Abstract:
Islam as ad-din contains comprehensive and perfect teachings. Islam regulates all aspects of human life, not only aspects of worship, but also aspects of muamalah, especially sharia economics. The Islamic economic system has developed along with the advancement of science and technology. One form of embodiment of the Islamic economic system is the establishment of Islamic financial institutions in the form of banks and non-banks. The role and position of Islamic financial institutions is considered very important, especially in the development of a people's economic system. This is because the priority of Islamic financial institutions is more focused on forming stronger economic fundamentals.

Abstract:
Economic nationalism in the perspective of Islam for its adherents not only becomes religion and state in the sense of Western studies but it is also a system that encompasses all aspects of human life in the sphere of the state and nation. In his book, Marcel Boisard considers that the universality of Islam as a religion and social system can be proven in five aspects: the metaphysical aspect, the religious aspect, the sociological aspect, the economic aspect and the political aspect. Nationalism or belief in one's own product as a faith in the Essence of God as outlined in a very strong belief, Islam is a universal ideology that cannot be equated with any ideology and religion

Abstract:
Tensions between Puritan Islam and Kejawen Islam have never been resolved, despite various accommodation efforts. The ongoing contestation of the two traditions in Islam in Yogyakarta is because both always maintain strict cultural boundaries through symbols that represent their respective identities, be it in religious, art, cultural, economic and political practices. This study focuses on three aspects: (1) the form of representation of the contestation between Islam and Tradition (Kejawen) in the city of Yogyakarta; (2) the historical and cultural context which is the basis for the contestation between Islam and tradition; and (3) how the contestation between Islam and the Kejawen tradition is managed by each community in an effort to minimize the occurrence of social conflict between the two. Through these three aspects, this research aims to offer a new perspective in viewing the dialectical relations between Puritan Islam and Javanese (Kejawen) tradition contextually. The contestation between the Islamic tradition and the Kejawen tradition continued because of historical, political and global currents that provided space for both traditions to build their respective cultural identities.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the model of poverty alleviation by analyzing several aspects that in Islamic economics are considered to have an effect on poverty alleviation. Using a sample of provinces in Indonesia, this study applies to panel data analysis. The novelty of this research is using more variables, including some aspects rarely discussed in previous empirical models. The results of this study indicate a significant negative effect of mandatory and charity transfer variables on the poverty level. Although using different proxies, the results of this study are in line with and confirm previous theories and empirical research regarding the effect of zakat on poverty alleviation. In addition, the variable of increasing income was also found to have a significant effect on poverty alleviation. This provides an overview for the government to be able to optimize the role of zakat and increase income to reduce poverty, for example, by integrating the distribution of ziswaf through the provision of working capital more broadly and integrated towards economic improvement and growth so that it will bring a greater multiplier effect. In addition, the results of this study also provide recommendations for researchers to complement the limitations of this study. The limitation of this study is the lack of proxies in describing aspects that become variables of poverty alleviation in Islam as a whole. Whereas in Islam, poverty and its alleviation are multidimensional things and are not limited to material aspects but also spiritual.

This article discusses the history of the establishment of Islamic banking in Indonesia. The author examines the derivers of their establishment and argues that, aside other aspects, political aspects give contribution to the establishment of the Islamic banking. He describes a number of evidences of how politics play an important role in the success of their establishment; one of those proofs is the economic and political Islam interdependence which can be read in the idea of Indonesian Muslims on establishing Islamic banks, which is influenced by political content. At the beginning, the relationship between Muslims and the New Order was covered with suspicions and prejudices. The rulers of the New Order in the 1970's were still suspicious of the idea on the establishment of an Islamic state or the realization of the Jakarta Charter. Until recent days, the idea is still debated.

Abstract:
This study examines the theories of the application of Islamic law that were born from the thoughts of Islamic law experts, namely the theory of receptie exit, existence, and eclecticism. The presence of theories from Islamic law thinkers is an illustration of the cycle of legal thought in Indonesia, which started from the independence of Indonesia. Interestingly, there is no correlation between the application of Islamic law in all aspects, especially in the field of economic law. The discussion of the field of economic law only began to develop in the 1990s, followed by the issuance of regulations related to Islamic economics. Seeing this phenomenon, the research question in this paper was "how is the relationship between strengthening sharia economic law regulations with the theory of Islamic law enforcement based on cycle analysis?". The method used in this paper was a literature study with Ibn Khaldun's cyclical approach. Based on the analysis of the cycle theory, the theory of the application of Islamic law is divided into two phases, namely badawah and hadarah. Receptie exit and existence theories are classified as badawah phase. In the badawah phase there has not been a single discussion of the legal aspects of sharia economics. The strengthening of sharia economic law has just published its regulations in the hadarah phase.

Abstract:
Indonesian society is known as a society with complex heterogeneity, including a very dynamic structure in terms of political, economic, socio-cultural, and legal aspects. The enormous number of Muslim populations in Indonesia is the reason for continuing to strive for the development of the sharia economy which in its journey has met several obstacles. The dominance of the theory of capitalism in Indonesia, which originates from West and is even the focus of almost all countries today, has created economic injustice, because it only benefits West through the hegemony of paper currency and usury lending system. Economic theories formulated by experts are not able to present a just and civilized economic order for society, and even create a dichotomy between the interests of individuals, society, the state and relations between countries. In addition, it is also unable to maintain the sustainability of natural resources. According to the Islamic worldview, the capitalist economic system that is ingrained in Indonesia is a system that must be Islamized. So, of course the aspired economic theory is an economic system that can create justice and mutual prosperity accompanied by the blessings of the world and the hereafter. The theory is Islamic economics is sourced from Allah's law which brings justice and prosperity to all humankind, because Islam is a mercy to all of nature.

This article presents the way in which Indonesian citizens responded to the idea of the open market in the South East Asian country established by the AEC. The article chooses some opinions published by the Indonesian media: Kompas, Dakwatuna, Koran Muria, Koran Yogya, Islam Pos, Hizbut Tahrir website, and Jawa Pos from 2014 to 2016 which show fears of and resistance against the free market. In the arguments they exhibit the fears which are motivated by the citizens’ sentiments of nationalism and religion. The article also finds that the AEC is not well understood by the citizens of Indonesia, perhaps due to the lack of socialization by the government. Indeed, the AEC documents do not show any aspects outside economy as the main enterprise of the community, such as religion and nationalism which indeed motivated the fears of the Indonesian citizens. This led to difficulty by Indonesians to accept the idea of the free market who are mostly religious and hold nationalism in high regard. This paper also presents the detailed reasons and the arguments of the fears of the free market in the South East Asia.

The position of guarantees in financing agreements according to Islamic economic law states that guarantees in the practice of financing institutions are allowed because in order to maintain the trust of debtors, Islamic financial institutions must establish the principle of prudence and look at the condition of society that has experienced a shift in terms of commitment to moral values such as trust and honesty. Consumer financing agreements basically do not emphasize the collateral aspect. However, because consumer finance is a business institution, consumer finance companies in financing activities cannot be separated from risk, to avoid risk, consumer finance usually asks for certain guarantees as guarantees in financing. The main guarantee in a financial institution is in the form of trust, the main guarantee is in the form of goods financed on a fiduciary basis, and additional guarantees in the form of power to sell and others. The prehistoric period has ended formally in Indonesia with the discovery of the first writings from around the 4-5th century AD, in many places in Indonesia there are still visible signs of the persistence of prehistoric traditions far into the historical period to the present. Ethnographic sources that describe the lives of several isolated tribes which are somewhat isolated from the pace of the modernization process in this country, contain indications that prehistoric elements still exist in the lives of these communities. Some of these elements that settle in some aspects of socio-economic life and beliefs can be returned to their origins in the farming period. The most prominent among the remnants of that life is the tradition of worshiping ancestors both embodied in megalithic buildings as well as those conceived in the mind, although several religious conceptions such as Hindu-Buddhist, Islam and Christianity in layers form the mind. However, there is exception in the law of obligation. The obligation law in the mechanism of the corporation contract cannot be true (haram) since it is not in line with al-Qur’an and the rules in the various forms of corporation contract in Islamic law.

Abstract:
Abstract This article aims to find out and describe the pattern of Islamic education moderation in Indonesian history. Islam in Indonesia is manhaj tawasuṭ (moderate). With manhaj, Islam as a religion followed by the majority of the Indonesian population succeeded in entering into every aspect of life in Indonesia from social, cultural, economic and even political and government bureaucracy. Similarly, Islamic education managed to occupy an important position in education in Indonesia. Even though it is an alternative education, the fact is that Islamic education in Indonesia is a very important part to educate the nation. Moderation of Islamic education in Indonesia began with the first education model in Indonesia, namely pesantren. The pattern of moderation found from pesantren is cultural acculturation which is very obvious, from the knowledge learned to educational methods used, Arabic pegon to fill the language gap. The next phase is accommodation patterns that we can see from madrasa that adapts the classical government system from the colonial side. The next pattern is formalization that can be described through the phenomenon of state madrasas. Then, the latest is mu'adalah policy and formal diniyyah education. From these patterns it can be concluded that Indonesian Islamic education always takes the middle way (wasaṭiyyah) of every challenge that arises due to historical movements. This modernization is a genius manner by paying attention to the rules of muḥafadzah ‘alāqadīm al-ḥāliḥ wa al-akhdzu bi jadīd al-aṣlaḥ. With this understanding, Islamic education in Indonesia will always be relevant in every space and time (ṣaliḥli kull zamān wa makān) as aspired by the salāf al-ṣaliḥ. Abstract:
In Indonesia, zakat management was trying restructured in a top-down form based on the system followed in Malaysia and, in 1999, a related law was enacted. Although many previous studies have been conducted on zakat for its fundamental spiritual aspects and social roles, macroscopic research on its history of both theory and practice aspects is lacking. The transformation in the administrative reform of zakat, which focuses on not only the discourse of Islamic intellectuals but also the tone of the emerging Islamic economy and attitude of the management organization's practitioners and players, is important to understand the growth of Islam in Indonesia. This paper discusses how the zakat practice, which was an individual practice, expanded to include new objectives such as community development or financial inclusion without losing its original spiritual significance. Further, the paper clarifies how an institutionalized approach to zakat management helps in the development of new theoretical intervention areas and contributes to community development and empowerment, without compromising the original poverty alleviation programs. Abstract:
Empirically, Islamic society in Indonesia —as the majority of the population— hasnot been able to compete with the various advantages possessed by Islamic societies in other countries, particularly in the developed ones. Academically, the conceptual references on the development of Islamic society are relatively hard to find. These facts warrant both empirical and academic efforts to develop the concepts and formulas of Islamic society development, especially regarding its economical aspect. This report will further describe the importance of a formula for developing Islamic society, based on celestial business (al-mubaya’ah al-samawiyah), and how it can be a solution to the problem of economical dis¬advantages in Islamic societies. This research used literary method that conducted by analyzing various literatures relevant with the topic of the research. The findings show that conceptually, the celestial business (business with God) formula is relevant for the development of the economic aspect of Islamic societies. This formula offers equilibrium between the satisfaction of material and spiritual needs, or the physical and spiritual needs. On the higher level, it can be an alternative formula to develop the economic aspect of any Islamic society.

Abstract:
The Qawa'id fiqhiyyah al-Masyaqqāh Tajlib al-Taysir is a general foundation in social thinking and behavior that provides guidance for all people and nations in Indonesia, especially in the Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 as it is today, to carry out various interactions with each other. The guidance given concerns several aspects of life such as legal, economic, social, political and state aspects, as well as culture to human behavior problems when collided with Islamic economics by understanding the principles contained therein. This research focuses on the study of qawa'id Fiqhiyah al-Masyaqqāh Tajlib al-Taysir, which means Difficulty of Giving Birth to Ease, and its implications for economic thought and behavior in society in the current era, namely the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. In this case, the understanding of the difficulty of giving birth to ease is that mutlaq is needed to carry out an ijtihad or renewal of thought. The existence of this fiqh principle, in which the difficulty of giving birth to convenience proves that Islam, with all its tools, pays close attention to human behavior in fulfilling the daily needs of both social and economic needs. This can be proven when Allah SWT allows Muslims to interact and transact with non-Muslims at the same time, even Allah SWT gives flexibility to the mukalaf in determining their economic activities according to their ability levels. However, this almost Qath'i rule, namely masyaqqah is limited by the Shari'a in order to maintain the originality of human benefit from the rules made by the creator
