Abstract:
Réfléchir sur la spécificité langagière sourde et au sentiment identitaire qui l’accompagne, c’est d’abord et avant tout interroger le sens commun qui veut que les Sourds gesticulent pour communiquer. Pourtant, les Sourds ont une langue qui ne se résume pas à un ensemble de mouvements substituant le geste à la parole ou à des adaptations de l’oralité à la gestualité. En fait, cette différence linguistique est plurielle : il existe des langues, qui véhiculent et sont véhiculées par autant de communautés identitaires sourdes. Le rapport des Sourds à ces langues se fait à travers une rhétorique ancrant paradoxalement la différence langagière sourde dans une caractéristique qui serait naturelle aux Sourds, une sorte d’inclination spontanée ramenant bien souvent la langue des signes à des gestes quasi instinctifs et souvent conçus comme innés. La langue des signes serait en quelque sorte une essence qui relie les Sourds entre eux. Le présent article propose d’explorer trois axes d’interprétation du lien entre langues des signes et corps sourds.

Abstract:
L'analyse des emplois conjugués du wolof, des langues locales et du français dans les interactions entre clients et vendeurs d'appartenance ethnique variée s'est faite à partir de relevés sur fiche codée d'une part, de transcriptions directes d'autre part. On tente de répondre à la question suivante : quel sens social revêt l'usage du wolof dans le processus dynamique de son contact avec les autres langues ? Le wolof tend à s'imposer à Ziguinchor comme langue commerciale ; pourtant son usage n'est pas encore catégorique. La compétence variable des interactants entraîne certes des adaptations réciproques dont témoignent les alternances de langues. Mais ces changements résultent principalement du jeu commercial : pour le vendeur, vendre au meilleur prix et se faire une clientèle, pour le client, acquérir au moindre prix. Rapprochement, mise à distance, ou équilibre des parties s’instaurent donc au travers de stratégies d'alternance discursive, qui mettent en relief les tensions sociales et interpersonnelles sous-jacentes. Les choix de langues sont porteurs de significations changeantes selon les lieux, les circonstances et l'âge, le sexe et l’appartenance ethnique des interactants. Si la poussée du wolof est manifeste dans le centre ville, elle est plus limitée à la périphérie. Son usage s'inscrit dans le cadre d'un plurilinguisme normal à Ziguinchor et les langues et les identités locales restent présentes, dans les zones périphériques surtout. Une identité plus neutre, urbaine, voire nationale, prend cependant corps au travers du choix du wolof dans les interactions.

Résumé Le québécisme nordicité: de Ia néologie à Ia lexicalisation – Nordicité - état de « Nord » - reçoit ses premiers contextes en français en 1965, et, en anglais, quelques années après. Plus tard, le mot apparaît dans des titres. Au cours de la décennie 1980, les grands dictionnaires Larousse et Robert le consignent. Servant de tronc, il donne naissance à un corpus d'une soixantaine d'entrées en langue française. Le nordic nord-américain conduira à nordicity. Des adaptations du mot existent en quelques autres langues. L'étude de cette évolution vocabulairique apporte quelques lumières sur l'histoire des racines nord\north, le sens Scandinave du tronc nordique, la création lexicale elle-même, les avantages et inconvénients de toute entité, le cheminement des signifiants auprès des usagers, les processus de lexicalisation, l'apport québécois aux parlers hors-Québec ainsi que la double destinée d'un mot en langue courante et d'un terme en langue de spécialités.

Nous présentons une série de trois études réalisées sur un corpus rassemblant les productions de 15 mères lisant une histoire à leur enfant (langage adressé à l’enfant – LAE) et à un adulte familier (langage adressé à l’adulte – LAA), afin d’en décrire les spécificités prosodiques et vocaliques dans trois langues différentes (français, anglais, japonais). Les analyses montrent qu’au niveau prosodique, les différentes unités sont plus allongées, la vitesse d’articulation plus lente et la hauteur plus élevée en LAE et que les mots de fonction sont minimalisés par rapport aux mots de contenu dans les deux modalités et particulièrement en LAE. Par ailleurs, on observe une diminution de l’aire du triangle vocalique en LAE, dans les trois langues, mais également une descente de ce triangle sur l’axe de l’aperture. Les implications du LAE sur l’acquisition du langage sont discutées.

L ’objectif de ce travail est d’évaluer le dédeveloppement lexical, précoce chez les enfants bilingues et d’explorer le lien possible entre la, taille du vocabulaire et les fonctions exécutives. Nous avons testé 15,bilingues français-portugais (7 de 16 mois et 8 de 24 mois). Leur, développement langagier a été évalué avec l'Inventaire du développement, communicatif français et portugais (adaptations du CDI MacArthur-Bates, Fenson et al., 2007). Des questionnaires parentaux ont été utilisés pour,évaluer la dominance linguistique (PaBiQ, Tuller, 2015), les stades de, développement (ASQ-3™, Squires et al., 2009) et les fonctions exécutives,(BRIEF-P, Gioia, Aspy, … Isquith, 2003). Nous avons calculé la taille du, vocabulaire dans chacune des langues, le vocabulaire total et le vocabulaire, conceptuel total et comparé avec les normes des monolingues. Presque, tous les participants ont un vocabulaire total dans chacune des langues,(français ou portugais) et un vocabulaire conceptuel total similaire à celui, des monolingues portugais et français. Leur vocabulaire total,(français+portugais) est par contre supérieur à celui des monolingues. Il, existe une corrélation entre la taille du vocabulaire et la mémoire de travail,(Stokes & Klee, 2009), mais aucune avec l'inhibition. Ces résultats donnent, un meilleur aperçu du processus de développement du langage bilingue.

L’attitude la plus courante est de séparer les techniques, les sciences, les arts et les langues. Malheureusement, en perdant de vue leur origine commune, nous perdons les moyens de les associer dans nos apprentissages et nos pédagogies. Ceux-ci et celles-ci doivent se fonder dans l’intérité humaine. Cela rend nécessaire des références anthropologiques aux adaptations humaines et des références géo-historiques à leurs développements conjoints. C’est sur ces bases que sciences et arts pédagogiques vont permettre les échanges appropriés entre les personnes singulières en interaction dans et hors du groupe classe. Cette nouvelle pédagogie des langues-cultures les situe dans une humanité en devenir ouvert : concurrentiel, conflictuel, complémentaire. Elle pourra mieux se comprendre et se renforcer à partir d’œuvres comme celles de Giorgio Agamben, de François Jullien et d’Henri Van Lier. La plupart des titres susmentionnés ont été traduits en plusieurs langues et certains ont vu le jour au grand écran, ce pourquoi il m’a semblé particulièrement intéressant de le questionner à nouveau (plusieurs autres entretiens portent sur son avis concernant les adaptations les plus anciennes) sur ce phénomène visant à porter un texte de théâtre au cinéma.

Abstract:
Cette thèse analyse les effets des facteurs sociaux et linguistiques dans les adaptations et non-adaptations des emprunts de l'espagnol en nahuatl. Notre travail s'est déroulé à Tagcotepec, une communauté nahuatl, d'environ 500 habitants, dans la Sierra Norte de Puebla, au Mexique. Nous avons travaillé avec 71 locuteurs, qui forment un échantillon représentatif des caractéristiques sociolinguistiques de la communauté, telles que âge, sexe, niveau de bilinguisme et secteur d'habitation. Nos données proviennent des enregistrements de la parole spontanée. Notre base de données compte 776 mots d'emprunt, pour un total de 4619 tokens. Le pourcentage global d'adaptation est de 16% et nos résultats montrent que la probabilité de l'adaptation des emprunts varie en fonction (1) du type de cible, (2) du secteur d'habitation, (3) du groupe d'âge auquel appartient le locuteur, (4) du nombre de syllabes du mot d'emprunt, (5) du type (plus ou moins familier) d'allocutaire, (6) de la fréquence d'utilisation du mot d'emprunt, (7) du nombre de cibles contenues dans l'emprunt, et (8) du contexte de production de l'emprunt (mot isolé ou dans une phrase). D'après nos résultats obtenus par l'analyse de règle variable (VARBRUL), le niveau de bilinguisme du locuteur n'est pas un facteur significatif pour l'adaptation des emprunts
This study analyses the effects of social and linguistic factors on the adaptations and non-adaptations of Spanish borrowings into Nahuatl. Fieldwork was carried out in Tagcotepec, a Nahuatl community of 500 in Puebla, Mexico. Data were collected using a stratified sample of 71 speakers, representative of the sociolinguistic traits of the community, in terms of age, sex, level of bilingualism, and location within the village. The compiled database consists of 776 loanwords for a total of 4619 tokens. The mean percentage of adaptation was 16%, and a multivariate analysis of the data reveals that the likeliness of adaptation depends on (1) the type of illicit segment, (2) the part of the village the speaker lives in, (3) the speaker's age group, (4) the number of syllables in the loanword, (5) the social and emotional distance between speaker and addressee, (6) the frequency of the loanword, (7) the number of illicit segments contained in the loanword, and (8) whether or not the loanword was produced in isolation. According to our results obtained through Variable Rule Analysis (VARBRUL), the level of bilingualism of speakers is not significant for loanword adaptation

L’objectif de la thèse consiste à décrire et analyser l’emprunt linguistique français en roumain. Le but est de dégager la place de l’adaptation et de l’imitation dans le transfert phonétique, graphique et sémantique entre deux langues ayant la même origine romane, mais deux systèmes différents. Dans un premier temps, nous présentons le cadre théorique de l’influence française en Roumanie : sa spécificité, les prémices qui l’ont engendrée, les domaines de manifestation et les différentes étapes du contact franco-roumain. Dans la seconde partie, nous analysons le transfert de signifiants français en roumain, dans le biais écrit / oral : d’une part, l’adaptation et l’imitation des lettres et, d’autre part, l’adaptation et l’imitation des sons et de l’accent tonique. Enfin, la troisième partie étudie le transfert de signifiés français en roumain, tant dans l’emprunt sémantique que dans l’emprunt lexical. Dans l’adaptation sémantique, l’analyse quantitative fait apparaître les notions d’extension et de restriction de sens ; l’analyse qualitative introduit les concepts de segmentation, spécialisation et glissement sémantiques
The aim of this thesis consists in representing and analysing the french linguistic borrowing in romanian language. Purpose is to define the place of adaptation and imitation in the phonetic, graphic and semantic transfer between two languages having the same romanic origin, but two different systems. At first, we introduce the theoretical frame of french influence in Romania: its peculiarity, the premises which procreated it, the manifestation domains and different stages of franco-romanian contact. In the second part, we analyse the transfer of french signifiers in romanian language, within the framework of the written / oral bias: on one hand, adaptation and imitation of letters and, on the other hand, adaptation and imitation of sounds and tonic accent. Finally, the third part is a survey of the transfer of french signifieds in romanian language, both in the semantic borrowing and in the lexical borrowing. In the case of the semantic adaptation, a quantitative analysis employs the notions of extension and restriction of sense ; a qualitative analysis employs the concepts of segmentation, semantic specialization and semantic sliding

La catégorisation grammaticale automatique est un domaine où il reste encore beaucoup à faire. De très bons catégoriseurs existent pour l'anglais, mais ceux dont dispose la communauté francophone sont beaucoup moins efficaces. Nous avons donc entraîné le catégoriseur de Brill pour le français pour ensuite en améliorer les résultats. Par ailleurs, quelle que soit la technique utilisée, certains problèmes restent irrésolus. Les mots inconnus sont toujours difficiles à catégoriser correctement. Nous avons tenté de trouver des solutions à ce problème. En somme, nous avons apporté une série de modifications à l'approche de Brill et évalué l'impact de celles-ci sur les performances. Les modifications apportées ont permis de faire passer les performances du traitement des mots inconnus français de 70,7% à 78,6%. Nous avons donc amélioré sensiblement les performances bien qu'il reste encore beaucoup de travail à faire avant que le traitement des mots inconnus français soit satisfaisant.

This thesis is a case study of some aspects of the adaptation of English words in several Australian Aboriginal languages, including Martu Wangka, Gamilaraay and Warlpiri. I frame my analysis within Smith’s (to appear) source-similarity model of loanword adaptation. This model exploits loanword-specific faithfulness constraints that impose maximal similarity between the perceived source form and its corresponding loan. Using this model, I show that the conflict of the relevant prosodic markedness constraints and loanword-specific faithfulness constraints drives adaptation. Vowel epenthesis, the most frequent adaptation strategy, allows the recoverability of a maximal amount of information about the source form and ensures that the loan conforms to the constraints of language-internal phonological grammar. Less frequent strategies including deletion and substitution occur in a restricted environment. The essence of the present analysis is minimal violation, a principle that governs loanword adaptation as well as other areas of phonology.

Celle-ci reposant sur le postulat d'une coherence des traitements phonetiques, il a ete possible de trouver des elements discriminants permettant d'etablir sur des bases plus solides l'extension du corpus des mots effectivement latins. Ce faisant, on a pu remonter partiellement la chaine des evolutions phonetiques subies par l'albanais, et presenter une image, quoiqu'incomplete, des systemes vocalique et consonantique de l'albanais a l'epoque des contacts avec le latin. Il apparait en definitivce que la situation linguistique confuse des balkans modernes est bien anterieurs a la periode de l'occupation turque
In this work, the albanian vocabulary usually said to be of latin has been subjected to a completely renewed phonetic and morphologic enquiry, the aim of which was to define more precisely the extension of latin influence upon albanian. Starting from the postulate that all the words have been put through coherent phonetic changes or adaptations, this work ends with a new file of borrowed words. By doing so, it has been also possible to give an idea of proto-albanian phonologic system at the time of the linguistic contacts between albanian ancestors and latin-speeking people, which is not of minor interest for albanology. It fanally appears that the very confuse linguistic situation of the balkan peninsula is to be reported to a pre-ottoman time

Cette thèse est la continuation d’un travail, qui a pour objectif d’expliquer le phénomène des emprunts et leurs adaptations phonologiques. La recherche se fonde sur la consultation du journal brésilien du XIXème siècle ‘A Gazetinha’, où l’on trouve un grand nombre de mots français. Ainsi, nous partons d’un corpus écrit, ce qui nous a conduit à réfléchir sur le rôle de l’orthographe dans le résultat de l’adaptation. Notre recherche dans la littérature sur les emprunts, nous a permis d’isoler deux aspects : les adaptations phonologiques des mots français en portugais et la frontière entre l’étymologie et les emprunts. Ce travail contribue à la description de la langue portugaise et de sa phonologie à partir des processus d’adaptation d’emprunts français, et, en outre, à la description des vocabulaires du portugais européen et du portugais brésilien à partir de leurs dictionnaires étymologiques et monolingues. Nos hypothèses fondamentales sont que l’orthographe et la connaissance du français ont un rôle dans le processus d’adaptation ; les locuteurs portugais et les brésiliens peuvent adapter différemment des mots français ; les vocabulaires européen et brésilien peuvent présenter des différences en ce qui concerne les mots d’origine française. Notre méthodologie pour vérifier les adaptations phonologiques consiste en l’application d’un test basé sur l’article The influence of orthography on loanword adaptations, de Vendelin et Peperkamp (2006). Le test a été adapté à notre sujet et appliqué aux locuteurs brésiliens ainsi qu’aux portugais afin de comparer les résultats. Nous envisageons dans notre travail six phonèmes français précis. Les résultats du test sur les adaptations phonologiques révèlent qu’il n’y a pas de différence de choix d’adaptation entre les locuteurs européens et les brésiliens au niveau phonologique. Les adaptations sont toujours vers la langue d’accueil, le portugais. Cependant, l’orthographe et la connaissance du français semblent liées comme facteurs agissants dans le processus quand le locuteur en a besoin. Les subtiles différences d’adaptations n’apparaissent qu’au niveau phonétique, en obéissant aux phénomènes de la langue portugaise. A propos du deuxième aspect de cette recherche- la frontière entre l’étymologie et les emprunts-, nous utilisons comme méthode la consultation de dictionnaires étymologiques et monolingues du portugais pour établir un cadre de discussion où sont comparées leurs informations sur l’origine des mots. Après une analyse de donnés, nous vérifions que les informations sont assez contrastées pour empêcher une lecture facile, qu’on soit linguiste ou non. Notre conclusion est que les dictionnaires ne sont pas une ressource de recherche aux informations incontestables et que d’autres études et réflexions sont encore nécessaires
The main objective of this thesis is to understand the phenomenon of loanwords and their phonological adaptations. The research was based on consulting the Brazilian newspaper of the nineteenth century 'A Gazetinha', whose use of French words is common. Thus, we start with a written corpus, which makes us think about the role of orthography in loanword adaptations. After our research in the literature about loanwords, we focused on two aspects: the phonological adaptation of French words in Portuguese and the link between etymology and loanwords. This work contributes to the description of the Portuguese lexicon and its phonology from the process of adaptation of French loans. In addition, we contribute to the description of Portuguese vocabulary from their etymological dictionaries and monolingual. Our assumptions are that the orthography and knowledge of French play a role in the adaptation process; Portuguese and Brazilian speakers may show differences to adapt the French words; European and Brazilian vocabulary may show differences related with words of French origin. Our methodology for assessing the phonological adaptation involves the application of a test based on the article The influence of orthography on loanwords adaptations of Vendelin & Peperkamp (2006). The test has been adapted to our subject and applied to Brazilian and Portuguese speakers to compare the results. We analyze six French phonemes in this work. The test results on phonological adaptations show that there is no difference in choice of adaptation between European and Brazilian speakers at the phonological level. Adaptations are always to the target language, Portuguese. However, orthography and knowledge of French appear to be related and active factors in the process when the speaker is needed. The subtle differences in adaptation are only on the phonetic level, obeying the phenomena of Portuguese.Concerning the second aspect studied- the relation between etymology and loanwords-, we use as a research method the consultation of etymological and monolingual dictionaries of Portuguese to establish a framework for discussion comparing their information about the origins of words. After a data analysis, we verify that the information is quite contrasting, which prevents easy reading to any reader, not just to linguists. Our conclusion is that dictionaries are not a source of research with compelling information and other studies and discussions are still needed

Dans cette thèse nous proposons une interface de programmation pour aider les développeurs dans leur tâche d'optimisation de programme par calcul approché. Cette interface prend la forme d'extensions aux langages de programmation pour indiquer au compilateur quelles parties du programme peuvent utiliser ce type de calcul. Le compilateur se charge alors de transformer les parties du programme visées pour rendre l'application adaptative, allouant plus de ressources aux endroits où une précision importante est requise et utilisant des approximations où la précision peut être moindre. Nous avons automatisé la découverte des paramètres d'optimisation que devrait fournir l'utilisateur pour les codes à stencil, qui sont souvent rencontrés dans des applications de traitement du signal, traitement d'image ou simulation numérique. Nous avons exploré des techniques de compression automatique de données pour compléter la génération de code adaptatif. Nous utilisons la transformée en ondelettes pour compresser les données et obtenir d'autres informations qui peuvent être utilisées pour trouver les zones avec des besoins en précision plus importantes
In this thesis we introduce a new application programming interface to help developers to optimize an application with approximate computing techniques. This interface is provided as a language extension to advise the compiler about the parts of the program that may be optimized with approximate computing and what can be done about them. The code transformations of the targeted regions are entirely handled by the compiler to produce an adaptive software. The produced adaptive application allocates more computing power to the locations where more precision is required, and may use approximations where the precision is secondary. We automate the discovery of the optimization parameters for the special class of stencil programs which are common in signal/image processing and numerical simulations. Finally, we explore the possibility of compressing the application data using the wavelet transform and we use information found in this basis to locate the areas where more precision may be needed

Le traitement de la parole est devenu une technologie clé et des systèmes de reconnaissance automatique de la parole (RAP) sont disponibles pour les langues populaires. Les utilisateurs de tels systèmes ne sont pas toujours des locuteurs natals et les conversations sont souvent un mélange de langues variées. Alors, un système pour la reconnaissance de plusieurs langues est nécessaire. Dans le cadre de la RAP multilingue et avec l'objectif de la modélisation acoustique universelle, cette thèse vise le «portage» des modèles acoustiques (MA) d'une langue peu-dotées à partir des MA d'une langue populaire. L’approche dite «portage» consiste à trouver une association entre les unités de la langue source et celles de la langue cible, initialiser les MA cibles à partir de cette association et finalement adapter ces modèles avec peu de données. Des méthodes «knowledge-driven» et «data-driven» sont étudiées pour l’association entre l’Arabe Standard (langue cible) et le Français (langue source) pour différents types d’élocution et d’applications. A partir des associations obtenues, chaque MA HMM cible indépendant du contexte (CI) est initialisé d'un seul modèle acoustique HMM source et une adaptation de ces modèles est appliquée. Pour l’initialisation des MA cible a partir de plusieurs MA source, de nouveaux modèles «multi-path» sont proposés. En plus, Les MA dépendant du contexte (CD) sont meilleure que ceux indépendant du contexte pour la RAP monolingue et multilingue. Alors, différentes méthodes sont ainsi proposées pour porter des MA CD d’une langue source à une langue cible avec peu de données. Speech processing has become a key technology where different automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems are available for popular languages. With the constant interaction of different cultures, not all users of such systems are native speakers & conversations are often a mixture of several languages which is challenging for ASR. Therefore, a multilingual ASR system is needed. This thesis focuses on efficiently porting the acoustic models (AM) of an under resourced target language using the acoustic models of a more resourced source language with the goal of universal acoustic modeling. Different approaches are suggested & tested for porting models for the recognition of Modern Standard Arabic starting from French for different types of speech & applications. Porting includes the association of speech units, initialization & adaptation of AM. Initially, methods are proposed for the creation of one-to-one phone associations by a human expert or using an automatic data-driven approach. Initialization is done at the context independent level by copying Hidden Markov Models (HMM) target language phone models from a source language HMM phone model based on these associations. Resulting models are adapted using different amounts of target language data. Then, novel methods for one-to-many associations are introduced & multi-path models are used for initialization. Moreover, since the superiority of context dependency extends to cross-lingual & multilingual, different approaches are proposed to create context dependent AM for the under resourced target language using robust AM from a source language. Approaches are also validated for a new language, Colloquial Levantine Arabic

The essay presents the reception of Jane Eyre on the Indian subcontinent. It examines the Indian motif within Brontë’s novel, surveys seven literary and cinematographic Jane Eyre adaptations in five Indian languages produced between 1914 and 1972, discusses the history of Indian translation practices and presents eighteen Jane Eyre translations into nine Indian languages that appeared between 1953 and 2020, and finally synoptically analyses four passages from two literal translations into Hindi and Kannada and an abridged translation into Gujarati. Throughout, the essay proposes a new approach to narrative analysis based on an Indian dramaturgical model, a new definition of translation and adaptation based on the Indian philosophical notion of transformation, and a new criterion drawn from Indian poetics for distinguishing between the notions of adaptation, abridgement, and translation.

AbstractProactive adaptation, in which the adaptation for a system’s reliable goal achievement is performed by predicting changes in the environment, is considered as an effective alternative to reactive adaptation, in which adaptation is performed after observing changes. When predicting the environmental changes, the prediction may be uncertain, so it is necessary to verify and confirm an adaptation’s consequences before execution. To resolve the uncertainty, probabilistic model checking (PMC) has been utilized for verification of adaptation tactics’ effects on the goal of a self-adaptive system (SAS). However, PMC-based approaches have limitations on the state-explosion problem of complex SAS model verification and the modeling languages supported by the model checkers. In this paper, to overcome the limitations of the PMC-based approaches, we propose an efficient Proactive Adaptation approach based on STAtistical model checking (PASTA). Our approach allows SASs to mitigate the uncertainty of the future environment, faster than the PMC-based approach, by producing statistically sufficient samples for verification of adaptation tactics based on statistical model checking (SMC) algorithms. We provide algorithmic processes, a reference architecture, and an open-source implementation skeleton of PASTA for engineers to apply it for SAS development. We evaluate PASTA on two SASs using actual data and show that PASTA is efficient comparing to the PMC-based approach. We also provide a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of PMC- and SMC-based proactive adaptation to guide engineers’ decision-making for SAS development.

Abstract:
In fine-grained opinion mining, the task of aspect extraction involves the identification of explicit product features in customer reviews. This task has been widely studied in some major languages, e.g., English, but was seldom addressed in other minor languages due to the lack of annotated corpus. To solve it, we develop a novel deep model to transfer knowledge from a source language with labeled training data to a target language without any annotations. Different from cross-lingual sentiment classification, aspect extraction across languages requires more fine-grained adaptation. To this end, we utilize transition-based mechanism that reads a word each time and forms a series of configurations that represent the status of the whole sentence. We represent each configuration as a continuous feature vector and align these representations from different languages into a shared space through an adversarial network. In addition, syntactic structures are also integrated into the deep model to achieve more syntactically-sensitive adaptations. The proposed method is end-to-end and achieves state-of-the-art performance on English, French and Spanish restaurant review datasets.

Abstract:
In the north-east of Argentina, in the province of Misiones, there are speakers of Ukrainian, Polish, Belarusian dialects, descendants of labor migrants who began to settle there since the end of the XIX century. During the field researches carried out from 2015 to 2019, narratives in dialect were collected in these languages. The paper discusses models of verb adaptation borrowed from the Spanish language in the speech of the descendants of Slavic immigrants. Both oral speech recordings and written sources of the dialect are involved (the diary of a migrant from Volhynia, Kirill Wozniuk, written in the South Volhynian dialect of the Ukrainian language). The models of verb adaptation in all three languages are identical.
