Full textChanges in education and in society place new demands on the teaching profession. Research have found positive relationships between in-service teacher training and student achievement; improving the quality of Teacher Professional Development is, therefore, an important goal for Europe's education systems. This thesis proposes an analysis of the factors that may affect the diffusion of innovation in science education and the effectiveness of the programs Teacher Professional Development (PD) for teachers of Science. First inquired on the resistance to innovation manifested by teachers, then according to data obtained by the investigation and analysis of documents was drawn to the identification of possible criteria for program effectiveness PD. Based on these criteria is, finally, conduct a comparative analysis between two PD models tested in Europe, to arrive at a proposed PD model for circulating innovation in science education.

Full textIs there an actual possibility, for Italy, to develop an educational dual system like the German one? Would this possibility be economically affordable? Could it be positively welcomed by Italian schools and VET institutions? What pedagogical basis on? And what about the legal ones? Collected and reviewed a valuable amount of literary contributions, this essay tries to answer the above questions, with particular regard about the Italian productive and educational systems, characterized by small and medium enterprises and, on the educational side, by a quite deep tendency to avoid contacts between schools and companies. The literature review focuses on three aspects. First, the economic advantages in implementing systems of dual education, particularly in the legal framework of the apprenticeship and in small and medium businesses. Second, the points of view of legal and pedagogical researches on the issues of: school-and-work integrated education, dual systems, apprenticeship, and school-and-work alternating training, presented together with statistical studies about the diffusion of such working-educational schemes in Italy. Third, the process of assessing and validating skills developed in the mentioned contexts. Within the body of the essay, then, the three main results of the examined studies are presented. First, there is no evidence against a successful implementation of a dual educational system in Italy; contrariwise, it would be a favorable opportunity for companies, youth, educational institutions, and the social texture in general. Second, the Italian regulation allows a fully and properly structured activation of dual educational system routes. Furthermore, considering the reviewed pedagogical studies, the literature and the debate seems mature enough to be able to advise how to orientate formative plans and programs, taking into particular account the – not always unjustified – critical voices and the replies about the most relevant issues. Third, there is the strong possibility that a properly functioning process of skills assessment and validation can be the corner stone of such dual educational system courses, synthesizing the acquisition of knowledge and abilities to be spent both in the education system and in the labor market. One last chapter, finally, is devoted to the presentation of a case study: the dual educational system experimented by the Fondazione A. Badoni of Lecco (Lombardy, Italy), which, exploiting also the legal framework of the newly reformed apprenticeship for school students, allows its participants to obtain a VET diploma working two or three days a week in manufacturing companies and attending a VET school for the rest of the week.

Full textA presente tese situa-se na linha de pesquisa Trabalho, Movimentos Sociais e Educação e concebe que a educação é um bem público, um direito subjetivo individual e um direito objetivo social, reafirmando que é uma política pública de responsabilidade do Estado, estratégica e imprescindível para um projeto de nação livre e soberana. Este estudo aborda, no campo das políticas públicas educacionais, o Financiamento da Educação Profissional no Brasil: suas contradições e desafios*, a partir de uma análise da configuração do Estado brasileiro, do financiamento da educação no país, da opção por diversos programas de educação profissional em detrimento de uma política pública global, tomando o Programa Nacional de Expansão da Educação Profissional (PROEP) e o Programa Nacional de Inclusão de Jovens: Educação, Qualificação e Ação Comunitária (PROJOVEM) como estudos de caso. A investigação está direcionada visando compreender como o modelo adotado pelo Estado brasileiro na educação profissional está, propositadamente, estruturado e voltado, para atender os interesses do setor privado que atua e hegemoniza a oferta desta modalidade no país. As formas que o Estado disponibiliza fundos públicos a serviço da reprodução do capital é diversificada, ora através repasses diretos por meio de programas, ora através de repasses indiretos por meio de isenções fiscais e previdenciárias, ou mesmo financiando e qualificando a força de trabalho para o capital e/ou instrumentalizando a formação técnico-profissional aos interesses do mercado. Os estudos da tese foram realizados a partir de uma perspectiva e abordagem teórica marxista, tomando a dialética como um método de articulação categorial que procede mediante a elevação do abstrato ao concreto, do menos complexo ao mais complexo. Já o materialismo histórico orientou o estudo da realidade e do financiamento da educação como totalidades contraditórias.
This thesis is inserted in the research field Work, Social Movements and Education, and believes that Education is a public property, an individual subjective right and an objective social right, as well, reaffirming that Education is a public policy on the State responsibility, strategical and indispensable to any project by any free and sovereign nation. This study comprehends, in the public educational Field, the Professional Education Financing in Brazil: its contradictions and challenges*, from an analysis of a configuration of the Brazilian State, of the financing of Brazilian Education, and of the option by several professional educational programs, with the detriment of a global public policy, getting the National Program to increase the Professional Educational (PROEP), and the National Program for Youth Inclusion: Education, Qualification and Communitarian Action (PROJOVEM) as case studies. The investigation aims to understand how the model adopted by the Brazilian State in the Professional Education is, intentionally, structured and directed to attend the private sector's interests, which acts and predominates this modality offered in this country. In this sense, it is important to highlight that the ways that the State offers public funds for the capital reprodution are diversified, one time through direct passes, by programs, and in other times through indirect passes, by providential and exemption of taxes, as well as financing and qualifying the workforce to the capital or to instrumentalising the professional technical formation for the market interests. The studies were done from a Marxist approach, getting the dialectic as method of categorical articulation, which proceeds by means of the elevation from the abstract to the concrete, from the less to the most complex one. The historical materialism, by its means, oriented the study and the reality of the educational financing as contradictory totalities.
