Abstract:
This article tries to discuss about mathematics and islamic thought. By seeing the relationship between mathematics and islamic teaching resources, this article found that science in this world can be classified into three groups, namely natural sciences, social science, and humanities. The natural sciences which consist purely consist of physics, chemistry, and biology, and some people enter mathematics again. The social sciences that fall into the category of pure sciences include sociology, anthropology, psychology, and history. Whereas the humanities consist of philosophy, language and literature, and art. Qur’an and Hadith in the development of science are positioned as sources of qawliyyah verses while the results of observations, experiments, and logical reasoning are positioned as sources of kauniyyah verses. With its position like this, then various branches of knowledge can always be sought from the source of the Qur'an and Hadith. Like, the science of mathematics developed on the basis of the Qur'an and Hadith sources as well as the results of observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning. Mathematics itself has a very close relationship with the spiritual traditions of Muslims, is familiar with the Qur'an, and of course mathematics can also be used as a "path" towards achieving happiness benefits both in this world and the hereafter.

Abstract:
Mathematical literacy is crucial to understand phenomena and good decision-making in real life. This study aims to describe aspects of Islamic nuanced mathematical literacy in prospective teachers, which were viewed from the four personalities of Keirsey. This qualitative descriptive research used a questionnaire of MTBI personality types and a mathematical literacy test with Islamic nuances. The subjects are students in the 7th semester of the mathematics education program at an Islamic university in Kediri City, East Java, Indonesia. The findings showed that rational and idealist subjects could fulfill the "formulating" indicator, but not the guardian and artisan subjects. They were not able to translate problems into mathematical form. The indicators of "employing" and "interpreting" show that subjects with rational personality types can determine better strategies than artisan, guardian, and idealist personality types. That is, it is necessary to integrate the interconnections between the mathematics learning programs related to Islamic elements. A more in-depth portrait of mathematical literacy is needed in different situations from prospective mathematics teachers at Islamic universities.

Abstract:
In 10th-century Córdoba, mathematics—and particularly geometry—was applied to architectural design in new ways, constituting a “mathematical turn” of Islamic architecture. In the mosque of Córdoba and in the palaces of Madīnat al-Zahrāʾ, geometry was employed in the design of ground plans, elevations, decorative patterns, and even to measure the human view. While Roman architects like Vitruvius had used mathematics to place each element of a building in its appropriate relation to all other elements of a building, the architects at Córdoba employed geometry to create a spatial web in which all parts are equal to each other and part of a single, unified space. The architects of Córdoba thus pointed the way to new possibilities of designing architecture, possibilities which were to be tested further by architects of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, though to different ends.

In Recent Years, many discoveries in the history of Islamic mathematics have not been reported outside the specialist literature, even though they raise issues of interest to a larger audience. Thus, our aim in writing this survey is to provide to scholars of Islamic culture an account of the major themes and discoveries of the last decade of research on the history of mathematics in the Islamic world. However, the subject of mathematics comprised much more than what a modern mathematician might think of as belonging to mathematics, so our survey is an overview of what may best be called the “mathematical sciences” in Islam; that is, in addition to such topics as arithmetic, algebra, and geometry we will also be interested in mechanics, optics, and mathematical instruments.

A mathematical model is a description of a system using mathematical concepts and language. The process of developing a mathematical model is termed mathematical modeling. Mathematical models are used in the natural sciences (such as physics, biology, earth science, chemistry) and engineering disciplines (such as computer science, electrical engineering), as well as in the social sciences (such as economics, psychology, sociology, political science). The main activities involved in this procedure are observation followed by mathematical modeling; simulation, analysis, optimization and back to observation, Mathematics has been applied to all sciences; and religious and military sciences are no exception, and mathematics can be used highly to design different war operations and solve battlefield equations to gain relative or absolute superiority over the enemy. We can also see clearly the application of mathematics in the Game Theory of war in abundance. In this applied research, conducted in a library method, the challenges between the army of Amir al-Mu’minin, ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (as), and the army of Muʿāwiya ibn Abī Sufyān in the Battle of Siffin have been modeled using Game Theory and the strategies of each of these two fronts are compared.

Abstract:
Mathematics is one of the subjects that are less attractive to students who attend Islamic boarding schools. They assume that mathematics has nothing to do with Islamic values. Whereas mathematics material has a relationship with Islamic values such as the material for arithmetic sequences and series. In this case, a teacher needs to use the right learning model to deliver the subject matter, for example with the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model. RME is a model of mathematics learning that can connect mathematics learning objects with real life so that students can easily understand mathematics. This study aims to describe the effect of internalizing Islamic values in mathematics learning through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model in arithmetic sequences and series subjects which were carried out for two meetings. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with the research subjects are 29 students of class XI IPA MA Matsaratul Huda. Data collection techniques used teacher and student activity observation sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, documentation, and test sheets. The results of the observation data analysis of teacher and student activities can be categorized as "very good" and students also respond "positively" to learning. From the results of student learning tests can be said to be "complete" classically with the results of 89.65% 85%. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that the internalization of Islamic values in mathematics learning through Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) affects student learning activities and outcomes and helps students understand the material and can provide new knowledge about the relationship between mathematics and Islamic values. This research can be used as an alternative in providing better learning.

Abstract:
This article reveals exploration of mathematical models and concepts in QS An-Nur: 24:26. This research stems from the ineffectiveness of learning mathematics because the process does not begin with students' initial understanding. In fact, according to NCTM, teaching and learning will be effective if it starts from what students know. In Islamic school students, initial knowledge can be extracted from the Qur'an because the Qur'an is a learning tool in believing in Islam, so it is recognized that the verses of the Qur'an are contained in the cognitive structure of students, which can facilitate learning. Unfortunately, the sources of learning mathematics and the Qur'an used by Islamic schools have not covered all topics of learning mathematics, so to complete it, it is necessary to model the verses of the Qur'an related to mathematics. This research was conducted to obtain mathematical modeling and concepts at the high school/equivalent level using the Miles and Huberman analysis method combined with Blum and Leib modeling and Abdussakir theory and Pseudo concrete. Based on the combination of analytical theory, the modeling and mathematical concepts contained are relations, surjective and bijective functions, inverse functions, and reflections.

Abstract:
Mathematical learning not only produces students who succeed in mathematical and procedural calculations but also develops religious thinking. Realistic mathematics education with the context of Islamic values makes students can imagine, which is one of the right ways to develop the skills of students’ creativity, collaboration, and communication. This study aims to describe the learning trajectory that can help students understand integers with a realistic mathematics education approach based on Islamic values. It is hoped that student responses are positive, meaningful, and enjoyable. This research uses the design research method, which is a form of a qualitative approach. There are three stages in this research, namely: preliminary design, experimental design, and retrospective analysis. The results showed that the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) trial with an Islamic value-based context showed significant progress based on student responses. Initially, students had difficulty understanding integers, but they felt delighted to follow the learning process along with the habituation. The HLT technique used in habituation was through pilot experiments, followed by teaching experiments. Students respond very positively and are happy to follow it by seeing the very significant development of their abilities during the learning process.

Abstract:
The ArgumentThe development of autonomous theoretical science is often considered a “Greek miracle.” It is argued in the present paper that another “miracle,” necessary for the creation of modern science, took place for the first time in the Islamic Middle Ages, viz. the integration of (still autonomous) theory and (equally autonomous) practice. The discussion focuses on the mathematical disciplines. It starts by investigating the plurality of traditions which were integrated into Islamic mathematics during its formation, emphasizing practitioners' “sub-scientific” traditions, and shows how these were synthesized in a way virtually unknown in earlier cultures. A discussion of the sociocultural roots of this specific synthesis concludes that a major role was played in the earlier period by the combination of fundamentalist convictions characteristic of Islam – that the most humble daily activity is directly responsible to the highest ontological level, while conversely this highest level is concerned with the humblest ranks of daily existence – with the absence of an institutionalized “Church” able to monopolize the interpretation of the mutual bond of the divine and the everyday levels. As the institutions of learning crystallized around the turn of the millennium, the integrative attitude to theory and practice was fixated institutionally; the latter process is discussed, first with the example of the madrasah institution as the carrier of an arithmetical textbook tradition, and second with that of the bond between astronomy and theoretical geometry.
