Abstract:
Peranan karya sastera sebagai medium menyampaikan ilmu pengetahuan kepada masyarakat telah menjadi asas dalam kewujudan karya sastera. Novel kanak-kanak dihasilkan daripada persekitaran yang diambil daripada realiti kehidupan dan diolah dengan bahasa yang indah sebagai santapan pembaca. Bertitik-tolak daripada pegangan karya sastera merupakan cerminan masyarakat, perkara ini selari dengan pelbagai kes yang melibatkan kanak-kanak yang sering terpampang di dada akhbar mutakhir ini. Justeru, sebagai salah satu bidang ilmu yang turut menyumbang ke arah mendidik modal insan yang berguna, maka kajian ini dilakukan bagi menjelaskan secara kritis peranan persekitaran yang melingkungi kehidupan kanak-kanak terhadap perkembangan sahsiah dan tingkah laku kanak-kanak yang dapat dilihat dalam novel Suteki Da Ne Aleena (2013), Umairah dan Kuda Putih (2008) dan Memori Atikah (2002). Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif, iaitu kaedah kepustakaan dan kaedah analisis teks. Manakala, aspek persekitaran dalam novel dianalisis dengan menggunakan kelima-lima prinsip Teori Ekologi Bronfenbrenner (1979, 1986), iaitu mikrosistem, mesositem, ekosistem, makrosistem dan kronosistem. Dapatan kajian memperlihatkan perkembangan sahsiah, tingkah laku, emosi dan akademik kanak-kanak dipengaruhi oleh persekitaran yang berhubungan secara langsung dalam kehidupan kanak-kanak. Namun, persekitaran mikrosistem merupakan persekitaran yang paling dominan mempengaruhi kehidupan kanak-kanak. Kesimpulannya, persekitaran yang terdapat dalam novel kanak-kanak dapat dijelaskan dengan Teori Ekologi Bronfenbrenner (1979, 1986) sekali gus memberi ilmu baharu kepada masyarakat dalam mendidik kanak-kanak menjadi individu yang cemerlang dalam kehidupan.

Abstract:
Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan posisi peserta didik di Taman Kanak-kanan sebagai faktor determinan dalam pendidikan dan sikap peserta didik selama pandemi Covid-19. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian pustaka (library research) dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan data dokumentasi yang berasal dari buku-buku atau jurnal atau terbitan-terbitan terdahulu yang relevan dalam fokus kajian. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan posisi peserta didik tingkat Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) sangat penting karena pada tahap ini merupakan pondasi awal dalam membentuk karakter dan pengetahuan awal peserta didik secara formal dimana tuntutan pendidikan difokuskan pada aspek pengembangan: (1) nilai agama dan moral; (2) fisik dan motorik; (3) kognitif; (4) bahasa; (5) sosial dan emosi; (6) seni. Temuan dari penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada pendidik untuk menghadirkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan (joyful learning) selama pembelajaran daring di masa pandemic Covid-19 agar peserta didik di Taman Kanak-kanan dapat maksimal aspek perkembangannya.

Abstrak : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang dilakukan di Taman Kanak-kanan Marhamah Dan Taman Kanak-kanak Kartika I-63 Padang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa Taman Kanak-kanak. Data didapatkan dari observasi dan pengamatan yang dilakukan dilapangan. Berdasarkan analisis data kualitatif terdapat perbedaan pengaruh siswa introvert yang belajar moral melalui model bermain peran dengan model konvensional. Rata-rata skor empati siswa introvert yang belajar moral melalui model bermain peran lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional.Rata-rata siswa ekstrovert yang belajar moral melalui bermain peran dengan konvensional terdapat perbedaan yang kondusif.Bagi siswa introvert, belajar moral dengan bermain peran memberikan hasil empati lebih tinggi dari belajar moral dengan metode konvensional. Bagi siswa ektrovert, belajar moral dengan dengan bermain peran juga memberikan skor empati yang lebih tinggi daripada metode konvensional. Kata Kunci: Eksperimen, bermain peran, introvert, ekstrovert.Â

Pantun ialah sumber pemikiran, puisi dan kehidupan orang Melayu. Dalam setiap fasa kehidupan, masyarakat mengungkapkan pantun mereka secara tersendiri bagi menggambarkan fasa tersebut. Oleh itu, makalah ini mengetengahkan keindahan dan keunikan pantun dalam masyarakat Melayu. Makalah ini juga meneliti tentang keunikan pantun kanak-kanak dengan menjejaki pantun dalam semua fasa zaman kanak-kanak; semenjak kelahiran sebagai bayi, kehidupan mereka dalam buaian (selalunya dengan iringan suara ibu, kakak atau nenek, menyanyi pantun usikan) dan berterusan sepanjang zaman awal kanak-kanak dan juga diterapkan dalam permainan mereka. Dalam fasa ini, pantun digunakan dengan lebih serius dengan niat yang lebih bernas untuk menyemai apa-apa yang dianggap oleh masyarakat sebagai tingkah laku yang betul, budi bahasa dan peradaban. Hampir semua pembelajaran melalui pantun ini dilingkarkan di sekeliling rangkap berbentuk dua atau empat baris, rima ab ab dan merupakan medium terbaik yang ditawarkan oleh bahasa itu. Sementara kanak-kanak mengingati kata-kata dalam rangkap pantun itu, mereka juga mengingati pengajaran dan mesej yang terkandung di dalamnya. Pantun juga memberikan latar belakang atau metafora tentang orang muda dalam melalui kehidupan. Apabila kanak-kanak membesar, pembelajaran menjadi lebih berat kerana maknanya lebih jelas. Di samping itu, apabila perasaan mereka berkembang, pantun mengiringi lelaki dan wanita muda dengan lebih romantis dengan penampilan fungsi pantun paling terkenal yang digunakan dalam fasa ini. Perkara ini merupakan fasa utama dalam kehidupan, dan pantun menjadi medium yang digemari kerana memberikan ruang kepada semua fasa kehidupan ini.

Persediaan kanak-kanak pra-sekolah dalam lingkungan 2 hingga 6 tahun untuk menjalani pengalaman dunia sebenar amat kritikal. Sebelum memulakan persekolahan arus perdana, kanak-kanak ini sebenarnya memperlihatkan kesediaan serta perkembangan fizikal dan intelek mereka dalam pelbagai ekspresi yang boleh diukur, seperti lukisan. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti karektor lukisan kanak-kanak mengikut 4 fasa penting dalam Teori Perkembangan Artistik Lowenfeld iaitu Scribbling, Pre-Schematic, Schematic dan Realistic. 50 kanak-kanak di Bachok, Kelantan telah mengambil bahagian dalam ujian melukis berstruktur, dan lukisan mereka seterusnya dibandingkan dengan pencapaian perkembangan perseptual dan analitikal, khususnya dari segi kebolehan kanak-kanak dalam pemerhatian, menganalisa, memahami dan menzahirkan. Hasil kajian ini dijangka dapat menghubungkan perkaitan antara aktiviti artistik dengan pencapaian-pencapaian penting dalam perkembangan kamak-kanak. Children under the age of 2 to 6 years old have a critical time preparing themselves to comprehend the world around them. Before they start their formal education in the primary school, these children actually state their physical and intellectual development in many forms of assessable expression, including drawing. The objective of this study is to identify the drawing characteristics of 2 to 6 years old children to specific phases of Lowenfeld Artistic Development namely Scribbling, Pre-Schematic, Schematic and Realism. 50 children in Bachok, Kelantan were gathered to participate a structured drawing test, and the results were compared to analytical and perceptual ability especially in observation, analysing, understanding and expressing. The finding may be useful to bridge artistic activities with critical achievements of children’s development.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut mengenai bagaimana penerapan evaluasi pembelajaran anak usia dini di taman kanak-kanak dharma wanita persatuan bandar lampung. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah “Bagaimana Implementasi Evaluasi Pembelajaran Anak Usia Dini di Taman Kanak-kanak Dharma Wanita Persatuan Bandar Lampung”. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumen analisis. Data dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam Implementasi Evaluasi Pembelajaran Anak Usia Dini di Taman Kanak-kanak Dharma Wanita Persatuan Bandar Lampung menyatakan bahwa dari lima indikator ada empat indikator yang sudah terpenuhi diantaranya (1) Merumuskan atau menetapkan kegiatan (2) Menyiapkan alat atau teknik penilaian (3) Menetapkan kriteria penilaian (4) Menentukan nilai. Namun, ada satu indikator yang belum terpenuhi yaitu mengumpulkan data. Pendidik kurang untuk mengumpulkan data hasil kegiatan pembelajaran. Seharusnya secara rutin pendidik mengumpulkan data hasil kegiatan pembelajaran pada peserta didik yang telah dilakukan. Pada umumnya, apabila kita mengamati lukisan kanak-kanak, kesan yang ditimbulkan oleh coretancoretan mereka adalah tidak menentu dan kadang kala menimbulkan kelucuan dan naif dimana coretancoretan tersebut tidak pernah dirancang sebelumnya, tetapi merupakan akibat yang spontan dari ekspresi yang bebas dan gurisan yang polos dengan bentuk-bentuk dan warna-warna yang selaras dengan kata hatinya. Kebebasan dan kemurnian yang dimiliki kanak-kanak adalah sangat dominan baik dalam coretan, bentuk objek, warna dan komposisinya sehingga sering dikatakan bahawa seni lukis kanak-kanak merupakan lukisan yang paling murni kerana masih belum terpengaruh seperti orang dewasa. Di sebalik lukisannya itu, apabila kita memperhatikan secara teliti, kita dapati nilai-nilai artistik dan estetik bahkan mempunyai sifat-sifat dan ciri-ciri yang abstrak. In general, when we observe children’s drawings, the impact caused by the graffiti they are unpredictable and sometimes create humor and naive where graffiti was never designed before, but the result of a spontaneous free expression and record the plain forms and colors in accordance with their conscience. Freedom and purity of children are very dominant both in snippets, object shape, color and composition so that it is often said that children’s painting is a painting of the most pure because they have not been affected as adults. Behind their paintings, when we look closely, we find artistic and aesthetic values even have the characteristics of the abstract.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the links between ethnic discrimination, housing discrimination, and the ethnic composition of neighborhoods at a specific spatial level, that of the city quarter. Our goal is to determine whether discrimination exacerbates residential segregation. We measure discrimination and access to housing in Greater Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia, by ethnic background, distinguishing between the people of Kanak (the indigenous people) and those of European descent. Between October 2015 and February 2016, four applicants individually responded to 342 real-estate rental ads, made a total of 1,368 responses. Two of the applicants made their Kanak origin known through their surnames, while two others similarly made their European origin known. In each pairing, an applicant signaled financial and professional stability by explicitly indicating that he was a civil servant. A particularity of the study was to analyze these data statistically by crossing it with the ethnic distribution of neighborhoods. Severe discrimination regarding access to private rental housing for Kanak applicants in all neighborhoods was found. Signaling stability strongly reduced discrimination against Kanak applicants. This discrimination is linked to the behavior of landlords and, to a lesser extent, to the actions of real-estate agencies. The difficulties accessing housing are solely due to discrimination linked to the social precariousness of Kanaks in neighborhoods where Kanaks are most represented. They are also linked to ethnic discrimination against Kanaks in neighborhoods dominated by Europeans. Housing providers thus play an active role in residential segregation.

<p><em>Abstrak</em><strong> - </strong><strong>Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran di TK. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah lembaga pendidikan anak Taman Kanak-kanak sebanyak 3 lembaga yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik <em>purposive sampling.</em></strong><strong> </strong><strong>Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran yang dilakukan di tiga TK di wilayah Kapuk, Cengkareng, Jakarta Barat tidak hanya penilaian harian tetapi juga melakukan penilaian semester yang dilaksanakan pada akhir semester pembelajaran, dalam waktu 2 minggu dengan durasi kegiatan 1 – 1 ½ jam untuk setiap rombongan belajar. Setiap kelompok diberi tugas berupa beberapa lembar kerja yang berisi materi sesuai aspek perkembangan anak yang merupakan kumpulan dari materi-materi pada setiap tema yang telah dibahas sebelumnya. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa 1) penilaian semester yang dilakukan di ketiga TK belum menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan prinsip-prinsip penilaian pembelajaran di TK, yaitu prinsip alami dan bermakna, otentik, holistik, individual serta multisumber dan multikonteks; 2). Guru belum memahami betul subyek penilaian yaitu anak TK usia 4-6 tahun, sehingga memberikan materi soal yang sama antara anak kelompok A dengan anak kelompok B; 3). Pemahaman mengenai sasaran penilaian masih kurang, dimana aspek yang dinilai lebih banyak pada aspek kognitif dan bahasa, serta penggunaan metode pengumpulan data berupa alat penilaian yang lebih dominan menggunakan alat penilaian tes berupa lembar kerja anak; dan 4). Pelaksanaan penilaian pembelajaran khususnya penilaian semester tidak berdampak langsung pada penentuan pembelajaran selanjutnya. The subjects were kindergarten teachers from 3 different institution in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta area. Purposive sampling was chosen as a tool for sample selection.The research revealed that the implementation of learning assesment in Kapuk, Cengkareng area, not only do per day but also per semester, which conducted at the end of semester, within 2 weeks, with duration of action 1- 1 ½ hour for each learning group. Each group was given a task in a form of worksheets which comprised developmentally appropriate lessons according the themes that has been given before. The conclusion is the assesment which has been conducted in 3 kindergarten has not indicated the congruity with learning principles in kindergarten, namely as principles of natural and meaningful, authentic, holistic individualized, resourceful and and multi context; 2) teachers has lack in understanding assesment of the children in age 4-6 years therefore the teacher has given the same matter in grup A and B; 3)Teachers also has lack of understanding about the purpose of the assesment and therefore they more focus on cognitive and language mastery and using test in a form of worksheets than other form; 4) Learning assesment, especially semesterly, has not direct impact on determining the following lessons. Setiap perkembangan kanak-kanak yang berlaku perlu diambil perhatian dari pelbagai aspek oleh kedua ibu bapa mahupun setiap orang yang terdekat dengan kanak-kanak tersebut. Perasaan yang mengikat kita dengan orang-orang penting dalam hidup kita sering disebut dan dikenali sebagai ‘ikatan emosi’. Kegagalan dalam perkembangan kanak-kanak itu sebenarnya akan menjejaskan masa hadapan mereka. Kanak-kanak mula mengembangkan emosi mereka semasa peringkat bayi, yang berlangsung kira-kira sejak lahir hingga usia dua tahun. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan di antara emosi ibu bapa dengan kanak-kanak dan kepentingannya terhadap perkembangan awal kanak-kanak. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa faktor ibu bapa mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan emosi kanak-kanak. Faktor yang dikenal pasti menyumbang kepada perkembangan kanak-kanak adalah termasuk dengan peranan dan gaya keibubapaan. Kesimpulannya terdapat hubung kait antara emosi ibu bapa dengan perkembangan awal kanak-kanak.

Cette recherche a pour objet d’étude les revendications médiatisées kanak de Nouvelle-Calédonie, une collectivité d’outre-mer française en processus d’autodétermination. Dans son contexte contemporain, nous définissons la notion de revendication en analysant ses processus, qui permettent notamment l’autodéfinition et l’autoreprésentation. Ces nouvelles perspectives ont engendré une dynamique de confrontations idéologiques politiques, sociales, économiques et culturelles qui contribuent au changement social. Depuis la fin des années 1960, avec l’apparition des médias des partis politiques, la médiatisation des formes de communication des Kanak s’est transformée, en raison d’une démultiplication des revendications et des processus d’identification. Dans cette perspective, une enquête de terrain, en France et en Océanie, nous a permis de croiser une approche ethnographique in situ avec une analyse discursive des interactions médiatisées sur Internet relevant des SIC. La complémentarité de ces approches entend contribuer à l’approfondissement d’une anthropologique du numérique. À l’intérieur de la sphère d’Internet, l’appropriation des dispositifs médiatiques numériques ainsi que l’autopublication des interactions médiatisées renouvellent les pratiques communicationnelles individuelles, et engendrent des débats. Certes, ces débats peuvent donner lieu à des conflits, mais aussi devenir une modalité propice à l’échange interculturel. De plus, les tactiques de communication contemporaines permettent un renouvellement des manières de participer individuelles et collectives, en créant de nouvelles formes d’engagement politique et social
This research aims to study the mediated claims of Kanak people from New Caledonia, an overseas collectivity of French in a process of self-determination. In its contemporary context, we define the notion of claim by analyzing its processes, which enable self-definition and self-representation. These new perspectives have created a dynamic of ideological political, social, economic and cultural confrontations, which contribute to social change. Since the late 1960s, with the advent of political parties' media, the mediatization of the forms of communication of Kanak people has evolved, due to a proliferation of claims and identification processes. In this perspective, a field survey in France and Oceania has allowed us to intersect an in situ ethnographic approach with a discursive analysis of mediated interactions on the Internet, covered by Communication Science. The complementarity of these approaches intends to contribute to the deepening of a digital anthropology. Within the Internet sphere, the appropriation of digital media devices, as well as the self-publishing of mediated interactions renew the individual communicational practices and generate debates. While these debates may give rise to conflicts, they may also become a favorable modality for intercultural exchange. In addition, contemporary communication tactics allow a renewal of the ways to participate individually and collectively, by creating new forms of social and political engagement

Abstract:
The thesis aims to explore and represent 'Kanak identity' multi-dimensionally through the discourses of local people, composed of three kinds of narrative, narrative of community, culture and nation. Narrative of community reveals that identity concepts at the level of traditional community are relationally and collectively oriented with the clan as its base and that its boundary is porous. Secondly, narrative of culture discloses that their identity concepts at the ethnic level are synonymous with culture based on custom and that its boundary is strategically demarcated. In these narratives of community and culture, the concepts of Kanak identity prove to be constructed dually in community and culture: while the former is the base of their identity, the latter unites fragmented Kanak society. Thirdly, narrative of nation proves that the Kanak identity claim is the key concept of their struggle for decolonization of New Caledonia to recover their rights. French colonization dehumanized the Kanak and deprived them of their rights and dignity so that they had to politically and culturally assert Kanak identity vis-a-vis France and others. While struggling for the recovery of their rights, which are conceived within the modern norm of the nation-state, they tried to restore their identity as a symbol representing the autochthonous people as a whole or as a symbol of a nation. The history of Kanak struggle for identity demonstrates how Kanak identity has been shaped and is being reshaped through the discourses of the people, which prove to be the narrative of 'emergence' and not of 'entropy', if I borrow Clifford's terminology (1988: 14, 16).

Born in 1985, the kanak popular schools were an "analyser" of the contradictions of the independentist movement in newcaledonia. They offered a new status to country people, to women and to children, which engendered much resistance. Pupils constitute the moving force of a development which is generated in their environment to give energy to this environment. The pedagogy used has something to do with the pedagogy of the the oppressed. In order to undestand what is, consciously or unconsciously, at stake in the kanak popular schools, the autor placing himself in a position of intercultural interview, analyses the process of genesis of the concepts, invents a method of speech analysis about official reports of the kanak popular schools inspired by the theory of catastrophes, and analyses his own institutional implication, including through poetic writing

Depuis la prise de possession de l'ile au nom de la france en 1853 jusqu'a la fin des annees 1980, la vie politique, institutionnelle et sociale de la nouvelle-caledonie a ete marquee par le reveil ethnique des melanesiens marginalises par une societe a deux vitesses. La marche vers la revolte du " peuple kanak " a contribue a fissurer le carcan de l'indivisibilite de la republique francaise. La france, enlisee dans le dossier caledonien, a ete confrontee, d'une part, aux revendications identitaires des kanak independantistes, d'autre part, au desir des autres communautes vivant sur le territoire de demeurer au sein de la " mere patrie ". Le " confetti " caledonien, aux prises avec la guerre civile dans les annees 1980, a souleve le probleme du devenir du dogme de l'unite territoriale de la republique francaise et, par-dela meme, celui de la pertinence de la politique de la metropole menee a l'egard de ses possessions ultra-marines. Toutefois, le 26 juin 1988 etaient signes par l'etat, le rassemblement pour la caledonie dans la republique ( le rpcr, le parti favorable au maintien de la nouvelle-caledonie dans le giron de la republique francaise ), le front de liberation nationale kanak socialiste ( le flnks, organisation independantiste ), les accords de matignon-oudinot retablissant ainsi la paix sur le territoire grace a un dispositif politique et institutionnel mettant en place sur le " caillou " une societe plus egalitaire. La voie consensuelle ainsi amorcee, la question de l'avenir statutaire de la nouvelle-caledonie etait renvoyee en 1998 par l'intermediaire d'un scrutin d'autodetermination. Le 21 avril 1998, cependant une " solution consensuelle " est venue se substituer a ce " referendum-couperet ". Au terme d'une evolution statutaire chaotique, la nouvelle-caledonie semble etre sur le chemin de son emancipation politique.

Symbole de la « renaissance culturelle kanak », le festival d’arts mélanésiens de Nouvelle-Calédonie, Mélanésia 2000, vient de fêter en 2015 son quarantième anniversaire. Cette manifestation a vraisemblablement constitué le ferment culturaliste de la revendication nationaliste qui, dans les années 1980, parvint à ériger la coutume en symbole unificateur du peuple kanak, contre le statu quo colonial. Engagée depuis plus de deux décennies dans un processus de décolonisation – dont l’issue politique et institutionnelle demeure incertaine –, la Nouvelle-Calédonie connaît les effets d’une politique de rééquilibrage au profit du peuple autochtone, notamment sous la forme d’une valorisation sans précédent de l’identité culturelle kanak, d’une sauvegarde des patrimoines traditionnels matériel et immatériel, et d’une action soutenue en faveur du développement culturel et de la création artistique à dimension océanienne.Il convient de retracer la genèse de cette « renaissance identitaire », à la lumière des débats épistémologiques qui ont agité l’anthropologie océaniste de l’époque, notamment autour des questions de la (ré)invention des traditions, et de leur utilisation à des fins de conscientisation identitaire et de mobilisation politique. Plus encore, le travail des sciences sociales – et de l’anthropologie en particulier – permet d’inscrire dans une perspective historique le processus, toujours en cours, d’édification des cultures en tant qu’identités collectives objectivées, données à voir, et sanctifiées (ou non) par une reconnaissance officielle et une inscription à l’intérieur de l’espace public. Avec l’émergence d’un nouveau champ social, qui prend en charge cette « gestion du symbolique » (Dubois, 1999), une recherche ethnographique menée auprès des acteurs sociaux permet de montrer en quoi les représentations de l’identité kanak, qui furent longtemps l’apanage de militants autochtones et d’intellectuels engagés, incombent désormais à une catégorie constituée de professionnels de la culture, de l’art, et du patrimoine.Au final, cette étude largement rétrospective entend contribuer à une compréhension à la fois épistémologique et sociologique du changement social et culturel en Nouvelle-Calédonie, depuis la conversion d’une crispation identitaire nationaliste (1975-1988) jusqu’au projet multiculturel d’une « communauté de destin » induit par la mise en œuvre de l’accord de Nouméa (1998-2018)
A symbol of “Kanak culture revival”, the festival of Melanesian arts Melanesia 2000 has just celebrated in 2015 its 40th anniversary. This event was in all likelihood the cultural catalyst for the nationalist movement which in the 1980’s successfully established la coutume (“kastom”) as a unifying symbol for the Kanak people in opposition to the colonial status quo. Having been engaged for more than two decades in a process of decolonization – the political and constitutional outcome of which remains uncertain – New Caledonia is now experiencing the effects of a policy of rebalancing in favour of the indigenous people, notably in the form of an unprecedented appreciation of Kanak cultural identity, the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage and the active promotion of cultural development and artistic creation within a wider Pacific cultural context.It is important to retrace the genesis of the “Kanak renaissance” in light of the epistemological discussions that animated Oceanian anthropology in the period, especially the debates around the (re)invention of traditions and their instrumentalization to promote identity consciousness and political mobilization. The social sciences – and especially anthropology – make it possible to place in historical perspective the ongoing process of the making of cultures as collective identities that are objectified, put on display and sanctified (or not) through their official recognition and inscription within the public arena. With the emergence of a new cultural field entirely dedicated to “the management of symbols” (Dubois, 1999), ethnographical research carried out with the social actors makes it possible to show that the representations of Kanak identity that were for a long time the domain of indigenous militants and engaged intellectuals are now the domain of curators and managers of art and cultural heritage.Finally, this largely retrospective study aims at a better epistemological and sociological understanding of social and cultural change in New Caledonia in the period since the hardening of Kanak nationalism (1975-1988) up until the multi-cultural project for a “shared future” brought about by the application of the Noumea Accord (1998-2018)

Depuis près de 70 ans, le peuple kanak est passé du monde invisible au monde visible. Invisible car jusqu’en 1946, les Kanak, peuple autochtone de Nouvelle-Calédonie, étaient cantonnés dans des réserves à l’écart du regard occidental. Face à un peuple viscéralement attaché à sa terre d’origine, l’Administration coloniale avait fait le choix de s’imposer par la maîtrise de l’espace. En réponse à cette stratégie de soumission spatiale, la fin du statut de l’Indigénat en 1946 révèle l’ambition d’un peuple de recouvrer son identité territoriale. Pour y parvenir, les Kanaks vont devoir emprunter de nouveaux chemins. Ce travail de recherche propose d’analyser les différents types de recomposition des territoires kanak (électoraux, coutumiers, économiques et urbains) et de mettre en perspectives les interrelations qui animent ces transformations. Ces recompositions prises dans leur ensemble participent-elles à un phénomène plus global de reconquête de l’espace néocalédonien ? Si aujourd’hui, le rôle central et incontournable des territoires kanak au sein de la société néo-calédonienne post-coloniale a été consacré par les Accords de Matignon (1988) et de Nouméa (1998), cette thèse s’interroge plus généralement sur la dimension territoriale du processus de décolonisation
For almost 70 years, the Kanak people have moved from the world of the invisible to the world of the visible. Invisible, for until 1946, the Kanaks - aboriginal people of New Caledonia - were parked into reservations, kept away from the Western mind. Dealing with a people that were fundamentaly linked to their originary land, the colonial administration had made a choice of imposing itself through land management. In answer to this spatial soumission, the end of the « indigénat » status in 1946 revealed a people’s ambition to recover their territorial identity. In order to reach it, the Kanak people will have to take new paths. This research work proposes an analysis of the different types of reconfiguration concerning the Kanak territories (electoral, customary, economics and urban) and put in perspective the interrelationships that animate these transformations. Are these land reconfigurations, in the broadest sense of the term, participating to a more general phenomenon of reconquest of the New Caledonian space ? If today, the main role of the Kanak territories into the post-colonial Caledonian society has undoubtedly been established by the Matignon Accords (1988) and the Noumea Accords (1998), this thesis is more broadly giving thought to the territorial dimension inside the decolonisation process

Dès ce premier ouvrage s'amorce une problématique centrée sur le combat anticolonialiste et sur la revendication identitaire. C'est paradoxalement par l'usage de la langue de domination, la langue française, que la société kanak va pouvoir se réapproprier ses valeurs. Les auteurs sont dans une position ambigüe : revendicateurs d'une identité culturelle tout en tendant vers l'interculturalité. Nous sommes en présence d'une littérature où transparait inévitablement la coexistence de plusieurs cultures. Cette interculturalité crée alors un espace d'échange, et donne à voir une autre manière d'être au monde

Tandis que le progrès scientifique offre des perspectives insoupçonnables, les contraintes de l'industrialisation, de l'urbanisation et des technologies modernes, ne cessent de faire reculer le domaine de l'immatériel et du spirituel. Longtemps épargnée, l'Océanie reste encore un espace privilégié où l'imprégnation des traditions ancestrales et de la nature est restée vivace et signifiante. « L'Imaginaire dans les mythes canaques » constitue le sujet de notre recherche, l'ouverture d'un champ exploratoire inédit qui nous conduit à la révélation du « réel caché » fonde cette démarche. L'apport des études et recherches des premiers missionnaires, linguistes et ethnologues a fourni un ensemble de données et de mythes qui décrivent et interprètent l'organisation de la société canaque, ses moeurs et ses traditions. Les investigations de l'ethnologie traditionnelle sont restées distantes des théories et découvertes de l'Imaginaire dont Freud, Bachelard et Jung furent les précurseurs. Nous convoquerons les méthodes d'analyse et d'investigation de l'inconscient collectif et de la psychologie des profondeurs, pour les adapter au domaine de la mythologie canaque. La réalisation d'un corpus de mythes collectés aux débuts de la colonisation explicite la composition structurelle de chaque récit, élabore leur fiche d'identification génétique, et imagine une méthode nouvelle d'exploration de l'univers des mythes. La mise en œuvre de la mythocritique de Gilbert Durand, adaptée et complétée par la mythanalyse, réalise une mythodologie exploratoire de l'Imaginaire du « sermo mythicus ». Constellations d'images, symboles et archétypes décryptés dans ces anciens récits mythiques, en révèlent la sémantique profonde, ainsi que des archétypes qui rejoignent l'universel. While scientific progress offers unimaginable opportunities, constraints of industrialization, urbanization and modern technology never cease to reverse the field of the intangible and spiritual. Long spared Oceania remains a privileged space where the impregnation of traditions and nature remained alive and meaningful. “Imagination in Kanak myths” is the subject of our research, the opening of a novel exploratory field which leads to the revelation of the “Real hidden” bases this approach. The contribution of the study and research of the first missionaries, linguists and anthropologists has provided a set of data and myths that describe and interpret the organization of the Kanak society, its customs and traditions. Investigations of ethnology remained away from traditional theories and discoveries of the Imaginary Freud, Jung and Bachelard were precursors. We will call the methods of analysis and investigation of the collective unconscious and depth psychology, to fit the field of mythology Kanak. The implementation of a corpus of myths collected at the beginning of colonization, explains the structural composition of each story, which develops their “genetic identification card”, and imagine a new method of exploring the world of myths. Implementation of “mythocritic” Gilbert Durand adapted and supplemented by mythanalysis, performs an exploratory mythodologie of the imaginary of " sermo mythicus". Constellations of images, symbols and archetypes decrypted in these ancient myths, then reveal the deep semantic as well as joining the universal archetypes. Our aim is to highlight the relevance of previous theories that have revolutionized such fields as psychology, philosophy, and literature up and opening new horizons for the interpretation of oral traditions which are major among the most old Oceania, and to confirm their rich symbolism and their contribution to the knowledge of Anthropos that Leenhard had emphasized

AbstractNew Caledonia-Kanaky has operated customary and European models of land tenure in parallel for almost 170 years, since the early days of colonisation when francophone governance was imposed to enable settlement, and Kanak populations on prime agricultural were forcibly displaced onto “reserves”. This “historic dualism” has been at the heart of lengthy political discussion and the demands of the Kanak independence movement to reclaim its land and sovereignty. While debates about the development of customary land continue in times of political uncertainty, since the late 1970s re-allocation of land to Kanak clans by the state, latterly through the Agence de développement rural et d’aménagement foncier (ADRAF), has been substantial. We assess this process, offering two examples from the Northern Province where land conflicts remain and where “modern” development has taken place on customary land now controlled by clans, under their stewardship. This partial integration into the market economy has addressed many, but not all, of the problems of “historic dualism”.

AbstractFrom the Matignon-Oudinot Accords of 1988 onwards, the pro-independence parties agreed to play the economic development game proposed by the State in order to reduce the glaring inequalities between Indigenous Kanaks and non-Kanaks. The FLNKS (Front de Libération Nationale Kanak et Socialiste) took up the challenge in two of the three provinces, where Kanak people were in the majority, and the pro-independence coalition tried to establish a form of economic sovereignty by claiming partial public control of the “country’s” main resource, nickel. The story of the stages of this mining nationalism, which enabled the pro-independence movement to gain a foothold in a reconfigured nickel sector (despite encountering opposition both in the economic and the local political arena), aims to measure the road still to be travelled by FLNKS to achieve decolonisation. This could be in harmony with the foundation of a new national community of citizens, one that would be more autonomous vis-à-vis metropolitan France and in which the Kanaks would be fully included.

AbstractThis chapter – co-authored by two Kanak knowledge holders (a clan chief and a singer-songwriter) and two European researchers (from political science and geography) – discusses how Kanak communities deal with cultural heritage in the present, in a context of colonial legacies, institutional conservatism and depleting natural resources. We focus specifically on the communities of Bako and Touaourou in Paicî Cèmuhi and Drubea-Kapumë countries, respectively. We first analyse colonial policies of land dispossession and cultural oppression, as well as the ongoing inadequate support for Kanak languages from school institutions. We then discuss the ways in which grassroots initiatives testify to resilient and resurgent spaces for Kanak languages and cultural heritage in such contexts, by taking the example of (1) the work of the Agency for the Development of Kanak Culture (ADCK) to record oral histories, myths and toponyms as important identity markers and (2) Kaneka music as a contemporary transmitter of Kanak languages and cultural practices. In addition to the collection of toponyms in Kanak communities, Kaneka music is popular amongst young people and elders. Bands such as Humaa-gué from Touaourou provide songs engaging with colonial history, Kanak cultural life and practices, the mining industry and current sociopolitical issues. We draw the conclusion that the educational institution responds inadequately to Kanak needs, and initiatives undertaken by Kanak people at the grassroots level are key to the continuance of Kanak languages, cultural heritage and practices.

AbstractThe reconfiguration of New Caledonian schools and curricula seems to be essential in times of complex political and environmental changes. It should rehabilitate the memory of the Indigenous Kanak cultures and genealogical itineraries. Six fundamental elements of Kanak culture (éléments fondamentaux de la culture Kanak, or EFCK) are therefore currently integrated into school curricula following their official introduction in 2016 in the New Caledonian Education Project (PENC). Their implementation in schooling contributes to innovative teaching and teacher training techniques and will progressively lead to socio-school rebalancing. The transfer of Indigenous Kanak knowledge into so-called academic contexts can contribute to a greater balance between humans and their environment. Based on qualitative methods in human and social sciences, I will demonstrate the possibilities for teaching Indigenous knowledge and life skills. Examples for the transposition of Kanak knowledge and cultural practices include the Aengeni hnameneng ceremony on Maré island and a yam calendar produced by teacher candidates in their second year of training. I conclude that schools and universities should encourage teachers, teacher candidates, educators, and students to critically reflect the didactic resources of Kanak and Oceanic cultures.

AbstractNew Caledonia has 28 Kanak languages in addition to the languages brought by colonial immigration. There is remarkable linguistic diversity, and the recognition of Kanak languages has always been central to independence claims. Since the mid-2000s, about ten of them have been taught from primary school to university (about ten of them are taught as options in primary schools and only four in universities), and it is important to ask what future Kanak languages have among today’s younger generations. The heavy impact of the colonial system, and the Nouméa Accord of 1998, means questions of language are still relevant today. Kanak languages and cultures are at the centre of the decolonisation process.

AbstractIn this chapter, we examine the main transformations that have marked Kanak family farming and describe in particular the ways that monetarisation and globalisation have influenced Kanak custom. First, we briefly recall the historical foundations of Kanak family farming. We then describe the transformations that have swept through it: changes in the functions associated with Kanak family farming, the magnitude, the technical evolutions and the methods of deriving value from products obtained from agricultural activities, hunting and fishing, embedded in wider relationships of exchange and territorial anchoring. We go on to explore the sustainability of the non-commercial dimension of these activities. We conclude with lessons we can learn from the practice of family farming in order to think about its place and its contribution to the rural New Caledonian world and more broadly in future economic models.

AbstractDuring the entire period of the “Code de l’Indigénat” (Indigenous Code applied between 1887 and 1946), the Indigenous Kanak people were excluded from the capital city of the New Caledonian archipelago. With this city ban, the colonial administration contributed to the long-term marginalisation of the Kanak presence in Nouméa. In the aftermath of World War II and after the departure of American troops from the territory (1946), Nouméa resembled a small French regional town, without any real Pacific identity, and was thus nicknamed “White Nouméa” (in French “Nouméa la Blanche”). There was no sign at that time of the extraordinary demographic shift that would be underway in New Caledonia, and more specifically in the city of Nouméa, throughout the second half of the twentieth century.This urban expansion was accompanied by ethnic redistribution in the city. After the institutional process of decolonisation that lasted for almost 20 years, the Kanak presence in the city (one inhabitant in four) became indisputable from a demographic point of view. Yet, the continuing urban marginalisation of Kanak people shows the limits of the framework that was extolled on signing the Nouméa Accord (1998) for living together and sharing a “common destiny”. The persistence of acute spatial, social and political inequalities raises the question of the place of the Indigenous people in Nouméa today.

Cerminan sikap dan perasaan seorang guru terhadap pekerjaannya tercermin dari kepuasan kerja dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di sesolah. Kepuasan kerja seorang guru dapat disebabkan oleh kerelasian kerja, komunikasi, dan lingkungan kerja yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji pengaruh kerelasian kerja, komunikasi, dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja guru dengan subjek penelitian guru TK di Kecamatan Bungbulang Garut. Kuntitatif adalah metode penelitian yang digunakan dengan pendekatan deskriptif verifikatif. Penelitian ini mempergunakan alat analisis regresi linear berganda. Sample sebanyak 81 orang diperoleh dari populasi dengan menggunakan metode slovin dengan 0,05 standard error. Data diperoleh dengan menyebarkan kuesioner dengan 31 butir pertanyaan, random sampling digunakan sebagai penentuan data. Hasil menunjukkan secara deskriptif bahwa kepuasan kerja dipersepsikan menjadi variabel terkecil rata-rata dengan kategori baik. Hasil secara verifikatif menunjukkan bahwa kerelasian, komunikasi, dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap kepuasan kerja.

Kavşak içinde memba ve mansap derinliklerinin bilinmesi oluşacak yük kaybının hesaplanabilmesi açısından önem arz etmektedir. İzmir Kâtip Çelebi Üniversitesi Hidrolik Laboratuvarı’nda bulunan deney düzeneği üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiş bu çalışmada,yan kollardan gelen debi sabit tutularak mansap derinliği değiştirilerek yan kollar ve ana kanal boyunca akım derinlikleri ölçülmüştür. Simetrik 90° açıyla birleşen yan kolların genişliği 1 m, ana kanalın genişliği ise 2 m olup yan kollar ile ana kanalın taban kotları eşit olacak şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Akım derinlikleri, limnimetre vasıtasıyla ölçülmüş olup önce taban kotları ölçülmüş, daha sonra su yüzey kotları ölçülmüştür. Ölçümler, ana kanalda, her 50 cm’de bir, yan kollarda ise her 25 cm’de bir yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, ana kanalda Froude sayıları 1’den küçük olup akım, nehir rejiminde olmuştur. Bu çalışmada sağ kolun debisi 29,61 l/s, sol kolun debisi 20 l/s olup ana kanaldaki toplam debi 49,61 l/s’dir. Mansap kısmında bulunan kapak vasıtasıyla mansap akım derinliği ayarlanmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen deneylerde mansap akım derinliği sırasıyla 9,3 cm 12,60 cm ve 15,35 cm olacak şekilde ayarlanmıştır. Bu koşullarda kavşak birleşim noktasında derinlik sırasıyla, 9,8 cm, 12,8 cm ve 15,75 cm olmuştur. Her 3 deneyde de ana kanalda H2 profili gözlenmiş ve kavşak birleşim noktasındaki derinlik mansap derinliğinden daha fazla olmuştur. Yan kol ve ana kanal debileri arasındaki oran ile akım derinlikleri arasındaki ilişki literatür ışığında incelenmiştir. Deneylerde taban eğimi 0 ve y>ycr olup çalışmalar nehir rejiminde yapıldığından H2 profili gözlemlenmiştir. Su yüzey profillerinde eğimler birbirine paralellik göstermiştir. Mansaptaki derinliğinin artması, su seviyesi ortalamasını artırmıştır.

A person with tetraplegia has lost the ability to willfully control his/her arms and legs, usually due to a severe spinal cord injury. Existing technologies using head motion or puffs of breath to control device movement promise increased mobility and the possibility of expanding recreational activities in a variety of forms to this population. Lack of access to rehabilitative services and engaging recreational activity fosters inactivity. This often creates an environment that causes individuals with physical disabilities to experience reduced function and mobility beyond the cause of their disability, and further disengages them from society 1. Tarihsel olarak çeşitli göç hareketlerinden etkilenen Türkiye, bugün eş zamanlı olarak hem göç veren kaynak ülke hem göç alan hedef ülke hem de göçlere geçiş güzergâhı olarak transit ülke pozisyonundadır. Bununla birlikte, Türkiye ekonomisindeki göçmen iş gücünün durumu, çeşitli risk ve fırsatların birlikte ele alınmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Zira göçmenlerin çoğunlukla tarım, sanayi ve hizmet sektörlerinde kayıt dışı istihdama yönelmesi, yerel halkın istihdam olanaklarının daralmasına; söz konusu sektörlerde ücret düşüşleri ve iş kayıplarının yaşanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Diğer taraftan, ekonomik ve kültürel sermaye sahibi göçmenlerin iş yaşamına dâhil oluşu ve gerçekleştirdikleri yatırımlar, ülke ekonomisine katma değer oluşturmanın yanında hem yeni istihdam alanlarının geliştirilmesi hem de nitelikli iş gücü ihtiyacının karşılanmasına yönelik önemli katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda elinizdeki metinde, ülkemizdeki göçmen iş gücüne ilişkin verilerden hareketle, entegrasyonun gerçekleşmesinde belirleyici bir parametre olan nitelikli göçmenlerin çalışma yaşamına uyumları risk ve fırsatlar temelinde irdelenerek somut politika önerilerine yer verilecektir.
