Full textThe present work develops the Strategic Strategic Plan of Metropolitan Lima in 2028, for which the Strategic Sequential Model Model of Fernando D'Alessio has been used. Metropolitan Lima is the capital of Peru, and the strategic location makes it a fundamental pillar for its development. It is the city with the highest economic growth in the country and has high level production districts nationwide. In the city, a diverse and unequal socioeconomic structure is perceived, which shows that there are geographical areas with a higher economic income and a very different quality of life. Metropolitan Lima meets the economic and cultural conditions, development and growth perspective that together can be outlined as a magnet for doing business. To do this, a new vision is proposed to achieve and improve the welfare of the population of Metropolitan Lima. The vision is: “By the year 2028, Metropolitan Lima will be recognized as a competitive and modern city in Latin America, based on the growth of its main economic activities such as manufacturing, commerce and tourism; contributing in a sustained manner to the increase of the national GDP in more than half, positioning itself within the first five cities to do business in the region and generating equality in the distribution of the three dimensions of the Human Development Index”. The Long Term Objectives to achieve the vision is focused on achieving sustained economic growth based on its three main economic pillars: trade, manufacturing and tourism, a higher rate of human development based on health, education and wealth, a great interest to become one of the main cities to do business, as well as reduce crime rates and improve land use and urban transport. Through the application of this strategic plan, Metropolitan Lima will be consolidated as a reference model for the national and global economy.

Full textThe following strategic planning of Lima Metropolitana contains proposals to consolidate the positioning of the Peruvian capital as one of the reference cities of the region, for which it is urgent to address two problems that have a negative impact on the quality of life of Lima residents: citizen insecurity and the public transport system. In 2017, the feeling of insecurity in the habitants of Lima was 60% and 40% of the population was victim of a crime. Likewise, one of four people in Lima takes more than two hours a day to get to and from work and the levels of dissatisfaction with the public transport system exceed 50%. This PEA contains strategies for 2027, in that year Lima will be a safe city and have a modern and efficient transportation system. These conditions will make it possible to take advantage of the opportunities that exist in the tourism sector, construction, the plastic industry and the production of copper wire. These economic activities have a high impact on the economy due to their intensive generation of employment, their contribution to GDP and their potential growth. In that sense, strategies are proposed to increase the tourism to bill US $ 9 billion in 2027. Also, the manufacture of copper wire will achieve US $ 2,125 million in 2027 and the plastic industry will generate revenues of US $ 1,110 millions. In ten years, the construction industry will bill US $ 7,000 million. To carry out the following work, an exhaustive investigation has been developed on the environment of Lima Metropolitana, identifying the opportunities and threats that appear in the market. Likewise, the relationship with the competitors and referents has been analyzed. In addition, tools have been applied to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the City of Kings. The long-term objectives, as well as the short-term objectives, are fully aligned with the vision for Metropolitan Lima by the year 2027, which proposes to turn it into a safe, modern city that is recognized as the tourist destination and gastronomic preferred by world travelers, as well as a competitive city for construction and manufacturing

Using the Sequential Model, which was developed by D'Alessio (2015), the present strategic plan for the city of Lima Metropolitana has been elaborated with a view to the year 2026. The objective is that Lima becomes a smart city, where its inhabitants Enjoy an excellent quality of life, which will be manifested in access to basic services, education and general development opportunities. This will allow Limeños to have a life expectancy at birth above 80 years of age. The main opportunity that has the city of Metropolitan Lima is that it has a national market of more than 31 million people, concentrated in this city, which is also the capital of the national government. This large population is a source of demand for different goods and services, with a population that has seen its consumption capacity increased in the last 10 years as a result of economic growth. Through an internal audit, it was found that the main strength of the city lies in the construction of road infrastructure projects that will benefit various districts, which will address deep weaknesses such as lack of roads or an integrated transportation system that The majority of the population. In addition, there are other strengths, such as: (a) headquarters of the main business associations of the country, such as the Lima Chamber of Commerce; (B) economic diversification, with sustained GVA growth; And (c) economic activities of value added, among others. The weaknesses of the city of Metropolitan Lima occur because not all district municipalities have the same level of administrative efficiency and quality in their services, while the transportation times are very high, because there are deficiencies in the road infrastructure

Full textThe case study aims to understand the development of the social networks Facebook and Twitter of the first three candidates during the last 09 days of the election of Metropolitan Lima in 2018. The candidates were chosen according to the top of the DATUM, IPSOS and CPI pollsters; The intervention period addresses the space of electoral silence that is applied in every Peruvian election. The academic work presents descriptive and explanatory methodology, uses mixed methods and extracts information from the social accounts through the R software to first analyze the use of Facebook and Twitter of Lima candidates, valuing the content of agenda, context, valorization type of the adversary, campaign development, request for vote, proposal and others. Subsequently, the behavior of users in social networks is studied to find interactivity between candidates and users. Then it is applied to the Bacallao Facebook interactivity rate (2013) and based on the aforementioned proposal I propose an Twitter interactivity rate. Finally, we propose to the academy a model of weights of the publications on Facebook in such a way that it can be evaluated if a publication, in contrast to the participation of users, can have direction or strength. The results were that the 2018 election was of the video type; Muñoz used 80.68%, Uresti 62.96% and Renzo 50.66% of the total of the publications, in addition the users participated with more likes on Facebook and hearts on Twitter; With all this it is claimed that Muñoz won the campaign on Facebook while Urresti won on Twitter

Full textCurrently, in Peru, corporate banking transparency has been little explored in the academic field, despite its importance for national economic development, as well as for investors and interested third parties. However, international organizations and companies related to the sector, are making efforts to boost banking transparency, since, on this depends the value of banks in the national and international market. Thus, the relevance of this research lies in the contribution with information to the field of transparency in the national banking sector. The purpose of this work is to estimate the level of transparency of the sample of representative banks of Lima, in this way, that Douissa's model was taken as a reference. Likewise, the present investigation is quantitative, descriptive, non-inferential. The estimation of the transparency measure used was based on four dimensions: Integrity, timeliness, credibility and accessibility of information. The sample is made up of the four banks with the largest participation in the national market, and at the same time they are part of the 25 best banks in Latin America, which have an 82.96% share in loans, deposits and equity. The source of information was secondary, from the Financial Statements, Annual Reports and Sustainability Reports published on the web page of each bank. As a result, the four banks reached the average transparency index equivalent to 95% and for each dimension it was: Integrity 88.2%, opportunity 100%, credibility 100% and accessibility 91.7%. Based on the gaps found, it was recommended that in order to compensate and achieve greater transparency, banks should publish financial information on loans and deposits related to municipalities or government institutions. As well as, the identity of managers and their share of the capital of the bank, to determine the structure of the bank's property, provisions on possible cases of phishing, money laundering, terrorism and disasters. As well as, that they publish the projects or loans requested and rejected by companies linked to the activities of social responsibility of the banks.

Full textThe main purpose of the present research is to identify the predominant leadership style of female entrepreneurs in Metropolitan Lima in Peru throughout qualitative descriptive of their demographic characteristics; education levels, family and work background; the types of businesses they manage; their managerial skills; their motivations to become entrepreneurs and their interpersonal relations. The study uses the qualitative paradigm that is based on a case study of 18 female entrepreneurs who live and work in Metropolitan Lima and who have been running companies for more than three years and a half. Female entrepreneurs tend to show characteristics associated to the transformational leadership style and tend to be motivated by necessity, mainly because they want to achieve independence and have more available time. It is commonly believed that female entrepreneurs who are highly educated mainly start business by opportunity, however results show that they are motivated by need and have a strong tendency to transformational style. In addition, it is concluded that transformational leadership is developed naturally in female entrepreneurs who are motivated by opportunity. The personal characteristics of female entrepreneurs, depend on the context and their experiences; however, the following outstand: (a) the ability to learn, (b) good interpersonal relationships, (c) good level of communication, (d) responsibility, (e) positive attitude and (f) character. The main contribution of this study lies in the analysis of female entrepreneurs in Metropolitan Lima in Peru, the region with the highest entrepreneurial activity in the country, and adds further empirical evidence that supports that the transformational leadership style is predominant for female entrepreneurs in a different context

During the research it was determined that the problem that caused the high percentage of closures restaurants in Lima by a poor service and mismanagement was due, principally, for unknowledge of the level of quality establishments. Full textThis paper presents a qualitative research that seeks to explore the characteristics of women micro-entrepreneurs in the Lima Metropolitan Area with good and bad payment behavior of credits obtained for their businesses. This aims to find aspects that can be used as distinguishing factors between the two groups; for this purpose, the aspects linked to their life expectations, their business management and the financing they access for their businesses are explored. The study uses a qualitative strategy based on focus groups. For this, two sessions were held with women who are good payers and other two sessions with women who are bad payers. The results show that there are similarities between women micro-entrepreneurs with good and bad payment behavior; both groups have the well-being and development of their children as a priority, the lack of money and their many problems turned them into microentrepreneurs. Also, they think experience is important for their business development and they don’t consider training as something necessary for their businesses. The main differences found between the two groups are related with: the degree of independence and role within the family (with respect to the partner), attitude towards life, business-related objectives, business organization and dedication to the business.

This investigation looked for identify the level of quality, through the nine factors of Total Quality Management (TQM, for its acronym in English) in the textile companies of Lima. Also explained if there are significant differences between the results of companies that do have a Quality Management System (QMS) and those that do not. This allowed to analyze that the independent variable is the Quality Management System, while the dependent variable is the level of quality, as measured by the following factors (Benzaquen, 2013): (a) Senior Management, (b) Quality Planning ( c) Audit and Quality Assessment, (d) Product Design, (e) Quality Management (f) Control and Improvement Process (g) Training and Education, (h) Quality Circles and (i) Approach to Customer Satisfaction. Also, this research was descriptive and explanatory, with a quantitative approach, which provided objectivity and allowed to prove the hypothesis through statistical analysis. For obtained data we applied a survey to a sample of 234 companies, which were selected with an error level of 6% and at random from a population of 1,552 companies engaged in textiles in Lima. Finally, the results allowed concluding that there are no significant differences in the level of quality that have companies that have implemented quality management systems and those that have not. Full textIn the last decade, the construction sector in Peru has grown at an important rate, except for the years 2015 and 2016, where it was reduced to the fall of public investment, which in turn reduced cement production. Within the sector, which had the biggest drop in infrastructure, this due to the stop of several public projects and acts of corruption in companies linked to the sector. The construction of houses maintained a way so that the sector did not fall further, housing continues to be built, especially driven by state programs, although the objectives in reducing the deficit have not been completed. The focus of this work is the development of a strategy that collaborates with the State in a series of policies and actions regarding how to drastically reduce the housing deficit in Metropolitan Lima, both quantitatively and qualitatively, over a period of 10 years. It means that in addition to building new homes, it also aims to improve, repair, strengthen and formalize existing homes, improving the quality of life of the population. From the preliminary analysis, it is concluded that to encourage investment in the secondary sector of Building and Housing, it is very important that the State take the properties, elaborate and learn that the property of the construction of houses, also must function as an integrator between the banking sector, the real estate and construction companies, the private and public organizations, the unions of the sector and the users and / or the population. It is vitally important that common, challenging but realistic objectives are drawn up and a thorough follow-up is carried out to control deviations and thus ensure that the plan can be met

Full textThe National Police of Peru has the constitutional mandate to provide protection and assistance to individuals and the community, guarantee compliance with laws and the security of public and private heritage, as well as prevent, investigate and combat crime. That is why the PNP has been implementing various actions to fulfill the assigned functions. Despite this, in recent years, Metropolitan Lima has become the department with the highest victimization rates; likewise, the population feels considerably insecure in most of the districts of the capital. Within this framework, this innovation project considers the ineffective actions of the PNP in matters of citizen security in Metropolitan Lima during the 2016-2018 period as a problem. That said, and as a result of the application of interviews and bibliographic reviews, 3 causes of the problem were identified, the most relevant being the lack of reliable information in the hands of the police. This is due to the relevance of the management of adequate information for the development of police actions. In this way, this project proposes the implementation of a mobile application and its corresponding web platform. This is an application for emergencies and complaints consisting of 4 buttons: 1) Report that you are being the victim of an act of gender violence (when there is already a protection measure dictated by a judge); 2) Report a criminal act witnessed at that time, 3) Report a past criminal act and 4) Directly dial the number of the PNP Emergency Center. This will provide material evidence such as geolocation, audio and video. The proposal is effectively linked and articulated with the prevention strategies developed by the national police to combat crime.

Research conducted in many countries argues that Total Quality Management (TQM) can bring benefits to businesses and strengthen their performance and enhance their competitive advantage. It also has been studied that the adoption of a Management System (QMS) impacts positively on the implementation of TQM. However, few studies have been done about it in Peru. This research aims to contribute to the knowledge level of implementation of quality in the Security Sector in Metropolitan Lima related to the nine success factors of quality. It also seeks to differentiate between companies that have implemented a QMS and those without. This sector defines security services such as protection activities of someone or something for someone and as maintenance of status of persons. According to the characteristics of the security services offered it can be differentiated into three subsectors, defense, order and protection. It has been analyzed 119 companies and institutions that include both private companies and public sector institutions. In order to get information surveys were conducted to quality managers, the survey consisted of 35 questions divided among the nine factors of TQM. It was identified that companies and institutions with SGC do better in the nine factors of TQM. Therefore, having a QMS contributes positively to the company or institution. It was found that the factors of Senior Management Approach to Customer Satisfaction and Quality Planning were the most important companies in the Security Sector, whereas it is necessary to give greater emphasis to the factors of Quality Circles and Management Supplier Quality. This study may show the way for the improvement of public safety services and improve the performance of companies that provide security; responsible people who define public security policies have a tool they can use to support their decisions

Full textThe following investigation emerges from the observation of the multifactorial vulnerability of homosexuals, which has been scarcely focused by the AIDS and STDs fighting programs, since it doesn‟t constitute a homogeneous group but represents a wide range of people with different lifestyles and health needs different to the heterosexual population, differentiating the health needs of HIV positive homosexuals in regard to HIV negative homosexuals. Although many men are infected through sexual partners who don‟t know of their serological condition, the increase of HIV events and STD rates highlights the need to deeply understand the lifestyles of homosexuals with HIV. To know the needs of prevention, care and support of the participant homosexuals, a profound understanding of this group is needed in regard to: HIV positive status, sexuality and sexual practices, the perception and meanings of sexual risk, and the social and familiar context in which they develop. The results of this investigation will work to develop adjusted interventions, focused and directed particularly to increase the access of this vulnerable group to the prevention and to the care services, support and treatment of HIV. Which is the reason for the emergence of the need to conduct a qualitative study about „The Lifestyle of Homosexuals with HIV in Metropolitan Lima-2011‟ which offers a deep understanding of what for the homosexual participants means to be HIV positive, the impact it has in life, the care and sexual risk and the needs that are generated by living with HIV. The current study is of the descriptive type with the use of a qualitative technique, the „In-depth Interview‟, because of the nature of the phenomenon to investigate and this directed to know the lifestyles of HIV homosexuals. The population was made up of 10 HIV homosexuals taken from the workshops organized by GAM (Mutual Help Group), CorazonesChalacos‟ and the Communitarian Center GLBT „5to PISO‟. Among the most outstanding considerations we have: the most important thing for the participants is to „feel good‟ and if they can achieve that without the prescribed medicine, then they prefer so. There have also been cases of illness denial, that is to say, they still haven‟t found the coping mechanism to accept their illness, consequently leading to them not worrying about their treatment. On the other hand, they have changed their perspective of life and understood that living in the present is essential. In regard to the sexual aspect, so crucial to every human being, there have been found many participants with a new attitude whose responsibility is of utmost importance and that act with caution and take all security measures; in contrast to other participants who don‟t seem to have reflected about their disorganized and risky life by continuing with an unsafe sexual life, constituting a danger for public health. Key Words: Lifestyles, Homosexual, HIV

Full textThis current research aims to identify the level of compliance of the nine success factors of quality in the hotel sectors in metropolitan Lima with two, three, four and five stars classifications, registered in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), in 2014. The hotel sector, which is the target of this research, is important because it contributes to the growth of tourism. If there are no adequate hosting facilities and service quality standards conditions, no destination, no matter how attractive they are, will have the opportunity to enrich its economic and social activities in its surroundings. This work has as its precedence from the study done by Benzaquen (2013). The investigation tried to determine the impact of the use of these quality management systems in Peruvian companies. In this study, the author provided guidelines to analyze in detail the nine factors of Total Quality Management (TQM) in any sector both nationally and international. This study has this descriptive character. In it, 56 hospitality companies, which are registered with MINCETUR in 2014 with two, three, four and five star ratings in Lima, participated. Respondents were administered a questionnaire that dealt with the implementation of quality in their company. Subsequently, the sample results led to conclude that the level of compliance of the factors of TQM tends positively to meet the various requirements that require these nine factors.

Full textSubjective Well-Being is a core topic in the agenda of social and behavioural sciences, and international policy. There is accumulated evidence about which are the main components of subjective Well-Being; the challenge is to integrate this knowledge in a model. The present study uses the Multidimensional Subjective Well-Being framework, which has been tested in a rural – urban corridor, but has not been tested in urban environments. Testing this model in a representative sample of a Latin American multicultural city could lead to a better understanding of Subjective Well-Being in Latin America, the happiest region of the world according some world happiness surveys. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to present a subjective well-being model for Lima, Peru, where values exert an influence on goals and exert an influence on goal achievement perception; and resources are mediators between goals and goal achievement perception. A probabilistic polietapic sampling selected 500 participants for a representativity of 95% ± 4.37% error. Path Analysis provides confirmatory evidence of the model. Main paths underline the importance of social relations in well-being. Evidence also supports the anticipatory satisfaction in goal setting. In addition, an effect of values (convergence) in satisfaction is found. A hybrid subjective well-being model is suggested. One path is based in material status, negatively related to life satisfaction. The second path is rooted in the quality of interpersonal relations, and is positively related to subjective well-being. A Good Place to Live, basically a good neighbourhood; social acceptance and; love relations are core components of Feeling Good perception. Implications for prevention programs and social development are discussed.

For this purpose, a database of companies that offer a commercialization of light, medium and heavy vehicles was compiled. The research had a quantitative approach, of descriptive scope; a non-experimental and transactional design was used. As a result of the investigation it was determined that most factors higher average values were obtained , which would indicate that there is a high level of compliance with the factors of TQM . The scope of the present investigation was limited to the sample obtained 25 automotive companies of Lima Metropolitana, which is why the results cannot be inferred to the whole sector.

Full textIn today’s world globalization demands knowing what is happening in our local region and nation but also what happens in the world and how those events can impact the society in which we live. Education in the 21st century has the duty to work with the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which implies that teachers develop their digital competencies. This study aims to answer the following question: How do the dimensions of digital competence manifest themselves in the teachers of an educational organization of private schools in Peru, in 2017? The studies aimed to identify the dimensions that constitute the strengths along with provide opportunities for improvement in the training of teachers that this private educational organization require. The methodological design of the study is descriptive, quantitative, applied and corresponds to the line of research on Digital Culture. In coherence with the design, the survey technique was based on the application of a questionnaire previously validated by factor analysis and subjected to internal reliability tests. The instrument consists of 52 items distributed in three dimensions (technological, informational and pedagogical). Among the results obtained, it is noteworthy that 33.48% of teachers show an adequate development in Digital Competence, being the technological dimension the one that concentrates the highest percentage (41.14%) of teachers with an adequate development. The dimensions in which teachers show less development are Informational (with only 34.80% of teachers) and Pedagogical (with only 35.56% of teachers).
