This research discusses of rituals for Dewi Kwan Im celebration that is the day Dewi Kwan Im leaving the world. Dewi Kwan Im is the Goddess who was highly respected by Khonghucu people’s because Dewi Kwan Im trusted can be helps Khonghucu people’s who need helps. Therefore Khonghucu people’s always celebrate the biggest day of Dewi Kwan Im. Dewi Kwan Im Temple where located at KM 12 Palembang also held a celebration ceremony in welcoming the great day of Dewi Kwan Im with has its own rituals tradition in carrying out the celebration ceremony of Dewi Kwan Im. Every rituals procession which help held in Dewi Kwan Im Palembang Temple has a meaning in it. The purpose of this research is to know the meaning of rituals celebration for Dewi Kwan Im at Dewi Kwan Im Temple Palembang and to know the tradition which did by the Khonghucu people’s at Dewi Kwan Im Temple Palembang in celebrating the rituals of Dewi Kwan Im. The theories which used in this research are semiotics theory, transcendental communication theory and assimilation theory. The research methods that used is qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The data results were obtained through direct observation to Dewi Kwan Im Palembang Temple, interviews with five sources, and literature studies. The conclusion of this research is the celebration rituals of Dewi Kwan Im at Dewi Kwan Im Palembang Temple is a form of respect and gratitude of Khonghucu people’s to Dewi Kwan Im for the blessings and help which recieved by the Khonghucu people’s during this time. Other than that the tradition which there at Dewi Kwan Im Palembang Temple is a combination of Hokkien culture society.Penelitian ini membahas upacara perayaan Dewi Kwan Im yaitu hari Dewi Kwan Im meninggalkan dunia. Dewi Kwan Im merupakan dewi yang sangat dihormati oleh umat Khonghucu sebab Dewi Kwan Im dipercaya dapat membantu umat Khonghucu yang membutuhkan pertolongan. Oleh karena itu umat Khonghucu selalu merayakan hari besar Dewi Kwan Im. Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im yang berada di KM 12 Palembang turut mengadakan upacara perayaan dalam menyambut hari besar Dewi Kwan Im dengan memiliki tradisi upacara sendiri dalam melaksanakan upacara perayaan Dewi Kwan Im. Setiap prosesi upacara yang dilaksanakan di Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang mempunyai makna di dalamnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna upacara perayaan Dewi Kwan Im yang dilaksanakan di Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang dan untuk mengetahui tradisi yang dilakukan oleh umat Khonghucu di Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang dalam merayakan upacara Dewi Kwan Im. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori semiotika, teori komunikasi transendental dan teori asimilasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung ke Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang, wawancara dengan lima narasumber, dan studi kepustakaan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah upacara perayaan Dewi Kwan Im yang dilaksanakan di Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang merupakan bentuk rasa hormat dan terima kasih umat Khonghucu kepada Dewi Kwan Im atas berkat dan pertolongan yang diterima oleh umat Khonghucu selama ini. Selain itu tradisi yang ada di Kelenteng Dewi Kwan Im Palembang merupakan gabungan dari budaya masyarakat Hokkien.

Abstract:
Kwan Yin, although typically depicted as female in Chinese literature and artworks, is originally a male deity Avalokite?vara in India. This essay examines the process, reason, and impact of Kwan Yin’s feminization in the ancient Chinese context and argues that her gender transformation is a transformation to the mother stereotype. The essay mainly relies on primary source of Buddhist texts and folklores of Kwan-Yin in China and secondary sources researching the gender transformation of Kwan-Yin through historical and sociological lens. The essay concludes that while the female Kwan Yin’s popularity could be seen as gender empowering, the mother stereotype she and female deities of other religions embody in fact dismisses woman’s individual value.

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract in English only.The objective of this paper is to reject Kwan’s claim in his paper “Does the Soul Exist? What Near-Death Experiences Reveal.” As Kwan draws heavily on references from Pim van Lommel, I also reject van Lommel’s position. Kwan and van Lommel’s claim is that the phenomenon of NDE supports the view that people’s experiential content and their consciousness exist independently of their physical bodies. I raise three objections to Kwan. First, I argue that there is a fundamental difference between life and death; therefore, the phenomena of NDE may give us little idea of whether some form of experience exists after death. Second, there is no evidence that an NDE happens at the exact moment the patient’s body shuts down. The Mass Transit Railway Corporation proposes to construct the Tseung Kwan O Depot (TKD) within Area 86 reclamation at Tseung Kwan O as part of the Tseung Kwan O Extension. The proposed foundation for the TKD comprises about 1000 large-diameter, bored, cast in situ, drilled shafts founded on or socketed into rock. To confirm the design allowable end bearing capacity and rock socket side resistance for the drilled shaft foundations, two test piles were constructed and tested. Both test piles were instrumented with strain gauges and rod extensometers. This paper presents the static compressive load test results on both test piles. The test results indicate that an end bearing capacity of 20.8 MPa (design allowable 7.5 MPa) and rock socket side resistance 2.63 MPa (design allowable 0.75 MPa) are achieved during the pile load tests with no sign of failure.Key words: drilled shaft, static load test, end bearing capacity, rock socket, rock socket side resistance, load transfer.

<p>Orchid plant response to light intensity is dependent to crop variety. Generally, epyphyte orchid need less light intensity compare to teresterial orchid. The experiment aim to analyse the response of Mokara Chark Kwan to reducing light intensity. Randomised BlockDesign has been employed using five types of net with five replication. The main asumption to analyse is that plant well growing with sufficient nutrient and homogen age. The results indicated that more reducing light intensity is more increment of plant height and width of leave. Reducing light intensity, however, is not influence flower initiation and formation.</p>

The Vihara Avalokitesvara (a Buddhist place of worship) is located in Pama¬rican, Customs, Serang. This vihara is the oldest vihara in Banten and was built in the 16th century. Nuances of Chinese and Buddhist architecture may be seen in the dragon decoration among other things and in the menyeruapi burning paper of the pagoda and in the painting and sculpture of Kwan lm Pouw Sat, and the sculpture of Wie Tho Pou Sat. There is a large statue of the Buddha and a picture of the lotus flower. And yet there are Islamic nuances also. There is a relief depicting the wedding of Princess Ong Tin with Syarif Hidayatullah. This vihara is visited by many Muslims as well as by Buddhists. Keywords: Vihara, Buddha, Chinese, Islam, Banten Vihara Avalokitesvara berlokasi di Pamarican, Pabean, Serang. Vihara ini merupakan vihara yang tertua di Banten dan diperkirakan dibangun sekitar abad ke-16. Untuk mengungkapkan unsur-unsur etnis dan agama pada arsitektur vihara ini dianalisis secara semiotik. Berdasarkan analisis ini maka diketahui unsur-unsur bernuansa Tionghoa yaitu antara lain hiasan naga, tempat pembakaran kertas yang menyeruapi pagoda, lukisan dan patung Dewi Kwan Im, patung Kwan lm Pouw Sat, dan patung Wie Tho Pou Sat. Adapun unsur-unsur agama Buddha dalam vihara ini antara lain patung besar Buddha Gautama dan gambar bunga teratai. Selain itu juga terdapat unsur bernuansa Islam yaitu pada relief yang menggam¬barkan pernikahan Putri Ong Tin dengan Syarif Hidayatullah. Between 1975 and 1988, the Korean Public Performance Ethics Committee (KPPEC) censored obscene language, body exposure, and extreme violence, as is common in all forms of theatre censorship. However, the KPPEC focused in particular on depictions of the President of South Korea, and proscribed any work that challenged or even questioned the public image of the President as a strong leader for a nation in crisis. Despite the official abolition of censorship in 1988, it was discovered in 2016 that a blacklist had been in operation that excluded ‘left’ and ‘pro-Pyongyang’ theatre directors and actors from accessing public funding. By exploring the process of censorship, Seong-kwan Cho in this article interrogates the relationship between the theatre and the nation. Seong-kwan Cho is a lecturer at the School of Global Communication at Kyung Hee University. With Jae-beom Hong, in his current research he has been exploring North Korean performance, and his article on this subject is forthcoming in Asian Theatre Journal.

Yi Sun-shin (1545–98), an admiral of the Joseon dynasty, is a Korean national hero who is admired by both North and South Korea regardless of political ideology. In South Korea, Yi was portrayed as a solitary hero who sacrificed himself to save the country despite the blame and entrapment he suffered as a result. Alongside, North Korea presented Yi as an ideal leader with the warmth of a father figure who embraced the people's aspirations to fight against their Japanese enemies. In this article, Seong-kwan Cho and Jae-beom Hong discuss these representations of Yi and survey North Korean theatre of the 1960s, which is rarely examined in theatre scholarship outside the Korean peninsula. Seong-kwan Cho (first author) lectures in the Korean Department of Konkuk University, and published in NTQ136 on South Korean theatre censorship. Jae-beom Hong (corresponding author) is a Professor in the same Department. The pair have recently been researching North Korean realist theatre, and this article is their third on the subject. Abstract:
The presence of literary works translated from foreign languages in Indonesia enriches the literary readership in region (Adi, 2016). In addition to gaining a wider readership, the understanding of the literary text will improve. Readers who may not fully understand the version in the original language have the opportunity to digest the story thoroughly. The comprehensive understanding becomes more important when dealing with foreign literature talking about Indonesia, such as Kevin Kwan's Crazy Rich Asians trilogy. The trilogy was translated into Bahasa as Kaya Tujuh Turunan (2016), Kekasih Kaya Raya (2017), and Masalah Orang Kaya (2018). This article examines how Indonesia is represented in the trilogy what factors influence the construction. The three novels were analyzed using the representation theory proposed by Stuart Hall with the descriptive-qualitative method. There are two representations of Indonesia, as a nation and as a state. Indonesian is represented of as a nation Chinese-Indonesians with their newly acquired wealth who are obsessed with having white skin and foreign husbands, on the one hand, non-Chinese Indonesians who work as manual due to lack of education on the other hand. Meanwhile, Indonesia as a state is represented as a developing rural country with rich and beautiful natural resources, yet are exploited by other countries and stolen by few government officials, resulting in weak economic and military situation.

As the color filter array (CFA)2.0, the RGBW CFA pattern, in which each CFA pixel contains only one R, G, B, or W color value, provides more luminance information than the Bayer CFA pattern. Demosaicking RGBW CFA images I R G B W is necessary in order to provide high-quality RGB full-color images as the target images for human perception. In this letter, we propose a three-stage demosaicking method for I R G B W . In the first-stage, a cross shape-based color difference approach is proposed in order to interpolate the missing W color pixels in the W color plane of I R G B W . In the second stage, an iterative error compensation-based demosaicking process is proposed to improve the quality of the demosaiced RGB full-color image. In the third stage, taking the input image I R G B W as the ground truth RGBW CFA image, an I R G B W -based refinement process is proposed to refine the quality of the demosaiced image obtained by the second stage. Based on the testing RGBW images that were collected from the Kodak and IMAX datasets, the comprehensive experimental results illustrated that the proposed three-stage demosaicking method achieves substantial quality and perceptual effect improvement relative to the previous method by Hamilton and Compton and the two state-of-the-art methods, Kwan et al.’s pansharpening-based method, and Kwan and Chou’s deep learning-based method.
