The aim of the thesis is a description and characterization of the most important impacts and effects which are associated with the renewal of monument. The renewal has a huge impact on the monument itself. It is a way how to preserve the existence of monument for the future. When the monument is integrated again into a contemporary community, it brings new economic benefits which give the monument a new sense of being and give it the chance to be conserved and protected for next generations. This new economic role of the monument has to be considered only with the respect to its historical and artistic value. The existence of monument affects also its surroundings in many ways. Monument has an obvious impact on landscape, the view of horizon and also influences the quality of life of people living in the vicinity. Monument can enrich leisure time of local people or turists. It can be also the key factor for developing of tourism, incoming investments and prosperity of this locality. Monument could not be considered in isolation of its surroundings because it creates together a complex which influences the monument, and on the other hand, which is influenced by the monument.

The main aim of the diploma thesis was to design a building that meets the requirements provided by the announcer and at the same time has a positive impact on the area in both closer and larger context. This may include increasing the number of ecclesiastical buildings, improving the quality of local architecture, expanding the range of social and leisure activities, and cultivating terrain and greenery. All of above on the basis of the analysis of the locality in its context and further coherences (cultural, historical). The object is not only to provide background to enlisted activities, but also to serve as a representative building attracting new visitors. It is an active space connecting the urban population with culture, nature and above all God - with the help of its location on a visible, attractive place with good access. It will be a dominant building expressing its purpose, related to its surroundings and functionally cooperating with the cultural and social happening in Líšeň with a transition to a city-scale dimension.

Thesis aims to describe the possibilities arising from the using of the Internet by residents of spatially defined suburban communities. Social environment in suburban areas is amended by arrival of large numbers of new residents, and any possibility of making new contacts becomes a potential benefit for community building and building of social capital in these rapidly changing areas. The work is focused on Internet forums of Prague suburb municipalities, which provide an opportunity for making new contacts between residents as well as participate in discussions on general issues with other locals and with representatives of local administration. The diploma thesis deals with the education and traditions in the municipality of Horní Střítež in a comprehensive context. It presents an image of rural life and factors influencing the development of the village and contemporary life of the residents. Alongside principal education concepts, the thesis draws on an extensive context of findings from other academic disciplines. The first part of the thesis describes the historical context of the events that shaped the development of the municipality. Chapters mapping, in more detail, the current events, with particular emphasis on the role of education in the rural family and in the community, the school system and leisure time follow, highlighting the benefits of the traditional conception of life in the country. Theoretical and methodological aspects as well as the ethical aspect are relevant in the application of the qualitative research method. POST-WAR DEVELOPMENT AND DAILY LIFE IN LIDICE (memories of Lidice residents of reverent memorials and a life in the village) Author deals with post-war development of Lidice since 1945 to 1989 with certain enjambment to years to come.Thesis tries to show, which way Lidice were exploited by communist regime to socialism propaganda and how it reflected in lives of Lidice residents. Author describes and assesses construction of new village together tied up with cooperating organizations, particularly Society for Lidice reconstruction a British movement Lidice Shall Live founded by Sir Barnett Stross. Author concetrates on Barnett Stross more closely concerning the fact author has contacted his family in Great Britain, where she has obtained memories on founder of new Lidice. Secondly, diplomate concentrates on life in new Lidice and perception of reverent memories and life of Lidice residents. Primarily, memories of narrators became main source base, which she has acquired and processed by oral history method. Diplomate replenished oral sources by literature studies and archive sources analysis (mainly from SOaK Kladno, Society for Lidice reconstruction fund, London National Archive and period press). The submitted diploma work "Power and Powerlessness" - Emanuel Rádl on the intellectual's responsibility for a life in polis addresses the fundamental questions articulated by the philosophy of one of the most interesting and controversial proponents of Czech philosophical thinking during the first half of the 20th century. The author presents Emanuel Rádl's life and work on the background of the era of laborious formation of a modern society in the independent Czechoslovak Republic, in opposition to the thoughts and approach of the principal polit ical personality and source of inspiration for Czech philosophers of the ment ioned era - T. G. Masaryk. The classical topics of social philosophy, ethics and the philosophy of religion, which have traditionally occupied a dominant place in Czech thinking, resonate in E. Rádl's interpretation with the dramatic events of modern European history, go beyond the scope of local philosophising to culminate in the tragic discourse on the intellectual's responsibility towards the polis when the values of European humanistic heritage are threatened, and in reflection on philosophy's power and powerlessness when faced with the menace of fascism.

The topic of this diploma thesis is a cultural life in small spa towns, specifically presented on a case study of town Lázně Toušeň. In the theoretical part of the thesis the topic is incorporated into urban sociology and the thesis focuses on questions such as what is the difference between a city and a village, are there any transitional areas and what kind of urbanization processes can occur in the countryside. In the second chapter of the theoretical part the main focus of the thesis lies with spas, their history and cultural specifics. In the empirical part, the case study itself, the thesis looks into the town of Lázně Toušeň and its spa, specifically on the cultural life in the town between the years 1968 - 1989. The study focuses on topics such as what is the difference between cultural and community life in the town during normalization period and present day and how are they influenced by the specifics of Toušeň. The study also covers the topics of daily life in the spa, the organizational and financial side of the cultural events or the role of the "cultural officers".
