Abstract:
The present diploma thesis discusses the use of accompanying programmess as a resource for building audiences for theatres as well for some other types of culture institutions. Its aim is to present an overview of the current situation for developing this kind of activities in the Czech context, both from the perspective of the institutions involved, and from the perspective of culture politics. The introductory section of the present work defines the key notions of the issue of accompanying programmess, above all defining the accompanying programme itself and its relation to the main programme. The thesis extensively discusses strategic documents and cultural policies relevant both in terms of the European Union and the Czech Republic. This section forms the main part of the thesis, outlining as it does both political and legislative premises which can play a crucial role for the future orientation of cultural institutions in this area. Further on, I discuss the introduction of accompanying programmess into theatre practice in the form of the activity of theatre coach, and define target groups and forms of programming. Last but not least I also look at research studies that have been conducted in the field, regarding the conditions for audience development in Czech cultural institutions. The conclusion of my thesis presents a case study of the accompanying programmess at the National Theatre, Prague. This section focuses mainly on the activities of the Drama and Ballet ensembles, their different approaches to this issue, as well as their collaboration in the form of a joint platform ND+, which is intended in the future to be an umbrella for all the accompanying programmess of all of the National Theatre ensembles.

Abstract:
The Diploma thesis – Segmentation in the context of audience development – examines approaches towards deepening relationship between audience and cultural organizations based on usage of segmentation models. These models provide better understanding of audience’s needs and their reasons to participate in cultural activities. The theoretical background follows historical perspective of audience development and its tools, the connection between marketing and audience development, criteria and types of segmentation and also cultural particicpation factors, which influence audience’s behaviour and their decision making. In order to elaborate on this topic thoroughly, the British audience segmentation models created by the organisations Morris Hargreaves McIntyre, Arts Council England and The Audience Agency are analysed. Author’s own segmentation model is presented along with recommendations for audience development tools suitable for each segment. This model is based mainly on interviews with representatives of aforementioned British organizations and on data collected via questionnaires from audience participating in Theatre Night 2014 in the Czech Republic.

Styrenius, Jakob. "Organisationskultur ur två perspektiv : En jämförande studie av två etnografier ifrån socialantropologi och organisationsteori." Thesis, Linköping University, Department of Culture and Communication, 2009. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-16757.

Abstract:

This study aims to compare two ethnographies of organizational culture – one from the discipline of Social Anthropology and one from the discipline of Organizational Studies – considering their purpose, their method, and their concept of culture. Despite big similarities, or perhaps thanks to the similarities, some fundamental differences are made visible. The discipline of Organizational Studies has, compared to that of Social Anthropology, regarding the research method being used, less focus on, and less participation in, the informal social life of the organizational culture of the study. Regarding the concept of culture the Organizational Studies consider culture containing more of unity, stability and clear boundaries, compared to Social Anthropology. Further – the Organizational Studies has more focus on power and structure, while Social Anthropology has more focus on meaning and interpretation. Finally – the research purpose of studies in Organizational Studies is a bit more normative in its characteristic, than that of Social Anthropology. The study is concluded with a discussion of the future of Social Anthropology and its studies of organizational culture. An argumentation is conducted intended to get the two disciplines to learn from each other in the area of organizational culture, and also intended to show the discipline of Social Anthropology a road to relevant studies in the area of organizational culture.

Abstract:
This dissertation examines the role of material in six selected zines from subcultural, artistic and activist circles. The work deals with printed micro media with a small reach and is based on the concepts of alternative media, gives a brief overview of theoretical perspectives on zines from subcultural studies, through fan studies and participatory culture. The thesis is critical of the concepts and calls for the enrichment of existing perspectives, mostly consolidated in old (post- marxist) materialism: specifically, for a reflection on post-digital culture and new materialism, which allows us to reconsider the role of material in the production and distribution of zines. The case study combines personal interviews and content analysis with an emphasis on material and ethnography of the spaces where zines are formed and transmitted. Based on Bourdieu's field theory, the study conceptualises the zine scene as a field of zine production and seeks to radically contextualise the traffic between bodies, spaces, paper and other materials, machines, and finally capital (economic and subcultural). The theoretical apparatus allows to examine the changing role of zines in the post-digital age when information shifts from sowers to platforms of emotion and touch. The main argument of the thesis is that...

Abstract:
This Master degree thesis deals with content quality regulation and motivation to participate in the Scuk.cz project - web server dedicated to reviews of restaurants and other culinary venues. The server represents a specific case of user-generated content (UGC) whose content comes from closed community of reviewers chosen among non-professional food lovers by the server's founder. Aim of this thesis is to describe this filtration and regulation process as well as the qualitative criteria applied to reviewers and reviews, both from the point of view of administrators and community members. It uses the theory of reputation systems as well as Carpentier's more dynamic concept of quality as the ever-changing result of democratic negotiations (in the context of community media, as Scuk.cz can be to a certain extent). Motivations for participation are explained with Bourdieu's concepts of social and cultural capital and their later derivations. Empirical part of the study is based on qualitative interviews with administrators and 11 community members and following thematical analysis. Interview data are completed with analysis of texts - Scuk guidelines, reviews and other community communication. We found out that the first access filter plays a key role in content regulation, creating like- minded...
