the writing of the novel, the impact that it had on the novelist and so is that on the theater. This paper goes on to present the kind of society that existed in this era, the cultures and their way of life which includes the division of classes among the people of Britain.

Abstract:
Summary: We analyze how through some chronicles that describe the deeds of kings as examples of knights and rulers, literary mimesis becomes an essential tool to showcase models that can be utilized for the official image of the Crown. We use the four great Catalan chronicles (the first three in particular) and other historiographical accounts which use a great deal of literary mimesis as well as cultural and literary referents (classical tradition, matter of Britain), as well as the Cançó de la croada contra els albigesos. We pay attention to the view offered in them of the Battle of Muret. We also pay attention to Jaume’s conquests (a consequence of Muret) as viewed by the Muslims. We also analyze the consequences of this battle for England, such as the (xenophobic) suspicion that the English barons felt towards the newcomers, members of the retinue of Queen Eleanor of Provence, the daughter of Ramon Berenguer IV of Provence and therefore Jaume I’s niece. Eleanor finally retired to the Abby of Amesbury, which in turn became a place where identities formed and where, now that the queen was there residing, Arthurian motifs could be made credible: it is the place where Queen Genevieve retired after the Battle of Camlaan, which took place (in literature) on the fields of Salisbury, close to Amesbury. In sum, we analyze classical tradition, matter of Britain, victories and defeats, chronicles, chivalries, etc., all of them relevant topics for acquiring identity and that imply transferences: literature and history, mimesis that has an influence on reality. Keywords: Identity, mimesis, chronicles, Croada contra els albigesos, Battle of Muret, Elionor de Provença, Arthurian cycle, spaces and identity
