Abstract:
The mining of cube gradients is an extension of traditional association rules mining in data cube and has broad applications. In this paper, we consider the problem of mining constrained cube gradients for partially materialized data cubes. Its purpose is to extract interesting gradient-probe cell pairs from partially materialized cubes while adding or deleting cells. Instead of directly searching the new data cubes from scratch, an incremental mining algorithm IncA is presented, which sufficiently uses the mined cube gradients from old data cubes. In our algorithms, the condensed cube structure is used to reduce the sizes of materialized cubes. Moreover, some efficient methods are presented in IncA to optimize the comparison process of cell pairs. The performance studies show the incremental mining algorithm IncA is more efficient and scalable than the directed mining algorithm DA with different constraints and sizes of materialized data cubes.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the construction method of pandiagonal magic cube. First, we define a pandiagonal Latin cube. According to this definition, the cube can be constructed by simple methods. After designing a set of orthogonal pandiagonal Latin cubes, the corresponding order pandiagonal magic cube can be constructed. In addition, we give the algebraic conditions of the universal diagonal Latin cube orthogonality and the strict theoretical proof. Based on the proposed method, it can be shown that at least 6(n!)3 pandiagonal magic cubes of order n is formed through a pandiagonal Latin cube. Moreover, our method is easy to implement by computer program.

Abstract:
In the paper, the author analyzes and compares cube examples in Wittgenstein’s works, especially the cube from TLP (TLP 1974 5.5432) and the cube from PPF (ex PI II) (PPF 2009 116). There is no direct evidence that the PPF–cube is a reaction to the “grave mistake” of the TLP–cube. Also, there is no evidence that the TLP–cube is a representation of the Necker’s cube (1832), although it resembles the Jastrow’s cube (1900). These are negative results. Both cubes present important ideas of TLP and PPF (PI). Also, Wittgenstein writes that he “purposely chose” the example of the cube in PI and PPF, perhaps to show one of the “grave mistakes” of the TLP–cube. By analysis of the Necker’s cube and comparison of drawings and accompanied text of the TLP–cube and the PPF–cube the author tries to explicate some possible implicit pictorial aspects of Wittgenstein’s thought and of the general nature philosophical thinking as pictorial.

Abstract:
We present a new interconnection topology called the Padovan cube. Despite their asymmetric and relatively sparse interconnections, the Padovan cubes are shown to possess attractive recurrent structures. Since they can be embedded in a subgraph of the Boolean cube and can have a Fibonacci cube as a subgraph, and since they are also a supergraph of other structures, it is possible that the Padovan cubes can be useful in fault-tolerant computing. For a graph with n vertices, we characterize the Padovan cubes. We also include the number of edges, decompositions, and embeddings, as well as the diameter of the Padovan cubes.

Abstract:
The hypercube is one of the best models for the network topology of a distributed system. Recently, Padovan cubes and Lucas–Padovan cubes have been introduced as new interconnection topologies. Despite their asymmetric and relatively sparse interconnections, the Padovan and Lucas–Padovan cubes are shown to possess attractive recurrent structures. In this paper, we determine the cube polynomial of Padovan cubes and Lucas–Padovan cubes, as well as the generating functions for the sequences of these cubes. Several explicit formulas for the coefficients of these polynomials are obtained, in particular, they can be expressed with convolved Padovan numbers and Lucas–Padovan numbers. In particular, the coefficients of the cube polynomials represent the number of hypercubes, a symmetry inherent in Padovan and Lucas–Padovan cubes. Therefore, cube polynomials are very important for characterizing these cubes.

Abstract:
In the Big Data warehouse context, a column-oriented NoSQL database system is considered as the storage model which is highly adapted to data warehouses and online analysis. Indeed, the use of NoSQL models allows data scalability easily and the columnar store is suitable for storing and managing massive data, especially for decisional queries. However, the column-oriented NoSQL DBMS do not offer online analysis operators (OLAP). To build OLAP cubes corresponding to the analysis contexts, the most common way is to integrate other software such as HIVE or Kylin which has a CUBE operator to build data cubes. By using that, the cube is built according to the row-oriented approach and does not allow to fully obtain the benefits of a column-oriented approach. In this article, the focus is to define a cube operator called MC-CUBE (MapReduce Columnar CUBE), which allows building columnar NoSQL cubes according to the columnar approach by taking into account the non-relational and distributed aspects when data warehouses are stored.

In this article we present the solution of the magic cube of fourth order made up of natural numbers using the general algorithm introduced by us, and the properties of this cube were analyzed. We noticed that the properties of magic cubes are valid for any nurnbers (rational, irrational, ete). These properties of the magic cube that made up rnagic square slices have shown that there is a strong relationship among the numbers that were assigned to the squares in the cube. Because of this relationship in magic cubes and magic squares the rnass and the geometrical centers are overlaps each other. These are the important findings of the general algorithm that we found.

Abstract:
High-frequency disturbance forest ecosystems undergo complex and frequent changes at various spatiotemporal scales owing to natural and anthropogenic factors. Effectively capturing the characteristics of these spatiotemporal changes from satellite image time series is a powerful and practical means for determining their causes and predicting their trends. Herein, we combined the spatiotemporal cube and vegetation indices to develop the improved spatiotemporal cube (IST-cube) model. We used this to acquire the spatiotemporal dynamics of forest ecosystems from 1987 to 2020 in the study area and then classified it into four spatiotemporal scales. The results showed that the cube-core only exists in the increasing IST-cubes, which are distributed in residential areas and forests. The length of the IST-cube implies the duration of triggers. Human activities result in long-term small-scope IST-cubes, and the impact in the vicinity of residential areas is increasing while there is no change within. Meteorological disasters cause short-term, large scope, and irregular impacts. Land use type change causes short-term small scope IST-cubes and a regular impact. Overall, we report the robustness and strength of the IST-cube model in capturing spatiotemporal changes in forest ecosystems, providing a novel method to examine complex changes in forest ecosystems via remote sensing.

Abstract:
Since the 1970s, the Rubik’s Cube puzzle has intrigued millions of people. It did not take long until people tried to solve the cube as fast as possible, and started to compete. However, in recent years, a new trend of robots solving the cube has flourished. The purpose of this project was to investigate time and precision aspects of a Rubik’s cube solving robot. A four armed robot was designed and a system was built. The construction made it possible to first scan the cube using a webcam and solve the cube by letting the robot perform the movements necessary for solving. Differences in time for different scrambles was analyzed as well as the robot’s precision. Since the robot only had four arms, the results showed differences in turning the up- and downside of the cube. To get access to these sides, the robot had to perform a flip motion. Since the software used was not optimized to minimize these moves there were differences in solving time. Moreover, the robot’s precision differed depending on its setup and how fast it was programmed to go. Two different setups was compared, one being slow and having big margins between each move and the other one being more rapid. Both setups worked, although calibration was more crucial for the faster one.

Abstract:
In todays society there are microprocessors in almost every new item that is produced for home use. They are all being connected and smart, and by that microcontrollers are playing an increasingly important role in peoples private life. In this thesis in mechatronics a controller will be implemented on an Arduino to make it possible for a cube to balance in upright position. The cube is in theory an inverted pendulum with one degree of freedom, and is intended to balance using an inertia wheel at the top of the structure. A PID regulator was used, and at the time this report was written, the right parameter values for the PID was not found. The cube is able to shift its position back and forth over the setpoint with support on each side to prevent it from falling. A bit more tuning is required to make it balance on its own

Abstract:
The International Space Station provides a high-quality of microgravity and extended exposure time which makes it a platform of choice for microgravity research. In order to increase accessibility of onboard experimentation, Space Applications Services will soon launch the ICE Cubes facility as part of its ICE Cubes Service. The facility is foreseen to host standardized plug-and-play payload cubes to reduce overall cost and procedure time required to install payloads on the station. To remotely support the facility it is decided to develop a utility cube named Cube-Zero that will be launched and installed with the facility on the station. This thesis work included the complete design, development and documentation of the cube. The thesis started by conducting a preliminary needs and market study from which two specific purposes were defined for the cube. In addition to its original function of support-utility, the cube is tasked to be a technical commercial demonstrator for the service. This led to the conceptual design of the cube as a multidisciplinary framework able to host two user-defined experiment modules. The preliminary concept was further refined in this paper and with support of prototypes, simulations and analyses led to a final functional design for the Cube-Zero. The work is concluded with the manufacturing of an engineering model of the cube. The model is fully operational, can support the test of the facility before launch and can demonstrate to users its versatility and ease of use in operating any kind of experiment module. Eventually, the information gathered in this thesis report will support future users into developing their own Cube-Zero payload module and guide Space Applications Services into manufacturing, testing and operating the Cube-Zero protoflight model.

Abstract:
The retroreflective properties of a corner cube can substantially reduce the need for alignment accuracy in optical chip-to-chip interconnections. We specially designed corner cubes with dihedral angles slightly different from right angles, so that the reflected beams are split into two-, four-, five-, or six-spot image patterns for a point source, depending on the dihedral angles. Arbitrary spot pat terns may be obtained with a corner-cube design by mean sofa ray-tracing and iteration procedure. We have shown that under the paraxial condition, these corner cubes are not sensitive to variations of the incident angles. When the source is laterally shifted by some misalignment, the spot pattern will follow the source and will suffer a second-order infinitesimal deformation. Corner-cube reflectors can be made in the form of micro-tetrahedral prisms with dimensions of several microns that will allow a high fanout number. We propose a geometric arrangement for positioning the sources and detectors on the chip and have demonstrated a 4-cube network in a space-invariant interconnection system using two corner cubes, each having a six-spot image pattern.
