Abstract:
The spotlight exposes my presence. I feel as if I have all of the power on stage. The words linger in my mind as though a dart has been thrown into my heart. I stop and think. How can such a loving girl go through the misfortunate events that Julia goes through for her unfaithful boyfriend? Hatred enters my heart and a small lump forms in my throat, despite the fact that I am in front of an audience performing the role of Julia from Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona. I feel her pain and her anger. Part of me wants to run offstage because I no longer want to portray a heartbroken girl, but another part of me wants to stay and complete the play for my audience, and for Julia.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this paper we consider singular perturbations of the quadratic polynomial $F(z) = z^2 + c$ where $c$ is the center of a hyperbolic component of the Mandelbrot set, i.e., rational maps of the form $z^2 + c + \lambda /z^2$. We show that, as $\lambda \rightarrow 0$, the Julia sets of these maps converge in the Hausdorff topology to the filled Julia set of the quadratic map $z^2 + c$. When $c$ lies in a hyperbolic component of the Mandelbrot set but not at its center, the situation is much simpler and the Julia sets do not converge to the filled Julia set of $z^2 + c$.

Abstract:
This article examine the past study of fuzzy Mandelbrot set and fuzzy superior Mandelbrot set, then give the definition of fuzzy Julia sets and fuzzy superior Julia sets with the idea of utilizing membership functions to represent the escape velocity of Julia sets or superior Julia sets of each complex number in the definition of fuzzy Mandelbrot set and fuzzy superior Mandelbrot set inherited while the membership functions are selected to distinguish complex numbers with different escape velocity and same orbit. Then some examples of fuzzy Julia sets and fuzzy superior Julia sets are presented. With some observation of the examples, some analytical and topological properties of fuzzy Julia sets are demonstrated and sketches of the proofs are also presented. In the part of fuzzy superior Julia sets, some trivial conclusions as well as an example is presented where more complicated properties which involves the study into very chaotic behaviors are left open.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the gastronomic discourse in the film “Julie and Julia”. It is characterized by the time and space categories. The first comprises time needed to fulfill tasks such as to cook, to prepare for events, to write blog entries, as well as the waiting time and time associated with gastronomic habits. The latter includes restaurants, the cooking school, kitchens, houses, Julia’s office. Lexico-semantic peculiarities of the gastronomic discourse in the film cover names of dishes (varying from one-word name to collocations including either ingredients or proper names), gastronomic symbols (BUTTER as glutamic pleasure, EGG as personal growth, LOBSTER as professional skills, DUCK as victory), and recipes (interrelation between the recipe and main characters’ specific period in life).

Full text
Abstract:
The Julia set is one of the most important sets in fractal theory. The previous studies on Julia sets mainly focused on the properties and graph of a single Julia set. In this paper, activated by the consensus of multi-agent systems, the consensus of Julia sets is introduced. Moreover, two types of the consensus of Julia sets are proposed: one is with a leader and the other is with no leaders. Then, controllers are designed to achieve the consensus of Julia sets. The consensus of Julia sets allows multiple different Julia sets to be coupled. In practical applications, the consensus of Julia sets provides a tool to study the consensus of group behaviors depicted by a Julia set. The simulations illustrate the efficacy of these methods.

Abstract:
It is known that the disconnected Julia set of any polynomial map does not contain buried Julia components. But such Julia components may arise for rational maps. The first example is due to Curtis T. McMullen who provided a family of rational maps for which the Julia sets are Cantor of Jordan curves. However, all known examples of buried Julia components, up to now, are points or Jordan curves and comes from rational maps of degree at least five. This paper introduces a family of hyperbolic rational maps with disconnected Julia set whose exchanging dynamics of postcritically separating Julia components is encoded by a weighted dynamical tree. Each of these Julia sets presents buried Julia components of several types: points, Jordan curves, but also Julia components which are neither points nor Jordan curves. Moreover, this family contains some rational maps of degree three with explicit formula that answers a question McMullen raised.
