Abstract:
Dans ce texte on a étudié les relations entre Langue, Nation et État, particulièrement celles qui existent entre État-Nation et langue nationale. On a étudié également les problèmes ayant trait au rôle des langues officielles dans les pays multinationaux. Finalement, j’ai insisté sur les différences et ressemblances existant entre langue nationale et langue officielle, en suggérant que l’imposition d’une langue unique, qu’elle soit nationale ou officielle, semble être davantage liée à l’existence d’un certain type d’État centralisé qu’à un mode de production particulier.

On ne conçoit pas de langue sans standard. Encore faut-il le définir et l’élaborer, selon les configurations sociolinguistiques et les idéologies linguistiques. On envisagera ces processus dans le cas des grandes langues établies puis des langues minorées, selon le questionnement existant entre centre de prescription unique (mono et unilinguisme) et pluriel (pluricentrisme et polynomie). Ces derniers postulent, l’un un modèle compositionnel, l’autre, l’absence de standard. On montrera comment ces deux notions ont prospéré et trouvent à s’articuler à travers le « jeu » intra et interlinguistique suggéré par le sociolinguiste corse J.-B. Marcellesi pour sa langue, et enfin quelles sont les limitations qu’il présente.

Au Canada, les comportements et les caractéristiques linguistiques des individus sont documentés au moyen d’une grande diversité de questions d’enquête et de recensement. Paradoxalement, cette abondance unique au monde soulève des questionnements méthodologiques importants. En effet, quel indicateur privilégier pour effectuer un suivi de la situation linguistique ? Est-il légitime de s’intéresser à l’évolution de la langue parlée à la maison, qui relève de sphère privée ? Comment comparer entre eux les divers indicateurs linguistiques ? Dans cette note de recherche, les auteurs tentent de montrer que chacun des indicateurs linguistiques dépeint une facette particulière de la question linguistique. La langue étant un phénomène social complexe et multifactoriel, aucun indicateur unique ne saurait décrire à lui seul l’évolution de la situation linguistique. Une méthode permettant de comparer les indicateurs de langue maternelle, de langue d’usage privé (langue parlée à la maison) et de langue d’usage public (langue de travail) est également proposée. Les résultats montrent que l’immigration a un impact négatif sur le poids du français et que, contrairement à ce qui a été affirmé de nombreuses fois par le passé, c’est la langue d’usage public, et non la langue d’usage privé, qui est la plus affectée.

Abstract:
La Loi sur la protection de la langue inuit (LPLI) est une loi récente du Nunavut. Unique en son genre au Canada, elle est plus ambitieuse encore que la Charte de la langue française du Québec. Loi controversée, certains se demandent si le législateur n’aurait pas outrepassé ses pouvoirs en adoptant certaines de ses dispositions. En effet, l’article 3 de la LPLI prétend obliger les ministères, organismes ou institutions du gouvernement fédéral opérant au Nunavut à fournir leurs services destinés au public et à afficher leurs panneaux en langue inuit, alors même que ces organisations agissent à l’intérieur d’un champ de compétence fédérale. Les articles 29, 30 et 34 de la LPLI rendent obligatoire la préparation d’un plan d’action pour la langue inuit précisant la manière dont une organisation entend respecter la loi. Ce plan doit être approuvé par le commissaire aux langues, qui dispose d’un important pouvoir d’enquête relativement au respect de la loi. Au premier abord, ces dispositions semblent contredire la règle aujourd’hui acceptée selon laquelle un ordre de gouvernement peut légiférer en matière de langue dans la mesure où il le fait de manière accessoire à un champ de compétence qui lui est propre. Cette norme tire sa force de certaines particularités de la Loi constitutionnelle de 1867. Toutefois, après analyse, il appert que ce cadre conceptuel ne s’applique pas au Nunavut. Ce dernier détient bel et bien le pouvoir d’imposer sur son territoire l’utilisation de la langue inuit aux ministères, organismes et institutions du gouvernement fédéral.

Abstract:
L'idée que des langues non apparentées pourraient fusionner en une langue du futur unique est l'une des idées-clés de Marr témoignant de son rejet de la tradition indo-européaniste. Mais une analyse plus précise des travaux linguistiques de Marr révèle que cette idée contredit non seulement les conceptions de ses opposants, mais aussi le principe essentiel de sa propre théorie glottogonique, selon laquelle une langue se développe à partir d'un état diffus (diffuznost') et syncrétique vers une spécialisation, d’un état commun vers la diversité. Ce principe est applicable à une langue considérée comme un tout, comme une partie originelle d'un acte magique syncrétique, comme le sont la danse, le chant et la musique ; mais il s'applique aussi à tous les constituants de la langue, tels que la phonétique, le lexique et la grammaire. Appliqué à l'étude de la grammaire, ce principe permet à Marr de se départir de l’approche structurale et de promouvoir sa propre conception de la syntaxe et de la morphologie reconnaissant le rôle prédominant du contenu sur la forme (une approche par le contenu). Bien que critiquées pour avoir réduit le statut de la morphologie à un simple moyen auxiliaire de l'expression formelle, les conceptions de Marr promurent activement les principes de la grammaire fonctionnelle toute récente et offrirent une nouvelle solution pour dépasser l'atomisme et la rigidité du structuralisme.

Le trésor de la langue (1989) est une oeuvre unique en son genre. Sorte de « road movie » sonore, elle explore les dimensions politique, historique et poétique de la langue française parlée au Québec. En rapprochant des matériaux hétérogènes grâce à la technique du collage sonore, René Lussier propose une écoute critique de l’histoire du Québec. Cet entretien retrace la genèse du Trésor de la langue ainsi que certains des enjeux éthiques et politiques de l’utilisation d’archives sonores et d’enregistrements de terrain présents dans cette oeuvre. Il témoigne de la capacité de la musique à investir l’histoire récente afin de répondre à des interrogations communes, au-delà des dits et des non-dits de la mémoire collective et de l’histoire officielle.

Après 17 siècles de léthargie, l’hébreu, langue littéraire et religieuse, recouvre sa vitalité grâce à un processus ayant ses racines dans l’émancipation des Juifs en Europe. Sous l’effet de courants assimilatoires, l’hébreu connaît alors un renouveau littéraire laïc. Cette renaissance littéraire sera à la base de la résurrection de l’hébreu parlé, quand, dans un cadre idéologique totalement différent, les sionistes s’attacheront à l’hébreu comme à un symbole national et travailleront à le faire revivre. L’opiniâtreté des pionniers, et tout particulièrement celle d’Eliézer Ben Yehouda, qui entreprennent la standardisation et la diffusion de l’hébreu, ainsi que les conditions qui se créent en Palestine avec l’afflux d’immigrants de diverses origines, vont permettre à cette langue de redevenir une langue naturelle. Le présent article tente de décrire les aspects historiques, idéologiques et pratiques du phénomène si unique de cette réussite.

La situation du Canada est unique au monde : deux minorités et deux majorités linguistiques se servent mutuellement de raison d’être. Les communautés de langue française et celles de langue anglaise se retrouvent officiellement minoritaires ou majoritaires selon qu’elles sont situées au Québec ou ailleurs. La démolinguistique reste centrale pour les définir. Simple de prime abord, le critère numérique se révèle des plus périlleux puisque très élastique selon les variables retenues. De plus, il fait abstraction de tout critère sociolinguistique. L’article préconise la nécessité d’un modèle plus complexe pour cerner le statut de minorité ou de majorité linguistique.

<span>Édouard Glissant, dans son<em> Traité du Tout-monde</em> paru en 1997 nous propose sa vision d'un monde changeant qui oriente la pensée, le regard humain et génère par-là même une parole ouverte mettant en exergue des identités culturelles inédites. Cette parole cherche à extirper des miasmes de la conscience, du chaos de la mémoire une histoire créatrice. Il s'agit, par le biais de l'écriture, de la langue ou des langues, de percevoir le mystère du vivant ou d'en approcher. </span><span lang="EN-US">Mais l’humain dans “un monde chaos” peut-il se raccrocher à une identité stable en lien avec sa nation, sa langue, sa race, sa religion ou son ethnie? </span><span>Autrui ne s’inscrit-il pas contre son gré dans ce scénario? La relation à l’autre ne vient-elle pas remettre en question ces fondamentaux, ce principe unique? L’Altérité s’organise autour d’un “je” et d’un “nous, d’un jeu entre ces différentes entités, entérinées ou tenues à distance. La poétique de la relation repose sur une opposition que l’auteur qualifie de “bénéfique”, mais si nous sommes plongés dans l’obscurité, en proie à de mystérieuses sensations, mais il importe avant tout d’extraire de tout cela “de nouvelles possibilités créatrices”.</span>

Abstract:
La thèse met en évidence la nécessité de la maîtrise de l’expression orale en français pour la réussite scolaire et socioprofessionnelle dans le contexte burundais. A la faveur d’une analyse de documents et de l’enquête par questionnaire, il y est premièrement mis en évidence l’importance de la langue française dans le paysage linguistique et dans le système éducatif du Burundi. Ensuite, il y est montré l’importance de l’expression orale en français dans la vie professionnelle du milieu intellectuel et dans les média radiodiffusés du pays. En troisième lieu, la prise en charge du développement de l’expression orale en français par l’école est soumise à l’analyse. Ses faiblesses sont mises en exergue grâce à l’analyse de documents pédagogiques, à l’entretien avec des observateurs privilégiés, à l’observation de pratiques de classes et à l’évaluation du niveau atteint à la fin de l’école fondamentale par un test sur la production orale en continue. Il y est enfin proposé des voies de solution pour améliorer la compétence visée par l’étude et l’applicabilité d’un des dispositifs est testée. L’efficience du dispositif pourra être analysée dans une étude quantitative et longitudinale.

Cette thèse porte sur la recherche d’une solution chez le poète russe Vélimir Khlebnikov (1885 - 1922) à travers plusieurs modalités d’écriture. Il s’agit de suivre son travail singulier à la trace en abordant tout d’abord sa pratique poétique, puis la fondation et la théorisation de la langue unique, langue supposée capable d’épuiser la totalité du Réel et enfin les recherches numérales afin de cerner à la fois la spécificité des tentatives de traitement de la jouissance convoquées par chacune de ces démarches et la logique unaire qui caractérise l’œuvre saisissante de Khlebnikov, logique relevant d’une nécessité vitale. La radicalité de l’expérience khlebnikovienne nous incite entre autre à réinterroger les rapports du sujet au signifiant à la lumière de cette démarche et de l’invention qui la caractérise. Le travail de Khlebnikov nous donne également à penser une modalité singulière d’intrication et de désintrication de l’œuvre, du nom et du corps qui ouvre un champ de réflexion concernant les réaménagements structuraux
Vélimir Khlebnikov (1885 - 1922) – a Russian poet, one of the key figures of Russian futurism. This dissertation follows the traces of Khlebnikov’s work through his different modes of writing, looking first at his poetic practice, then his creation and theorisation of a unique language, one that he hoped would be able to exhaust the Real in its totality, and finally his numerical research, in order to identify both the specificity of his attempts to deal with the jouissance proper to each of these processes and the unary logic characteristic of his remarkable body of work, a logic which attests to a vital need. The radical nature of Khlebnikov’s experiment also leads us to question, in light of this approach and its inventiveness, the subject’s relation to the signifier. Finally, his work gives us the opportunity to think about a singular modality of linking and unlinking a work, a name and a body, opening up a field of reflection concerning structural shifts

La these est consacree a l'examen interlinguistique du phenomene de sujet nul. Trois types de comportement caracterisent sa distribution a travers les langues. Dans les langues dites pro-drop, le sujet nul est une option par defaut. Tandis que dans les langues romanes il semble ne pas dependre du contexte, en chinois sa distribution est contrainte par des facteurs discursifs. Neanmoins, il represente. Dans les langues a pro-drop partiel, le sujet nul est une option marquee. En hebreu, le marquage de la personne sur la flexion verbale influence la legitimation du sujet nul, mais en russe tel n'est pas le cas. En anglais, le sujet nul est possible quand le topique saillant est fort, mais la force de ce topique est determinee par le registre (ex. La langue parlee). Un chapitre separe est dedie a l'examen du francais. Le changement du comportement entre les langues montre que le parametre du sujet nul ne peut pas etre une valeur binaire et que les types de categories vides ne le decrivent pas.

L'apprentissage du français pour les Vietnamiens comporte une dimension linguistique mais s’inscrit également dans des stratégies d’accès à l’emploi et il est fortement lié à l’histoire entre les 2 pays même si la demande postscolaire d’apprentissage des langues est, aujourd’hui, majoritairement orientée vers l’anglais. Cette demande rencontre, dans le champ de la formation postscolaire, l’offre de deux types d’organismes : les centres de langue et les centres culturels. Ces deux structures sont en concurrence en matière d’apprentissage du français. Paradoxalement, les centres culturels proposant un enseignement avec des locuteurs natifs, des ressources documentaires, etc. Sont moins fréquentés que les centres de langue. Cependant, ils contribuent à la diffusion de la langue française au Vietnam même si l’organisation et le déroulement pédagogique des cours dans les deux types de structure sont différents. Les centres de langues se concentrent uniquement sur les éléments linguistiques : grammaire, vocabulaire, structure de la langue dans la conception des programmes pédagogiques. De leur côté, les centres culturels présentent aux apprenants des éléments linguistiques mais également des connaissances culturelles liées à langue française. Notre travail de recherche a pour but de comprendre les types de motivation pour l’apprentissage du français et les représentations de l’activité d’apprentissage chez les apprenants vietnamiens. Nous faisons l’hypothèse que les représentations d’un apprentissage à visée instrumentale expliqueraient les différences de demande vis-à-vis des deux types de centre. Dans ce contexte, nous interrogeons les conditions de possibilité d’innovations didactiques dans le domaine de l’enseignement des langues
Learning French for Vietnamese has a linguistic dimension but it is also in the goal of the access to employment strategies. The demand for post-school learning languages is mainly oriented towards English. However there is also a demand for French and it has a history. This demand of post -school training could be found in two kinds of organizations: language centers and cultural centers. These two structures are in competition for learning French. Paradoxically, cultural centers offering teaching with native speakers, documentary resources, etc. Are less frequented than the language centers. Centers of foreign language opened in the evening and French cultural centers, contribute to the spread of the French language in Vietnam. However, the organization and pedagogical process of teaching French in these centers are different. Centers of foreign language in evening focus only on linguistic elements: grammar, vocabulary, language structure which are in the conception of teaching program. For their part, the cultural centers offer to learners linguistic elements, but also cultural knowledge related to French language. Our research is an attempt to understand the types of motivation for learning French and the representations of the activity learning, among Vietnamese learners. We assume that the representations of learning instrumental referred explain the differences in demands that opposite the two types of center. In this context, we question the conditions of the possibility of educational innovations in the field of language teaching

多数の溶媒分子に取り囲まれている溶液中において溶質分子の化学反応素過程を考える場合、溶媒分子による反応の平衡論的、動的な効果を考える必要がある。本研究では、ユニークな反応場として水や有機溶媒とは区別される、超臨界流体とイオン液体をとり上げ、溶質分子のプロトン移動反応、光解離反応について、時間分解レーザー分光と分子動力学計算、理論的解析を行い、その現象を明らかにする試みをおこなった。
In solution, solvent molecules involve chemical reaction of solute molecules and could alter both reaction yield and kinetics. In this thesis, the author focused on fundamental chemical reactions (intermolecular proton transfer and photodissociate reaction) in a unique class of solvents, supercritical fluids and ionic liquids. By measuring time-resolved fluorescence spectrum and transient absorption spectrum of solutes, the author discusses how the reaction yield and kinetics are described by solvent physicochemical properties.

La thèse a pour objectif de réfléchir sur la possibilité d’appliquer la conception du langage développée par Wittgenstein dans sa philosophie des jeux de langage au langage esthétique. Cet intérêt pour la philosophie tardive du philosophe ne pouvait aboutir sans une confrontation avec la philosophie du Tractatus, l’auteur lui-même n’envisageant la possibilité de comprendre la seconde partie de sa philosophie qu’à la lumière de la première. En effet, le Tractatus détermine une conception du langage unique, dans laquelle ce dernier a pour rôle de représenter le réel, en en partageant la structure. Par conséquent, tous les jugements normatifs, y compris les jugements esthétiques, seront éjectés du domaine du sens dans celui de l’ineffable et du mystique dans la mesure où toute vraie proposition, c’est-à-dire sensée, par opposition aux pseudo-propositions doit impérativement porter sur des objets.Cette restriction du sens et donc du dicible le conduisant à une aporie, Wittgenstein détermine une autre conception du langage, plutôt, complémentaire de la première et ce, progressivement à partir des années trente, dans laquelle le langage devient pluriel parce que tributaire de plusieurs paramètres extra linguistiques en relation avec le contexte, la culture, la forme de vie… Et c’est justement le concept de jeux de langage qui va en montrer le fonctionnement de la signification comme usages.A partir de quelques exemples de tableaux, nous montrerons de quelle manière la peinture, sa compréhension et son interprétation se plient à cette conception du langage, mais aussi du sens de la philosophie post-Tractatus
The aim of this thesis is to think about the possibility to apply the conception of language developed by Wittgenstein in the philosophy from language games to esthetic language. The interest for the late philosophy of the philosopher could not ended without a confrontation in the philosophy of the Tractatus. The author himself considers the possibility to understand the second part of his philosophy only at the light of the initial. In fact, the Tractatus establishes a conception of an unique language, in which the latter has the role to represent the real, and in sharing the structure. Consequently, all the normal jugements including esthetic jugements will be ejected from the scope of sense in the one of the unutterable and the mystic insofar all true proposition is sensible by opposition to the pseudo-proposals must imperatively bear on objects.The restriction of the sense and dicible is leading him to a difficulty, Wittgenstein establishes another conception of language, rather complementary from the first one, and this gradually from the thirties in which the language becomes tributor from several parameters extra linguistic in relation with context, culture and shape of life and this is precisely the concept of language games which will show the working of the meaning as use.From a few examples of paintings, we shall demonstrate how the painting its comprehension and its interpretation are submitted to this conception of language but also to the sense of the philosophy post-Tractatus

Abstract:
Languages come with a unique set of words to label concepts so that sometimes a word in one language does not have a semantic equivalent in another language. This lack of equivalence is multi-faceted: words in two languages can be defined at different levels of abstraction, have different senses, or have conflicting affective connotations. What factors determine semantic equivalence across languages, and how are they incorporated in current theories of bilingual semantic representation? How do bilinguals navigate conflicting meanings or leverage semantic equivalence between two languages? To address these questions, this chapter will draw on recent proposals that combine multimodal experiential and linguistic representations to capture meaning. The multimodal view provides a framework to review distinct types of semantic equivalence at the feature, word, and language level. Finally, the implications of differentiating different types of semantic equivalence for bilingual studies are discussed.

AbstractThis chapter outlines an intensive class that took place over approximately two weeks in the summer of 2018 at the Cisarua Refugee Learning Center (CRLC), a school in Western Indonesia that serves refugees and asylum seekers, many of whom are Hazaras. The class combined language and literacy instruction for ESL learners and also aimed to provide professional development for teachers in the form of metacognitive reflection on the course itself. This article argues that, in this unique scenario, the Humanities and Liberal Arts should take the lead as disciplines that teach interdisciplinarity and care for language, the powerful tool that regulates our interactions as individuals and as groups.

As the war against Ukraine erupted on 24 February 2022, national minorities found themselves among its first victims, both as individuals and communities characterized by unique knowledge, language, and culture. This piece looks into the immediate effects of the war on ethnic Greeks and Bulgarians, and potential lessons learned for the state of Ukraine and its minorities from these tragic events. Whereas ethnic Greeks strive for physical survival in a besieged city of Mariupol and its surroundings, ethnic Bulgarians have mobilized in support of refugees. Those situations highlight the role of minority community leaders in voicing support for the Ukrainian authorities and as facilitators of aid from kin-states, as well as turn minority civil society organizations (CSOs) into agents of change of nation-wide significance.

The learning and developmental losses from pre-primary program closures due to COVID-19 may be unprecedented. These disruptions early in life, when the brain is more sensitive to environmental changes, can be long-lasting. Although there is evidence about the effects of school closures on older children, there is currently no evidence on such losses for children in their early years. This paper is among the first to quantify the actual impact of pandemic-related closures on child development, in this case for a sample of young children in Chile, where school and childcare closures lasted for about a year. We use a unique dataset collected face-to-face in December 2020, which includes child development indicators for general development, language development, social-emotional development, and executive function. We are able to use a first difference strategy because Chile has a history of collecting longitudinal data on children as part of their national social policies monitoring strategy. This allows us to construct a valid comparison group from the 2017 longitudinal data. We find adverse impacts on children in 2020 compared to children interviewed in 2017 in most development areas. In particular, nine months after the start of the pandemic, we find a loss in language development of 0.25 SDs. This is equivalent to the impact on a childs language development of having a mother with approximately five years less education. Timely policies are needed to mitigate these enormous losses.

Abstract:
There is little evidence of how differentiated instruction is being implemented, if at all, in low- and middle-income contexts, which often have unique challenges such as availability of resources and large class sizes. In this paper, we present the results of a qualitative study in eight multigrade preprimary classrooms in Kenya. We used classroom observations and teacher interviews to understand how teachers approached differentiation during language and mathematics lessons, including understanding why teachers were making the moves we observed. All teachers differentiated instruction to some extent in our findings, and we provide detailed descriptions of the ways that teachers adapted content to fit the needs of their students. We also provide recommendations, including how to support teachers in creating activities that are appropriate for different abilities of students in the same classrooms, and suggest next steps for research in this area.

This article raises the urgent problem of modern higher linguistic education connected with the pedagogical activities of the teaching staff of language departments. The aim of the research is to design and test the axiological model of the professional personality of a philologist teacher. The study is based on sociological and culturological approaches, traditions of linguistic education in Russia, which are significant for the formation of the personality of a future teacher, translator, interpreter, etc., understanding of the peculiarities of the pedagogical activity of linguists. Discussion, psychological and mathematical-statistical methods were used in the course of the following research. The results of the study have demonstrated some certain unique features of the Russian axiological space. The priorities of students in the process of assessing teachers of philologists and their professional activities are also established. The results obtained can serve as a basis for the design and testing of original trainings, refresher courses, taking into account the received request from the objects of the educational process.

Motivated by an application in chemical process engineering, which requires a description language with existential restrictions, this paper investigates the matching problem in Description Logics with existential restrictions. It turns out that existential restrictions make matching more complex in two respects. First, whereas matching in sublanguages of CLASSIC is polynomial, deciding the existence of matchers is an NP-complete problem in the presence of existential restrictions. Second, whereas in sublanguages of Classic solvable matching problems have a unique least matcher, this is not the case for languages with existential restrictions. Thus, it is not a priori clear which of the (possibly infinitely many) matchers should be returned by a matching algorithm. The article deals with the peculiarities of creation and practical application of augmented reality (AR) technologies for the organization of students-philologists’ individual and group work in studying the discipline “Methodic of teaching literature”. The relevance of the introduction of AR technologies for the future teachers-philologists’ readiness formation to the professional activity is substantiated. Analysis of the scientific sources suggested that the professional training process requires the modernization of teaching methods, and the usage of information and communication technologies (ICT) in education, in particular AR technologies, allows to make the learning process interesting and exciting. The domestic and foreign experience of AR technologies application into current educational practices is generalized. A step-by-step algorithm for creating the AR in the mobile application Unite and its subsequent content filling for professional training of future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature is described. The visualization of the educational content of the lepbook “Incredible Lesya Ukrainka”, made by students- philologists at the Mykhailo Stelmakh Faculty of Philology and Journalism of Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University during the studying the discipline “Methodic of teaching literature”, is detailed. It is specified that the educational process is based on the creation AR with the visualization of interactive learning materials with animation, instructions, links, video content, illustrations etc. according to the rubrics of the lepbook. It is emphasized that the implementation of AR technologies provides the increasing of motivation for systematic mastering of practical skills, enhances students’ concentration and attention, increases their cognitive experience, promotes the development of their creative abilities, produces the opportunities of using the visualized content for students’ research work, stimulates them to self-expression, motivates them to self-development, trains them to the skillful use of the Internet, modern gadgets and mobile applications, etc. Prospects for studying the possibilities of using AR technologies in lessons of Ukrainian literature at secondary school are determined.
