Abstract:
373 do CPC.

Abstract Photo-voltaic inverts usually use LCL filter for filtering, and LCL filter will bring resonance problems to the system. This paper focuses on invert-er side current feedback control (invert-er side current feedback, ICF). This paper proposes a method for suppressing resonance of photo-voltaic invert-er clusters based on capacitor voltage feed-forward. First, establish the ICF mathematical model based on HPF and CVF under the weak grid, qualitatively analyze the resonance mechanism of the cluster invert-er, then analyze the system control structure and stability according to the proposed method, and finally verify the effectiveness of the proposed method through simulation and experiment sexuality and correctness.

Abstract:
The average cyclic load of heavy-haul railway trains is generally larger than that of a conventional mixed passenger and freight railway. This load leads to more severe fatigue damage to structures, including the concrete in a tunnel invert. This study focuses on the fatigue damage of a tunnel invert under a cyclic load of 33 tonnes. The damage classifications for the tunnel inverts are given based on field investigations. With large-scale in-situ tests on the Zhang-Tang Heavy-Haul Railway Tunnel, the pressure–time distributions for the additional dynamic stresses on the surface of the track-bed for various classes of the surrounding rock are proposed. They were subsequently validated against numerical simulation using the ANSYS Workbench module. Fatigue damage of the tunnel invert is demonstrated using both numerical and monitoring methods. It has been observed that the damage to the tunnel invert becomes severe and extensive if the quality of the surrounding rock degrades. Damage zones develop first at the top of the invert and then expand to a deeper position, depending on the rock grade.

Abstract:
Corrugated metal culverts have been used to convey surface drainage under local streets and major highways all over North America. Inverts of these culverts often deteriorate over time as they are constantly exposed to potentially harsh flow conditions. Invert concrete paving has been a traditional treatment used by roadway departments to rehabilitate metal culverts of which the bottoms are heavily rusted and beginning to perforate. The benefit of this rehabilitation method is clear from the hydraulic aspect but not from the structural aspect. A study was carried out recently for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) by the authors to examine how much the invert paving helps the deteriorated metal culverts structurally. To make the study comprehensive, the authors conducted a literature review, gathered the state-of-the-practice information from many state departments of transport (DOTs), performed computer simulations, and carried out full-scale field load tests. The data gathered in the study repeatedly demonstrated that invert paving can restore the deteriorated metal culverts structurally, especially if the amount of metal lost through deteriorations is regained by welding reinforcement bars to the invert plates before concrete paving. Armed with this positive outcome, an engineering procedure was proposed.

The 3D finite element simulation was adopted to study the globality stability of tunnel caused by the different excavation length of invert. Kelan-Linxian highway loess tunnels were taken as an example. The research results are shown as follows: The vertical displacement and horizontal convergence increased by the increasing of the excavation length of the invert. But the latter increase range is larger than the former. The horizontal convergence in sidewall is convergence value is greater than the level of the arch and the corner, the horizontal displacement primarily occurred in the side wall position. The surrounding rocks maximum plastic strain occurred in side wall and corner wall in 4 working conditions. The plastic zone occurred around from arch corner to wall side. In Tab. 4, the maximum plastic strain is increased by the excavation length of inverts increasing.

Abstract:
Abstract One of the typical countermeasures against ground heaving in mountain tunnels in service is reinforcement by installing or refurbishing new invert, but there are many problems in terms of workability and economy. The purpose of this study is to propose a concept and load-bearing capacity that will contribute to the selection of rational reinforcement measures. As one of the methods, inverts with new shapes were assumed as reasonable structures, and their load-bearing capacity and structural feasibility were examined by model experiment and numerical analysis. As a result, it was confirmed that the behavior during deformation and the tendency of the stresses generated differed depending on the shape of the invert. In addition, there are some cases where it is possible to have a certain load-bearing capacity and expect reinforcement effects in rational construction.

In order to improve the monitoring effect of financial security risk in colleges and universities, this paper studies the financial security risk control of colleges and universities combined with the big data clustering center scheduling algorithm and inverts the multilevel sampling algorithm of quantum potential support. Moreover, this paper considers that the multilevel sampling algorithm is applied to the potential backscattering problem of the stationary Schrödinger equation to invert the support of the potential in the equation. In addition, this paper uses far-field data to invert the generalized linear sampling method of potential support and builds a college financial security risk monitoring model that relies on the big data clustering center scheduling algorithm. The experimental study shows that the financial security risk monitoring system for colleges and universities based on the big data clustering center scheduling algorithm proposed in this paper has good risk clustering and risk identification effects.

Abstract:
Monocular depth cues can lead not only to illusory depth in two-dimensional patterns but also to perspective reversals in three-dimensional objects. When a viewer perceptually inverts (reverses) a three-dimensional object, stimuli on the inner surfaces of that object also invert. However, the perceptual fate of anything occurring within the space that is enclosed by the walls of a perceptually reversible object is unknown. In the present study, perceptions of the relative vertical heights of stimuli within a truncated pyramidal chute were compared for stimuli placed laterally, on the inner surface of the chute, or centrally, suspended within the volume enclosed by the chute. The typical inversion was obtained for lateral stimuli, but central stimuli did not invert. While central stimuli maintained their veridical vertical order, participants experienced a considerable compression of perceptual depth. These results imply a dilution of the illusion within the centre of the volume of space that it encloses.

Abstract:
We present a wave-equation inversion method that inverts skeletonized seismic data for the subsurface velocity model. The skeletonized representation of the seismic traces consists of the low-rank latent-space variables predicted by a well-trained autoencoder neural network. The input to the autoencoder consists of seismic traces, and the implicit function theorem is used to determine the Fréchet derivative, i.e., the perturbation of the skeletonized data with respect to the velocity perturbation. The gradient is computed by migrating the shifted observed traces weighted by the skeletonized data residual, and the final velocity model is the one that best predicts the observed latent-space parameters. We denote this as inversion by Newtonian machine learning (NML) because it inverts for the model parameters by combining the forward and backward modeling of Newtonian wave propagation with the dimensional reduction capability of machine learning. Empirical results suggest that inversion by NML can sometimes mitigate the cycle-skipping problem of conventional full-waveform inversion (FWI). Numerical tests with synthetic and field data demonstrate the success of NML inversion in recovering a low-wavenumber approximation to the subsurface velocity model. The advantage of this method over other skeletonized data methods is that no manual picking of important features is required because the skeletal data are automatically selected by the autoencoder. The disadvantage is that the inverted velocity model has less resolution compared with the FWI result, but it can serve as a good initial model for FWI. Our most significant contribution is that we provide a general framework for using wave-equation inversion to invert skeletal data generated by any type of neural network. In other words, we have combined the deterministic modeling of Newtonian physics and the pattern matching capabilities of machine learning to invert seismic data by NML.

Abstract:
In response to recent and ongoing adaptation of culvert designs to environmentally sensitive installations, inlet loss coefficients and inlet control flow performance data are presented that are specific to environmentally sensitive culvert geometries. A common practice for such culvert designs is to bury the culvert inverts and create a simulated streambed through the culvert. Common cross-sectional geometries of such culverts typically include circular, elliptical, or pipe arch. These buried- or depressed-invert culverts create inlet geometries for which inlet loss information and inlet control flow performance curves have not been developed. Regardless of the method used to design environmentally sensitive culverts, the ability of the culvert to pass the design flood must be determined. In an effort to provide such information, an elliptical smooth-wall culvert with an invert burial depth of 50% was tested under various conditions (e.g., various end treatments, inlet and outlet control, submerged and unsubmerged inlet conditions, and ponded and channelized approach flow conditions) to determine the inlet loss coefficient and flow performance curve characteristics. The test results show that the inlet loss coefficient is relatively independent of both Reynolds number and the ratio of the distance from the inlet invert to the upstream total energy grade line to the culvert diameter ( HW/ D) and that the inlet loss coefficients for the elliptical culvert with 50% burial depth are approximately equal to the published coefficients for traditional culvert inlets. The inlet control data adapt well to the Form 1 and Form 2 unsubmerged and the submerged equations recommended by FHWA.

Abstract:
Invert syrup is a liquid sweetener, which is produced by sucrose hydrolysis to form fructose and glucose. Important qualitative parameter of invert syrup is the sucrose inversion – weight percentage of invert sugar (sum of fructose and glucose) in invert syrup dry mass. This diploma thesis presents a possibility of sucrose inversion determination by polarimetry in combination with refractometry in invert syrups of 70–78 % dry mass produced at 80 °C and pH 2,4. New relationship describing the sucrose inversion as a function of polarization and refractometric dry mass was determined. The results of sucrose inversion determined using this new relationship were compared to results obtained by HPLC/RI, which was used as a reference method. The difference between these 2 determination methods was 0,1 ± 0,5 %. The new relationship was detemined with reference to the fact, that under the processing conditions, more glucose than fructose is formed. The fructose : glucose concentration ratio formed under processing conditions was observed to be equal 0,96 ± 0,02.

The simulation of articulated figures in computer graphics that represents animals, people or robots is usually composed of a chain of rigid segments connected by joints arranged in a hierarchical way. When these figures have many segments and need to be animated by inverse kinematics, their motion configuration may present multiple solutions or nonlinear solutions and motion singularities. This work proposes a new topology of joints of a variable hierarchy, general enough to apply to any articulated model. In addition, it proposes an inverse kinematics algorithm to supply the non linearity of the models already proposed A model like this generalizes the animation of articulated figures because it do not need to have a rigid joints topology and works to figures with many joints and segments. Hausdorff Distance was used to calculate the end-effector similarity with an ideal set of points. The accuracy achieved is 91,23% of similarity. Motion of all joints is smoother when compared to other models by minimizing 8,7% of the angles.

This dissertation aims to analyze, in view of matters observed in the clinic, the relationship between two worlds: the world particular to the individual and the world external to that individual, represented by the so-called postmodern societies. The idea of a lost self is for us an image that represents what has been happening nowadays when people attempt to be a unity in our enormous communities. Using illustrative examples from the clinic, we will intertwine contemporary people s narratives with observations from Psychoanalysis and Social Sciences. We want to observe how societies treat their inhabitants and how much critical thinking can people have concerning the world in which they live. Among so many possibilities of being there is one in special that calls our attention because of its cunningness in thinking and acting. We will approach here this profile of people who manage to journey through the excesses the megalopolis pour down on them using a special filter that allows them to preserve what they have of most precious: their authenticity.

Abstract:
The main goal of this dissertation is to takle a difficult problem in experimental modal analysis that is the indirect identification of input forces based on the knowledge of the structure\'s output response and dynamic characteristics, such as impulse responses and/or FRF. This represents an inverse problem in mechanics and usually offers great numerical difficulties in the process of identification of the input forces. There are methods for input force identification in the lime and in the frequency domains. In lhe time domain the SWAT method (Sum of lhe Weighet Accelerations Technique) is a method that is based on the principle of motion of the mass center. This technique alows the estimation of the resulting force acting on the structure and is primarily used with impact force signals. In the frequency domain the pseudo-inverse technique is known to give estimates of the resulting forces acting on the structure under investigation. In this work numerically simulated as well as experimental results are presented for both methods and their major advantages and disadvantages are discussed. The pseudo-inverse method is further employed in the identification of experimental transient and random multiple inputs.

Abstract:
This work considers the inverse analysis in a three-dimensional rectangular enclosure with diffuse-gray surfaces. The locations and powers of the heaters sources are left unconstrained and two conditions are imposed on the design surface – uniform heat flux and temperature distributions. The solution to this kind of problem by conventional techniques is possible only with trial-and-error procedure and in this case, the forward solution will be run oftentimes without guarantee to find out a good answer. The aim is determine the powers and locations of the heaters to attain both uniform heat flux and temperature on the design surface. A new solution procedure – termed hybrid solution – which couples two methods, the Generalized Extremal Optimization (GEO) and the Truncated Singular Value Decomposition (TSVD) is proposed. The search of locations is treated as an optimization problem, by GEO algorithm, whereas the solution of the system equation, that embodies the Fredholm integral equation of first kind and, therefore, is expected to be ill-conditioned, is build up through a TSVD regularization method. The hybrid method provides better results than TSVD and, when compared with GEO, reduces the computational time substantially.

Conventional reliability analysis techniques are focused on the occurrence of failures over time. However, in certain situations where the occurrence of failures is tiny or almost null, the estimation of the quantities that describe the failure process is compromised. In this context the degradation models were developed, which have as experimental data not the failure, but some quality characteristic attached to it. Degradation analysis can provide information about the components lifetime distribution without actually observing failures. In this thesis we proposed different methodologies for degradation data based on the inverse Gaussian distribution. Initially, we introduced the inverse Gaussian deterioration rate model for degradation data and a study of its asymptotic properties with simulated data. We then proposed an inverse Gaussian process model with frailty as a feasible tool to explore the influence of unobserved covariates, and a comparative study with the traditional inverse Gaussian process based on simulated data was made. We also presented a mixture inverse Gaussian process model in burn-in tests, whose main interest is to determine the burn-in time and the optimal cutoff point that screen out the weak units from the normal ones in a production row, and a misspecification study was carried out with the Wiener and gamma processes. Finally, we considered a more flexible model with a set of cutoff points, wherein the misclassification probabilities are obtained by the exact method with the bivariate inverse Gaussian distribution or an approximate method based on copula theory. The application of the methodology was based on three real datasets in the literature: the degradation of LASER components, locomotive wheels and cracks in metals.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Many measurements of hurricane waves have been made from deep water production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. Measurements made on different sides of the platforms differ from one another and the incident wave field because the platforms diffract and radiate waves. For many purposes, we would like to know the incident wave field. Forristall and Aubault (OMAE2013-10860) used WAMIT diffraction calculations to successfully invert wave spectra measured under a TLP model in the Marin offshore basin. We have now used similar techniques to invert spectra measured at offshore platforms during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. We do not have any measurements of the undisturbed wave spectra for testing the results. The tests were made by checking whether inverse calculations on all the gauges deployed at different locations on the platforms could produce the same undisturbed wave field. Wave directions are needed for the diffraction calculations. Information from the wave gauges can be used to find the directions by optimizing the agreement among the inverted power spectra. To perform the optimization, we varied both the mean direction and spreading at each spectral frequency. The rms difference between the inverted probe spectral densities was minimized at each spectral frequency. When spectra from four gauges on a platform are inverted, they agree reasonably well with each other. The average of the inverted significant wave heights is slightly lower than the average of the measured significant wave heights. But when spectra from pairs of the four probes are inverted, the results differ depending on which pair is used. This result implies that our inversion method cannot be used on data from platforms with two probes, and casts doubt on the accuracy of four probe inversions.

Abstract:
Abstract The need for accurate measurement of cutting force frequently arises in manufacturing processes. Dynamics of the measurement system, however, becomes a major hindrance in obtaining accurate data. Use of a direct inverse filter to compensate for these dynamics is often times not realizable due to the occurrence of non-minimum phase zeros in the transfer function to be inverted. The main objective of this paper is to develop an algorithm which would successfully invert a stable transfer function with non-minimum phase zeros. The design procedure is described and illustrated with some examples. Finally, the algorithm is applied to a face milling case and the successful extraction of the true cutting force signature is demonstrated.

Abstract:
Resistivity log is used to measure the formation resistivity from which the water saturation is estimated. Because of the spatial resolution, the log resistivity Rapp (the apparent resistivity) is not the true formation resistivity when the bed is thin and/or the bed is neighbored with conductive beds. Iterative forward modeling inversion is applied to estimate the formation resistivity from the log resistivity. The inversion has to assume an earth model. Iterative forward modeling inversion is time consuming by nature. The inversion is empirical as the regularization coefficient has to be fixed empirically. We developed a deconvolution method using Machine Learning technique to invert the resistivity log accurately and fast while the bed boundaries are automatically inverted accurately within 0.5-ft that is the sampling interval of the log data. We used Machine Learning regressors to minimize errors in the true resistivity at depth z, R(z), from 2N+1 sets of log data {Rapp(z  k) , k=0, 1, …,N} where  is the sampling interval of log data, 0.5 ft. For training dataset, an earth model extending over 7,500 ft was created where the bed thickness and the bed resistivity were randomly selected in log-uniform distribution. There were more than 15,000 data points. For testing datasets three earth models extending over 1,200 ~ 1,500 ft were similarly created. The 2C40 induction log was considered for the resistivity log and the deconvolution window size N was varied from 3 to 60. Several ML regressors were used for comparison and for consistency. We found the deconvolution method to invert the resistivity log accurately and fast. Furthermore, the bed boundaries were automatically inverted very accurately within 0.5 ft, the sampling interval of log data. For 2C40 induction log, the 21-point (N=10) window over 10ft around the center of the tool worked satisfactorily for the log data in vertical wells. We used different training datasets and testing datasets, and reached the same conclusion. The Machine Learning technique has not been applied to deconvolution method. This empirical deconvolution method can invert the resistivity log accurately and fast. Most remarkably, the bed boundaries are automatically inverted very accurately within 0.5 ft. The method is not limited to resistivity logs.
