Abstract:
Inspired by Jorgensen et al., it is proved that if a Cohen-Macaulay local ring $R$ with dualizing module admits a suitable chain of semidualizing $R$-modules of length $n$, then $R\cong Q/(I_1+\cdots +I_n)$ for some Gorenstein ring $Q$ and ideals $I_1,\dots , I_n$ of $Q$; and, for each $\Lambda \subseteq [n]$, the ring $Q/(\sum _{\ell \in \Lambda } I_\ell )$ has some interesting cohomological properties. This extends the result of Jorgensen et al., and also of Foxby and Reiten.

Abstract:
Leg-weakness in female breeding pigs has serious implications both in terms of economics and welfare, accounting for up to 0.2 of first litter gilt cullings at an estimated cost to the UK pig industry of up to £3.0 million (Douglas, 1992), with the principal predisposing cause in the growing pig being osteochondrosis. It has been reported that selection for increased lean tissue growth rate and increased growth rate accompanied by ad libitum feeding of diets with high energy and nutrient concentration may increase the incidence of osteochondrosis and leg- weakness (Jorgensen and Sorensen, 1998), although evidence is largely equivocal. The effect of protein level in the diet is uncertain. Although both high and low levels of dietary protein lead to bone growth failure and fracture in human studies ( Reid and New, 1997), protein level has not been found to affect osteochondrosis in pigs (Jorgensen, 1995), thus the aim of the current study was to assess further the effect of protein nutrition on leg weakness in gilts.

Abstract:
The Rao-Blackwell theorem has had a fundamental role in statistical theory. However, as opposed to what seems natural, Rao and Blackwell did not investigate and write the theorem jointly. In fact, they both published the same result independently, two years apart. Indeed, as C.R. Rao writes in Wikipedia: ”the result on one parameter case was published by Rao (1945) in the Bulletin of the Calcutta Mathematical Society and by Blackwell (1947) in The Annals of Mathematical Statistics. Only Lehmann and Sche ´e (1950) called the result as Rao-Blackwell theorem”. Forty years later, a situation very similar to the previous one seems to have happened. Tweedie (1984) in a paper published in a proceedings to a conference held in Calcutta and Bar-Lev and Enis (1986) in a paper published in The Annals of Statistics both presented for the first time, albeit two years apart, independently and in di erent contexts, the class of natural exponential families having power variance functions (NEF-PVFs). Tweedie’s results were then mentioned by Jorgensen (1987) in his fundamental paper on exponential dispersion models published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B. Jorgensen, however, mentioned also other researchers, including Bar-Lev and Enis, as dealt with the same problem. Nonetheless, Jorgensen (1987) stated in his paper that ”The most complete study” of NEF-PVFs was given by Tweedie (1984), a statement which has led to naming the class of NEF-PVFs as the Tweedie class. This statement of Jorgensen is entirely and utterly incorrect. Accordingly, one of the goals of this note is to 'prove' such incorrectness. Based on this 'proof' it will be evident, so I trust, that both Bar-Lev and Enis should have received the appropriate credit by re-naming the class of NEF-PVFs via the exploitation of the names of Tweedie, Bar-Lev and Enis. This would resemble the dignified and elegant manner Lehmann and Sche ´e acted on the Rao-Blackwell Theorem. Notwithstanding, the main aim of the note is to encourage young researchers to present their results with self-confidence and to get the credit they deserve.

Abstract:
The investigation in this article was motivated by an extended generalized inverse Gaussian (EGIG) distribution, which has more than one turning point of the failure rate for certain values of the parameters. In order to study the turning points of a failure rate, we appeal to Glaser's eta function, which is much simpler to handle. We present some general results for studying the reationship among the change points of Glaser's eta function, the failure rate, and the mean residual life function (MRLF). Additionally we establish an ordering among the number of change points of Glaser's eta function, the failure rate, and the MRLF. These results are used to investigate, in detail, the monotonicity of the three functions in the case of the EGIG. The EGIG model has one additional parameter, δ, than the generalized inverse Gaussian (GIG) model's three parameters; see Jorgensen [7]. It has been observed that the EGIG model fits certain datasets better than the GIG of Jorgensen [7]. Thus, the purpose of this article is to present some general results dealing with the relationship among the change points of the three functions described earlier. The EGIG model is used as an illustration.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to review our latest molecular dynamics (MD) simulation studies on the temperature and density dependence of the translational and reorientational motion in supercritical (SC) methanol. In the present treatment, Jorgensen's [W. L. Jorgensen. J. Phys. Chem. A102, 8641 (1998)] transferable potential model, tested in a recent MD study of hydrogen bonds in this fluid [M. Chalaris and J. Samios, J. Phys. Chem. B103, 1161 (1999)], was employed to simulate the dynamics of the system. The simulations were performed in the canonical (NVT) ensemble along the isotherms 523, 623, and 723 K and densities corresponding to the pressures from 10 to 30 MPa. Several dynamical properties of the fluid have been obtained and analyzed in terms of appropriate time-correlation functions (CFs). With respect to the translational dynamics, the self-diffusion coefficients obtained have been used to test the applicability of the well-known Chapman-Enskog kinetic theory. We have found that the theoretical predictions for the self-diffusion coefficients are only in qualitative agreement with the MD results over the whole temperature and density range studied. Finally, the inspection of the reorientational CFs and their corresponding correlation times lead to the conclusion that the reorientational motion of the SC methanol molecules in the sample is anisotropic.

Abstract:
This paper is built on the fundamental of Jorgensen and Sorge considering a differential game about fishery problem. In reality, the exploiters can be many because of the non-excludability of common resource. Thus, we expand the former two players model to N players model and we find more different equilibriums in N players scenario. Through this, we want to find some guidance for the changing of common resource stock. Further to control overexploitation.
