Abstract:
The knowledge of an employee is an important resource for the organisation and it is very vital for companies that employees share their knowledge. Knowledge sharing cannot happen easily, as it is an individual choice and cannot be forced. Previous studies have shown that organisational trust is a backbone of knowledge sharing behaviour (KSB). In this study, the new conceptual framework proposes drawing the relationship between factors that are influencing organisational trust and testing the relationships between organisational trust and KSB. This framework classified the most significant factors that influence KSB, both directly and indirectly, through an organisational trust. The research model of this study is built from an extensive review on the literature of knowledge management (KM), organisational behaviour, sociology, phycology, trust, and management studies. Since there are very few in-depth studies specifically on trust and KSB, research on trust from an organisational perspective was consulted. This study provides methodological contributions in the form of conceptualisations for organisational trust and KSB; in addition, it provides extra emphasis in details, by identifying the dimensions of KSB and organisational trust.

Abstract:
This study investigates the over- and under-reacting behavior of USD/KRW OTC currency option investors from the year of 2006 to 2011. Using the empirical testing models suggested by Poteshman (2001), we first find that USD/KRW OTC option investors tend to under-react to the unexpected changes in instantaneous variances, which means ‘short horizon under-reaction’. Second, we find that USD/KRW OTC option market tends to slightly over-react to a long period of mostly positive (or negative) unexpected changes in instantaneous variances during the period of before global financial crisis in 2008, We find, however, that this ‘long horizon over-reaction’ in the aforementioned period is not statistically significant. Third, we find that the market tends to significantly under-react, rather than over-react, to a long period of mostly positive (or negative) unexpected changes in instantaneous variances during the period of after global financial crisis in 2008. Finally, using the different empirical testing model (i.e., model-free approach), suggested by Jiang and Tian (2010), we also obtained the same empirical results, which strengthen the robustness of them.

Abstract:
Environmental cracking (EC) susceptibility of low-alloy steels with a specified minimum yield strength of 655 MPa (95 ksi) and 758 MPa (110 ksi) manufactured by quenching and tempering heat treatments was investigated in high H2S partial pressures (more than 1.0 MPa) using four-point bend tests in autoclaves. The H2S partial pressures and testing temperatures varied from 1.0 MPa to 10 MPa and 24°C to 150°C, respectively. Materials of grades 95 ksi and 110 ksi containing high Cr and Mo showed no macrocracking under all tested conditions. Localized corrosion occurred at several locations after exposure for 1 month under high H2S pressure and high-temperature conditions. It was concluded that the localized corrosion did not form macrocracking even after long-term (3 months) immersion tests. On the other hand, 110 ksi grade material containing low Cr and Mo suffered from sulfide stress cracking at low temperatures (below 66°C) and at an H2S pressure of 1.0 MPa. The material also showed EC at an H2S pressure of 10 MPa and temperature from 107°C to 150°C. The difference of EC susceptibility among the materials is discussed based on corrosion reactions, hydrogen absorption, and morphologies of the corrosion products on the steel surface.

Abstract:
Purpose Intrapreneurship is rapidly concerning organizations to tailor their operations and strategies for competitive advantage. Research on intrapreneurial dimensions is in the developing stage, requiring more rigorous methods of investigation and application in various contexts. This study aims to focus on individual level intrapreneurship by examining the association of personality traits (PTs) on intrapreneurial behaviour (IB) moderated by knowledge sharing behaviour (KSB) and comparison of employees in engineering and functional departments. Design/methodology/approach A survey has been conducted for data collection using a structured questionnaire. Partial least squares structural equation modelling has been used for hypotheses testing, moderation and multi-group analysis on a sample of 534 respondents. Findings Results reveal that PTs exerted a positive influence on IB. The impact of PTs on IB was more pronounced in the employees of functional departments. KSB moderates positively in the relationship between PTs and IB. Both groups significantly differ in dimensions of PTs. Practical implications Organizations can do little to improve PTs of employees, which impacts on intrapreneurship in organizations. However, KSB in organizations can be improved by adopting various measures. KSB eventually promotes innovation in organizations resulting in an overall competitive advantage for firms. Originality/value This is the first study that contributes theoretically in intrapreneurship literature by providing insights on PTs impacting IB incorporating KSB and comparing the diverse group of employees.

Abstract:
We are analyzing the various measures of liquidity of Karachi Stock Exchange Market on the basis of microstructure theory. The concept of microstructure is focusing on the difference between the supply price and demand price of securities in any market. In other words, the price formation of the bid-ask spread is based on the supply and demand prices. Empirical studies conducted by different researchers have made a lot of contribution in this regards. As they concluded that bid-ask spread is constituted on the basis of different theories of liquidity. Historical background of microstructure literature shows that bid–ask spread constitutes the fundamental measure of the liquidity in any market. As a result of this it contributes to identify the best structure of stock market. There may be other admitted measures of liquidity. In the opinion of different researchers the internationally accepted measures of liquidity formation in any market include the Lambda, Turnover of the concerned security, Depth of that market, The Cost of Trip, Trade of security, etc. And they work as strong indicators of liquidity. Our study is a contribution to the literature as we try to explore those correlated variables that can be significantly and sequentially change. And they are serving a measure of the individual’s securities that are already traded in Karachi Stock Exchange Market. These admitted variables of our study are trading volumes of securities, number of transactions in the market, security return, volatility of securities prices, arrival of new information etc. we take a sample of 350 quoted securities in Karachi Stock Exchange Market, from 1990-2015. As far as result is concerned, depth showed a negative correlation with all spread measures in the Karachi Stock Exchange Market. But at the same time, perfect positive correlations are shown between spread measures in the analysis. It is a perfect proof of existence and validity of these liquidity measures in KSE. The results is evidencing that the arrival of new information, return on investment, volume of traded securities; are contributing a lot to explain significantly the sequential changes in KSE. At the same time various measures of the securities regarding liquidity are proving and confirming the previous researcher’s claim. In the end, analysts are in a better position to explain that the arrival of new information from different sources and different groups is functioning as a principal aspect for the variant contributories of liquidness of the Karachi Stock Exchange.

Abstract:
The use of both recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete aggregates is increasing considerably in pavement construction. These materials are relatively weak and have to be stabilized with cement or other stabilizers. However, because of product variability and lack of strength and stiffness, their applicability has to be evaluated extensively. Traditionally practiced methods of evaluation might be unreasonable in terms of time, cost, reliability, and applicability. Rapid nondestructive methods, such as the spectral analysis of surface wave, impact echo, pulse velocity, and so forth, have the potential to be inexpensive and less time-consuming, as well as offering low variability of the test results. The objective of the study was to assess the potential applicability of the impact echo method in evaluating recycled pavement base materials. Six combinations (0%–100%, 10%–90%, 30%–70%, 50%–50%, 70%–30%, and 100%–0%) of recycled asphalt pavement and recycled concrete aggregates, respectively, treated by four amounts of portland cement (0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%), were evaluated by impact echo, unconfined compression, and repeated-load triaxial test. From the test results, the range of P-wave velocity was between 5,500 in./s and 18,000 in./s, the compressive strength varied from 10 pounds per square inch (psi) and 415 psi, and the tangent modulus range was from 2.8 kips per square inch (ksi) to 41 ksi. Statistical models based on P-wave velocity data were derived for predicting elastic modulus, compressive strength, and resilient modulus. It was found that impact echo has significant potential in characterizing the strength and stiffness properties of cement-treated recycled base materials, which confirms the effectiveness of recycled materials in pavement applications.

Abstract:
Background The peste-des-petits-ruminants virus (PPRV) is a highly devastating virus of small ruminants in many parts of the world, including the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, our objectives were (1) to conduct a molecular prevalence study of PPRV in sheep and goat across the KSA and (2) to isolate and identify currently circulating PPRV lineages. Swabs and tissue specimens were collected from 97 herds suspected to be infected with PPRV across the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Testing for the presence of the virus was done by the real-time PCR. Confirmation of the identity of the reactions was done by the gel-based-PCR then by sequencing of the partial PPRV genome. Results Our results revealed that 24.1% of the tested specimens were PPRV-positive. Isolation of PPRV was successful from samples using the Vero cell line. Sequence analysis of some partial PPRV genes (N, F, M, L, P, and H) revealed that these strains were belonging to lineage IV of the PPRV. Conclusions This is the first study to conduct both the nationwide prevalence, isolation, and molecular characterizations of the PPRV in the KSA. Continuous surveillance and monitoring of the circulating strains of PPRV among sheep and goats will contribute substantially to the global eradication campaign of such a virus.

Abstract:
The number of bicycle riders in New York City (NYC) has been increasing steadily in the past few years. These numbers include private and shared bicycles. The NYC bicycle network has been expanded to accommodate the needs of the increasing number of riders. Although the new infrastructure has reduced the number of cyclists killed or seriously injured (KSI) in some areas, in other areas similar improvements were not observed. A data-driven approach to study the possible effects of this type of infrastructure inconsistency on the variation of the number of bicycle crashes from one region to another in the city is the primary motivation of this paper. A highly portable and inexpensive sensing device for measuring the distance between a bicycle and lateral objects is designed and developed from scratch. The developed mobile sensing device can also map bicycle trajectories to highlight critical segments where the safe distance from passing vehicles is not respected. This mobile device is powered by a portable power source and it is comprised of two ultrasonic sensors, a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, and a real-time clock (RTC). The sensor is secured inside a custom design 3D printed case. The case can be easily attached to any bicycle including shared bikes for testing. The final prototype is entirely functional and used to collect sample data to demonstrate its effectiveness to address safety-related problems mentioned above. Finally, a dashboard is created to display collected key information. This key information can be used by researches and agencies for a better understanding of the factors contributing to the safety of bicycle routes.

Abstract:
This paper investigates the efficiency of the Karachi stock exchange (KSE) with corrections for thin trading and non-linearity as suggested by Miller, Muthuswamy and Whaley (1994). Daily, weekly, and monthly data on stock prices from December 1991 to May 2003 have been used, with three non-overlapping periods (December 1991 to May 1998; May 1998 to September 2001; and September 2001 to May 2003) and one combined period (May 1998 to May 2003). The results indicate that the Karachi Stock Market is efficient for the overall period, the three sub-periods, and the combined period in linear and non-linear behavior after making adjustments for thin trading. The same result is observed when the efficiency test is conducted on weekly and monthly data after adjusting for thin trading during the overall study period.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT A census of clean room surface-associated bacterial populations was derived from the results of both the cloning and sequencing of 16S rRNA genes and DNA microarray (PhyloChip) analyses. Samples from the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Multiple Testing Facility (LMA-MTF), the Kennedy Space Center Payload Hazard and Servicing Facility (KSC-PHSF), and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Spacecraft Assembly Facility (JPL-SAF) clean rooms were collected during the various assembly phases of the Phoenix and Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) spacecraft. Clone library-derived analyses detected a larger bacterial diversity prior to the arrival of spacecraft hardware in these clean room facilities. PhyloChip results were in agreement with this trend but also unveiled the presence of anywhere from 9- to 70-fold more bacterial taxa than cloning approaches. Among the facilities sampled, the JPL-SAF (MSL mission) housed a significantly less diverse bacterial population than either the LMA-MTF or KSC-PHSF (Phoenix mission). Bacterial taxa known to thrive in arid conditions were frequently detected in MSL-associated JPL-SAF samples, whereas proteobacterial lineages dominated Phoenix-associated KSC-PHSF samples. Comprehensive bacterial censuses, such as that reported here, will help space-faring nations preemptively identify contaminant biomatter that may compromise extraterrestrial life detection experiments. The robust nature and high sensitivity of DNA microarray technologies should prove beneficial to a wide range of scientific, electronic, homeland security, medical, and pharmaceutical applications and to any other ventures with a vested interest in monitoring and controlling contamination in exceptionally clean environments.

Abstract:
The United States Air Force’s 45th Weather Squadron provides wind warnings, including those for downbursts, at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Kennedy Space Center (CCAFS/KSC). This study aims to provide a Random Forest model that classifies thunderstorms’ downburst and null events using a 35-knot wind threshold to separate these two categories. The downburst occurrence was assessed using a dense network of wind observations around CCAFS/KSC. Eight dual-polarization radar signatures that are hypothesized to have physical implications for downbursts at the surface were automatically calculated for 209 storms and ingested into the Random Forest model. The Random Forest model predicted null events more correctly than downburst events, with a True Skill Statistic of 0.40. Strong downburst events were better classified than those with weaker wind magnitudes. The most important radar signatures were found to be the maximum vertically integrated ice and the peak reflectivity. The Random Forest model presented a more reliable performance than an automated prediction method based on thresholds of single radar signatures. Based on these results, the Random Forest method is suggested for continued operational development and testing.

Abstract:
Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is a special concrete mixture with outstanding mechanical and durability characteristics. It is a mixture of portland cement, supplementary cementitious materials, sand, and high-strength, high-aspect-ratio microfibers. In this paper, the authors propose flexural design guidelines for precast, prestressed concrete members made with concrete mixtures developed by precasters to meet minimum specific characteristics qualifying it to be called PCI-UHPC. Minimum specified cylinder strength is 10 ksi (69 MPa) at prestress release and 18 ksi (124 MPa) at the time the member is placed in service, typically 28 days. Minimum flexural cracking and tensile strengths of 1.5 and 2 ksi (10 and 14 MPa), respectively, according to ASTM C1609 testing specifications are required. In addition, strain-hardening and ductility requirements are specified. Tensile properties are shown to be more important for structural optimization than cylinder strength. Both building and bridge products are considered because the paper is focused on capacity rather than demand. Both service limit state and strength limit state are covered. When the contribution of fibers to capacity should be included and when they may be ignored is shown. It is further shown that the traditional equivalent rectangular stress block in compression can still be used to produce satisfactory results in prestressed concrete members. Abstract:
Mobbing has been recognized as a psychosocial risk to the mental health of employees, but also as an organizational problem that has been the object of attention among scholars in sociological, psychological, medical, and criminologist sciences. This study is the preparatory phase of the implementation of The Negative Acts Questionnaire-Revised (NAQ-R, Einarsen, Hoel and Notelaers, 2009)which tests for exposure to harassment in the workplace. The main aim of the study was to determine whether the instruments are applicable to the sample of Croatian employees, by means of testing the factor structure and internal reliability of the said questionnaire. The sample encompassed 209 police officers of both genders in the Split-Dalmatia Police District, and the data were acquired by means of a survey. We used descriptive statistics to show the characteristics of the sample and to analyse the findings, and we tested the factor structure by utilizing principal factor analysis, relying on the Kaiser-Guttman criterion. We tested the internal reliability of the sample with the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The results suggest that there is a two-factor structure in the questionnaire, with the first factor referring to harassment aimed at the employee’s personality, and the second factor referring to harassment that is aimed at the employee’s work. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient shows a high level of reliability (α = 0.959).

The 110 Ksi tubing failed in use when reservoir acidification reconstruction and production testing were performed in an oil well, which were longitudinal cracking of coupling. Failure analysis was conducted on the coupling. The failure zone was studied by means of macroscopic analysis, metallographic, scanning electronic microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer and X-ray diffraction analysis etc. The results indicated that the failure of the coupling is caused by stress corrosion cracking (SCC). SCC initiated from the exterior surface of coupling and displayed the fracture feature of intergranular crack propagation. The corrosion products at the grain boundaries were found to be mainly some oxides. The failure was in connection with the completion fluid composition, which are mainly nitrates.

ObjectiveSmall prospective studies have identified that children exposed to valproate in utero have poorer scores on cognitive testing. We wanted to identify whether children exposed to antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) in utero have poorer school performance.MethodsWe used anonymised, linked, routinely collected healthcare records to identify children born to mothers with epilepsy. We linked these children to their national attainment Key Stage 1 (KS1) tests in mathematics, language and science at the age of 7 and compared them with matched children born to mothers without epilepsy, and with the national KS1 results. We used the core subject indicator (CSI) as an outcome measure (the proportion of children achieving a minimum standard in all subjects) and the results in individual subjects.ResultsWe identified 440 children born to mothers with epilepsy with available KS1 results. Compared with a matched control group, fewer children with mothers being prescribed sodium valproate during pregnancy achieved the national minimum standard in CSI (−12.7% less than the control group), mathematics (−12.1%), language (−10.4%) and in science (−12.2%). Even fewer children with mothers being prescribed multiple AEDs during pregnancy achieved a national minimum standard: CSI (by −20.7% less than the control group), mathematics (−21.9%), language (−19.3%) and science (−19.4%). We did not observe any significant difference in children whose mothers were prescribed carbamazepine or were not taking an AED when compared with the control group.ConclusionsIn utero exposure to AEDs in combination, or sodium valproate alone, is associated with a significant decrease in attainment in national educational tests for 7-year-old children compared with both a matched control group and the all-Wales national average. These results give further support to the cognitive and developmental effects of in utero exposure to sodium valproate as well as multiple AEDs, which should be balanced against the need for effective seizure control for women during pregnancy.

Abstract:
Arabic is the most widely spoken Semitic language and has seen phases of change from the Quranic form to the more popular Modern Standard Arabic that is used for communication today. Teachers of language and translation in KSA are concerned with learning problems that arise due to lexical and grammatical non-equivalence between Arabic and English which often leads to confusion and incorrect output during translation process. The current study aimed at investigating one of the Arabic grammatical structures which has no direct equivalent in English (Accusative of Purpose). It is an original noun derived from a verb of affectivity, explaining the reason why the action of the previous verb has been done. Two objectives were targeted: One, testing the learners’ ability to translate the Accusative of Purpose; and two, to gather an understanding of the strategies they adopted in the process. The study is likely to be of great value in a foreign language learning environment as is the case in the KSA. We used written tests to collect the data, followed by detailed interviews to elicit information on the translation strategies used. Participants were female undergraduate students (N=35) at Hurimilla College of Science and Humanities, Shaqra University, KSA, of which fifteen were randomly interviewed consequently. Both qualitative and quantative approaches were used. The data collected was analysed using SPSSR. The results revealed that (36.0%) of the students’ translations were correct or acceptable, while 34.3% were literal, and (15.4%) were incorrect. Personal interviews revealed that reasons of these results can be attributed to the absence of this category in English, and non-equivalence between Arabic and English. Based on these findings, the present study suggests more investigations on similar Arabic structures which have no correspondence in English using larger number of participants.

Abstract:
Helicobacter pylori is a micro-aerophilic, slow-growing, Gram-negative spiral bacterium that colonizes the mucous lining of the human stomach. Infection with this bacterium has been identified as a cause of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. Globally, the prevalence of H. pylori-related infection is high compared to any other infectious diseases, and the rate of prevalence much higher in developing countries than in developed nations. This review article aims to describe the trend of H. pylori-related works in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the use of various laboratory tests for the diagnosis of H. pylori-related infections in adults and children. Therefore, published literature was referenced in the explanation and discussion of the different methods used to diagnose H. pylori-related disease, including papers published in the KSA and other Middle Eastern countries. The PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?cmd=search) search engine was used extensively. Culture and histopathology tests have been employed widely to detect this pathogen at the early stage. However, over the years, an array of tests including the rapid urease test, serology, the urea breath test, the fecal antigen test, and molecular testing have been developed to diagnose and better manage H. pylori-associated diseases since the discovery of this novel pathogen.

During the 2005-2018 period, within the scope of MSB-1 and MSB-2, seeds and herbarium samples of more than 1750 plant species and interspecific taxa, belonging to 107 families and 483 genera (more than 41% of Georgia’s flora) – 348 endemics of Caucasus and 151 endemics of Georgia, have been secured in the National Seed Bank of Georgia (NSB). Seed Bank data are managed in BRAHMS (Department of Plant Sciences of Oxford University). The collection of wild plant species is accompanied by the comprehensive database of geographical, botanical and habitat information. Later phase involves laboratory treatment and germination/viability testing (at least 500 seeds per species) and the long-term deposition and storage (under -20◦C temperature) at the National Seed Bank of Georgia. The duplicates of seed collection and herbarium vouchers are stored at the Millennium Seed Bank of Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, UK. Germination capacity and viability of collections in NSB is determined before cold storage of seeds, while at the MSB already banked seeds are tested. Keywords: Seed bank; Ex-situ conservation; Plant diversity; Botanical garden; Genetic resources

Abstract:
Previous studies on capital structure in Pakistan have reported evidence in support of the pecking order theory. However, this evidence is largely based on testing one dimensional relationship between leverage ratios and firms’ profitability. The objective of this paper is to extensively test the pecking order theory in Pakistan with well-known pecking order testing models. Specifically, we use a sample of 321 firms listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange from 2000 to 2009 and test pecking order theory with models suggested by Shyam-Sunder and Myers, Frank and Goyal, Watson and Wilson, and Rajan and Zingales. Results of these models indicate that there exits only weak evidence in support of pecking order theory in Pakistan. However, strong support is found for pecking order theory when leverage ratios are regressed on profitability ratio, along with a set of control variables. This discrepancy in the results of the two sets of models needs further investigation, as well as care in interpreting the results of existing studies on capital structure in Pakistan. Our results show robustness even after controlling for possible profits understatements or weak corporate governance practices. Abstract:
Previous research provides qualitative evidence that an improved surface finish can increase the surface fatigue lives of gears. To quantify the influence of surface roughness on life, a set of AISI 9310 steel gears was provided with a near-mirror finish by superfinishing. The effects of the superfinishing on the quality of the gear tooth surfaces were determined using data from metrology, profilometry, and interferometric microscope inspections. The superfinishing reduced the roughness average by about a factor of 5. The superfinished gears were subjected to surface fatigue testing at 1.71 GPa (248-ksi) Hertz contact stress, and the data were compared with the NASA Glenn gear fatigue data base. The lives of gears with superfinished teeth were about four times greater compared with the lives of gears with ground teeth but with otherwise similar quality.

Bypass tests of Ø219×8mm 13KhFA, 08KhMFChA, 20-ksh (steel 20 corrosion resistant cold resistant) and Grade steel 20 piping spools were carried out on an oil-gathering line of one of the oilfields in the Stavropol region. Tubing condition was checked after 7, 15, 17 and 23 months of testing. After two years in service no change was found in mechanical properties of the base metal or weldments manufactured from 13KhFA and 08KhMFChA steels. It has been demonstrated that the formation of chromium-containing phase in corrosion products inhibits the penetration of chlorine ions from corrosive media to the surface of metal and thus reduces corrosion rates. Estimated, laboratory and comparison passivation coefficients have been proposed. These coefficients make it possible to predict the level of steel self-passivation with regard to operating conditions of particular oilfields.

Abstract:
This study examines the impact of the Khartoum Stock Exchange market performance on economic growth in Sudan from Q1 1995 to Q4 2018. The data were collected from the Central Bank of Sudan (CBS) and Khartoum Stock Exchange (KSE). The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds test was applied to estimate the impact of the Khartoum Stock Exchange market performance on economic growth. The results show that the Khartoum Stock Exchange market performance has a limited impact on economic growth. The results of the ARDL test reveal that the speed of adjustment towards long-run equilibrium after a short-term shock, which confirms the stability of Sudanese economic system through stock market performance, equals 24% only. Although market capitalization has a positive and significant impact on economic growth in the long term, the turnover ratio and stocks traded value showed insignificant negative impacts on economic growth. We recommend that suitable investment policies should be developed by policy makers for the Sudanese economy to allow the Khartoum securities market to attract foreign investors and encourage local investors in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the stock market, thus, leading to a boost in securities exchanges as well as economic growth.

Abstract:
This article is the second instalment of an exploration into teaching strategies in KS5 Classical Civilisation that started as a research project during the PGCE in 2015. I was particularly interested in determining what might be the most successful ways to approach the teaching of classical literature units. Many of the teachers and students I had spoken to expressed real concern about the volume of text to be covered and the amount of information for students to recall. Following the research I identified a number of ‘theories’ about how these challenges might be tackled and teaching strategies to address them, which I subsequently tested out in my first year of teaching. Below I recap the theories, explain the teaching strategies and activities that were trialled, and share my impressions of how and whether these worked in practice. Although many teachers will be familiar with these approaches, I hope that sharing the experience of trialling these in combination and the subsequent results may provoke consideration or re-consideration. The theories and approaches were explored across two different classes of A Level students (approximately equal numbers of male and female) studying Iliad (AS- 6 students) and Greek Tragedy (A2- 5 students) at an independent school for boarders and day pupils aged 13–18.

Abstract:
510 Background: It is well established that KRAS mutations confer resistance to anti-EGFR therapy for colorectal cancer patients. More recently, other RAS mutations (NRAS and BRAF) have been determined to cause similar resistance and treatment guidelines are changing to incorporate testing of these genes as well. In addition, evidence suggests that mutations outside of hot-spot regions (Codons 12 & 13 of KRAS and NRAS; BRAF V600E) can also mediate therapeutic response. Recent data also suggest that other genes are relevant for treatment planning. We evaluated the ability of a 415 gene panel, CancerPlex, to accurately stratify colorectal cancer patients to appropriate treatment pathways compared to single gene “hot-spot” testing and small gene panels ( ≤ 50 genes). Methods: 70 colorectal cancer samples were analyzed by a large NGS panel of 415 genes that includes full-gene sequencing for SNPs, short insertions and deletions, and CNVs. All actionable mutations for each patient were recorded. We calculated relative frequencies of variants present in key oncogenic drivers to compare the effectiveness of current single gene testing with data obtained using a large panel. Testing was performed in a CLIA-certified laboratory (KEW Group Inc, Cambridge, MA). Results: 40% of samples contained a KRAS hot-spot mutation. When expanded to NRAS and BRAF hot-spots, an additional 8% of patients were identified as resistant to anti-EGFR therapy. An additional 15% of clinically significant variants were captured by full-gene sequencing of these 3 genes. Thus, > 25% of mutations lie outside traditional hot-spot regions. The majority of BRAF mutations were not V600E. The 415 gene panel identified clinically significant driver mutations in 99% of patients, while in smaller panels missed a significant number of actionable changes. In very few patients were actionable changes limited to KRAS, NRAS and BRAF hot-spots. Conclusions: Hot-spot testing and small gene panels can miss clinically significant genomic alterations. The detection of mutations outside of small panels and hot-spots may lead to more appropriate and successful treatment of colorectal cancers.

Abstract:
The stress-strain behavior of cast magnesium alloy (AM60) was investigated by strain-controlled cyclic testing carried out on MTS. In order to describe the cyclic stress and strain properties of AM60 by means of the energy storing characteristics of microstructure during irreversible deformation, a plastic constitutive model with no yielding surface was developed for single crystal by adopting a spring-dashpot mechanical system. Plastic dashpots reflecting the material transient response were introduced to describe the plasticity of slip systems. By utilizing the KBW self-consistent theory, a polycrystalline plastic constitutive model for Magnesium alloy was formed. The numerical analysis in the corresponding algorithm is greatly simplified as no process of searching for the activation of the slip systems and slip directions is required. The cyclic stress-strain behavior, based on this model, is discussed. The simulation results show good agreement with the experimental data for AM60.

Abstract:
e16141 Background: RAS testing is essential for treatment selection in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), as anti-EGFR treatment is indicated only in patients with wild-type (WT) RAS. MORE-RAS was a multicenter, multicountry, observational, ambispective (retrospective + prospective) study designed to evaluate RAS mutation status among patients with mCRC in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Results of the retrospective study over a prior 2-year period have been previously presented. Here, we report on the prospective evaluation of testing practices in newly diagnosed patients from the same centers. Methods: Five countries (Algeria, Egypt, KSA, Kuwait, Lebanon) enrolled patients between Dec 2014 and Feb 2019. Patients with a new diagnosis of histologically proven mCRC, at least 1 measurable lesion per RECIST criteria, and tissue availability for biomarker analysis were included; those with co-existing malignancies or life expectancy < 6 months were excluded. The primary endpoint was evaluation of the rate of RAS mutation in newly diagnosed patients. Follow-up was for 2 years. Results: 500 patients (mean age 54.6 years; 58% female) were included; 96.4% had Stage 4 disease. Primary tumor sites were sigmoidal colon: 33.4%; rectum: 29.6%; ascending colon: 18.4%; descending colon: 11.4%; transverse colon: 5.2%; and unknown: 1.4%. Most frequent sites of metastasis were liver: 43.4%, lung: 16.0%, and peritoneum: 10.1%. Overall, 407 pts (81.4%; 95% CI, 78%–85%) received prescription for RAS testing. RAS WT was found in 58.4% and mutant in 41.6%; the test was inconclusive in 1 pt. Non-prescription was attributed to test unavailability and medical or financial reasons. The distribution of mutations was KRAS: 85%, NRAS: 4.9%, and not available: 10.1%. Predictors of RAS testing prescription were older age, primary tumor localization in ascending colon, and high tumor grade. Knowledge of RAS status resulted in the addition of bevacizumab or anti-EGFR therapy in 20.4% and 21.2% of pts, respectively at Visit 1 (baseline). Conclusions: RAS testing is now routinely prescribed for newly diagnosed mCRC in the MENA region and can change therapy patterns. The RAS mutation rate in this region differs from that in Western countries.

Abstract:
Abstract Microplastics (MPs) have been documented in different foodstuffs and beverages, that could affect human health due to their ingestion. Furthermore, seafood contamination with MPs puts pillars of food availability and utilization at risk. The present study investigates MPs and toxic elements pollution in commercially canned fishes from Taif governorate markets. Seven different canned fishes’ brands were used in the present study from different manufacturer countries and purchased from Taif markets. Tissue samples were digested by 10% of KOH; then, dry filters were analyzed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy to detect MPs. Filtrates were used to detect any potentially toxic elements by inductively coupled plasma. Different MPs were detected in edible tissue, such as canned Tuna contaminated with nylon, 1,2-polybutadiene, and ethylene vinyl alcohol. Sardines contain ethylene vinyl alcohol and poly(vinyl stearate), but Salmon does not have any MPs. Different elements were present in the selected samples in the decreasing order of Al > Se > Zn and traces of As and Sb. Canned fishes were contaminated with MPs and potentially toxic elements. This contamination could be a warning of the potential health risks with the long-term exposure. Therefore, it is recommended to include micro-, meso-, and even nanoplastics in the guidelines of testing food safety management systems.

Abstract:
<p>To promote independent extensive listening, the aim of this study is to investigate Saudi preparatory level students’ and their teachers’ perception about podcasts’ criteria and contents to include in an extensive supplementary listening pack. An exploratory sequential design was adopted to collect data. The results of the focus group thematic analysis helped designing an online close-ended survey. The participants were 120 students and teachers sampled from the four proficiency levels of the English Language Institute (ELI) at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The findings of the study revealed that teachers were more familiar with the podcasts than students. Furthermore, all participants had a positive attitude toward using a listening instructional supplementary pack that can include few short authentic podcasts. They recommended using various challenging topics that are related to students’ interests and proficiency levels. This study contributes to the literature of integrating podcasts to enhance extensive listening. It recommends designing an extensive listening supplementary pack based on Vandergrift and Goh’s (2012) metacognitive approach and testing its suitability for application.</p>

Abstract:
As early as 1983, Rossi propounded that one of the issues of particular interest and development within the foreign and second language teaching profession is that of proficiency testing or the evaluation of a learner's level of linguistic and communicative competence. This still holds true. On the contrary our pilot study using the Question Paper Evaluating Checklists (included in this paper) indicates that all is not right with the designing of EFL question papers in Saudi Arabia though EFL assessment patterns in the KSA have undergone much change from the time that English was first introduced into the curriculum as a compulsory foreign language. It is the demand of time that evaluation patterns be evaluated on the touchstone of latest research and their relationship with classroom practices be established. This will help the learner-teacher combine to plug the loopholes in language training. In other words, we have to realise as educators that good assessment forms the basis of a wealth of learner information that has direct and indirect ramifications on curriculum and pedagogy. Hence the need to study this aspect of EFL in the light of modern literatures in order come up with constructive recommendations.

We then used the Barker’s system design method and a prototype to validate our proposed system via usability testing. This research has resulted in the development of the G3DMS that comprises: electronic data-capture forms for data entry; a customized query builder to display and modify patient data as well as form research queries; a module that allows historical data to be uploaded in the form of bulk data using a template; export data options to Excel and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format; and authorization access for healthcare researchers and clinicians. The G3DMS was implemented in the Princess Al-Jawhara Center of Excellence in Research of Hereditary Disorders, Jeddah, KSA.

Abstract:
Bumiloka Swakarya, Sukabumi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula KSB (kemiri sunan 25% + bandotan 5%) pada konsentrasi 10 ml/l menghasilkan nilai persentase serangan PBK terendah, sedangkan formula BMP (bandotan 5% + bawang putih 5%) pada konsentrasi 10 ml/l menyebabkan intensitas serangan PBK dan kehilangan hasil terendah.</p><p>Kata kunci: Insektisida nabati, penggerek buah kakao, formula</p><p>The use of synthetic insecticide continuously to control the cocoa pod borer (CPB) can cause serious damage to the ecosystem balance in the cocoa plantations. Therefore, a control measures that are relatively safe for humans and the environment, such as the use of botanical insecticide are needed. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of plant-based insecticide from leaves goat weed-methanol and garlic-ethanol extract, and phillipine tung oil formula to protect cocoa pods from CPB infestation. The study was conducted from January to December 2013. The test materials used were goat weed-methanol+citronella (BMS), goat weed-methanol+clove oil (BMC), goat weed-methanol+garlic-ethanol (BMP), garlic-ethanol+citronella (PES), garlic-ethanol+clove oil (PEC), phillipine tung oil+garlic-ethanol (KSP), phillipine tung oil+goat weed-methanol (KSB), α-eleostearic acid (negative control), and water (positive control). All of the formulas were made in the Plant Protection Laboratory, Indonesian Industrial and Beverages Crops Research Institute (IIBCRI) Sukabumi, whereas the field testing was conducted in cocoa plantations of PT Bumiloka Swakarya, Sukabumi. Each experimental plot consisted of a 4x4 trees, repeated 3 times. In each plot selected 30 healthy cocoa pods measuring 6-10 cm in length. Distance between plots was 2 arrays of trees. Formulas concentration were 5% and 10%, which then sprayed onto the entire surface of the pods and horizontal branches using a knapsack sprayer, 6 times at intervals of 2 weeks. Solution volume was 250 ml / tree. Observations were made on the level of CPB infestation and pod damage harvested. The results showed that the lowest percentage of CPB infestation was on KSB 10 (philippine tung oil 25% + goat weed 5%), whereas the lowest percentage of intensity and yields loss were on BMP 10 (goat weed 5% + garlic 5%).</p>
