Abstract:
This article traces the rise of John Lamont, a Highland planter in nineteenth-century Trinidad. The island was subsumed into the British Empire in 1802, the third wave of colonization in the British West Indies and just thirty-two years before slavery was abolished. Many Scots travelled in search of wealth and this article reveals how one West India fortune was accumulated and repatriated to Scotland. John Lamont travelled from Argyll in the early 1800s, eventually becoming part of the Trinidad's plantocracy class and recipient of a major sum of compensation on the emancipation of slavery in 1834. Unlike many other Scots in the British West Indies, however, Lamont remained in situ in the post-emancipation period and was thus an exception to the sojourning mindset identified in previous studies. Lamont's status as an ‘every-day planter’ undoubtedly contributed to his major fortune which, despite his residency in the colonies, was dispersed in the lower Highlands of Scotland amongst his paternal family, the Lamonts of Knockdow. The article also surveys modern representations of John Lamont: a Highland planter who, in his own words, achieved his wish to die ‘in harness’ in Trinidad.

Abstract:
There have been various attempts to capture the direction of welfare provision in Japan and the People's Republic of China (PRC) as a regionally coherent welfare regime, following on from attempts by the welfare regime literature to categorize nation-states by the characteristics of their welfare provision in the West. However, stark differences between the PRC and Japan as regional neighbours, and even within the regions of each country, pose a challenge to this kind of macro-level theorizing. This special issue seeks to supplement macro perspectives on welfare regimes by exploring a range of welfare policies across both states from an ethnographic, bottom-up perspective, which captures the dynamic nature of welfare and highlights the importance of understanding how local actors request, interpret, and implement risk management strategies. The management of social risks is shown not to have one clear direction determined by, for example, market logic: instead, this special issue highlights the ways in which the burden of risk shifts between family, market, state, and communities unevenly over time, reflecting underlying institutional norms which are always up for negotiation. In doing so, this special issue emphasizes the importance of local, contextualized understandings of welfare, and suggests that the comparative welfare regimes literature should seek the micro-institutional foundations of welfare provision as the basis for comparison.

9539 Background: Many seriously ill cancer patients do not discuss prognosis or advance directives (ADs), which may lead to aggressive care at end of life (Harrison & Smith, JAMA 2008). Ten years ago, cancer patients did not want to discuss ADs with their oncologist (ONC), but would discuss them with an admitting doctor (Lamont JPM 2000).We assessed if this still held. Methods: We administered semi-structured interviews to cancer inpatients on the VCUHS Hematology-Oncology service. 55/63 consecutive patients accrued. Information was collected regarding ADs and knowledge of hospice/palliative care. Results: Of those enrolled, 22/55 (40%) reported having ADs. Only 2/55 had discussed ADs with their oncologist. Only 12/55 (22%) would want to discuss ADs with their ONC. But when specifically asked, 22/55 (40%) of patients would prefer to discuss ADs with their oncologist, and 40% with their primary care doctor. 86% would discuss ADs with the admitting doctor. There was no difference in doctor preference based upon prior AD completion. The preference not to discuss ADs with the oncologist was often because they felt their family could make the decisions, or that it was only necessary “If it got serious.” There was a common misconception that ADs mean death is imminent and lead to termination of care. Conclusions: Most patients (86%) are willing to discuss ADs with an admitting doctor, but only a small number (22%) want to discuss with their ONC. However, most patients will discuss ADs and 40% actually prefer their ONC if ADs are discussed. We therefore need to train primary care doctors, house staff, hospitalists, and oncologists to have these difficult discussions. [Table: see text] No significant financial relationships to disclose.

На примере локальной традиции нижнепечорских староверов-беспоповцев описываются особенности позднего бытования погребально-поминальных причитаний в Усть-Цилемском районе Республики Коми. В исследовании обращается внимание на достаточно позднее изучение причети фольклористами. Сбор причетов производился разными исследователями не систематически. Записи 1929 г. были опубликованы с комментарием лишь в 2013 г., еще одна крупная публикация текстов, собранных в 1942 г., относится к 1962 г. С разной степенью полноты причеты публиковались и в других сборниках. Преимущественно в XXI в. появляются и аналитические статьи. В настоящей статье причетная традиция рассматривается с позиции этнографического исследовательского похода, главное внимание обращается на функционирование жанра, место и роль причетов в погребально-поминальном обряде в конце XX – начале XXI в. Описываются факторы, способствовавшие приобщению причитальщиц к традиционной плачевой культуре. Приводится обрядовая терминология, устойчивые выражения, являющиеся наименованием плачей, свидетельствующие об их исполнении, а также лексика, представленная в плачах метафорическими заменами, эпитетами. Анализируется значение регулирования исполнения плачей относительно времени суток, а также рассматривается ограничение их исполнения по отдельным возрастным и социальным группам. Обращается внимание на локальную особенность исполнения плачей по усопшим, которые прижизненно проявляли неуважение к некоторым представителям семьи и являлись обидчиками, – посредством плача выражались недоброжелательные поступки и действия умершего человека. Статья написана на основе полевых материалов, собранных автором в разные годы в усть-цилемских селах и деревнях, на опубликованных материалах и архивных источниках, хранящихся в Научном архиве Коми НЦ УрО РАН. Using the local tradition of the Old Believers-Bespopovtsy of Nizhnepechora as an example, the characteristics of the late existence of burial and memorial laments in the Ust-Tsilemsky district of the Komi Republic are described. The study draws attention to the rather late research of baptism by folklorists. The collection of the reports was not carried out systematically by different researchers. The 1929 records were published with a commentary only in 2013 and another major publication of the texts collected in 1942 dates from 1962. The reports have been published in other collections with varying degrees of completeness. Particularly in the 21st century, there are also analytical articles. This article examines the liturgical tradition from the perspective of an ethnographic research campaign, focusing on the functioning of the genre, the place, and the role of eulogies in funeral and memorial rites at the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries. The factors contributing to eulogies' introduction into traditional funeral culture are described. The ritual terminology, the stable expressions that are the names of the laments and indicate their fulfillment, and the vocabulary represented in the laments by metaphorical substitutions and epithets are given. The importance of regulating the performance of lamentations in relation to the time of day is analyzed, and the restriction of their performance to certain ages and social groups is also considered. The local peculiarity of the performance of lament songs for the deceased, who showed disrespect to some family members during their lifetime and were abusers, through the lament songs, the unkind actions and deeds of the deceased person are shown. The article was written on the basis of field materials collected by the author in different years in the villages of Ust-Tsilma, as well as on the basis of published materials and archival sources kept in the scientific archive of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Holy Family’s example can help shape the spiritual life of believers according to the Incarnation. The essence of the Holy Family’s example is its deep focus on the mystery of Incarnation and, thus, union with Christ, the Incarnate Word. Moreover, the hidden life of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph provides a solid foundation on which apostolic life can take on form.

The word “discrimination” is derived from the Latin word discriminate- meaning “to separate, to distinguish, to make a distinction.” In American English usage, discrimination often refers to prejudicial treatment of persons. Black feminism emerged as a challenge to the assumptions made by these white feminists regarding their prerogative to speak for all women in general. Black feminism insists that sexism and racism are imbricated in each other, the oppression of women cannot be understood and addressed without reference to racism. According to Claudia Jones, a Trinidad – born activist, “In the film, radio and press, the Negro woman is a not pictured in her real role as a bread winner, mother and protector of the family, but as a traditional ‘mammy’ who puts the care of children and families of others above her own. This traditional stereotype of the Negro slave mother, which to this day appears in commercial advertisements must be combated and rejected as a device of imperialist to perpetuate that white chaunvist ideology that Negro women are ‘backward and inferior.’ Now a days, there are so many poems which is written by using discrimination and segregation as the subject because of the condition which appears in the society. Besides, there are some women poets who write poems by using feminism touches. For example, the image of woman in the society, the position of women among the men, and the discriminations which occur in the women’s life.

This is a very personal book, a poignant book, a compelling book, from beginning to end. The Preface sets the tone: self-reflexive and confessional. Wilce once wanted to be a medical doctor; he became instead a missionary in Bangladesh, but felt “guilt and pervasive disquiet” in that role; and while in Bengal – actually, in neighboring Calcutta – he suffered a “nightmarish” family tragedy involving medical practitioners. He later resigned from the mission and went to graduate school; then he returned to Bangladesh to study complaint and lament as expressed in one locality within the Bangla-speaking area. (“Bangla” and “Bengali” are two names for the same language. Wilce refers to the language as Bangla; so shall I.)

ABSTRAKStadia larva merupakan fase awal daur kehidupan bagi ikan. Larva adalah biota perairan yang bersifat planktonik dan termasuk kedalam jenis meroplankton. Ekosistem Padang Lamun di Pulau Pramuka memiliki fungsi ekologis yang cukup penting di wilayah pesisir, dimana ekosistem ini merupakan salah satu daerah asuhan dan daerah mencari makan bagi larva ikan. Adanya perbedaan tingkat kerapatan lamun dan keberadaan makanan dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap kelimpahan larva ikan. Sehingga hal tersebut menjadi landasan dilakukannya penelitian mengenai Hubungan Kerapatan Lamun Terhadap Kelimpahan Larva Ikan di Pulau Pramuka, Kepulauan Seribu Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan larva ikan pada kerapatan lamun yang berbeda dan mengetahui pengaruh kerapatan lamun terhadap kelimpahan larva ikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan penentuan titik sampling menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah pada stasiun I tingkat kerapatan lamun padat (34156 individu/100m2) nilai kelimpahan larva ikan sebesar 756 individu/200m2 terdiri dari 8 famili. Stasiun II kerapatan sedang (26410 individu/100m2) nilai kelimpahan larva ikan yaitu 579 individu/200m2 terdiri dari 6 famili, dan stasiun III ketapatan jarang (6321 individu/100m2) nilai kelimpahan larva ikan sebesar 426 individu/200m2 yang terdiri dari 4 famili. Nilai korelasi antara kelimpahan larva ikan dengan kerapatan lamun yaitu sebesar r = 0,772. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang erat antara kelimpahan dan komposisi famili larva ikan dengan kerapatan lamun. Semakin tinggi nilai kerapatan lamun maka semakin tinggi pula nilai kelimpahan dan komposisi famili larva ikan. Begitu pula semakin rendah nilai kerapatan lamun maka nilai kelimpahan dan komposisi larva ikan juga semakin rendah. The larvae are aquatic biota that are planktonic and included into the type meroplankton. Seagrass ecosystems in Pramuka Island, has important ecological functions in coastal areas, where the ecosystem is one of the nursery ground and feeding ground for fish larvae. The big difference the density of seagrass and the presence of food can influence abundance of fish larvae. Thus, it will be the base for doing this research on The relations between Seagrass Density and Fish Larvae Abundance in Pramuka, Seribu Island Jakarta. This research aims to determine the abundance of fish larvae in different seagrass densities and determine the influence of the seagrass density on the abundance of fish larvae. The method used is survey method in determining the point of sampling using purposive sampling method. The results obtained are at station I the densities in dense seagrass (34156 individuals/100m2) abundance of fish larvae value at 756 individuals/200m2 consisting of eight families. Station II medium density (26410 individuals/100m2) the value of the abundance of fish larvae is 579 individuals/200m2 consisting of 6 families, and station III precision rarely (6321 individuals/100m2) the value of fish larvae abundance at 426 individuals/200m2 consisting of 4 families. The correlation values between the abundance of fish larvae with the density of seagrass in the amount of r = 0,772. Based on the above, we can conclude that there is a close relationship between the abundance and composition of fish larvae families with seagrass density. The higher the density of seagrass, the higher the families abundance and composition of fish larvae. Similarly, the lower the density value then the value of seagrass abundance and composition of fish larvae are also lower. Keywords: Sea Grass Density; Fish Larvae; Abundance; Pramuka Island.

Companion animals in the U.S. are increasingly regarded as members of the family with whom one may share a strong emotional bond. However, despite an evolving social construction that has elevated their status in the dominant culture, companion animals lack meaningful legal rights, and “family member” is a provisional status that can be dissolved at will based on the discretion of the sole rights-holder in the relationship: the human owner. Because they are still defined within the U.S. legal system as property, it is a common lament within the animal protection movement that the law has not kept pace with the emergent cultural perception of companion animals as family or best friends who may occupy a significant place in one’s constellation of interpersonal relationships. But how divergent are the laws that govern our treatment of companion animals from prevailing social norms? This article examines current trends in animal law and society to shed light on this question. I find that while a new family member cultural status is emerging for companion animals in the U.S., their legal status as property is a countervailing force, enabling contradictory practices and beliefs that construct animals as expendable. The fact that their cultural status is in flux in turn reinforces their status under the law. I conclude with proposed policy reforms that will facilitate the integration of companion animals into society as true rather than rhetorical family members.

Hereditary inclusion body myopathy (IBM) is a variant of multisystem proteinopathy. It is a generalized progressive disease with autosomal recessive or autosomal dominant inheritance, characterized by the development of a degenerative process in muscle fi bers due to the accumulation of rimmed vacuoles and nuclear intermediate fi laments. This article presents a clinical observation of a rare variant of IBM — HNRNPA2B1-associated myopathy with a phenotypically diverse picture in representatives of one family from diff erent generations.

Ma’Marakka is a lamenting song played at the death ritual for the Toraja people's rambu solo' to the accompaniment of a suling lembang. Despite the fact that the Toraja people are currently facing numerous problems, they continue to perform ancestor rites outside. This study intends to explore the meaning of Ma’Marakkamusic for the Toraja people, in the light of this phenomenon. To investigate the issues at hand, the researcher discusses the theory of Victor Turner about ritual symbols. This study employs an ethnographic method to uncover data about the practice of Ma’Marakka. Participatory observations, interviews, and literature searches were used to obtain data. According to the findings of this study, music is one of the primary elements employed to portray lament. The presentation is delivered during the reception in the form of a rambu solo’, with comfort for the grieving family. The inclusion of Ma’Marakkaas a grief song in rambu solo'.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui kelayakan pada produk jamur crispy terhadap Industri Pengolahan Jamur Tiram di Kota Maros dan strategi pengembangan industrinya. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah mengunakan analisis SWOT pada faktor internal dan eksternal pada usaha UMKM jarum tiram. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa Faktor Internal yang menjadi kekuatan dan kelemahan pada Kripik Jamur Tiram Familiy Crispy di Kelurahan Leang-Leang Kecamatan Bantimurung Kabupaten Maros yaitu kekutan modal berasal dari modal sendiri, tenaga kerja mudah dijangkau sedangkan kelemahan yaitu perputaran modal lambat, produksi tidak menentu dan pembukuan dilakukan setiap tahun. Faktor Ekternal Peluang dan ancaman pada Kripik Jamur Tiram Familiy Crispy di Kelurahan Leang-Leang Kecamatan Bantimurung Kabupaten Maros yaitu peluang bahan baku yang tersedia, belum adanya pesaing dari produk yang sama, ikut serta dalam pameran. Oyster mushrooms are increasingly popular, so they are increasingly easy to find in the market in fresh form. This study aimed to determine the feasibility of crispy mushroom products for the Oyster Mushroom Processing Industry in Maros City and its industrial development strategy. The analytical method used is a SWOT analysis of internal and external factors in the oyster needle MSME business. The results of the study found that the internal factors that became the strengths and weaknesses of the Crispy Oyster Mushroom Chips in the Leang-Leang Village, Bantimurung District, Maros Regency, namely capital strength come from own capital, labor is easy to reach while the weaknesses are slow capital turnover, erratic production, and bookkeeping done every year. External Factors Opportunities and threats to Family Crispy Oyster Mushroom Chips in Leang-Leang Village, Bantimurung District, Maros Regency, namely the opportunity for available raw materials, the absence of competitors from the same product, and participating in exhibitions. The appropriate development strategy used in the Family Crispy Oyster Mushroom Chips business in Leang-Leang Village, Bantimurung District, Maros Regency is to increase capital by increasing investment or loans from other parties, expanding marketing areas, training, capital utilization, new flavor variants, improving product quality. , partners and optimizes the use of technology tools.

AbstractThe tears of the ‘daughters of Jerusalem’ in Luke 23.27–31 are often taken as a representation of pathos. However, women's public performance of lamentation serves several purposes in the biblical prophets and Greco-Roman historiography and rhetoric. Women are responsible for mourning rituals following a death to honour the deceased and their family. They express communal lament following defeat in war. Women use tears to protest political and legal situations, swaying public opinion and decisions. The rhetorical functions of women's mourning in antiquity offer valuable insight into the potential purposes of mourning in Luke 23.27–31. The women's initial display of tears honours Jesus. The disruption of the negative perception of Jesus at this point in the narrative suggests the women's tears may be political protest. The redirection of their tears to themselves and their children provides the audience with a model response to the destruction of Jerusalem. As in Jer 9.17–22, the mourning of Luke's ‘daughters of Jerusalem’ is prophetic.

Abstract:
Emotional restraint was the norm for the bereaved during and after the Second World War. Displays of individual grief were discouraged, and overshadowed by a wider concern for mass bereavement. There is limited archival evidence of the suffering that fathers of sons killed in action endured. This article draws upon and analyses a powerful memoir written by my grandfather, lamenting the death of his only son killed in action near the end of the War. While most men contained their emotions in such circumstances, this extended lament expresses a range of deep feelings: Love and care for the departed son, tenderness towards other family members, guilt at sending his son away to boarding school, loss of faith in (Christian) religion, and a sense of worthlessness and personal failure. Of particular interest is the impact of geographical distance over which this narrative is played out, and what it reveals about the experience of one white British middle-class family living overseas, but strongly interconnected with ‘home’ (and specifically Scotland). It also documents the pain of prolonged absence as a result of war; often boys sent ‘home’ to board were separated from their parents for much of their childhood, and were forced to ‘become men’—but not as their parents had envisaged. The article concludes by exploring the implications of this private memoir and what it reveals about memoir, masculinity, and subjectivity; gender and grieving; connections with ‘home’; and constructing meaning after trauma.

The most vulnerable member of the peasant household was reported to be the soldatka, the soldier's wife. The quintessential outsider in a community based on married couples, the soldatka suffered from the general coldness of the village toward single women. Stereotyped as abused, neglected, and without resources, she was seen as a loose woman who drank and the bearer of illegitimate children. We know little about her. Popular imagination has been informed largely by the soldatka's plaintive voice in folk "recruit" laments. Historians have paid scant attention to the marginal members of peasant society. Yet focusing on the weaker persons in the peasant household provides insight into little-known subjects: family antagonisms, interpersonal relationships, and the status of women.

Впервые предпринимается попытка предварительно систематизировать по определенным критериям упоминания о царской власти и ее некоторых регалиях в греческой аскетической литературе. Главная тема – анализ сравнения плача с царем в четвертом «Огласительном слове» прп. Симеона Нового Богослова и выявление контекста этого сравнения в культуре, аскетической традиции и истории Византии. Царь, который надевает на себя белое одеяние в знак скорби, и традиция плача царя о близких и народа о царе имеют ряд характерных описаний в памятниках прежде всего исторической литературы. Эти описания оказываются ярким фоном для изучения плача как ключевой добродетели христианской аскетики. Обращение к войнам, которые вел современник прп. Симеона – император Василий Болгаробойца, сделано для более рельефного представления о той среде и атмосфере, которая невольно могла подпитывать возвышенную мысль одного из самых выдающихся мистиков Церкви. The author offers insights in royal power and its inner spiritual as seen by hermit monks and Christian writers of an ascetic-mystical trend in contrast to the excessive politicization of this topic. This is the first ever attempt to organize according to concrete criteria the mention of imperial power and its regalia in Greek ascetic literature. The main theme – a comparitive analysis of «lamentation» and «the king» in the fourth «Catechetical word» of the Venerable Symeon the New Theologian and the identification of the context of this comparison in the culture, ascetic tradition and history of Byzantium. The king, who wears the white robe as a sign of mourning, and the tradition of the king’s lament for his family and the people’s lament for the king – have a number of specific descriptions in the monuments of, especially, historical literature. These descriptions are a vivid background for the study of lament as a key virtue of Christian asceticism. A study of the wars that were led by a contemporary of St. Simeon – Emperor Basil Bulgaroctonus, is presented as a dynamic representation of the environment and the atmosphere, which could have inadvertently fueled the sublime ideas of one of the greatest mystics of the Church. Also, the posthumous fate of the remains of Emperor Basil during the destruction of Constantinople by the Crusaders in the XIII century is one of the most striking images that illustrate the main subject of the article, the main task of which is to awaken interest in the history and the ascetic tradition of the Church.

This essay analyzes Sophocles’ Theban plays and Wajdi Mouawad’s insightful reinterpretation of those plays, Incendies. Both Oedipus in the Theban plays and Nawal in Incendies unwittingly commit incest and take responsibility for their transgressions. They, however, act very differently toward their children. Oedipus is furious with his sons and curses them because they did not help him when he was exiled from Thebes. Unlike Oedipus, Nawal rejects the logic of retaliation and tries to break the vicious cycle of anger between generations. When incest is revealed, Oedipus gets engulfed in sorrow and never feels happy about having found his real mother and true identity. His children also constantly lament over their family tragedies and pity one another. These feelings prevent them from breaking the cycle of tragedy upon tragedy. Nawal gets horrified when she realizes that Abou Tarek, the torturer who raped her, is Nihad, her own son she had to give up at birth, but simultaneously her heart bursts with happiness to see her long-lost son. In her will, Nawal asks her twins, Janine and Simon, to find their father and brother and deliver her letters to them. Searching for them, the twins discover that their father and brother are the same person. Reading Nawal’s letters, Nihad comes to know the horrible truth as well. In her letters, Nawal tells Nihad that he is a child of love and that there is still the happiness of being together. She asks Simon to reconstruct the family history and Janine to break the thread of anger. While Oedipus leaves his children trapped in a cycle of tragedy, Nawal succeeds to free her children and helps them move on.

The objective of this article is to explore the metanarrative of Armenian discourse, in Armenian called łaribut’iwn or pandxtut’iwn, generally translated as the concept of exile and uprootedness, and its profound significance in the Armenian historical and literary discourse. Motif of exile is closely associated with the idea of homeland (Erkir). Being in łaribut’iwn describes the state of nostalgic yearning for something unachievable – lost homeland, past glory, abandoned family etc.; oscillating between inner and outer exile, between real or symbolic one, between the experience of deportations, wars and massacres or self-alienation. This paper focuses especially on the so-called panduxt and łarib period of mass migrations from the Armenian Erkir (today’s Eastern Anatolia) to west and on the medieval reflection of forced deportations and laments. Primary sources as Armenian chronicles and colophons dating from 16th–17th period are analyzed.

Ikan gurami (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) dikenal sebagai ikan yang lambat tumbuh. Perbaikan mutu genetik dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, salah satunya adalah melalui program seleksi. Pembentukan populasi dasar dengan menggabungkan persilangan empat populasi Kalimantan, Jambi, Majalengka (M), dan Tasikmalaya dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keragaman genetik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengestimasi nilai heritabilitas dan respons seleksi karakter pertumbuhan bobot ikan gurami hasil persilangan empat populasi gurami sebagai populasi dasar. Persilangan dilakukan dengan rasio jantan: betina (1:1) dan terbentuk 12 famili. Seleksi dilakukan menggunakan metode seleksi famili berdasarkan karakter bobot. Parameter yang diamati adalah karakter pertumbuhan bobot. Data yang digunakan untuk perhitungan etimasi heritabilitas dan respons seleksi adalah data bobot pada umur 11 bulan. Dari data tersebut digunakan untuk menghitung koefisien keragaman (CV), diferensial seleksi (S), estimasi nilai heritabilitas (h2), estimasi respons seleksi (R), dan standard error (SE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi dasar yang terbentuk memiliki nilai estimasi heritabilitas 0,4991 yang termasuk kategori tinggi, diferensial seleksi sebesar 124,22 g; sehingga mendapatkan nilai estimasi respons seleksi sebesar 62 g atau (18,2%).Giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) is known as a slow growing fish. Genetic improvement can be done to overcome this obstacle; one way is through the selection program. Formation of base population by combining cross four populations can increase genetic diversity. The crosses four populations were: Kalimantan (Borneo), Jambi, Majalengka, and Tasikmalaya. The purpose of this study was to estimate the heritability and response to selection of characters in length and weights of giant gourami from four crosses population as the base population of synthetic material. Crossings were made with the ratio of male: female (1:1) to form 12 families. Selection was made after 11 months old fish. Selection was done using the family selection method based on the body weight character. Observations were conducted on parameter the body weight (BW). The data was used to calculate the coefficient of variance (CV), the selection differential (S), the estimated heritability (h2), the estimated selection response (R), and standard error (SE). The result showed an estimated heritability value was 0.4991 and categorized as high level, amounting to 124.22 g of selection differential, so the estimated selection response value was 62 g (18.2%).

The resistance to late leaf spot (Cercosporidium personatum) and agronomic characters of peanut F5 families derived from crosses between Kelinci x Southern Runner. Late leafspot disease in peanut can be controlled by planting resistant cultivars. The objective of this study was to evaluate the resistance of nine F5 families derived from crosses between Kelinci and Southern Runner. Gajah, Kelinci, Panter, and Southern Runner were used as controls. Experiments was arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The resistance was evaluated based on the score of disease severity. The results indicated that F5 families of K/SR-2 and K/SR-9 were more resistant to late leafspot and yielded higher than Gajah, Panter, and Kelinci. Families K/SR-7 and K/SR-8 were tolerant to late leafspot.

On March 26, 1993, Lamona Kaye Adams called the company's emergency line about 3:50 a.m. to report that her 6-month-old son, James, was moaning, panting, limp, and running a 104-degree temperature. After telling her to place the child in a tepid bath, the emergency line nurse checked with a doctor and directed that the child be taken to Scottish Rite Hospital, north of Atlanta. Kaiser Permanente receives a 15% discount for patients at Scottish Rite. On the way to Scottish Rite, James' heart stopped. He was revived with CPR at another hospital, but circulation ceased to his extremities and he developed gangrene. A blood infection was later diagnosed. During a nine-day trial in Fulton State Court, Kaiser's lawyers contended that it would have made no difference if James had been sent to the nearest emergency room. "Our issue is quality," said the Kaiser Permanente medical director for Georgia. "Quality pediatric care was most available at Scottish Rite." But the Adamses' lawyer called the case an example of what happens when cost-conscious managed-care providers try to cut corners.

The nomenclatural status of the nomina proposed for genus-series and family-series taxa of the fish suborder Notothenioidei (Perciformes) is established. Three types of nomenclatural problems are revealed, where the current edition of the Code does not allow to make a definite choice, namely: [1] the nomenclatural status of a family-series nomen based on an incorrectly formed stem of a type genus nomen (Eleginopsinae/Eleginopsidae and Pleuragramminae); [2] the determination of the grammatical gender of a genus-series nomen, derived from a Greek or Latin word, having no originally stated gender (Gobionotothen, Lepidonotothen, Macronotothen and Patagonotothen); and [3] the determination of the gender of a Latinized Greek genus-series nomen having a different gender in different Greek dialects (Aethotaxis and Pleuragramma). Some options to solve these problems in a forthcoming edition of the Code are proposed. The nomenclatural status of the names «Cryonotothenioidea», «Eleginopsioidea» and «Pseudaphritioidea» as being outside the frame of the Code is established. The validity of the nomina Gelidinae, Pagetodes and Pagetodini as opposite of Pleuragrammatinae, Cryodraco and Cryodraconini, respectively, is demonstrated. One bright winter afternoon in 1992, in the mountains of Yunnan Province, China, Li Yong told me a story. Li Yong and I were crowded into a courtyard in his largely Yi (or Lòlop'ò) village, at a mortuary ritual for one of his affines. In the courtyard's center, where the corpse had lain in its coffin seven days before, a crude trough had been scratched into the earth, with a shallow hole at the end where the corpse's mouth had been. The dead woman's daughter, her husband's sisters and their daughters, and some of their female friends sat on benches on either side, singing formal poetic laments about labor and pain. Pendekatan interdisipliner digunakan untuk memeriksa faktor-faktor yang memicu pertumbuhan penduduk serta implikasi sosial, budaya, dan ekonominya pada dinamika keluarga. Berdasarkan data Sensus Penduduk Tahun 2020, Nusa Tenggara Barat adalah salah satu provinsi diluar pulau Jawa yang mengalami pertumbuhan penduduk cukup signifikan. Proyeksi penduduk menggunakan SUPAS 2015, diperkirakan Laju Pertumbuhan Penduduk (LPP) sampai dengan 2035 menurun dibawah 1.17, namun dari hasil Sensus Penduduk 2020 ternyata LPP meningkat menjadi 1.63. Terkait dengan hal ini, kebijakan-kebijakan yang telah ditetapkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas penduduk tentu berubah dan perlu dilakukan penyesuaian. Pertambahan penduduk Nusa Tenggara Barat yang cenderung terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun tersebut akan menimbulkan berbagai persoalan yang semakin kompleks. Hal ini terlihat pada pencapaian indikator pembangunan keluarga yang diukur menggunakan Standar Pelayanan Minimal (SPM). Walaupun dari tahun ke tahun pencapaian nilai IPM Nusa Tenggara Barat mengalami kenaikan, tetapi peningkatan tersebut terlihat sangat lambat. Peningkatan LPP tersebut harus diiringi dengan penyesuaian SPM untuk menjaga kualitas penduduk yang terkait dengan Pembangunan Keluarga. The Increase in Population Growth Rate in Relation to Family Development Abstract The demographic dynamics of West Nusa Tenggara, characterized by a prominent population growth rate, have made family sustainability and welfare the primary focus. An interdisciplinary approach is employed to examine the factors driving population growth and the social, cultural, and economic implications on family dynamics. According to the 2020 Population Census data, West Nusa Tenggara is one of the provinces outside Java experiencing significant population growth. Population projections using the 2015 Population Survey (SUPAS) estimated that the Population Growth Rate (PGR) would decrease below 1.17 by 2035. However, the 2020 Population Census results revealed an increase in PGR to 1.63. In response to this, policies established to improve population quality need to be adjusted due to the change in PGR. The continuous population growth in West Nusa Tenggara from year to year will give rise to increasingly complex issues. This is evident in the achievement of family development indicators measured using the Minimum Service Standards (SPM). Despite the incremental improvement in the Human Development Index (HDI) values for West Nusa Tenggara each year, the progress appears to be slow. The rise in PGR must be accompanied by adjustments to the SPM to maintain the quality of the population related to family development.

Alas! brother, alas! For almost everywhere in this land the rule of regular life falls away and the secular way of life thrives.Alcuin of York’s famous lament to Abbot. Æthelbald of Wearmouth-Jarrow at the end of the eighth century could serve as a neat summary of the traditional scholarly picture of eighth-century Anglo-Saxon monasticism: a movement in near-terminal decline with falling standards in religious observance and monasteries increasingly coming under secular control. The bishops of Worcester have been seen by many scholars as taking a leading role in the fight-back against this creeping secularization. It was not, however, that they played a key role in the drafting of conciliar legislation or that they produced texts condemning the lax standards of Anglo-Saxon monasticism. Rather, successive bishops of Worcester have been seen, since the eighteenth century at least, as challenging secularization through the property strategies they adopted. In order to challenge lay lordship, secularization and declining monastic standards the bishops of Worcester in the eighth century were, in Brooks’ words, ‘attempting, with mixed success, to persuade lords to bequeath their family monasteries to the see of Worcester’. This allowed the bishops to have greater control over the monasteries in tbeir diocese than existing legislation would otherwise have permitted. The bishops could directly intervene in the affairs of these monasteries and impose their own abbots and staff. As Thacker argues, the bishops of Worcester were attempting to ensure ‘independent proprietary monasteries were brought under their control and put in the charge of priests from the episcopal familia.

The supplicant of Psalm 31 bemoans the fact that his neighbours and companions treat him like an outcast. What is even more disturbing is the fact that one would expect this from the enemies, as is the case in so many laments. The friends and family who were supposed to provide the necessary support in times of affliction, however, deserted the psalmist. The line between friend and foe became blurred. The plaintiff faces rejection on two fronts: attacked by his enemies and ostracised by his friends. Through the marginalisation the poet no longer feature as a member of the social group that embodies his identity. Instead of being in the centre, he now operates on the periphery, thus bearing the full brunt of social rejection in ancient Israel. This form of rejection is tantamount to life on the “outskirts” of society. Focusing on the notion of spatiality, this paper aims at illustrating that the image-schema of centre-periphery underlies the behaviour of the companions in Psalm 31. The neighbours and companions reside in the centre (important and honourable), whereas the psalmist exists on the periphery (unimportant and disgraced).

The study was conducted at 8 sites which were representative of geographics, habitats and socio - economics of the South region - Lamdong province from 2015 - 2017 by surveys, sample collection in the field and tests in laboratory. The aim of the study was: to determine the species composition and distribution of ticks parasitized on raising animal (dogs, cats, birds, cows, pigs) and to detect ticks of rickettsia infection wich parasitized on raising animal. The results showed that: Collected 5,293 ticks individuals including 4 species, 3 genus, 1 family. Among them, Rhipicephalus was 2 species of Rhipicephalus (Rh.) haemaphysaloides and Rhipicephalus (Rh.) sanguineus, Boophilus was 1 species of Boophilus microplus and Ixodes was 1 species of Ixodes (I.) granulatus. A total of 293 ticks samples (1,460 individual) were tested by PCR. The overall, common Rickettsia spp. infection rate was 1.02% (3/293 samples). All these 3 tick samples are parasitized on domesticated dogs (Canis familiaris). In particular, the Rickettsia spp. infection rate in tick species of Rh (Rh.) sanguineus was 1.71% (3/175 samples). Don’t detected pathogen of Orientia tsutsugamushi in ticks. Tinhbien district (Angiang 2015) and Longthanh district (Dongnai 2015, 2016) Where have tick of Rickettsia spp. infection.

Euripides' Ion has suffered from the attempt to find in the play an overriding message or moral. Verrall and his successors saw the Ion as an attack against Apollo and organized religion; Wassermann and Burnett argue that it defends orthodox piety; Grégoire and Loraux view it as a hymn or lament on Athenian national pride; and Knox and Gellie respond that the Ion is pure comedy with no deeper meaning. There is of course some truth to each of these interpretations, but it does not follow that the play's ‘real meaning’ lies somewhere in between them. I suggest that we read the Ion not as an abstract argument but as drama, and in particular as a social comedy whose ‘meaning’ lies not in an underlying message but in the action itself and in the conflicts among the play's characters, human and divine, male and female, foreign and Athenian.Such conflicts, in this play at least, focus attention upon the role of the gods, the place of foreigners in Athens, and relations between men and women. Of these three subjects, the first two have dominated discussion of the Ion, both by those who find them central to the play's religious or nationalistic theme, and by those who consider them incidental to the play as comedy. I shall first show that the third area of conflict — relations between men and women — is equally important in the Ion and reflects an important issue in contemporary Athens. Second, I shall argue that the gender issues raised somewhat provocatively in the first half of the play are upstaged by the melodramatic excitement of the second half. And I shall suggest, in conclusion, that although it is only one of many social and family conflicts in the drama, the battle between the sexes shows how the Ion raises important and difficult questions without becoming an ‘issue play’.

The psychological determinants for the formation of harmonious family relationships were highlighted: empathically oriented communication, humanistic style of children’s upbringing, their high level of self-esteem, smoothing the difference between “Me-ideal” and “Me-real”, positive attitude from others and self-respect. Based on the results of our observations, which we carried out in 2021 in the educational process of educational activities of secondary schools № 15 of t. Rivne, we can exactly conclude that for senior school age is quite characterized of emotional fluctuations in mood. Some pupils were also characterized (in some cases) by neurotic and protest, sometimes by aggressive behavior, but these were isolated cases. We have diagnosed that tense situations are arisen between parents and children from time to time. However, again, our observations show that maladaptive family relationships are never caused by a single cause. For example, parents’ sexual problems have never been the predominant cause of maladaptive family relationships between parents and children, but aggressive tendencies caused by parents’ sexual problems often exacerbate children’s nervous and aggressive disputes with their parents. And even if young people find a way out of these disputes in some a way, in any case, the attitude towards parents remains negative, as, incidentally, the attitude of parents towards children (hair, clothes, hobbies, leisure, etc.). We identify as the most important topics of conflict of schoolchildren such as: - young people want to communicate, above all, with their peers, to defend their own interests and have weak parental control; - compared to adolescence, the importance of hairstyles and clothes increases significantly among high school students (the conflict is caused by the mismatch between the standards of high school students and the generation of parents). For high school students, the style of hair and clothing were associated with the relevant youth subculture, which was partly seen as some “message” of the adult world; - disagreements with parents and conflict situations on eroticism and sex occur at the age of 12-16, much earlier than in previous generations; - the time spent by high school students at school has been increased significantly. Conflicts between high school students and their parents about schooling are inaccuracies in homework, low school performances, and, at the same time, senior pupils do not have enough time to help their parents with household chores. However, the most important causes of family conflicts are children’s smoking and their use of psychoactive substances. The latter more often there were aggravating relationships between boys and their parents (57% of male pupils and 32% of female ones). There are almost no differences between boys and girls when it comes to smoking (32% of pupils are male and 30% of them are female), and other problems are more common among girls. Senior pupils name the following causes of conflicts with their parents: - great differences in moral and value frames, attitudes and scripts of children and adults, especially in the period of personal growth (parents and children are also diagnosed with differences in personal experience, perception of the world, assessments of their own ethnic and national identity); - lack of clear, consistent boundaries of the transition from awareness of child dependence to the freedom of an adult; - lack of clear, consistent rules for parents to build family relationships, which significantly weaken parental power during the transition of children from childhood to adolescence; - psychological and social differences in characteristics between parents and children. Pupils explain the latter with different ideas of schoolchildren about themselves, their own future, the formation of personally and professionally significant experience of adults. The latter also laments the children’s lack of perception of the evaluative and control role of adults in relations to the needs of pupils in achieving sovereignty; - mental overload of both parents and children and, as a result, – a change in scenarios and scenarios plans of family relationships.

Ketersediaan tenaga pemanjat saat ini semakin sulit didapat, sehingga dibutuhkan varietas kelapa yang berbuah cepat, berbatang pendek dan pertambahan tinggi batang lambat. Varietas kelapa tersebut dapat dirakit dengan menyilangkan kelapa Genjah dengan kelapa Dalam yang pertambahan tinggi batangnya lambat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penampilan bibit dua genotipe kelapa hibrida hasil persilangan Genjah Kuning Bali (GKB), Genjah Raja (GRA) dengan Dalam Mapanget generasi selfing ke-4 (DMT-S4) serta Genjah Kuning Nias (GKN ) x Dalam Tenga (DTA) atau Khina-1 sebagai pembanding. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga perlakuan dan sembilan ulangan, masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 12 tanaman. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah A = GKB x DMT-S4, B = GRA x DMT-S4 dan C = GKN x DTA. Hasil penelitian pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tingkat bibit dari ketiga genotipe kelapa hibrida tersebut memperlihatkan bahwa kecambah dari hibrida hasil persilangan GKB x DMT-S4 memiliki viabilitas tertinggi yang diikuti oleh hasil persilangan GKN x DTA dan GRA x DMT-S4. Kecepatan kecambah dan kecepatan pecah daun bibit ketiga hibrida tersebut tidak berbeda nyata. Jumlah daun bibit hasil persilangan GKN x DTA lebih banyak dari hasil persilangan GKB x DMT-S4 dan GRA x DMT-S4 (umur 2 hingga 5 bulan), namun pada umur 6 bulan jumlah daun bibit hasil persilangan GKB x DMT S4 (7,75 helai) tidak berbeda nyata dengan GKN x DTA (7,97 helai). Rata-rata pertambahan daun/bulan bibit dari setiap hibrida tersebut adalah: 1,28 helai (GKB x DMT S4), 1,13 helai (GRA x DMT S4) dan 1,21 helai (GKN x DTA). Berdasarkan penelitian ini diketahui bahwa bibit hasil persilangan GKB x DMT S4 dan GRA x DMT S4 lebih pendek dengan lingkar batang lebih kecil dibanding GKN x DTA. Availability of climbers is limited, therefore, coconut varieties that are early mature, short and slowly growing trunk are needed. The coconut varieties can be assembled by crossing Dwarf coconut palm with Tall coconut palm which slowly growing trunk. This research aims to know the appearance of hybrid coconut seedlings from crosses of two superior varieties Dwarf coconut Bali Yellow Dwarf (BYD), Raja Dwarf (RBD) with Mapanget Tall Fourth Selfing Generation (MTT S4) and Nias Yellow Dwarf (NYD) x Tenga Tall (TAT) or Khina-1 as a comparison. This experimental was arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three treatments and nine replications, each replication was consisted of 12 palms. The treatment is A = BYD x MTT-S4, B = RBD x MTT-S4 dan C = NYD x TAT. Results showed that hybrid from BYD x MTT S4 has the highest viability followed by NYD x TAT and RBD x MTT S4. Germination rate and leaf splitting time of three hybrid were not significantly different. More over leaves number of NYD x TAT is more than that of BYD x MTT S4 and RBD x MTT S4 (ages 2 to 5 months), but at the age of 6 months, leaves number of BYD x MTT S4 (7.75) was not significantly different from NYD x TAT (7.97). While the average leaves increase per month of each hybrid are: 1.28 (BYD x MTT S4), 1.13 (RBD x MTT S4) and 1.21 (NYD x TAT). The result of this study showed that coconut hybrid from BYD x MTT S4 and RBD x MTT S4 are shorter than NYD x TAT. Hybrid lines of BYD x MTT S4 and RBD x MTT S4 have a smaller girth of seedling than coconut hybrid of NYD x TAT. Coconut hybrid lines of BYD x MTT S4 and RBD x MTT S4 are promising in producing coconut varieties that early mature, short and slowly growing trunk.</p><p>Keywords: Coconut hybrid, seedling, dwarf, early mature.</p>

As Albert Hirschman has recently observed, critics and advocates of a capitalist, market economy are forever reinventing the wheel, repeating arguments made by their forebears decades and sometimes centuries ago. Take the following observations of a social critic—let his name, for the moment, remain a mystery—as he casts his gaze upon the cultural influence of the market. New forms of capitalist economic organization, he observes, have led to the disappearance of the link between ownership of property and civic responsibility. Men are so involved in acquisition, he laments, that they no longer have time for political concerns and public life. He sees an eclipse of civic virtue, a diminishing willingness to sacrifice private concerns for the public good. Changes in social structure brought about by capitalist development are no less worrisome. The process of the market is leading to the replacement of once-independent producers by men who are mere specialized cogs in a productive machine. The cultural consequences of capitalism are cause for despair. The ever-shifting, international fashions on which the market thrives are destroying authentic, indigenous culture. New forms of capitalist merchandising prosper by arousing novel desires, creating tastes for consumer goods which people do not really need, and leading to excessive expenditure which is bankrupting the economy. Most pernicious are unprecedented marketing techniques which undermine the steadying influence of the family by invading the household itself.

The paper aims at investigating the critical opinions about Bernard Shaw’s ambivalent relation to feminism. In this regard, the researchers highlight the emerging role of postfeminism and its overlapping elements with the Islamic portrayal of womanhood. Shaw differs from his predecessors drastically – he portrays independent female characters as compared to the invisible and submissive females of the past. Thus, one of the striking features of Shaw’s drama is the depiction of liberated women. The Shavian women do not consider men folk as their rivals. There is a shift from powerless to empowered women in academia. The researchers find out that there is an ideological conflict between feminism and Islam but as far as postfeminism is concerned, there is none. Rather, postfeminism propagates and supports the Islamic concept of womanhood thoroughly. It is also worth noting that feminist ideas and ideology have greatly dented the social and political fabric of mankind and human civilization in general. Whereas, postfeminism propagates in favor of maintaining a balanced position for womanhood in life which is a balance between social and individual life, and a balance between professional and family life. The purpose of this article is to promote a better understanding of the status of women in Islam and its overlapping and common areas with postfeminism, that is, God has equated female folk at par with their male folk. The research is significant as it challenges the western notion of women in Islam and dispels the erroneous notions of suppression of women in Islam. The prime finding of this research is that postfeminism proclaims equal footing for men and women in life, as enshrined in the Holy Quran. Further, the researchers lament that just because of myopic-minded people, the world is not making any progress intellectually. The researchers recommend that there is a dire need to promote liberal intellectuals like Shaw who harbor no bias against Islam and Muslims to maintain peace and order in the world.

This kingdom migrate three times, namely from Patimunin, Adi Island, and the city of Kaimana. ABSTRAK: Tanaman anggrek merupakan salah satu tanaman yang termasuk dalam family Orchidaceae. Tanaman ini merupakan bunga potong yang banyak disukai selain mawar dan melati. Pengembangbiakan anggrek secara alami menggunakan biji sangat sulit karena anggrek mempunyai laju pertumbuhan dari fase biji hingga mencapai tanaman dewasa yang sangat lambat, sehingga dapat diperbanyak menggunakan teknik kultur jaringan. Perbanyakan dengan teknik kultur jaringan menggunakan biji akan menghasilkan tanaman anggrek lebih banyak, membutuhkan waktu yang singkat dan bebas dari hama penyakit. Tingkat keragaman dari tanaman anggrek hasil kultur jaringan dapat ditentukan melalui pengukuran karakter morfologi. Tanaman anggrek juga dapat dilihat dari pertumbuhannya dengan berbagai macam formulasi media tumbuh. Jenis media yang baik digunakan untuk pertumbuhan anggrek adalah jenis media tanam yang memiliki kemampuan menyimpan air dan hara yaitu cocopeat dan ampas sagu. Penggunaan jenis media formulasi ampas sagu masih minim. Oleh karena itu, penelitian yang mengkaji pertumbuhan tanaman anggrek perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pertumbuhan vegetatif G. scriptum pada berbagai macam formulasi media tumbuh berbasis ampas sagu secara in vitro. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 8 bulan yaitu dari bulan Maret sampai bulan Oktober 2018 di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Fakultas Pertanian dan Screen House Universitas Papua. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (a) Pertumbuhan tanaman anggrek hingga 8 bulan pengamatan terhadap variabel jumlah daun dan jumlah anakan tidak berbeda nyata, (b) Media ampas sagu + kompos (P2) merupakan media yang dapat menginduksi pertumbuhan jumlah daun tanaman anggrek terbanyak, (c) Media ampas sagu + pupuk kandang (P1) dan ampas sagu + kompos (P2) merupakan media yang menginduksi munculnya anakan pada anggrek G. scriptum paling cepat.

Purpose: Digital financial services delivered through fintech have grown substantially in developing countries to address the issues of access, affordability, and usage that cripple financial inclusion in these countries. Despite the growth of digital financial services researchers continue to lament the problem of financial inclusion for women. Researchers continue to allude to most women being digitally financially excluded in developing countries. Through a systematic literature review, this study sought to establish the challenges explaining the digital financial exclusion of women or the continued low levels of financial inclusion in developing countries. In addition, the paper sought to unpack how the digital financial inclusion or exclusion of women could impact the realization of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Methodology: The paper adopted a systematic review approach. Literature on the subject was gathered from Scopus indexed journals, reviewed and synthesized Findings: The research established that factors such as digital, social, and financial inclusion, taxation of DFS, socioeconomic and sociocultural challenges as well literacy challenges, and regulatory and legal factors were responsible for the financial and digital financial exclusion of women, thus expanding the gender gap. Digital financial inclusion was found to be critical for economic development and the fruition of SDGs because women spend more on family, and development and generally save better than men. Originality/Value: Digital financial inclusion and financial inclusion are very fundamental to sustainable development and the accomplishment of the SDGs globally and more so in developing countries. Developing countries face an array of challenges toward achieving sustainable development and economic growth. These challenges include poverty and extreme poverty, corruption, resources shortages, lower levels of development, unemployment, and inequality as well as the financial exclusion of vulnerable groups of the population. While several studies have explored challenges of financial inclusion in developing countries, there is a dearth in literature that explores the intersection between digital financial inclusion or exclusion of women in developing countries and the realization of the SDGs. This paper sought to address this void by imploring the intersection between gender disparity and digital financial inclusion as these concern the realization of SDGs in developing economies.

The article is devoted to folklore and traditional customs of the Chelyabinsk Bashkirs. The purpose of the study is to show the degree of knowledge of Bashkir folklore in this area. Archival data, expedition materials, publications of folklorists devoted to folk art and culture of the population of this region are used as sources, unique features of various folklore genres are highlighted. Many of the texts recorded by folklorists in this region have already been published in the volumes “Bashkir Folk Art”, at the same time there are many unpublished ones. The folklore of the Bashkirs of the Chelyabinsk region today is represented mainly by the following genres: rituals, religious and mystical legends, songs, lament songs, munajats, spiritual poems, proverbs, sayings, beliefs, omens, prohibitions, ditties. Calendar holidays such as Rook porridge, goose help, as well as sabantui, held in honor of the end of sowing, have been preserved in the villages. Of the religious rites, the most stable are Ayat ukutyu (reading the ayats of the Quran), Nikah ukutyu (reading nikah), Korban bayram (Feast of Sacrifice), and the performance of funeral rites in accordance with the canons of Islam. One of the peculiar rituals of the local Bashkirs is the holiday “Aumala bayramy” (Aumal Holiday). Of the family rituals, the wedding ceremony is most different, which has many features. For example, holding a kuresh fight during a wedding is associated with the ancient custom of choosing a groom. As it is known from Bashkir epics and fairy tales, in ancient times, a girl chose the husband of the one who won the kuresh fight. As evidenced by the materials of recent expeditions, informants well remember toponymic legends, anecdotes-kulyamas, riddles, proverbs, sayings, beliefs, omens and prohibitions. However, genres such as fairy tales, historical legends and legends, baits, and games have become less common. The author concludes that the folklore of three districts has been studied more systematically: Argayashsky, Kunashaksky and Sosnovsky, therefore there is a need to organize scientific expeditions to collect folklore and ethnographic material to the rest of the region, where Bashkirs live compactly.

<p><em>The Uninhabitable Houses assistance program is an effort of the Indonesian government to assist the underprivileged in having decent housing. The process of analyzing data and criteria that are still carried out directly by the appraiser causes the decision results to be inconsistent. Processes that have not used computational tools also cause the process to be slow. This study aims to build a decision support application in determining the candidate for home surgery assistance by applying the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method as the reasoning basis for the application. SAW works by analyzing the parameters of the work of the head of the family, the income of the head of the family, the number of dependents of the family, the condition of the house, the type of roof of the house, the type of floor of the house, the status of the house, and the status of the land. Validation of the accuracy of the SAW algorithm performance in the application is done by comparing the results of manual SAW calculations with Application-based SAW calculations. The validation results show that the SAW process in the application has worked correctly. Functional testing of the application is carried out using the Blackbox Testing method. Proses yang belum menggunakan alat bantu komputasi juga menyebabkan proses menjadi lambat. Penelitian ini bertujuan membangun aplikasi pendukung keputusan dalam penentuan calon penerima bantuan bedah rumah dengan menerapkan metode <em>Simple Additive Weighting</em> (SAW) sebagai basis penalaran aplikasi. SAW bekerja dengan menganalisis parameter <em>pekerjaan kepala keluarga, penghasilan kepala keluarga, jumlah tanggungan keluarga, kondisi rumah, jenis atap rumah, jenis lantai rumah, status rumah</em>, dan <em>status tanah</em>. Validasi ketepatan kinerja algoritma SAW dalam aplikasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil perhitungan SAW secara manual dengan Perhitungan SAW berbasis Aplikasi. Hasil validasi menunjukkan Proses SAW dalam aplikasi telah bekerja secara benar. Pengujian fungsional aplikasi dilakukan dengan metode <em>Blackbox Testing</em>. Abstract: French astrophysicist Jean-Claude Pecker, who passed away in early 2020, left behind a rich body of work that reflects his active engagement with areas beyond the scientific, among them the visual arts, social activism, and poetry. This paper follows Pecker as he grapples with the loss of his parents in the Holocaust and articulates the impact of this loss on his life and work. My discussion draws primarily on Pecker’s poetry collections Galets poétiques and Lamento 1944–1994 , with occasional references to other writings, among them a provisional draft of the opening chapter from Pecker’s memoir and letters recounting his family history. Allusions to Pecker’s Jewish heritage are absent from the poetry collections yet are prominently present in other writings in the context of antisemitism as the core of his “feeling Jewish” on the one hand and the rejection of Judaism among all other religions on the other. Reflecting on the violence that afflicted his life during the war years and admitting his deep pessimism regarding the future of both humanity and the environment, the elderly Pecker conveys in his writings a sense of diminished agency both in his own life and in that of the sun, the celestial body broadly considered a mainstay of his scientific work. Contextualizing Pecker among his peers, I suggest that while the themes of deportation and death figure centrally in the poems, Pecker is less in conversation with Holocaust poetry or poets and more in dialogue with a group of French artist-friends, united in the knowledge of nature’s timeless beauty and in the recognition of the presence within humanity of love, friendship, and the unlimited capacity for inflicting harm and great pain.

Strain Rajadanu merupakan populasi ikan mas yang mempunyai daya tahan terhadap serangan koi herpes virus (KHV) relatif lebih baik dibandingkan strain lainnya. Namun demikian, populasi ikan dengan daya tahan yang tinggi diduga mempunyai laju pertumbuhan yang lebih lambat. Hal ini karena adanya fenomena sharing energi untuk berbagai karakter yang berbeda. Dalam kegiatan seleksi, salah satu strategi yang dapat ditempuh untuk mengantisipasi fenomena tersebut adalah dengan melakukan seleksi secara bersamaan (tandem selection) terhadap karakter-karakter tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan populasi ikan mas strain Rajadanu dengan laju pertumbuhan cepat, sebagai bagian dari program perakitan strain unggul ikan mas tahan KHV. Sebagai hewan uji adalah populasi dasar (F0) sintetik yang dibentuk tahun 2010, terdiri atas 2 cohort ikan mas strain Rajadanu dengan masing-masing populasi terdiri atas 10 famili yang bersifat full-sib. Seleksi dilakukan menggunakan metode seleksi individu (mass selection) pada saat bobot rata-rata populasi mencapai ukuran konsumsi, yaitu antara 200-300 g/ekor. Cut off seleksi ditentukan berdasarkan hasil sampling sebelum kegiatan seleksi dilakukan, yaitu bobot individu terendah pada 20% individu terbaik, sebesar 400 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot rata-rata pada cohort 1 dan 2 masing-masing sebesar 271,91 g dan 247,49 g dengan bobot rata-rata populasi terseleksi masing-masing cohort sebesar 558,18 g dan 528,08 g, sehingga menghasilkan nilai diferensial seleksi sebesar 286,27 g dan 280,39 g. Hasil analisis terhadap nilai heritabilitas (dalam arti luas/broad sense) karakter bobotkedua cohort ikan mas tersebut sebesar 42% dan 30%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, prediksi respon seleksi yang akan diperoleh pada generasi selanjutnya (F1) pada masing-masing cohort sebesar 123,01 g dan 84,12 g setara dengan 45,27% dan 33,96%.

Abstract: Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS) is one of the government's programs to accelerate poverty reduction as stated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) number 166 of 2014. Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS) functions as a marker for underprivileged people and also as an identity card to get the Prosperous Family Savings Program. However, sometimes KKS assistance is not on target. This is because the assessment of prospective recipients of KKS assistance is subjective and the selection process is quite slow. This research was conducted with the aim of designing a web-based decision support information system using the TOPSIS (Technique For Order Of Preference by Similarity To Ideal) method in the process of selecting prospective recipients of KKS assistance. The result of this research is an information system that can produce a sequence of KKS aid recipients as a consideration in determining the recipients of KKS assistance. Sedangkan perkawinan yang tidak sehat karena orang tua yang suka cekcok, dan karena masih menjalani hubungan dengan wanita idaman lain dan pria idaman lain, maka berdampak pada kesehatan mental anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas perkawinan dan dampak pada kesehatan mental anak berusia 6-12 tahun di desa Tesabela, Kecamatan Kupang Barat, Kabupaten Kupang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan subjek berjumlah 7 orang yang terdiri atas 2 keluarga. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh dari masing-masing keluarga mengatakan bahwa dalam perkawinan yang sudah dibangun selama ini cenderung di dalam sikap maupun kata-kata sering menyertakan kekerasan secara verbal dan nonverbal yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan mental anak, di mana anak merasa bodoh sehingga berkelanjutan dengan dampak anak lambat dalam hal berpikir dan yang belum terarah. Dampak kesehatan mental terhadap kelakuan anak yang nakal, sering menyendiri, dan berkemauan keras. Demikian juga dampak yang ditimbulkan adalah anak menjadi pendiam dan pemalu, tidak menghargai khususnya pada ayah dan bersifat kasar. Akibatnya anak memiliki perasaan tentang keadaan diri yang kurang diterima. A healthy marriage system is a good relationship between husband and wife as well as the relationship between parents and cildren. Meanwhile, unhealthy marriages because parents are bickering, and because they are still in relationships with other ideal women and other ideal men, have an impact on the mental health of the children. The purpose of this study was to determine which families in unhealthy marriages have an impact on the mental health of children aged 6 – 12 years in Tesabela Village, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with 7 subjects consisting of 2 families. Based on the result of the data analysis obtained from each family, it is said that in marriages that have been built so far, the attitude and words often include non-verbal violence which can have an impact on the mental health of the child, where the child feels stupid so that it issustainable. With the impact of the child being slow in thinking and unfocused. Mental health impacts on child behaviour that is naughty, often aloof, and strong-willed. Likewise, the resulting impact is that the child becomes quiet and shy, does not respect especially the father and is rude. ABSTRACT The birth process is a stressful and worrying time for a woman and her family. Fear, tension and anxiety may result in a slow birth. One of the mother's affections during labor is being able to choose a comfortable position for pushing, letting the mother choose the position she wants during straining and giving birth will provide many benefits including less pain and discomfort. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Maryam delivery on the acceleration of labor in primigravida women in 2023. The type of research used in this study was an observational type of research. This study used a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was 30 normal stage 2 mothers. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The results of the study using the Chi Square statistical test obtained a value of ρ = 0.000, this means that ρ <α (0.05) or means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus there is an influence of the Maryam Delivery Method on the duration of the second stage of labor in primiparous mothers. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 ibu Inpartu kala 2 normal. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah secara Purposive Sampling. Hasil penelitian menggunakan uji statistic Chi Square didaptkan nilai ρ = 0,000 ini berarti ρ < α (0,05) atau berarti H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima.
