Saleh, Nada. "Les didascalies dans la trilogie espagnole de Beaumarchais." Toulouse 2, 2003. http://www.theses.fr/2003TOU20035.
Full textDidascalies are often considered as a marginal part of the dramatic text. The dialectics between the text and representations, in other words, between the ability of the playwright and that of the producer, has always aroused a fairly interesting polemic. Didascalies, being that part of the text that conveys the staging imagined by the author, the object of this research is to show, through the example of Beaumarchais, that these might have a primordial importance regarding the period, the requisites of theatrical life and also the authors. Their place and their scope are undeniable in the Spanish Trilogy of this great author of the XVIIIth century. They are the reflection of the conflict of precedence between the dramatist, promoter of the Society of Dramatic Authors, and the comedians or responsibles of the scenic execution before the invention of staging. The study of the historical and aesthetic context is essential to show the influences that Beaumarchais had to come under and which have led to the introduction of a genuine didascalic writing

Full textBeaumarchais made his dramaturgical entry when French theatre was undergoing a crisis. How to write as a playwright? He solved this issue on three levels and developed a theory of fusion already started by other precursors: Fontenelle, Nivelle de la Chaussée, Destouches, Voltaire and Diderot. First of all, by advocating the fusion of the comic and the dramatic, he stimulated the effects of gaiety and tenderness in his audience, officially announcing the birth of the new genre: Drama. This overcomes the clear separation between the tragic and the comic, thus taking the first step within the theatrical genre towards a revolution that opens up a whole range of possibilities. Then, by introducing narrative elements into the theatrical genre, he achieved the fusion between the novel and the theatre, revolutionising the concept of dramatic genre. For him, dramatic poetics was not just a question of formal aesthetics, but of the literary extension of his life as a fighter, which relates to the historic, social and political context of his time. From a reception perspective, his use of metadramatic discourse allowed his audience to be constantly wavering between distance and illusion. This revolutionised the relationship between stage and audience, and had a considerable influence on his posterity. In the broadest sense, Beaumarchais’ metatheatrical discourse transcended his time. The secular circulation of the Spanish trilogy will enable Chinese audiences to study Beaumarchais' singular address on his dramatic poetics and its rich ideological connotations, which will blend into Chinese history, society and aesthetics. In this way, Beaumarchais and his works will become part of the genealogy of classical foreign literature in China, and a typical event in the world literature

Lacharme-Brière, Delphine. "Trilogia de la soledad de Juan José Millas : la quête de soi dans le roman postmoderne." Saint-Etienne, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009STET2213.
Full textThis work is an analysis of "El desorden de tu nombre"(1988), "La soledad era esto"(1990), three major noves by the Spanish writer Jaun Jose Millas wich were together in 1996 in a book entitled "Trilogia de la soledad". This romantic cycle, centered on the topic of the search for identity marks the entry of the millasian writings into postmedernity. The universe of these metafictional works is marked by the millasian romantic narrator. At the same time, the narrator begins to figure out new narative, meaningful expressions through self-organising mechanisms in the novel. He seeks to go past the usual access to reality and meaning by emphasing the illusions of identity and of reality. Thus, a recurrent motive of the search for self underlies "Trilogia de la soledad" and is used as an Ariane's thread throughout this study, strongly inspired by the theories of the philosopher Paul Ricoeur about narrative identity. Consenquently, this analysis attempts to give an account of the density of the novels, wich can be seen as an interface between the poetical, philosophical, cognitive, psychoanalytical dimensions of the millasian writings

Full textBefore analysing the novel trilogy which includes "María la hija de un jornalero" (1845-1846), "La marquesa de Bellaflor o el niño de la Inclusa" (1846-1847) and "El palacio de los crímenes o el pueblo y sus opresores" (1855), we wish to highlight the personality of its author, Wenceslao Ayguals de Izco (1801-1873), an outstanding figure of Spain in the 1840s. Apart from his literary dedication, he has also been a prominent politician, a military and a publisher. The second part of this work is devoted to the study of the literary features of these novels, often considered as popular novels because they were published and sold in fascicules. This analysis of formal characteristics shows the existence of a predominant mechanism which prevails in what could be called para literary or popular novel: in the case of the author's trilogy, this mechanism is repetition at intra-textual, inter-textual level and between the different types of novels. Our study of the three novels concerns the structure, the characters and the specific relationship which concerns according to the theory of the reception, the narrator of the para-literary story and the reader. Nonetheless, this trilogy cannot be considered only as a popular novel. In spite of the profusion of labels which characterise this kind of novels and which are unsatisfactory, one label seems to be more appropriate and we have chosen to use the term of "mosaic kind" of novel. Different elements as fiction, history, description of places and customs, figures and paintings are included in these novels because they are felt as serving progress. Ayguals, as many writers of the 19th century, is a privileged witness of the society he lives in and a spokesman entrusted with the task of rousing consciousness and who wants to spur on the organisation of a more coherent society. This trilogy, because it impregnated with social reformism, is a committed novel
