Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån ett företagsperspektiv undersöka motiven till sponsring inom extremsporten. Vi har valt att göra en fallstudie på två företag, J. Lindeberg och Nike. Vi vill ta reda på varför företagen valt att satsa stora pengar inom just extremsporten. För att uppsatsen ska bli görbar har vi valt att avgränsa oss till att endast undersöka företagens sponsoraktiviteter inom extremskidåkning.
Denna uppsats behandlar marknadsföringsverktyget sponsring, för att uppnå syftet med undersökningen har vi valt att använda oss av Jiffer och Roos A-ERIC modell. Modellen kan användas som ett analys- och utvärderingsverktyg och som hjälp vid planering av sponsoraktiviteter. Vi använder modellen för att analysera de två fallföretagens arbete med sina sponsoraktiviteter. När arbetet analyserats har vi utgått från sex grundläggande motiv till sponsring som vi kommer att koppla till analysen för att slutligen nå en slutsats.
Genom intervjuer med insatta personer på området har vi fått en bra bild över hur företagen arbetar med sin sponsring inom extremsporten. Intervjupersonerna har varit Fredrik Stenberg från marknadsavdelningen på Nike samt Martin Willners chefredaktör på branschtidningen Sportfack. Genom att analysera uppgifter från intervjuerna har vi kunnat finna motiv till företagens sponsoraktiviteter på området. Vi har kunnat konstatera att J. Lindeberg arbetar på ett relativt traditionellt vis med sin sponsring inom extremsport, på så sätt har vi funnit många av deras viktigaste motiv utifrån vår teoretiska utgångspunkt. Nikes arbete skiljer sig ganska markant från J. Lindebergs, främst genom att man anpassar det mer efter karaktären på extremsportmarknaden. På grund av detta fanns de flesta väsentliga motiv för Nike utanför vår teoretiska grund.

Företag är i dagens tillvaro ständigt på jakt efter tillväxt och överlevnad. En metod för att lyckas med detta som har börjat ske mer och mer frekvent de senaste åren är att företag köper upp andra företag i form av ett företagsförvärv. Men forskning och litteratur har samtidigt pekat på att företagsförvärv i mer än 50 procent av fallen inte har hjälpt företag att nå fram till rena ekonomiska vinster. Trots detta har antalet företagsförvärv fortsatt att öka år efter år, och ökningen pågår än. Mycket forskning har tittat på en specifik aspekt av företagsförvärv, nämligen den kulturella aspekten. Forskare menar att kulturkrockar och andra problem med kulturen kan ha varit ett av problemen som påverkat och lett till den låga grad av framgång som har nåtts. Samtidigt finns det en bransch som har växt explosionsartat den senaste tiden, nämligen IT-branschen. Informationsteknik har utvecklats mycket i samband med det moderna samhällets tillväxt och det har nu till och med blivit en källa för rikedom som företag mer än gärna tar del av. Inom IT-branschen blir företagens kultur en viktig del att titta på, eftersom en dålig kultur kan få stora konsekvenser om den kunskapsrika personalen påverkas på ett negativt sätt. Denna studie avser därför att ta kännedom av hur svenska IT-företag som genomgått ett företagsförvärv förhåller sig till kulturen och kulturskillnader mellan företagen. I studien har integrationsprocessen undersökts genom intervjuer och skriftliga förfrågningar med åtta personer från sju olika företag inom IT-branschen. I uppsatsen har det också lagts fokus på företagens motiv bakom det gällande förvärvet. Dessutom har företagens årsredovisningar studerats. Resultatet visade att många av de förvärvande företagen absorberade det uppköpta företaget, med vilket menas att det förvärvade företagets arbetsprocess och kultur förändrades för att likna det nya moderbolagets. Undersökningen visade att de mest lyckade företagsförvärven hade ekonomiska motiv i grunden och att majoriteten av de med strategiska motiv ännu inte visat på någon framgång.Companies today are in constant pursuit of market growth and survival. One possible method to achieve this, M&A, has become more frequent over the years as more and more companies acquire one another. At the same time, researchers have been pointing to the fact that mergers and acquisitions have been failing more than 50 per cent of recorded cases. Despite this, the number of M&A has had a continuous growth that is still going on today. At the same time, the IT-sector has experienced significant growth over the last years. Information technology has developed alongside the modern society’s advancement and has become a source of income for the corporate world. The Swedish IT-sector has been through a number of M&A:s as of late, and with numerous scientists pointing out possible cultural difficulties that can occur during mergers and acquisitions, this area becomes interesting to study. This essay seeks to explore how Swedish knowledge based IT-companies work around these cultural differences between the companies. Eight interviews have been held with mainly CEO:s, discussing their view of the cultural integration between companies during the acquisitions. Questions have also been asked about their motives behind the decision to go through such an expensive affair. The result showed that while the majority of the interviewed companies had a strategic motive, they were not the most successful. Instead, it was the organizations with economic reasoning that generated the most financial success. The study also showed that the most frequent form of integration was absorption.

Den här studien är genomförd som en etnografisk undersökning av två visuella händelser i en förskolas ateljé under gemensamt bildskapande. Målet med undersökningen är att söka svar på vilka diskurser som finns i rörelse i ateljén samt vilka subjektspositioner dessa diskurser erbjuder de deltagande barnen. Barnens handlande och motivval har undersökts utifrån ett genusperspektiv och analysen av det empiriska materialet har genomförts med verktyg lånade från diskurspsykologin och med hjälp av socialkonstruktionistisk teoribildning. Som forskare väljer jag att i analysen av materialet byta subjektsposition, och talar om mig själv som den vuxna. Detta medför att också forskarens subjektspositioner delvis blir synliga. I resultatet visar det sig bland annat att det finns tre samtidigt pågående diskurser i ateljén och att dessa erbjuder såväl låsta som öppna subjektspositioner för barnen. Resultatet visar också att förskolan i denna undersökning är mer öppen för genusöverskridande byten av subjektspositioner än för utmaningar av den vuxnas auktoritet. Barnens motivval och handlingar överensstämmer inte riktigt med de mönster som presenteras under rubriken tidigare forskning, vilket i sig är ett av de intressanta resultat som detta arbete presenterar.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the primary motivation for studying abroad among students at Södertörn University, and also examine how the time studying abroad will affect the students on a personal level. The essay is based on a qualitative approach of ten interviews with students who have already completed an exchange program. With the help of the theoretical concepts of push and pull factors, motivation categories, human capital and previous research, the results and analysis showed a coherent pattern. It turns out that the majorities of students are primarily motivated by the opportunity to enjoy a nice nature, new environment and get to know new people. The time studying abroad mostly contributed to the student’s personal development and also gave an understanding of other people and different cultures. Therefore it became clear that it was only a couple of students that based their choice of studying abroad on motivation grounded in wanting to learn something, in terms of knowledge, which also had an accordance with the few students who indicated that they had gained knowledge-related experiences. Hence there appeared an unexpected social perspective, of which the motives are placed in a vast opportunity to participate in a unique experience, in a new country with new people and where experiences in form of personal development took place.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka primära motiv för utlandsstudier bland studenter på Södertörns högskola samt hur studietiden utomlands påverkar studenterna på ett personligt plan. Uppsatsen grundar sig i en kvalitativ ansats av tio intervjuer med studenter som redan har genomfört en utlandsstudie. Med hjälp av de teoretiska begreppen push samt pull faktorer, motivationskategorier, humankapital och även tidigare forskning visar resultat och analys ett sammanhängande mönster. Det visar sig att majoriteten av studenterna främst har motiverats av möjligheten att få uppleva en fin natur, ny miljö och lära känna nya människor. Studietiden utomlands påverkade främst studenternas personliga utveckling och gav en förståelse för andra människor och nya kulturer. Det var endast ett par studenter som framförde kunskapsmässiga motiv för utlandsstudier och kunskapsmässiga erfarenheter som resultat av utlandsstudierna. Därav framträdde ett oväntat socialt perspektiv, vars motiv och effekter är placerade i en övervägande möjlighet att delta i en unik upplevelse i ett nytt land med nya människor, där erfarenheter i form av personlig utveckling blivit aktuellt.

Att ha en ansvarsroll och jobba på en studentnation är att göra mycket arbete för en liten monetär ersättning. Trots den nästintill icke-existerande lönen väljer studenter att arbeta och engagera sig på studentnationen. Men i frånvaro av en ekonomisk ersättning, hur motiverar studenterna sitt arbete? Man kan likna arbetet på studentnationen med volontärarbetet inom hjälporganisationer, men då omtalas arbetet som något som man gör för att stärka sin egen självkänsla bland annat. Detta är ett resonemang vilket skiljer sig från hur man kan se på arbetet på studentnationer, då dessa varken är hjälporganisationer, eller ter sig servera någon annan specifik nytta än i studiesociala sammanhang för studenter. Utöver forskning om volontärarbete finns det inte mycket tidigare forskning som kan kopplas till ämnet, om studentnationer, arbetet på dem, och motivationen som driver studenterna till detta engagemang. Frågeställningen som därmed grundar studien är: Hur legitimerar de arbetande studenterna sitt arbete inom studentnationen? Den metod som studien baseras på är kvalitativa intervjuer, vilka är semi-strukturerade till formen. Genom intervjuer önskas nå hur respondenten berättar om motiv till sitt engagemang. Intervjuerna är fem till antalet och uppåt 45 minuter långa. De baserades på en förkonstruerad intervjuguide. Det teoretiska ramverk som denna studie bygger på är Ann Swidlers teori om kultur och hur detta kan vara influerande i de handlingsstrategier individer konstruerar för att motivera sina handlingar. Swidler menar på att man som individ har en viss uppsättning verktyg i sin verktygslåda, en viss kulturell kapacitet vilken man kan använda sig av i navigerandet i olika situationer. Teorin används för att förklara de resurser informanterna använder för att motivera sitt engagemang på ett visst sätt och ger svar på varför de legitimerar sitt engagemang så som de gör. Resultatet av studen visar på hur studenterna motiverar sitt arbete genom att använda sig av legitimeringsstrategier. Strategierna är liknande mellan samtliga informantern och man finner även liknelser angående inom vilken situation de använder vilken specifik legitimeringsstrategi. Det ter sig som att det inom den subkultur som studentlivet kan te sig vara så erhåller man som deltagare en ny uppsättning verktyg till sin verktygslåda och förändrar och lär sig nya värderingar vilka ter sig mer viktiga inom kulturen man nu befinner sig i. De framkomna resultaten kan vidare bidra som komplement till den tidigare forskning som finns om bland annat volontärarbete som inte sker som en form av hjälparbete, exempelvis volontärarbete på festivaler eller diverse intresseföreningar. 1. Nustatyta, kad mergaites ir berniukus stipriausiai motyvuoja tokie vidinio pasitenkinimo veiksniai kaip: gebėjimas padaryti tai, ko anksčiau nemokėjo, sėkmė ir užtikrintumas pamokų metu, gebėjimas užsiimti naujomis veiklomis, galimybė rungtyniauti ir išbandyti save, pastangos pamokų metu.

The volume of mergers and acquisitions in 2014 amounted to 3.6 trillion USD. Acquisition activity over the previous year increased by 26 % and the volume of mergers and acquisitions was the third highest in history after 2007 and 2006. The constantly increasing number of mergers and acquisitions and an increase in the volume of capital required for the realization of transactions stand in stark contrast to the high rate of failure. The primary motive for international mergers and acquisitions is the realization of synergies. The paper analyzes in detail the factors that influence the success of international mergers and acquisitions, especially strategic fit, cultural fit and integration. It also analyzes the motives which lead to realization of those transactions and how they relate to the realization of synergies. The results of previous studies are presented in the theoretical part, practical part is focused on a specific acquisition of Anheuser-Busch, which is part of the global brewing group Anheuser-Busch InBev, which in 2014 bought a small Czech brewery - Pivovar Samson.

Die Entwicklungsschübe der modernen Medien im 20. Jahrhundert haben die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen den Künsten, den Medien, den Sinnesmodalitäten, den verbalen und nonverbalen Ausdrucks- und Zeichenprozessen verstärkt und erweitert. Im Zuge dieser Entwicklungen sind Genre- und Formatfragen über das disziplinäre Interesse einzelner Kunst- und Medienwissenschaften hinaus ins Aufmerksamkeitsfeld einer vergleichenden Medienästhetik und -dramaturgie ge-rückt.
Aufbauend auf den Erkenntnissen von Kalisch 2014, 2016 und den Überlegungen Gaudreaults 2009 zu einer Unterscheidung zwischen Narration und Monstration, ist es gelungen ein Modell zur Analyse von Werken unter dem Ausgangspunkt von Dramaturgie und Präsentationsstruktur herauszubilden, das für jedwedes dramaturgisch motiviertes und fiktionales Werk verwendet werden kann, unab-hängig vom Medium. Als Mittel zur Verdeutlichung der Thesen wird Horror als ästhetische Kategorie definiert, die einen direkten Einfluss auf die narrativen Strukturen eines Werkes besitzt, was den narrativ-monstrativen Doppelcharakter von Werken belegt und ferner verdeutlicht, dass Erzählung und Formung eines Werkes untrennbar verbunden sind. Die Dualität von Dramaturgie und Präsenta-tionsstruktur wird in der Formung eines Werkes offenbar. Um dies zu verdeutli-chen, werden im Verlauf der Arbeit kursorisch Beispiele von Werken mit Schre-ckensinhalten diskutiert und analysiert.
Basierend auf diesem Modell wird eine Diskussion des Themenkomplexes von Intermedialität und Transmedialität im Spannungsverhältnis zur Komparistik der Künste durchgeführt. In der Folge wird eine Ästhetik des Schreckens diskutiert und anhand von ästhetischen Wertungskategorien aufgezeigt. Abschließend werden drei narrativ-motivierte Konzeptionen für dramaturgisch angetriebene Schre-ckensinszenierungen aufgeführt, die zur Kategorisierung von Werken angewendet werden können: düstere Präfiguration, düstere Konfiguration und düstere Manifestation.The development in modern media during the 20th century (from movies over television to the hybrid forms of audiovisual and textual media in the internet) reveals interdependencies between art, media, the modalities of senses, the verbal and nonverbal dictions and semiotic processes that have evolved and expanded themselfes. According to this progress the interest in art and media studies should achive a collective interest in the changes of genre and formats, instead of a sepa-rated observation of only single disciplines. Following the Prolegomena on a comperative drama of media by Eleonore Ka-lisch (Kalisch 2014) and the thougts of André Gaudreault on Narration and Mon-stration (Gaudreault 2009) this thesis bulids a system to analyse works of fiction (e. g. movies, pictures, literature, video games). This system allows to analyse and compare works of fiction based on drama and presentation structure. The horror genre is used to show the mechanics of this system. Horror has a direct influence on the narrative structure of a work and manifests a duality of narration and mon-stration (Kalisch 2016), that binds drama and presentation to each other and shows the necessity of a separated consideration on both aspects. The duality of drama and presentation reveals itself during the modeling of a work of fiction. Build on the system the discourse is open to discuss intermetiality and transmedi-ality and their influence on the field of interest. Furthermore, an aesthetic of hor-ror is defined by evaluation categories of aesthetic indicators. In the end three types of narrativ driven concepts of horror are revealed and discussed: gloomy pre-figuaration, gloomy configuration and gloomy manifestation.

This MA thesis is focused on discovering the literary motif of journey in selected works defined by Australia. These works also share the interest in shaping Australian identity. A socio-historical background of colonisation and the first settlement in Australia is provided and the key terms of cultural anthropology are further elaborated on. The thesis depicts traditional Aboriginal culture and focuses especially on its earthbound philosophy. Special attention is paid to the differences among various literary approaches towards the subject matter, to the application of cultural anthropology findings, to the depiction of clashes between different cultures and possibilities of their reconciliation. Furthermore, the works of selected authors are closely characterised from the point of view of their degree of authenticity and the genre specifics. The original text is the German one, which is consequently compared to the Czech one. The thesis deals with the fairy tales Die weiße Schlange (compared to Karel Jaromír Erben's fairy tale Zlatovláska) and Frau Holle (compared to the text written by Božena Němcová O dvanácti měsíčkách). The goal of the thesis is to ascertain to what extent the depiction of the chosen motifs differ in German and Czech variants, or to what extent they correspond. The used methods are comparison, analogy and analysis, followed by synthesis of discovered knowledge.

Purpose of my thesis is create a precise register of inversion in chante-fable from XIIIth century: Aucassin et Nicolette. Main point of view is connected with a converse of woman and man part. This noticeable destabilization brings an inversion of further rules defined by literary discourse of medieval literature, above all by courtly culture. The first part included a basic definitions of misogyny, courtly love, chivarly and carnival principle. Following analysis of Aucassin et Nicolette indicates medieval need to show aberrations from social order and tries to find way to cure that "illness" of age.

Diploma thesis Motifs of pre-Columbian America in modern Mexican art deals with the pre- Columbian motifs in the work of three leading representatives of the Mexican muralism - Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Muralism, monumental painting with a clearly defined socio-educational function, started to develop on the initiative of the post- revolutionary Mexican government, since the 1920s of the 20th century. During its development, it gained international fame and today it is widely regarded as a uniquely Mexican style of art. An integral part of muralism form scenes from the life of pre-Columbian cultures. The main objective of this work is to analyse these scenes, the origin of particular motifs, their original meanings and meanings, which they assumed in the context of the murals. The work also reflects where muralists acquired knowledge about the Indian civilizations and what image of pre-Columbian past they created. The work also seeks to clarify the question in what specifically was the muralist access to pre-Columbian cultures innovative. The paper uses qualitative methods of analysis of the available written sources and analysis of visual materials.

Tereza Valášková DEPARTMENT Department of German Studies SUPERVISOR PhDr. Tamara Bučková, Ph.D ABSTRACT This master thesis deals with the motifs of Sorbian Lusatia in the selected modern fairy-tales in contemporary children's and young adult literature. The problem is explained on the basis of fifteen books by eight Sorbian writers and one German writer. The motifs of Sorbian Lusatia are sought in the Sorbian cultural history, mythology and folklore. This master thesis wants to prove, if motifs of Sorbian Lusatia are used in contemporary children's and young adult literature of the selected authors in the genre of modern fairy-tale. It demonstrates that the issues associated with the culture of this West Slavic minority are in contemporary, especially in Sorbian, but also German literature, a popular source of multicultural enrichment in Europe, which is threatened by monoculture. The methods include especially motif analysis, verification or falsification of the hypothesis, then interpretation and comparison. Václav Žůrek Comparison of the Use of Historical Motives in the Monarchical Legitimacy in Kingdoms of France and Bohemia in the Late Middle Ages Abstract Concepts of the past are most important parts in the formation of individual and collective identity. Medieval authors deliberately used the historical narratives as a means of enhancing the cohesion of respective social groups, usually the ruling strata of society. The doctoral thesis focuses on re-interpretations and exploitations of the past in France and Bohemia during the 14th century, on the role of historical narratives in the self-representation of the ruling dynasties Luxembourg and Valois, and on the perception of their own role in the history. Main question of the thesis is the social and literary context of the shaping of an imagination of the past: detailed comparison between the Latin and vernacular historiographical production at the royal courts in France and Bohemia bring also crucial observations as to the ways and means of cultural transfer between the respective centres of power.

The thesis "Biblical motifs in Czech pop music of the 1960s and the 1970s of the twentieth century: The function and using of biblical motifs for pop music lyrics with the original biblical background and message" introduces the academic framework of the topic within the first chapter: the definition of the terms, the criteria and method for selecting the motifs and lyrics used. Then, the position of Czech pop music in the cultural and political context of the period is explained, which is a relevant part of the topic itself. Also an outline of the academic reflection of the related topic is referred to as well as the function of biblical motifs in other styles of music (rock, folk and underground music) with the emphasis on the projection of the stylistic differences into using these topics for the lyrics. This master thesis is focused on problematics of biblical themes in works of the Jewish artists on the territory of The Russian Empire at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. The introduction of the work deals with socio-political and cultural conditions of the Jewish community, which lived in the pre-revolutionary Imperial Russia. The following part, on the basis of archive materials, remained daily press, periodic press and memoirs, presents two important cultural centres: Jewish Societies for the Encouragement of Arts in Saint-Petersburg and in Moscow, notably their significant support for development of the Jewish arts in Russian culture of that time. Vietnam went through diverse historical development that contributed to the diversity of today's culture and specific craft industry. Vietnamese culture was mostly influenced by China, where we can probably find the origin of folk prints production. Two famous folk prints production workshops gradually developed in northern Vietnam, but many other smaller centers can be found throughout Vietnam. The diversity of folk motives illustrates the richness of traditional vietnamese folk culture. Vietnamese collection from Náprstek Museum started without any approach of systematic collecting, mainly from purchases or gifts of travelers or professionals who reside or traveled to Vietnam for work or research purposes. Within approximately past fifty years collection of vietnamese folk prints has become the most comprehensive part of asian collections from Náprstek Museum.

Its goal is to describe part played by books in formation of character, life and work of this eminent personality of Czech culture and social impact of his work. An important part of this work is the reconstruction of contents of Jan Werich's personal library. The thesis is based on analysis of Werich's literary work, analysis of collection of personal documents in Literary archive of The Museum of Czech Literature, study of documents in the archive of Theatre ABC and Prague City Archives. It is also based on testimonies of some close Werich's friends and on reader's survey "The books of Jan Werich". First chapter is concerned with Jan Werich's personal library. It describes the search for destiny of this library, on its probable current situation and on various sources for the reconstruction of its contents. It also contains information on Werich's work with a book, mostly on lending and borrowing books and on property marking of documents.
