Full textIrak and iran are two neighbouring countries whose relations have never known stability throughout history, due to historic politic and, legal factors which have had great consequencies upon the emergence of the irako-iranian relations problem and upon the border crisis which increased or decreased according to the political circumstances stemming from the nature of the political and ideological contradiction between both countries. Our point, is thus, to analyse the various aspects of the evolution of these relations from 1968 to the present day. To this end the work has two main parts. The first one deals with the nature of the contradictions and political orientations between irak and iran during the period preceding the iranian revolution, which led to an acute political crisis affecting the border problem, and which has been solved in 1975 by the conclusion of the algiers agreement between both countries. A crisis, stronger than the previous one, also marked the period which followed the iranian revolution. It lasted more than one year and ended with the war between irak and iran. The second part deals with the causes and stages of the war and, with the international and regional attempts to put an end to the war and, with the stand of both countries on this question. (. . . )

Full textThis research is about the contemporary historical study of the relations between iran and irak, through the varied events significant to their relations. The first period, before the first world war, witnessed a conflict between the ottomans and the persians to control irak (1508-1638). The conflict ended with the victory of the ottomans who governed irak from 1638 until 1911. During this period there had been several treaties to end the conflicts about irak. (we can mention the amassia treaty 1555 and the teheran agreement in 1911, tp explain irak situation during the 16th and the 19th century). The second period, after the first world war, ends with the fall of the ottoman empire, allied to germany, and the moudros armistice on october 30 th 1918. On the 25th of april 1920, the allies high council met in paris and decided that irak should fall under the british mandate. From this sprung a triple relationship beween the british, the persian and the turkish government, about the chott-el-arab and the mossoul question. Between 1922 and 1944, irak was admitted into the society of nations, against iran's will. Great britain initiated a treaty of friendship and of borders between the two countries ; it was a way of protecting its own petroleum economic interests. This treaty was followed by the saad-abad pact. One of the results of the pact was the commission for a definition of the borders ; the second world war prevented its completion. The relationship between iran and irak improved until the bagdad pact in 1955, emphasizing the close relationship between the two countries. This research also deals with the changes in irak after the revolutions of july 14th 1958 and july 17th 1968 followed by a deterioration of the relationship, espacially in the chatt-el-arab and the border areas. The algiers agreement of march 6th 1975 was tu end the crisis and solve the kurdish question. But the fall of the chah on january 16th 1979, and the proclamation of the islamic republic in iran, created more tension and problems that lead, in september 1980, to the war that still lasts in the gulf area

Full textIt is the years that two countries has started to fight, they engaged in a armed conflict which is taking place far from occident's observation and today no-one can foresee its out'come. Started under plea of controlling the arvand river but this conflict during its evolution has demonstrated the exisetence ot other hostilities nonetheless the control problem of chatt-el-arab has become a secondary there'fore giving the priority to the new hostilities. But besides the local fact of this conflict, it is intersting to analyze the part played by the great-powers, because these countries by the play of alliance which permits to supply the armes are helping to increase the war in spite of limiting enormous devastations

Full textWith the Orientalist imagery casting Baghdad a vanished mirage, that of wars tending to transform it into a foil, and finally the "advertising policy" of a regime which functioned for thirty years as a screen between Iraq and the rest of the world, how can a clear perception of the modem city of Baghdad be achieved now? The thesis aims at identifying and evaluating the main stages of transformation of Baghdad's urban and architectural landscape, between 1921 and 1958 within the national and the international context. The organisation of the urban space and the formation of the architectural corpus are envisioned as paradigms of a complex identity, as they embody the various mechanisms of decision at stake in the development of a modern capital city. In assessing this manifold diachronic evolution, three different approaches are intertwined: an enquiry on shaping patterns and processes, within the hybridisation embedded in the modernisation of buildings; an exploration of the modernisation of a society, through the interaction between housing forms/uses and urban forms/practices; finally a study of the historical and political context, and the modernisation of the State, by emphasizing the relationship between nation-building and the construction of an emblematic city

Full textHas been called the "Persian Gulf war" a border quarrel between two neighboring, moslem countries Iran and Irak, which has extended beyond the Persian Gulf region proper. On the contrary, it has been noted that only the northern part of the said region has concerned until the "war of the tankers". Western countries have been only interested, on their side, with aspect of the war that concerned them, i. E. The consequences of the conflict on sea navigation and the transportation of oil in this part of the world. 60% of world exports transited by the strait of Ormuz, in 1973, the only available passage of the tankers, whereas to-day only about 20% use it, due to the considerable oil exports of Saoudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab emirates through pipelines which open into the Red Sea or the Mediterranean. From then on Iranians depend on the gulf terminals for four fifths of their exports. If traffic in the gulf was impeded they would have much difficulty for selling their oil

Full textThe subject of the thesis presents four aspects that are : The analysis of the physical phenomenon of solar radiance ; The description and the study of the construction techniques of the old and current buildings ; The analysis of the evolution of the mentalities and the means of bring the population to accept the architecture bioclimatique and solar ; The problem of the will lack politics of to go towards an urban planning and a durable architectures. We chose the city of Yazd; administrative center of a central province of Iran. Yazd possesses an old heart with enough houses well adapted to the hot and dry climate. The one of the advantages of the traditional architecture of the climatic adaptation is that if the lodging perfectly is isolated, itself it is provided properly of solar protective ones, itself it has a sufficient number of openings and if the day spaces and of night well localized, one will be able to overcome climatic difficulties and furnish environmental adequate conditions

Full textThe irak - iran war is one of the longest war in the modern history. It was also one or the most dramatic, by its events, its causes and results. We try here to analyse the reasons, essentially ideological, of this war through the analysis of the strategical importance of the gulf, land of petrol, state rivalities and dictatorship. Beyond the two personnalities of saddam hussein and khomeiny, their systems and methods, the first gulf war illustrates the failure of the islamic revolution of iran and arab nationalism. Up to now, the islamic and the arab nationalisms, in their diverse versions, have only led to war, exclusion and division. But the irak - iran war is not only local or regional. It's primarily a states war. That tells its lengh, its complexity and its madness
