Abstract:
Abstract: Over the course of the nineteenth century, cities witnessed rapid changes with industrial and urban developments. However, every year, during the long summer months, spas offered their guests relaxation of mind and body, and the curative effects of mineral water. For a short period of time, modernity was made more liveable, more palatable. Carlsbad and Marienbad, two of Europe's most frequented spas, offered a space and state of spatial and temporal exceptionality. This article looks at nineteenth-century Austrian travel writing on the Bohemian spas and explores the time and temporality of the spa experiences, revealing how the temporalities of spa life affected mind and body and created a unique experience of 'embodied temporality'. From the delicate balance between the past and present in the spa environment to the strict daily regime impacting bodily time, the spas, it is argued, had their very own temporal signature. Im Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts erlebten die Städte durch Industrialisierung und Wachstum radikale Veränderungen. Jedes Jahr während der langen Sommermonate luden Kurorte ihre Gäste ein, Körper und Geist durch die heilende Wirkung von Mineralwasser zu entspannen. Für eine kurze Zeit wurde die Moderne lebenswerter und erträglicher gemacht. Karlsbad und Marienbad gehörten zu den meistbesuchten Kurorten Mitteleuropas. Sowohl zeitlich als auch räumlich schufen sie einen Zustand der Exzeptionalität. Dieser Artikel befasst sich mit den österreichischen Reiseberichten des 19. Jahrhunderts zu den böhmischen Kurorten und untersucht Zeit und Zeitlichkeit der Kurerlebnisse. Er zeigt, wie die Zeiterfahrung des Kurort-Lebens eine Art 'verkörperter/körperlicher Zeitlichkeit' schuf. Vom empfindlichen Gleichgewicht zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart in der Kurort-Umwelt bis hin zum strengen Tagesablauf, der sich auf die körperliche Zeit auswirkt, besaßen Kurorte ihre ganz eigene zeitliche Signatur.

Abstract:
Der Gesundheitstourismus hat in den letzten 20 Jahren einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Bestandserhaltung, zur Qualitätssicherung und Qualitätsfortentwicklung der deutschen Heilbäder und Kurorte geleistet. Die Kurortekrise konnte nicht zuletzt mithilfe des Gesundheitstourismus gemeistert werden. Künftig muß verstärkt um ausländische Gesundheitstouristen geworben werden, um die erkennbaren weiteren Einbrüche im Bereich der deutschen Sozialkurgäste wie der deutschen Gesundheitsurlauber zu kompensieren. Die Voraussetzungen dafür sind gut. Jedoch müssen sie einerseits verstärkt auf die Erwartungen ausländischer Gesundheitstouristen abgestimmt werden. Andererseits sind die Möglichkeiten des deutschen Kur- und Heilbäderwesens stärker als bisher schrittweise einer internationalen Öffentlichkeit bekannt und vertraut zu machen. In Thesen zusammengefaßt bedeutet dies: 1. Heilbäder und Kurorte müssen sich zu regionalen und globalen Gesundheitszentren entwickeln. 2. Dieses Ziel ist nur durch einen stärkeren Anschluß an den regionalen wie internationalen Markt des Gesundheitstourismus zu erreichen. 3. Die Überwindung der Bäderkrise der letzten 20 Jahre gelang durch Aktivierung des bundesdeutschen Gesundheitstourismus. 4. Die künftige Bestandserhaltung, Qualitätssicherung und Qualitätsfortentwicklung muß verstärkt den internationalen Gesundheitstourismus (Westeuropa, USA, Japan) erreichen. 5. Das setzt eine genaue Analyse der Gesundheits- und Kurtraditionen der Zielländer voraus, ebenso aber eine Vermittlung der global einzig-artigen Möglichkeiten in den deutschen Heilbädern und Kurorten. 6. Ebenso wird eine genaue internationale Marktanalyse erforderlich, um sich auf die Angebotsentwicklung in anderen Ländern einstellen zu können. 7. Die deutschen Heilbäder und Kurorte verfügen zur Zeit international über eine starke Marktposition quantitativ wie qualitativ. Diese Position verdanken sie dem bisher guten Zusammenspiel von Staat und Markt im deutschen Gesundheits- und Kurwesen. Diese Position kann nur durch eine gemeinsame Gesamtstrategie gehalten und global weiterentwickelt werden.

Abstract:
Abstract This article explores and analyses several remarkable parallels between two unique cultural spaces, namely, that of the Korčula Summer School and that of the Kurorte – the Grand Spas of Central Europe. Though distinct from one another with respect to their historical as well as topographical locations within Europe, it is as cultural spaces that the two share their least apparent – but perhaps most significant – points of affinity. Just as Baden-Baden had served as the ‘summer capital of Europe’ for one set of cultural elites across political, linguistic and national boundaries, so did Korčula offer a space for cultural and intellectual exchange for philosophers from both sides of the Cold War. The article demonstrates how both of these spaces were marked by their shared internationalism, their political engagement, their privilege, their respective distance from daily social orders, and their intellectual intensity. Thus, it is suggested that Central-European Kurort culture – commonly considered a belle-époque phenomenon – did indeed survive the Great Wars, and found new expressions in a post-war, socialist context.

ZusammenfassungDie ab 1996 durchgeführten Gesundheitsreformen führten zu einem starken Rückgang ambulanter Vorsorgemaßnahmen. Die deutschen Kurorte und Heilbäder verloren dadurch eine wichtige Einnahmequelle und mussten sich neue Märkte erschließen. Ein wichtiges Segment stellte hierbei der eigenfinanzierte Gesundheitstourismus dar. Es wurde daher immer wichtiger, sich mit den Bedürfnissen und Wünschen der Kundinnen und Kunden auseinanderzusetzen. Auch die Heilbäder und Kurorte Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg erkannte diese Notwendigkeit und führte im Jahr 2018 eine eigene Motiv- und Zielgruppenanalyse<fnote> Die Studie wurde mit finanzieller Unterstützung durch das Ministerium der Justiz und für Europa Baden-Württemberg finanziert.</fnote> durch. Zentrales Element dieser Studie war eine Klassifikation der Nachfrager/innen mittels Clusteranalysen. Die auf diese Weise ermittelten sechs Gesundheitstourismus-Typen bilden eine wichtige Grundlage für die künftige Vermarktung gesundheitstouristischer Angebote in den höher prädikatisierten Orten Baden-Württembergs.

Abstract:
The territory of Saint Petersburg is divided into 18 districts. One of them, the Kurortny district, has been formed in the health resort area of St. Petersburg. In 1898 by decree of Emperor Nicholas II Sestroretskiy resort with Europe's largest swimming pool with mineral water was founded on the territory of modern Kurortny district. In 1907 Sestroretskiy resort was awarded the GRAN-PRIX at the world balneology exhibition in Spa (Belgium). Currently, the Kurortny district is constantly has more than 40 establishments of sanatorium-resort complex, where annually more than 300 thousand of citizens and guests of the Northern capital improve their health. The article considers spatial communications and relations among recreational facilities. The author determines the main factors of tourism development of recreational areas, particularly reveals the main natural healing factors of the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg. The article considers the state and development prospects of the spatial relationships among recreational institutions through the example of sites of the Northern capital. The author offers technology of complex automation system of recreational facility management as a development factor of spatial relations and attracting tourists to the region and development of recreational facilities.

Abstract:
Zusammenfassung Bei einzelnen Schilddrüsenerkrankungen (Immunthyreopathie Morbus Basedow, Immunthyreopathie Hashimoto, Struma mit Autonomie) sollte eine übermäßige Jodzufuhr vermieden werden. Betreffend alimentärer Jodzufuhr gibt es dazu reichliches Informationsmaterial. Kuranwendungen werden zu einem breiten Indikationsspektrum eingesetzt und tragen einen wichtigen Teil zur Therapie gerade chronisch degenerativen Erkrankungen, zur Rehabilitation nach Traumen oder Tumorerkrankungen bei. Eine Jodzufuhr ist auch bei Kuranwendungen mit jodhaltigem Thermalwasser möglich, das Ausmaß der Jodzufuhr ist dabei abhängig von der Applikationsform und der Expositionsdauer. Informationsmaterial dazu ist nur spärlich in der Literatur zu finden. Der Artikel betrachtet jodhaltige Kuranwendungen aus thyreologischer Sicht im Spannungsfeld von positiven und möglichen negativen Auswirkungen einer jodhaltigen Kuranwendung. Neben einem Einblick in die Physiologie und Pathophysiologie des Jodstoffwechsels und Auswirkungen auf einzelne Schilddrüsenerkrankungen wird die Intensität einer Jodaufnahme bei unterschiedlichen Kuranwendungen dargestellt. Eine Übersicht von Kurorten/Thermen mit jodhaltigem Wasser in Österreich und seinen Nachbarstaaten ergänzt von einem Algorithmus zur Selektion von Patienten für eine Kur in Kurorten mit jodhaltigem Wasser wird präsentiert, um mögliche negative jodinduzierte Schilddrüsenfehlfunktionen schon vor Kurantritt zu vermeiden. Dem klinisch tätigen Arzt wird damit eine Unterstützung in der Entscheidungsfindung bei der Auswahl bzw. Ablehnung einer jodhaltigen Kuranwendung für seine Patienten zur Verfügung gestellt.

Magistro darbe yra analizuojamos įvairios Lietuvos ir užsienio autorių turizmo plėtros teorijos, subalansuota turizmo plėtra, kurortų samprata, paskirtis ir klasifikacija, funkcijos, infrastruktūra, siūlomos paslaugos, kurortologija bei Lietuvos kurortų plėtra. Atliktas Lietuvos kurortų ekonominis vertinimas: ES fondų parama ir privačios investicijos į Lietuvos kurortų paslaugų plėtrą, Lietuvos kurortų statistikos ir ekonominės veiklos analinės bei Lietuvos kurortų paslaugų konkurencingumo vertinimas. Atlikta Lietuvos kurortų SSGG analizė. Patvirtinama autoriaus suformuluota hipotezė, kad Lietuvos kurortų plėtrą labiausiai įtakoja siekis pritraukti įvairias investicijas poilsinių, gydomųjų ir pramoginių programų įgyvendinimui, siekiant europinio ar net tarptautinio pripažinimo.
Master's work is analyzed in various Lithuanian and foreign authors' theory of the development of tourism, sustainable tourism development, resorts in the concept and purpose of the classification of the functions, facilities, services offered, and the Lithuanian resorts science of health resorts development. Resorts in Lithuania made an economic assessment of EU Funds and private investment in services in the development of resorts in Lithuania, Lithuanian resorts statistics, and economic activities in Lithuania and anal service resorts competitiveness assessment. Carried out the SWOT analysis of Lithuanian resorts. Confirms the author formulated the hypothesis that the development of Lithuanian resorts influence to attract investment in various recreational, therapeutic and recreational programs, in order to European or even international recognition.

Šiuo metu vis didesnio dėmesio susilaukia, ne tik poilsiniai, bet ir gydomosios paskirties šalies kurortai, galintys pasiūlyti gydymą bei reabilitaciją. Darbe apžvelgiama gydomojo turizmo struktūra ir teikiamos paslaugos Lietuvoje. Šiuo metu didelio turistų dėmesio susilaukia Birštono kurortas, kuris pasižymi švelniu klimatu, gražia gamta bei teikiamomis sveikatingumo paslaugomis. Taigi tyrimu siekiama išsiaiškinti, kodėl turizmo vartotojai pasirenka būtent šį kurortą. Šiame darbe analizuojami turisto elgsenos veiksniai labiausiai įtakojantys turisto pasirinkimą kur keliauti. Svarbiausias veiksnys įtakojantys turistą yra motyvacija. Taigi darbe, pagal mokslininkų pateiktas keliavimo motyvų kategorijas, identifikuoti ir pateikti pagrindiniai motyvai, dėl kurių turistai pasirenka gydomojo turizmo rūšį Birštone. Abstract:

The purpose with our research in Varbergs Kurort is to study how persons that have been a part of the individual adjusted rehabilitation program First Step have found their stay during their program. The program holds a team of professionals that together work with the individual’s physical and mental health. In our study we have included eight women and to men in the age between 35-65 years who all suffered from a slight mentally illness. Out of a social psychological perspective we have based our study from the social and room environment and how their self-recovery has affected their wellbeing during their rehabilitation. In our study we have out of qualitative interviews put together our results. The interviews were out of a narrative character where the persons told us about parts out of their lives. Our results shows that there is a huge individual development depending on what faze they are in their depression ore on their way recovering from depression. Most of them felt an enormous support from the staff and by meeting people in similar situations as their own. Also the beautiful surroundings had a positive effect of their recovering. The results have been analysed from Johan Asplunds theory about social responses and unsocial responses, how the social environment affects the individual. We also made an environmental psychological analysis with the theory about restorative surroundings and the term cognitive maps that makes the spatial environmental affects of the individual rehabilitation.

Tyrimo problema: gydomojo kurorto išlaikymo galimybės ir veiklos plėtra Birštono sanatorijų „Versmė“ ir „Tulpė“ pagrindu, siekiant tapti karališkuoju kurortu. Tyrimo tikslas: • Išsiaiškinti ir suformuluoti Birštono karališkojo kurorto statuso suteikimo prielaidas, nustatyti jo plėtros galimybes. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Susipažinti su Europos karališkaisiais kurortais. 2. Nustatyti kurortų plėtros tendencijas. 3. Įvertinti kurorto poveikį vystymuisi. 4. Darbo objektas: kurortų ir kurortinių teritorijų patrauklumo kriterijai. Darbo tikslas: išanalizuoti kokiais kriterijais remiantis klientai renkasi kurortą ar kurortinę teritoriją. Problema: nėra pakankamai informacijos apie kurortų ir kurortinių teritorijų vertinimo kriterijus. Darbo uždaviniai: 1. Atskleisti kurorto ir kurortinės teritorijos sampratą. 2. Išsiaiškinti paslaugų patrauklumo kriterijus klientams kurortuose ir kurortinėse teritorijose. 3. Atlikti kurortuose ir kurortinėse teritorijose nustatytų patrauklumo elementų vertinimą. Darbo rezultatai ir išvados: Straipsnyje analizuojama kurortų samprata ir aptariami kurortų statuso reikalavimai. Nustatyta, kad pagal teikiamų paslaugų specifiką dauguma Lietuvos kurortų (Druskininkai, Birštonas ir Palanga) yra priskiriami mišriam kurortų tipui ir tik vienas - Neringa - poilsio tipui. Straipsnyje aptartos 4 Lietuvos kurortinės teritorijos (Anykščiai, Trakai, Zarasai, Ignalinos miesto Strigailiškio ir Palūšės kaimų dalių teritorijos). Išskirti pagrindiniai kurortų ir kurortinių teritorijų patrauklumo kriterijai – infrastruktūra, kainos – kokybės santykis, pramogos, sveikatingumas. Nustatyta, kad labiausiai kurortų patrauklumas susijęs su infrastruktūra, taip pat įrodyta, kad ir kiti minėti vertinimo kriterijai yra svarbūs renkatis kurortą/kurortinę teritoriją.
Object of the study: resorts and spa areas attractiveness criteria. Purpose of the study: analyze what criteria customers choose a resort or spa areas. Problem: there is not enough information about resorts and spa areas in the evaluation criteria. Main goals of this study: 1. Reveal to the resorts and resort areas concept. 2. To find out the criteria for attractiveness to customers resorts and spa areas. 3. Perform resorts and spa areas attractive elements of the evaluation set. Results and conclusions. In this article is analyzed and discussed about the concept of resort and it‘s status requirements. Also, presented resorts classification. It was found that by it‘s specifics resorts in Lithuania are classified as mixed type resort (Palanga, Druskininkai, Birštonas) and rest resort – Neringa. In this article is discussed about 4 Lithuania resort areas (Anykščiai, Trakai, Zarasai, Strigailiškis and Palūšės countryside parts of Ignalina city). In this article is also distinguished the main resorts and resort areas attractiveness criteria - infrastructure, price - quality ratio, entertainment, wellness. It was found that the main criteria of resort attractiveness is it‘s infrastructure, but in this article is also mentioned that price – quality ratio, entertainment and wellness is also important for choosing resort.

A model of an artificial beach is suggested for protection of coasts under erosion due to intense storm surges. It is shown that the coarser beach sand results in decrease of the beach width and growth of nourishment volume. At the same time relative material loss due to long-shore sediment transport diminishes too. The model has been applied to three sections of the coasts of Kurortny district of S.-Petersburg (eastern part of the Gulf of Finland). It recommends medium sand for the beaches construction. Modeling of extreme storms effect shows only minor deformations for designed beach profiles. For the beaches more than 1 km long even in 30-50 years more than a half of the initial beach volume conserves without additional nourishment.

Coastal zone of the Eastern Gulf of Finland is subjected to essential natural and anthropogenic impact. The processes of abrasion and accumulation are predominant. While some coastal protection structures are old and ruined the problem of monitoring and coastal management is actual. Remotely sensed data is important component of geospatial information for coastal environment research. Rapid development of modern satellite remote sensing techniques and data processing algorithms made this data essential for monitoring and management. Multispectral imagers of modern high resolution satellites make it possible to produce advanced image processing, such as relative water depths estimation, sea-bottom classification and detection of changes in shallow water environment. In the framework of the project of development of new coast protection plan for the Kurortny District of St.-Petersburg a series of archival and modern satellite images were collected and analyzed. As a result several schemes of underwater parts of coastal zone and schemes of relative bathymetry for the key areas were produced. The comparative analysis of multi-temporal images allow us to reveal trends of environmental changes in the study areas. This information, compared with field observations, shows that remotely sensed data is useful and efficient for geospatial planning and development of new coast protection scheme.

Onshore laser scanning of a beach surface of three coastal zone segments of the Kurortny District, St. Petersburg was carried out during the process of realisation of the CliPLivE project and coastal monitoring investigated by VSEGEI and “Mineral” company. One of the goals of the CliPLivE project was a prediction of coastal evolution by 2100 year based on retrospective analysis of the last century remote sensing data. The average annual range of coastal transformation was used for the mathematic modelling of beach profile changes. The model takes into account changes of sea level and possible increase of storm events occurrence. The onshore laser scanning was carried out each summer since 2012. After series of storms in 2015 the repeated scanning was carried out in December. It gave an opportunity to calculate volume and area of redeposited sand during the last storm that shows that a part or almost all sand material from eroded foredune was deposited in a middle part of the beach. This material forms an onshore sand bar in front of a new formed erosion escarpment. The comparison of the beach relief elevation models of 2012 and 2015 shows that another part of sand (up to 30-40% of volume of all mobilized beach sand) was washed out from the beach to offshore. The data of onshore laser scanning confirmed that the mathematical model of prediction coastal changes works.
