Abstract:

Por se tratar de um fenômeno complexo, a modelagem computacional tem sido utilizada na tentativa de simular o comportamento de fluxos de detritos. Um dos modelos computacionais é o Kanako-2D. O presente trabalho realizou análise de sensibilidade desse modelo em relação a alcance, área de erosão, área de deposição, área total atingida e largura do fluxo. Os valores dos parâmetros de entrada do Kanako-2D, cujas faixas de variação foram estabelecidas a partir de revisão bibliográfica, foram alterados individualmente enquanto os demais eram mantidos nos valores padrão do modelo. Os parâmetros analisados foram: diâmetro dos sedimentos, coeficiente de rugosidade de Manning, coeficiente de taxa de deposição, coeficiente de taxa de erosão, massa específica da fase fluida, massa específica do leito, concentração de sedimentos e ângulo de atrito interno. Foi utilizada uma vertente real com histórico de ocorrência de fluxos de detritos (bacia hidrográfica do arroio Böni, em Alto Feliz e São Vendelino/RS) e uma vertente hipotética com as mesmas características da vertente real para avaliar o efeito da topografia na propagação do fluxo. Também foram simuladas diferentes condições de terreno na propagação do fluxo de detritos. A sensibilidade do modelo foi quantificada a partir de três métodos: (a) análise por rastreamento, que indicou massa específica do leito, ângulo de atrito interno e concentração de sedimentos como os parâmetros que causam maior sensibilidade do modelo; (b) análise regional, indicando que os parâmetros massa específica do leito, ângulo de atrito interno e massa específica da fase fluida apresentaram maior sensibilidade do modelo; e (c) análise das variâncias, em que os parâmetros que mais causaram sensibilidade ao modelo foram coeficiente de taxa de erosão, diâmetro dos sedimentos e massa específica do leito. Os resultados apontaram que, de maneira geral, os parâmetros que geram maior sensibilidade no modelo são massa específica do leito, ângulo de atrito interno e concentração de sedimentos. As maiores variações relativas, no entanto, foram observadas nos parâmetros massa específica do leito, ângulo de atrito interno e massa específica da fase fluida. As maiores sensibilidades foram verificadas, em ordem decrescente, para área de erosão, área total, área de erosão, área de deposição, alcance e largura na vertente real e, para área total, alcance e largura na vertente hipotética. A condição de terreno que gerou maior alcance e área atingida foi de 45° de inclinação na encosta e 17° de inclinação na planície aluvial.
Due to a complex phenomenon, computational modeling has been used in an attempt to simulate the behavior of debris flows. One of the computational models is Kanako-2D. The present work carried out sensitivity analysis of this model in relation to length, erosion area, deposition area, total reached area and flow width. The values of the Kanako-2D input parameters, which ranges were established from literature review, were individually changed while the others were kept at the standard values of the model. The analyzed parameters were: sediment diameter, Manning roughness coefficient, coefficient of deposition rate, coefficient of erosion rate, mass density of the fluid phase, mass density of bed material, sediment concentration and internal friction angle. It was used a real slope-site with a history of occurrences of debris flow (Böni river basin in Alto Feliz and São Vendelino/RS) and a hypothetical slope-site with the same characteristics of the real one to evaluate the effect of the topography in the propagation of the flow. Different hillslope and alluvial fan conditions were also simulated in order to evaluate the length and reached area in the propagation of the flow. The sensitivity was quantified from three methods: (a) screening analysis, which indicated mass density of bed material, internal friction angle and sediment concentration as the parameters that cause bigger sensitivity in the model; (b) regionalized analysis, indicate that the parameters mass density of bed material, internal friction angle and mass density of the fluid phase showed higher sensitivity in the model; and (c) variances analysis, indicated that coefficient of erosion rate, sediment diameter and mass density of bed material showed higher sensitivity in the model. The results showed that, in general, the parameters that generate the higher sensitivity in the model are mass density of bed material, internal friction angle and concentration. The largest relative variation, however, in the response of the model were observed in mass density of bed material, internal friction angle and mass density of fluid phase. In descending order, the highest sensitivities were verified for erosion area, total area, deposition area, length and width for the real slope-site and total area, length and width for the hypothetical slope-site. The terrain condition that generated the largest length and reached area was 45° on the hillslope and 17º on the alluvial fan.

Abstract:

Cette recherche a pour objet d’étude les revendications médiatisées kanak de Nouvelle-Calédonie, une collectivité d’outre-mer française en processus d’autodétermination. Dans son contexte contemporain, nous définissons la notion de revendication en analysant ses processus, qui permettent notamment l’autodéfinition et l’autoreprésentation. Ces nouvelles perspectives ont engendré une dynamique de confrontations idéologiques politiques, sociales, économiques et culturelles qui contribuent au changement social. Depuis la fin des années 1960, avec l’apparition des médias des partis politiques, la médiatisation des formes de communication des Kanak s’est transformée, en raison d’une démultiplication des revendications et des processus d’identification. Dans cette perspective, une enquête de terrain, en France et en Océanie, nous a permis de croiser une approche ethnographique in situ avec une analyse discursive des interactions médiatisées sur Internet relevant des SIC. La complémentarité de ces approches entend contribuer à l’approfondissement d’une anthropologique du numérique. À l’intérieur de la sphère d’Internet, l’appropriation des dispositifs médiatiques numériques ainsi que l’autopublication des interactions médiatisées renouvellent les pratiques communicationnelles individuelles, et engendrent des débats. Certes, ces débats peuvent donner lieu à des conflits, mais aussi devenir une modalité propice à l’échange interculturel. De plus, les tactiques de communication contemporaines permettent un renouvellement des manières de participer individuelles et collectives, en créant de nouvelles formes d’engagement politique et social
This research aims to study the mediated claims of Kanak people from New Caledonia, an overseas collectivity of French in a process of self-determination. In its contemporary context, we define the notion of claim by analyzing its processes, which enable self-definition and self-representation. These new perspectives have created a dynamic of ideological political, social, economic and cultural confrontations, which contribute to social change. Since the late 1960s, with the advent of political parties' media, the mediatization of the forms of communication of Kanak people has evolved, due to a proliferation of claims and identification processes. In this perspective, a field survey in France and Oceania has allowed us to intersect an in situ ethnographic approach with a discursive analysis of mediated interactions on the Internet, covered by Communication Science. The complementarity of these approaches intends to contribute to the deepening of a digital anthropology. Within the Internet sphere, the appropriation of digital media devices, as well as the self-publishing of mediated interactions renew the individual communicational practices and generate debates. While these debates may give rise to conflicts, they may also become a favorable modality for intercultural exchange. In addition, contemporary communication tactics allow a renewal of the ways to participate individually and collectively, by creating new forms of social and political engagement

Magistro baigiamojo darbo tikslas yra įvertinus skirtingų socialinės žiniasklaidos priemonių panaudojimo kuriant integruotos marketingo komunikacijos planą efektyvumą, pateikti marketingo komunikacijos komplekso modelį, skirtą taikyti naujos internetinės drabužių ir aksesuarų jaunimui parduotuvės atvejui, komunikacijai parenkant ir integruojant tinkamas socialinės žiniasklaidos priemones. Teorinėje darbo dalyje analizuojamos rėmimo komplekso ir komunikacijos bendros naudos organizacijai, vartotojų elgsena socialinėje žiniasklaidoje bei socialinės žiniasklaidos integravimo į rėmimo kompleksą galimybės. Analitinėje baigiamojo darbo dalyje pateikiami ir analizuojami rezultatai tyrimo, atlikto statistinių informacinių technologijų Lietuvoje duomenų analizės bei anketinės apklausos apie komunikaciją socialinėje žiniasklaidoje, metu būdu. Final aim of the work is to assess the different social media tools for use in developing an integrated marketing communications plan for the effectiveness of the integrated marketing communication model for the application of a new online clothing and accessory stores, young people, communication, and choosing the appropriate integration of social media. The theoretical part of this analysis support the complex communication and mutual benefit organizations, consumer behavior in social media and social media integration to support complex capabilities. Final analytical part provides an analysis of the results of studies of statistical information technology and data analysis in Lithuania questionnaire survey on the social communication media, in a way. Part of the design assessment of the different social media tools for use in creating integrated marketing communications plan, and the effectiveness of marketing communications complex model for the application of a new online clothing and accessory stores, young people, communication, and choosing the appropriate integration of social media.

Abstract:

The thesis aims to explore and represent 'Kanak identity' multi-dimensionally through the discourses of local people, composed of three kinds of narrative, narrative of community, culture and nation. Narrative of community reveals that identity concepts at the level of traditional community are relationally and collectively oriented with the clan as its base and that its boundary is porous. Secondly, narrative of culture discloses that their identity concepts at the ethnic level are synonymous with culture based on custom and that its boundary is strategically demarcated. In these narratives of community and culture, the concepts of Kanak identity prove to be constructed dually in community and culture: while the former is the base of their identity, the latter unites fragmented Kanak society. Thirdly, narrative of nation proves that the Kanak identity claim is the key concept of their struggle for decolonization of New Caledonia to recover their rights. French colonization dehumanized the Kanak and deprived them of their rights and dignity so that they had to politically and culturally assert Kanak identity vis-a-vis France and others. While struggling for the recovery of their rights, which are conceived within the modern norm of the nation-state, they tried to restore their identity as a symbol representing the autochthonous people as a whole or as a symbol of a nation. The history of Kanak struggle for identity demonstrates how Kanak identity has been shaped and is being reshaped through the discourses of the people, which prove to be the narrative of 'emergence' and not of 'entropy', if I borrow Clifford's terminology (1988: 14, 16).

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to find out what children think they learn of taking part in activities organized by the school. I started my study by summarize three essays about informal learning. The results are based on three interviews of totally six children in the age of nine at a school in Stockholm. I interviewed the children using a semi structured method and asked them what activities they prefer to do after school and what they think they learn there, and from their friends. The results emanating from essays which were investigating similar topic.

Nees en 1985, les ecoles populaires kanak (epk) furent un analyseur des contradictions du mouvement independantiste en nouvelle-caledonie. Elles donnerent un statut nouveau a la paysannerie, aux femmes et aux enfants, ce qui genera de nombreuses resistances. Les eleves sont les moteurs d'un developpement qui part du milieu pour dynamiser le milieu. La pedagogie mise en oeuvre est proche de la pedagogie des opprimes. Pour comprendre les enjeux conscients et inconscients des epk, l'auteur analyse le processus de naissance des concepts en situation interculturelle d'entretien, invente une methode d'analyse du discours inspiree de la theorie des catastrophes, et analyse sa propre implication institutionnelle, y compris par l'ecriture poetique
Born in 1985, the kanak popular schools were an "analyser" of the contradictions of the independentist movement in newcaledonia. They offered a new status to country people, to women and to children, which engendered much resistance. Pupils constitute the moving force of a development which is generated in their environment to give energy to this environment. The pedagogy used has something to do with the pedagogy of the the oppressed. Abstract:

This is a study of Margo Kane’s creative work – Memories Springing/Waters Singing, Moonlodge and Confessions of an Indian Cowboy – as well as her Vancouver-based community work – Full Circle First Nations Performance Company and their annual Talking Stick Festival. I examine how Kane’s creative and community work can be understood in terms of postcolonial theory of performance while also further illuminating that theory. I apply Emmanuel Levinas’ philosophical concepts of Totality and Infinity and the Saying and the Said to the content of her creative work as well as its publication. I use Édouard Glissant’s poetics of relation to explain her administrative style and creative choices, particularly in Confessions of an Indian Cowboy. Postcolonial theatrical concepts including Jacqueline Lo and Helen Gilbert’s model for interculturalism and Christopher Balme’s syncretic theatre lead to an investigation of the numerous forms of movement that Kane’s work demonstrates. Through analysis of the multiple published texts of her performances as well as of an interview I conducted with Kane on the founding and continuing administration of her company and the festival, I determine how the importance of movement in her work can help the shift from a colonial to a postcolonial society.

Abstract:

The tasks of the study were as follows: to investigate histological findings of the spinal cord two hours after a trauma; to investigate the influence of the narrowing of spinal canal on the histological changes development of the injured spinal cord; to estimate the influence of the spinal cord surgical decompression performed within twenty hours after the cervical spine trauma on its clinical signs of the changes of the injury; to determinate the relationship between the duration of the cervical spinal cord compression and its clinical signs of changes of the injury. The main results: The hemorrhages in the gray matter and within the perivascular spaces of the spinal cord and beneath it dura mater, blood stasis in the vessels of the spinal cord gray matter and the thrombosis of the superficial spinal cord vessels, ischemic neurons were established in axial sections of the spinal cord two hours after the experimental trauma. The degree of pericellular edema established in axial sections of the spinal cord stained with hematoxylin and eosin by light microscopy two hours after the experimental trauma was more severe for the laboratory animals which underwent reduction of vertical diameter of the spinal canal by 50 % followed by spinal cord compression. The cervical spinal cord decompression performed within twenty four hours after trauma provided significant neurologic recovery twelve months after surgical intervention. Abstract:

The aim with this research was to determine how cancer patients (the inner group) and non-cancer patients (the listening group) experience the listening group technique. A qualitative research design was utilised. The reasons for undertaking this research were the following: Experience has indicated that the listening group technique may be an effective method to help individuals discover alternative life stories besides the dominant stories that direct their lives. Some authors have expressed the need for therapists to do research on the listening group technique to ascertain its effectiveness as a therapeutic approach. The reason for focusing specifically on cancer patients is the high incidence of cancer and the accompanying medical and psychological effects it has for the individual. Psychological interventions appear to have positive results for cancer patients. The project was announced to cancer patients and their supporters, as well as in the postgraduate Psychology classes. Six cancer patients, five supporters and ten students participated on a voluntarily basis - twelve as members of the inner group (cancer patients and supporters) and nine as members of the listening group. Eight members of the inner group were female and four were male. Their ages varied from twenty - two to sixty - two. The listening group consisted of six female and three male students, of whom seven were honours students and two were masters students. Their ages varied from twenty - one to twenty - two. The study leader and the researcher acted as facilitators during the sessions. The process covered five evenings. After the introductory session, the first two sessions were held in the first week, while the last two sessions took place during the subsequent two weeks. Each session lasted approximately two hours. The way the participants experienced the technique was determined by means of semi-structured interviews. The following five themes came to the fore on analysing the data: other perspectives that developed and growth that took place during sessions, it was a learning experience, the participants' experience of the process, the participants' experience of the procedures and application of the technique, and suggestions that the participants made. The results indicated that the listening group technique can be applied to obtain beneficial outcomes for the participants. It can, inter aha, help them to develop new perspectives about their personal dilemmas and stimulate personal growth.

Abstract:

Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie var att undersöka och få kunskap om vilken roll sociala relationer spelar i tillfrisknandet från spelberoende. Forskningsmaterialet som användes i denna studie var fyra självbiografier skrivna av personer med erfarenheter av spelberoende. Genom att läsa materialet ett flertal gånger och kategorisera ämnen som författarna skrev om identifierades fyra vanligt förekommande teman i texterna. Resultaten av att analysera de fyra teman visade att författarna alla upplevde rädsla för att skada och förlora sina familjer och/eller partners på grund av deras beroende. Denna rädsla beskrevs också som motivationen till att bryta vanan och förbli spelfri. Ett annat resultat var att författarna upplevde intensiva känslor av lättnad och befrielse när spelproblemet uppdagades inför deras närstående. Denna upplevelse identifierades också som en första vändpunkt i berättelserna och ett steg mot författarnas tillfrisknande. Andra resultat som framkom var att författarna uttrycker tacksamhet gentemot de personer som hade hållit sig vid deras sidor genom tuffa tider, även om personerna i vissa fall hade utsatt författarna för påtryckningar för att få dem att sluta spela.
The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine and gain knowledge about the role social relationships play in recovery from gambling addiction. The research material consisted of four autobiographies written by former gambling addicts. By reading the material multiple times and categorising topics the authors wrote about, four common themes within the texts were identified. The results from analysing the four themes showed that the authors all experienced fear of hurting and losing their families and/or partners due to their addiction. This fear was also described as the motivation to quitting the habit and staying free from gambling. Another result was that the authors experienced intense feelings of relief and liberation when the gambling problem was revealed to their close ones. This experience was also identified as a first turning point toward recovery in the stories. Other results were that the authors expressed thankfulness towards those people who had stayed by their sides through tough times, even though in some cases people had put pressure on the authors to make them quit gambling.

Abstract:

The purpose of this essay is to examine how same-sex couples experience the second-parent adoption process. To assist us, we have used our questions: how do the couples describe their experiences of the adoption process? Which are the couples’ stories about the experience of contact with the involved professionals? What are the opportunities and barriers for same-sex couples to start a family? How do the couples describe their experience of reactions from the community and society, and how do they think the future will look like for same-sex couples? This study has been achieved through a qualitative approach. The empirical data is based on seven semi-structured interviews with same-sex couples or pair members that want to or have had a second-parent adoption. The theory we have used for analyzing the results is phenomenology with focus on queer theory, heteronormativity, and power. We conclude that the couples’ experiences of the second-parent adoption process is that it is a long, time-consuming, and emotionally consuming process. They question why they have to go through with an adoption process. The couples think of it only as a legal security to their child. They have experienced varying treatment in the contact with professionals. The course of action has been different for all our seven couples: home insemination in Sweden, insemination at clinic in Denmark, and surrogacy in India. One clear result is that it is more difficult for gay men to start a family than for lesbians. The couples have mostly received positive responses and a lot of support from their surroundings. Despite that, they are worried about the negative view of homosexuality that is increasing in the world.
