Abstract:
L’objectif du programme expérimental développé dans ce travail est d'étudier la possibilité d'utiliser des joncs de carbone pour renforcer les poutres en béton armé par la technique de NSM (Near Surface Mounted reinforcement) qui consiste à sceller le jonc de carbone dans une engravure déjà préparée sur la surface de la poutre à renforcer. Nous étudions quelques propriétés physiques et mécaniques des joncs de carbone et leur interaction avec le béton. Une étude couplée des deux interfaces entre le jonc de carbone et le matériau de scellement et entre ce matériau et le béton ancien est réalisée. Le comportement global de poutres renforcées par cette technique et soumises à une flexion quatre points classique ainsi qu’une configuration en console est étudié. Nous effectuons une importante étude paramétrique de quelques variables. Une comparaison entre les résultats expérimentaux et des calculs analytiques et par Eléments Finis des états limites principaux ainsi que du moment de ruine des poutres suivant les différents modes de rupture, est effectuée. Enfin, le calcul de la raideur des poutres renforcées lors de cycles de chargement et de déchargement fait l’objet d’une étude couplée analytique et par Eléments Finis. Les résultats expérimentaux montrent que le renforcement des poutres par cette technique s’avère très satisfaisantThe aim of the experimental program developed in this work is to investigate the possibility of using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) rods to strengthen concrete structural members with the Near Surface Mounted reinforcement (NSM) technique. We study some physical and mechanical proprieties of CFRP rods and their interaction with the concrete. Bonding at the interface between the CFRP rod and the filling material and that between the filling material and the old concrete is studied. The global behavior both of reinforced concrete beams strengthened by NSM technique and subjected to flexure and of cantilever beams is investigated. We make an important parametric study of some variables. The experimental results are compared with the analytical and finite–element calculations of the principal limit states. The failure moments of beams in various failure modes are also compared. Finally, the stiffness of the strengthened beams during loading and unloading cycles is studied by analytical and Finite Element methods. The experimental results indicate that strengthening concrete structural members with the Near Surface Mounted reinforcement technique gives very satisfactory results

Abstract:
Cette thèse s’intéresse à l’efficacité des renforcements par matériaux composites à base de fibres carbone (CFRP : Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) par la technique NSM (Near Surface Mounted ; réalisation d’engravures sur la surface du béton) pour requalifier les structures corrodées. Elle est composée d’une partie expérimentale et d’une partie modélisation par la méthode des Eléments Finis (EF). La technique NSM consiste à réaliser des engravures sur la surface du béton où sont insérés les joncs de carbone rendus adhérents par remplissage d’une résine époxy. Les éléments étudiés dans cette thèse sont des poutres en béton armé naturellement corrodées pendant 28 années d’exposition à un environnement salin. Dans cette thèse, nous nous intéressons aux modes de rupture et à la capacité portante à la fois : en flexion et à l’effort tranchant. Le degré de corrosion a été mesuré par la méthode de perte de masses locales après la fin des essais mécaniques sur les barres longitudinales ainsi que sur les cadres d’effort tranchant. La première partie présente les résultats expérimentaux obtenus sur une poutre corrodée et une poutre témoin réparée ou renforcée en flexion par un jonc de carbone de 6 mm de diamètre inséré dans la surface tendue par la technique NSM. Les essais ont pour objectif d’étudier la capacité portante, la flèche à la ruine, la rigidité en flexion et le mode de ruine des deux poutres afin de vérifier l’efficacité du renforcement ou de la réparation... La seconde partie présente les résultats expérimentaux obtenus sur des poutres courtes permettant de mettre en avant la résistance vis à vis de l’effort tranchant. A partir des poutres longues testées dans la première partie, deux poutres courtes corrodées et deux poutres courtes témoins sont extraites. Une poutre courte corrodée et une poutre témoin sont réparées ou renforcées en flexion et une poutre corrodée et une poutre témoin sont en plus réparées ou renforcées vis-à-vis à l’effort tranchant par des joncs de carbone de 6 mm de diamètre par la technique NSM. L’éventuel glissement des armatures longitudinales sur les appuis a été mesuré durant les essais de flexion 3 points. Les résultats expérimentaux montrent que la corrosion des armatures longitudinales et la corrosion des cadres d’effort tranchant n’affectent pas le mode de ruine et modifient très peu les capacités portantes. La réparation vis-à-vis de l’effort tranchant avec la technique NSM change le mode de ruine de la formation d’une fissure diagonale due au glissement des barres d’acier tendues, à la formation d’une large fissure de flexion à mi-travée suivie de l’écrasement du béton comprimé... La troisième partie s’intéresse à la modélisation par la méthode de modélisation par EF du comportement global en flexion. Une première approche 2D est élaborée avec le code FEMIX développé à l’Université de Minho par le professeur Barros. Cinq poutres sont modélisées : 3 corrodées dont une réparée par la technique NSM et 2 témoins dont une renforcée par la technique NSM. La modélisation par EF donne de bons résultats sauf dans le cas de la poutre corrodée réparée dont le mode de ruine est non conventionnel (séparation du béton d’enrobage)... La quatrième et dernière partie est consacrée à l’étude numérique des poutres courtes. Quatre poutres sont modélisées : 2 corrodées réparées dont une réparée vis-à-vis de l’effort tranchant et 2 témoins renforcées dont une renforcée vis-à-vis de l’effort tranchant. La modélisation par EF est faite en 3D en utilisant le code FEMIX. Les résultats numériques reproduisent correctement les aspects importants du comportement force-flèche ainsi que les modes de fissuration à la ruine pour les poutres réparées vis-à-vis de l’effort tranchant ou nonThe thesis is composed of an experimental and Finite Element Modeling (FEM) study, investigating the effectiveness of the (Near Surface Mounted CFRP rods technique (NSM)) on the corroded RC beams. In the NSM technique, the CFRP rods are placed inside pre-cut grooves and are bonded to the concrete with epoxy adhesive. The thesis studies the failure modes and the mechanical performance of the corroded RC beams due to steel corrosion and finally, the prediction of the mechanical behaviour of the repaired corroded RC beams using nonlinear models based on FE numerical modelling. The corroded RC beams studied here in this study were exposed to natural corrosion for more than 28 years. The first part includes experimental results which were obtained on two beams: (one corroded and one control beams, both are 3 metres long) repaired or strengthened in bending with one 6-mm-diameter NSM CFRP rod. The beams were tested in a three-point bending test up to failure. Overall stiffness was studied. Ultimate capacity, ductility and failure modes were also reviewed. Finally some comparisons were made between repaired and non-repaired beams in order to assess the effectiveness of the NSM technique... The second part discusses the experimental results of two short corroded beams, which were tested under three-point bending until failure, along with two short control beams of the same characteristics (age, length and cross-section). One RC corroded deep beam was repaired in bending and the other one was repaired in both bending and shear with NSM CFRP rods. After the beams had been tested up to failure, the main steel bars and the stirrups were extracted from the beams and the loss of mass was measured and plotted for both the longitudinal and transverse reinforcement. The slip of tensile reinforcement at the end of the beams was also measured during the tests. The effect of corrosion and the effect of repairing with CFRP NSM rods in bending and shear on the behaviour of deep beams are discussed. Experimental results showed that both corroded and control deep beams repaired only in bending failed due to shear failure mode(diagonal tension failure), while corroded and control beams repaired in both bending and shear failed due to concrete crushing. The test results also showed that the corrosion of both longitudinal and transversal reinforcement hardly modified the mechanical response of deep beams... The third part shows experimental results and numerical modelling results of 2D finite element model using the FEMIX computer code were obtained on five, 3-metre-long beams: three corroded RC beams and two control beams. Two beams, one corroded and one control were repaired or strengthened in bending with NSM CFRP rod and were then tested in three-point bending up to failure. The FE numerical modelling results from FEMIX were compatible with the experimental ones except for the repaired corroded beam, for which a three-dimensional model using the commercial software ABAQUS was required... Finally, the last part presents 3D numerical modelling results in terms of load-deflection curves, and failure modes for 4 short corroded beams: two corroded beams and two control beams, half of the beams were let repaired or strengthened in bending only with NSM CFRP rods while the others were repaired or strengthened in both bending and shear with NSM technique. Results showed that the FE model was able to capture the main aspects of the experimental load-deflection curves of the RC beams, moreover it has presented the experimental failure modes and FE numerical modelling crack patterns and both gave similar results for both shear-repaired and non-shear repaired beams, three dimensional crack patterns were produced for shear-repaired beams in order to investigate the splitting cracks occurred at the middle of the beams and near the support

The subject of this theses are the films of Lithuanian avant-garde artist, organizator and original interpreter of life, Jonas Mekas. Specifically I'm dealing with the development of his work from the complex film-diaritical sagas to video pieces presented on his web side. I'm exploaring where does he see the diference between the way he captures life and what we call documentary film, what does a reality means to him and how does he get closer to it's essence with the help of his camera. I'm observing how did the recent technical development effected his work - the arrival of video, computers and subsequently internet. I'm trying to understand where does diary-film stand in the frame of history of cinema and where is it's place in the context of the contemporary art scene.

Abstract:
Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones novels are popular with countless readers all over the world. They are "ripe for feminist interpretation and investigation" because they are "contemporary women's novels" that discuss the everyday lives of women, particularly unmarried women in the West (Whelehan 2004, 38). Imelda Whelehan argues that if the Bridget Jones novels do not "offer a 'true' reflection of contemporary single life for women, they perhaps present its tensions more boldly than ever" (2004, 30). This thesis is a feminist study of the Bridget Jones novels and the film adaptation of Bridget Jones's Diary, focussing on how discourses of feminism and otherness appear in Fielding's texts and in the film, and how the major women characters use them to interpret their own lives.
Chapter One investigates the ways in which Bridget, Sharon, and Pam Jones understand feminism and employ feminist language in Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary (1996). Chapter Two explores how characters who are Other---those who are racially and ethnically different from Bridget, her friends, and her family---create barriers between the white, heterosexual couples in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (1999). Finally, Chapter Three turns to the 2001 film adaptation of Bridget Jones's Diary in order to demonstrate how prevalent themes in the first novel, including feminism, go missing in the adaptation.

Resumo: A presente dissertação tem como objetivo traçar um estudo panorâmico da obra cinematográfica do cineasta lituano radicado em Nova York Jonas Mekas, bem como analisar, dentro da vasta obra de Mekas e do cinema experimental ou de vanguarda, as particularidades estéticas, os processos de criação do cineasta, e as características de filme-diário, nas quais Mekas toma como ponto de partida sua vida e seu cotidiano para realizar seus filmes. A dissertação também delineia a trajetória do cineasta no chamado underground de Nova Iorque, evidenciando suas principais contribuições para a cena artística da época
Abstract: This thesis aims to draw a panoramic study of the cinematic work of the Lithuanian filmmaker living in New York Jonas Mekas, and analyze, among his vast work and other experimental and avant-garde films, aesthetic characteristics, the filmmaker's creative process, and the diary films features, in which Mekas takes his own everyday life to compose his films. The paper also outlines Jonas Mekas' trajectory in the so-called New York's underground scene, pointing out his main contributions to the artistic environment of the time

Dans les années 1850, en Angleterre, Ernest Jones s'évertua à refonder le mouvement chartiste sur de nouvelles bases et s'imprégna de la doctrine socialiste, sous la conduite de Karl Marx. En 1851, à la lumière des nouvelles interprétions du régime capitaliste, il élabora un programme démocratique-socialiste, incorporant les aspirations sociales du prolétariat. Cependant qu'il réformait le chartisme, la classe laborieuse se détournait de l'organisation politique. Dans ce contexte, il ne parvint pas à mobiliser les masses. Jones fut aussi un internationaliste fervent. Il lança son Comité International, puis son Association Internationale, qui servirent de modèle organisationnel à la Première Internationale. Sa conversion au socialisme ne fut pourtant jamais totale, et ses idées radicales favorisèrent son rapprochement avec la bourgeoisie libérale réformiste. C'est néanmoins en tant que premier interprète des thèses de Marx en Angleterre, que Jones est passé à la postéritéIn the 1850's in England, Ernest Jones strove to build the Chartist movement on new foundations and absorbed the socialist doctrine, under Marx's supervision. In 1851, in the light of the new interpretations of the capitalist régime, he drew up a socialist-democratic programme, comprising the social demands of the proletariat. While he was thus reforming the Chartist party, the working classes turned their backs on political organisation. In this context, he didn't succeed in rallying the masses behind him. Jones was also a staunch internationalist. He launched his International Committee and his International Association, which anticipated the organisational forms of the First International. However, Jones's conversion to socialism was never complete, and his radical ideas favoured his political connection with the reformist liberal bourgeoisie. Even so, it's as the first exponent of Marx's theories in England that Jones should be remembered

Som när man hör en låt eller ser en film som känns som tagen ur ens liv och man känner att det man upplevt är på riktigt. -Yoko Bono, Det finns inget bättre Jag har avbildat min familj och vår gemensamma historia så länge som jag varit konstnär. Vare sig det handlat om video, textilt arbete, performance, skulptur eller måleri har våra delade erfarenheter varit startpunkten för allt mitt konstnärliga arbete. Mitt arbete på Konstfack har kretsat kring måleriets materialitet. Jag målar tunna lager av oljefärg på juteväv för att behålla dukens grova textur. Detta är en direkt referens till de starka barndomsupplevelser av olika material som fortfarande är en viktig hörnsten i mitt skapande.I have depicted my family and our life for as long as I have been an artist. Be it in the form of video, textile work, performance, sculpture or painting, our collective experiences have been the starting point of all my work. My work at Konstfack has revolved around the materiality of painting. I paint thin layers of oil colour on gunny to preserve the coarse structure of the fabric. I do this as a direct reference to the strong experiences of materiality I had in my childhood which still hold great importance for me in my work.

Abstract:
This thesis establishes a framework for cellularity of algebras related to the Jones basic construction. The framework allows a uniform proof of cellularity of Brauer algebras, BMW algebras, walled Brauer algebras, partition algebras, and others. In this setting, the cellular bases are labeled by paths on certain branching diagrams rather than by tangles. Moreover, for this class of algebras, the cellular structures are compatible with restriction and induction of modules.

Abstract:
La recherche de nouveaux antimicrobiens est actuellement cruciale pour faire face aux maladies émergentes (pandémie de la COVID-19) et à la résistance aux antibiotiques. La présente étude vise à mettre en exergue le potentiel d'espèces végétales, sélectionnées sur la base de critères écologiques et chimiotaxonomiques, comme source naturelle de composés dotés d'une grande diversité structurale et d'un éventail d'activités biologiques prometteuses. Des espèces de Juncus, collectées à partir de 3 localités en France, ont été étudiées pour leur potentiel antiviral contre les coronavirus et antibactérien contre des souches bactériennes à Gram positif. À cet effet, l'approche du fractionnement bioguidé employant des techniques séparatives conventionnelles (HPLC préparative et CPC), a été adoptée. L'étude de l'activité antivirale menée contre le coronavirus HCoV-229E a mis en évidence le pouvoir antiviral de la lutéoline isolé à partir du sous extrait AcOEt des tiges de J. acutus (localité 2). Le criblage de l'activité antibactérienne a souligné un effet remarquable du sous-extrait CH2Cl2 des rhizomes de J. inflexus (localité 3), enrichi en composés phénanthréniques, notamment contre les souches de S. aureus. Ainsi, des expériences complémentaires, permettant d'approfondir la compréhension de l'effet antibactérien de certains des composés phénanthréniques isolés, ont été réalisées en orientant le travail sur une souche de S. aureus résistante à la méticilline (SARM) et provenant d'un prélèvement sur un pied diabétique. Suite aux résultats promoteurs obtenus, le développement d'une formulation topique à base de juncusol a été initié. Des travaux portant sur la biodisponibilité de ce composé phénanthrénique ont été également réalisés par le biais d'expériences de passage de barrière intestinale in vitro au moyen de cocultures cellulaires Caco-2/HT29-MTXTo address the current challenges raised by emerging diseases (COVID-19 pandemic) and antibiotic resistance, the search for new antimicrobials has become urgent. The present study aims to highlight the potential of plant species, selected according to ecological and chemotaxonomic criteria, as a natural source of compounds with a wide structural diversity and promising biological activities. Juncus species collected from 3 localities in France were investigated for their potential antimicrobial effect against coronaviruses and Gram-positive bacterial strains. For this purpose, the approach of bioguided fractionation was adopted through the use of conventional separation techniques (preparative HPLC and CPC). The antiviral study conducted against the coronavirus HCoV-229E highlighted the antiviral potential of luteolin, a flavone that was isolated from the EtOAc sub-extract of J. acutus stems (locality 2). The screening for antibacterial activity led to the selection of the CH2Cl2 sub-extract of J. inflexus rhizomes (locality 3) for the rest of this study as this enriched-phenanthrene derivative sub-extract demonstrated a remarkable activity in particular against S. aureus strains. Additional experiments to deepen the understanding of the antibacterial effect of some of the isolated phenanthrene derivatives were performed focusing on a methicillin-resistant S. aureus strain that was isolated from a diabetic foot infection. Regarding the promising results, the developement of a topical formulation involving juncusol as an active component was initiated. Bioavailibility studies were also performed on this phenanthrene derivative through in vitro absorption and intestinal permeability experiments across Caco2/HT29-MTX co-cultured cells

The novel itself is about a young man still grieving for what he sees as his abandonment by both parents. Denied a stable family home, he has set out on a path of hedonism and reactionary thinking which can only inevitably lead to tragedy. The critical commentary, consisting of five chapters, explores the themes of identity, masculinity, the underclass, the Welsh novel, and the two primary dialects of south east Wales: Cardiff English and Wenglish. These chapters demonstrate the critical decisions I made during the creative process, which in turn substantiate the significance of such elements as Kilroy's point of view and character. Taken as a whole, they explain the Welsh - and indeed Cymraeg - nature of the story itself.

We assume, as object of work, a new proposal ethical theory developed by the German philosopher Hans Jonas(1903-1993). Concerned about the catastrophic direction that techno-scientific civilization seems to be taking Jonas in his Principle Responsibility (1979) unveils the problems engendered by excessive use of the technique. Thus, this work reveals itself as crucial to the development of this work reflection. At first, we will consider in addressing the issue of imbricated technique technological society, through the allegorical figure of Prometheus unchained, traveled the implications of baconian program assumed domination of nature in the modern era, returning to the influence of estocisimo, to a reformulation of Kantinian impertive given the changes for which contemporary ethics is submitted. On the second point, the question of life ontology highlights the need to recognize the intrinsic value of being organic, ethical thinking beyond anthropocentrism; to recognize the man not only as modifier of nature, but also as an object of their own involvement, reflecting the extent to which the man of the technological society still retains his human essence. Finally, the third phase houses the heuristic method assumed as fear , thinking the responsibility as a political , ethical and collective principle , but above all , a commitment to future generations

The main objective of this dissertation is to investigate the impact of accruals on the corporate earnings variability (EVAR) results that influence the practical application of income smoothing in Brazilian capital market firms. Initially, it approaches the importance of financial statements that must be evidenced in compliance with accounting principles generally accepted. Its disclosure should represent the reality of the economic-financial firm to the process of decision-making of shareholders and creditors. But at certain times, managers are motivated to practice the earnings management in an attempt to reduce the variability of profits through the use of accruals. The accruals represent the difference between net income and operating cash flow. In the process for reducing results volatility managers use the practice of income smoothing that represents a smoothing of profits, reducing any distortions in the market price of the firm. In this study, the sample is formed by a group of 163 capital market firms listed on Bovespa and presenting financial information in the period 2000 to 2007, categorized by sector, using data obtained in Economática. The statistical model used for this research was the regression analysis in order to explain the different cross-sectional models. These survey results indicate that accruals are significant to explain the EVAR of Brazilian companies. Our results suggest that the identification of structural model corporate earnings variability (EVAR) in Brazilian companies should be evidenced by non-financial variables that differ from those made by U.S. firms.
Esta dissertação tem como objetivo principal investigar o impacto dos accruals na variabilidade dos resultados corporativos (EVAR) que influenciam a aplicação prática do income smoothing nas firmas brasileiras de capital aberto. Inicialmente, é demonstrada a importância das demonstrações contábeis que devem ser evidenciadas em cumprimento aos princípios contábeis geralmente aceitos. Sua evidenciação deve representar a realidade econômico-financeira da firma para o processo de tomada de decisão dos acionistas e credores. Porém, em determinados momentos, os gestores se sentem motivados a praticar o gerenciamento dos resultados contábeis na tentativa de reduzir a variabilidade dos lucros por meio da utilização dos accruals. Os accruals correspondem à diferença entre o lucro líquido e o fluxo de caixa operacional. Nesse processo de redução da volatilidade dos resultados, os gestores se utilizam da prática do income smoothing procurando reduzir eventuais distorções no preço das ações da firma. A amostra neste estudo é composta por um grupo de 163 firmas de capital aberto listadas na Bovespa e que apresentaram informações financeiras no intervalo de 2000 a 2007, categorizadas por setores através de dados obtidos na Economática. O modelo estatístico utilizado na pesquisa foi a análise de regressão para explicar os diferentes modelos de cross-sectional. Os resultados desta pesquisa indicam que os accruals são significativos para explicar a variabilidade dos resultados corporativos (EVAR) de empresas brasileiras. Além disso, nossos resultados sugerem que o modelo estrutural de identificação do EVAR nas empresas brasileiras deve ser explicado por variáveis não contábeis diferentes das que são apresentadas pelas firmas norte-americanas.

Abstract:
This dissertation is a study on the works of the Swedish author Carl Jonas Love Almqvist during the final years of his exile in America. Focusing on the monumental 1438-page unpublished manuscript 'About Swedish Rhymes', the study first presents the textual material and then discusses the text from different formal and content-based aspects essential to an understanding of Almqvist's works in exile. In the manuscripts preserved from his last years of exile, i.e. the period after 1860, Almqvist refers to 'Mr Hugo's Academy, established in the year 1838' introduced in one of the volumes of The Book of the Wild Rose (1839). In comparison with his earlier fiction about academic "cabinet meetings", this fiction of such an academy, conceived in exile, is in some ways extraordinary. A close reading of the texts reveals that the aging Almqvist, contrary to previous opinions about him, maintained strict control over the activity: the extension and division of the record, as well as its references to time and space, all indicate a complete consistency and an exact mimetic order. The consideration of 'About Swedish Rhymes' starts out from exterior qualities. The observations are first considered in relation to the author's statements on the importance of the manuscript for the literary work of art. Subsequently, the genesis of the "exile" texts is re-examined. One key question here is whether the manuscript was completed in Philadelphia, or was continued in Bremen during the final year of his life. The content of the conversations in the records of the cabinet meetings is also analyzed. Although questions of metre and versification dominate, the text also deals with a variety of widely differing subjects, including discussions about the use of language and linguistic norms. The fictitious frame that the cabinet meeting provides for the purpose of discussing metre and rhyme is also considered. Here we find various improvised verses composed at the cabinet meeting and put into the mouth of the authentic versifier H.J. Seseman. One important question is whether the cabinet-meeting discussions about the metre in these verses are intended to be a serious contribution to scholarly debate, or whether they in fact have ironic undertones. Next, the narration of the "exile" texts is discussed from the point of view provided by its own fictitious perspective, together with the author’s relation to irony, satire and parody. The concluding chapter deals with verse-making in the record of rhyming. The emphasis is laid on the analysis and characterization of the various rhymed verses collected under the title Sesemana. One essential question concerns the 'rubbishy' or 'plain' character of these poems. The present analysis indicates that questions of rubbish, textual triviality and the like must bow to the broader question of the character of the poems in a deeper sense. Seseman's poetry is considered in relation to the Songes collection. Finally the question of how rhythm manifests itself as 'free verse' in a number of these poems with more serious content is also discussed.

Chapter 1 provides an explicit formula for the second plethysm of an arbitrary representation of sl3. This allows for an explicit formula for the
colored Jones polynomial of the trefoil,
and more generally, for T(2,n) torus knots. This formula for the sl3 colored Jones polynomial of T(2,n)$ torus knots makes it possible to verify the Degree Conjecture for those knots, to efficiently compute the sl3 Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants of the Poincare sphere,
and to guess a Groebner basis for the recursion ideal of the sl3 colored Jones polynomial of the trefoil. Chapter 2 gives a formulation of a stability conjecture
for the coefficients of the colored Jones polynomial of a knot, colored by irreducible representations in a
fixed ray of a simple Lie algebra. The conjecture is verified for all torus knots and all simple Lie algebras of rank 2. Chapter 3 supplies an efficient method to compute those q-series that come from planar graphs (i.e., reduced Tait graphs of alternating links) and compute several terms of those series for all
graphs with at most 8 edges.
In addition, a graph-theory proof of a theorem of Dasbach-Lin
which identifies the coefficient of q^k
in those series for k=0,1,2 in terms of polynomials on the number of
vertices, edges and triangles of the graph is given. Chapter 4 provides a study of the structure of the stable coefficients of the Jones polynomial of an alternating link.The first four
stable coefficients are identified with polynomial invariants of a (reduced) Tait graph of the link projection. A free polynomial algebra of invariants of graphs whose elements give invariants of alternating links is introduced
which strictly refines the first four stable coefficients. It is conjectured that
all stable coefficients are elements of this algebra, and experimental
evidence for the fifth and sixth stable coefficient is given. The results are illustrated in tables of all alternating links with at most 10 crossings and all
irreducible planar graphs with at most 6 vertices.

A justificativa para a escolha deste tema está na necessidade de ampliação da reflexão sobre o agir humano em relação a natureza, uma vez que este não tem acompanhado a problemática ambiental da atualidade. A questão filosófica que permeia esta dissertação ficou assim descrita: quais os principais fundamentos da ética constituem o Princípio Responsabilidade? Os objetivos centrais e secundários buscam realizar uma pesquisa para compreender os aspectos da ética inseridos no Princípio Responsabilidade propostos por Hans Jonas e pesquisar sobre as características da responsabilidade, sendo estas, autonomia, razão e liberdade respectivamente. Metodologicamente, por se tratar de um estudo teórico, utilizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica. Caracteriza-se também pela tipologia expositiva uma vez que reúne fontes complementares e de apoio para o levantamento e organização dos dados. Pode-se compreender o princípio da responsabilidade como um conceito que está estreitamente ligado à virtude e ao senso de responsabilidade universal. A research about the Responsability Principle proposed by Hans Jonas is the subject of the present paper. Explaining about the singularities of responsibility under the philosophical perspective that embraces a new ethical action towards the technological moment is one of its aims. The justification for the choice of this topic is on the necessity of expanding the reflection about human action in relation to nature, since it has not been following the environmental problematics of contemporary world. The philosophical question that permeates this dissertation is as follows: what are the main bases of ethics that constitute the Responsibility Principle? The central and secondary objectives are useful for understanding the ethical aspects intrinsic in the Responsibility Principle proposed by Hans Jonas and for the research about the characteristics of responsibility, as autonomy, reasoning and freedom respectively. Methodologically, for being a theoretical study, a descriptive research including a bibliographical research was used. The research is also characterized by the expositive typology, since it gathers complementary sources for the data resurgence and organization. The Principle of Responsibility can be understood as a concept that is closely related to the virtue and the sense of universal responsibility. Furthermore, it is a driving force based on an ethic of relations of humans with the environment, each having a role. Both of them are interrelated and as a new imperative for the entire human kind, taking into account that the continuous progress cannot be stopped.
