International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector 3, no. 4 (October 2011): 54–72. http://dx.doi.org/10.4018/jisss.2011100104.

Abstract:
In order to support legacy migration to the service-oriented architecture (SOA), this paper presents a pragmatic method that derives candidates of services from procedural programs. In the SOA, every service is supposed to be a process (procedure) with (1) open interface, (2) self-containedness, and (3) coarse granularity for business. Such services are identified from the source code and its data flow diagram (DFD), by analyzing data and control dependencies among processes. Specifically, first the DFD must be obtained with reverse-engineering techniques. For each layer of the DFD, every data flow is classified into three categories. Using the data category and control among procedures, four types of dependency are categorized. Finally, six rules are applied that aggregate mutually dependent processes and extract them as a service. A case study with a liquor shop inventory control system extracts service candidates with various granularities.

Abstract:
This study was undertaken to (a) define and describe the dimensions of fitness service attributes, (b) identify the differences, if any, between groups of subjects (categorized by sex and marital status) in the degree to which the defined attributes influenced their choice of a fitness club, and (c) develop a scale to measure those dimensions. The Scale of Attributes of Fitness Services (SAFS) was developed in three stages: generation of 71 items to measure the six theoretically derived dimensions, a pilot study (n = 178), and a final study (n = 436). In the final version of SAFS, 30 items were retained to measure five dimensions of fitness attributes: professional services, consumer services, peripheral services, facilities and equipment, and secondary services (such as provision of liquor and food). The results of the 2 x 2 x 5 (sex x marital status x dimensions) repeated measures AMOVA showed a significant three-way interaction effect. Despite differences among the four groups in the absolute ratings of the five dimensions, there was an overall consistency in the rating of facilities and equipment as the most influential dimension, and secondary services such as the bar and restaurant as the least influential in the subjects’ decision to join a particular club.

Abstract:
Tourism is one of the five priority development sectors in 2017 set by President Joko Widodo, in addition to the food, energy, maritime sectors, as well as industrial zones and Special Economic zones (KEK). Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the contribution of the tourism sector to Indonesia's foreign exchange is experiencing growth from year to year. This article aims to examine the field of sharia tourism (halal tourism) in terms of understanding and perspective in the field of sharia law and economics, and specifically directed to the discussion of legal protection for tourists in the context of the utilization of sharia tourism products and services (halal tourism). Sharia tourism sector (halal tourism) is a new field and is a part of Indonesia's efforts in developing and developing sharia economic and business systems as an alternative to the country's economic development. Through this research, it is found that the implementation of sharia tourism activities (halal tourism) in Indonesia still does not have adequate legal instruments and specifically regulates sharia tourism activities, including the legal rules related to legal protection of tourists. Through this research, it is found several legal instruments that can be used as alternatives in the framework of efforts to provide legal protection for the use of Islamic tourism products and services. The legal instruments include UU No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and UU No. 33 of 2004 concerning Halal Product Guarantee, in both legal instruments there are at least several provisions that can be used as guidelines and legal umbrella, among them are; related to the fulfillment of the right of tourists to get halal food and beverage products; the right of tourists to get services in accordance with sharia principles; the right of tourists to avoid misconduct, khurafat, pornography, liquor, and drugs; and fulfillment of tourist rights to access to worship.

Abstract:
Abstract Present phosphorus (P) recovery technologies mainly contain P recovery from sludge liquor or ash. These types of technologies are suitable for large wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) with enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR), digestion and/or incineration. In Finland and other Nordic countries, strict P discharge limits require chemical precipitation, thus EBPR alone is not sufficient. Ammonium recovery from wastewater, on the other hand, is not so often discussed. However, recovery from WWTP reject waters would decrease the energy demand of ammonium synthesis by Haber-Bosh technology and the energy demand of the WWTP's biological process. Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority (HSY) has developed a new process called RAVITA whereby P and nitrogen recovery are combined in order to produce phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and ammonium phosphate (NH4)3PO4. Furthermore, in this process metal salt used in precipitation is recovered. The research was carried out on pilot (1,000 population equivalent) and laboratory scales. The objectives of this article are to explain the principles of the RAVITA process and give the first results of processing and production of chemical sludge.

Abstract:
Commercialization of black liquor and biomass gasification technologies is anticipated in the 2010–2015 timeframe, and synthesis gas from gasifiers can be converted into liquid fuels using catalytic synthesis technol-ogies that are already commercially established today in the gas-to-liquids or coal-to-liquids industries. This set of two papers describes key results from a major assessment of the prospective energy, environmental, and financial performance of commercial gasification-based biorefineries integrated with kraft pulp and paper mills. Seven detailed biorefinery designs were developed for a reference mill in the southeastern United States, together with the associated mass/energy balances, air emissions estimates, and capital investment requirements. The biorefineries provide chemical recovery services and co-produce process steam for the mill, some electricity, and one of three liq-uid fuels: a Fischer-Tropsch synthetic crude oil (which could be refined to vehicle fuels at an existing petroleum refin-ery), dimethyl ether (a diesel engine fuel or propane substitute), or an ethanol-rich mixed-alcohol product. Compared with installing new Tomlinson power/recovery systems, biorefineries would require more capital investment and greater purchases of woody residues for energy use. However, because biorefineries would be more efficient, have lower air emissions, and produce a more diverse product slate, for nearly all cases examined, the internal rate of return (IRR) on the incremental capital investment lies between 14% and 18%, assuming a $50/bbl world oil price. The IRRs would more than double if plausible federal and state financial incentives were captured. Industry-wide adoption of such biorefining in the United States would provide significant energy and environmental benefits to the country.

Abstract:
The history of the police in Canada is a field that has been little explored. This is all the more so in the case of the police corps of Quebec, the only valid monograph on the subject being one on the Montreal police. This article gives a general outline of the administrative history of the provincial police of Quebec, the “Sûreté du Québec”, since its creation in 1870 by the provincial government. The idea of creating a police force under State control was not new, going back to the first «modern» police established in 1838 in Quebec city and Montreal during a time of rebellion, by an Order in Council of governor Durham. An unsuccessful attempt was made to establish one during the 1850s. It was in 1870 that the «provincial police» were set up in Quebec City, the capital, mainly to have a force to intervene in riots and strikes. Municipalities requiring them could also obtain their services. This police corps was reduced after 1878 to become a mere guard of the Parliament which also served the Department of the Attorney General. After that, great changes were made with the integration of other police and government services : the Bureau of Provincial Detectives of Montreal in 1922, the liquor and highway police in 1934 and 1936, which in 1938 become branches of the Provincial Police. In 1938, the Duplessis government undertook to extend the provincial police by opening up stations throughout the province. After 1960, the Lesage government completed the merging of the various branches, sought to eliminate political influence in the hiring of police and opened the first training school for policemen. The Provincial Police became the Sûreté du Québec in 1968, when an administrative restructuring was started, inspired by the methods used in private enterprise, which gave its form to today's Sûreté.

Abstract:
The present study on oral cavity lesions was a descriptive, analytical and observational study consists of total 173 cases, amongst which 38 cases were of pre-malignant lesions while 135 were of malignant lesions. A male preponderance was noted in both pre-malignant and malignant lesions. A maximum number of cases in pre-malignant lesions was from 50-59 years of age group while in case of malignant lesions a bit early age of presentation was noted, i.e. 40-49 years. Most of them were habituated to tobacco—the most common site of involvement for both, oral pre-cancer and cancer was the oral cavity. Leukoplakia was precancerous lesion (55.26%). The variant in the study was verrucous carcinoma. The predominant piece of the oral squamous cell carcinoma was a lot of isolated types. The current review was essentially indistinguishable with various examinations. The study noted a relatively late age of presentation of pre-malignant lesions. This delay could be explained by multiple factors like ignorance and lacking in medical facilities. In this scenario, many patients progress to full-blown malignancy. This examination reflects that there is a tendency to expose issues and instruct individuals concerning unfavourable impacts of liquor and tobacco usage, the significance of dental tidiness, oral self-appraisal and the openness of preventive services organizations.

Abstract:
During the late nineteenth century, contests over prohibition gripped hundreds of American towns and cities, nowhere with greater consequences than in the post-Reconstruction South. This article examines those effects in Greenville, South Carolina, a small marketing and manufacturing center in the white-majority upcountry. During the 1880s, prohibition split white Democrats who had “redeemed” Greenville's town government just a few years before and led to a surge in voter registration and participation among African Americans. The liquor question's repercussions for politics in the Gilded Age South have been largely neglected, both by social historians of prohibition and by political historians, who have failed to see it as one of the issues that roiled the region's politics between Reconstruction and the Populist rebellion. This article also emphasizes the overlooked importance of municipal elections and governance—even in so small a place as Greenville—as an arena for African Americans’ political activity. Greenville's black voters used their influence during the 1880s to achieve modest but tangible gains in education and municipal services and to erect at least a partial bulwark against the tide of white supremacy. These developments were part of a region-wide revival in African Americans’ municipal power, which Southern Democrats were careful to target in their disfranchising campaigns as the century drew to close.

Abstract:
Development of the population and the increasing demand for health services has led to the increase in the number of hospitals, both government hospital and privet hospitals. The presence of ammonia as a result of protein decomposition can be toxic in the waters. The application of anoxic-oxic biofilter system is an attempt to be able to reduce ammonia levels in hospital wastewater. In the process of anoxic-oxic biofilter, contact occurs between the gravel media and microorganism to form biofilms which can accelerate the degradation of organic matter and the nitrification process. This study aims to obtain the best activated sludge source in reducing ammonia levels of wastewater applied to the anoxic-oxic biofilter system applied. This research was contucted in two stages in which the first stage of active mud nursery was carried out from three sources, namely WWTP Wangaya Hospital Denpasar, WWTP of PTN Hospital Udayana University and WWTP of Bangli Hospital for six days. At this stage a Mixed Liquor Volatile Suspended Solid (MLVSS) value is measured which shows the growth rate of biomass in activated sludge. The second stage is applivation of avtivated sludge and control to the anoxic-oxic biofilter system to reduce ammonia levels in hospital wastewater for five days of processing. This study use a randomized block design with four treatments and three replication. The results showed that the best activated sludge was obtained through nursery from WWTP of Wangaya Denpasar Hospital which was shown by the highest biomass growth (MLVSS Value) of 2433.3 mg/L and the highest reduction in ammonia reached a final level of 0.53 mg/L. The levels of effectiveness of the process of decreasing ammonia levels by 94.70% and has been able to pass the specified quality standard effectiveness percentage (90%) for five days of processing. The value of this effectiveness is the highest compared to the controls and other activated sludge treatment.

Abstract:
Industrial chemical plants of soda ash mainly adopted the ammonia-soda production process and the combined process (Hou's process for soda manufacture), during which the mother liquor was recycled and the exhaust gas purified and recovered, realizing continuous manufacturing. However, in practical operation, there was still a small amount of fugitive ammonia emitted during storage and transport of materials. To improve the environment, an idea of using ammonia-containing exhaust gas for process improvement was introduced: collecting the ammonia-containing exhaust gas, extract some of the thin liquid from the circulating mother liquor for preparation of pure water, from which the concentrate return to the mother liquor circulation system and the pure water for absorption of the ammonia-containing gas; dilute ammonia water that took in the ammonia-containing gas and the feedstock ammonia were again used for preparation of ammonia water for industrial use, which, at the service of the boiler desulfurizing installations of the enterprise, helped achieve internal energy saving and emission reduction.

A total of 121 patients or patient attendance and 39 health personnel were interviewed by a structured questionnaire and a checklist was utilized for availability of equipment’s and drugs in ED. The collected data were processed and analyzed meticulously with the help of SPSS (Version 21) software on the basis of different variables. According to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) all instruments were present, 15 emergency drugs had been listed, out of them Inj. Streptokinase, antiseptic liquid were not available at that time in the ED of the hospital. The study revealed that out of 160 respondents the mean age was 40.3 ± 5.81 years, opinion about different services provided in ED more than two third found satisfied, only 18.1 % service receivers mentioned about the waiting time at ED to be seen by a doctor was ?3 minutes, more than half (54.5 %) required 20-30 minutes for completion of emergency treatment, different suggestions were suggested for further improvement of ED like increase number of wheel chair, stretcher, ambulance, to supply required medicine from the hospital, separate ECG room for female patients, waiting room for patients attendance etc. However, specific problems identified by different stakeholders need to be critically appraised by the authority to improve the services further.Update Dent. Abstract:
Indonesia as one of the biggest archipelagic countries, sees the potential for the need for ports as an inter-island logistics sector. Ports in Indonesia are managed by PT. Indonesian Port, one of the branches of PT. Pelindo is PT. X which has liquid bulk stores specifically for CPO loading and unloading. The problem that occurs is the increase in loading and unloading service time that has exceeded the set resting time, which results in the length of the waiting time for the ship in the pool. So that it will have an impact on the quality of CPO, which causes an increase in the levels of free fatty acids in CPO. Because it is proposed to improve the process of loading and unloading CPO services to minimize queues and reduce ship waiting times. Simulation is completed with ExtandSim software. As for the selected scenario, namely the second alternative scenario showing an increase in service on each pier, the average ship input is 64 ships and the average output is 62 ships, more optimal than conceptual conditions, the proposed calculation of investment costs is the addition of a pipeline of 104,244.00 US $.Keywords: Extendsim, Port Of Liquid Bulk, CPO, Descrette Event Simulation

Abstract:
Introduction Legal highs also known as novel psychoactive substances mimic the effects of classic drugs of abuse. Challenges to developing screening services for novel psychoactive substances include identifying which novel psychoactive substances are available to target. Using new techniques such as exact mass time of flight can help identify common novel psychoactive substances to target for screening patient samples by routine methods such as tandem mass spectrometry. We demonstrate this strategy working in our own clinical toxicology laboratory after qualitative analysis of 98 suspect materials for novel psychoactive substances by ultra-performance liquid chromatography with time of flight mass spectrometry. Results From July 2014 to July 2015 we received 98 requests to test a range of different suspect materials for novel psychoactive substances including herbs, tobacco, liquids, pills and powders. Overall, 87% of the suspect materials tested positive for novel psychoactive substances, and 15% for controlled drugs. Three common novel psychoactive substances were present in 74% of the suspect materials: methiopropamine, a methamphetamine analogue; ethylphenidate, a cocaine mimic; and the third generation synthetic cannabinoid 5F-AKB-48. For the 55 branded products we tested only 24% of the stated contents matched exactly the compounds we detected. Conclusion Testing suspect materials using ultra-performance liquid chromatography with time of flight mass spectrometry has identified three common novel psychoactive substances in use in the UK, simplifying the development of a relevant novel psychoactive substances screening service to our population. By incorporating this into our routine liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry drugs of abuse screen, then offers a clinically relevant novel psychoactive substances service to our users. This strategy ensures our clinical toxicology service continues to remain effective to meet the challenges of the changing drug use in the UK.

Abstract:
Due to the market openness for the competitive tobacco and liquor market, Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation has to pay attention to service quality and customer satisfaction more than before for its retailers in order to maintain its marketplace and even increase its sales. In this research, a case study at South Branch Office in Taichung City, Taiwan is conducted with the effective sample of size of 178 retailing customers through phone purchase by multivariate analysis of variance. The results show that Item 20 has the lowest satisfaction and is the only item less than the value of 3 in a 5-point Likert scale. A platform for retailers to order goods from the internet should be placed in the highest priority. In addition, the age group of 36-45 years old perceived the lowest satisfaction on Item 16, which should be the focal point. Moreover, the other focal point is that the retailers purchasing tobacco through phone purchase has the second lowest satisfaction on Item 17. The management needs to address these two issues in order to provide better service for its retailers.

ABSTRACTDivergent practices for displaying respect in face-to-face interaction are an ongoing cause of tension in the US between immigrant Korean retailers and their African American customers. Communicative practices in service encounters involving Korean customers contrast sharply with those involving African American customers in 25 liquor store encounters that were videotaped and transcribed for analysis. The relative restraint of immigrant Korean storekeepers in these encounters is perceived by many African Americans as a sign of racism, while the relatively personable involvement of African Americans is perceived by many storekeepers as disrespectful imposition. These contrasting interactional practices reflect differing concepts of the relationship between customer and storekeeper, and different ideas about the speech activities that are appropriate in service encounters. Abstract This communication provides a detailed review of the lateral-acceleration experience of six tractor-semitrailer combinations in real commercial service for approximately one year. Lateral-acceleration experience is described in histograms of travel time. Influences of speed, load, road geometry, driving style, and longitudinal position on the vehicle are examined. Distributions of both path curvature and lateral acceleration are presented. The six vehicles studied were all five-axle, tractor-semitrailer combinations. The semitrailers were cryogenic tankers for transporting liquid nitrogen. The fleet operated from La Porte, Indiana and serviced much of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Data from nearly 10,000 hours and more than 770,000 km of travel were collected and analyzed.

Abstract:
Because of the absence of regulations and specific national norms, the unilaterally applied indicators for performance evaluation of water distribution management services are insufficient. This does not pave the way for a clear visibility of water resources. The indicators are also so heterogeneous that they are not in equilibrium with the applied management patterns. In fact: 1- The performance (yield and Linear loss index) of drinking water networks presents a discrepancy between operators and lack of homogeneity in terms of parameters put in its equation. Hence, It these indicators lose efficiency and reliability; 2- Liquid sanitation service has to go beyond the quantitative evaluation target in order to consider the qualitative aspects of water. To reach this aim, a reasonable enlargement of performance indicators is of paramount importance in order to better manage water resource which is becoming scarce and insufficient.

Abstract:
This study addresses three questions pertinent to the debate concerning the secondary crime effects of adult businesses. (1) Are adult businesses hotspots for crime? (2) How do adult businesses compare with controls with regard to crime? (3) What subclasses of adult business are most likely to be associated with crime? A study of three cities reveals that adult businesses tended to fall outside the heaviest concentrations of criminal activity. Further, adult bookstores were less related to crime than both cabarets and on-site liquor-serving establishments. While adult cabarets were associated with ambient crime, crime was generally equivalent to nonadult liquor-serving establishments. A weighted intensity value analyses revealed that crime generally was more “intense” around liquor-serving establishments than around adult cabarets across the municipalities. These findings suggest that the relationship between cabarets and crime is not due to the presence of adult entertainment per se but rather due to the presence of liquor service. This finding is consistent with central precept of routine activities theory that areas that contain public establishments that serve alcohol facilitate crime.

Abstract:
Coastal food services are an important segment within ‘sea and sun’ tourism. They have a direct impact on the environment from liquid and solid waste generation, air contamination, and excessive energy and water consumption. Mass tourism and the contemporary threat of climate change enhance the anthropogenic intrusion, especially in vulnerable coastal zones. To prevent overexploitation of the coastal zones, the adaptation of the sustainable principles by coastal stakeholders is an urgent matter. Thus, this study aims to design a model of sustainable development for restaurants and to examine the level of its adoption by seaside restaurant owners in two touristic beach areas of Cadiz province, Spain. A questionnaire was performed during the high summer season in 2018. The obtained data was analysed by IBM SPSS software. The survey results showed that the model of sustainable development has been poorly adopted by restaurant managers. Foreign managers of international restaurants are less involved in the adoption of the sustainable model in comparison to Spanish restaurant owners. Moreover, restaurants that have been opened more than 10–20 years provide a more sustainable way of business operation in comparison with newly established food service organizations.

Abstract:
PURPOSE The Blood Profiling Atlas in Cancer (BloodPAC) Data Commons (BPDC) is being developed and is operated by the public-private BloodPAC Consortium to support the liquid biopsy community. It is an interoperable data commons with the ultimate aim of serving as a recognized source of valid scientific evidence for liquid biopsy assays for industry, academia, and standards and regulatory stakeholders. METHODS The BPDC is implemented using the open source Gen3 data commons platform ( https://gen3.org ). In particular, the BPDC Data Exploration Portal, BPDC Data Submission Portal, the BPDC Workspace Hub, and the BloodPAC application programming interface (API) were all automatically generated from the BloodPAC Data Model using the Gen3 data commons platform. BPDC uses Gen3's implementation of the data commons framework services so that it can interoperate through secure, compliant APIs with other data commons using data commons framework service, such as National Cancer Institute's Cancer Research Data Commons. RESULTS The BPDC contains 57 studies and projects spanning more than 4,100 cases. This amounts to 5,700 aliquots (blood plasma, serum, or a contrived sample) that have been subjected to a liquid biopsy assay, quantified, and then contributed by members of the BloodPAC Consortium. In all, there are more than 31,000 files in the commons as of December 2020. We describe the BPDC, the data it manages, the process that the BloodPAC Consortium used to develop it, and some of the applications that have been developed using its API. CONCLUSION The BPDC has been the data platform used by BloodPAC during the past 4 years to manage the data for the consortium and to provide workspaces for its working groups.

Abstract:
Cannabis is one of the most commonly elicited substances abused. It is easily accessible, inexpensive, and the ultimate gateway drug. Synthetic cannabinoid has been known to be packaged under numerous trade names such as “K2, spice, AK-47, Geeked up, Smacked, and Green Giant..etc”. K2 Abuse has been rising more recently in New York State, especially among lower socioeconomic areas and among younger male individuals. Clinicians should be educated and awareness should be increased regarding patient presentation, treatment, as well as management. Although, treatment is ultimately supportive therapy, long term management to prevent future abuse is of prime importance. Death is rare but there can be serious risks associated with K2 abuse.Case presentationPatient is a 36-year-old male with unknown PMH who presented with bizarre behavior and anxiety. Patient was uncooperative and portraying repetitive tangential thoughts. He was found agitated, screaming “I am king of the world, and I feel good”. The patient admits to waking up this morning and smoking marijuana and his last memory since then was being in the ambulance. The patient denies any psychiatric medical history but is unable to provide any further details. The patient's family reports unusual behavior in the past few days such as religious connotations, nonsensical rantings, and repetitive thoughts causing them to contact emergency medical services. The family also admits to depressive episodes as well as suicidal ideations found in his personal written lyrics. He admits to drinking 1 pint of various types of liquor well as 6+ beers per day for >15 years. He denies any history of smoking, although he does smoke marijuana daily as per family. On physical exam his vital signs were normal. Patient was tearful and exhibiting repetitive thoughts, despite having a somnolent general affect. The rest of the physical exam was within normal limits. Patient received intravenous crystalloid fluids, Haldol 5 mg IV, and Benzodiazepine IV. Pertinent laboratory findings is significant for elevated lactate 3.4, hypokalemia 2.2, and an elevated ammonia 53. Other laboratory findings were within normal limits. CXR and Head CT showed no significant findings and EKG was within normal limits.Hospital course complicated with aspiration pneumonia. Patient received a full course of antibiotic therapy. Blood and urine culture showed no growth through admission. Social worker and case manager were involved and patient was offered referral to chemical dependency programs which he refused. Patient was discharged in stable condition and asked to follow up with primary care physician.DiscussionThe recreational use of synthetic cannabinoids such as K2 has been on the rise especially in younger male individuals and in lower socioeconomic status neighborhoods. In turn, the number of admissions secondary to acute intoxication has been increasing in hospitals all over the nation. More recently, since the advent of synthetic cannabinoids, there has been two reported confirmed deaths in New York City associated with K2 abuse. This can be attributed the drugs widespread accessibility. Synthetic marijuana has been legally available in the internet, local smoke shops, and even convenience stores. K2 has been advertised as the new, legal, and more cost effective way to get “high”. The popularity of this new class of drug “fad” is increasing in popularity as an alternative to marijuana and will continue to be a growing health concern. The use of K2 and other synthetic forms of recreational substances has become an escalating problem in many institutions nationwide. Increasing awareness will allow for improved preparedness as well as provide further data on this situation. .

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Enteral feeding catheters are commonly used to administer both nutritional feedings and oral forms of medications. Obstruction of the catheters is a major concern. OBJECTIVES: To study characteristics of obstruction of enteral feeding catheters in ICU patients and current knowledge and practices of ICU nurses of administering medications through such catheters. METHODS: A postcard invitation to participate in this descriptive survey was mailed to a random sample of 12,069 members of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. The 52-item investigator-designed questionnaire was mailed to the 1700 critical care nurses who agreed to participate; 1167 (68.6%) returned completed survey questionnaires. RESULTS: Nurses estimated that 33.8% of their patients received 8.9 doses of medication per day through the enteral feeding catheter. The rate of obstruction of the tube by medications was 15.6%. Crushed medications contributed to obstruction, although liquid forms of the medications often were available. Nurses' primary source of knowledge about administering medications through enteral feeding catheters was clinical practice (56.9%) and consultation with peers (21.7%); only 19% had had inservice training on the topic. Written agency guidelines varied considerably, and 74% of nurses used two or more techniques that were contrary to recommendations. Factors significantly associated with lower rates of obstruction of enteral feeding catheters included (1) assistance from the pharmacy service to ensure liquid forms of medications, (2) nurses' attendance at a relevant seminar or inservice training program, and (3) not routinely crushing and administering enteric-coated or sustained-release medications through the enteral feeding catheter. CONCLUSIONS: Collaboration between nursing and pharmacy services to ensure delivery of liquid medications and avoid use of crushed medications may reduce the high rate of catheter obstruction due to medications. Research-based guidelines and a more formal dissemination of information to nurses are needed.

Abstract:
Insulating liquids play an important role as insulating media in various high voltage applications and infrastructure installations. The dielectric strength of an insulating liquid depends on the experimental conditions (in case of laboratory testing) and/or the service conditions (in case of apparatuses in service). One of the main factors affecting the dielectric strength of insulating liquids is the so-called size effect, i.e. the effect of the size of the electrodes, of the size of the liquid volume under stress and of the gap spacing between the electrodes. All the aforementioned parameters are investigated in the context of the present short review.

Abstract. Jaya Tani is a farmer group in Suka Sipilihen Village, Karo Regency. The members of Jaya Tani group partly farm the fields and raise livestock. The livestock has several problems, namely environmental waste pollution in the form of livestock manure. Based on the situation analysis through the preliminary survey, Jaya Tani group has difficulty in managing cow manure waste, causing environmental pollution and decreasing the health of livestock. Farmers also need to understand the importance of environmental protection in livestock waste management. This community service activity aimed to introduce liquid organic fertilizer production and its application for organic vegetables which can increase the knowledge and skills of farmers by utilizing livestock waste. This community service activity provided socialization and education to farmers on the importance of environmental protection based on Law Number 32 of 2009. This community service conducted interviews, approaches, and empowerment on the introduction and application of technology. This community service activity provided practical training, counseling, and mentoring to group members. The community service activity increased farmer skills in applying and producing liquid organic fertilizer from cow feces on organic vegetables so that farmers comply with Law Number 32 of 2009 and streamline the fertilization costs.
