Abstract:

The ultimate axial bearing capacity (UABC) of a single pile is an important parameter in pile design. BP neural network (BPNN) has a strong nonlinear mapping ability and can effectively predict the UABC of a single pile. However, frequent immersion in unstable search results with local vibration leads BPNN to a less usable solution. The weights and biases of the BPNN model are optimized using the improved radial movement optimization (IRMO) algorithm in this study, and a new method named the IRMO-BP neural network (IRMO-BPNN) is proposed to predict the UABC of a single pile. The IRMO-BPNN model was developed from a database of 196 static load test (SLT) samples, and model hyper-parameter analysis was carried out to determine the optimal number of hidden nodes, population size, and the number of iterations. The prediction accuracy and stability of the IRMO-BPNN model are verified by comparing it with the GA-based ANN model, ANFIS-GMDH-PSO model, and RBFANN model. The results show that the IRMO-BPNN model can accurately predict the UABC of a single pile and improves the situation that the BPNN model is easy to fall into local optimal values and its search results are unstable. The IRMO-BPNN model has significant advantages over other models.

Abstract:

The development height of the water-conducting fracture zone (WCFZ) is crucial for the safe production of coal mines. The back-propagation neural network (BP-NN) can be utilized to forecast the WCFZ height, aiding coal mines in water hazard prevention and control efforts. However, the stochastic generation of initial weights and thresholds in BP-NN usually leads to local optima, which might reduce the prediction accuracy. This study thus invokes the excellent global optimization capability of the Improved Radial Movement Optimization (IRMO) algorithm to optimize BP-NN. The influences of mining thickness, coal seam depth, working width, and hard rock lithology proportion coefficient on the height of WCFZ are investigated through 75 groups of in situ data of WCFZ heights measured in the Jurassic coalfield of the Ordos Basin. Consequently, an IRMO-BP-NN model for predicting WCFZ height in the Jurassic coalfield of the Ordos Basin was constructed. The proposed IRMO-BP-NN model was validated through monitoring data from the 4−2216 working faces of Jianbei Coal Mine, followed by a comparative analysis with empirical formulas and conventional BP-NN models. The relative error of the IRMO-BP-NN prediction model is 4.93%, outperforming both the BP-NN prediction model, the SVR prediction model, and empirical formulas. The results demonstrate that the IRMO-BP-NN model enhances the accuracy of predicting WCFZ height, providing an application foundation for predicting such heights in the Jurassic coalfield of the Ordos Basin and protecting the ecological environment of Ordos Basin mining areas.

Abstract:

SUMMARYIn vitrorumen methane output (IRMO) of over 200 feed/feed mix samples representing approximately 74 feed types was investigated in a series of completely randomized experiments. The samples comprised dry fodder, grass, tree leaves, cultivated grasses, cereal by-products, cereal grains, oilseed/meals, compound feeds and total mixed rations (TMRs) from the tropical regions. These samples were subjected to threein vitrogas production tests at 39 °C in 100 ml Heberle syringes. The first incubation was conducted with 200 mg dry matter (DM) substrate for 96 h to determine half-time gas production (t1/2, h) value of each sample. The second and third incubations were carried out simultaneously. The second incubation was done with 200 mg DM substrate untilt1/2time to determine IRMO and third with 500 mg DM to estimatein vitrodry matter digestibility (IVDMD) of each samples, respectively. The IRMO was expressed as ml/100 mg digestible substrate. Crude protein content (g/kg DM) was lowest in dry fodder samples and highest in oilseed meals, whereas it was similar in local grass and tree leaves. The IVDMD values ranged from 0·48 to 0·87; the lowest digestibility was recorded in tree leaves. The potential gas production (PGP, ml/200 mg DM) ranged from 9·76 to 61·3. The PGP from grasses and compound feeds was similar, whereas it was lowest in tree leaves. The rate constant (mg/h) was maximum in compound feed followed by oilseed meal. The rate constant was similar among other group of feedstuffs. Thet1/2time ranged from 9·8 to 19·4 h. The highestt1/2time was recorded in local grass samples followed by dry fodder and cultivated grasses. However, they were similar among tree leaves, cereal grains, by-products and compound feeds. The methane % in the total gas varied from 9·79 (tree leaves) to 20·2 (local grasses). Among straw, IRMO varied from 3·88 (Zea maysfodder) to 12·0 (Sorghum vulgare) and it was lower in fruit tree leaves than cultivated grasses. Among protein and energy sources, IRMO was higher in cereal by-products as compared with cereal grains, oil meals and compound feed. The IRMO was similar among TMR, irrespective of the composition of the concentrate mixture. Nevertheless, it varied with the amount of concentrate in the TMR. This is the first exhaustive data on IRMO from the tropical region. Because of the substantial amount of dietary gross energy lost in methane, knowledge of the methane output from these feed ingredients will help in formulating low methane emitting diets for ruminants. Incorporation of tropical tree leaves in the diets and feeding TMR are potential strategies to reduce enteric methane emission in ruminants.

Abstract:

The article examines the activities of the Primorsky Musical Institute (1923-1924), which contributed to the development of academic music in the Far East in the post-revolutionary period, associated with the liquidation of the "buffer state" of the Far Eastern Republic (FER, 1920-1922) and its accession to the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). Through the prism of historical documents and archival materials, the factology of which did not fall into the analytics available today, corrective information is introduced into music science, which, on the one hand, forms an up-to-date view of the activities of the Primorsky Musical Institute, in terms of preserving traditions, paying attention to successive ties with the Imperial Russian Musical Society (RMO / IRMO), which played a special role in organizing the musical life of the country, and the Far East during the period of Imperial Russia. On the other hand, he names the reasons why the closure of the Institute led to the impossibility of the historical continuation of the forward line of development laid down by the IRMS in the Sovietized post-FER period. Contextual study allows the fact of the emergence of the Primorsky Musical Institute in Vladivostok to be comprehended as a consequence of the inertially preserved organizational work of the Vladivostok branch of the IRMO (1909-1917), which opened a music school at the Department, and then established a music school at the RMO (1917-1922).

Abstract:

In practice, the drilling path of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) projects is usually constructed by trial and error based on a preliminary designing trajectory. This study aimed to propose and test a method to predesign and optimize the drilling paths automatically, with the view of improving the efficiency of HDD design preparations. Alternating straight and curvilinear segments is a commonly used method for designing drilling paths, especially the “straight—curvilinear—horizontal straight—curvilinear—straight” five-segment arrangement. The catenary method was proposed to design the drilling path with the advantage of lower friction for the mechanical constraints. However, it is difficult to be implemented with technology limitations due to its continuously changing curvature. In this study, five-segment trajectories were combined with the catenary trajectory to utilize their advantages using the improved radial movement optimization (IRMO) algorithm. Drilling mud pressure was considered in the processes of the mechanical design to avoid collapse or possible instability. Two different examples were tested in different scenarios, theoretical and practical. The results show that the IRMO algorithm has a great potential for automatically designing and optimizing preliminary drilling paths with low time-consumption and high feasibility.

Abstract:

Attachment systems (AS) enhance retention and stability by anchoring the overdentures to implants. Since 2002, the McGill consensus statement recommends the 2-implant-retained overdentures as the standard choice for edentulous mandible (2-IRMO). Considering the large number of AS available, it remains difficult for a practitioner to make a reasoned choice. A systematic review was conducted in PubMed/Medline and carried out independently by three authors, on retention, wear, and maintenance of AS used clinically or in vitro specifically for 1- or 2-IRMO. The 45 selected studies include 14 clinical and 31 in vitro studies. The risk of bias was evaluated according to the revised Cochrane risk of bias tool for randomized trials (RoB 2). The initial retention force of the cylindrical system is higher than the ball system. The retention loss, related to the wear of the retention device, is responsible for the most common need of maintenance, requiring activation or replacement. Plastic retention devices wear out faster and more significantly than metal ones, implying a worse time behavior of cylindrical systems, but their maintenance rate is similar. Neither system appears categorically superior. Cylindrical systems provide higher initial retention than ball ones; this advantage reduces over time with wear without affecting their need for maintenance.

Abstract:

Considering the change of different soil layer parameters of a two–layered strip foundation, a planar kinematically permissible multi–block failure mechanism of a two–layered strip foundation under vertical uniform load is formulated. Based on upper–bound limit analysis theorem, the solution process of ultimate bearing capacity of a two–layered strip foundation is proposed. The improved radial movement optimization (IRMO) could search the critical slip surface of the foundation and calculate associated ultimate bearing capacity. On this basis, analyze the influence parameters. The results show that the IRMO algorithm is feasible, stable, and efficient in solving the ultimate bearing capacity. With the increase in the internal friction angle and cohesion of the two–layered strip foundation, the critical slip surface will expand more deeply, and the ultimate bearing capacity will increase. The influence of upper soil parameters on the calculation results is greater than that of lower soil. For the case with upper–hard soil, the ultimate bearing capacity of it increases gradually with the increase in the H/B ratio. For the upper–soft case, the ultimate bearing capacity of it decreases gradually with the increase in the H/B ratio. Moreover, the increase of ground overload will also cause a linear–increasing in the ultimate bearing capacity.

Abstract:

Underground coal seam mining significantly reduces the stability of slopes, especially soil slopes, and an accurate evaluation of the stability of soil slopes under underground mining conditions is crucial for mining safety. In this study, the impact of coal seam mining is considered as the additional horizontal and vertical stresses acting on the slope, and an equation for calculating the safety factor of soil slopes under underground mining conditions is derived based on the rigorous Janbu method. Then, the Improved Radial Movement Optimization (IRMO) algorithm is introduced and combined with Lévy flight optimization to conduct global optimization searches, obtaining the critical sliding surface and corresponding safety factor of the soil slope under underground coal seam mining. Through comparisons with the numerical simulation results in three different case studies, the feasibility of applying the IRMO algorithm with Lévy flight to analyze the stability of soil slopes under underground mining is demonstrated. This ensures the accuracy and stability of the calculation results while maintaining a high convergence efficiency. Furthermore, the effects of the mining thickness and mining direction on slope stability are analyzed, and the results indicate that a smaller mining thickness and mining along the slope are advantageous for slope stability. The method proposed in this study provides valuable insights for preventing the slope instability hazards caused by underground coal seam mining.

The stability of abandoned open-pit mine slopes and their ecological environment are threatened owing to their fragile, complicated, and uncertain characteristics. This study establishes a novel evaluation indicator system for enhancing mine design and environmental protection insight. The weights in the system are assigned using a combined method, which consists of the game theory, the interval analytic hierarchy process (IAHP), and the entropy weight method (EWM). The IAHP is optimized by the improved radial movement optimal (IRMO) algorithm and the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm to ensure calculation stability and efficiency. Meanwhile, a two-dimensional cloud model (TDCM) is developed to obtain the slope resilience level and visualize the result. This comprehensive evaluation method is applied to three abandoned mine slopes in the Yellow River Basin, and the results demonstrate that the method can provide crucial insights for rational mine slope stabilization and ecological restoration.

В статье рассматриваются предпосылки, приведшие к открытию в Екатеринодаре (ныне - Краснодар) отделения ИРМО (1900), возобновлению его деятельности после прекращения работы в связи с финансовыми трудностями (1905) и избранию в 1907 году шести выдающихся русских музыкантов - Н. А. Римского-Корсакова, М. А. Балакирева, Ц. А. Кюи, Э. Ф. Направника, А. К. Глазунова и С. В. Рахманинова - его почетными членами. Это событие широкой огласке не предавалось и упоминалось только в официальных изданиях ИРМО. В основу исследования легли документы из фондохранилищ Отдела рукописей Российской национальной библиотеки, Центрального государственного исторического архива Санкт-Петербурга, Государственного архива Краснодарского края, а также материалы центральной и региональной периодической печати начала ХХ века. В статье представлены ответные благодарственные письма Римского-Корсакова, Балакирева, Кюи и Направника и грамота на звание почетного члена отделения Кюи; впервые публикуются их факсимиле. В настоящее время ответные письма выдающихся русских музыкантов хранятся в Государственном архиве Краснодарского края, куда поступили из Краснодарского музыкального училища. Не оформленные соответствующим образом, они на протяжении более трех десятилетий находятся в одном из сейфов и являются недоступными. Их факсимиле, представленные в статье, воспроизводятся с копий из личного архива автора, сделанных в 1981 году. The article examines the preconditions that led to the opening of the IRMO branch in Ekaterinodar (now Krasnodar) (1900), the resumption of its activities after the termination of work due to financial difficulties (1905) and the election in 1907 of six outstanding Russian musicians-Ri msky-Korsakov, Balakirev, Cui, Napravnik, Glazunov and Rachmaninov as its honorary members. This fact was not widely publicized and were mentioned only in the official documents of the IRMO. The study is based on documents from the depositories of the Department of Manuscripts of the Russian National Library, the Central State Historical Archive of St. Petersburg, the State Archive of the Krasnodar Territory, as well as materials from the central and regional periodicals of the early 20 century. The article presents letters of thanks from Rimsky-Korsakov, Balakirev, Cui and Napravnik and Cui's certificate for the title of honorary member of the branch and for the first time reproduces facsimiles of these historical sources. At present, the letters of reply from outstanding Russian musicians are kept in the State Archive of the Krasnodar Territory, where they were received from the Krasnodar Music School. Not properly executed, these documents have been stored in one of the safes for more than three decades and are not available. The facsimiles of the documents presented in the article are reproduced from copies from the author's personal archive, made in 1981.

Children's literature can be an important vehicle to use when exploring various mathematical concepts (Whitin and Wilde 1992). Stories can help students understand the meaningful contexts that support mathematical thinking. They will see mathematics not as a prescribed set of algorithms to master but as a way of thinking about their world. Children's literature present a nonthreatening avenue to test out current notions about important mathematical concepts. The following two classroom scenarios occurred in Cassandra Gary's first-grade classroom in Irmo. South Carolina. She used two pieces of literature, The Line-up Book (Russo 1986) and The Doorbell Rang (Hutchins 1986), on two different occasions a springboards for mathematical thinking. The first book enabled her students to explore the concept of length, and the second story reinforced the concept of partitioning. Although each book ha a mathematical dimension, it is important to remember that they are, first and foremost, good pieces of literature. Each book is a unique literary experience and should be enjoyed for its own ake first. Gary read each story to the class cveral times and let the students voice their peronal. spontaneous observations and predictions. By so doing, the integrity of the literature is respected and preserved.

Um povo pode desaparecer, mas não uma história. Isso foi o que ocorreu com um mito kuniba, narrado a Nimuendaju por Carolina, em uma situação de remoção forçada promovida pelo Estado brasileiro no começo do século XX. O mito em questão falava da origem da lua, ocasionada pelo incesto de um irmão com uma irmã. Até o começo do século XX, povos vizinhos dos Kuniba, como os Cashinahua e os Kanamari, tinham narrativas muito distintas sobre a origem da lua. No entanto, ao longo do século, com a partida dos Kuniba, o tema do incesto entre irmão e irmã passa a estar presente nas narrativas, difundindo-se pela região das bacias dos rios Juruá e Purus. Isso conduz a uma reflexão sobre o problema da “causalidade informacional”, sobre a “política externa” estabelecida entre diferentes povos e sobre a “dialética espacial” promovida pelos mitos.

A bíblia hebraica apresenta uma grande polissemia quando se trata de palavras que recebem maior destaque. Este é o caso do vocábulo «irmão», que aparece em primeiro lugar na sua acepção de «filho do mesmo pai e/ou da mesma mãe», também pode conter as realidades dos que «são parentes próximos, companheiros, amigos, da mesma raça ou nação e até como sinal de respeito e cordialidade devida àqueles a quem é devido respeito». Quanto à palavra «irmã», ainda que tenha um espectro mais reduzido, também vai além da conotação estrita. A bíblia grega, chamada dos LXX, mostra a diversidade de compreensão ao tentar elucidar alguns textos onde «irmão» poderia ser mal-entendido. Em todo caso, «irmão» tem a ver com «fraternidade, irmandade», seja através de laços sanguíneos ou não. O que se percebe claramente é, em nenhum dos textos estudados, o vocábulo «irmão», na bíblia hebraica, tem uma acepção que não seja clara, ou seja, ele não foi utilizado por falta de outro mais apropriado, e sim porque seu espectro linguístico comporta aquelas acepções.

BackgroundMalnutrition is a frequent problem in oncology and is associated with reduced response to cancer treatments, increased drug-related toxicity, higher rates of clinical complications, reduced quality of life (QoL) and worse prognosis. Guidelines on clinical nutrition in oncology emphasise the usefulness of early assessment of nutritional status for a prompt identification of malnutrition and the implementation of effective interventions, but no real-world clinical data are available on the adequate management of nutritional support in patients with cancer in Italy.Methods and analysisThis is an observational, longitudinal, multicentre registry of patients with a new diagnosis of cancer or metastatic disease, candidates for active treatment. They will be identified in at least 15 Italian oncological centres, members of the Alliance Against Cancer Working Group ‘Survivorship Care and Nutritional Support’. At least 1500 patients with cancer are expected to be enrolled each year. Detailed clinical and nutritional data will be collected by oncologists and clinical nutritionists during the visits foreseen in the clinical practice, through an ad hoc developed digital platform (e-Nutracare). The effects of malnutrition and nutritional support—at diagnosis and during follow-up—on overall survival and progression-free survival, as well as on patients’ symptoms and QoL, will be investigated.Ethics and disseminationThe study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Italy and from the Ethics Committees of all other participating centres. An informed consent will be obtained from each patient enrolled in the study. Study findings will be disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, conferences and patients with cancer or professional associations. The registry will allow a better monitoring of the nutritional status of patients with cancer, promoting adequate and sustainable nutritional support, with the ultimate goal of improving the care and prognosis of these patients.

O término da II Guerra Mundial, em 1945, produziu um elevado contingente de deslocados de guerra na Europa. O presente artigo estuda as narrativas de deslocados de guerra europeus registradas em cartas, encaminhadas à Cruz Vermelha, filial do Rio Grande do Sul, no imediato pós-guerra, entre 1946 e 1949. Entende-se as cartas como “escritas de si” espontâneas, realizadas na tentativa de buscar reconexões étnicas e religiosas, com o intuito de receber auxílio para sobreviver. Logo, são desconexões familiares e conexões transnacionais, mediadas pela Cruz Vermelha, que têm como tentativa sensibilizar o grupo étnico alemão rio-grandense para acorrer em auxílio. As cartas, como escritos espontâneos de sujeitos anônimos, para além de sua demanda individual, trazem aspectos do cotidiano da Alemanha pós-guerra, bem como dessas populações deslocadas e de sua vida precária. Procura-se trazer uma história vista de baixo para cima, sob a perspectiva de pessoas comuns, que depositaram um fio de esperança no além-mar.

Na relação fraterna encontra-se o gérmen do pensar, do desenvolvimento da capacidade para compartilhar e ser solidário. É nesta relação que sentimentos como o amor e o ódio, a inveja e o ciúme despertam. O irmão(irmã) tem um significado muito importante na constituição do psiquismo, no desenvolvimento do pensamento e na passagem do narcisismo para a relação objetal. O irmão abre a possibilidade de pensar, de questionar sobre a origem, as diferenças (sexuais, anatômicas, geracionais) a vida, a morte. A função do mesmo remete a constatar: as feridas, as conquistas, as falhas e os triunfos. É nesse outro-semelhante que é possível encontrar a possibilidade de olhar e reconhecer, naquilo que se reconhece incomoda, perturba, e naquilo que gostaria de ser e não sou. Este outro-semelhante que contribui para pensar, adquirir independência intelectual. A partir de um caso clínico, pretende-se discutir as consequências da proibição para pensar que, às vezes, os segredos de família impõem ao psiquismo dos irmãos. Como vinheta clínica, é apresentada uma situação clínica com um grupo de reflexão de pais e leva-se em consideração uma cadeia associativa grupal, que põe em questão aquilo que mobiliza a presença do outro, como alheio, o diferente, e traz o irmão como provocador do pensar, do questionar.

Inspirados pela obra de Pamela Grace que colocou estes filmes em relação direta com a cinebiografia, faremos com essa autora um diálogo crítico, e verificaremos os elementos estéticos e narrativos característicos dessas produções no cinema e no audiovisual. A errância, conceito cunhado por Édouard Glissant (2017), são os deslocamentos da personagem, que ajudaram a construir sua identidade, um construto híbrido, característica da qual Glissant (2017) chama de crioulização e que forma a protagonista gonçalviana à medida em que seu letramento rompe com a tradição moderna/colonial e a torna exemplo positivado, levado ao bem comum.

Resumo: Com base em uma etnografia realizada entre os Guna (Kuna), população ameríndia que habita a costa atlântica do Panamá, este artigo tem por objetivo refletir sobre parentesco e relacionalidade a partir de sua práxis terminológica. A análise recai sobre os usos do idioma do parentesco por pessoas que afirmam uma subjetividade em desacordo com o gênero atribuído no momento do nascimento (omeggid, categoria local traduzida por “parece mulher”). Considerando as apelações na geração de Ego (G0), especialmente aquelas que remetem à consanguinidade (irmão/sussu; irmã/iolo), o artigo demonstra que a terminologia de parentesco permite conjugar estrutura e estratégia. Chamando alguém por sussu ou iolo, as omeggids produzem para si um lugar de gênero feminino; ao mesmo tempo, em detrimento da troca matrimonial ou aliança, afirmam um “modo de vida” estruturado por relações de amizade.

A rainha de Espanha D. Maria Bárbara de Bragança era irmã dos reis de Portugal D. José e D. Pedro III. A partir do trono espanhol testemunhou a devastação do terramoto de Lisboa em 1755, que a terá angustiado sobre os destinos da sua família de origem. Cinco meses depois da catástrofe, lavrou o seu testamento fazendo generosíssimos legados em joias à geração mais nova da família real portuguesa e, sobretudo, ao irmão mais novo que tornou seu herdeiro universal. Desta forma, o infante D. Pedro, futuro rei D. Pedro III de Portugal, herdou um conjunto de joalharia a todos os títulos notável. Igualmente excecional é o facto de, ainda hoje, se conservarem quatro joias de grande qualidade, provenientes da herança de D. Maria Bárbara, no espólio de joalharia da antiga Coroa portuguesa, agora expostas no Museu do Tesouro Real, em Lisboa.

O artigo lança mão de algumas das entrevistas que constituem o corpus cinematográfico dos Ditos e Escritos de Michel Foucault, e de alguns filmes, especialmente o filme Eu, Pierre Rivière, que degolei minha mãe, minha irmã e meu irmão, dirigido por René Allio, cujo roteiro foi adaptado da obra homônima publicada sob a direção do filósofo. Apoiado na mirada arqueo-genealógica de Foucault sobre os filmes o texto problematiza, em um viés estético-político e num recorte específico, aquele em que teria consistido seu interesse maior pelo cinema: como uma maneira de tratar o corpo. É de suma importância pensar a prática educativa de forma reflexiva considerando que o modo como a criança vive sua infância é um fator determinante em suas escolhas futuras. Pensando em analisar a função socio cultural do objeto brinquedo e sua influência na perpetuação dos estereótipos pertencentes ao gênero masculino e feminino foi proposta uma pesquisa envolvendo 39 crianças de escolas municipais de Formosa-GO, a fim de descobrir o que elas pensam sobre o brinquedo. São crianças do sexo masculino e feminino com idade entre 4 e 7 anos. Foram colocados três brinquedos diferentes diante da criança (boneca, carrinho e um boneco do personagem Hulk) então foi-lhe solicitado que mencionasse qual daqueles brinquedos parecia-lhe o mais legal, seguido de qual gostaria de ter. As preferências de brinquedos dos meninos parecem mais estereotipadas em comparação com as meninas. Nenhum menino preferiu brinquedo “socialmente aceito como de menina”, enquanto algumas meninas escolheram brinquedos “socialmente aceitos como de menino”. O comportamento das crianças, parece revelar a presença marcante dos estereótipos de gênero. 86,8% das crianças presenteariam a irmã com a boneca e somente 13% com outro tipo de brinquedo. Evidencia-se a presença do estereótipo de gênero, visto que, por mais que não considerem a boneca como o brinquedo mais legal ou aquele que gostariam de ter, ao vê-la, a maioria não imaginou outra possibilidade para a irmã ou o carinho e o boneco para o irmão. São representações fortemente arraigadas no imaginário de crianças que ainda não chegaram aos 8 anos.

A protoporfiria eritropoiética (PPE), é uma genodermatose rara causada, na maioria dos doentes, pela redução da actividade da ferroquelatase (FECH), a última enzima da biossíntese do heme, e consequente acumulação de protoporfirina (PP) em vários tecidos. Os autores descrevem um adolescente de 16 anos (caso índice) que sofria de PPE desde a infância, caracterizada por episódios agudos de fotossensibilidade dolorosa nas áreas foto-expostas, alterações crónicas, anemia microcítica, trombocitopenia e disfunção hepática ligeira. A irmã de 18 anos apresentava sintomas agudos mais ligeiros e não evidenciava alterações crónicas. Os progenitores e o irmão mais novo eram assintomáticos. A biópsia lesional efectuada no caso índice mostrou deposição de material hialino, PAS-positivo, em localização perivascular. O teste de Rimington-Cripps foi positivo em ambos os doentes sintomáticos e os níveis de PPs eritrocitárias encontravam-se elevados, mas normais nos pais e no irmão mais novo. O estudo genético, efectuado em ambos os doentes e na mãe (amostra do pai não disponível por paradeiro desconhecido), revelou heterozigotia para uma nova mutação no gene FECH (c.1052delA) nos filhos e heterozigotia para o alelo hipomórfico IVS3-48T>C em todos os elementos testados. Confirmou-se, assim, o padrão de hereditariedade “pseudodominante” observado na maioria das famílias, explicado pela presença simultânea de uma mutação no gene FECH e de um polimorfismo frequente, afectando o alelo oposto (IVS3-48T>C). Neste caso, o alelo mutante foi provavelmente herdado do pai. Do nosso conhecimento, esta é a primeira descrição de uma família portuguesa com PPE caracterizada do ponto de vista molecular, tendo-se descrito uma nova mutação, não referida na literatura.

The changes in sectors and linkages in Indonesian economy have been changing thus affecting the structure. This study aims to evaluate the changes in the nation ‘s economic structure by focusing on the development of intra/inter sectors and intra/inter regions linkage using interregional input-Output (IRlO) model in 1995 and 2000 data. The model analyzes the changes by applying the concept of technical coefficient stability, testing changes on the coefficients, and exploring the basic IRIO modeL The study found that there has been a significant decrease of relative relationship between sectors and regions in Indonesian economy albeit of seemingly insignjfìcant. Further, the analysis in intra and inter regions showed that an increase in intra regions relationship has not been significant meanwhile the decrease of inter regions relationship has been significant. The studies also revealed that industry was a high potential sector in national development priorities not only because of its high multiplier but also its role in strengthening and increasing the interactions of intra/inter sectors and intra/inter regions.

As relações entre irmãs ou irmãos têm merecido escassa atenção na Sociologia face a outras dimensões do fenómeno familiar. Este artigo pretende contribuir para contrariar essa tendência, e mostrar como este é um objeto merecedor de um olhar sociológico atento. O texto parte de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que realizou 32 entrevistas, com caráter de história de vida, a membros de fratrias pertencentes a famílias nucleares. Adotou-se uma perspetiva longitudinal, cruzando as diferentes fases de vida (infância, juventude e idade adulta), que permitiu revelar o dinamismo dessas relações ao longo do ciclo de vida, e sua cristalização na idade adulta. O artigo pretende responder a duas questões: a) o que é ser irmã ou irmão?; b) como se caraterizam as relações fraternais? As relações observadas revelaram-se plurais e complexas, mostrando a relevância de cinco dimensões para a sua análise: biológica, normativa, afetiva, estatutária e comparativa. A partir das narrativas dos sujeitos foi possível identificar relações vinculativas, companheiristas e de aliança. A discussão levantada neste artigo tem como propósito fornecer elementos e ferramentas analíticas com valor heurístico para a análise deste objeto.

<p>O objetivo principal deste artigo foi analisar as narrativas de jovens adolescentes do último ano do ensino fundamental (9º ano) sobre os<br />conhecimentos e conceitos de gênero, sexualidade, identidade, orientação sexual, buscando tecer alguns conhecimentos e informações, aproximando-os da realidade vivenciada na família, na escola e na sociedade na qual vivem. Problematizamos o estudo com este grupo, a partir das narrativas que envolveram os debates presentes nas aulas de Geografia com o tema “orientação sexual”, que ganhou enfoque no grupo a partir da seguinte colocação: “O meu irmão não sabe se é homem ou mulher... Muitas vezes ele gosta de colocar roupas da minha irmã”. A discussão teórica permeia a relação dos tópicos acima, embasada nas perspectivas dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais – PCN – e por autores que discutem a temática. Os resultados indicaram um enorme caminho ainda a ser trilhado, para desmistificar as ideias acerca da sexualidade, identidade de gênero, orientação sexual, enfim, a construção de uma sociedade mais igualitária e tolerante às diferenças.</p>

Resumo: Pretende-se neste artigo estudar os procedimentos arquivísticos desenvolvidos por Eunice Vivacqua, autora do livro Salão Vivacqua: lembrar para lembrar, e irmã do escritor Achilles Vivacqua. Para tanto toma-se como material de análise textos produzidos pela guardiã dos arquivos de Achilles, com o intuito de desvelar o percurso dos registros realizados e a forma como os materiais foram recolhidos e organizados. Entre os materiais estão documentos e cartas, elaborados por ela, como forma de orientar a recepção do material. Temos como fonte prioritária para as reflexões um documento, sem data, no qual ela fornece, de maneira bem poética e minuciosa, um retrato de seu irmão. Pretende-se analisar esse documento como uma reflexão teórica da ideia de arquivo e dos significados dos gestos realizados por essa arquivista e restauradora. Toma-se como base teórica fundamental estudos que discutem a questão da memória e do arquivo, como, por exemplo, o de Jacques Le Goff, em sua obra História e memória, e o de Jacques Derrida, em Mal de arquivo: uma impressão freudiana. Sou eu o guarda de meu irmão?” que se realizou o 4º Simpósio Internacional sobre o Padre Cícero, ocorrido de 17 a 21 de novembro de 2014, em Juazeiro do Norte-CE, com o mote “E onde está ele?”. “É para não nos furtarmos, como Caim, de nossa responsabilidade como pesquisador, educador, historiador, teólogo, sociólogo, ateu, devoto ou romeiro! Onde está o Padre Cícero e o que fizemos dele, após 80 anos de seu falecimento?”. [...] Padre Cícero é não só sacerdote e poeta, mas santo e profeta: e não se homenageia um profeta. A um profeta se segue ou se persegue, e, no limite, se mata - ou se condena ao silêncio simbólico. No terceiro episódio da Electra de Sófocles, a heroína, acreditando que seu irmão Orestes está morto, tenta convencer sua irmã Crisótemis a participar de um plano de matar Egisto, em um discurso que retoma as honras públicas instituídas na Atenas do século V a.C. em homenagem ao casal tiranicida, Harmódio e Aristogíton, e, portanto, aproxima as duas irmãs da imagem de campeãs da democracia (v. 947-989). Este artigo compara o tratamento dado por Comentários contemporâneos à Electra de Sófocles a este discurso com estudos recentes da cidadania ateniense que fazem uso do gênero como ferramenta metodológica, no intuito de argumentar que a ideia da pólis como um “clube de homens” depende muito mais de um estereótipo moderno sobre a política ateniense do que das evidências antigas disponíveis – um estereótipo que projeta concepções europeias do século XIX acerca do político sobre o contexto antigo e perpetua, no passado, uma dominação masculina supostamente universal. Nessa perspectiva, a atitude de Electra, certamente excepcional pela situação igualmente excepcional em que a heroína se encontra, longe de transgredir de um modo impressionante os papéis de gênero antigos, aponta para a importância da cidadania feminina na democracia ateniense.

Purpose Employees’ readiness to relocate abroad plays a crucial role for the success or failure of expatriate assignments. Hence, companies should consider employees’ international relocation mobility readiness (IRMR) when selecting candidates for international postings. However, past research has conceptualized and measured IRMR heterogeneously, hampering the interpretation and comparability of IRMR research results. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to provide a new conceptualization of IRMR and to give recommendations for its measurement. Design/methodology/approach Based on the business, psychological and sociological literature, this paper reviews and categorizes how IRMR has been conceptualized and measured. To structure the findings, a directed content analysis was applied. The sample comprises 88 journal articles. Findings The results reveal that studies seldom provide a conceptualization of IRMR. While the authors often find a misfit between the studies’ explicit conceptualization and the actual measurement of IRMR, most scales actually measure willingness (i.e. usually a predictor of risky and spontaneous behavior). Research limitations/implications Based on the results and the Rubicon model of action phases (Heckhausen and Gollwitzer, 1987), the authors recommend future research to conceptualize IRMR as a dynamic multidimensional construct, covering the different phases of an individual’s decision to relocate internationally. Future, IRMR measurements should also cover the complexity of IRMR, e.g. regarding specific location characteristics. Practical implications Companies should consider the whole decision-making process regarding IRMR to apply specific measures at the best possible time. Originality/value This paper investigates IRMR scales according to their scientific validity and hence provides the basic ground for future scale development studies.

Abstract:

A compatibility and stability of Isoreticular Metal Organic Framework (IRMOF-1) impregnated with choline based ionic liquids (ILs) are studied by molecular dynamic simulation. Among three proposed IL/IRMOF-1 hybrid composites, cholinium formate, ([Chl][Fm]) is nominated as the best IL to be incorporated with IRMOF-1 since it shows the lowest RMSD value (0.502 nm, 0.637 nm, 0.923 nm) at three IL/IRMOF-1 w/w ratio (0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2%) respectively and become representative to all three ILs. Oxygen atom in the bridging carboxyl group shows the most flexible atom through RMSF analysis since it shows the highest fluctuation (1.001 nm) at WIL/IRMOF-1 = 0.4%. The RDF shows that the interaction between [Chl]+ and [Fm]− is higher in composite phase compare to bulky phase due to confinement effect of IRMOF-1. Both [Chl]+ and [Fm]− seem to be preferred to locate around carboxylate group inside the IRMOF-1 whereby [Fm]− shows the dominant interaction and strongly interacts with IRMOF-1 compared to [Chl]+. In terms of mobility, the cation shows high mobility with SDF value of 0.0419 nm2 in which mobility is expected to be increased with increasing of ILs ratio (0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2%) respectively. Intensity of the ions population around IRMOF-1 is interpreted by density map which is in agreement with the RDF analysis. Finally, the stability of the IRMOF-1 is confirmed by the radius of gyration (Rg) analysis in which 0.4% ILs shows the most stable conformation with the lowest Rg value = 1.667 nm that is in consistent with the RMSD analysis. Overall, the structural stability of IRMOF-1 is well interpreted and impregnation of ILs literally increase the stability of framework at lower IL/IRMOF-1 w/w ratio.

We systematically investigate the room-temperature antiferromagnetic tunneling anisotropic magnetoresistance (TAMR) effect in [Pt/Co] / IrMn/AlO x/ Pt vertical tunnel junctions as a function of IrMn thicknesses and field directions. The experimental results indicate that a partial rotation of IrMn moments is triggered by ferromagnetic Co/Pt with the formation of exchange-spring in vertical fields, whereas two distinct modes of positive and negative spin-valve-like signals are detected with different in-plane fields due to the unidirectional anisotropy of IrMn . Electrical transport and magnetization reversal measurements confirm the crucial role of stable antiferromagnetic IrMn moments in the observed TAMR effect, which is profoundly affected by the operation temperature, IrMn thicknesses, magnetic fields and field directions.
