Abstract:
We have phenomenologically investigated the kaon photoproduction process γp → K+Λ by combining different types of hadronic form factors (HFFs) inside a covariant isobar model. We obtained the best model with the smallest χ2/N by using the dipole form factor in the Born terms and a combination of the dipole, Gaussian, as well as generalized dipole form factors in the hadronic vertices of the nucleon, kaon and hyperon resonances. By utilizing this model we found that the experimental data used in the analysis are internally consistent, whereas the behavior of differential cross-section at forward angles is not significantly affected by the variation of hadronic coupling constants (CCs) and form factor cutoffs in the model.

Abstract:
The CKM matrix element |Vus| can be extracted from the experimental measurement of semileptonic K → π decays and theoretical input for the corresponding vector form factor in QCD. The thesis performs a major improvement of the RBC/UKQCD programme to calculate Kl3 form factor in Nf = 2+1 Lattice QCD using domain wall fermions. We use data from several lattice spacings and dfferent quark masses with lightest pion mass of about 170MeV. Systematic error corresponding to interpolation in the momentum transfer is avoided using partially twisted boundary conditions. Using simulated quark masses near the physical point, reduce the systematic error due to the mass extrapolation. This work explores different kinematic arrangements of pion and Kaon momenta for twisted boundary conditions. This thesis proposes a new ansatz for mass extrapolation. Analysing three sets of simulation data allows for a detailed study of systematic effects leading to the prediction f+kπ (0) = 0:9671(17)(+18-46), where the first error is statistical and the second error systematic. The result allows us to extract the CKM matrix element |Vus| = 0:2237(+13-8) and confirm unitarity of the first row CKM matrix in the Standard Model. Also in this thesis, we discuss porting of Clover Lattice fermion action to Blue Gene-Q architecture. Clover action achieves maximum efficiency of 29.1% for single precision with good weak scaling. Strong scaling shows local volume dependency. In a study of different iterative solvers for Domain Wall Fermion action (DWF), we find that Modified Conjugate Residual(MCR) and Multishift MCR as the most efficient solver compared to CG and GCR. A new probing technique for estimating the diagonal of the inverse Dirac operator in Lattice QCD is introduced and this method is found to be closer to the exact solution than stochastic methods.

Abstract:
The emergence of new digital technologies has paved a way for new business opportunities which have led to drastic changes to the way organizations do business. This technological progress has resulted in a conundrum in which research cannot always keep up with the rate of technological progress. Said issue can be observed in the complex and resource-intensive field of digital transformation which has several research gaps. Primary of which is the lack of research concerning how an organization can systematically assist the digital transformation of another organization in a cooperative environment. The aim of this study was to generate a deeper understanding of digital transformation as a process of co-creation by conducting a qualitative study on how an organization that works with integration of digital solutions systematically assists their customers with digital transformation. In line with the aim of this study, we have analyzed the case based on an analytical framework grounded in existing digital transformation research. Our analysis shows that the studied organization succeeded in systematically assisting its customers digital transformation because of its cooperative and flexible workflow. This workflow allows the organization to rapidly and iteratively collect and exchange information with its customers. Based on that information the organization is able to produce prototypes and deliver digital innovation solutions that are in line with its customers’ demands. Additionally, the workflow combined with the acquired information allows the organization to systematically influence and steer their customers digital transformation at different stages of the co-creational process. The results of this study showcased that the conceptualization of digital transformation in existing research is limited. This indicates that future studies in the field should focus on researching digital transformation in the context of how one organization can assist in another organization’s digital transformation.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
"I think most of it are will, if you want enough then you can always learn" - A qualitative study on the conditions of knowledge sharing in the Swedish manufacturing industry. Our bachelor's thesis aims to contribute with increased knowledge and understanding about the conditions and obstacles that affect the knowledge sharing process.  The theoretical frame of reference of the study is based on theories and previous research regarding knowledge as a concepts, conditions and factors that influence knowledge sharing and Knowledge Management. The theoretical frame of reference has been developed and revised during the study based on the empirical material similar to the abductive approach. The method of the study was of a qualitative nature with semi-structured interviews as a method of data-collection in which six (6) out of eleven (11) respondents from a department in the studied organization participated.  The results of the study show that organizational conditions, relationships, and organizational culture have a strong impact on the ability to share knowledge and in cases where the conditions are not favorable, the process is significantly hindered. The study shows that knowledge sharing is strongly influenced by social factors linked to employees' relationships and that the interpersonal context is of central importance. Furthermore, it emerges that the absence of Knowledge Management is a clear barrier to knowledge sharing, which highlights the need for knowledge sharing to be led through active Knowledge Management.

Abstract:

Hutauruk, Parada Tobel Paraduan. "Nonperturbative aspects of kaon structure." Thesis, 2016. http://hdl.handle.net/2440/99170.

Full text
Abstract:
In this thesis we have studied the structure of the kaon using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model with the proper-time regularisation scheme to simulate the effect of quark confinement. The separate contributions of each flavour to the elastic form factor are calculated with and without the effect of dressing at the quark-photon vertex. In comparison with the existing experimental data, our model shows a remarkable agreement. We found the contribution of the anti-strange quark sector form factor of the kaon dominates for Q² ≥ 1.6 GeV², whereas the contribution of the u-quark sector form factor of the kaon is larger for Q² ≤ 1.6 GeV². Clearly the difference in quark masses leads to a dramatic difference between the anti-strange quark and the up quark contribution to the kaon form factors. We observed the structure of the kaon with a particular interest in the effects of the larger mass of the strange quark. At present, a detailed understanding of the pion and kaon structure is hampered by the rather small sample of experimental data. It is known that uᴋ is somewhat at softer that uπ in large-x valence region, which we will show is a natural consequence of the larger mass of the spectator strange quark in the K⁺. While at the present time, one does not know the separate flavour contributions to the kaon elastic form factor and one may hope that it will prove possible to measure them in future. Given the phenomenological importance of the Drell-Yan-West relation (DYWR), it is certainly of considerable theoretical interest to compare the flavour dependence of the large-x PDFs with corresponding large-Q² behaviour of the separate flavour contributions to the elastic form factors. We also investigate the effect of the spectator quark mass on the PDF for a given quark flavor, finding satisfactory agreement with the experimental ratio uᴋ+(x) / uπ+(x) . We conclude with a discussion of the relationship of the large-x behaviour of a PDF and the high-Q² behaviour of the contribution to the elastic form factor from the same quark. The comparison of the asymptotic behaviour of the individual flavour form factors and parton distributions is fascinating. While all elastic form factors in the NJL model behave as 1 / Q² at larger Q², as already noted, the total K⁺ and π⁺ form factors only differ by about 10% in that region. As a reflection of the DYWR, we conclude that this dominance of the elastic form factor for the s-quark [s with macron] at large Q² is mirrored in the dominance of the strange PDF at large-x, with sᴋ+(x) / uᴋ+(x) [s with macron] 3 : 1 at large-x.

Owing to the growing number of Chinese internet users and the gradual maturation of network techniques, the CNNIC provided the “China network shopping marketing research report in 2009”, and the data shows that network shopping marketing in China contains considerable development space and is full of potential commercial opportunities, and thus numerous network shopping owners plan to develop the China market during 2010. Because most countries regard China as a crucial market with enormous potential, network shopping owners with strong competitiveness, including in terms of information integration, product diversification, marketing approaches, cash flow, and material flow, plan to extend their network shopping business to the Chinese market, and thus must understand customer requirements in relation to network shopping in China. In terms of customer expectations regarding network shopping services in China, this study found the precise network shopping platform service quality that customers demand in China using the Kano Model. According to the analytical results obtained using the Kano Model, this study understands the importance of applying quality function deployment to accompany the response strategies, and quality function deployment (QFD) can be a standard model for network shopping owners or others who decide to operate network shopping platforms in China. The research comprises two stages. Zeithaml, Parasuraman & Malhotra(2000) offered online service quality and e-SERVQUAL as basic data for editing the service quality questionnaire and classified network service quality using the Kano Model and also calculated quality satisfaction. This study takes the analytical results as a basis for applying the second stage of quality function deployment to customer requirements and priorities. During the second stage, this study transforms customer demands obtained from the Kano Model into technical and managerial requirements via Quality Function Deployment. This approach enables entrepreneurs to establish a network shopping platform that meets client needs and satisfies their requests.

Alongside the overall increase in movie-goers, the deep influence of mainstreamfilms within the audience can be observed in the adoption of the disseminated social values by the general public. This is especially obvious in blockbusters that have obtained extreme success in the box office. The location in which the film was made, the equipment that was used, the apparel and places the characters visited all become secondary focuses of its popularity; creating a unique surge of film tourism. In sight of such a phenomenon, it became apparent that films have become a new gateway to a new form of tourism and merchandising. To fulfill the ever heightened expectations of visitors, the necessity to understand the needs of the public becomes an essential factor in the development of film-related tourism merchandise. Therefore, in order to understand what sorts of film-related tourism merchandise attracts the interests of potential visitors, especially considering their high expectations in product quality; this research used the Evaluation Grid Method theory from Preference-Based Design and the Kano quality model. It also includes 10 interviews with tourists that are highly involved in film-related tourism products and 403 valid questionnaires for this two-phased study.Research result shows: 1.The attractiveness factor consisted of 24 product originality factors, 42 abstract attractiveness factors and 63 concrete attractiveness factors. Amongst the choices, participants felt the most connection with the actual movie, film location and tourist attraction sites. 2.Visitors who were high level participants in cinematic tourism products had a higher possibility to be attracted by cinematic tourism products. 3.The gender, age, education level and occupation of visitors were obvious factors in determining a visitor’s level of participation in cinematic tourism products. 4.The age and education level of a visitor will cause a difference in their level of attraction to cinematic tourism products. 5.There are three major key quality factors found in cinematic tourism industry: 1) core knowledge, 2) in-depth experience and 3) high-end aesthetics; there are 7 categories that reside under attractivenesstic qualities. 6.Different types of visitors have different acknowledgements of the various services found within the cinematic tourism industry. This would vary depending on whether or not the visitor has seen the movie or have participated in any movie related activities or not. 7.As for quality improvement markers to raise overall satisfactory levels, there are a few points that could be of importance. Points such as the general planning of visitor circulation routes both inside and outside the venues, the beautification of related installations, the management of space and atmosphere aesthetics and respect for historical values and personal experience factors. Also, it is important to improve the references to both local and city lifestyles including cultural specificities (example: relics, music, apparel and cultural customs). This research clearly identified the attractiveness factor of KANO’s cinematic tourism products and also the various needs from different types of visitors towards the cinematic tourism industry. With this study, it can reduce future assessment time for evaluations on cinematic tourism product developments and their visitors. It is provided as reference to cinematic tourism related industries and other marketing research. Further suggestions for improvement made to KANO cinematic tourism products and the future of Taiwan’s cinematic tourism recommendations can be used as future research references for government policies.

Abstract:
This chapter traces the development of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) back to related constructs discussed by scholars, such as Weber, Barnard, Roethlisberger and Dickson, and Katz and Kahn, in management and organization theory from the early 20th century onward. We look at the pros and cons of the proposition that job satisfaction is a causal factor with respect to members’ contributions to organizational performance, what forms these contributions take, the rival hypotheses that could be consistent with the empirical data, the extent to which OCB has generalizability and meaning across cultures, and the issue of whether OCB at some levels and forms might have undesired effects on organizations and their members. We also take note of a closely related construct, “contextual performance,” which has emphasized the effects of personality on certain discretionary individual contributions to organizational effectiveness.

Abstract:
SummaryHedgehogs are one of the most popular wild animals in Europe, but there is a lack of knowledge among the general public about the hedgehog's way of life as well as their numbers in the wild. For example, the declines in hedgehog populations that have been taking place throughout Europe for decades, and which are particularly serious in rural areas, have mostly remained hidden from the general public. Moreover it is nearly unknown that only sustainable conservation measures can stop these population declines, and thus preserve this species. In general, the main objectives of sustainable species conservation are to secure 1) their nutrition base, 2) structures and material for nests and predation avoidance, and 3) the connectivity of the habitats of this species. Here, sustainable conservation measures for hedgehog populations are listed according to these three main objectives and separately for rural and urban habitats, and summarized in a tabular overview (Tab. 5.1).The most effective conservation measures in agricultural areas are the conversion of industrial agriculture to ecological and structured agriculture; in urban areas hedgehogs are most sustainably protected by maintaining and enhancing the quality and quantity of green spaces.Introductory, important facts about hedgehog biology are given to provide basic insights into the special requirements of this animal, which in turn is important for understanding and implementing conservation measures. Finally, monitoring methods for hedgehog populations are described e.g. in order to evaluate the impact of conservation measures.

Abstract:
AbstractRed deer can cause strong emotions and also severe damage. Red deer management should be evidence-based and hence use scientifically derived information. In this chapter, I summarize what an evidence-based red deer management should generally look like and what evidences actually exist for different aspects of red deer management. Hunting plays an important part in this, but is just one possible action to reach management goals. Similarly, the numeric control of population abundances or densities is usually just an intermediate goal in wildlife management. An evidence-based red deer management should be adaptive and hence requires a control of success, so that implementation and effect of management actions can constantly be evaluated and improved. Such a control of success is based on a long-term monitoring that considers at least the three factors population development, animal performance, and herbivore impacts. The distribution of red deer in Germany and the exchange among populations are severely impacted by legal regulations and by landscape fragmentation due to settlements and roads. The spatial isolation and associated low levels of gene flow have already led to low genetic diversity, low genetic-effective population sizes and high inbreeding values in some populations. This calls for an improvement of connectivity among red deer populations, which could be accomplished by giving up areas where red deer are not allowed to exist, and by defragmentation measures, such as wildlife corridors and crossing structures over transportation infrastructures.Red deer adjust their space-time-behavior and habitat selection to the landscape of fear, which is shaped by the perceived mortality risk, food availability and habitat structure. Disturbances by humans also play a major role in this. Scientific research shows that red deer can be steered in space and time through these factors and that such a steering can reduce conflicts. From a practical standpoint, such steering can be accomplished by a zoning concept that combines area management, locally intensive hunting and broad-scale hunting in intervals, so that red deer are kept away from certain areas while being steered into other areas. Some of the existing harvesting guidelines appear biologically implausible and their effectiveness has not sufficiently been demonstrated. Harvest planning is often based on unknown values for reproduction rates, population structures and mortalities. This leads to high uncertainties when predicting the future development of populations, calling for population-specific research to reduce these uncertainties. To reduce red deer abundances, especially adult females need to be harvested. Due to animal welfare laws, this is usually accompanied by an increased harvest of calves.Based on these evidences, I provide general guidelines for red deer management, suggest further steps for generating additional evidences, and identify remaining research needs.

Abstract:
This study examines the relationship between variables thought to have an effect on foreign trade investment (FDI) including volume of trade, GDP growth rate, trade credit risk and political stability. Specifically, this study is concerned with the 1981-2012 period in the MENA region, made up of the Middle East and North African countries of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. Another objective of the study is to determine whether economic factors are more impactful than political factors on the FDI flow to MENA countries. In order to investigate long-term relationships between the variables, three cointegration analyses were used including Pedroni, Kao and Johansen, and Fisher. Coefficients were interpreted using the FMOLS and the DOLS methods. The Holtz-Eakin Causality Test was also applied. As a result of the analysis, volume of trade was found to be the most important factor determining FDI. Economic factors were found to be more influential for FDI than political factors.

Abstract:
The incessant complaints by civil society organizations and the general public in Nigeria against exploitative charges by tour operators and travel agencies on hapless Hajj and Umrah pilgrims call for careful examination. Previously, some of these unscrupulous tour operators have hidden under the excuse of the high cost of visas to charge exorbitant fees. However, with the recent clarification from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria that both Hajj and Umrah visas are free, it is clear that some travel agencies have been exploiting Nigerian pilgrims. This chapter is conducted in order to address this issue. Consequently, the chapter attempts to provide relevant insights on Islamic tourism in Nigeria with specific emphasis on the reasons behind the high cost and variations in the prices of Umra packages among travel agencies in Kano State of Nigeria. It is an exploratory study that uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with senior officers of selected travel agencies in Kano. Findings from the study reveal that Umra pilgrims in Kano pay higher and different fares. It has also been established that there are variations in Umra prices due to some direct and indirect factors that determine Umra package fares. Consequently, it is recommended that there is a need for the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to properly regulate Umra pilgrimage like that of Hajj and to embark on an aggressive enlightenment campaign to educate potential and present Umra pilgrims on the necessary factors that affect the price of a typical Umra package and how they can identify a registered travel agency from a quack one so as to protect themselves against undue exploitation.

Abstract:
Blue ocean strategy includes a consistent pattern of strategic thinking in the creation of new markets in various industries. This chapter examines how to create a blue ocean and its role in improving the construction industry. This is library research alongwith case study. It has been prepared based on information gathered from articles published in international journals and referring to large and reputable builder companies. In the concept of strategy, “Blue Ocean” is referred to two overall scope of blue and red ocean. In this chapter, we used the Kano method for evaluation and selection of the features in the construction industry and then, through a four-step approach, it was decided what features should be removed, innovated, enhanced or improved. Finally, using improved hybrid model of Kano and the pillars of the blue ocean strategy, we concluded that economic factors and psychological factors that impact on the consumers need investment and more attention.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze customer expectations in European retail banking industry. For this purpose, five different criteria are identified. Furthermore, IT2 FDEMATEL approach is used to weight these criteria. In addition, three different factors are also defined which have a negative influence on customer satisfaction. In this context, IT2 FQUALIFLEX approach is used to rank these three alternatives. In this process, Kano model-based evaluation factors are converted into the fuzzy numbers. The findings show that the most important problem to be solved to ensure customer expectations and satisfaction is the communication problems. Therefore, European retail banks should firstly focus on solving this problem to meet customer expectations and provide customer satisfaction. These banks should employ the necessary number of personnel to provide services in different channels, such as social media, mobile banking, telebanking. Moreover, these personnel should also be trained effectively to increase the quality of communication.
