Abstract:
Karakas are an important constituent of Hindi language. Karaka relations express syntactico-semantic or semantico-syntactic relationship between verbs and nouns or pronouns in a sentence. They capture certain level of semantics closer to thematic relations, but different from it. A vibhakti is assigned to each karaka, in Paninian grammar. This paper investigates the role of karaka relations in Hindi Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) by utilizing vibhaktis. Two supervised WSD algorithms were used for disambiguation. The first algorithm is based on conditional probability of co-occurring words and the second algorithm is Naïve Bayes (NB) classifier. The first algorithm utilizes various heuristics for analyzing the role of karakas in Hindi WSD. The authors obtained an improvement of 14.86% in precision by utilizing content words, vibhaktis and phrases containing them in context vector over the context vector of content words after dropping vibhaktis. A gain of 6.91% in precision was observed by using content words and vibhaktis in context vector over the context vector of content words after dropping vibhaktis of similar context window size. The authors obtained maximum precision of 50.73% by extracting vibhaktis in a ±3 window using WSD algorithm based on conditional probability of co-occurring words. They obtained maximum precision of 56.56% by extracting vibhaktis in a ±4 window using NB classifier.

Abstract:
Hindi is the third most-spoken language in the world (615 million speakers) and has the fourth highest native speakers (341 million). It is an inflectionally rich and relatively free word-order language with an immense vocabulary set. Despite being such a celebrated language across the globe, very few Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications and tools have been developed to support it computationally. Moreover, most of the existing ones are not efficient enough due to the lack of semantic information (or contextual knowledge). Hindi grammar is based on Paninian grammar and derives most of its rules from it. Paninian grammar very aggressively highlights the role of karaka theory in free-word order languages. In this article, we present an application that extracts all possible karakas from simple Hindi sentences with an accuracy of 84.2% and an F1 score of 88.5%. We consider features such as Parts of Speech tags, post-position markers (vibhaktis), semantic tags for nouns and syntactic structure to grab the context in different-sized word windows within a sentence. With the help of these features, we built a rule-based inference engine to extract karakas from a sentence. The application takes in a text file with clean (without punctuation) simple Hindi sentences and gives back karaka tagged sentences in a separate text file as output.

Abstract:
Blackberry (Rubus subg. Eubatus Focke) occupies a certain place in the supply chain of berry crops in Russia. It ripens later than traditional berry crops, has a high self-fertility and adaptive capacity, which allows it to be cultivated in various regions of our country. The value of this culture consist in the large amount of antioxidant compounds in the fruits. The purpose of our study is to assess the economic and organoleptic characteristics of the blackberry variety ‘Karaka Black’ in the south of Russia. As a result of the research, it was found that ‘Karaka Black’ is suitable for industrial cultivation in Russia and meets the requirements of the market in a number of indicators: sugar content 8.95 brix, % rotten fruits after 7 days of storage at 4 °C is 7.5%, the percentage of rejected fruits after 48 hours storage at 20℃ - 19.9%. A comparative analysis of blackberry fruits showed that in New Zealand it is possible to obtain fruits with a sugar content 2.25 brix more, during storage, the damage of fruits is 6.3% less. Abstract:
We report the first emaravirus on an endemic plant of Aotearoa New Zealand that is, to the best of our knowledge, the country’s first endemic virus characterised associated with an indigenous plant. The new-to-science virus was identified in the endemic karaka tree (Corynocarpus laevigatus), and is associated with chlorotic leaf spots, and possible feeding sites of the monophagous endemic karaka gall mite. Of the five negative-sense RNA genomic segments that were fully sequenced, four (RNA 1–4) had similarity to other emaraviruses while RNA 5 had no similarity with other viral proteins. A detection assay developed to amplify any of the five RNAs in a single assay was used to determine the distribution of the virus. The virus is widespread in the Auckland area, particularly in mature trees at Ōkahu Bay, with only occasional reports elsewhere in the North Island. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that its closest relatives are pear chlorotic leaf spot-associated virus and chrysanthemum mosaic-associated virus, which form a unique clade within the genus Emaravirus. Based on the genome structure, we propose this virus to be part of the family Emaravirus, but with less than 50% amino acid similarity to the closest relatives in the most conserved RNA 1, it clearly is a novel species. In consultation with mana whenua (indigenous Māori authority over a territory and its associated treasures), we propose the name Karaka Ōkahu purepure virus in te reo Māori (the Māori language) to reflect the tree from which it was isolated (karaka), a place where the virus is prevalent (Ōkahu), and the spotted symptom (purepure, pronounced pooray pooray) that this endemic virus appears to cause.

Abstract:
Blackberry is a new berry crop of industrial horticulture in the central part of Russia. More than 20 blackberry varieties were collected at the experimental sites of the SPC “Agropishcheprom". The paper presents the results of the study of 11 modern blackberry varieties. During preparation for winter, the plants were covered with covering material, and therefore, no winter damage was found during the years of research. A fluctuation in the accumulation of positive temperatures during the period of fruit formation and maturation, affecting the biochemical parameters and taste of fruits, was revealed. There is also a difference in the amount of precipitation over the years, which affects the average fruit weight. Thus, in 2020, during the formation and maturation of the fruits, 40% less precipitation fell in comparison with 2019, which led to a decrease in the average fruit weight. As a result of the research, the varieties were grouped according to maturation period, fruit average weight and taste. Selected varieties for use in breeding for large-fruited are the following: Natchez, Karaka Black, Black Butte and Triple Crown. Loch Maree, Natchez, Polar, Triple Crown, Black Butte and Karaka Black varieties were characterized by high taste qualities.

Abstract:
There were 13 blackberry cultivars new in Poland tested, including: Black Butte, Boysenberry, Chester Thornless, Helen, Karaka Black, Kotata, Loch Ness, Loch Tay, Loganberry, and Oregon Thornless. The experiment was conducted between 2005 and 2010 in central Poland with the main focus on resistance of the cultivars to adverse local environmental conditions, as well as to assess the yield and fruit quality. Analysis of data on fruit yield and fruit weight indicated significant differences between cultivars and years. There were slight differences in harvest date from year to year. Cv. Chester Thornless had the greatest yield – avg. 12.9 kg/plant (2007–2008). All of the hybrid berries and the trailing blackberries had yields that were not different – below 3.5 kg/plant. Cvs Black Butte and Karaka Black had the heaviest fruit, above 6.0 g (2006) and up to 10 g per fruit (2007 and 2008). Cv. Oregon Thornless had the smallest fruits – 2.1 g per fruit (2006) and up to 3 g (2007, 2008). The experiment showed that plants were influenced by the Polish weather conditions.

Abstract:
Metamorphosed, sexually mature Platynereis adults captured swimming nearshore at night off the New Zealand coast had major morphological differences that indicated four similar sympatric species existed, where previously only P. australis had been known. Simultaneous reproductive swarming of all taxa was possible at a locality. The three hitherto cryptic species are described as Platynereis mahanga sp. nov., P. kau sp. nov., and P. karaka sp. nov.. Paragnath arrangement and chaetal morphology are near identical in all four species. Homogomph notopodial falcigers, which are distinctive in shape in some Platynereis, are lacking in adults of this group of species. Pigmentation pattern differences and other minor variations are present in life in atokous (unmetamorphosed) benthic forms, but museum specimen atokes cannot be unambiguously separated into species by morphology. Heteronereid (metamorphosed) natatory forms of the four New Zealand species are distinct in several characters, including morphology of sperm papillae groups in males, and number of pre-natatory anterior segments in both sexes. Differences in size, habitat, peak spawning season, interbreeding, and juvenile development are noted. Morphology and biology are discussed in relation to other Platynereis. Presence of the P. australis group species beyond the continental shelf seas adjoining the three main islands is now undetermined except for P. australis at Chatham Islands, P. mahanga at the subantarctic Auckland and Campbell Islands, and P. karaka at Wanganella Bank; all prior reports of P. australis outside the New Zealand region need re-evaluation from specimens.

Abstract:
За стійкістю до втрати вологи досліджувані сорти розділено на три групи: високопосухостійкі (Black Diamond, Black Pearl, Chief Joseph, Heaven can Wait, Loch Tay, Natches, Orkan, Насолода, Chester, Ouachita), середньопосухостійкі (Karaka Black, Adriene, Аsterina, Brzezina, Cacanska Вestrna, Navaho, Tornfree, Садове чудо, Jumbo, Kiowa, Reuben) та сорти з низькою стійкістю (Apache, Black Butte, Black Magic, Triple Crown). The article presents the results of laboratory studies of the influence of high temperatures on the physiological state of the leaves of 25 varieties of blackberries in the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. In the laboratory, water-physical properties, such as water retention capacity, moisture deficit and water content of leaf tissues, were studied. In terms of resistance to loss of moisture, the varieties under study are divided into three groups: high-drought-resistant (Black Diamond, Black Pearl, Chief Joseph, Heaven can Wait, Loch Tay, Natches, Orkan, Nasoloda, Chester, Ouachita), medium-drought-resistant (Karaka Black, Adriene, Аsterina, Brzezina, Cacanska Вestrna, Navaho, Tornfree, Sadove chudo, Jumbo, Kiowa, Reuben) and varieties with low resistance (Apache, Black Butte, Black Magic, Triple Crown). Varieties Natches and Apache, and the highest – Black Butte are characterized by a low indicator of water deficit. The highest waterlogging of blackberry leaf tissues was noted in varieties of Loch Tay (58.9 %), Tornfree (59.7 %) and Brzezina (60.8 %). The least hydrated are the fabrics of varieties Navaho and Black Butte (51.4 and 51.7 % respectively).

Abstract:
The authors present the results of evaluating the economic efficiency of growing blackberry cultivars of different ripening terms in the plantation of the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) of Ukraine. The capital investments on the creation and management of 1 ha of the plantation were 517.3 thousand ₴ (under the planting plan 1.25 х 3.00 m), the trellis putting and laying being about 50 % of the mentioned sum. The productional costs on the fruit-bearing plantation management depended on the cv yield, expenditures for salaries and wages, fertilizing, protective means, fuel and lubricant use, plants covering for winter, the agricultural technics amortization etc. and were within 144.1-283.0 thousand ₴. The wholesale price of the early ripening varieties products was 80.0 ₴/kg. Thus the receipts of the realized products were within considerable limits. Cvs Thornfree, Asterina, Čačanska Bestrna and Chester were characterized with the lowest cost per 1 t of the products (22.61; 23.10; 23.43 and 24.97 thousand ₴ respectively while Nasoloda and Karaka Black with the highest one (38.98 and 37.85 thousand ₴ respectively). The profit per 1 ha of inland variety Nasoloda plantations was the lowest one among the presented cultivars, (42.74 thousand ₴) whereas the early ripening cvs Loch Tay and Brzezina ensured 380.79 and 335.18 thousand ₴ respectively. The same cvs distinguis hed themselves for the highest profitableness level (185.2 and 172.4 % respectively as well as for the shortest rates of the capital investments return recovery – 3.4 and 3.5 years respectively. The profitableness of cv Karaka Black was 111.3 % with the rate of return cost recovery 5.0 years because of the lower yield. This was economically favourable too though. The average and late ripening cultivars which formed the yield of 7.0-8.0 t/ha had the rate of the investment return 4.0-5.0 years. It should be noted that it was cv Thornfree that distinguishhed itself for the highest profitableness (121.1 %) among late ripening cvs with the rates of capital investments on the plantation establishment return 3.4 years.

Abstract:
The New Zealand karaka tree, Corynocarpus laevigatus J.R. & G.Forst., is shown to be gynodioecious. Flowers on female plants have large but empty anthers and many set fruit. Flowers on male plants produce pollen and each has a fully developed ovule. On most male plants, a low proportion of flowers set fruit. Inflorescences and flowers on male and female trees are similar in overall appearance, except that the flower parts on males are larger and flowers open more widely. Even the gynoecia on male plants are larger in most respects. We also report that although trees retain their gender, their intensity of fruiting varies from year to year. Some observations indicate that other species of Corynocarpus in Australia and the south-western Pacific might also be gender dimorphic.

Abstract:
<p>This article is a sociolinguistic study conducted in Amman and Karak (Jordan) to investigate the linguistic variation in the speech of 48 Karaki informants who are originally from Karak and now living in Amman, and another 48 Karaki informants who still live in Karak. The [ki] variant of the (Vki) variable will be used as a basis to investigate this variation. The study shows that the [ki] is still preserved by the old in Karak and in Amman. It also shows that it is used by the young in a higher percentage than it is in Karak. The exaggeration of the use of it by the young, in contexts where the use of it is not preferable, for example in the presence of other people who do not use it, shows a strong desire to appear as local. It is also an attempt by the young to associate themselves with an area, namely the Karak area, which is known to be socially and politically important in Jordan. Appearing as local is not an aim in itself. It helps to achieve social aims. However, young females do not show the same desire. It disappears from their speech. Appearing as local is not the first priority by them. The rate of using it by them in Karak was in a low percentage. It becomes even lower in Amman. So, it is not uncommon to find women leads in linguistic change and to be innovative in this.</p>

Abstract:
Abstract Blackberry is a berry culture of the genus Rubus L., which is just beginning to spread in Russia. At the moment, the only domestic variety has been registered, in connection with which there is a need to study foreign varieties as donors of valuable traits. The aim of the study is to assess the influence of varietal characteristics on the quantitative traits of blackberries for further breeding. The article discusses eight varieties of blackberries ('Karaka Black', 'Natches', 'Loch Tay', 'Columbia Star', 'Ark Prime Freedom', 'Black Gem', 'Black Magic', 'Heaven Can Wait'), which were grown in the Rostov region (Russia). To determine the effect, the method of one-way statistical analysis was used. High proportions of factorial influence on berry weight (84%), berry length (81%), amount of sugars (96%), average number of drupes per fruit (76%), average number of replacement shoots (80%), total length of replacement shoots were revealed. (77%), potential number of cuttings from one bush (77%), number of fruits on the lateral (64%), length (67%) and width of the central leaflet (47%), length of the petiole (54%), yield (60% ). No significant influence of the cultivar on the thickness of the petiole, the number of leaves and the average height of the replacement shoots was found. Since the characteristics of a variety make a significant contribution to the variability of traits, a number of varieties with a high or low value of the variable for a trait can become their donors.

<p>This study is intended to analyse type and amount of MSS (Mangrove worm, Snail and Shell) consumed by the local people live in 12 estuary villages of Mimika. About 30 people for each village - consist of children (2-10 yrs), teenages (11-19 yrs) and adults (&gt;=20 yrs) from both sexes, were selected as subjects. The data collected include socio-economic of<br />the family, type and amount of MSS consumption. The results showed that Bactronophorus thoracites (tambelo), Nerita balteata (snail) and Telecopium telescopium (snail), Naqueita capulina (snail) and Geloina sp (shell), Geloina cf coaxan (shell) were the six types of MSS commonly consumed by people in the study areas; and they were consumed by more than 10 % of the subjects with eating frequency more than three times a week for each. The mean intake of tambelo, snail and shell was 290.1±509.4, 96.0±271.2, and 152.8±278.6 g/week respectively in edible portion. Among the age groups, the highest intake of ambelo (433.2±627.5 g/week) and snail (133.8±387.9 g/week) was in adults, but the highest intake of shell (213.7±369.7 g/week) was in teenages. Intake data by village showed that, the highest intake of tambelo was in male of Mioko (542.1±730.8 g/week), the highest intake of snail was in female of Karaka (649.2±487.9 g/week), and so for shell (599.8±484.0 g/week). This implies that the MSS play important roles in the diet of the local people of Mimika’s estuary. </p>

Abstract:
Abstract Blackberries are a valuable and promising berry crop that has spread in Europe and America. In Russia, breeding is at an early stage of development, which has led to the production of a single variety so far. In this regard, the goal of the study was set - to determine the conjugation of quantitative traits of blackberries for further selection. The article studied 8 varieties of blackberries ('Karaka Black', 'Natches', 'Loch Tay', 'Columbia Star', 'Ark Prime Freedom', 'Black Gem', 'Black Magic', 'Heaven Can Wait') in the collection of the nursery in the south of Russia. The relationships between the following quantitative traits were studied: yield, weight of berries, length of berries, amount of sugars, average number of drupes per fruit, length and width of central leaflet, length of petiole, thickness of petiole, number of leaflets, average height of replacement shoots, total length of replacement shoots, potential the number of cuttings from one bush and the number of fruits on the lateral. Correlation analysis was used to identify reliable connections between the signs. Found a strong positive relationship between berry length and weight, as well as the average number of drupes per fruit. The amount of sugars in a close positive relationship with the number of leaves. Also interrelated are the average number of replacement shoots per plant, the total length of replacement shoots and the potential number of cuttings per bush. A negative weak relationship was noted between pairs of traits: berry length and average number of replacement shoots; berry length and potential number of cuttings per bush; the width of the central leaflet and the number of fruits on the lateral.

Abstract:
In this paper we describe the verbs of falling in Karata, an Andic (<East Caucasian) language. Our research is based on the dialect of Karata which is spoken in the village of Karata (Akhvakhsky district, Dagestan, Russia). The semantic field of falling includes eight verbs. The verb t’araɬa ‘to fall down’ is the dominant one. It can be used in the majority of situations of falling. The remaining seven verbs are more specialized. They are used in the situations of falling which have special features. The verb karaɬa ‘to topple over’ describes the situation of falling from a vertical position. Some of the verbs can only be combined with special subjects of falling (e.g. only with humans). t’oraɬa ‘to drip’ and ͡tʃʷaχːaɬa ‘to fl ow’ describe the falling of water. The first verbal root, t’oraɬa ‘to drip’, describes the falling of small portions of water (e.g. of water drops). Furthermore, the root of this verb may be (partially) reduplicated: in Karata, (partial) reduplication has the semantics of so-called verbal plurality. The meaning of tʼor~t’-aɬa ‘drip~VPL-INF’ presupposes that there was a number of drips, not only one drip. The second verbal root for the falling of water, ͡tʃʷaχːaɬa ‘to fl ow’, describes the falling of water as a substance (i.e. as a mass noun). tort͡ʃʼːaɬa ‘to crash’ is special in that it implies that the falling occurred with a loud sound. It covers many falling situations, including falling from upside down and falling from vertical position. The verb χːeraɬa ‘to pour’ is used with friable substances (e.g. sand). baχːaɬa ‘to collapse’ describes falling with destruction of the subject of falling. Finally, giraɬa ‘to lay down’ specializes in falling of human subjects from a vertical position. Overall, there are two parameters are crucial for the system of verbs of falling in Karata: (i) a kind of the subject of falling (human vs. non-human, mass noun vs. countable noun) and (ii) a kind of the situation of falling (e.g. falling from a vertical position or falling with destruction of the subject of falling)

Abstract:
This study was conducted to elucidate the mechanism underlying the hypolipidemic action of karaya saponin or Rhodobacter (R.) capsulatus. A total of 40 laying hens (20-week-old) were assigned into four dietary treatment groups and fed a basal diet (as a control) or basal diets supplemented with either karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, or both for 60 days. The level of serum low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol and the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the serum, liver, and egg yolk were reduced by all the supplementations (). Liver bile acid concentration and fecal concentrations of cholesterol, triacylglycerol, and bile acid were simultaneously increased by the supplementation of karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, and the combination of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus (). The supplementation of karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, and the combination of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus suppressed the incorporation of from -palmitic acid into the fractions of total lipids, phospholipids, triacylglycerol, and cholesterol in the liver in vitro (). These findings suggest that the hypocholesterolemic effects of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus are caused by the suppression of the cholesterol synthesis and the promotion of cholesterol catabolism in the liver.

Abstract:
Tri Hita Karana (THK) is a philosophy of life that has taken root in Hindu society in Bali. Tri Hita Karana means three causes of happiness that are created from the harmonious relationship between humans and the natural environment (Palemahan), humans and the social environment of society (pawongan), humans and the spiritual / God environment (Parhayangan). One effort to implement the Tri Hita Karana concept in the field of tourism is through annual competition and accreditation of eco-friendly tourism in the perspective of the Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations-THK Awards that have been held since 2000. The role of an architect in realizing Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations is needed especially in realizing two of the three aspects of the Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations, namely planning and building a villa residence. Knowledge, experience and professionalism of an architect is very much needed in translating an idea and desire of the owner and implementing oneself in the use of the environment and socio-culture of the local community, so that the design is comfortable, safe, energy efficient, economical and environmentally friendly. An architect must play a role and have a strategy to realize and apply the concepts that already exist in Bali to the fullest, so that Bali's viability can still be maintained..
