Abstract:
Records of body weight (BW) and linear body measurement (LBMs), namely body length (BL), body width (bwh), heart girth (hg), height-at withers (HW), shoulder-to-tail drops (ST), ear lenght (EL), head-to-shoulder (HS), lenght of fore limb (LFL), lenght of hind limb (LHL) and head circumference (HC) taken on 72 kits produced through complete dialled crosses were used to estimate heterosis and recipocal effects. The crosses involved New Zealand White (NZW), Dutch (DT) and Cchinchilla (CH) breeds of rabbit. Only NZW x DT and CH x DT crosses showed heterosis for BWs, indicating that non-additive sults for all effects of genes could be important for the LBMs were generally similar. Recipocal effect was not significant (p<0.05) for all traits. suggesting that any of the breeds may be used as sire or dam in planned crossesbreeding programmes.

Abstract:
Introduction: Fractures of ankle are one of the most frequent interacticular fractures that require operative treatment. During the work, the influence of some particular factors ( the length of the preoperative period, the complications of the operative period and the aplication of antibiotics) to the length of the postopertive intrahospital stay, are scrutinised. Method: The patients with ankle fracture treated by operation were comprised by the retrospective study in the Traumatologic department in the CHC Zemun in period of 2003 to 2006, and they were devided in three groups depending on the length of postoperative stay. Results: The period of time before the operation(?= 0.405, p<0.01), the appearance of complications (?= 0.465, p<0.01), as well as the length of the period of antibiotic application (?=0.580, p<0.01), significantly influence to the length of the postoperative intrahospital stay. The everage length of intrahospital stay for the patients with registered complications was 19 days, while for the patients without registered complications was 10 days. There is statistically significant difference in the length of intrahospital recovery, depending on various complications (logrank=35.74; df=5; p<0.01). Conclusion: It is necessary to treat these fractures as soon as possible, for this way of medical treatment results with less number of complications, shorter stay of patients in hospital and thereby reduced treatment costs.

Abstract:
Variability refers to a process by which differences occur among individuals of the same plant species. However, some characteristics change very little while others, especially quantative ones, change rather quickly and readily even when environmental conditions change slightly. This fact has prompted an investigation aimed to establish the variability of pomological characteristics of the Sumatovka cv. apple tree, a rather old and autochthonous cultivar grown widely throughout Eastern Serbia. Its special characteristic is an ability to grow and bear fruit without any particular care and cultivation, and in conditions of especially severe water deficiency and drought. Sumatovka cv. fruits are small- or medium-sized on the average, the length Measuring 51.3 ? 6.62 mm (CV 12.9%), width 55.5 ? 6.35 mm (CV 11.4%), pedicel lenght 19.5 ? 3.2 mm (CV 16.4%) and fruit mass 66.0 ?20.6 g (CV 31.3%). Total soluble dry matter content of the mesocarp varies between 15.6 and 1.92% (CV 12.31%), total sugars 14.3 ? 4.7% (CV 32.8%) and total sour substances 0.95 ? 0.11% (CV 18.6%). Especially examined were the large-sized Sumatovka fruits measuring 72.0 mm in lenght and width, and 169.4 g in mass.

Full text
Abstract:
Objective: Following three-component implantation of a penile prosthesis, some patients are dissatisfied with their penile length. This may be due to the procedure by itself or pre-existing risk factors or psychological reasons. We supposed that formation of a restricted pseudo-capsule due to a late prosthesis activation can inhibit later system expansion. We aimed to identify the presence or absence of penile retraction after implant and to prevent it by immediate prosthesis activation after implantation. Material and methods. Forty-six patients operated with three-piece inflatable penile prosthesis (AMS 700 CX o LGX) were enrolled. In 27 patients prosthesis was first activated four weeks after surgery (NEA group) and in 19 patients prosthesis was activated immediately after surgery (DEA group). Length and girth of the penis was evaluated before (in DEA group) and after the surgical procedure. Results. The average post implant dorsal length of the erect penis in group NEA was found 3.28 cm shorter than in group with early activation (DEA). In DEA group there was no lenght difference between pre-operative stretching (14.57 cm) and post operative erection (14.98 cm). When early activation was not performed, the clinical result was a smaller penis in erect phase. Conclusion. Reduced lenght of the penis after implantation can be caused by the presence of a pseudo-capsule that limits the elongation of the prosthesis and of the penis (“coffin effect”). Timing of first activation seems to be the key in order to prevent the risk of penile retraction after implantation. Early activation is identified as the best measure to maintain the length of the pre implant erect penis after the prosthetic hydraulic implant.

Abstract:
Microplastics in the body of fish can damage the function of organs. One of the aquatic biota that can be affected by microplastics is Mutiara catfish. The study aimed to compare the gill morphology of Mutiara catfish after being exposed to microplastics. This study was an experimental study consisting of four treatments, feed treatment with microplastic added with a weight of 0.00 mg/0.75 g feed (control); 0.01 mg/ 0.75 g feed (P1); 0.1 mg/0.75 g (P2); and 1 mg/0.75 g (P3). Each treatment was repeated seven times (seven buckets) and each bucket was filled with five fish so that a total of 140 fish were used. The treatment was carried out for 28 days. Observation of growth parameters was carried out on the entire population, 140 fish, while organ preparation was carried out on a sample of three fish from each treatment. Fish samples were taken using a stratified random sampling technique. Research parameters include gill weight, primary lamela length (LP) and secondary lamela lenght (LS). The results showed the highest gill weight at control 1.76 ± 0.47 g and the lowest at P1 1.20 ± 0.25 g, although it did not significantly different. The highest gill weight/ body weight at control 0.06 ± 0.02 g and the lowest P1 and P2 0.04 ± 0.00 g, although it did not significantly different. Primary lamela length (LP) was highest at P3 1250.34 ± 294.81 μm and lowest at Control 894.78 ± 399.10 μm, and it was significantly different. Secondary lamela lenght (LS) was highest at P3 33.69 ± 4.34 μm and lowest at P1 29.12 ± 5.29 μm. Among controls, P2 and P3; LS length did not significantly different. Microplastic PE up to 1.00 mg/ 0.75 g of feed does not result in a decrease of gill weight and elongation of secondary lamela, but results in significant lengthening of primary lamela.

Abstract:
Phenotypic variation of 15 provenances for some tratis of cone and seeds collected in natural stands are analysed. The traits used in the analysis are lenght, width and ratio lenght/width in cones, weight of seeds, number of full, empty and no-developped seeds per cone. Provenances have significant differences for all the traits: that ones characterising cone size and shape, and the other ones relating the size and number of seeds per cone. All these characters have a moderate to high repetibility within tree (r2=0.3-0.8). There is a continous variation between provenances, but there are not geographic or climatic groups of provenances. Random variation due to local factors could explain the performance or the spanish provenances in these traits.

Abstract:
The large (102–105) and strongly temperature dependent resistive anisotropy η=(σab/σc)1/2 of cuprates perhaps holds the key to understanding their normal state in-plane σab and out-of-plane σc conductivities. It can be shown that η is determined by the ratio of the phase coherence lenghts ℓi in the respective directions: [Formula: see text]. In layered crystals in which the out-of-plane transport is incoherent, ℓc is fixed, equal to the interlayer spacing. As a result, the T-dependence of η is determined by that of ℓab, and vice versa, the in-plane phase coherence lenght can be obtained directly by measuring the resistive anisotropy. We present data for hole-doped YBa2Cu3Oy (6.3<y<6.9) and Y1-xPrxBa2O7-δ(0<x≤0.55) and show that σcb of crystals with different doping levels can be well described by a two parameter universal function of the in-plane phase coherence length. In the electron-doped Nd2-xCexCuO4-y, the dependence σab(η) indicates a crossover from incoherent transport in the c-direction.

We have posed a simple but interesting graph theoretic problem and posited a heuristic solution procedure, which we have christened as Vectored Route-lenght Minimization (VeRMin). Basically, it constitutes a re-casting of the classical "shortest route" problem in a strictly Euclidean space. We have presented only a heuristic solution process hoping that a formal proof will eventually emerge as the problem receives wider exposure within mathematical circles.

Abstract:
Abnormal length of first stage of labor in nulliparous women (first pregnancy) can be related by severe anxiety during labor. Based on the preliminary survey in several private maternity clinics at the working area of Delitua Puskesmas, Deli Serdang District, it was found that there was a prolonged first stage of labor (27.65%) in nulliparous women. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of anxiety level to the lenght of first stage of labor. The type of this study was an analytic survey with explanatory research type. The samples comprised 40 childbearing women in private maternity clinics of Kasih Ibu,Kurnia,Tanjung,Wanda, and Mayana which were located in the working area of Delitua Puskesmas , Deli Serdang District, using accidental sampling technique. The data were gathered by using questionnaires and analyzed in univariet analysis by using frequency distribution form, and bivariate analysis using Chi Square test. The result of this study showed that the level of anxiety (p = 0.001) significantly related the lenght of first stage of labor in which mothers who had severe anxiety. It is recomended that health providers should provide standardized services to childbearing women, especially to nulliparous women, so that their level of anxiety can be decreased facing the first stage of labor process. It is also recommended that the husbands should support their wives by positive behaviors so they will not think about bad things on their babies and on themselves.
