The Vision System has been widely used for monitoring the process quality in different industrial fields. To ensure that the manufactured products satisfy the most stringent quality requirements, for manufacturers, the most important matter lies in the logical detection of the vision system with edit-ability, consistency, and repeatability in measurement results. The manual judgment of the product characteristics can result in poor quality due to long hours of work which causes inspectors with poor mental and physical exhaustion. On the other hand, the use of the vision technology in manufacturing systems can not only measure, inspect, and verify the geometrical size and integrity but also record and monitor quality information of the products during the manufacturing process. In this technical report, we first combine the KEYENCE vision system with the automated equipment detection to find the Region of Interest (ROI). After image processing, we have compared the measured values of the image with the standard values for pattern matching to detect the similarities between the label printing and the standard values for judging the quality requirements according to the design specifications, which will reduce the inspection time and labor cost.

In the recent years, the retailer stores have became the major channel for shopping in Taiwan. And the private label products in the retailer stores have gotten growth gradually. But the consumers still feel lack of belief for the quality of the private labels. Therefore, the retailers have the cooperation with the third-party inspection organization to check the quality of the private labels so that it can reduce the uncertain about the quality from the consumers. From a consumer point of view, this research attempts to discuss how the brand image and inspection message influence the perceive quality by different categories such as “search products” and “experience products”. The experimental design is adapted to test hypothesis. The findings of the study are as following: 1. The perceive quality of notional brands is perceived superior to that of private labels. 2. The perceive quality of international private labels is perceived superior to that of local private labels. 3. The perceive quality of the products with inspection message is perceived superior to that the products without inspection message. 4. The inspection message has more significant effects on private labels than national brands.

Abstract The goods of daily life all have labels. Some of the printing labels may have defects caused by the malfunction of the printing machine. To ensure the quality of the printed labels of high-cost goods, every printed label should be inspected. Since such a printed label inspection system is often an on-line system, the automatic printed label inspection system should be capable of checking the quality of a printed label as fast as the printing machine. However, the computing requirement of such a system is beyond the computing capability of a general personal computer because the image of a printed label has a huge mount of data. In this thesis, a PC-based cluster computing environment is established to build a low-cost, high-speed, and high-flexibility printed label inspection system. The simulation results have proven the feasibility of the proposed approach.
