Abstract:
In AJA xcviii (1994) 609-16, F.B. Faklaris discussed the location of Aegeae, founded by the first Temenid king of the Macedonians and famous thereafter as the burial-place of the Macedonian kings (Pliny NH iv 33 ‘Aegeae in quo sepeliri mos reges’). He located it at Kopanos and not at Vergina, where I had put it in 1968. The geographical difference between the two sites is considerable. Kopanos is east of Mt. Bermion, and being some 19 km south of Edessa and 5 km east of Naoussa, it looks towards the plain of Pella. Vergina lies at the northern end of the Olympus massif, which consists of the Pierian mountains and Mt. Olympus; and it faces the Haliacmon and the western end of the plain. The choice between the two sites is to be determined by the interpretation of the literary evidence and by the ongoing flow of the archaeological discoveries.

Górnictwo ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego w Polsce należy do najstarszych na świecie przemysłów naftowych wydobywających ropę i gaz metodami wiertniczymi. Początek zorganizowanego przemysłu naftowego w Polsce przypada na rok 1852, kiedy Ignacy Łukasiewicz przeprowadził pierwszą destylację ropy otrzymując z niej naftę, którą następnie w 1853 roku zastosował jako paliwo do skonstruowanej przez siebie lampy naftowej (Ney 1973). W 1854 r. powstała pierwsza w Polsce kopalnia ropy naftowej w Bóbrce, a w roku 1855 pierwsza rafineria ropy („destylarnia”, jak wówczas nazywano) w Klęczanach k. Grybowa, założona przez I. Łukasiewicza. Początkowo metody wydobywania ropy naftowej były bardzo prymitywne. Pierwsze szyby stanowiły kopane ręcznie studnie, głębokości kilkudziesięciu metrów, tzw. kopanki. Ropę wydobywano z nich przez łyżkowanie, przy pomocy ręcznych kołowrotów. Jeden z pierwszych w Polsce kopany ręcznie szyb „Franek” zachował się do dziś na terenie kopalni w Bóbrce, gdzie obecnie znajduje się Muzeum Polskiego Przemysłu Naftowego...

Abstract:
The milestones of the life and creative path of one of the scientific school of aviation and space medicines heads are presented here, Vasily Ilyich Kopanevdoctor of medical sciences, professor, Honored Scientist of The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Major-General of Medical Service. Professor V.I. Kopanevs scientific and pedagogical activity is widely known for his studies of the psychophysiological features of flight specialists work and the search for ways to correct the functional state of the body. Vasily Ilyich studied the dynamics of the vestibular analyzer indicators under the Karyolis acceleration action. Priority developments of vestibular stability issues, and hidden forms of pilots and cosmonauts motion sickness are attributed to V.I. Kopanev. He made a significant contribution to the study of the psychophysiological features of long-range, military transport pilots work, as well as marine and helicopter aviation. The merit of V.I. Kopanev and his students work and study on the physiological mechanisms of adaptation to the conditions of weightlessness of cosmonauts is undeniable. Vasily Ilyich was a highly qualified pedagogue and organisator. He has an important role in the development of the structure-logical teaching scheme the academys aviation doctors and preparation of the list of practical skills and abilities that are subject to be worked off in teaching lessons. Under his leadership, the department of aviation and cosmic medicine shaped the air forces faculty of training doctors. In education, he was paid considerable attention to the practical application of teaching and to the improvement of the department laboratory base in accordance with the requirements of everyday professional activities of aviation doctors. Under his leadership, the training base was reconstructed with the creation of thematic classrooms. With his fruitful research and pedagogical work, V.I. Kopanev made a significant contribution to the development of domestic aviation and space medicine, particularly in the formation of the Russian system of medical support for space flights.

Abstract:
Purpose: to evaluate a new procedure for locating intraductal breast lesions detected by galactography, using the technique of intraductal placement of a Kopans spring-hookwire guide. Material and Methods: A catheter (0.7 mm) with a Kopans hookwire guide inside it was placed in 34 patients in whom an intraductal growth had been detected by galactography. the catheter was introduced through the discharging duct, with one hand holding the catheter and the other hand gently pushing the Kopans guide until it was anchored in the duct. the correct position of the guide was confirmed with new galactograms. Results: A precise excision of the lesion was satisfactorily executed in 29 of 34 patients (85%) who underwent this procedure. in 5 patients the method was unsuccessful because the Kopans guide was dislodged. Conclusion: This method is effective in removing intraductal lesions because it ensures a precise ductal excision and enables the pathologist to find the lesion more easily.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This thesis explores the representation of women, identity and education in the works of Tsitsi Dangarembga, Nervous Conditions (1989) and The Book of Not (2006), and Kopano Matlwa, Coconut (2007) and Spilt Milk (2010), through the lens of postcolonial studies. The arguments presented deal with the complicated factors associated with the formation of new identities in independent Zimbabwe and post-apartheid South Africa. I focus on how African women are represented in the texts taking place at particular socio-historical moments, including implications and interpretations of the literal and cultural shift from the indigenous, rural or segregated environments to Western, urban and racially mixed ones. My argument outlines the ways in which the stories are allegorically the stories of the fledgling democracies from which they emerge. I explore the texts in terms of symbolics of food, language, accents, family, academic settings, and the liberating and limiting elements associated with each. The authors present a complicated reality for the women of the novels, one where education is prioritized although somewhat to the detriment of traditional values and norms. The representation of women in the novels varies, leaving few successful role models for navigating workable identities for the characters as mothers, wives, and autonomous individuals. The novels offer interesting imaginaries for the future of their respective countries. The texts promote education tempered with a respect for home cultures and racial reconciliation.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Hierdie tesis ondersoek die uitbeelding van vroue, identiteit en opvoeding in die werke van Tsitsi Dangarembga en Kopano Matlwa vanuit die oogpunt van postkoloniale studies. Die voorgestelde argument hou verband met die ingewikkelde faktore van identiteit-vorming in 'n onhafhanklike Zimbabwe en 'n post-Apartheid Suid-Afrika. Ek fokus op die uitbeelding van swart vroue in hierdie tekste wat gedurende spesifiek sosio-historiese oomblikke plaas vind. Dit sluit in die gevolge en interpretasies van letterlike en kulterele verskuiwings vanaf inheemse, landelike en gesegregeerde omgewings tot Westerse, stedelike en veelrassige omgewings. My argument sit uit een hoe hierdie vroue se stories as allegorieë vir die jong demokratiese lande waaruit hul na vore kom, beskou kan word. Ek verken die tekste ook in terme van die simboliek van voedsel, taal, aksent, familie en opvoeding, en fokus verder op die bevrydende en beperkende elemente van elk. Die skrywers bied 'n ingewikkelde werkliheid vir vrouens in die romans aan, een waar opvoeding 'n prioriteit is, maar ietwat tot die nadeel van tradisionele waardes en norme. Die uitbeelding van vrouens in die romans wissel en bied min suksesvolle rolmodelle aan waarvolgens die karakters identiteite soos moeder, vrou en selfstandige individue kan vorm. Die tekste bevorder wel die verkryging van 'n volledige opvoeding, maar nie tot nadeel van tradisionele kulture, of die moontlikheid van rasseversoening nie. Beide die romans bied 'n interessante blik op die toekomste vir die onderskeie lande dur hierdie uibeelding van die vroulike karakters.

Tato diplomová práce se snaží předpovědět velikost ekonomického dopadu v případě pořádání Mistrovství Evropy v kopané na území České republiky. Vytváří přitom čtyři varianty ? optimistickou a pesimistickou variantu pod vlivem cestovního ruchu a to v případě pořádání akce samostatně či ve spolupráci s jinou zemí. V první části zkoumá přímé dopady konání ? růst HDP. V druhé části, za využití meziodvětvové analýzy, se pokouší zjistit, jak velký by byl dopad nepřímý ? obrat HDP. K výpočtu přímých dopadů sumarizuje poznatky z analýz o výstavbě nových stadionů a očekávaný přínos z cestovního ruchu. V závěrečné části nastiňuje, zda by byly jednotlivé municipality schopné vynaložit prostředky na výstavbu stadionů a potřebné infrastruktury. Vzhledem k tomu, že do současné doby jsem nedohledal žádnou studii, která by se týkala přímo tohoto tématu, považuji právě tento fakt za největší přínos této analýzy.

This study seeks to examine the concept of identity in the post-colonial South Africa. Like any other African state, South Africa was governed by a colonial strategy called apartheid which meted out harsh conditions on black people. However, the indomitable system of apartheid was subdued by the leadership of the people, which is democracy in 1994. Notwithstanding the dispensation of democracy, colonial legacies such as inequality, racial discrimination and poverty are still yet to be addressed. As mirrored in Sindiwe Magona’s Beauty’s Gift (2008) and Mother to Mother (1998) and Kopano Matlwa’s Coconut (2008) and Spilt Milk (2010), the colonial past perhaps paved a way for social issues to warm their way into the democratic South Africa. This study will use the aforementioned novels penned in the post-colonial period to present an evocation of identity-crisis in South Africa. It will then employ these methodological approaches; Afrocentricity, Feminism, Historical-biographical and Post-Colonial Theory to assert and re-assert the identity that South Africans have acquired subsequent to the political transition from apartheid to democracy. Festivals, including arts festivals, have a long history of acting as special slices of space and time to commemorate or celebrate cultural occasions (Getz, 2007, p. 11). Getz’ views events and festivals as ‘special places’ and ‘other spaces’ that exist in a ‘time out of time’. Despite the proliferation of arts festivals across the globe over the past few decades, there is a lack of articulated and documented approaches with regard to sets of general principles to guide the way in which arts festivals can be structured so as to best activate the special place of a ‘heterotopia’, which can be also be described as an ‘other’ place, similar to Getz’s notion. This dissertation proposes a framework for organising arts festivals that enhances the idea of festivals being special slices of space and time by using the EMBOK Design Domain. It provides a theoretical toolkit for future festival coordinators to be able to theoretically activate heterotopic principles of space and time. In particular, this dissertation considers the 2013-2015 Krêkvars-Kopanong Student Arts Festivals hosted by the Drama Department of University of Pretoria, South Africa. To create this framework, the dissertation first considers the notion of the festival as heterotopia – supporting Getz’s idea that festivals are special places and spaces. The dissertation uses Michel Foucault's six principles of heterotopia to explore the relationship between festivals, space, and time. The dissertation extends Foucault’s theorisation of heterotopia by introducing the concept of ‘splace’. ‘Splace’ is an important concept in order to understand the complexity of, and conceptual interface between, space and place. Secondly, the dissertation considers the Event Management Book of Knowledge (EMBOK), a formal methodology for event coordination that consists of varied spheres of management, known as domains, such as administration, marketing, operations, risk and design. This dissertation argues that the strategic use of the EMBOK Design Domain may activate heterotopic principles when used as part of the process of planning and organising the Krêkvars-Kopanong Student Arts Festival. The Design Domain largely relates to decisions around the creative content of an event. The two main components of this framework, heterotopia and EMBOK, could together form an approach for the Krêkvars-Kopanong Student Arts Festival organiser to enhance the special slice of time and space that the festival occupies – creating heterotopia. The findings of the research can be extrapolated to a broader context by applying the framework to the way design decisions are made in other festivals.

Abstract:
An analysis of the preoccupation writers of South African fiction display after the process started by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is vital in post-apartheid South African writing. It becomes clear that a fascination with the past is not bound to any one specific racial or gender group within post-apartheid South Africa. Authors can therefore be said to continue the excavation work that the TRC started many years ago. The severe impact that the rigid classification of human beings into different groups based on race had, and continues to have, becomes evident in contemporary South African writing. The fact that white privilege always comes at a cost for those wanting to attain or maintain it cannot be overlooked and whiteness as a construct is examined.

Baskı ve diğer yöntemlerle durdurulamayan ve hayatı tehdit eden uzuv (kol ve bacak) kanamalarında ya da kopmalarında turnike, uygulanmalı, en kısa sürede bir sağlık kuruluşuna ulaştırılmalıdır. Ulaşım uzun sürerse 15-20 dakikada bir turnike gevşetilir ve tekrar uygulanır. Kopan parça uygun saklama koşulları sağlanarak sağlık kuruluşuna hastayla beraber gönderilmelidir. Kopan parça kuru ortamda değil nemli ortamda saklanmamalıdır. Ancak kopan parça asla direk su ya da buz içinde saklanmamalıdır.

U ovom radu je dat pregled postupka tomografske rekonstrukcije slika, predloženog u radu Lukić i Kopanja [1], koji se bazira na pretraživanju nula prostora projektivne matrice. Do optimalnog rešenja se dolazi pretraživanjem kroz linearne kombinacije bazičnih vektora nula prostora projektivne matrice. Glavna prednost ovog algoritma jeste što u toku rekonstrukcije projektivna greška ostaje približno jednaka nuli. Pored teorijske analize, rad donosi i prikaz eksperimentalnih rezultata i poređenja sa drugim postojećim algoritmima.

Winter sports are very popular, and the Ski Resort "Kopaonik", as the largest in the Republic of Serbia, is visited by an increasing number of tourists every year. This trend of constant growth in the number of guests creates great potential for new business. Although the competitive game in this area (ski teaching) is quite strong, given that several ski schools are currently operating in Kopanik, the ski and snowboard school that is planned to start operating in the future has a competitive advantage due to business premises in an excellent location, an extremely strong team quality instructors, innovative models in work, but also the offer of services, thanks to which in the future it could successfully "compete" on the market with other opponents.

Jūros krantas – viena kaičiausių geosferos vietų žemėje. Nuolat vykstant sąnašų apykaitai tarp jūros ir kranto, stipresnės audros metu kranto profilis gali pakisti iš esmės. Tačiau, nepaisant sparčiai kintančios aplinkos, krantą sudarantys morfologiniai elementai (paplūdimys, kopagūbris) išlieka. Šio darbo tikslas – nustatyti, kaip erozinėse ir akumuliacinėse kranto atkarpose kinta morfometriniai paplūdimio rodikliai. Šių tikslų įgyvendinimui pasirinkti erozinis (Melnragė I) ir akumuliacinis (Smiltynė) kranto ruožai, kuriuose nuo 2002 m., baigus Klaipėdos uosto molų rekonstrukcijos darbus bei išgilinus įplaukos kanalą iki 14,5 m, suintensyvėjo kranto arda šiauriau molų ir akumuliacija – piečiau. Nuo 2002 m. iki 2017 m. kartą per metus (pavasarį) šiauriau ir piečiau uosto molų buvo atliekami kranto skersinės niveliacijos darbai, kurių metu nustatyta kranto profilio kaita, kranto linijos padėties kaita, paplūdimio pločio kaita, smėlio, išplauto iš paplūdimio, kaita bei smėlio kiekio, susikaupusio paplūdimyje, kaita. Nustatyta, kad, nepaisant didelio kranto linijos padėties bei sąnašų kiekio paplūdimyje kaitos, paplūdimys stengiasi išlaikyti pastovius savo morfometrinius rodiklius. Erozinio kranto atkarpoje paplūdimio forma palaikoma naudojant smėlio atsargas, sukauptas kopagūbryje. Akumuliacinio kranto atkarpoje – formuojant užuomazgines kopas viršutinėje paplūdimio dalyje.

Abstract:
Our recent studies showed that collagen fibrils (CF) are internalized by platelets in citrated plasm. This phenomenon was not observed in EDTA-PRP. In order to investigate whether collagen internalization is mediated by a receptor we studied the effect of monoclonal antibodies against the receptor molecules GP IIb/IIIa (Gi5) and GP Ib (AN51, Da-kopatts GmbH, Hamburg). Washed human platelets from healthy donors were incubated with lOμg of Gi5 or 4μg of AN51 per ml of platelet suspension (2 × 108 platelets per ml). After 10 min. at 37° C we added AOpg collagen (Hormonchemie, München) per ml of platelet suspension. After an additional incubation period of 10 min. the reaction was stopped by glutaraldehyde fixation (40μl of a 3% glutaraldehyde and of a 0.2 % tannin solution in phosphate buffer). To investigate the role of vWF in the internalization process we added 1Oμg/ml ferritin-labeled anti-vWF Fab-fragments to the platelet suspension two min. in advance of collagen stimulation (40μg/ml; 10 min). The values in percent of the inhibition of the internalization phenomena were obtained by statistical evaluation of these phenomena observed on ultrathin serial sections. Washed platelets interacted with CF in the same manner as platelets in citrated plasm, but aggregates were only formed after stirring. Washed platelets which had internalized CF were found to be completely degranulated in contrast to platelets which had only contacted CF without internalization. These platelets were hardly degranulated. The membrane system containing the internalized CF surrounded the contractile sphere of the platelets and always displayed an opening to the platelet surface.We found that Gi5 inhibited collagen internalization up to 95% and anti-vWF to approximately 50%, whereas AN51 showed no effect on this process. Futhermore, Gi5 inhibited the platelet function aggregation and the release reaction which was enhanced by CF internalization. These findings show that the GP Ilb/IIIa complex is strongly involved in the internalization of CF by platelets and suggest an involvement of vWF released from the stimulated platelets in this process by binding to the GP Ilb/IIIa complex.Supported by DFG, Grant MO 124/2-4
